I have come and gone from a few RP forums in the past. One of which I left because it lacked a key factor...intelligence. The other, I felt I may have ticked many off by harshly closing an RP when someone tried to change my story into their own.

I do not know how long I will be staying here, or how long it will take in order for everyone to trust my judgement on what a good RP is. I have had multiple ideas in the past, but almost every last one of them was a failure because the people in the forums in which they were located were too anxious and impatient. People would slowly stop posting or disappear all together. Now, whether this is due to a lack of innovation or talent on my side is something I do not know. I know that the ideas I've had sounded good in my head. Many of which were fanbased RPs that took the worlds we knew and expanded them into worlds we thought we knew.

I would be delighted to stay here for awhile if I can at least get a comforting idea that the people here are interested in roleplaying as much as I am.

I know this message seems a bit snobbish, but introductions-at least to me-should really introduce you, and that is what I tried to accomplish.

Hi there and welcome to the RPGC. I hope you find something here to your liking, there are definitely some very interesting people roaming these boards even if you don't instantly find an RP to your tastes.

The other, I felt I may have ticked many off by harshly closing an RP when someone tried to change my story into their own.

I'm only going by what you're saying, but this does indeed sound very harsh. A good GM should encourage his players to contribute something of their own story into the RP. That's what should make it so enjoyable and interesting for everyone because no one really knows what will happen next, and everyone should feel important and that they are making a valuable contribution. By all means you're entitled to quit, but it seems very harsh to close an RP down on the other players just because things aren't going how you want them to. If you don't make your players feel important they are much more likely to quit on you.

I hope I don't sound like I'm ripping you already, I'm simply trying to give some advice. Good luck here, anyway. I hope you enjoy it. :)

Allow me to welcome you as well. I hope the consortium holds many great things in store for you and as for those interesting people...yeah...most definitely. If anything, we're creepily intelligent...cry in the shower at night intelligent... ;)

but this does indeed sound very harsh.

I'm gonna have to agree with Cor...er...Flark there. I don't know the exact situation, but as a general rule, a good RP lets everyone contribute. Granted, you do have to make a few boundaries in the interest of fairness, a linear RP is gonna follow that staright line... into the ground...

I, like Flark am not trying to aquaint myself by bashing your RP abilities. If you need anything, mail me and if I can't help, I can tell you who can, hell, that's why the regulators are here lol. I hope you find RPGC to be to your liking. :D

So, take your shoes off and stay awhile. That way, you can experience the RPGC for yourself.

I think you'll see that there are active threads in the community. It should certainly show that, there are a great number of people here who are very interested in roleplaying.

The tone of your post seemed very doubtful... Hopefully you'll give things a chance, before you give up.

With that, i'll just add : Welcome to the RPGC.
