With the fall of the Controllers of Krynn, Mertonius the Mad One, waged war with the few mortals strong enough to battle him. But the overwhelming tide of madness that flowed from the bowels of the Citadel of Eternal Damnation was far too much for the Heroes of Twilight.

Thus the forces of Good and Evil were forced to hole up in isolated corners of the land, as the Chaotic reign of the Mad One began...

This is your story, the journeys, the hardships, the sacrifices, of the descendants of the Heroes of Twilight...

(Everyone, time to get creative on your hero creation. The line between Good and Evil has blurred and all must do what they can to survive this harsh world. Think of this as a Post-Apocalyptic Krynn. Anyone ever played Fallout?)

Don't get too ambitious. You can't take on the Mad One..... For now....Suddenly, there was a flash of light. And then there was..........Me

Bodk growls at the ragged humans and elves who try to come near him and particapate in his meal. "Mine!" he barks. "Only mine!"
He stares at them with his yellow eyes until they scuttle away, leaving him to pick the meat from the bones.Bodk was human, once. But the Madness, The Chaos, the fallout of raw magic and power that had ravaged Kyrnn had changed him in somehow. His eyes turned yellow gradually, his skin too, and other things, inner things about him changed.
He could sense emotion sometimes, now. Sometimes he could even change them,if they weren't too strong. And the thing, the power, was growing. Bodk had once to extert himself up to exauhstion to make a group of starved people run away, but now he could do it without breaking a sweat. And he could feel that something else was happening, deep within him , the raw magic changing him even further....and he could not stop it.
So he went from place to place, finding animals and forcing them to coem to him by his powers, then eating them. He survived, which many did not.

Garn slipped through the forest, making not a sound. He had been watching a thing. A man-beast known as Bodk. The creature had power, and he had been charged by what remained of his people to watch the monster. To see if it could be used in some way. Maybe even to battle the Mad One himself.

Garn left no mark in his passage through his home, the remains of an elven forest. The forest was named, but none spoke it. Noone could bring themselves to utter the word Cairnalost, or, when translated from dwarven, Tomb of the Elves. Garn's four foot frame passed from tree to tree, heading back to the dwarven village in the ruins of Silvanost. He had much to report this day. With but a whisper of the wind, the dwarf was gone."Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?"

Tash slipped through the crumbling buildings which had once been places of joy and merriment. Places like Inns and music halls were now just dark skeletons of rubble and debris.

She was heading back to the thieves guild which had been set up in the old library, one of the buildings that was still in reasonable condition. She had grown up within the guild being taken in as an orphaned three year old. There she had been trained every day of her life in the art of thievery, though the guild members didn't call it this anymore, now they called it the art of survival.

Still young at seventeen, Tash was a thief of the highest calibre and she used her skills, speed, sword arm or charm and good looks to get her whatever she needed to make it through each day.

Up ahead of her she could see a group of mangy human beggars and she cursed. Although the humans were unarmed and very weak, at the slightest smell of food they could turn into a pack of vicious dogs and they wouldn't hesitate to kill. She glanced at the bag of food bits she carried and held it tighter as she crept from shadow to shadow trying to bypass the humans altogether.

As she got closer she saw that the humans were staring and moaning at something. She looked harder and saw a man-beast with yellowed skin and eyes ripping apart a fresh carcass. She recognised the beast and knew it as Bodk, she had heard all the stories about the powers it possessed and knew that this beast never went hungry. She saw her opportunity to slip by unoticed but she decided to remain hidden in the shadows and watch Bodk a while longer.

Bodk finishes his meal and throws all the bones but one to the starving beggars cowering from him."Here,eat." he says, feeling a bit of compassion. After all, he could have been the same as they, but for the luck of the draw. The dirty humans and elves swarm over them, cracking them open and eagerly sucking the marrow from them.
The last bone was a thighbone, strong and long. He kept it as a weapon, for he knew he might need it. He had sensed a glimmer of something with his sharp mind, and his as sharp eyes had found a woman in the shadows. An assasian perhaps...they had come after him before, lured by the tales and legends about him and hoping to steal his power, but instead he stole their life. It was hard to trick the yellow skinned man.
"Come out, come out wherever you are..."he says qiuetly, knowing the eavesdropper will be listening with all his or her strength."I won't hurt you, if you come out in peace.Come on,its futile to hide anyway...I can find you easily." this last wasn't exactly true,as knowing someone was there and knowing where it was is something completly different, but it never hurt to work his reputation a bit.

