Okay, this is an idea I've been toying with for a while now and I want to see how it works out.
In a random fantasy world a group of explorers have been blown off course from their intended route by a freak storm and have been lost at sea for several months. Just when things begin to look desperate and the crew and several of the explorer's fellows begin a mutiny, land is suddenly spotted and the crew begin to land. The story resolves around how the explorers react to this strange new world and, if anyone wants to be one, any natives that inhabit their immediate landing area.
So anyone interested?

I would be interested. Lemme know on any specifics k?

Sounds intriguing. Give me a little more specifics, and see if I bite. ;)

I'm with those two, a little more knowledge wouldn't go amiss

Well what sort of information would you like?
Here's one of the NPC's I've been thinking of using, Draco Hernandez, who is the leader of the explorers (yet the ship is captained by some other bloke who is a good friend of Draco's). His character is rather arrogant and self-centred, his first words upon coming ashore of the New World were, "I hereby name this great land Draconia!" If you are playing as an explorer, you are likely going to be bossed around by him a good deal. His species shall be determined by the first player to post about him.
Objectives I'm thinking of setting are;
To find gold and wealth to bring back home.
To either subjugate/destroy any natives or to set up diplomatic relations with them.
Any fantasy races you can think of are allowed.
Is that helpful?

heh, you know how easily we could turn this into a pocahontas type story right? lol. Okay.. I'm in. I may even put that type element in the story, if alright with you?
12/17/2006 8:35 AM
If you like, it sounds like an interesting element to include.

well it's generally expected for the one to have thought up the story to start it. So I'll wait till I see something in the General RP forum for this. I will definitly be joining and probably with more than one character.

Since this is a fantasy setting, is there magic?
What is the technology level? Is there gunpowder? Steel? Or just iron?
You already covered races, so methinks a half-elf wouldn't be rejected?
Just for a little further clarification, I'm thinking of bringing along a half-elf apprentice mage-type dude. He has always been prosecuted due to his mixed lineage, and when his magi master died, he had nowhere left to go, so he volunteered to participate in the expedition just to get away from others. He hoped to find a place where he could be accepted for who he is and not looked down upon as a half-blood.

Okay, to answer your questions teutonicknight:
Yes, there is magic.
I'm thinking of setting in a sort of Renaissance age with around the same level of technology as Christopher Columbus would have had (although players are allowed to vary with this to a small degree, for example you can have titanium if you're feeling brave but be prepared to explain how).
A half-elf is more than welcome.

Count me in, please.

Okay, I think I've got a good number of people interested. The RP is up now, so if you want to take part please post a bio there and we can get started. :)
