Ka'Lyn Syrnia sat with her feet placed on her desk. Her leather boots dripped watery mud unto the paperwork that rested under her feet. The rain outside poured against her window and she sat quietly. Another boring day of work in this boring town, she thought. She worked as an assistant to the commander of the Knights of the Crown in Saction. She never went into battle herself, she just stayed and did all his paperwork and handled the city. To most knights, life was an adventure. To Ka'Lyn, life was the abyss one hundred fold. She always told herself it can't get any worse than what it already was.

Just as she started her ritual of forcing her feet of her day's work, a messanger came in. He saluted and she returned it, taking her feet off faster than her body could balance. She fell on the ground in a swirl of curses. She finally rised, with the help of the messanger. "Sorry, I'm just not with myself today."

"It's alright, Lady Syrnia. I have a message for you," he said, handing her the sealed tube. She nodded her head and quickly scanned it. It held no seal and Ka'lyn's senses went out of control. "Who sent this, knight?" She said, raising her head. But the messanger was gone. She opened it carefully, dreading some gnomish explosive or poison to kill her. Nothing happened. She unrolled it and quickly read it:

GO IMMEDIATLY TO THE STABLES AND ASK FOR FORCE. RIDE HIM TO THE MOUNTAINS ON THE EAST FOR 3 LEAGUES. THERE IS A LARGE CAVE. STAY THERE UNTIL NIGHTFALL. IF I DO NOT COME BY THEN, YOU MAY LEAVE.

Ka'Lyn placed the letter in her belt and strapped on her sword. She placed a dagger in her boot and walked toward the door where her cloak rested. She slid it over her leather armor and left her office, heading for the stables."I find your lack of Pants disturbing."

((OOC: Where have you been?? You left and it almost killed my first thread...but Simon and Kalia joined so it's all good :) Let's see...to join or not to join...I've got 14 threads to post in. Do I have time for all this? I'm gunna say yes...:) I'll use Kiri, but she's older than in all the other ones she's in...Do u need someone to be the person in the cave or do you hvae a plan for that?))

Kiri-Koli walked through the lush forests, the green of the springtime leaves reflected in her emerald eyes. She felt dizzy, as if her whole body was warping through the air...it was a feeling that wouldn't go away, no matter what she was doing. Eating, sleeping it didn't matter. It was a reminder of recent events and the fact that she wasn't as young as she used to be. Her black hair fell straight down her back, longer than it had ever been before. She had changed and the change was profound. In her search for the lost Vanished Moons of her lost people she had found the source of the Stone of Temeras, the magical entity that had sheltered her people for so many years. The power had fused itself with her mind and soul with still unknown results.

A presence sparked in her mind. Kiri glanced around, startled. She suddenly had a vision of a strong horse thundering up the mountainside carrying a knight in Solmanic armor. Everything shimmered green and then returned to normal. Kiri shivered and pulled her silver robes closer to her lithe body.

A few minutes later, Kiri cocked her head to the side. Off in the distance she could hear the sound of pounding hooves...

OOC: I'm really sorry bout the whole first thread!!! Nah, the person in the cave has been taken care of. THANKS FOR JOINING!!!!!!!!

The sun was near it's rest as Force jumped over the brush in the forest around the mountains. Ka'Lyn held on for dear life. Thank the Gods I can ride a horse, she thought. Suddenly, the cave come into view and she reined in her horse. She checked around her for any watchers then dismounted. It had been many weeks since she had any sword practice but her hand went to it quickly. She walked slowly up to the cave and used her tracking skills to see if anyone had came. Ka'Lyn reached down to a small mark. It was a footprint of a leather boot. Obviously by the softness and the style of the leather, it was made by an elf. She drew her dagger and continued on.

"Would you hurry up?! I could hear you and Force a league away!" a soft, deep voice echoed from within the cave. Ka'Lyn's muscles wanted to comply to his request but her sheer will kept her from going without caution. She stepped into the cave and beheld the elf. She had never seen an elflord as beautiful as this one and her heart sped in her chest. Her breathing was cut short and by the smile that sprung to his lips he noticed. "Well, you may sit down. I won't bite."

"What did you call me for?" she said, taking a seat across from him.

He waved his hand and a fire sprung in the cave. It floated about the ground and Ka'Lyn's eyes widened in shock. She never saw such magic before. "I have a quest for you. Are you up for a challenge?""I find your lack of Pants disturbing."