Turel Swiftwind, one of the warriors Tek'keh'ru tribesmen of the region of what was once known as Solace, and his twin brother Rusel Swiftwind, one of the few remaining shamans, made their way through the thick, dead forest.

At first glance, one would have guessed that they might not be related. Turel, large and powerfully built, his light auburn hair and well boned features makes him an instant heart breaker. But Turel's well formed physique and charms was also counterbalanced by his red hot temper that had already gave him a rather large number of run-ins with the Enforcers, the dark agents of the Mad One.

Rusel in the other hand, was lightly built. His hair was considerably fair. He is as equally as handsome as his twin, and was likewise targetted, not by Enforcers or bounty hunters, but by the women that had hopelessly lost it over the shaman (he doesn't know this fact though, he is so inept in socializing with the women of his tribe...)

"Uhhh, Rus, how far should we keep going?" Turel mommentarily stops in his tracks as he takes his bearing.

Rus, as what his twin brother affectionately calls him, pulls out the ancient looking map. He examines it for a momment, pulls out a strange looking instrument. It was an old, rusted sextant. He takes his bearings and marks the map.

"By my calculations, my dear brother, we would reach our destination by mid-afternoon two days from now..."

The idea of hacking their way through the jungle for two more days was almost too much for the Turel that he almost cried...

A sudden rustling amongst the fronds of the tall ferns to their left immediately sent the twins into action.

Turel readied his large mammoth bone-sword and his parrying mammoth bone club as his older brother mentally catalogued the spells available to him...Suddenly, there was a flash of light. And then there was..........Me

Tash swore when she heard Bodk call to her, she didn't think he would be able to see her in the shadows, his powers must truly be strong she guessed.

Slowly, so as to not appear a threat, she walked from her hiding place and presented herself to him.

"I mean no harm or disrespect towards you sir, I was merely trying to bypass that group of beggars without being attacked." she lied in her most charming style. "So if you don't mind I'll just be on my way".

Garn reached the village in no time. The dwarf was slightly out of breath, but the trail he left could only be followed by the keenest of trackers. Not that there were many around looking, but he was still careful. They all were.

Garn made his way through the village. He was searching for Borak Sledgefist, the head of his clan. He would want to know about Bodk. After several minutes of searching, he managed to find out that the chieftain was at the makeshift hall of leaders. Garn went to the building. I some time past, it might have once been a beautiful tower, a spire that could have rose to the heavens. Now it was broken, and the dwarves had put a makeshift roof on it, blocking out the bleak sky.

The dwarf announced his presence and was admitted into the building. Borak sat at the head of the table of the village leaders. "What do you have to report," asked the leader of the village.

"Bodk is near. On the edge of the forest near the ruins. He has some human and elven beggars with him. He didn't see me," said Garn.

"Good. We will see if we can guide him. Use him to help the village. Maybe even approach him," said Borak. "Take a breather Garn. Go home and relax and see me tomorrow. We will have a decision by then."

Garn turned, knowing he had been dismissed. Atleast he had a little time to relax. The dwarf made his way to his house. The small building was a new one, one built by the dwarves. Sleep was all he could think of now."Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?"

Bodk looks over at the girl. He smiles with pleasure,he had not seen a woman of that beauty in many years now. "Sir?" he says."I've been called a few things in my life, but sir has never been among them." He guffaws, a guffaw that sounds like a bear coughing.
This woman-child was intruiging, very intruiging. And he was not yet strong enough to read emotions eveyr time he felt curious about someone. He would do this the old-fashioned way. "Are you hungry, girl? I can find some food for us,if you wish."

Tash smiled, mainly with relief. The horror stories she had heard about the beast and his vicious ways seemed to be untrue, but she wouldn't let her guard down just yet.

"Thankyou I would be grateful for some help." she replied smiling. In reality she rarely went hungry and the sack full of food scraps was evidence that she was capable of finding or stealing her own food. But Bodk intrigued her and she wanted to spend more time with him.

Although she didn't need the beasts help now she knew she could possibly need it in the future. She also knew that in this world any ali was to be welcomed especially one as powerful as this.

