“Gather round everyone and come see what magnificent goods I have for sale!” The loud hustle and bustle of Goodlunds market was no match for Adrianna’s invigorating voice.
Villagers from everywhere in the streets headed in the direction in which it came from. Usually on such a busy day the citizens of Goodlund would pay no mind to passing venders that slipped in and out of the town as quickly as a kender would empty your house. But this merchant was offering something that not many, if any, had come across in their lifetime. Even the shopkeepers left their posts to see what this busy little elven woman was selling. A brilliant flash of soft colors and a dancing array of rainbow like light shaped into the form of griffins and dragons conjured up more excitement from the growing crowd.
The welcoming weather and cloud filled sky’s set an excellent stage for Adrianna’s magical displays. Sensing their enthusiasm she tossed another one of her crystalline orb’s into the sky with a spin. The glass balls that were previously putting on a show swam over to join the new ball in a single mid air column. The crowd cheered with delight as Adrianna raised her hand’s to silence them. “ I am happy that you are all pleased by what you see, and I will be even happier to see each and every one of you walking away with one of these wonderfully entertaining toys!” Gingerly she plucked one of the orbs from the air and held it before the crowd. While in her hand it seemed to take on the color of her smoothly tanned skin.
“But unfortunately I have a very limited supply, so! First come first serve. Only 5 steel each for these magnificent trivialities, see my assistant for purchase…” Adrianna pointed to an empty pedestal at the corner of her stand were, without warning, a platinum child sized dragon appeared in a puff of blue smoke holding a wooden money box in one claw and a small satin pouch in the other. The crowd hushed as the children clung to their mothers and screamed in excitement, pointing at the cheery looking dragon. It spoke in an alluring tone. “Come one come all and do not fear. These glassy treats not only entertain your eyes but sweeten your dreams as well! Come buy! Only 5 steel a piece.” From inside the silken pouch he pulled out another pouch containing one of the lucid balls. Almost instantly the villagers rushed up to the dragon pushing and pulling for a chance to be first in line.
“Hey!!” One of the villagers shouted above the crowd. “ What about those bluish ones you got there. Are they for sale too?” The man pointed to the set of blue balls sitting behind Adrianna. She hadn’t used them for demonstration or display. “I couldn’t sell them to you if I wanted to.” She picked up one of the 6 blue globes from behind. “ Only they can choose who they would be sold too…or given. Whatever and whichever they ask I carry out.” The sphere in her hand abruptly began to change into a deep glowing sea green, as did two others from the set of six change colors. One a crimson red and the other a royal purple. Adrianna tremble with anticipation, her grey eyes shone behind the long braided locks of her raven black hair. “ It appears that they have already chosen their masters from amongst this crowd. I cannot deny them their request; so I ask that the would be owners step forward and accept, or deny their calling. Mind you the globes will call more than one person, but they each will choose one and one only. The gifts that they offer depend upon that individual.” The people hushed once more and turned their heads looking in front and behind them to see who would step forward.
“You know who you are.” She began again. “ Come and claim your prize if you do not fear it.”

((OOC: I want it!! :)))

Ku Y'leh pushed her way through the stubborn crowd, almost biting her tongue off as she was shoved from behind. She swore loudly and then turned at a laughing sound. Beside her stood a large white tiger. The crowd parted for the gracefully creature but no matter how close to the tiger she stood, Ku Y'leh kept getting pushed. Gritting her teeth, she called to her companion. "Stop for a moment. I need to find some other way through here." The tiger obdiently came to a stop beside her master. Ku sighed and stepped forward into a mob of people. It was cramped but at least these people weren't moving. Pushing her jet black hair out of her molten silver eyes, she glanced at what everyone was staring at. A little elf woman was creating a light show for her captive audience. Ku rolled her eyes. She knew flash powder when she saw it.

[You should really relax] came an amused voice in her head. "Oh shut up, L'Nakia," she muttered to the tiger. Over the din of the crowd the tiger couldn't hear the irritated half-elf but he understood anyway.

[She's calling to you] he teased. [Go up there and claim your prize.]

Ku turned to glare at the white feline and realized too late what he meant to do. A moment later a stripped body nudged against hers, forcing her to the front of the crowd. Ku turned to dive back into the faceless mob but it was too late...

