The old keep had gotten too crowded, nearly out of date for the newcomers now. So after much thought, Glimmer offered the use of her own Crystal Spire to be used as the new Training Center.

Atop of the towering spire, was a platform made of the same fine, sparkling crystal as the rest of the spire. Arches of black and prizmatic crystal formed a room at the top, a heavy sheet of silvery crystal formed a roof, shielding whoever stood there from the elements. Standing upon this silvery roof, the crystal dragon,Glimmer, spread her white feathered wings. Raising her angular head to the sky, Glimmer trumpeted out a call to her sages, hoping they would all hear the call to this new training center.

With a final weary sigh, Crazywolf stepped upon the crystal platform, he lifted his head slightly to sniff at the air, noticing the crystal dragon atop the roof, glancing at it curiously for a moment before continuing his inspection of his surroundings.

He stood at close to six foot in height, his shoulder length dark hair hung down to partly cover his pale face as it whipped around in the wind. His grey leather pants were well worn with large course stitches running down the side of each leg. His pants were tucked into what once were black midthigh boots. They had seen better days, now a faded dark grey colour, covered in dust and mud. A simple unadorned sword hung at his hip, sheathed in a simple scabard, with strange runes coursely burned into it. His loose shirt had once been white, but travel had turned it a dusty grey colour, the collar was undone, the ties hanging loosely down his chest. The open collar revealed a simple pendant on a leather strip, a strange gem embedded in a circular piece of roughly worked iron. Both sleeves were ripped and torn, ending in tatters at his elbows, revealing the leather wristbands he wore, each sparkled in the sun from the myriad of intricately detailed runes inlaid in silver.

His left hand reached down to rest on the pommel of his sword, rubbing it subconsciously, as if his palm itched, his right hand reached up to touch the pendant on his chest, and he mumbled softly to himself, the sound snatched away by the wind before it was fully out of his mouth.

Turning his head back he looked again upon the dragon. His right hand moved from the pendant, shifting the hair away from his face, revealing the paleness of his skin, and then the sun struck his face fully as his hand moved brushing his hair back, showing his eyes, the colour of burnished gold. His face was impassive, only tiny creases showed between his dark eyebrows, as if a momentary thought crossed his mind, and he dismissed it and his face was smooth and impassive once again.

His eyes seemed to hold his mystery, they seemed to show great age and simple innocence in equel measure, and still he looked upon the dragon with a keen interest. He let his hair go and it immediately whipped about his face, but his unblinking stare never wavered.

His voice was soft, his first attempt at speech was kidnapped by the wind, he coughed softly, clearing his throat "Hello? Is this where I am meant to be? I am new in these lands, and I heard that this would be of use...." his voice choked and he coughed again, obviously not used to talking. " I heard that this place would be of use to me in these strange lands."

Airiana
08/10/2005 1:46 PM

Airiana heard the trumpetting call of the crystal dragoness and changed her flight towards the crystal spires in the distance, pumping wings to gain altitude and speed. The hybrid dragon winged across the sky, each movement of her tail and wings purposeful.

'I come, Crystalamira,' the dragoness bespoke to her friend, one mind to another.

The sun glistened off blood-red scales burnished with silver. Large silver eyes scanned the skies as she neared the home of her friend. The ancient dragoness made lazy circles around the landing court near the top of the structure, and backwinged to a soft landing there.

Airiana tucked in her wings and bowed to the crystal dragoness before her. "I have come as thou hast asked, Glimmer." The large dragoness then turned to look at the man who spoke so tenatively.

A draconic smile spread across her face, and though the baring of her sharp teeth may generally frighten anyone not used to the way of dragons, her soft, hissing laughter made it known that there was no threat. She looked the man over carefully and then nodded to herself before turning to the crystal dragon. "Crystalamira... I am not so sure that this one needs much of our help. He seems to do well on his own... his writing is quite good."

The Red/Silver hybrid then turned back to the man, easing back to rest on her haunches. "Tell me, good sir... what dost thou need to know? It does not seem that thou art in need of the speech and grammar lessens we often need to provide those new to our lands, so what else can we help thee with? Ask, and we shall tell!"

Crazywolf
08/10/2005 7:00 PM

With a slight tilt of his head to the side, an almost canine movement, Crazywolf watched the second dragons arrival. He did not seem suprised at it, but seemed to accept its arrival without any thought. His unblinking stare remained on the new arrival as she spoke to him , golden gaze meeting silver.

