It is five years since the Last Heroes shattered evils grip on Krynn. The world is full of joy and hope. Of course there remains a presence of evil like the Knights of Neraka. But all in all peace is with us right......

{A lightning bolt lights the sky with an eeire green, lightning none have seen before. The lightning arcs its way across the sky as if a thousand giant snakes were swimming upon the dark clouds. Then out of knowhere they would instantly be one and strike with such fury the ground would shake, the thunders clarion could be heard for hundreds of miles. The storm was presently passing schalsea island, Goldmoon watched the dread storm pass the citadel of light. It did not strike and curved around the citadel. As if showing some sort of respect for the greatest healer of all history, but the strom never stopped it just kept going crossing the Thon thalas and actually striking one of the Towers of the speaker of the stars. Great chunks of marble and crystal flew with the impact, yet there was no scorch marks. The storm continued....}

............................................................................

"Hey you, yeah you. You broke my friends nose." A man yelled with deep anger( not to mention the dwarf spirits.)

{The man the drunk had screamed at only walked calmly away. He's short only about 5'8" but his build was better than any others. He wore the armour of a knight yet had the look of magic as well. His chest plate has a single picture of a silver dragon, His armour is not that of a knight solomnia but very close. His hair is gold and spikes backward like dragon scales. His face is very handsome and has some what of a elven perfection, eyes the colour of deep emerald green.}

"Hey you little twurp. I'm gonna "hickup" kick your tin canned ass."
{The drunk began to charge in drunken rage towards the other man. Crashing into people and breaking 2 chairs he finally made it to only a few bounds away. He threw his entire weight at the man in a tackle, right before impact the man with armour simply disapeared. This went unnoticed to the drunk who actually tackled a Baaz draconian. The man in the armour was at the door looking back to see the drunk trying to get away from the darconian who was he would assume more wasted than the human. A smile creased his lips as he stepped out into the fresh air. He absorbed the beauty of solace more than ever, the vallen wood were bigger than ever, the town was flourishing. Looking down he noticed a kender moving through the crowd snatching things with such ease and grace that no one even bothered to look at him twice. The mans name was Furanthas son of Silvanthas and Adriel Ashriser a simple small town girl that caught his eye with her innocense and unbreakable faith in good. Now his parents have been dead for almost 13 years, hes moved endlessly since. A lone wolf living by the skills he was taught, once a slave to a very powerful sorcerer he had learned that his power was great. So great that his master tryed to kill him in jealousy, But this boy was no ordinary boy he had a secret that only one person other than him knew. Furanthas came to Solace the night before asking Caramon (who had rescued him as a child) if he could keep an ear open for any good quests. He has no idea that the quest he looks for is about to find him, For on this day the green star has risen.} "Power comes with Discipline."

{Furanthas was about to start descending the stairs when a women came running up almost knocking him clear off. She bolted past him and dissapered into the inn, moments later Caramon came outside with the women. She was a human in her early twenties, Her hair was black like obsidian. Her eyes were a bright blue and sparkled with excitment. Before Caramon could say a word she grabbed hold of Furanthas's arm and looking deep into his eyes spoke softly.}
"I have been told that you are willing to take any quest as long as it is extraordinary? Well I have some information that may spark interest with you. Last night I was traveling with my father to Schalsea to see goldmoon, as we were traveling a storm appeared on the horizon. At first we thought nothing of it but as we watched it was coming staright towards us, This storm was like no other. Bolts of green lightning seemed to strike only when chaos would follow, It struck down many of my fathers men and even destroyed one of our wagons. It wasn't only the storm that was strange but me and my father saw someone out in the middle of the storm. A young man dressed in armour some what like yours but black, this man walked with the storm "if you could call it walking. He seemed to float with the storm, and as we watched him his gaze came upon us. I suddenly became over come with fear, My father felt it to and told me to get on a horse and ride to solace. As I looked back I saw my father fall before the man on his knees. I stopped to try to help but as I turn to help the mans eyes meet mine, they were glowing green like the lightning. I didn't think twice and rode straight for Solace, Now I fear my father is dead and this man is responsible."

"So you would have me hunt him down and kill him?"Furanthas said with interest.

"Yes!"The woman said as if a solom oath.

{Furanthas thought hard, He was very interested by this strange young man.}

"I will take your quest. And do not worry about payment, Revenging the innocent is payment enough."

{Looking to Caramon with a smile he walked down the stairs with a new sense of direction.}

"Finally something unique."

((OOC: Ok I'm in.))

Ku Y'leh sat back in her seat as if after a large meal. She had a strange sense of forbroding...as if someone here were marching off to their deaths. The half-elf shivered and pulled her runed blue robes closer to her lithe body. Hair, void of light, framed her severe yet beautiful features. Her liquid silver eyes surveyed the Inn of the Last Home, missing nothing.

A moment later, she closed those molten eyes and surveyed the room with her mind. But too many emotions, most brought about by alcohol, swirled around the room and she couldn't get a clear picture. She sighed and twisted a non-descript, silver ring around one slender finger.

[I must learn to relax] she thought to herself. So much had happened in her life lately and it had definatly taken its toll. [But I wouldn't trade those events for anything] she thought firmly. She pulled the cerulean robe even closer, bringing with it her incredible sensitivity to magic. She had her legacy. Now she could relax.

{As Furanthas was loading his things upon a rather large black horse's back, his attention was caught by a search spell. It was muffled and quiet distant but none the less it was there, he looked towards the Inn of the last home as if looking straight through the massive wooden walls.
Thinking to himself the thought came up that this person could be searching for him, so in natural politeness furanthas made himself known by focusing and controling his magic so it would flow straight towards the Inn.}

" Now I will see if I'm searched for." Furanthas said to himself while starting to load his stuff once again. "Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

"Yes I was wondering.........if you might be interested in joining a small quest with me? I'm good company and I can always use an extra pair of hands now and again. The choice is yours of course! I would never impose a treacherous journey upon a helpless maiden, But I sense something about you that says you R no helpless maiden."

{Thinking to himself how rude it is to talk to someone you don't know without seeing them he decided it best to appear before her. So without a blink of the eye or riceting somelong spell he just simply appeared before the young lady. Who was so shocked by his instantaneous travel that she had begun a magic attack.}

"I'm sorry for starteling you but I thought it rather rude talking to you through your mind. I must say though...I'm glad I decided to be polite."

{Furanthas gazed upon the fair young elven lady. Her face was beautiful and for a moment Furanthas felt a tingle of warmth in his heart. A memory came to his mind and his heart once again was cold. Bowing to the lady He smiles and takes a seat beside her, his gaze still absorbing her beauty.}"Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

Ku Y'leh smothered a smile. The man had called her a helples maiden! The maiden part was funny while the helpless part was simply hilarious. If only he knew... Absorbed in her own thoughts, Ku was startled when the man appeared before her. She jumped and then recieved another shock. He wasn't a man at all! His handsome features and gently slanted emerald eyes hinted at elven ancestry. A half-elf! This day just keeps getting stranger and stranger...she thought, her silver eyes locked on his perfect face. He apologized for startling her, but Ku barely heard his words. After a moment, a sudden cold look entered his green eyes and Ku blushed, just now realizing he had been staring at her even as she stared at him. But what had brought about that cold look? Ku shivered pulling her blue robes around her.

She then returned his bow. "I am Ku Y'leh and you are right in that I am not helpless," she laughed softly, a laugh that sounded like tiny musical bells. "I will be happy to accompany you on your quest, provided you tell me soemthing of it beforehand. The gods know my life was actually dull...for a few seconds." Hearing Ku Y'leh's laugh brought the warmth back instantly and with some great effort Fury manage to hide it again. Realizing he was just standing there staring at her he gestured for her to take a seat. Pulling a chair from the table like a gentlemen, he waited till she was comfortably seated before he sat across from her. She was smiling at him again and it was distracting from telling her about the quest. Finally she touched his arm and he remebered what he was going to say.

" Right.... Well first off introductions. I'm Furanthas and I'm honored to meet thee m'lady. The quest I speak of is one of investagation and possibly revenge." He paused and stumbled for the words, Her silver eyes were intrapping his concentration.
Fury's eyes began to change slightly to a lighter emerald green.

"quest........ ummm....oh yes, Last night there was a storm like no other, in this storm a girl and her father had been traveling to Schalsea island to visit Goldmoon. The storm came upon them like a wave of destruction, the lightning striking down many of their men. The girl and her father noticed someone walking in the middle of the storm, a man with glowing green eyes. The girls father told her to return to solace and get help, as she left she looked back to see the man standing before her father who was on his knees. When the girl got to solace she came to me and asked if I would help find her father, or in the worst case find the man who killed him." At this point Fury could see the facts taking shape in Ku Y'leh's mind. Though her expression stayed open and calm, her eyes left his and looked out the window. When she looked back at him her silver eyes once again toke hold of him.