"The kender proof lock system" and " I can’t believe it’s not magic". Get it now at a local vending stand near you! :p

Ku turned to dive back into the faceless mob but it was too late...

"That was fast!" Adrianna spotted a half elf who had made her way to the front of the crowd, at least it looked that way for she was desperately trying to pry her way back in. " Looks like we have a taker." she laughed stepping down from her stand. The green globe in her hand changed to a purplish orange that seemed to displayed her mood. Its radiance increased in range as she stepped into the packed mob, which mysteriously shrank back from its light, making a small clearing. All expect for the half elf. Smiling impishly Adrianna walked up to her. “ Greetings I am called Adrianna. And you..” she outstretched the globe just a few inches away from the woman’s face. “..Must be Ku Y'leh. Or so it tells me.” The shades in the globe began to pulse and churn while its crystalline skin melted into the shape of a crouching tiger. The townsfolk just stood and stared. “ Hmm…it appears that you’re traveling with a very big kitty, this makes the situation more interesting.” Adrianna abruptly turned back to the crowed. “Someone has already come up to play my game, but were still a bit short. There are two globes left and they are still waiting for their possessors to come forward.” She moved back to the stand and motioned for Ku Y’leh to follow.
“ I know that you’re out their, I can sense you (Reading this thread!! ;) )
So inch your way up her and take a chance.”

[You are so going to regret this.] Ku thought at L'Nakia, just before she banished the tiger back to his own plane. She followed Adrianna wearily, for she really had somewhere to be. It could wait, she decided. Though Ku had seen through most of the merchants "magic" tricks she sensed great power coming from the globe.

"Mother always said I'd die of curiousity..." she muttered, but she broke from that chain of thought for the memory of her elven mother sent her blood boiling. The half-elf sighed. She bore into the merchants back with her silver eyes.

"I'm not going to wait for long. I have better things to do than wait around to play your games." she called, though she doubted the impish elf heard her or even cared.Good becomes ignorant.

{A kender darted suddenly out into the front of the swarming mass of people. He darted from one side to the other but was trapped, he was about to drop and crawl when a hands evr so softly lifted him to his feet. Turning in expectation of a slavering draconian the kender had a fool proof story ready, but to his dissapointment it was no draconian.
Standing only a foot or so above the kender stood a young human male. About 5'8" and built rather large on top his blonde spiked back hair shone in the mid-day sun, His eyes were light green and his face was none the less rather attractive. He wore a silver earing with a small peice of emerald in the middle, He wore black leggings and black boots, a white tunic and a small bit of chest armour. }
" I'm sorry friend but a few minutes ago you borrowed my money purse. I was wondering if you could return it to me?" The young man spoke with a careless yet powerfull tone as if he knew he was untouchable.
{As the kender gave his purse back Furanthas noticed the dozens of faces looking past him, turning his gaze he saw two women. One was half elven and had a strangely feline air to her, the other was a elf small and slender yet her tones could be heard clearly. His eyes immediatly took hold of the orbs, noticing every fine bump and every once of its unknown power.} "Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

Kynia smiled as she stood transfixed by the deep purple orb. "whats the catch?" she asked as the stallion beside her neighed and bobbed his head.

((OOC: Haven't Ku and Kynia met in another thread?))

Ku Y'leh stood silently behind the merchant as a strange man stepped up, followed closely by a beautiful woman. Ku felt young and ugly next to this strange woman, though at the same time she felt a certain kinship her. They both had hair as black as the void between stars, though Ku regarded the world through molten silver eyes. The stranger's eyes were a shade of blue, the color of Ku Y'leh's own robes. Ku could feel a strange magic radiating from her and her companion horse. Ku studied the horse for a long moment. She loved horses, though had not ridden one since her own had died long ago. Ku Y'leh sighed.

"whats the catch?" Kynia asked, voicing Ku's own thoughts. The half-elf opened her mouth to add to the quip when a strange feeling came over her. It felt familar, a whisper in her very soul. She could not hear the words but they were there all the same. They passed quickly between Kynia and her horse, leaving Ku Y'leh to see the stranger in a new light.Good becomes ignorant.