Kiri-Koli watched as the woman rode up, barely able to stay on the wild horse. Intriqued, Kiri followed the woman into a cave, moving silently in the shadows. Creeping along the stone wall, the young human settled behind a large boulder, wishing that she would blend into the rocks.

An elflord stepped out of the darkness. His features were beautiful and Kiri found that she couldn't take her green eyes off him. His voice was soft, his smile wide. He talked to the woman, then summoned a magical fire.

[So you're a mage,] Kiri thought. This was getting better and better with every moment. Glancing down to make sure she was well hidden, Kiri gasped. Her skin, her silver robes, even her hair had changed to match the rock behind her! She gasped again and then clapped a stone hand over her mouth. Her expression horrifed, the mage looked up wildly to see if she had been discovered.Good becomes ignorant.

From a short distance away, kneeling on a narrow ledge and staring at the people below, was Taranis. She was a young Avatar- a powerful magical being that looked like a woman with the wings of a bird of prey. Her wings were as ebony-black as her hair, and her slitted green eyes harbored an unearthly, dragonish glow. Her black trenchcoat against her pallid skin and the gray rock made her exceedingly visible to anyone who happened to look up. One hand slid into her left coat pocket, bumping against the enchanted jewels she kept there. Black opal, ruby, emerald, azurite, moonstone and amber- ranging from as large as her fist (the ruby) to the size of a single gold coin (the amber). Her pouches of steel, copper, gold and silver coins hung from around her waist. Carefully, she removed them and hid them in a small hole within the side of the cliff. She didn't want them to jingle and thereby draw attention to herself. Her wings rustled softly, a sign of nervousness. She didn't know who these people were, or if they would be a threat to her. As she crawled closer to get a better look, the ledge crumbled underneath her. With a waving of arms and a wild yell, she tumbled downwards.

Ka'Lyn, hearing a strange yell, jumped and drew her sword. A hand on her shoulder restrained her from going anywhere. "I said, are you up for a challenge!?" She gave the elflord a look of pure defiance and threw off his hand. It was soon replaced with the other hand around her neck. "Sit down. Whatever is out there will be taken care of." He waved his hand and the loud rustling stopped, soon followed by a swoop of bird wings. What in the blazes of hell could have screamed like a woman and then swooped like a bird!?, she thought.

"Yes, I am up for your challenge. Name your conditions."

"Well, first let the mage come out from behind that rock, and then we will discuss some business since she evidently wants to be a part of this.""I find your lack of Pants disturbing."

Kiri-Koli stepped out from behind the large boulder slowely. The two other occupents of the cave, that were still standing, blinked at her. Kiri blushed, though it didn't show on her rock colored cheeks. The young silver robe seriously had no idea what was happening to her and it scared her more than she was willing to admit.

Summoning all her courage, and in an effort to save face, Kiri closed her eyes and willed her skin to return to its normal state. Frowning, she concentrated harder and a second later a warm tingling sensation washed over her skin. She opened her eyes and her vision was flooded with green. The emerald mist swirled in a tight circle around the astonished mage and then dissapated. Kiri glanced down. She was back to normal.

Looking up, she smiled her success at her equally astonished audience.

"Hello, I'm Kiri-Koli," she glanced at the bird-like woman. "Is she all right?"Good becomes ignorant.

Reuven Dargo was paraylized with joy and fear as he watched the bird lady fall from the cliff face. ooc: of course there's room. the more the merrier!

"The woman should be fine. Now, let's get down to business," the elflord said, occassionally glaring at the new mage. "I am Lunirathas. In my lifetime only two things have scared me: the Wizard's Conclave and the Stone of Mirinoth. The stone is a very powerful tool, and I'm afraid it has fallen into the wrong hands. It was my fault, and I've been charged to go and retrieve it."

Ka'lyn looked at him, trying to decipher his words and emotions. He seemed sincere about it. "Well, where will we be traveling?"

"To the Blood Sea. There, we must travel into the maelstrom to the bottom of the sea. That is where it lies." Ka'Lyn's eyes widened. She hated water, and there couldn't be a way, even if it were magical, to get to the bottom of the Blood Sea!

"That is impossible! There is no way to get to the bottom of the maelstrom!"

"That is what you think." "I find your lack of Pants disturbing."

