Marcus screamed as he awoke from his dream.

I'm back...

Dragging himself away from his bed he made his way to a window to stare down on the city of Palantas.

It's been a year since Biggs and Wedge saved me from Mertonius. But why do I keep on dreaming that?

He watched as a dozen cars made their rounds around the paved street of Palanthas, the capital of Solamnic Republic. Several Solamnic Police Officers, in their crisp white and silver uniforms, made their way through the bustling streets of the city. To his right, he could still see the Temple of Paladine, its newly refurbished walls and beautiful park.

I wonder what would happen now...

(OOC: If your wondering what kind of place is this it is very easy to explain. This is a different time stream, a future time stream where Marc came from. Here, Magic and High Technology thrives. Hell, Marcus is actually a mage who rides a motorbike. Hand guns replaced daggers and staffs for mages, warriors cary bigger weapons, clerics, well their still clerics and are now truly forbidden to carry weapons. Kenders are still kenders. Basically, imagine Krynn as if it is Earth now.)And darkness took his soul and made it it's own, forever trapped in the endless nothingness that is the heart of darkness...

Dag sneered at the officers. They held his kind down they did, all you had to do was look around and you'd see it.
They looked down on him though they really had to look up. This thought was hilarious to Dag and he burst out laughing, though he was near tears. Looking up at the appartment caused the many chained peircings in his face and body jingle musically. It was all right, THIS minotuar had a plan. He was moving on up. Looking up at the apartment building he got a better hold on his baseball bat. "That's right," he muttered. "I'm not taking any more of their shit."
Dag opened the door to the building and went inside, without a thought he went up the stairs and randomly chose a room.
"This'll do."
He threw his shoulder into the door blasting it off his hinges. Inside was a human standing solemnly by the window. Dag almost turned around... this man had so much sorrow to him. Shaking his head and clearing it of these soft thoughts the minotuar said,
"All right human, give me everything of value that you own."Arthur- Camelot!

Dargon walked through the bustling streets, he did not have to force his way through or detour around many people as most simple got out of his way.

Must be the uniform he thought to himself as he caught a glimpse of his refection in a nearby shop window. The white and silver uniform seamed to shimmer with it's own light.
He was very proud of the uniform, as he had only recently been accepted into the force. Likewise he liked the way the police issue pistol banged rhythmically against his leg as he walked. He was offered one of those holsters that hold the weapon close to the body, the ones that strap over his chest but he always had trouble drawing the gun from that position so he opted for an old fashioned holster that hung from his belt. On his left side hung a sword, worn more out of tradition than actual practicality since nearly everyone hand a gun of some sort, still he felt oddly reassured by the heavy weapon.

His radio interrupted his day dreaming as a report of a petty theft came in.

Probably a Kender he thought to himself and he could well do with out those little annoyances today. Luckily it was the other side of the city and some else had responded.
Looking around as he walked he took stock of the area. Most of those he passed were human like himself but occasionally he would see a group of elves walking around in their fine clothing and better than the rest attitude.

Smiling to himself glad that all seamed right with the world he continue on his rounds.

Ooc what time of the day / night is this set ?

Elenisukardiwan loved the way the shutter snapped when she clicked the button on her camera. She couldn't wait to get these pictures developed! Palanthas was usually such a beautiful city, but while her colleages were captureing city-scape sunsets and glistening fountains, Elen focused on the grittier parts of town. So far she had an altercation between a group of elves and a kender, a Solamnic Police checking himself out in a storefront, and a dead cat by a daisy rising up through some cracks in an alleyway. As she wound her old, yet reliable, camera, she glanced down the road towards an apartment building, and noticed a minotaur looking with determination at it, baseball bat in hand. Creeping around a corner, Elen snapped him as he entered. "What're you up to, I wonder . . ." She said to herself. She paused a moment, trying to figure out if it were anything serious, then decided that if it was, she'd rather get it on film. Carefully, she followed the 'taur into the apartment complex. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Erika headed down one of the main streets in Palanthas. She looked around her as she went and it was obvious she was looking for someone.

Up ahead she saw a young officer in a crisp white uniform who looked fresh out of the academy. She hurried up to him and got his attention.
"Officer Dargon?" he nodded and she smiled "I'm Officer Erika Uth Mantel, I've been assigned as your partner" Dargon looked confused which made Erika blush "I thought you knew, I mean I only found out this morning but I was told to meet you on this street for the morning rounds."