(OOC: I knew that the kitty in the crowd. The ball just felt like turning into a tiger that’s all. LOL.)

“Wonderful” Adrianna exclaimed clapping her hands together in delight “ Now that all the players are here we can begin my game.” She turned back to the platinum dragon who was now resting peacefully on the roof of a near by building that he had secretly snuck off to when all the commotion had began. “Quaetell, you’re needed!” He opened his eyes but remained on the roof sighing. “Already? I’d think that you’d at least humor them…oh don’t look at me that way I’m coming, shesh!” Wearily he pulled himself away from his perfect sun warmed spot and glided down from the rooftop, landing right besides Adrianna. He looked vigilantly at the elf maiden, the half elf maiden and the male human. The Platinum Dragon grinned and nodded thoughtfully. “ Who would have though that such abstract people could be found in such a burley crowed? Speaking of which, now that we have our heroes we are no longer in need of this bothersome mob.” Quaetell turned to the crowd and smiled as he drew in a deeeeeeeeeeeeeep breath. Within seconds the surrounding streets and villagers were drenched in metallic flames. They didn’t even have a chance to react.

Adrianna waited patiently, hands on her hips, until Quaetell ran out of breath; which was all too soon. The streets that had just seconds ago held a mass of people were now utterly empty, there was no smoke, there was no ash, there was no anything. Not even the burnt remains of the villagers could be found. It was all perfectly untouched as if the streets were empty to begin with. Adrianna patted the heaving dragon on the back. “ That was your best one yet, you got all of them this time.” Quaetell smiled proudly catching his breath. “Well yes…..it was rather…. large. But…I’ve...been practicing.” He stopped and straitened himself pointing a claw over Addy’s shoulder. “Oh yes! Our new friends.” She anxiously muttered through clenched teeth, expecting an immediate onslaught as she turned to face them. “ I know what you’re thinking, but your wrong. They’re not dead Quaetell merely transported them, unharmed, back to their homes or wherever they began the day. They’re all in bed sleeping now and won’t remember a thing. If you don’t believe me you can check the residences in this village. You’ll find that everyone is in their houses resting. Oh! And your beasts have been relocated behind you.” She pointed the horse and tiger that were puzzlingly standing behind their masters. Adrianna’s face began to look distressed. “ I’ve done all this because I need your help. Each of you are free to leave, but I ask that you at least hear me out. If you have any questions for me or my dragon at this moment ask them now.”

((OOC: You're not keeping as good of tabs on my kitty as you think. :) I sent him back to his plane a while ago. I was pretty pissed at him :)))

Ku Y'leh regarded the strange elven woman and the human in turn. She noticed the human smile, a small smile of amused thoughts. The half-elf was curious but she never intruded directly on someone's mind without their permission. To steal thoughts was as bad as stealing...it was worse than stealing anything! Though this rule didn't apply to L'Nakia, she thought with a grin of her own.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw the silver breath over the enormous crowd. She started to cry out, but her voice caught in her throat as an extreme feeling of deja vu swept over her. By the time she recovered the elf had explained that he had simple transported those people back to their homes. Ku did not relax. Memories of another silver flooded back to her and she had to look away.

Distantly Ku heard the elf speaking, saying that she needed their help and that they should at least hear her out. Ku wanted to run, as fast as she could from the silver but she forced her feet to stay. She jerked her head upward, knowing she looked deathly pale. She wanted to ask "Why me??" but different words flowed from her mouth.

Kynia's eyes darkened at his reply, and she ran her fingers through her dark hair, inadvertanly revealing her elven heritage as her hair was pulled back away from her ears.

Ku Y'leh shivered violently as tension built up in her body. That dragon was making her nervous as all...! Kynia spoke, saying she was with the strange elf.

Ku wondered if she should do the same, but decided to act on the elf's offer. "I have known...p-people...who have lied about the nature of their being..." Ku suddenly felt stupid. She peered at the elf with her silver gaze. "I will accept your word if you say that you are as appears and that you will tell us the entire story. I have had enough surprises for several lifetimes." (OOC: LOL, I almost forgot about you too, sorry.)