((OOC: Ha! Another magic stone. Kiri just got back from a quest she went on to find the magical stone of her own heritage...heeheehee))

Kiri-Koli watched thoughtfully. She had thought her own quest for the Stone of Temeras to be impossible and yet here she was.

[Changed...] came a small voice in the back of the silver robe's mind. Kiri shuddered suddenly and know that the voice was right. Her vision blurred and she suddenly just knew that she had to accept this quest. It was the key to the secret that know resided within her.

Glancing at Lunirathas, she nodded once.

Reuven had been listening to the others conversation and was overwhelmed with idea. "Into the mealstrom" he thought to himself, What better way to please the elements then besting their best? So walking straight into the strange fire light he Spoke aloud.

"There is always a way. And if not then we'll have to make our own."

At this he raised his right hand palm up, there was a puddle of clear water. The water didn't drip from his hand as if held in place by gravity. Slowly the water puddle began to float upward like a bubble of air. Keeping his right hand still he raised his left arm palm facing the bubble of water. The bubble began to freeze in mid-air, first the out side then slowly all the way through, when the others looked at his left palm they could only see a soft mist, like when you breath in the winter air. This mist was drifting from his palm to the bubble and circling it continously. After only a moment the bubble was completly frozen Reuven lowered his left arm and slowly the bubble floated into his right hand. Looking at this newly formed ice gem with satisfaction he tossed it towards Kiri. When she caught it she noticed instantly it wasn't as cold as ice infact she thought she could feel the texture of water beneath a soft skin of ice, much like a balloon filled with water.

" If you ever need to freeze something. Just hit it with that." He said this with cincerity."Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

((OOC: Ha! Yet another magical stone!! heeheehee. :) You are giving that ice gem to me right? Not just showing me? I'm going to pretend it's a gift...:)))

Kiri-Koli turned the ice gem over in her slender hand, admiring its many facets, each reflecting light at a different angle. A rainbow played before the astonished mage's eyes, reminding her of a diamond. But this was different and, to her mind, much more beautiful and valuable. And besides being beautiful, its texture was a mystery, as it seemed to exist as a solid and liquid at the same time.

Kiri's smile reached her eyes, which at that moment were struck with green light from the gem. Face and eyes glowing, she looked at Reuvan with sincere warmth.

"I-I-I...Thank you so much!" Kiri blushed and felt very young, a feeling she had not had in a long time. Glancing at the gem once more, she realized her hand was turning clear and cold. Blushing harder, Kiri shoved that hand into one of the many pockets of her silver robes and wished furiously that everyone would stop looking at her. Good becomes ignorant.

"We will be traveling by dragon to Flotsam. A ship is waiting for us there, and we will sail to the maelstrom."

Ka'Lyn cleared her throat. "So, when will we leave?"

"Are the rest of you ready?" the mage said."I find your lack of Pants disturbing."

Kiri wasn't listening. Her mind was racing, turmoil spinning through her head and past her eyes. Suddenly before her was a looming dragon. She was atop it's back, riding between the wings. Behind her was Reuven, his arms around her waist...Suddenly a large object flew into view...the dragon pulled up...Kiri was falling, Reuven was shouting, screams...

The silver robe shook her head and shivered. This vision had been similar to the last, the one with the woman riding up on the horse, but stronger. Should she believe it? Should she risk it? Kiri simply didn't know. But there was an alternitive. Though she loathed to wake her friend, Kiri sent out a telepathic message to T'Pania.

While she waited, she turned to the elf mage. "You're dragon will not be needed to carry me. I have my own mode of transportation."

As if on que, a large griffon landed in the mouth of the cave and folded its gold and silver wings. T'Pania had been a friend of Kiri's for as long as the human could remember, a friend whom she had lost at least twice. The griffon was truely beautiful, a magical beast that shimmered in the sun and flew with grace. It's prime feathers were the color of the purest golds, while the secondary feathers were a soft silver.

Climbing onto the griffon's back, she smiled at the assembled people, who stood in awe.

"I'm ready to go...Reuven, if you wish to ride with me, I assure you T'Pania can handle the weight."Good becomes ignorant.

At this Reuven found it extremly hard to hide his excitement, he had never ridin on a griffon before and he certainly wasn't about to let his chance get away.

"I would be more than honored to ride such a noble and beautifull animal if it will allow me?" He said this while walking towards the griffon and with a cincerity that starled himself."Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."