Slightly uncomfortable she absently played with the silver trimming on her new white uniform which was basically the same as the male version except for the fittings around the chest and hip area. Erika carried two silver pistols strapped to her legs as well as the customary electric shock baton that all officers carried. Her shoulder length blonde hair was covered by a white Police cap with silver trimming but she took this off and tucked it under her arm as she talked to Dargon.

"Maybe there's been a mistake, should I radio back to headquarters to inquire?"

Renyard Muldrake looked about her, her purple streaked hair blowing furiously about her half-elf face. Her not quite almond shaped eyes looked around her intently, and shone with all the intelligence and cunning of an expert theif. Her full lips were pursed tightly in irritation. *Where has that damn cow-head got too!* she fumed. She could not believe that it had been so easy to loose one of those things! Shebegan to lightly jog off in the direction she thought she smelled him go, the stud in her nose glittering in the sunlight. She stopped still, the smell of the beast becoming overwhelming, and she noticed a dorr thathad obviously been violently opend because it was now only hanging on one hinge. She stole up the staris with all the expertise her proffesion granted and saw another door, totally bashed in. Renyard kept close to the wall, and she heard the Minatour speak to whoever was inside. Before the minotaur can finish what he was saying, Marcus was already behind him. Using his increased psychometabolic abilities he launched a series of devastating kicks into the midsection of the minotaur.

As he landed lightly on his toes an eerie light started to enfold him.

He faded from sight....

A sound of a gun being cocked ringed in the dark room.

Then the lights suddenly flashed on.

"Dag? May the Abyss freeze over! It's you. Dammit! Don't go barging into my room like that. Sh*t, I almost killed you."

Marcus slowly helped his old comrade at arms to his feet.

Dag grinned sheepishly (or is that bullishly?) and stood. "Damn! What number is this? Sorry Marc, you know I've got troubles with memory." Standing the Minotuar fixed a chained nose ring that had become entangled with his horn. Rubbing his side he chuckled, "Nice work by the way... anyone else would've had a bruise, or maybe a set of broken ribs you know-" Stopping the minotuar sniffed. Amazing! Elen could not believe her luck as she snapped the camera over and over, but then things became quiet, and she paused, stepping quietly back from the doorway hoping she hadn't been heard. She took one last look in, and seeing the Minotaur in obvious pain, she caught her breath. This would make one awesome shot! If she could just do it without them noticing . . . She carefully leaned her camera around the corner, and snapped the lens, then sat back against the corridor wall and started to wind the film. "Finished." She said to herself, smiling.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gahgor the dwarven weaponsmith toils at his worshop. The finest weapons in the buissnes were made by Gahgor. He made the best traditional dwarven weapons (bazookas) and also the traditional burial bazookas, much better then those off the line weapons. In fact, Gahgor was just now making a KingCannon. A finely tuned bazooka with marvelous range and almost 2 kilo slugs. It was for the Hylar Thane himself, back in the brightly lighted (by electricity) caves of Thoarbardin.
Gaghor looks at the weapon, already almost done. It shines red! Yes, it is fitting to be a KingCannon, Reorx himself has blessed it with his power! Dwarves being dwarves, whatever the time, Gaghor can't stop thinking of the price of the KingCannon. Oh, so much gold that he could fill his living room with it and still have room to spare!
His fantasies are disturbed by the sound of commotion in the house next to the smithy. "What the hell? Is Marcus having another of those wild parties? I'll call him in for disturbing the peace!" "I should become a lesbian"- Quiralanthalasa ,in a moment of deep reflection on her life.

I've just graduated from the academy and this is my first assignment." they continued walking along the footpath looking around for any signs that may need their investigation but everything seemed normal.

Erika was about to comment on the lack of action when the voice of their commanding officer broke the silence *Dargon and Mantel teleport back to Head quarters, I want to see you both immediately* Erika looked at Dargon and shrugged her shoulders "Maybe we've been chosen for undercover work, I heard a rumor that they needed two young officers to work undercover at some club" suddenly realising that it was highly unlikely that they would be chosen Erika looked away and blushed. The ogre shambled over to the electrical box and threw on the breakers for the outside lights. He had been the bouncer at this club for two years, and he was becoming bored. "Lights 'r on boss. You want me to get out th' stamp or 'm I on patrol tonight?" he asked.