A pair of emerald eyes watch the two as they begin to make their camp. She looks at the strange beast and at the young female with him. A strange combination if ever there was one. She thoughtfully played with a strand of her long dark brown hair whilst contemplating what action to take. The feathers that hung from her temples fluttered slightly in the breeze, and her lips parted in a smile, wondering what the twins would say when she romped home with the reward for this beast.
Her name was Tempest, and she belonged to the same tribe as the twins Turel and Rusel, the Tek'keh'ru tribe. She was a beauty of the tribe, and at the age of 19 she was swamped with offers of marriage from many admirers. Yet she turned each one down, for they were not the one she wanted. Her dreams were full of shamanistic magic and fine boned features. Her strong will was reflected in her emerald eyes, and all that looked into them knew that it would take a very strong man to tame her, a man she desired more than anything in the world, but who didn't seem to notice her. She wanted to be a hero, and a hero she would be when she romped home with the bounty on this beasts head! Maybe then, she would get some reaction from the shy young shaman! She made her way around the two in a large circle, her soft leather boots making no sound as she walked stealthly. She was directly behind the beast now, and drew her dagger from the top of her boot, and prepared to make this kill a quick one................You are the Weakest Link......Goodbye! :D

Tash rummaged about in her pack to find a small battered tinder box, she started to make a fire as she felt it was polite since Bodk had offered to share his food. She started to relax in his company which she had never really experianced before. She was always on guard, she never felt comfortable and at ease in anyones company. This was because as soon as she did she could find herself dead or worse yet captured by the dark ones and kept as a slave.

She laughed and joked with Bodk as they prepared the meal. Suddenly she stopped, she felt all the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end and could definatley sense something was there in the shadows watching them. She resumed laughing so it wasn't obvious she sensed something, then she started to write a message in the dirt to Bodk it said 'There is someone or something in the bushes behind us, I am sure of it.' she watched as Bodk read the message, slowly her hand went to a dagger concealed in her left boot.

I think it would be cool if they enslaved the citizens, those who can't defend themselves. I'm not sure what the slaves do, like if they mine for some precious mineral or if their life is sucked from them to make the highlords stronger or whatever. Perhaps Tarsh had one too, but for now it was good to just talk and eat in companionship. His laughter stops as Tarsh writes the message in the sand, and seconds later a young and very beatiful woman and a dwarf come crashing through the bushes.

OOC: OK, here are some of the serious stuff in this world.

Dark Ones - They are the enforcers of the Magistrates, the lowest crap amongst the crap pile. Basically, they make sure the populace don't get any crazy idea of banging together against the Magistrates.

Magistrates- more like the captains. They are usually level 12+ F/Mu or
lvl 12+ F/Cl. They handle towns and city populace. Most are a bunch of losers and dirtbags, but there are isolated cases of good guys too.

Legates - somewhere between magistrates and Chaos Shamans. They are powerful magic users that can also call upon clerical spells. They are lessers priests who collect young female children from any race and sends them to the Chaos Shamans.

Chaos Shamans- you can call them very powerful pimps with magical ability that border into demi-godhood. There are only eight in every continent. There magical spells are replenished whenever they get laid, but laid with the said sacrifice from the above mentioned. There spells are generally eight to ninth level spells though there were cases of chaos shamans with tenth level and even eleventh level spells.

Succubi- occasionally, a Chaos Shaman may find a favorite amongst his slaves/girls. He can make her into a powerful Succubi mate by sending her to the Dark Citadel to be offered to the Lek'Amuk'Kur, the Mad One's dark idol, a huge squatting idol with multiple, ah, um, sticking parts. The said female is then lent upon the idol, it's dark chaotic powers infusing her with the powers of the Mad One. A Succubi is immune from all forms of non-magical attack and are always capable of casting spells of up to the seventh level. There are first loyal to their Chaos Shaman, but they are all truly loyal to the Mad One.

Ku'Ka'Ruk (Ku "Flesh", Ka "To", Ruk"Stone")- Gigantic flying cocatrices used as mounts by the Chaos Shamans, they replaced the dragons as mounts are far more powerful. They can kill with a gaze and turn to stone any they claw at. They are also very intelligent and can speak in any toungue.

Now for the Neutrals and stuff...

Mutates/Twisted Ones- Beings on any race infused with accidental Chaos Energies when the Mad One was infused by the Father of All and Nothing. The general populace consider them as a threat and they are occasionally hunted down. This unreasoning hatred and fear have sent most of the Mutates and Twisted Ones into serving the Mad One as either Elite troops and/or generals.