"It is your choice? This journey may or may not be dangerous but either way a companion would make the travel less tireing."
Fury shifted uncomfortably as he realized he sounded like a puppy whining for attention. "Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

Ku Y'leh stood silently, watching the affect her laughter seemed to be having. His eyes, in the span of a moment, went from distant and tired to warm and a little surprised, as if the feeling was foreign to him. He stared for a long moment until she couldn't stand it anymore and the young mage blushed. He gestered nervously and pulled out a chair for her. The half-elf sat down, unconsiously letting her movements shift from merely graceful to almost seductive. Hiding another blush, she waited for him to say something and when he didn't, she touched his arm lightly. The touch was electric and Ku almost jerked her hand back in surprise. He didn't seem to notice and launched into introductions and explanations.

Ku Y'leh's expression went from smiling and embarrased to wide eyed with concern. She barely noticed that he was having trouble concentrating, though she frowned slightly when his eyes changed color. It simple added to the many question that were forming in her mind.

When he finished, she stood and swirled her blue robes around and brushed back her ebony hair. "Well, what are we waiting for...Furanthas?"Good becomes ignorant.

Nightshade watched the half elf disappear. He looked up at the inn.

At Ku Y'leh's response Furanthas stood quickly and Smiled with great satisfaction. The determined look on her perfectly smooth features sent a jolt of excitement through Fury's body.
" We wait only for our turn to write a peice of history. Take my hand and we'll get you a steed. The best of course." At this last remark Furanthas smiled as softly as he could.

As she took hold of his hand he was suddenly covered with a glow of warmth. Furanthas's eyes changed at the very moment she touch his hand, they went from half-elf emerald green to silver and gold of his other blood. The change lasted only an instant and once again his eyes were emerald green.

With barely a thought the transport spell enveloped them both, a soft white light covered their skin until they could see nothing but the light. A feeling of floating in water came over them, Furanthas felt Ku's hand squeeze his and he gently returned the gesture to reasure her of their safety. The light began to fade and they were both standing beside the towns best Stable house, Furanthas felt a great loss as her delicate hand left his. But as he watched her walk into the stable he noticed her graceful movements, her luxurious ebony hair drifting softly with her every step. He started after her without a second thought. ((OOC: Um...if we can just teleport why are we getting horses? :)))

Ku Y'leh hid her excitement at the mention of horses. It had been so long! A memory of the horse her father had given her arose in the half-elf's mind. She was once again riding through the jade forests of Qualinesti, her companion's sleek black mane tickling the wind. She turned to greet her father, who often rode beside her in her memories, but he was not there. Instead, Furanthas stood among the tall trees, haloed in golden light, his emerald eyes piercing her soul...

She took his strong hand in her own and the halo increased for but a second before the mage realized that she was not in Qualinesti, that they were traveling the corridors of magic, hand in hand...Stunned, she tightened her grip, only to be calmed by his response. A white light filled her vision, and for a single perfect moment, his reasuring hand was all that existed in her life...but as so many perfect things, this one too faded.

Ku shook her head and, anxious to reorient herself, moved into the large stable. There, in the first stall, was a wild beast. It reared in defiance, black coat shimmering in filtered light.

"Stay away from that 'un, missy," called a stablehand, but Ku didn't hear. She walked up to the large horse and placed a slender hand on his ebony nose. The violent animal calmed at her touch and bowed it's head. "Star..." Ku murmered, and her expression was that of realization. "Star." she said again, turning to Fury. "That's why my father bought me a horse named Star!" she laughed softly, a sound filled with pure joy.

Hearing the stablehands warning Fury was about to stop Ku but he could sense her peaceful nature and pure heart from here, no beast in all of Krynn could resist such innocense. As she placed her hand upon the wild stallion it quieted and seemed to enjoy her soft touch.
"You truly are a woman of pure heart!"Furanthas said with a respect in his voice he gave to only the most diserving.
Watching Ku emerse herself into a memory, Furanthas only waited and hoped it would be one of happiness. Seeing her beautiful smile and hearing her full hearted luaghter told him it was of happiness.
When her silver eyes looked to him in joy he couldn't help but smile immediatly almost involuntarily, Fury found himself in a state of complete openess, no thoughts of danger poisoned this perfect picture. He was at peace in her presence! something he hadn't known since his Secret training in the art of "One". Then as always the peace was shattered, his hightened sense's could tell someone was following them. Fury cursed himself for not noticing sooner, Spinning on his heel he moved to the entrance of the stable. Not wanting to disturb her moment of peace Fury slowly moved to the stable entrance to watch. Looking at Ku once more Fury closed his eyes.
His mind created the entire town in his mind. As if in a dream his veiw floated through the town searching for this mind looking for him. Passing through walls of the Inn Furys minds eye scanned the crowed, finally his eyes set upon the man he began measuring his strength and power.
Fury opened his eyes to see Ku giving him a questioning look.
"Just thinking of my um......"Fury couldn't believe it he couldn't lie. Her soft face and bright eyes were worse than any torcherers tools.
" There is someone following us, He is alone and I don't think he seeks trouble with us." Seeing her face change from question to disbelief he smiled akwardly. "Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

((OOC: Perfect opportunity for you to meet L'Nakia!))

Ku stared at Fury in disbelief. Not only was there someone following them but she had let her guard down and hadn't noticed! The half-elf mentally kicked herself. [But I can make up for it!] she thought frantically. She realized she was shaking from her desire to save face in front of Furanthas. She forced herself to calm down before gently twisting a nondescribt ring around one slender finger.

"Come to me..." she muttered and at her call, a swirl of blue motes appeared as if plucked out of the air itself. These soft points of cerulean light gained in number and intensity until they came together to form a large figure. A final flash ended with the impossible sight of a large white tiger pacing in the lush grass. The animal moved with a fluid grace, its powerful muscles moving under pure black and white fur. The tiger was the personification of beauty, every movement was perfectly balanced, every glance held an intelligent that shone through silver eyes.

Ku Y'leh smiled at her long time companion and best friend.

"L'Nakia, this is Furthanas. We are going on a quest with him. He believes someone is following us."

The tiger turned his large feline face into the wind and then walked off with the silence of a predator.

"L'Nakia will find out if we are truely being followed or if it is just coincidence," she hid a smile at Fury's obvious astonishment. "Don't worry, he won't hurt whoever it is...though if he has business with us, L'Nakia will find out."Good becomes ignorant.

((OOC: Welcome back!! I was wondering where you went!! heehee :) Do you have a basic outline for this or are we making it all up as we go along...cuz I don't want this to die and it just might if it has no direction.))

L'Nakia left to see to their shadow and Ku Y'leh turned back to Fury. He was watching the graceful tiger lope away, waiting till the tiger was out of sight to speak to the half-elf. Ku hid a smile.

"Is L'Nakia your pet? He is a wonderful creature and is well suited for one of such perfection as yourself." he asked.

Laughing to hid her blush, Ku shook her head helplessly. "L'Nakia is my friend and long time companion. He has been a part of my family for many generations...I wouldn't let him hear you call him a pet, if I were you. He's very proud...and very powerful." the mage laughed softly as thoughts of what the magical tiger could do played through Fury's mind. She stopped laughing and edged closer to Furanthas. "Don't worry...I'm sure he'll like you as much as I do..." she whispered.

Suddenly embarrassed, Ku Y'leh stepped back and glanced in the direction L'Nakia had gone. Closing her molten silver eyes, she reached out to the tiger. He was laughing at her.

[Oh, shut up.] Ku said crossly.

[You really like him, don't you?]

[Did I or did I not tell you to shut up?] Ku shot back. The tiger frowned in her mind. Ku sighed. [Yes, damn you...but there are other things demanding my attention now. What about our tail?]

L'Nakia didn't push his luck and answered the question. [He doesn't seem to be any threat...I'll keep with him though...just in case. You and Fury go on ahead...alone...]

"I can't believe you!" Ku burst out loud, forgetting that the tiger was far away. She blushed furiously and suddenly rememebered that Fury was familiar with telepathy. Was he listening to their conversation? Ku Y'leh was now bright red. "...um...aaa....L'Nakia says we're safe...for now..." Taking a moment to compose herself, the mage looked Fury full in the eye. "We had better get going if we are ever to achieve our objective." Daring Fury to laugh at her, Ku Y'leh fixed him with a glare and waited. Good becomes ignorant.

Nightshade followed quitly not wanting to disturb the two who he followed. Theyy were an interesting couple that was for sure. The two stoped at a stable and the women walked to a well spirited stalion. The animal was instantly calmed. She did have that effect on creatures it seemed.

The grey clad knight leaned against the nearst tree and watched. Solace had become a boring town of late and there was not much else to do. And this was the most interesting couple to come around. So why not follow them on their little journey.

He watched as the girl muttered somthing and blue lights started to form. Out of the lights a white tiger formed. She gave it instructions and it stalked out into to the night.

Nightshade watched the tiger in the dark. No ordanery person could see the tiger in this dark, but then again Nightshade was no ordinary person. He watched as the couple left the stable. But the tiger remained.

The grey clad figure walked out into the road after them and followed slowly....