Conflicting thoughts raced through Marc's mind as he rode his bike towards a section of the city, a section left derelict and in ruins.

The old part of Palanthas, the ghetto around my home...

A dark tower rose up into his view, a tower surrounded by massive oak trees. Oak trees enchanted by the lost souls devoured by the magic of his lost father, Llylgamun of the Black Robes, Avatar of Nuitari, restorer of black magic.

At the behest of the mighty Mertonius, Llylgamun managed to procure a number of intraplanar artifacts capable of returning the gods of Krynn. These artifacts shaped a powerful planar time rift wherein Mertonius contacted the lost Three Gods of Magic. With this power, he made a binding contract with them, using his children as the bargaining chips for the return, in exchange that he bound beyond time and space.

The bargain sealed, the children of Mertonius became the living representations of the three gods...

Torminius of the Sword...
Quirandia of the Tome...
Llylgamun of the Eyes...

Now, these three constellations wheel and move above the heavens of Krynn, the symbol of the new age...

These thoughts pass through Marc's mind as he hurried towards to Tower, his home, the Heart of Darkness within Palanthas... And darkness took his soul and made it it's own, forever trapped in the endless nothingness that is the heart of darkness...

"Well we'd best be on our way, you know what he is like if he is kept waiting"
Turning around he headed back towards the station.
"You know I would not mind a bit of undercover work if they are offering. It always looked exciting on the T.V."

As they headed back a young woman came diving around a corner, crashing into them both.

"Oops, sorry about that . . . " she said sheepishly as she regained her balance.

"No harm done ma'am, just as long as you have not hurt yourself." Dargon replied looking around the corner to see if she was being chased by anyone.

"Just be a little more careful where you are running in future miss. If you are sure you are ok we will be on our way" seeing that the woman was ok he continued towards the station.

A few moments later the pair headed up the white steps towards the door of the station, stopping to compose himself Dargon looked back the way they had come.

"I hate being called in, always makes me feel as if I am in trouble." Taking a deep breath he was about to enter when he looked back again.

Renyard walked the streets of Palanthas, the growing darkness already making her feel more at home in this place. She looked at her watch and noted the time at 8:30 pm. She paused and sighed. All she had wanted to do was talk to that miotaur and try and convince him to join her gang, which at the moment only consisted of her! She sighed again as she blew a strand of her purple streaked hiar out of her eyes and looked around her, sitting herself down on an old wooden crate as she pondered what had happened to her over the past few days........
She watched as the homeless and deperate walked about, wearing rags and begging for morsels or wearing lycra and parading themselves on the corners of the streets, waiting for anyone with a hard-on bigger than his wallet. She realised that she had reached the ghetto's and was amazed to find out how well she snapped back into synch with them, almost like she had never left...........
She sighed once again as she mulled over what had happened. How did they find out that she was running her own scam? The plan had been fool proof! all she had to do was make sure that she stole enough that no one would notice if she skimmed a little off the top.....someone must have grassed, but who???
Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the screeching sound of a motorbike, and she lept up in time to avoid becoming a pancake. "Hey, watch what your doing!" she yelled after the motor cyclist. As the rider turned round towards her, she noticed the eyes, and recognised them as belonging to the person who had been speaking to the Minotaur. Her curiosity was well and truly sparked now, and she pressed a button on the side of her boots, producing small wheels on the bottom of them. She muttered a few words and the boots reved into life. Marcus, deep in thought, ignored everything around him, even as he nearly rode down a young woman that passed by.

He came to stop near the edge of a grove of dead trees. The ancient Shoikan Grove protected the abode of his demi-god father. The leaves of the trees shook as he made his way through the haunted trees, ignoring the undead guardian that led his bike as he walked on foot towards his home.

A quick glance on his Nevermind Chronometer showed that the it is 20:53. He always had trouble identifying with the way gnomes made their chronometers.

Let that foolish person be taken by the dead, good riddance I say!

Then, after a few moments of hesitation, decided against it.

He turned to one of the guardians, several were already hovering nearby, waiting to do his bidding.

"Have her taken to the dungeons. Have her 'questioned' by one of the apprentices. I have more urgent business to conduct..."

Erika and Dargon entered their commander's office after being kept waiting for about half an hour. They stood at attention and saluted their commander "at ease officers, take a seat we are pressed for time." The two exchanged confused glances as they sat, while the commander remained standing.

