Yes my inspiration is Silent Hill, but I am trying to make this less about action and more about the psychology of the guilty. Punishments can include demons and monster figures, but more importantly, memories, ghosts from our pasts, reminders of our iniquities:
"My Grandmother insisted that we all have our monsters. Our little sins creeping from the depths of our soul, taunting us with our every attempt at reconcilement. It was an accident. I did it because I thought it would be the best thing to do. I did it because I wanted to. Excuses, all with the purpose of avoiding judgment; with the purpose of rejecting responsibility. Still, our wrong doings are not forgotten. For some, however, it takes a little more to remind them; a little more to make them pay.
She told me once of a place where the Sinners are judged. A place that rivals even hell. A place where the greedy are made poor, the murders are brought to justice, and the wicked are forced to rest. I didn't believe it. Ignored her warnings, went on with my selfish existence. And then one morning I woke up here. The town of Cain. A town I may never leave. I don't know what hell looks like, but I'd imagine it feels a lot like this -- hopeless."
It is often believed the that murderer gets away with murder, the fat cat away with riches, and the lustful away with pleasure. While righteous people suffer, sinners prevail, living extensively better lives than their law abiding counterparts. Little do these transgressors know that judgment never forgets.
In this RP you will play the part of a sinner. What the sin is, whether your character is in denial of his shortcoming, and what punishments you will face are all up to you. It will start with everyone waking at a strange place in a strange town. Together, faced by our own sins, and the obstacles that are in our way, we must all find a way out of the hellish town of Cain. Why are we here? How did we get here? And Most importantly, how do we get out? All things we will discover as we make our way deeper into the misty mountain village of Cain.