He watched with blazing interest as she staired him down, He could only smile and move towards his mount a grey stallion. Walking the animal outside he waited for Ku to ready hers, thinking to himself how she was so at one with her self. When finally she came trotting out of the stable she only looked to him once with a smile that made his blood boil and galloped off heading south-east.

"This certainly will be an interesting one!" Fury said to himself as he jumped unto his horse and raced after her. The night had fallen and Solinari's light lit the landscape up for all to see, the stars shone brightly as the two rode towards Schalsea where their destinys will forever be crossed."Power comes with Discipline. The night air was cool and soft, brushing through Ku Y'leh's black hair and touching her skin like so many feathers. Solinari loomed overhead, adding an otherworldly glow to a sleeping wilderness. The blue robed mage closed her silver eyes and breathed deeply, pulling in air and allowing it to caress her lungs and send a shiver down her spine before she returned it to the vastness above. Her horse, whom she had renamed Star, pranced on his well balanced hooves, impatient to run. But Ku was determined to keep Star still until Fury caught up to her. A peacefulness decended on the woman and her horse, broken only by the sound of thunder in the distance.

"What took you so long?" Ku asked when Fury slowed to meet her pace, a lazy walk. Her voice was playful, her silver eyes teasing. Fury smiled, a smile that took the chill from the night and completed its perfection.

"Isn't it beautiful?" she asked softly. Lunitari sat on the horizon, casting a soft red glow over the swaying forest. Stars shone in the dark sky, so many that it seemed they wished to cast away even the darkness that existed between them. Soon even the faintest spheres of light appeared in the heavens, creating a balance between light and dark.

They walked on in silence. Ku Y'leh seemed to be waiting for something and Furanthas was more than happy to wait with her. Time passed without their knowledge or consent, until a star that Fury had never noticed before appeared just above the trees. It was bright blue and contained the brilliance of 100 normal stars. Fury stared, not able to believe that he had never noticed such a heavenly body before. As if reading his thoughts, Ku Y'leh smiled...

"Not many get to see the Phoenix Star." Fury looked at her in amazement. "When I was little, my father used to tell me that if I wanted it bad enough, I could do anything. I told him that I wanted to hold the Phoenix Star in my hand...I was young..." she smiled apologetically, a smile that quickly turned delighted. "Perhaps if we ride fast enough, we can catch the Star before it moves too far up..."

With a small laugh and a wild smile, Ku Y'leh spurred her horse on. This time Fury's grey stallion took off at the same instant and they rode side by side, reaching for the stars.

Furanthas marvelled at how Ku placed her words as if the gods themselves were painting a poitrait of beauty with her delicate lips. His green eyes gazed at the pheonix star with wonder, he hadn't noticed this star and was taken back by its undying light. When Ku'Yleh tryed to burst off at a gallop Furanthas was ready and matched her move, dust and rocks trailed behind them like a meteors tail. He looked off into the distance and saw storm clouds on the horizon, a chill ran through his entire being like electricity. Time passed unnoticed to the two travellers and by the time they had made camp Lunitari was high above them.

They sat infront of a small fire watching the stars and moons pass them by, Furanthas looked down from the heavens only to look upon a heavenly sight. He was happier then he had been in years, and felt as if he could tell her all of his secrets.
Reaching into a pocket inside his tunic he withdrew a tiny gold locket shaped like a heart incircled in flame. He held it out to her with his eyes stairing deep into her soul, this was gift he showed no one.

"It was my mothers. Thats all I have left of her, other than memories." He said this with a deep pain and hidden anger that almost shaked his voice.

OOC:K now I'm gonna tell ya whats gonna happen so go with it K? Ogers are gonna rampage our camp and take us prisoner. we can fight back and kill allot of them but we have to be caught. I'll act as the oger captian when the time comes. all this after we talk a little.

Nightshade watched from the shadows still. It had been easy enough to keep up with the two horsed companions. The lone figure loved the night. It was beutiful to him like it was to few others. The moons were his sun. And the darkness his light.

Nightshade stopped as the wommen came to a halt to let the mercaneri catch up. The armour clad figure leaned against one of the trees enclosing the road. He could still feel the tiger watching him. It really was a magnifigant creature. Though it had caused no threat so far Nightshade did not take his attention away from it. If it did decide to turn aggresive it could be deadly. watching the treelines Nightshade could see a blue haze enveloping the tree line. Slowly the pheonix star rose above the mountains. Probably the most beutiful of all stars, Nightshade loved to watch it. Looking back at the figures on horses he noticed them take off at a run. With a sigh Nightshade took off after them. Following at a safe distance.

Soon later they stopped and made a camp. Nightshade sat out side by some distance and watched. The tiger was near by watching him. But with out a care Nightshade fell into a sleep.......

((OOC: Um...Simon...only people from the Order of Centuri and those they choose can see the Phoenix Star...it's kinda like Nuitari and the black robes...))

Ku Y'leh took the gold locket in one hand and held it delicately. She could see the passion in Fury's eyes as he beheld it...the sorrow, the loss. Turning it over, she noticed the love that was worn in the finished gold, which had not a single speck of tarnish on it's polished surface. Starlight glimmered off the small locket and for a moment the flames seemed to live, encircling but never burning the eternal heart.

Ku looked up and her silver eyes met green. Both man and half-elf's thoughts turned to their respective mothers, though while one set of eyes was filled with bitter-sweet memories, the others held only bitterness and a deep burning desire to forget.

Ku Y'leh looked down, ashamed of stealing Fury's moment and tainting it with her own experiences. The locket sparkled and the almost magical calm once again settled over the camp. "It's beautiful..." Ku said softly, her voice low and musical, filled with sincerity. She glanced up to see if he forgave her slip and saw that he was shaking.

Eyes wide with concern, the young mage put a hand gently on Fury's arm. He was startled into looking at her and they stared deep into each other's soul. Ku Y'leh's molten eyes begged him to reveal his secrets, his anger, to the night and...to her.Good becomes ignorant.

Her gaze delved deep into fury's soul, he struggled at first but to avail. She had him, that moment she had him as he had never been before. The violence, evil and sorrow that poisoned his past seemed to rise out of his very being. He would tell her the secret of his past, the secret of his true blood.

" Ku'Yleh I'm not..!"Furanthas began.

Right in mid sentence came a thundering rumble from the woods near them. Furanthas jumped up completly taken off guard by the sudden noise, a crashing like a heard of large beasts. Harsh grunts could be heard over the commotion speaking in ogre, shouting commands to others.

" I didn't smell them first, they were upwind. they no doubt know we are here."Fury said while untying the horse's from a tree.
" There to close to escape we must fight. You don't have a problem with killing ogres do you? cause I sure don't."

Right after saying this furanthas closed his eyes and once again mapped the area in his head. There were 15 ogres and big ones too, but one was a mammoth and furanthas winced at the sight of his left arm.

*Furanthas telepathically talks to Ku*
"Theres 15, and one real ugly one. Try to get as many as you can if they take us prisoner..." Furanthas looked right at Ku and smiled.

((OOC: Patience? ha. That's a joke. :) Okay, this'll be my test. I'll start out the battle and then wait for you. heeheehee. Will I make it? ))

Ku Y'leh stared into Fury's eyes. He was ready, she knew, to tell her everything...to let go of the secrets that burned his soul...

CRASH

Ku Y'leh jumped, her hand going for her belt, but her sword was gone. She cursed softly and turned in time to hear Fury ask if she minded knocking off a few Ogres. Of course I don't mind, she thought. 16 of them...

She sent back to Fury, [As I seem to have lost my sword, we'll just have to combine sorcery and steel, won't we now...Nice sword!!] she exclaimed as Furan burst into existance. It was quite unlike anything she had seen before and fairly glowing with power. [Beats mine...I'll show you if I ever find it...]

Ku grinned. She wasn't the type to be excited by the prospect of a battle, but when in the midst of one, you might as well be optimistic. Gathering her magic about her, she set forth two blue shields, one around her and the other, the stronger, around Fury. The ogres came crashing through the forest and Ku Y'leh winced at the sight of them. [This one must have been beaten with an ugly stick!] she sent to Fury with a laugh. It was an old joke, but one of her favorites. The ogre came at her with a large club which hit her shield with no effect.

"My turn!" A large globe of blue flame issued from her hands, frying the club and sending the ogre retreating and looking like one giant ball of flame. His companions came on with more caution, watching the mage wearily. Raising her hands again, she called apon two strips of silver rope. These strips rose up from the ground like snakes and instantly wrapped themselves around two of the ogres, tripping them where they stood and effectively taking them out of the fight. One still-free ogre stopped to try and cut his brethren's bonds but it was not use. The magical ropes could not be cut or torn.

Ku smiled, a smile that vanished when the largest brute came forward. He was ugly, the ugliest thing Ku had ever seen. He seemed to suck the beauty from the forest around him, leaving a gaping hole of evil ignorance. He held up a large medallion and Ku Y'leh suddenly felt very cold. Her magic was taken from her for that instant. She battled to get it back but it took too long. The ogre pushed the medallion through her shield and pressed it against her face. She cried out as the unholy artifact burned her skin.