"Well to be perfectly honest, these orbs that I have just shown you offer no magical power or gifts whatsoever. But they do contain power. You see, I have been cursed to carry these things until I drop dead, which will be all too soon if I don’t get them off my back. These globes are like bad luck charms, they’ve made my existence miserable.. And it’s all because of a foolish encounter with a griffon. By all the gods in Krynn do I wish that I had never met that winged monster. But I have only myself to blame. Before being was forced into becoming a merchant, I once used to travel from place to place as a treasure hunter for hire, as well as personal gain. Salvaging lost artifacts from sunken ships, removing hidden treasures from ancient temples, and occasionally raiding dragons hoards. With Quaetell at my side and my skills at hand I had nothing to fear. Until that unfaithful day 7 years back when I stumbled upon an underground cavern hidden in a forest just south of Solamnia. Quatell and I ventured inside foolishly thinking that we would find a dragons fortune. And as a matter of fact we did find treasure in that cavern. Nearly wall to wall, and in the center of the hoard, standing upon gold and silver pedestals were six blue glowing globes. It most defiantly seemed like it all belonged to a dragon, but it didn’t. It belonged to a griffon. In all my years I never thought to find a griffon that kept a hoard, but there it was, perched up on a high rock covered ledge looking down on us. It knew what had caught my attention and it knew what I was after. We didn’t even have a chance to defend ourselves, not that we really needed to, instead of attacking, that overgrown turkey just cast some sort of paralysis spell on us. The next thing I know Quatell is dead asleep and I’m lying on the ground unable to move my body. To make a long story short the griffon gets angry at my attempts to steal his hoard and places a curse on the globes that I was intent upon taking. I become unconscious again, and then wake up to find myself lying outside in the middle of a clearing, surrounded by six glowing balls, with that damned bird nowhere in sight. Did I leave anything out?" Adrianna caught her breath and called to Quatell. He had climbed back up to his previous spot on the roof and was lying on his stomach with his wings folded over his head. "Of course not dear, you left absolutely nothing out… Oh by the way can you remind me of what I used to look like before that day..Hmmm?"
"Oh Yeah…! I almost forgot. " Adrianna slapped the side of her head as if trying to knock her memory back into working order. "And Quatell was shrunken down to the size of a kender. Right?" she turned back to the dragon, who groaned from under his wings in reply. "Anyhow" she continued "Everything gets much worse from there. All the riches that I had ever collected in my life slowly began to turn into glass balls each night. When I ran out of treasure my personal belongings start to turn into glass balls as well. Anything that I collect afterwards goes through the same transformation. Money, clothes, weapons, and sometimes-even food. The only belongings that don’t revert to glass are the ones that I have previously bought with the money I’ve made selling the ones that have already gone glass. Business was slow so I added some flash powder to spice things up. As dumb as my problem sounds, I don’t know how much longer I can live my life like this." Adrianna ran her hand over her head and sighed. " It’s these 6 blasted orbs. If I can destroy them then I’ll be free from this cruelly planned fate. There’s just one major problem that comes into play, and I bet you can guess what it is…."

Ku Y'leh stared at the elf. She had expected some story of evil and danger, not a story about something as stupid as theft and curses! She shook her head. [You're not being fair...] she thought to herself. Her own story was a tragic one and the half-elf had trouble feeling sorry for other people. Especially, people who go around with silver dragons. She tore her gaze from the silver and looked at the glowing orbs. She had to admit disapointment. L'Nakia had gotten her into this mess and now she had to get out and there wasn't even an interesting destiny-type magic thing going on!

“Nothing Much” Adrianna walked over to Quaetell who had (once again) jumped down from the roof, holding the glowing orb in his claws. “There are about six barriers withstanding, four magical and two physical. I merely need your help to break through them. Of course it’s more of a challenge than it seems. The last group who tried to help me didn’t really * Cough * succeed, because they took this problem for granted. But I’m sure that your beliefs and intensions will surpass all this. ” Adrianna took her pointer and index finger and lightly placed them atop the orb that Quaetell was holding, Her touch activated purple and blue swirls from within the sphere to surrounded her finger tips. “ If you agree to help me then place your fingers on this globe with mine. Ku Y'leh twisted her simple golden ring once and L'Nakia appeared around a corner, without his usual flash of light. No one noticed. Letting the others discuss their decisions, Ku called telepathically to the powerful tiger.