He began to pace the length of his desk back and forth as he spoke. "The reason I have called you here is you have been chosen by the department for an undercover job that is to take place tonight." Erika looked amazedly at Dargon who returned a similar look.

Their commander continued "No doubt you would have heard of the Club Wayworth, it carries quite a reputation for being a place of ill repute yet it is very popluar with the youth. It is, of course, situated in the ghettos." he looked down his imperious nose as he said that last line as if he had a bad taste in his mouth. "We needed two young officers, one male and one female, and they had to be in sync with todays youth. Basicly you two are the chosen ones."

Erika took all the sudden information in but was confused "What exactly will we be doing undercover at this club?"

Their commander stopped pacing "The club has been involved in the past with such offences as servicing underage patrons and it has also been know as the 'hang out' for smalltime gangs who use it for a place of 'business' so to speak. But our main concern is the recent information we have been given which has led us to believe that it is the hideout of the infamous Thieves Guild, for which you are aware, we have been searching for for years." he paused dramatically and looked at both of them through his stone grey eyes and bushy eyebrows.

"Your job is basic surveillance, you will arrive at the club at around 10:15 dressed in the appropriate attire. Buy yourselves some drinks and try and pick up as much information as you can. You are to report back here at 0600 hours tomorrow, no later. Do you understand?" the two officers nodded and their commander looked pleased. "Good, now go and sort out clothing and whatever else and I'll see you here tomorrow." the two started to leave when the commander called out to them "Officers, be careful you have no idea what kind of rough necks hang out at places like this."

Erika and Dargon left the office of their commander. Erika squealed in delight "Yes! this is just the kind of job i wanted. this is going to be so exciting! I can't believe how lucky we are." she calmed down a little "So I guess we should get some clothes then head over to the ghetto, okay?"

She had also changed into a costume that would help her blend into the club scene. She now wore tight purple leather pants and a black midriff top that was also emblazoned with a logo that was considered cool to young people. Her hair was temporarily dyed red and her make up was a far cry from the natural shades she was so used to. Her outfit was finished off with a pair of black chunky combat boots that she found difficult to walk in.
But to anybody who saw them they looked exactly like the usual clientele of club Wayworth.

Erika thought of different names and said them aloud to herself "lets see...Star, Tika, Kat, Akira....hmmm....Akira, I like that one...Yep, thats the one" she looked up at Dargon who obviously was finding all this as much fun as she was "So what's your new identity?" she asked laughing.

Elen had stopped at her studio apartment on her way to Club Wayreth, checking her answering machine and the cell phone she never carried with her to find both empty. This didn't bother her in the respect that guys weren't falling all over her, but that no one wanted to publish her photos. She changed into something a little more hip, tight python-skin flare pants, black stilletto heels, and a tight beige halter-top, and pulled her long black hair up into a hap-hazard pile on her head. She pulled out the worn portfolio that she took everywhere she thought she might meet possible employers. Why she thought she'd find them at a club, she coulnd't answer, but she took the small, electronic art portfolio and slipped it in to the hidden pocket on the inside of her pants. She grabbed her camera case, slipped some loose bills and a Cash Card into one of the less obvious pockets, and then continued to the bar.

She took a deep breath as she walked in. Stale smoke from the previous night and a faint odor of beer hung in the dim, warm air as she entered, noding to the Ogre. Besides a few straglers, she noticed a familiar looking couple and the minotaur from earlier. She took a seat at the bar, set her camera case on the counter, and ordered an imported beer, then took a few discreet glances at the couple. Once she recognized them, she tried not to look back in their direction. *Of all the bars, I had to pick the one with the police . . .* Not that it would really effect an elf like herself, but it still made her rather uncomfortable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(( I've called my char. Kag a couple times... it's Dag *Slaps self* )

Dag sniffed again and looked over at one person entering with the rest of the crowd. Squinting he looked at the elf woman again. His memory wasn't great and neither was his vision but he thought she was the same girl from earlier, and she had the camera....

Putting on his best imitation of a smile (it always seemed to put the lesser races at ease) the minotuar approached her seat at the bar. Dag was by most standards not the sharpest knife in the cuttler's shop. He had dropped out of highschool as a freshman with a 0.65 GPA. He had lived on the streets working various odd jobs until Marc found him. But living on the streets had given him a different sort of intelligence. Not book smarts, but animal instinct. It had made him cunning. Dag was a great bullshitter ((heh)) and he had a plan...