Struggling through pain and tears, the half-elf worked to overcome the magic of the medallion. She almost had it when an unseen advesary came up from behind and brought his club down on her head. Ku Y'leh moaned and then knew no more.

Furanthas laughed softly at Ku's joke about the ugly stick, then seeing this was not the time to laugh he stood ready. While Ku lit one of the ogres ablaze Furanthas ran yelling a war cry that startled the charging ogres. Three of them stood confused as Furanthas leapt into the air bringing his blade down through the one on the lefts skull, pivoting on his back heel and reversing his hold on Furan he slid the blade from that ones skull into the middle ones stomach. By the time the one on the lefts body hit the ground the ogre on the right was starting to swing a massive long sword intent on cleaving Fury in two. Just before the gigantic blade struck Furanthas leapt backwards and for a moment hovered in mid air watching the blow ment for him take the ogre in the middle right in the chest. In the corner of his eye Furanthas could see silver ropes wrapping around two of the massive brutes, landing without a sound he shouted towards the ogre that just killed his friend.

"At least you ogres are as dumb as you are ugly, or we might of had a problem here."

The ogres were inraged by this puny humans insult and focused their attack upon him, and two more ogres joined the maddened one and rushed straiight for Furanthas. Furanthas did not move but stood quiet as they dashed towards him, he held Furan horizontaly infront of him placing one hand on the hilt and one on the base of the blade. Speaking softly under his breath he wispered the cold harsh words of ice magic, instantly his hand on the blade glowed bright blue and he began to move his hand towards the end leaving the blade glowing blue where he touched it. Once his hand raised from the blade it returned to its usual colour and grasped the hilt, now Furans blade glowed blue in the nights darkness and as Furanthas sliced an arc towards the oncoming ogres a super thin line of blue light streaked right at them. The thin line of light struck all three right in the neck severing their heads which fell backwards as their bodys trampled on eventually crashing to the ground.

" Ice ice baby." He said as their bodys hit the solid ground.

Turning around he could only watch as the big ugly placed an amulet upon Ku's face, hearing her scream he bolted towards her. He was ten feet away when an ogre knocked her out from behind, seeing this triggered his anger and his eyes changed once again into silver and gold dragon eyes. His body began to shake with convulsions and he let out a horrible roar that made the biggest ogre look towards him. They would know pain this night, but as Furanthas began to change a club smashed into the back off his skull sending him spinning into a well off darkness.

OOC:

YellowEye yelled orders to his men to gather any valuables and to take the prisoners back to camp and place them with the rest. The ogres did as they were told and by mid-night they were back at their camp eating deer and drinking spirits. They had taken the crazy humans sword but when they took their eyes off it it dissapered. They eventually passed out not even thinking of feeding their prisoners who sat cramped inside a massive metal cage."Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. Ku Y'leh awoke in stages, lights searing across her vision, only to fade once again into darkness. Her first real thought was that her head had been cut open and ogres were sticking hot pokers into her brain...her second thought was of Fury.

Forcing her eyes to open and her pupils to focus--a move she instantly regretted--Ku surveyed her surroundings through pain-induced tears. Her face stung and her head pounded with more force then a thousand dwarven metalsmiths. She dimly made out the black bars that were their cage. Fury sat, unconscious, on the other side, leaning against the hard metal. Struggling to breath and not to cry out, Ku moved to his side. Fortunatly, from what she could see, he was not in any immediate danger, though she could be pretty sure he wouldn't feel any better than she did when he awoke.

Collasping, the young mage slipped her hand into his and with a small wimper succumbed to the pain. Good becomes ignorant.

Furys mind drifted weightlessly though a never ending darkness, occasionally bumping into glimpse's of reality. One moment he saw a steel door slamming shut the next he saw fire light and blurry forms. Suddenly Fury was reminded of Ku, of her face her glowing personality and the way she made him feel. Furanthas began to fight the darkness and before he knew it his eyes opened, light hammered inside his head like thousands of dwarven blacksmiths. He felt the back of his head and winced as he touched a reasonable sized bump, ignoring the pain he tryed to focus and finally he could see clearly. Ku was lying next to him her soft hand holding his, at this Furys heart burned with anger and love two emotions that fight for his approval daily. Furanthas could feel how week her pulse was and without hesitation placed his left hands middle and index finger over his heart. Then concentrating his life energy into the tips of those fingers, when he had finished a small globe of silver light hovered above his fingers.

" A gift of life for one who makes life so amazing." He said this with effort for the drawing of life energy was leaving him extremly light headed.
Quickly he brought the fingers and globe close to Ku's heart and as he slipped back into the darkness he gave her heart part of his life. The globe drifted towards Kus heart and when it touched her skin she moved slightly for the globe was warm and filled her whole body with peace. The globe continued through her flesh and right to her heart where it released his life force to heal her, The globe sent shiver's of power surging throughout her body the wound upon her head healed instantly and she came once again out of her own darkness. "A gift of life for one who makes life so amazing."

These words floated in and out of Ku Y'leh's mind as she slept, dreaming of silver spheres and green eyes. Her eyelids fluttered and sunlight pierced her slumber, bursting it like so many silver bubbles. She yawned softly and gazed into the sun, enjoying the little specks of gold that danced through a blue sky. But a line of black intruded on her vision and reality spun through the back of her mind.

She sat up with a gasp. Fury lay before her, pale as the undead, his breath coming in short bursts, his limps thrashing in the throes of a fevor. Anger and fear lit her silver eyes, anger at the nature of evil, fear...fear that Fury would die here and that there was nothing she could do about it.

"I can get you out of here..." she said through gritted teeth. The medallion sat near the cage, muting her magic and reminding Ku of the pain it had inflicted. She raised a slender hand to her face. The injury was gone and she instantly knew why. Now firmly intent on revenge, the half-elf allowed her own balance to shift and her human half to take over.

With a roar that rattled through the heads of the hung-over ogres, Ku Y'leh defeated the magic-stealing medallion with one swift stroke. Standing with unparalleled grace, she moved towards the bars of the cage, which bent to her will. Stepping out she met the ogre forces which had, with surprising speed, broken out of their ale-induced stupor and rose to challenge her. Grinning wildly, beyond all reason, the human mage spoke a single word in eerie tones. A silver blade, with a single glittering sapphire in the hilt, appeared in her hands.

"Oh, here it is." she said cheerfully. The ogres glanced at each other. Surely this woman was mad.

Laughing, Ku ran forward and slashed at the closest enemy. Their swords clashed and the ogre howled in pain as blue lightning transfered from her sword to his and ran up his arm, burning under the skin. The remaining ogres charged, intent on taking her by sheer weight of numbers. Their ranks closed in, blocking the mad mage from any outside view. Another roar sounded, this one coming from within the forest. One unfortunate ogre looked up in time to see a mouth full of razor sharp teeth as a white tiger's strong jaws snapped shut on his neck. Each kill the pair made was dedicated to Furanthas and to the long life he had ahead of him. The battle raged on...

((OOC: Sorry about this. I'm having a hard time writing lately...dunno why...probably cuz I'm sick. Lousy weather. Anyways...I wasn't sure if I was s'posed to beat 'em or if the ogres were s'posed to do something else...so I left it open.))Good becomes ignorant.

Furanthas could feel the chill upon his cheek, the chill of death hands. Furanthas had lived a life like no other and in death this remained true, as the warmth of the gods began to shine on him he looked towards the heavens and shouted in a voice that shook like thunder. He yelled out to the gods telling them he was not done, that he had much more to do. He kept his eyes open as a blinding wave of light covered his vision, as he stared straight ahead colours formed. His eyes blinked once and when he opened them again he looked upon a stell cage and bits of straw. His hearing came back second and he turned to see what was happening, He watched as Ku and the her tiger battled feircly against the ogres. He struggled against the pain and dizzeness to stand and was rewarded with a spliting headache, it passed and he stood before bent steel bars taking in the situation. Their was only 5 ogres left three engaged in battle with Ku and her killer kitty two still trying to stand against the spirits will not to.

Bringing his right hand to his waist palm up Furanthas flexed his "mental muscle" directing the power to his palm. Instantly he could feel the power seeth down his arm and into his palm, once there the energy formed into a ball of green light. Relaxing a bit Furanthas brought his right hand up and pointed it towards the two ogres, he pushed with his mind and the ball of pure energy was sent flying towards the helpless ogres. They were completly taken off guard by the attack and didn't even attemp to dodge, the ball struck the ground in between them and expoded instantly. A great ball of green flame erupted, knocking everyone over.

Fury stood with a smug look on his face. Then he yelled in a noble tone.

Ku Y'leh stood side by side with L'Nakia, facing three of the ugliest Ogres she had ever encountered. A primal rage filled her silver eyes and clouded her mind. With a snarl, she started towards her intended victim with a single thought. She didn't notice when Nightshade took out one Ogre, other than to register him as a current ally. She didn't bat an eye as L'Nakia stalked his target, baring his sharp teeth. Her eyes were only for the doomed Ogre before her, her mind only on his demise.