As she finished speaking he glanced away, thinking over her words for a moment, his head straightened and his arms extended a little to each side, palms up in a shrug. "It did seem to be the place to be, a simple gesture to show I am prepared to do what we are here to do. If you do not agree that I should have come, that is your right, but when entering a new land, it is best to be mindfull of the customs."

Having said his piece to the red dragon, he glanced at the other again, then reachs behind his back, pulling out a leather cord he proceeds to tie his long hair back and away from his face, with some difficulty due to the constant wind. "And besides the air up here is nice, it is refreshing" he adds with a grin and a mischievous wink, revealing his own fangs without thought or menace.

Airiana
08/10/2005 7:24 PM

Airiana hissed in amusement again. "Thou hast mistaken my words, sir... it is good that thou hast come, for surely there will be ways that our customs will be unfamiliar to thee. What I meant was by way of compliment, that our helping thee shall not be... such a laborous task as it can be. I did not mean that thou should not have come!"

Crazywolf
08/10/2005 8:02 PM

Crazywolf finished tying his hair back and lowered his hands, his left found its rest casually on the pommel of his sword, the right strayed to the pendant again. He listened and as the dragon finished he nodded slowly. "Ah, my apologies for mis-understanding what you said, it has been an age since I have spoken to another being and I am thinking my social skills are a little rusted, though they always were a little..." he paused for a moment, thinking on his words "...shall we say unique"

"But I come here not to ask questions yet, as I do tend to learn better from observation, but to see what invaluable advice the sages of this land could bestow upon a simple creature as myself, one unfamiliar and unknown in these realms. Though similar to some I have been in, this realm does seem to hold a little more detail to its lands, as if I can see clearer, and it inhabitants seem to think a little more before they open their mouths."

He paused again, then with a grin he added "Like I said, I like the air here, maybe that is the cause for this clarity of my vision."

Crazywolf then stopped for a moment, pondering a thought, a slight crease on his brow, "Now, having said that, a question has entered my mind, why would your task be laborious? Surely people come here willingly, do they not come here for the assistance that you offer?"

"Now, having said that, a question has entered my mind, why would your task be laborious? Surely people come here willingly, do they not come here for the assistance that you offer?"

Glimmer glided down from her perch atop of her spire, landing in the fields below. "Ah, Yes, this is true youngling... however, many do not care for the advice we give, nor do some take it truely to heart and get into more trouble with some of our more aged members than they bargained for."

He stood at close to six foot in height, his shoulder length dark hair hung down to partly cover his pale face as it whipped around in the wind. His grey leather pants were well worn with large course stitches running down the side of each leg. His pants were tucked into what once were black midthigh boots. Both sleeves were ripped and torn, ending in tatters at his elbows, revealing the leather wristbands he wore, each sparkled in the sun from the myriad of intricately detailed runes inlaid in silver.

Glimmer looked him over, nodding at each angle. "Yes, you'll do nicely... Your structure is good, and your descriptions decently done." The dragon closed her golden eyes, and a silvery mist rose around her, quickly obscuring her from sight.

For a moment the mist stilled, then a quickened gust of wind blew the mist away, revealing a woman who seemed to be in her mid twenties, with long silver hair and golden eyes.

"To those who know me best in this form I am known as Kalia, in my true form, other dragons know me as Crystalamira, and most mortals know me as Glimmer. I hail from the setting known as Dragonlance, as does my dear friend Airiana. Some of us hail from many different settings, but it seemes that we're the only two to settle this new training facility."

Crazywolf
08/11/2005 8:07 AM

Crazywolf watched the dragon gliding down toward him, waiting for her to land and settle herself. Again he tilted his head to the side as she spoke, his body was still, and when she finished speaking he blinked slowly, his eyes moving to look at the ground between them, the only sign that he was mulling her words over.

As the mist rose, his eyes flicked back to her, watching impassively, his left hand reached up to scratch at his cheek as he watched, giving no sign of what his thoughts were. His right eyebrow arched a little as before him now stood a young lady. He listened to her words without interupting or moving, golden eyes looked into golden eyes.

other dragons know me as Crystalamira, and most mortals know me as Glimmer

"Then I shall not know what to call you" he said, his voice tinged with a little amusement "For I am neither." He shrugged slightly as he finished speaking, as if shaking off a thought before he continued, " And I have heard of this Dragonlance, and a number of other realms, though I am from none that most would ever know. For a long time, my realm was the Isle of Myst. That was an eon ago, but somewhere I would like to return to one day."