Sitting next to her and adjusting the seat so he wasn't towering over her he said, "Hey hun, aren't you the same girl from earlier today? Sorry about that. I just ain't the type who likes to be snuck up on ya know?" looking down he pretended to notice the camera for the first time.
"Hey!" He exclaimed. "That must've been a good one" Dag chuckled. "Is that the same roll? Cuz if so I'd really like a copy"

Dag waited for her answer. It wouldn't do well for her to have either him or the boss on film. If it was the same roll things would be easy, he'd put it on the floor and make sure no-one saw it. If she didn't, Dag would be taking a drive. If she had already developed it... well Dag hoped for her sake she hadn't. His grin widened at the thought. Business tonight or not, maybe he'd get to break something.Arthur- Camelot!

Dargon smiled as the pair walked past an ogre who was obviously watching the door but at that moment was looking in the opposite direction. Once inside the pub the pair picked a table slightly away from the rest.

"You know…Akria I had always thought that taking a different name would be easy but I just can't think. Give me a moment and I'll come up with one…ah it looks like we will have to use our real names anyway here comes the door man and he does not look happy. I'm guessing that he wants us to pay the door charge after all. Oh well at least we will get to see if they check ID here"

Reaching into his pocket he pulled out enough cash to cover them both and his ID. A dodge photo of him with long hair and a vacant expression looked back at him. His birth date puts him over the required age (what are you using 21 or 18)

The dwarf with the bazooka (hey, its a great name) waits as the Ogre checks out a couple of other customers. After a while of wating paithently (five seconds) he gets typical dwarven angry and pulls out the bazooka.

Marc cursed himself for acting boorishly and ordered the guardians to send the girl and fix her up properly.

As soonas he reached his garage, the girl was safely strapped at the passenger's side of his Ferraro Estalante sports car ( all gleaming red, highly polished with the griffin mount on the checkered field, the mark of the well known elven car company).

The sports car made good time through the city streets, traffic was light since the release of a ban on the use of gnomish diesels and dwarven monster truck on the city streets, the gnomish being banned for being a danger to all inherent life on the streets while the dwarven monster truck caused quite a stir. (It is a well known fact that the dwarves adored their monster trucks like the way they adored their beards. And again, both the hill and mountain dwarves differ in their make and design. Mountain dwaf monster trucks have larger rear tires to compensate for mountain travel. Hill dwarf Monster trucks have maintain a better suspension system than their cousins. And.. oh, where was I, oh yes...).

Marc reached the bar and drove his way at the back, his care safely parked by the parking valet at the rear.

Mid class bar in the front, high class business deals at the back, Marc thought.

He was greeted by his Sylvanesti Accountant, Otomo Gilthain. Marc gave a light chuckle at the elf's surname, placed in front. One of the few innovations that the Sylvanesti developed during their 'enlightenment' period when the gods returned was the institution of a surname. But unlike most races that used surnames they made theirs distinct by placing it in the fron of their firstnames.

Marc arrived at the private area behind the bar where business transactions involving high stake deals were made. His friend and close comrade, Dag, whom he employed as both informant and right hand man was nowhere insight. For this he was thankful. He knew what would happen if the minotaur ever came near to one of his 'cheating' business partners. Dag was too direct, would happily beat the hell out of those who stands in the way of the company. But he was loyal as a friend can be to Marc. Both served once in the military, in the same platoon at Tal' 71 (Taladas during '70's was divided into East and West Taladas, with the West supporting the Solamnic Confederation. But with the support of the United Dragonlord Socialist Republic, the East pushed back the west and invaded its capital. The war ended as a fiasco on the part of the Solamnic Confederation, its losses mounting on the 100,000s. The capital was taken on the summer of '74)

Dargon chuckled to himself as the Dwarf threatened to level the place.

Not really smoking it he just thought that it made him look less like a cop.

There is a very old and respected dwarven saying. "Ask politely first. Then punch 'em in the crotch." Gahgor smiles, and fires the KingCannon at the bar.