The Ogre recognized the fury in her expression, the intent in her movements. He backed up slowly, raising his club and wearily watching her silver sword. He considered running when the cries of his comrads reached his ears. With a surprisingly graceful movement, he started forward with malice.

The two enemies circled each other like vultures, each wanting the same thing, each willing to go to any lengths to retreive it. The Ogre, in a calculated move, feinted left and then swung in with a crushing blow. Beyond calculated thought herself, Ku instinctively parried the blow but could not hold up to its power. The Ogre grinned as his club crushed her left shoulder, a grin that faltered as the woman failed to cry out. A strange glee entered those eerie silver eyes as she stepped back and rotated her shoulder. Bones crackled and popped with such sickening sounds that the Ogre shuddered. Ku grinned and stepped forward, thrusting her sword towards his chest then swing upward over his head and back down. The stunned Ogre tried to parry, though in a strange moment of deja vu her sword, coming down with impossible strength, severed his right arm.

Gasping, the Ogre cried out to any allies he might have. His vision, rapidly clouding over, flicked from the tiger, watching with detached professionalism, to the man who had killed his brother. The man was standing still, his eyebrow raised, his expression slightly appalled, slightly caught up in her triumph. His dying eyes flicked back to the mage again. But the half-elf mage was gone. In her place stood a human, her expression thrilled as she raised her blade and slid it slowly into his throat, grinning wildly as warm blood gushed over her slender hands...

Fury whatched with confusion as Ku changed, his mind running numerous possibility's of how this could happen. This concentration almost cost him his life for as he was walking towards her he didn't notice the sudden movement in the trees to his right.
The big ugly one had apparently returned just in time to see them sluaghter his men, this of course caused him to beserk and charge straight for Furanthas with no other thought but seeing his blood stain the ground.

The ogre was about ten feet away when Fury finally noticed him, with all of his strength he leapt backwards. Where he had been an instant before now had a large tree trunk lodged deep into the hard soil, apparently the ogre wanted to scure him with the massive tree. Furanthas looked from the log to the behemoth ogre, It stood at least nine feet tall and had shoulders the size of a wagon.
The ogres beedy eyes gazed straight at Fury never wavering as it reached for the giant scimtar at its side, The blade shone bronze in the day light a contrast to the deep green almost purple of the beasts thick hide.

" Almost got me there big guy, thank god you were upwind or you might of poked my eye out. Sheesh have you ever taken a bath?" Furanthas said this with his nose covered by his left hand.

The ogre stood with his blade swinging slowly to and fro in front of him, a slight grin played across his decreped face.

" Human must be tough to beat my brothers. But Me bigger and smarter!" This was spoken with what the monster must of thought as pride.

Furanthas held Furan straight outwards towards the ogre and took a step forwards ignoring the ogres blasphemous speech. A cold wind blew through Furys hair bringing a single gold strand down over his face, his now deep green with a tinge of red eyes gazed with a stoic stillness at the challenge before him. He looked over his shoulder towards the transformed Ku standing gracefully over her fallen foe, she looked Noble and strong her hair blowing carelesly in the breeze. To him she looked the very definition of beauty, and at that moment he would finally show her his secret. Lowering his sword he spoke a mental word Furan vanished into thin air, at this the ogre made a quiestioning grunt and spoke.

"Human why do you put away your sword? Are you afraid to fight me?"

As the last breeth of wind left the ogres lips a stillness inveloped all who whatched, like a slow motion spell but much more clear. Furanthas's head was bowed low and his eyes were closed in obvious consintration, thoughts of battle rage and blood lust surged through his mind as he gave his human side to over to his other blood. The visions left him and his mind was once again at his command and like when one wake's in the morning and strech's so did he. Furanthas raised his head towards the heavens and spread his arms out from his sides, His body began to change and expand as his bones grew and moved. His knee caps bent backwards as his shoulders spread to accomadate the new bones, his chest bulged against his chest plate but it held fast. His over all mass was twice what it was a moment before and all that whatched couldn't look away from the agonizing transformation. Waves of hot then cold crashed into Ku like stepping from a sauna to a blizzard and back again. Furys skin was begining to take on a knew state, Silver dragon scales covered him from neck to toe when his back convulsed and tips of a pair of wings ripped through. The wings pushed free and rested upon his back waiting for the change to complete, his hands had changed into a dragon/human form same as his feet. His head leveled even with the ogres now and it to began to shift and rearange. A crown of silver and gold horns adorned his head as his face expanded in size. His hair dissapered beneath a layer of Dragon scales, His eyes changed to silver slits within gold pupils. The change was complete and now he stood eight and a half feet and had shoulders as large as the ogre. Looking over his shoulder again he saw understanding in Ku's eyes, his wings spread wide in the sunlight and shone a briliant silver. She saw him as he really is a Dragoman.

" Now Ogre who is the one thats scared?" He spoke in a voice that brimmed with power and at the same time sounded noble and just."Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

OOC: I still think this thread could be great if we keep pushing. Besides it has allot of romantic pottential wink wink :). And thanks for your good wish for my mom it means allot. Your " out of mortal minds" sound like a great one and I'd love to be apart of it.

BIC: The ogre stood wide eyed and stunned by what had just happened. His mind trying to understand how a tiny human could change to a incredible beast. His eyes glazed over as the bright silver light reflected off Furys scaled wings. The bronze scimtar lowered slightly and the ugly brute slumped his shoulders in a sign of defeat. Yet some inner strength passed down through generations of big ugly's drove him to stand his ground.

" Me no scared! You still just puny human..... Just allot shinnier!" These word came slow but built as he spoke so at the end it was yell.

Furanthas's lips raised slightly into a smirk as the power opened up to him. He began gathering his energy, harnessing it. Picturing the lightning ball building. Time seemed to slow when the ogre lunged forward desperate to finish the fight. Silver wings folded against Furys back as his massive legs threw him into the air twisting at the same time. He spun round and round while gaining height all the while still focusing the magic. The ogre being maybe 1/8 as fast didn't even see fury jump till he was 20 feet up and wings spread wide. Lightning sparks coursed across his body with bright blue flash's, at his chest a tiny ball apeared dancing with blue electricity. The ball grew quickly and raised above Furanthas's head, once it stopped fury raised his arms and grasped the grape fruit sized ball between his scaled hands.

" Feel power beyond you beast!!!" Fury screamed.

Shooting his arms downwards and toward the ogre hurteled the ball of light threw the air. The air crackled as the lightning split threw it, a tracer of blue followed the charged orb as it smashed into the creatures chest. Instantly the energy released and expanded searing the outside and the innerds of his helpless opponent. There was a blinding flash of blue and white light then a rumble, like thunder falling upon there heads. When the light was gone only a pile of ashe's reamined. Drifting softly towards the ground Furys shape once again began to shift and change, his bones shrinking wings receding into his back. By the time his feet touched the ground he was once again the man with golden spiked hair. His eyes changed to blues green almost aqua as he looked towards Ku.

" Think what you will, but I have shared my secret with you. I only hope you can understand and keep my secret safe." Furanthas spoke just loud enough to be heard and a hint of sorrow touched the tone."Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

Off in the near distance, the sounds of battle continued but the human paid them no heed. They were of no danger nor concern of her's. A Darkness spread through her heart, confirming the nature of her easily swayed and fickle heritage.

Looking down at the slain Ogre with professional detachment, she reached and gathered blood in her cupped hands. She stared for a long moment at her own reflection, watching it twist and squirm within the red mirror.

Ku Y'leh? She frowned severely as a strange voice intruded on her mind and clenched her eyes shut trying to force it out. And force it she did, the last she heard was a strange cry of pain. She opened her eyes once again and with a small laugh, stepped over the white tiger lying still on the bloodied ground.

The sounds of war had stopped. Another Ogre lay slain and yet another voice intruded on her mind. This one was aloud and as pathetic as the last. She looked up and the Living One spoke. For just a second she recognized the words, the voice...beautiful and sorrowful and in that second she wanted to go to the voice and comfort it...

But the words were not tangible and they fled as a morning mist. She now saw, looking out from silver eyes tinged with red, an unknown beast before her. She walked forward slowly, seductively, and then with one graceful movement reached down and gathered blood from the ground. The beast stared at her in wonderment and then cried out as she gave a cruel laugh and smeared the blood across her face.

She laughed harder, the laugh of the possessed, and raised her silver sword. "Time to die!" she cried in glee and ordered the sword forward. It disobeyed and stung her hand. The human cried out in undiluted anger and threw the sword down. She picked up the battered sword of a fallen Ogre and started forward...