He looked around, taking note of his surroundings "Perhaps I will find others in this realm who would like to reclaim it with me, a light in the darkest places, but that is neither here nor there, and I believe best discussed in a different area of this realm."

many do not care for the advice we give, nor do some take it truely to heart and get into more trouble with some of our more aged members than they bargained for

"Sometimes advice can be hard to take, especially if it does not contain the words great, awesome, excellent in large proportions and aimed at the newcomer." his eyes moved to stare at the ground between them as he spoke. "And sometimes if it does not contain the word..." his lips twisted slightly as if he had tasted something bitter "Doodz!"

"I thank you and your friend for your kind words, it was more than expected, I am just me and I am more than willing to take advice, though if I had known I was to met a pretty young lady, I would have..." he flicked at the tatters of his sleeves as he looked up into her eyes "...appropriately. Though the journey is only as hard as it is shown on your clothing, and this journey has been the worst of its kind."

Airiana
08/11/2005 5:11 PM

Airiana took note of Crystalamira's transformation, and thought that doing likewise would probably be better than staying in her true form, else she was afraid the next newcomer to grace the training grounds would be frightened out of their wits. The man before them seemed to have a much higher constitution than most.

A whispered draconic word and the large dragoness transformed into a middle-aged, elven woman. Her hair was long and dark as ebony, tied high in a pony tail that almost resembled a kender's topknot. Her eyes, bright and silver, remained much the same as they had before. The woman's skin was tanned darker than was usual for the race of elf she otherwise portrayed, but overall looked the part of a Silvanesti elf. She wore a high-collared dress of a silken material whose color faded from black to silver, depending on the light.

'He seems a fine addition, methinks...' the dragoness-turned-elf mused telepathically to Kalia.

"Thou art most welcome. And we thank thee for journeying to our lands!" Seeing him flick at his clothing, she looked askance at Kalia. "Mayhap we may afford thee some small comfort from the long, arduous journey thou hast endured. I believe that perhaps a gift of clothing may be provided to thee... so that thou must not walk about in tatters." She smiled and waited to see if Kalia would create the clothing, or if she herself would do so.

"And do remember that a dragon may look far younger than they truly are, when in mortal form... my dear friend here would surprise thee... a lifemate, grown dragonets, and I do believe, a grand-clutch on the way!" She smiled warmly at her friend. "Congradulations in that, my friend... I had forgotten to say as much to thee."

Crazywolf
08/11/2005 6:48 PM

Again Crazywolfs attention moved back to the the silver dragon, noting her change as well, this time without even so much as a raised eyebrow. He nodded his head slightly as she thanked him and waved the notion of clothing aside. "It is not necessary M'lady, it is the man that makes the clothing and not the clothing that makes the man..." he continued in a softer voice, barely heard "...In my case literally."

"The choice of the clothing is my own from necessity, and once I have rested, so my clothing shall become more aesthetically more pleasing to the eye." he srugged slightly and his eyes unfocused, staring through the dragon for a moment, before returning his focus, he looked between the two dragons now women. His lips pursed, and his eyes opened a slight bit as if in alarm, "Oh my! I have been remiss have I not? I have not yet even given you my name! I am called Crazywolf, if I have other names I am not aware of them."

His left hand reached up and scratched his cheek again casually, as he thought for a moment. "Perhaps a little of my history would help for you understand what I sometimes say that does not make always make the most of sense."

He cocked his head slightly, thinking as his eyes flicked between the two women. " What I am about to tell you is not a secret, it is just who I am. At one time it was known to all, but that time is long dead and a new era has begun. If I pause in my little tale, it is not from fear or embaressment, but from simple uncertainty in a number of things."

He took a deep breath, thinking it over, then dropped to the ground, his legs crossed in front of him, he sat and thought again for a moment, his right hand twisted the pendant at his throat incessantly and then he bagan, he stared between the two women, but saw nothing, his eyes were in distant places and times.

"I am not man or beast, I was not born, I was created. A failed creation at that. Made to be the perfect spy and warrior. I know that the essence of a number of creatures were used to create me, and from each I got some...." he grimaces slightly, trying to think of the correct word, "...you could say abilities. The process and the unique blending of my creation also gave me some unique abilities."