"Let me get that for you." He said to Elen. And he gave the Ogre (sorry I keep forgetting names) forty Solamnic notes. Standing slightly he whispered to the ogre in the gutteral tongue shared by and known only to the two brutish races,
"Give Marc a message for me. Tell him we have a girl here who has him on film, and that I'm sorry to break our date, but I had to take care of her"

A momentary scuffle from the bar diverted most of the Sylvanesti Businessmen from their discusions about the newly passed Solamnic ban on the transportation and distribution of Dewnight, a new anti-depressant drug made by Sylvanesti pharmacists to aid many of their kindred suffering from 'Long-Life' depression (this fairly occurs when an elf reaches their mid-years and they start questioning their worth. It is very much like mid-life crisis with humans except the elven variation is fatal. Suicide amongst older Sylvanesti is fairly common until the release of the drug. But if the drug is ingested by a human, it produces a very prolonged state of euphoria and well being. It also expands the consciousness of the user and improves the spell casting of mages. However, the drug was tailored only for elven use. Prolonged exposure of the drug to humans would cause severe mental excitation and can cause severe respiratory overload. AN overdose can kill a human in moments.) I thought I was alone in the dark... Now, I Know I am Alone In the Dark... Marc

She had been watching a very interesting conversation between a young elven girl and a rough looking Minotaur. She guessed the girl to be a photographer and the Minotaur seemed very interested in this from the way he kept eyeing her camera and bag. When a foul smelling ogre approached the two the Minotaur exchanged words with him in a language she couldn't interpret, but she guessed that what the Minotaur had said to the ogre and what he then said to the elf were completely different things.

She leaned in close to Dargon and whispered "somethings going on over there, that elven girl could be in trouble." She then leaned back and laughed as if they had just shared a joke.

A number of Sylvanesti in their black business suits made their way past the Minotaur and Ogre, disdain on their faces ( old habits die hard, especially with the Sylvanesti).

One of the elves however, made it a point to pass a briefcase to the Ogre, in a manner that is both slick and casual.

"Have this delivered, safely, to the docks. The papers are inside. Pay is forth comming..."

The elf (quite strange by the way, with his skin in a slight darker shade than that of the other elves) was about to make is way out, before he stopped and turned.

He whispered to the ogre and minotaur.

"Kill all and any that comes between you and delivering that package. And I mean kill all or any." A smirk danced on the somewhat placid face of the elf as he said this. Marc checked his new "Roledex" gnomish chronometer and adjusted the timepiece (though generally accepted as a useful invention, Gnomish time pieces tend to slow down by 1 minute after 24 hours).

He then takes the hidden door to the meeting area of the various very important officials of Palanthas. The mayor and the police chief took their place respectfully, the police chief at Marc's left side, the mayor at the right. Marc took out his reading glasses and started up the agenda for the meeting.

"It seems that our security measures for the production of the new dragon cannon has been breached. The Highlord Syndicate has acquired several of our advance designs and it seems that they are willing to sell it or make use of it themselves." Marc stared hard at the Police Commisioner, who blanched at the sight of the mage's furrowed eyebrows.

"However, one of my agents, Shiochi Liam of the Sylvanesti Consortium, developed a plan by which he will sent out non-working variations of the new weapon. It is his plan to trick the Highlords into stealing the blueprints as it is on route to the docks. Elsewhere..... At the distant Metropolis of Sanction....

Don Lorenzo Ariakus XXII stroked his pet displacer beast, watching as the feline arched its ebony back. Coming from a long line of criminal geniuses, Don Lorenzo was an astute businessman with a keen eye on everything he surveys. The Highlord Syndicate is the largest criminal organization, if not the best equip. Their main rival was the Solamnic Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Western Inteligence Agency. Added to that is elite corps of 'patriotic' crime bosses like Marc Mertonius and the Sylvanesti Consortium. With the protection of the Solamnic High Command, those legalized criminal organizations handled most of the black market distribution of dwarven made guns and other paraphernalia used by the police.

The aged Don turned to his consigliere, a draconian Aurak named Pietro Slomavodich. Draconians are fiercely loyal to their bosses and make for great right hand men. Don Lorenzo has thousands of them under his bank roll.

"Pietro, any words from our men at the west coast?" The old don massaged his left chin as he ran his fingers through the hair of the young boy he carried on his lap.

The consigliere gave a toothy grin, "Yes my Don, it seems that a new set of blueprints are being transported to the Qualinost via the port of Palanthas. I have already contacted several of our men to ambush the truck with the blueprints. I have also instructed them to capture anyone on the truck, for further questioning, of course..."