Barbarian Tribes- around some of the larger remains of the ruined cities, Barbarian Tribes roam.

Cho'Kah'Mu'Ka'Rak - Travelling Shamans (Cho'Kah "Shaman", Mu "Herb", Ka "To", Rak "Travel")

(I am still updating this, so please bear with me ^_^)Suddenly, there was a flash of light. And then there was..........Me

My name is Tempest of the Tek'keh'ru tribe." she lifted her hands from her eyes and said the name of her tribe with pride. "About a week agao, three Legates came to our village, to find females to serve as offerings to the Chaos shamen. I was one of the ones chosen. I kicked and screamed and swore, and it became apparant to the Legates that I would not go willingly, and they knew that an unwilling and unbroken soul would not be a welcome sacrafice. So they made me a deal. I could have my freedom if I went and found the mutate called Bodk and killed him. I have to deliver his head to the Legates, and they will then set me free, giving me a substantial monetary reward aswell. If I don't kill him, My soul will be the sole property of the Legates, who will then make me willing and submissive and hand me over to the High Chaos Shaman, who reportadly "likes young barbarians like me.""
She once again covered her face and began to sob quietly. "I didn't want to do it. I don't have it in me to be a killer in reality, bt it's either him or me, and I don't want to be handed over to the Chaos Shamen!!!!!!" She turned to Garn.

OOC:Mirror, you're playing with Thorn's char. From what I gather,he's from a whole different community, consisting only of dwarves. So lets ignore what you said about him.Mert, love the idea. Yes,I can see defenite potential in being a Twisted One.
Bodk looks at the woman...at the girl, really, and thinks. A litle old, true, but apperantly still a virgin if a Shaman wanted her...but its obvious that they didn't want her. They wanted him. If he killed the girl, which he obviously would of if she had tried what she wanted to, her tribe would have rised against him and killed him.An arrow from the tree's could fell him just as easily as a normal man.
"This plot has the smell of one who I know..." Bodk says to the dwarf and to Tash."The smell of one with great cunning...the smell of a Twisted One. There are many of them who do not wish me good will, since I stay free. Besides,I have shamed most of them when they came against me in the Circle." The mutant smiles, remembering the feeling of power as he made Highlord Traus yeild without even using his uniqe strength. He looks to the dwarf."I do not know who you are,but I thank you.You have saved me...if ever you need help,Bodk of what was once the Library will come." Bodk turns to Tash."And now i must go,fair lady. The meal was as enjoyable as any I have had in a long year, but I must find this one who has plotted against me.
OOC:My own little addition to the world.'The Mutated Circle'- what was once Whitestone was corrupted by the chaotic magic, and became a dead circle of earth where once always green grass grew. There the Mutated ones duel with thier powers for honour and for position. A dueling master is sometimes respected by all,and always feared by all.

Tempest noted the sign that rusel made towards her, and mad a similar symbol back, letting him know that she understood. The crimson colour of her skin had changed to beetroot by now, and she was feeling so excited that she could hardly talk.

OOC: Actually, I don't exactly see Bodk as the incredible Hulk. Not small, and strong, yeah, but not that big.
Bodk smiles at Tash. The girl was one im a thousand,he had to admit. "Thank you, Tash, that means something to me. Come with me, but know, it could be dangerous, I am going to a place filled with Mutates, and they do not like Normals very much."
Only then does he spare a look at those who had stumbled into him. Two rather strapping young men, and one a shaman. And apperantly of the same tribe as Tempest. These would have been those who would try to kill him if the girl had died. "Yes, A twisted one."he replies mockingly to the more muscular one's exclamation. "Run,or i'll kill you!" He chuckles at the scared expression on the warriors face. The Mutate then turns to the dwarf. "I do owe you one.Sure,i'll come with you, I need to rest a bit if I want to battle at the Circle. But after that I will go."

"Excellent," says the dwarf, rubbing his hands together. "Follow me."

Garn trudged through the forest leading them along different paths. By late evening they reached his city. Garn led them to a building, one more towards the edge of the city. It had been refurnished for guests such as the ones he had now.

"You can rest here over night. I will have food sent to you and will see about helping each of you with you individual problems," says the dwarf.

He takes his leave and heads towards the council building. They would love his news tonight, well, most of it anyway."Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?"

Tash nodded when Bodk explained the dangers but she was pleased he had allowed her to accompany him.