"The foul creatures that made me wanted a puppet to do their bidding, to kill who they wanted killed, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on who's side of the story you are on, they did not realise my ability to think for myself. I was seen as a failed experiment because of this, because I would not do what they wanted. So I was caged, as my body could still be used for their research. As far as I can tell I was in the cage for a little over 12 years. I do not know how I know that length of time, perhaps it was told to me once. In that time I saw others like me, many deformed, and most drooling idiots. Most did not survive long, even the ones that were not deformed or drooling, suddenly they would stop..." again he paused, thinking "....I guess holding, they would begin changing uncontrollably, from one form to the next, and then their extremities would begin to break down, turing to a thick liquid, and their screams as their bodies broke down...." he pauses for a long moment "............were not nice."

He paused for a moment and took a deep breath, and for the first time a little color flushed his cheeks, as he quickly blurts out "And then I was released!", an obvious lie and he quickly glanced between the two women before he continued. "That was a very, very long time ago, and I have to a lot of realms since then, and now I find myself here."

He then shrugged, "I know I talk to much, everyone I have ever known has learnt 3 words very, very quickly....'Shut up Crazywolf!'" he grinned, looked between the two women, "And as I said, the clothes are unnecessary, once i have settled, and found my feet again, taken my rest, I shall be a little more presentable."

08/13/2005 11:15 AM

A girl, appearing to be somewhere in her teens, sat cross-legged on the grass, wearing a dark blue sleeveless top, baggy tan pants, and black fingerless gloves.

Adrienne's short, untidy hair(blonde with blue streaks) blew in the wind. She waved to Crystalamira.
"Sorry I took so long to get here....I must have missed it."

She stood up, stretching.
"Wow, already one newbie here. Welcome aboard, Crazywolf! Looks like you already have a good idea of what you are doing."
The girl grinned.
"Have fun RPing!"

08/13/2005 10:59 PM

Crazywolf nodded to the young girl, "Thank you M'lady, I am sure I shall indeed."

He picked up a blade of grass fiddling with it, lost in thought, his brow furrowed ever so slightly.

Airiana

Airiana looked at Crazywolf a moment. "What troubles you, that you look so puzzled, youngling?"

Crazywolf
08/14/2005 3:38 PM

Crazywolf looked up at Airiana, his face blank and his eyes vacant for a second "Mmmmm?" His eyes focused on her face "Oh, sorry M'lady, I was miles away, my mind was on ages past, and ages to come, and whether I am meant to be in this place." He shrugged, "Tis nothing, just empty thoughts."

Airiana
08/14/2005 4:58 PM

Airiana nodded to Crazywolf and with a wave of her hand, created a chair for herself to sit in. She lowered herself into it and crossed her legs, lacing long, delicate-looking fingers over her knee. "It has been in mine own experience that the only way to know it thou art meant to be in a place or not is to live and explore there.. experience life in that place. Why not venture out into our lands (aka, the RP Forums) and see if thou canst find something to thy liking? I am sure that thee should find something of thy fancy somewhere." She said, smiling sweetly.

Crazywolf
08/14/2005 5:51 PM

Crazywolf nodded as his listened, "Tis true, I guess my heart longs for what I once called home, a place once safe and light, and now filled with shadows and darkest death. Maybe once I have found some allies, and established myself in this realm, I shall put a call out for those who wish to help in reclaiming what was lost."

"But again, that is neither here nor there, and even now I sense my companions ((OOC:: Other characters)) are making inquiries into different areas of this realm, and I wait to see how they handle themselves." he grins at Airiana, "I guess it is really just a waiting game."

Airiana
08/14/2005 7:49 PM

Airiana smiled and nodded. "Aye... but I do not think that thou shouldst have much trouble... though verily until thou dost know for true, `tis most certainly a waiting game in the meantime."

The wind stirred long, raven hair, cascading it over her shoulder. "I wonder if there will be any other newcomers visiting us soon?" She pondered aloud.

Crazywolf
08/14/2005 10:07 PM

Crazywolf looked around and sniffed the air softly "Aye, I was beginning to wonder the same thing myself, perhaps my worn appearance has scared them away and it is time to change," And then he added with a small smile "and I am glad you did not summon a rocking chair!"

He pushed himself up from the ground, before he was fully up, his body shimmered in a blue light, his body seemed to contract and expand, his head dropped to his chest and he dropped to all fours. Strange half seen runes flicked through the blue haze as his body shifted its shape, and when the light faded, seemingly sucked into the strange gem around his throat, his shape was that of a wolf, seemingly natural in most regards.

Around his throat he wore a thick leather collar, inset in the collar was the strange gem that had been around the mans neck. With a canine groan he stood and stretched, before sitting down, his long pink tongue lolling out of the side of his mouth.