Why was the only question that seemed right, as Ku spread the fallen brutes blood upon her soft and perfectly formed face. Doing this brought a picture of gore and insanity to mind and completely threw Fury off guard. He could tell his words reached her for a moment when a look of peace fell upon her. It wouldn't last, for a moment later she reached for her sword with intent to kill him. His only reaction to stand wide eye'd as she shouted her threat. Yet the sword falls to the ground as if it refused to be apart of this madness. What ever was in control of her urged her on again this time picking up a felled ogres blade. She weilded the massive sword with ease and Fury began thinking of a way to stop this. His Thoughts were interupted as a hoarse battle cry rang through the air, followed by Ku's feets dashing towards him.

" Ku its me Furanthas!" These words were spoken with the deepest concern as well as Furys arms out strecthed as if he was to block with his hands. Still his words were washed away from her mind, replaced with the bloodlust.

She leapt at him and swung with a downward arc aiming to detach his upper right half from his lower left. As the blade whistled towards him Furanthas only raised a single finger. The tip of his index finger met the blades edge and instead of halfing actually stopped the swords journey. Ku stood staring red eyed with rage using her entire body weight to push against Furys insulting defense. Ku raised her eyes to meet his and once locked saw warmth from his, a warmth like a fire that protects you while you sleep. Like a blanket that can wrap around you and hide you from the evil of the world.

" Please Ku'yleh. Come back to me! Fight it, I know you have the power." Fury's eyes began to change from the agua of sorrow to a jade green of hope.
"Power comes with Discipline. Love comes with faith. It is up to you for which you'll wait."

She gave a cry of instinctal rage and threw her weight into the massive sword time and again. Her enemy didn't move, holding her back with little effort and pity in his green eyes.

"Please Ku Y'leh. Come back to me! Fight it, I know you have the power."

Fight it? Fight him? A moment of doubt flickered in her red eyes and a sliver of silver ran through them as a small stream of water through parched lands. It was futile, useless...she couldn't beat her enemy this way...why did she need to beat him at all?

Images flashed before her eyes as if the air had turned to a mirror of moments. She saw herself change, her cruelty, her anger...the savage attacks on enemy and friend alike...and the forgivness inherant in pitiful eyes...

Furanthas would, did, forgive her...

The massive sword suddenly seemed incredible heavy and slipped from her nerveless hands. The half-elf sank to the ground slowly, tears streaming from her liquid silver eyes...

Furanthas could only block the random attacks, his eyes never straying from Ku's brilliant silvers.
He saw the struggle inside her and could only watch the battle, he noticed when her strikes were weakening and tensed in case she fainted.

seeing the sword fall and Ku Y'leh sink to the ground made Furys heart squeezed in sorrow.
He saw the first tear fall, it sparkled in the sun a shimmering silver sailing in slow motion to the ground. Fury moved next to Ku and knelt beside her, with a soft touch he pulled away the strands of hair covering her rosie face.
She looked up at him then, tears rolling unchecked down her soft cheeks. He had never looked upon such a lady, her expression of guilt and pain mixed with her beautiful silver eyes seemed chaotic and wrong.
Like all the world had flipped up side down and she held it all together. At that moment he saw her inner strength, her will as strong as any steel and her love as limitless as magic.

" I want to help you, please...... let me help." Furanthas spoke these words as soft as any spring breeze, his tone full of compasion.

"Help Grog," came a deep throated rumble from the trees. The lone living ogre sat on the ground, bound to a thick elm. His ankles were lashed together and his arms were pinned to his sides. His green skin was swollen in places where he had been beaten, making his appearance even more grusome then normal. His orange hair was matted to his forehead and blood was slowly trickling from a cut on his shoulder.

Welcome, Thorn. Pardon me if Ku doesn't acknowledge you right now...actually be thankful. She'd probably slaughter any Ogres she realized were still alive! :)))

"I want to help you, please...... let me help."

These simple words, so full of passion and understanding, pierced through the half-elf's heart and she started to sob harder, guilt washing over her as a icy, relentless downpour...

"Oh, Fury! I-I-I'm so sorry! I don't know what happened, it just...I just...Oh, what have I done?!" Anguish creased her features and the mage searched her mind for something, some comfort...she should feel guilty, she had done terrible wrong and lost control...but she needed to think...couldn't think...

Light wavered before her tearful eyes, blurring her sight and mind. Her head started to ache--violent crying aways gave her thundering migraines and she heard the dwarven smiths coming to pound on her mind...

She clenched her silver eyes shut and wiped her face with one trembling hand, succeeding only in smearing the dirt and blood across her face. When she opened her eyes the world again wavered, holding only one constant...

Furanthas stood straight and tall, her only stable bit of reality in the chaos that enveloped her being...she could feel the warmth in his green eyes and longed for his strong arms to hold her, his soft hands to...

He was her comfort, her salvation...

With a cry, she threw herself forward into his arms and felt them reflexively close around her. The feel of his body was instantly reassuring and she felt her head clear, the pain vanish. She stopped sobbing and her tears, though they remained as a reminder, changed from those of a violent storm to a gentle and cleansing rain...

He could feel the pace of her heart slow as he rested his cheek next to hers. He felt her toned body press against his and he could tell she was crying less from sorrow and more from knowing he was there for her.

Fury closed his eyes and took in all that was her, the curves of her body, the scent of her hair.
Her soft breath tickled his ear and he smiled to himself, Fury felt a tingle in his heart. His arms tightened a bit and Ku snuggled closer still, time stopped as they held each other in that embrace.

In that moment Furanthas knew this women had won his heart, freely and wholy. He would give his life to put a smile on her face, he would want nothing more in life but to hold her in his arms.
To have her, for her to have him, like a man starving for water she would be his Oasis. He could only hope she could feel the same.

She laughed. She felt as a poet watching her first sunrise, awed and humbled by its might, wanting to cherish every moment and hold on in hopes that it may never end...

And that he may feel the same way! Such a thought was sacred and coveted, worth more than any amount of power that could ever be bestowed on the mortal mind!

"Help Grog..."

A rough voice intruded on her thoughts but could not break the divine magic of this moment.

"Help...Grog..."

Ku Y'leh nodded absently in agreement with Fury's questions and walked over to where she had dropped the Sword of Balance--or rather, where it had flung itself.

The half-elf stood over the blade, hesitating. What if it didn't accept her? What if she had thrown away everything she had ever worked for in her life--with one loss of control? What if... she swayed a bit, staring at the blue sapphire that adorned the hilt. Was it dimmer than usual?

Reaching down with a trembling hand, the mage slowly lifted the sword from the ground. It tingled in her hands for a moment and she braced herself for the inevitable burn. But it didn't come...she stared at the sword as the tingle faded to simple cold metal. That wasn't the real test...

Her eyes shifted to the white gold ring on the finger. She felt so ashamed, she had betrayed everyone, everything her father had taught her, Fury's love, L'Nakia's friendship...

But Fury had forgiven her and her father would understand if he were here. Would L'Nakia?

Calling softly into the ring, Ku caught her breath and waited. Blue motes left the magical item and swirled together, forming a massive white tiger.

L'Nakia looked at the mage, his blue gaze cool. The tiger paced almost indesicively and Ku Y'leh felt as if she could die. But then the magical creature walked before he and turned to the ogre in a protective stance.

Ku Y'leh smiled and walked over to Fury, silver sword in hand, L'Nakia matching her every move. Laying a hand on her love's shoulder, the half-elf kissed him softly on the neck and waved her sword around a bit at the ogre, adding to the threat that her tiger friend had no trouble pulling off. Furanthas felt the warm kiss on his neck and looked lovingly towards Ku a fire in his eyes that burned for her.
Knowing what happens when he gets excited Fury ( Animal in bed kinda thing ;) ) focused on Grog, controling the intense flame in his eyes and once again thinking clearly.

In smooth motion Furanthas took hold of the ropes that bound the ogre, calling upon his cryomancer skills he cast a simple freeze spell. He smiled cruely as the sorrow and pain deep inside him gathered in his hand, Words icy and hollow fell from his lips.
From where his hand was blue motes ( I like that word) of light flickered randomly, dancing around the rope until it looked as though the rope was glowing blue.

" Grog get cold, cold burning!" The ogre wimpered in contempt.

The blue light condensed and solidified into ice, when the ogre made a move to escape the coldness the rope shattered like cube of ice shatters on a stone floor.

Suprised the ogre craddled his rists and smiled at Furanthas.

" Your welcome. I'm Furanthas and this is Ku Y'leh. We are traveling to Schalsea to the citadel of light. You may join us if you wish, maybe we can find Ghostbuster there?" Fury gestured to himself then to Ku with a beaming smile then motioned south west towards Schalsea.

The mage took ahold of Fury's arm and pulled him to the side a bit. She dare not move too far from the Ogre...she didn't trust him and besides, the temptation if alone would be too great... (:D)

Glancing back, she spoke softly. "You seem to trust him quickly...he looks harmless, but he is still an Ogre and he was with those others...are we sure we want him tagging along?" she paused and blushed, the double meaning of her words clear in her tone.

Ku went off to take a bath leaving Furanthas to prepare their things. Seeing no horses nearby Fury thought of possible modes of transportation.