"I will go aswell then" Tash said to Garn when Bodk had agreed to rest at the Dwarf villiage. She didn't trust this dwarf yet but he had a kind face and he had saved Bodk's life so she relaxed a little.

She followed the others and found herself walking next to Tempest "I didn't realise it was something of your tribe to blush so much in the presence of your shaman" she joked lightheartedly with a friendly smile.

Bodk says farewell for now to Tash and the dwarf, then steps into his room and closes the door. He finds a bed just big enough for him, an oddity in a dwarf village. This was probably the guest house. He stretches out on the bed and quickly falls asleep, his last though that next time he saw the dwarf he would have to scan him deep to check that he wasn't an assasian. And the boys and that cat thing too.

Turel sets aside his weapons as he started polishing his deadly bone sword, an ancestral weapon handed over to the eldest warrior of the his family. That tradition was broken when the eldest of his siblings, his twin Rusel, left his warrior training to become a shaman. For this, it was Turel who received the ancient sword, "Blood Hunter". AT the memory of his brother, Turel started to look around. Where in the world is Rusel?

The shaman found a way back out, and made his way through the overgrown garden of the estate. There, amongst the trees and plants he laid his mystic cloak and started to commune with the spirits of the land.

A twig snapped behind him...And darkness took his soul and made it it's own, forever trapped in the endless nothingness that is the heart of darkness...

"Borak," said Garn, "he's here. I've got Bodk, but there are some complications. He wants to leave and there are others with him. A female theif, and three natives. One is a lady who was trying to kill Bodk, the othere two appear to be brothers. And one of them is a shaman," reported the dwarf.

"Good," replied the cheif. "I will send food for them. Did they want anything?"

"They all have quests, or at least most of them. I promised them help. Mostly just to get Bodk to come to the village," said Garn.

"Fine. We'll discuss it and let you know the plans," said Borak.

Tempest walked through the gardens, if you could call them that. They were so overgrown with weeds that you would be hard pressed to find a flower. She was just enjoying the night air, and the stars twinkling above her made her feel at peace, for now anyway. Her thoughts wondered off, and before she knew where she was, a figure was sitting in front of her. It was difficult to see, but she rcognised the cloak that lay on the ground as belonging to Rusel. Her breath caught in her throat and her face flushe once again as she realised that she had stumbled upon his meditation. She wanted to talk to him alone, but she couldn't interrupt him, it wouldn't be seen as very considerate. She began to back away when a twig snapped under her foot. She saw Rusel turn around and look in her direction, and she cursed her clumsyness! *Well,* she thought to herself, *I suppose I'll have to show myself now!* she took a deep breath in and moved forward so that Russel could see who she was....................... Tash wandered around the grounds near the guest rooms, she wasn't tired and she had alot on her mind. She wasn't sure that she trusted the dwarf at all, he had seemed a little too pleased that Bodk had agreed to come to his village.

As she walked she saw the dwarf hurrying off down a path and she decided to follow him. He had a huge grin on his face and he seemed very pleased with himself which she deemed strange. She called out to him "Ho Dwarf!" Garn stopped and looked around. When he saw her he looked very annoyed but as she walked up to him his face changed to a smile.
Tash smiled back "It is very kind of you to open your village to us, especially since we have done nothing for you at all. In fact I would say it is very strange and very rare in this day and age, and most would say it is very strange behaviour for a dwarf." she smiled and watched for a reaction.

"But that just goes to show you shouldn't judge a person on rumors or stories. Take Bodk for example, most people would be very afraid of him and discriminative because of the rumors that surround him, then there are those that would try to befriend him only to stab him in the back for the rich bounty on his head...." she smiled a knowing smile while Garn remained stoney faced "What most people don't realise is that Bodk is very special, he can look deep inside your soul and know exactly what your intentions are even before you are sure of them yourself." She looked deeply into Garn's eyes but she couldn't draw any conclusion from him.

Rusel breathed a sigh of relief. It was only Tempest.

And then, the flood of memories washed over him...

Five years ago, at the ritual of annointing, when the younglings of the tribe are given the choice to choose his or her path . The Ritual Trials of his brother Turel, and that of himself...

He knows it was all in his mind, Rusel thought. Everything he is experiencing now is all in his mind. And he knows his brother knows this too. Me and my brother would be great shamans, Rusel thought. Both Turel and Rusel have chosen to undertake the trials of the shaman. A laborious and equally faal task wherein their minds would be hammered by things that can twist their innermost desires.

