I am so high, I can hear heaven.I am so high, I can hear heaven.
Oh but heaven, no heaven don't hear me.

And they say that a hero can save us.
I'm not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.

Someone told me that love would all save us.
But how can that be?
Look what love gave us.
A world full of killing, and blood-spilling, that
world never came.

And they say that a hero can save us.
I'm not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.

Now that the world isn't ending, it's love that I'm sending to you.
It isn't the love of a hero, that's why I fear it won't do.

And they say that a hero can save us.
I'm not gonna stand here and wait.
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles.
Watch as we all fly away.

And they're watching us (Watching us)
They're watching us (watching us) as we all fly away.
And they're watching us (Watching us)
They're watching us (watching us) as we all fly away.
And they're watching us (Watching us)
They're watching us (watching us) as we all fly away. *** "Hero" Performed by Chad Kroeger***

I'm looking to start a thread about a single person, fed up with those who cower in fear and cowardice around her, willing to step up and do something about the chaos and evil that reins her land (Probably going to be a Dragonlance setting) No matter the concequenses, and fight back... will probably have some sort of romance in there somewhere..... anyone willing to drag the dragonlance setting back to life???

I love the concept, but I know absolutely nothing about Dragonlance.

Wow, how many years has it been since I've read DL? . . . . too many, I'll say that much at least.

If there's room for a slacker next to the over-achiever, I may brush up on the setting again for this one. Like a good-for-nothing brother who gets swept up in the currents of events. Normally a real laid-back guy who doesn't take things very seriously, but when push comes to shove he can shove with the not-quite-so-bad.

I have a question: what year is it? I want to know what part of the history of the world I should familiarize myself with.

And I'm thinking of playing (don't laugh) a pickle merchant. There's more to it than that, don't worry, she's a character I wrote for another game that never actually started and I'm going to rewrite her for the setting. But she's basically a merchant and information broker with a little knowledge of herbalism. A D&D Expert-type person.

If, of course, that suits your plans. If not, I can think of something else.

I, too, would like to know when this would be taking place in Krynn's history, so I can brush up on my (woefully spotty) knowlege of the realm and get involved.

Good question. I was just reading through some of the history pages at the Chambers of Astinus, and . . . . o_@ that's a lot of history. Though, after reading through the first two pages I kinda remember a bit of what I read all those long years ago.

Also, location of the story would be another good thing. I think that would be a little more important to study than the history. I can feign a character's ignorance of the outside world and history due to a lack of study (both on their part and mine), but one would expect a person to be fairly intimately knowledgable of their own surroundings.

I agree. Though, as a merchant, my character will need to know at least a bit about a great many places.

well the town is unamed as of yet, didn't want to use one of the more well known ones...I'll figure one later once I get home.... that goes for location as well...though I'm leaning towards the town of Esker.... being so remote....*shrug* it's early...haha, I'm still asleep... :) Cya laters!

*nods* yea, Esker works well....and I've already set up a start (a mild start that is) Called "Hero" In the Dragonlance forums... it's set during the late fall (beginning) of the War of the Lance. (big famous war not hard to find timelines for :D)

Kalia, judging from what I saw in the thread and your character... Are you planning on making this semi-D&D rules based rp? Or is it just free form? I just want to know for reference. I'm glad you're trying to revive DL (ah, the old days.)

By the by, whatever happened to your dragons' war thread? I kept waiting for a reply and...yeah.