The Don laughed, a very lewd laughter it sounded, and waved away hjis consigliere. "It seems that you have done well Pietro. Call the others, Luigi and Marconi, and have their men ready tomorrow. Now leave! I have some business to conduct..." The don then gave the young, silent boy, a lewd leer.

They continued following the truck from behind the sports car whose passengers were still firing rounds at the truck but not doing much damage.

Pulling out his pistol Dargon began shooting at the wheels of the sports car in front. Unfortunately he has not had that much practise at shooting form the back of a moving vehicle at a moving target, so most of his shots struck the road or pinged harmlessly of the rear bumper. She searched around her and saw a ramp leading up to a row of apartments which led to a walkway that ran along the side of the building parallel with the road. She realised that if they were to drive along the walkway above the road they would be out of aim but still able to follow the two vehicles.

She revved the bike from its stationary position and sped off towards the ramp. The bike ran easily up it and continued along the walkway. Soon they had caught up to the truck and Dargon was able to keep an eye on it from diagonally above. (ooc: its a very long walkway okay ;) )

The tank shot back into motion with the mage gone, and so did the car behind it. The machine gun continued unloading on where the tank HAD been for a moment and the car behind the tank was torn to shreds. One down Dag thought. Reaching back he grabbed the elf girl and tucked her under his arm. He wasn't normally the hroic type, but he couldn't leave the girl to die in the truck. Kicking open the door he yelled, "Cm'on Butch" and Jumped out running. Somehow his massive legs were able to keep him upright and he ran ducking into an alley. He ran down the maze of dark pathways until he couldn't run anymore. Butch was nowhere in sight, the chopper sounded far away. He set the girl down.Arthur- Camelot!

Elen stepped back and angrilly smoothed out her shirt. "What the F*** do you think you're doing?! Can't a girl have a quiet drink at a bar without having mad cows and raving dwarves on her back? Geez, you'd better be glad I don't report you to the police, I've got friends in high places, you know . . ." She fumed, hoping they wouldn't realize she was bluffing.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Erika watched the the Minotaur jump out of the truck carrying the girl under his arm. He ran off down one of the dark alleyways and disappeared.

Erika tried to start the bike again but it wouldn't kick in. "Come on, we'll follow them on foot" she said to Dargon who was already getting off the bike. The two cops ran down the ramp back onto the street then ran into the alley way. It was fairly dark and visability was poor but they could make out the movement of a figure turning the corner at the end of the alley.

They followed cautiously but quickly, always keeping far enough back that they could see the figure but the figure couldn't see them.

Soon the Minotaur slowed down then stopped. Erika and Dargon stopped as well and hid against the alley wall behind some bins. Erika watched the Minotaur and could see the girl who looked unharmed. She breathed a sigh of relief and checked that her pistols were loaded then they waited, watching for what the Minotaur would do next.

Elen put her hair back up, acting as annoyed as she could despite her excitement and fear. "I suggest you take me back to the bar, buy me a drink, appologize, and go jack off elsewhere. You two are thuroughly rude and inconsiderate, and if you're going to kidnap someone, the least you could do is tell them *WHY*. Who knows, I might oblige you in whatever it was you needed . . ." Though she doubted it, if she could get them talking, that might give her enough time to think of a plan.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Stalled by the young girl's incessant haraguing, the 'police' chopper arrived on the scene, illuminating the entire waterfront. The crafts heavy guns are aimed at the group!

A group of black garbed figures leaped from the flying craft... Winged black figures!!!

The lead man, an unholy cross between man and draconian, approached the group.

"Don't try anything funny. If you so much as twitch, I'll have my men open fire. You're lucky that my boss wants everyone alive when we take them."

The figure signals to a number of heavily muscled individuals, binding the minotaur and his compatriots in industrial strength ferro-hemp ropes.

"The Don would be wanting this I presume..." The Sivak then pries the ogre's fingers, taking the case. He opens it and scans it for a moment. He then nods to another figure nearby.

"Yes, these are the blueprints."

The armed hoods herd the entire group into the cargohold of a transport, a transport destined for Sanction...

(OOC: No, you were a bit behind and managed to avoid detection. You might try tagging along. Most of everyone were stashed in the cargo hold of a cargo transport bound for Sanction.) I thought I was alone in the dark... Now, I Know I am Alone In the Dark... Marc

As Dargon watched everyone getting in to the transport. (Not really sure what type of vehicle this is)
He hastily formed a plan. Not much of a plan but it was a plan nether the less. Not being the type of man to dwell on things too much he readied himself.
Moving to the edge of the bins he whispered to Erika.

