I have been going over the free form RPGs and have not yet found one I feel comfortable in joining. I have read many of the posts, and it seems that at least one post will mention something I'm either not completely familiar with, or familiar with at all. Also, do I have to contact the thread owner to get approval to join in an RPG, or can I just find an interesting spot and jump in?

Last, I wish to appologize if this question has been posted elsewhere and I did not see it.

Thanks to anyone who can offer assistance.

It seems the RPGC is moving slower at this point in time. Although I know Flark posted a request for more people in the 'aliens' thread he is doing.

Most questions you have about free form RPing, including the one you asked about joining threads can be answered [url: http://www.rpgconsortium.com/roleplaynow/ffrpforumsguide.cfm]here[/url]. Also the thing you may have no idea about may be something they just came up with in the actual thread and might not be something specific to the setting.

So ask questions. You don't learn by sitting on the sidelines.

You don't -have- to. But not doing so is a good way to get shunned by other members. In most 'circles' it's considered extremely rude to just jump into the RP. However, that's what the OOC threads are for. If you find a thread you want to join that is in process (and not in the 'Ideas' forum) then post in the OOC section (the OOC thread will be listed as part of the thread you want to join) and ask if you can join. Take it from there.