Kalia_Majere

Kalia watched the change, obviously intrigued. She smiled and nodded. "I have a few friends who would probably be interested to know you... One is from the same system of Dragonlance, the others belong to the White Wolf settings. However I think it is Nakira who would be more interested in you...I can only assume that this change is magically wrought?"

Avenging_Angel
08/15/2005 9:55 AM

Adrien watched the transformation with interest.

"Hmm, you describe things very well. Interesting char-er, you're an interesting one."

With nothing better to do, and acutely aware of how unhelpful she was being, the girl sat down and leaned against the wall of the keep, pulling a parasol-sunshade out of nowhere and sticking it into the ground against the sun.

From the same nowhere she had pulled the parasol she pulled a book and a blue tiki glass filled with a banana martini with a little umbrella.
Admittedly, she wasn't being very sage-like, but, well, the newbie seemed to be doing fine and didn't need her help. If more came, well, all they had to do was ask.

Humming under her breath, she read her book and sipped her martini.

I can only assume that this change is magically wrought?"

Crazywolf nodded at the question, then glanced at Adrien for a second, then returned his gaze to Kalia, one eye closed in a wink and he dropped down low, his belly almost on the ground as he circled Adrien. Slinking closer and closer, his eyes glued to her, he circled to her left, his body tightened and suddenly he leaped, pouncing on her, he licked her face once, then ran off and dropped to his belly next to Kalia's chair, peeking around it at Adrien, his tongue lolling from his mouth, almost making him seem like he was laughing in his own wolfish way.

A soft rustle was the only warning that the group had, as a white wolf stepped into the clearing around the base of the spire. Kalia smiled, nodding once as the wolf padded forward, her ears and tail upright as she walked towards them.

Bright emerald eyes swept the clearing, finally settling on Crazywolf. Raising her nose to the sudden breeze, she sniffed delicatly at the air, before looking back at him. She wore adornments on her ears, and leather cuffs on her lower legs. Her fur seemed to be dyed in some places, but while in her normal form, these places were tattoos. A blue inverted triangle was under her left eye, and a yellow lightning bolt on her right shoulder.

on her right forepaw, imbedded in the stiffened leather cuff, was a cut green crystal. The she-wolf sat down, raising this paw to the sunlight. Immetiately a green light pulsed through the gem then pulsed around her fur till it completely obscured her form.

When the light faded, a woman with dusky skin and pale platinum-blonde hair stared at them. The same bright emerald eyes held Crazywolf's gaze as she walked forward, the green gem flashing in the light on the leather bracer on her right wrist.

"I am Nakira Trailwinder. Glimmer told me there was someone of some interest here for me to meet" She spoke in accented common, her elven heritage quite evident.

"Nakira is a Kagonesti Elf, or Wilder elf as they are commonly called..." Kalia said softly.

Adrien was so engrossed in her book, she didn't even notice the wolf until it leapt on her and started licking her.

"Ogh! Bwoh! Phweh! Bad do-er, wolf! Offa me!"

Adrien spat comically into the grass.

"Hey!"

The wolf looked like it was laughing at her. The girl's expression softened somewhat. She wiped her face.

"Fine, I'll let you get away with it, but don't even THINK about anything like that in your other form..."

The annoyance in her voice was quite obviously faked, and she rolled her eyes as she retrieved her empty tiki glass and book, the glass refilling somehow.

The girl went back to her book, a small grin stealing across her face.

Crazywolf panted softly, adding to the effect of him laughing while he watched Adrien. Suddenly his ears perked up, and he pushed himself up with his forelegs until he was sitting next to Kalia's chair as the wolf came from around the spire.

He sniffed the air as the wolf padded forward. His head cocked to the side, his golden eyes meeting her emerald green gaze. He watched impassively as her body was engulfed in the green light. When it cleared his head straightened quickly and he let out a soft wolfish grunt when she spoke.

His ear twitched slightly at Kalia's voice, but he did not move, as he continued to stare at Nakira.

Airiana watched the man turn into a wolf and only smiled. The smile turning into a grin as he pounced and licked Adrien, and the dragoness hid a chuckle under the sleeve of her dress.

"I wonder... dost thou have the ability of mindspeech? `Twould make for much easier communication with others when in thy wolven form..." She said, but Nakira's arrival kept her from saying anymore. She nodded to the Kagonesti with a smile... she had been in Fernwood once upon a time, and the dragoness remembered the beautiful elf-turned-wolf.

Nakira's steady gaze held Crazywolf's, then she smiled and nodded. "Good, at least you know how to catch the attention of a player who seemes to have forgotten the thread."
