What exactly is White Wolf, anyway? I've heard good things about it from friends, but I don't know much about it. I might be interested in playing some time.

White Wolf is a publishing company that produces the Monster: The Angst RPs. They're not officially called that, but that's essentially what they are. Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The... Furry Thing... I can't actually remember most of the names, but they're angsty modern-supernatural RPGs based around the World of Darkness system/setting, and angsty is definitely the word. You tend to play some kind of supernatural character - a vampire, a wraith, a mage - who can either tear normal mortals limb from limb with ease, or make their head a splode by clicking their fingers, and then end up fighting something even more horrible, or some other faction of your own kind.

White Wolf also held/holds a promising superhuman genre in Abberant and Trinity, psudo-political superhero games for the most part but I love Them.