" Teleporting is possible, but we may miss something along the way. Plus the ogre.....something......" As he thought to himself a voice entered his mind. A voice that reminded Furanthas of the soft hissing of a snake.

" Follow me. Come against me. See the power of Anarchy." The voice held no identifieble traits. Man or women, Angry or sad, as if in constant change.

The presence left him as quickly as it had come, leaving a moist sweat all over Furys body.
His mouth was bone dry, bringing him to reach for his water flask.
Taking a long drink he thought about the voice, its words, what they meant.

The gods had spoken to him before and he knew the feeling of awe and wonderment when they did.
This feeling had been different, not awe but confusion. He felt no wonder for this was not a thing of beauty or beast.
Questions leapt into his mind without focus, strange questions he would never usually ask.

" Could this be the end? Should I turn back? Does Ku like me?" These and hundreds more shot across his head like so many missed arrows.

Shaking his head and summoning his inner peace the questions slowed and like a drying river ceased to flood his mind.
His hands were covered in sweat from being clenched into fists. Opening his hands terror consumed him.

In his palms lay two eye balls.
In his right sat a eye he instantly reckonized as his mothers. Its silver with speckles of blue iris stared blankly up at him.
Tears filled his eyes, sorrow he had buried along with her rose once again. In fear and pain he turned to see the other.
Anger and gut wrenching hate replaced the sorrow, he looked upon the green eye of his father. The single red dot he knew it for reflecting the suns light.

Closing his hands to shut out the sight so did he close his eyes. In the darkness of his minds eye he saw the eyes. Floating through the blackness, always staring at him. Furanthas screamed as he opened his eyes, tears trailing down his cheeks.
With a determination grown through years of hard ships he told his hands to open again. He did not flinch as they flung apart, nothing.......

Ku Y'leh smiled as the cool water rushed over her bare skin, sending it tingling and she shivered in the open air. It was a great feeling...to be clean...

She wrung out her robes and then dipped them back into the water, intend on scrubing the stains till they were gone--without magic. As she did, she began to whistle. To her surprise, a nearby bluejay answered. It had always been her mother's talent to talk to the birds...she had tried to teach her daughter and then given up, claiming Ku was too human.

The mage frowned thoughtfully. It was too beautiful here, with the soothing sounds of rushing water, to think about her mother, as such thoughts always lead to the reminder of her betrayal. So, instead, Ku Y'leh thought of her father, once or twice laughing aloud at the memory of his good humor and playfullness. Oh, she had loved her father so much...

But he was gone. For such a long time she had missed him dreadfully. And then she had met Kalia and found a true friend...but there was still always that hole, a piece of her that she had believed would forever be missing.

The song of the bluejay rose to a triumphant end and Ku stopped whistling along, looking up at the small bird. It had been edging ever closer...then, with a flutter of indignant wings, it flew away, startled as the mage suddenly laughed into the sky and flung shinning droplets of water everywhere.

"It's gone," she explained to the bird. "The hole...I'm complete..."

The bird ruffled its feathers and then sat silently as Ku got dressed in her blue robes and strapped on the Sword of Balance.

The mage headed back to camp slowly, taking the time to feel the soft grass beneath her bare feet and enjoy the soft breeze as it dryed her obsidian hair. Sunlight stretched before her on the horizon, lazily climbing through the cloudless sky only to...shatter.

A tense agony shuddered through the mage's body as she heard Fury's anguished scream. Her feet pounded on the dusty path as she ran, the sky suddenly not seeming so bright...

She arrived at camp to see Fury staring at his hands, tears streaming from his shining green eyes. She fell to her knees beside him and took his hands in her own. "What?" she whispered, her eyes wide with heartfelt concern. "Fury, please....what?""You know, Bob, it’s not that I’m too lazy…it’s that I just don’t care." –Peter Gibbins, Office Space

He stared blankly at his hands, trying to comprehend all that had taken place. A tracer of a black and blue appeared next to him, a haze of colours almost a solid form. He tryed to focus on that form and for an instant saw KuY'lehs concerned face.
In that breif moment he could see the worry and careing in those eyes, her lips motioning the word help. He thought of her in his minds eye, like a magical picture show images began to play.
A picture of her riding hard against the wind, her horse black as night driving to gain speed.
lunitaris fiery glow covered the land with a coat of blood, her black hair wiping behind her.
She turned and looked at him, her expression full of laughter and a hint of play full seduction.
He felt himself smile in return as if a reflex to hers.

Then his focus left her and went to the sky ahead, a storm covered the horizon.
Lunitaris light was extinguished and a new light burst into life. A green light illuminating the storms dark clouds, lightning flash's snaked across the bottom of the clouds like dragons in the midst of battle. Darting from every direction, some clashing into others exploding as they touched.
Furanthas looked back to Ku who was still smiling at him, his arm appeared his hand pointing in warning.

As she turned to see the uncoming danger his attention was caught by a gleam of light, like that of a blade catching sunlight. Like a seeing spell his vision zoomed towards this distraction, glowing green eyes filled his vision.
Slowly he came to see the whole of the face, a face not to far from his own. Blonde hair like his only a shade darker, his demenor was almost the same, an intelligent and dangerous expression cast this mans face though.
In his ear hung a loop like his only black as onix and a green gem in the middle. The mans smile reminded Furanthas of the way he used to smile, a dark and wolfish grin.

Furys veiw increased and he saw that the man was farely built. Standing around the same height, he wore black pants with the armour of a dragon knight. A chest plate of black and green inlaid dragon designs covered the mans chest and shoulders.
A single dark green gauntlet covered his left forearm, his left hand opened and a swirling mist of green light seemed to alight in response. In his right was a sword Furanthas knew, a sword he knew as his silver dragon staff Furan.
A shiver of disgust crept over Furanthas as he looked to that sword. Black ivory hilt with a black dragon stretched towards the base, in its toothed maw sat a green pulsating emerald.

The mans gaze had been locked on fury as he noticed his dress and weapons, when he looked back at those glowing eyes he saw them look towards some where else. The veiw snapped back to him riding behind Ku, she was rearing her horse trying to turn from the storm.
Fury felt the charge of magic and heared a roll of thunder, he yelled out to Ku but no sound could be heard over the boom.
Furanthas looked to the sky and was awed by the sight, the green bolts of lightning were circling in the middle of the clouds. Slowly they flew closer and closer, like an aerial dance performed by dragons of pure lighting.
A flash of white brightened the land for as far as Furanthas could see as the dragons met as one. The green lightning streaked from the single collection towards them, a massive dragon head shaped the tip of the bolts.
It dropped from the sky and shot foward straight at Ku, Fury's gaze met her silver eyes a moment before the bolt found its victim. In those eyes he saw love then a terrible expression of pain, his heart burned in his chest.
He closed his eyes in disbeleif annd opened them to see the camp once again. The wind blew softly against his cheek, he could hear a voice like a sweet morning bird calling to him.

" Fury what happened? Are you Ok. Please at least look at me?" Ku looked at him from he knelt possition beside him.

In his hand he felt the warmth of hers and he looked at her then. He saw those eyes still filled with love and he wanted only to protect her, wipping the remains of tears from his face he helped her rise.
She hugged in thightly as if he had been gone for years, he returned the hug and inside his chest his heart cooled once again.

" We must hurry. There is a nightmare out there none should dream." His voice was cold and sturn with confidence. H

His eyes had changed though he didn't know it were as his other side shows, Gold iris's with a slit of silver like that of a dragon.

"Please tell me...so that I might be prepared," she added, trying to sound like she believed this excuse. Her hands had not left his and she felt as if she would never let go, never give life the chance to snatch him away..."You know, Bob, it’s not that I’m too lazy…it’s that I just don’t care." –Peter Gibbins, Office Space

Fury looked at her for a long moment, trying to find the words.
Words that would only mask the true evil.
Evil beyond definition, limited only by times slow passing.

" That storm...... It wasn't natural...I... I don't know why its here..The citadel of light....we must hurry." His voice was calmer now yet still shook with some uncertainty.

" Please I'll tell you the details later." He looked longingly into her bright eyes. With a gentle brush of his fingers he swept away her tears.

Pulling him to her they embraced, her hair falling freely across his face. Her breath hot on his neck.

" I will defend you till my heart beats no more." At this he kissed her cheek and smiled softly.Tis better to have loved and lost.

Stepping away from Ku yet never releasing her hand Furanthas summoned the ogre.

Gesturing for him to standing next to them, the ogre complied a suspicious look plastered his face.

" This be magic?"The ogre asked, brow raised in question.

Furanthas smiled at the ogre and then turned his gaze towards the sky. The clouds danced on the open air like sheep carelessly grazing. He thought to himself of the citadel, its shimmering white towers. The floating stair leading to a place not defined by words. Spiraling up into the clouds, a lace of golden light strung from heaven to earth.

Holding this picture in his head he began drawing symbols with his hands in the air. Words, almost a melody came from his lips straight from memory.
Still the picture of the Citadel held firm in his mind.
Lights sprung out of nothing all around them, tiny flashes like those caught on gold or silver jewels.

