Alrighty... it is expected that you have read the OOC thread, submitted a character sheet, and been approved before posting in the main part of the thread. I expect decent writing and please, run your posts through a spelling and grammar check before you post! Also, there will be no OOC comments in the roleplaying side of the thread. That's what the OOC area is for! Now... let's have some fun, shall we? :)

Everything was going smoothly so far; an event that the Isis crew wasn't exactly used to, so they were all on edge, anticipating the worst.

Instantia was looking around the hold of the boat they were unloading. The vessel was abandoned. Its passengers had left in a hurry or else died on board. There was evidence of both about . . . bodies in gruesome poses and deployed emergency pods. In any case, there weren't no one left, far as the captain of the smuggling ship could tell, and there were still plenty of goods in the transport's holds to be taken advantage of. After all, the passengers wouldn't be using them anymore. What was the harm of Instantia and her crew relocating it to desperate people on the border planets for a small fee?

Just as the last of it was moved over to the Isis, the captain made another sweep through the hold and checked to see if they'd missed any valuables. Holding her com unit to her mouth, the Irish-looking woman squinted again. "Jack, you find anything useful in the engine room?"

As she waited for a response, she continued searching around and found a notch in the wall. A moment's inspection proved it was a hidden door. "Cole! Gimme a hand with this. Might be something of use to us in here," she called to her first mate from across the room. With his help, she pulled the piece of metal aside to reveal a large metal box.

"I wonder what in the name of suo-yo duh doh dhr-dang is in that?"

Max scanned over his consul, all seemed to be clear. They were alone with this wreck of a ship that was ripe for the picking. After hearing reports from those aboard the damaged ship of bodies Max grew somewhat reluctant about staying around here much longer. They were still outside of reaver territory but York had heard rumors about reaver sightings around these parts and made note not to sit around alone for too long.

Maximilian York had spent years flying through the verse but had yet to come in to an open confrontation with reavers. He had always managed to stay a step ahead and escape their horrible wrath before it could be unleashed upon the men and women of the ship. Max sighed and picked up the comm, "Tia, this is York; just how bad are those bodies on that, there ship?"

"Tia, this is York; just how bad are those bodies on that, there ship?"

Not a good time for my pilot to be gettin' antsy, Instantia thought to herself, pulling her attention from the hidden box and grabbing her com from a clip on her hip.

"Shot up, mostly... figure someone got a touch of crazy... first time in space or something, and started shooting up the lot of them. Don't fret though; we shouldn't be on this boat much longer. We're about done here."

The captain turned her attention back to the curious metal box. She was at once curious as to its contents and hesitant to find out. What manner of thing could this be, hidden like it was? She wondered to herself.

She glanced sidelong to her first mate and motioned for him to help her pull the box out of its hiding place.

Jack coughed as smoke poured out of the engine room as he opened the door. "Hwoon dahn. This place is a mess!" He looked around the destroyed engine room. Everything was fool of bullet holes! He searched hopelessly to find something worth salvaging.

He looked the room over again and saw that the mechanic was against a corner. The poor man had been shot 3 times in the chest and 1 time in the head. "Poor fellow, must have fought to his last breath." Jack climbed over the rubble to the mechanic and closed the man's eyes.

He then noticed that the man was holding a modified pistol. Jack took it from the dead man and as he pulled the man fell over, revealing a hidden stash of Synchronizers. He jumped up with joy and laughed. "Yes, this is exactly what we need!"

He then felt his com unit go off and put his com unit to his mouth. "Yes ma'am! I found a stash of synchronizers! Oh, and a highly modified pistol. The thing is though, the rest of the engine room is totally destroyed."

Jack scratched his head as he tried to figure out what had happened. "Who ever attacked this ship didn't care for the synchronizers though. Or else they would have taken them. They must have wanted something else, REALLY BAD to tear the engine room up like they did. Well, I'm heading back, nothing else really to salvage."

Jack headed to the doorway. "I'm on my way back captain. So what did you and Cole find?"

Instantia nodded, hearing Jack's report, and hit the button on her com unit. "A lot of the ship is riddled with bullet holes. I didn't figure on you finding much, but I'm glad you found those synchonizers. Use any of 'em that needs replacin' on Isis 'n we'll sell the rest."

The captain felt that unsettling feeling in her gut. They wanted something else... 'really bad' and tore up the engine room? More than just shootin'? Strange... she thought to herself, a grim expression adorning her features.

Jack headed to the doorway. "I'm on my way back captain. So what did you and Cole find?"

"Not sure just yet... a metal box hid away through a false wall. Big though." She commented, inspecting the box in front of her, still debating on whether or not she wanted to open it.

Jack smirked, hitting the button on his com unit. "Yeah, no kidding. These synchronizers should catch a pretty good price." Jack walked slowly carrying the synchronizers and the modified pistol. He wasn't too familiar with guns so he couldn't exactly tell what kind it was.

He began to move even slower as he heard about the box. "A metal box huh? Maybe that was what they were looking for?"

"They should at that," the captain smirked, knowing that a synchronizer in good condition could fetch a high price if bargained right. "And have Coyote or Mandy Mae lookit that pistol you found. Best bet is if it's something of any value, they'll know."

He began to move even slower as he heard about the box. "A metal box huh? Maybe that was what they were looking for?"

"I dunno... might be. Was hidden pretty well," she commented. "It's awful big, whatever it is. I'm gonna need you to help Cole get it aboard, or else find that blasted mule to get it over. Think that last mission of ours, all the cargo just got pushed in around it."

"Shot up, mostly... figure someone got a touch of crazy... first time in space or something, and started shooting up the lot of them. Don't fret though; we shouldn't be on this boat much longer. We're about done here."

Maximilian gave out a sigh, if it was reavers they would have done much more than shoot the place up. "Copy that," he said putting the comm back and easing back in his chair.

Max would be glad when they were on the move again but until then he knew he had to stay calm and stop thinking about reavers. The fact that it wasn't reavers raised another question to Max. What drove the person or persons to kill an entire crew and damage a ship such as this. Something important, whether it was for material or emotional gain Max did not know. He moved forward to keep an eye out for anything strange that may happen.

"And have Coyote or Mandy Mae lookit that pistol you found. Best bet is if it's something of any value, they'll know."

Coyote was listening to the conversations on his own com-unit, and the mention of weapons caused him to perk up a little. Finding a wrecked ship was alway a somber occasion, but weapons always helped him get over it.

"Yeah, bring them to me. New weapons are always shiny*," he said into his com. "And if you want the mule, just let me know. I'll get down there and start moving stuff out of it's way."

Jack smirked and shook his head while pressing the button to his com unit. "Ok Coyote the pistols all yours." He turned another corner and kept on walking. "Roger that Tia, I'm almost there." After a few more moments he arrived.

"Whoa, your right it is big." He smirked as he walked over to Cole and lifted it up with the help of Cole. "Well then, lets get going."