"Cover me" (I have always wanted to say that)

Darting out he ran hunched over towards the transport. Keeping out of sight or at least hopping he was.
Dargon reached the rear of the transport. Inside he could hear a few curses and general grumbling. The transport rocked violently as someone was pushed against the side, this was followed by some angry shouting, which soon quietened.
Reaching into one of his many pockets he pulled out a small tracking device. Activating the device he reached under the vehicle, attaching the device just as the transport began to move.

Running hunched over he was soon back behind the bins.

Breathing hard he grinned at Erika

" At least we can follow them at a more desecrate distance now. I have a feeling that this is a little bigger than we thought."

"Yes, it would seam that way." The mage's voice behing Dargon and Erika causes them both to jump. "Look, because of that spell I cast, the'll probably be looking for me to. You two look like you could use some help. Besides, I don't have any jobs to do right now. So, how about it? May I join you?"

"Oh, how could I forget. I am Timesplit. Tempramage and electritian."Free the flame and sear the grasses,

Elen's heart was raccing. She started thinking that she was in more trouble than she could handle, suddenly becoming entangled in something much larger than she could ever have imagined being a part of. Should she admit to taking the pictures and offer to hand them over? She decided against that because it was already too late; two sides were involved, one of which knew she had proof. She was sure the Minotaur was after the pictures, there could be no doubt about that. But whether or not these new people had any idea . . . Elen shivered."I think our definitions of yelling are different, because when you said I yelled at you , I hadn't thought that I did."

The boat rocked and as the waves hit it. It has been 3 days since they left for Sanction. Rats and other types of undesirable things crawled all over the cargo hold of the ship. All around them were stacked crates filled with canned goods which provided them food for the journey. The group were unable to move around as much since the only way out of the hold was a single, heavily locked and grated door... I thought I was alone in the dark... Elen had been on boats before, not quite in such cramped quarters, however she didn't attribute her queasy stomach to the pitch of the boat, but to the thought that at any moment, something might happen. She lay curled up on her bunk, her back to the world. She had let her hair down, and held the bumblebee camera, this time really rubbing it for luck. Why were they going to Sanction? Who were these people? Was the minotaur working for someone, or was he alone? She was too tired, too afraid to pursue her thoughts, and merely shivered periodically. She desperately wanted to situation to change . . somehow! Good or bad, she could care less at this point, but the anxiety and anticipation of the unknown were, for once, killing her."I think our definitions of yelling are different, because when you said I yelled at you , I hadn't thought that I did."

Three small figures popped into the room where the captives where held...

"Hey Mac, are you sure they're the ones the boss wanted to bust out?"

"Yeah, I'm sure Guy. They're the ones the boss wanted to bust out."

"Vern, your always worrying. Besides, that electronic lock would be fun to disable!"

The three kenders (one would have to be blind to not notice that they are triplets) proceeded to examine the electronic lock, taking note of what its make (elven electronic key card), age (3 years) and possible way of disabling it.

Mac, the one kender wearing the checkered shirt, pulled out a Kender Multi-Purpose Army Knife and slid the special alloyed silver toothpick from its side into an access hole of the card lock.

Guy, the kender in white shirt and with a slightly lighter tone of hair, opened one of the emergency first aid kit from a small compartment in a corner of the cargo hold. He pulled out a strip of gauze and unwound it.

Vern, the kender wearing dark sunglasses, opened a power out let that ran to the ship's power core.

The three worked efficiently, using whatever was available. After a moment or two, the three have succesfully constructed whatever they are constructing.

Mac giggled as Guy pulled the switch, Vern watching apprehensively at the lock.

Power surged through the brine soaked gauze wad, the electrical surge going off unnoticed. The sudden rush of electricity into the circuitry of the lock scrambles its coding and locking system.

The grated door suddenly opened!

"Well, that certainly worked!"

With this, Mac hugged Guy and Vern.

Elen heard some commotion behind her and looked to see three kenders tampering with the lock. Hesitantly, she sat up and watched, then smiled as the grate opened. The photographer in her never died, and she took her bumblebee pin and snapped away."I think our definitions of yelling are different, because when you said I yelled at you , I hadn't thought that I did."