The lights multiplyed and soon covered them in a blanket of sparkling. From within the blanket they saw only light, not offensive light that blinds, but comforting light. A sudden rush of wind began circling them, its force causing even the ogre to check his footing. Then silence....

" Now we look upon Schalsea." Furanthas spoke this with short breaths. The spell had taken more out of him than he had originally planned.

The blanket melted from the top cascading upon itself yet never falling upon them. Slowly it fell into the ground and was gone, a single sparkle hung in the air and with a gesture from Fury it was gone.

The smell of salt water hit their noses as if a physical blow, Fury coughed for a breif moment but regained his composure quickly.
They stood upon a cliff just above the shoreline, behind them rythmic lapping of waves against beach could be heard.
Infront they looked out upon the isle, seeing a glimmering in the distance Furanthas nodded his head towards it.

" The citadel..." As he looked closer he saw smoke trails raising from the city.

" The citadel is burning." His voice quivered as he realised the cause.

((OOC:

K this is when the quest truly begins.

Lol! And how long have we been at this...? :P))

Ku Y'leh gripped Fury's hand as his magic enveloped her as a warm blanket, his arcane words sounding to her as the holiest of choirs, sweet and almost painfully beautiful. Gold and Silver motes danced though her fingers, as she reached out to grasp the elusive jewels of pure light.

The images and feeling of his hand in hers almost drove away the memory of his expression, the pain and fear inspired by his dream, the haunting uncertainties that lay, so far, domant beneath the surface of their quest, domant but never to be forgotten...

She gazed upon the comforting motes and shut her silver eyes. They were but a lie, to be comforted now was to be foolish...

Eventually, the lights stopped shimmering through her eyelids and a strong gush of wind forced to the half-elf to open her eyes, if only to regain her footing. A stunning silence followed and then...

"Now we look upon Schalsea."

Ku frowned, not at this statement but at the breathless nature in which it was offered. Gripping his hand harder, the mage subtly transfered some of her own magic to him and had anyone looked, they would have seen a soft blue light leak from between their clasped hands.

Furanthas did not notice that some of his strength had returned. His eyes were rooted in the distance. The half-elf looked there and caught her breath. Clouds of smoke obscured the white of the Citadel, depositing soot on every pure surface its wisps could reach. Shouts rang through the city, the cry of the damned, the hopeless...

Her fists clenched, the mage looked briefly at the Phoenix Star. It sparkled in the darkened sky, shining through smoke and cloud and reaching only her silver eyes.

"We have to help them," she said, startling the silence and a nearby flock of birds, which were sent crying into the sky. Starting down the ravine towards the city, the half-elf practically flew, running over solid ground as often as not, held aloft by magic and a need to understand...

Ku's blue robes waved madly in the wind as she ran towards the citadel.
Hovering only a foot or so above the ground, he whatched as quickly closed the gap between her and the citadel.
Furanthas looked to the ogre sizing up his speed, seeing that he could'nt hope to keep up Fury reached into his robes.

From one of his secret pockets he removed what looked to be a child ball.
Orange and covered in red magical inscriptions he handed it to the ogre.

" You throw it as far as you can when it lands you'll be there. Understand?" His eyes were filled with impatience and the ogre saw it.

Grog nodded in understanding and drew his arm back throw.
Before he released the ball Fury had already begun blitzing ( FF10 :) ) after Ku Y'leh.

His feet never touching the ground for more than a instant he was more agile than any elf.
Leaping over stones and closing quickly on Ku, the wind wipped at his face but he barely felt.
The adrenaline and speed of running had always fascinated him.
The feeling of freedom and carelesness was a soothing balm to his normaly serious life.

Before he knew it he was only a few yards behind her, looking, back he was impressed to see the orange ball flying just a bit to his left.
It landed and the ogre stood infront of it, appearing out of thin air a Wide grin on his face.
Reaching down grog picked the instrument up again and heaved it forward once more.

She couldn't breath.

It was as if a weight was pressing the air out of her, constricting her throat, feeding her tears. Her blue robes swirled unnoticed...she had just stopped but it was as if she had always been there and always would be there...staring at the terror...

The ground flowed red, with a few barren sparks of crystal being all that was seen of the once beautiful city. People stood, their faces blank with dispair, death mounting unseen before their misunderstanding eyes.

Ku Y'leh swallowed the urge to round them and force them to flee. None were doing so. They believed there was no point. She turned instead to the citadel, to the great staircase where a woman sat...

Her legs, trembling, curled around a broken stair, her long lavish hair laying flat over hunched shoulders. She looked upward, a slightly proud and defiant tilt to her chin, but the feeling didn't reach her hollow eyes. Ku Y'leh watched her for a moment before realizing that this was the legendary barbarian princess...Goldmoon...

A small sound reached her pointed ears and grew...the sound of laughter... The half-elf glanced around, expecting to see a citizen that had been driven over the edge with insanity...but the sound was coming from above...

Turning slowly, as if in a cruel dream from which she could not wake, the mage looked up and up...

BIC:
The fear in the peoples eyes wittled away at furys soul, he more than once thought of stopping to help the helpless.
To bring some comfort to those who just lost the ones they loved.
Neither of these things could be, he couldn't let Ku out of his sight. Her black hair catching his eye down the street.
He heard the ball hit the ground infront of him, before the ogre appeared he was running towards Ku.

As he approached the maiden he noticed goldmoon sitting at the base of the stair.
Looking up at something he had yet to see.

A pair of green eyes looked down from the stairs at Ku Y'leh, eyes apart of a face he had seen minutes before.
About twenty feet up sat the man from Furanthas's vision, the same sadistic expression plastered on his face.
He looked like a stain of black and green upon the stair, in his lap sat a sword.
A sword Furanthas reckonized as his own, the same twisted sword from his vision.

Its black ivory hilt and dark grey blade seemed to fit with this dark man.
Panic began to build in Furys mind, the memorie of Ku burning in the green lightning.
As he moved towards Ku the man stood, showing no sign of doubt as he raised to his full height.

" You did this? How dare you set foot upon the sacred stairs." Furanthas spoke clear over the roar of raging flames.

" I may sit or stand where ever I wish...Furanthas.
Besides the veiw is tremendous!" The mans voice was deep and filled with sarcasm.

At this he began decending, step by step coming ever nearer to goldmoon.
As he reached the bottom he looked down upon the great leader.
Pity filling his green eyes as he raised a flat palm towards her.

Furanthas knew this gesture and crossed his arms infront of his chest.
The mans spell hadn't been cast, yet he could feel the power already beating upon his magic sheild.
Flames leapt from the mans hands, like a speeding wave of flame it ingulfed the princess.
Furanthas felt the heat on his face and focused harder, his sheild so far protecting goldmoon.

Only a moment after the flames died, Furanthas saw the grey blade raised to strike.
With all his inhuman speed he drew his sword and countered the deathblow.
Ku Y'leh without hesitation moved in and pulled Goldmoon away.

Furanthas held Furan against its dark twin, the two blades sending sparks flying where the blades touched.
In this position Furanthas looked up into the mans face.
Before words could be spoken the black Furan sliced towards Furys neck.
To parry the blow Fury had to give up a step, step the man took and continued his attack.
High and low arcs flashed at Furanthas, met by his own sword.

They locked in a power struggle, furan on top of its dark replica.
The other man shot a kick into Furanthas stomach.
Falling to his knees Furys gaze caught a fist just before feeling the pain in his face.
He flew backwards from the punch, landing on his back, bringing his legs over his head.
He threw his legs forward raising himself from the ground, as he stood full upwards he took a defensive stance.

OOC: K this will have to do for now. The idea is a fight between the evil green guy and me.
I can't win so you'll have to help. Finish later.

Ku Y'leh stood, stunned, as Furanthas faced the dark man with the blazing green eyes. There was something between them, a shared past, heritage...expression...she couldn't quite...something...

Their expression, their faces...they had similarities that make the half-elf shudder in fear and revulsion.

Fury is nothing like that man! she mentally shouted at the world, feeling as if she were rooted to the spot...something...

They spoke and Ku Y'leh glared at Fury's back with savage pride at his courage. Furanthas shifted, unaware that he had been in her line of sight, and Ku got a full view of the dark man.

She frowned and forced herself to study him...to notice his sword, a dark imitation of Furan. He came forward and before she knew it, the half-elf was running forward, pulling Goldmoon out of the line of fire. The two twin blades met, sparking as twin green eyes blazed into each other.

Ku Y'leh stifled a yell. She wanted to jump in and help her love...but Goldmoon moaned and the half-elf took precious seconds to stop the bleeding from a large gash in her side. She glanced up as often as she could, trying to plan an attack...but she was distracted, she couldn't help noticing how similar they were...their eyes, the way they held their twin swords...the small mannerisms...

She tore her gaze away and blinked back tears. Why was this happening? She watched helplessly as Fury lost step after step, her hands soaked in the blood of an old woman...it would just not stop flowing...Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching on magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.