The twins have succesfully vanquished their foe, a deadly Ku'Ka'Ruk. The gigantic bird, a grim mockery of a giant cockerel, lay dead at their feet. All they have to do now is escape the prison of the mind the elder shamans have created.

But the elders have something else in mind.

The twins navigated through thelast hurdle and have reached the portal back to their town. Suddenly, before them, Tempest appeared beyond the gates.

Turel always had his eyes upon Tempest, the young girl in her teens would always skip away from his reach. Not now, of course, thought Turel. No, he can finally be proud of something and he can finally ask her to be his bride. The wife of the chieftain's best sons.

But the sight that greeted Turel was too much. Tempest had enfolded herself within Rusel's arms.

No, he railed. Impossible. Jealousy bubbled forth from the depths of his soul. She was to be mine, cried Turel. Anger, jealousy, hatred darkened his vision...

As Turel gained his senses, he stared upon bloody hands, the blood of Tempest.

And therein, he failed. Turel lost his self control and failed his test to become a shaman. It was all an illusion to test the twins self-control. Rusel, resisted the amorous advances of the illusion, but his brother failed to use his insight and self control. He failed and he lost. Rusel became a respected shaman, while his brother fell to self pity and became a warrior, a reluctant warrior, for his tribe...

And there, in the garden, Rusel stared into Tempest's haunting eyes. Wondering at the secrets they held.
And darkness took his soul and made it it's own, forever trapped in the endless nothingness that is the heart of darkness...

"Rusel, how are you? It's been a while hasn't it?!" Seeing that she got no response from the shamen she sighed. She was begining to wonder what the point of it all was! Why did she have feelings like this if he would not even speak to her? It was just tearing her in two..........
She walked around him and sat down on his cloak beside him. "You wanted to speak to me alone," As she spoke she looked up at the stars. Her eyes seemed to encase the beauty of the night sky in thier emerald prison and added something else to her beauty, a strange, etherial something. Remembering his plan to check out both the dwarf and the barbarian brothers, he dissmises it as late night paranoia. He was leaving now, wih Tash, and he would probably never see them again.

A rustle sent alarming triggers travelling through Rusel's mind as he held Tempest. He turned...

And there,a few paces away from them stood Turel.

A cold hard glitter in his brother's eyes told Rusel not to approach his brother at that time. But he took his chances...

"Turel, let me explain..."

The resounding blow as Turel's fist connected with Rusel's cheek at the moment was enough to flinch Tempest.

Turel silently turned, and made his way back to his lodgings, leaving his twin lying on the dirt, rubbing his jaw.And darkness took his soul and made it it's own, forever trapped in the endless nothingness that is the heart of darkness...

Tempsest bent low over Rusel, worried beyod belief. "Are you alright?2 she asked, overly concerned. She saw a thin trickle of blood running from the corner of his mouth and tenderly wiped it away with the end of her sleeve. His eye was already beging to swell and a dark circle was forming around it. Her worry now changed into pure anger as she exploded. "What the hell does he think he was doing?! I'm gonna have to go and say a few words to him." She was a bout to get up when Rusel grabbed her arm, asking her not to go. She tenderly pushed his hand away, and told him she would be right back.

Barely controlling his fury before this fiery woman, Turel pointedly ignored Tempest.

"Leave me be woman. I can't talk to you right now..."

Elsewhere...

Rusel made his way back to his other companions, rubbing his jaw,a pained expression on his face...

Back to Turel's lodgings...

Again, the strange voice within Turel's mind badgered him, "She is here, come on, are you willing to lose to your brother again. Look at her, she doesn't know it. I will help you in this endeavor..."

The struggle within the young man was too great, rending him almost into twain. He shuddered. Then steadied. His eyes glimmering with an unholy light.

"So be it. I choose to follow you..." Mouthing these words in the darkness...

Turel deftly grabs Tempest, mouthing a powerful spell of silence and binding. Pinning her to the floor, no sound escaping from her lips, not even a whisper or a whimpering wail. Turel hardened his grip, prying Tempest's legs apart as he ripped the young woman's clothes. Not even a choked cry escaped Tempest's lips as she lay there.

And then it was over...

Turel opened one of the window and leaped down and ran into the woods, leaving the battered girl in his room.

And again, the maniacal thunder of the Mad One resounded in the night air...

"And I am here to fulfill my part of the bargain..."

A great bolt of energy shot from the doorway of the yawning crypt, a dark energy swirling with the powers bestowed upon by the great Father upon the Mad One.

Bloody tendrils erupted from Turel's back as he grew larger than any mortal man. His skin acquired a bloody crimson color and strange flecks of white pus oozed from his orifices. The bloody tendrils grew engorged by the blood that was pumped into them by the dark energy. An insatiable lust overcame Turel's senses.

Tash stared dumbly at Mirror, she felt she was looking at a completely different person as the extent of what had happened to her had changed everything about her. She tried to imagine what it would feel like to be treated that way but she just ended up making herself feel sick. Then she felt angry "Why shouldn't he be killed, people like that don't deserve to live, they just use up precious oxygen and food and water. I say we hunt him down and make him pay" she sounded like an irrational teenager full of angst and thats exactly what she was.

Tempest looked at Tash, her eyes red rimmed and still wide with shock. She walked over to her and placed a hand on her arm, just as she had with Bodk. She needed to feel physical contact with people she knew would not harm her. It was almost as if their being there made her remember that it was not all just a terrible nightmare.......
"We cannot kill him, because that would make us no better than him and the chaos that changed him so....." she shivered involuntary at the memory. "It was my fault anyway. I pushed him to do what he did, it was because of me.....all because of me...........I am the reason he changed........I am the reason that Rusel no longer has a brother........" She looked at him, and saw that insted of looking her in the eyes, he kept his optic orbs firmly locked on the ground beneath his feet. She sighed, "That is why he can no longer look me in the eyes........" The tears began to trickle down her cheeks again, unheaded. She let go of Tash's arm, and clung to the remanents of her clothes once again. "Everything is all my fault, I should just go............" She turned, and still holding on to the tattered remains of her old life began to run into the woods...............Ray: It looks like a giant Jello mould!!

Rusel turned but came short of running after her as a strange voice echoed in his head...

Let her be for a while, she needs time to sort things out, to find out it was for the good.

Rusel turned to face his companions, trying to read their faces...

Of course they can't hear me. You're the only one who can. Of course, you're brother can hear voices too, but they're not mine...

And darkness took his soul and made it it's own, forever trapped in the endless nothingness that is the heart of darkness...

Tempest ran until she felt all the brath had gone from her body. She stopped still and began to massage a stitch in her side. Looking up into the heavens she fell down to her knees, crying bitterly. "Why?!" she yelled out to any God's that were listening, "Why me? What did I ever do to arm him? I don't understand....................." She fell onto the floor, clutching her tattered clothes the way a child might hold on to a favourite toy to keep the deamons away when the light was extinguished. She sobbed until, finally, she was asleep.
As she slept, she dreamed. She dreamed of her childhood. Of her, Rusel and Turel all playing together in the sunshine. Suddenly, they were no longer children. She felt Rusel come over to her and kiss her, as he had before his brother came along. She felt him press his body close to hers, and she responded to him, welcomed him, until they broke away for breath, and she saw that it was not Rusel who held her, But Turel. Except he no longer looked like the Turel she knew. He was no longer human. Her was an Incubus (?). When Tempest saw this, she tried to scream, only no sound escaped her lips. She tried to fight him off, only to find that she could not move. Tears streamed from the corners of her eyes until al of a sudden a bright light falshed into her vision. She heard the deformed Turel howl in pain and fury, and when she could see again, he was gone. The light hoverd above her, and she suddenly felt an overwhelming peace flood into her being. Then a voice spoke
Do not fear. It was all for the best
Tempest was outraged. "How was it all for the best?!" she yelled at the light.
Now, you will no longer be of any use to the Chaos Shamen. That has to be a good thing child
"Yes, but now instead of offering me as a sacrafice, they will now want to kill me instead!"
No they won't, child. They will leave you alone. There are better things for you to do. We need you to do great things for us
"Great things? What are you talking about?" she asked as the light began to dissapear.
You will find out, soon enough The voice promised as the light dissappeared from view.
Tempest woke suddenly from her dream, the feeling of peace and serenity still washing over her. She looked down at tthe tattered rags that had once been her clothes and made a decision there and then. She was not going to let this ruin her life! She could not fall into despair because of it! She stood up and went back to see if she could find the others. The tattered remanents of the old Tempest lay on the ground, to be sewallowed up by the elements.
