This is where you post your characters and this has all the rules you will need

Rules, guides, et cetera:
Wielding Weapons
Each character starts out with a level 1 weapon (indicated by the number after a weapon name). You may find other weapons on your journey, but you may only wield it if your level is greater than or equal to the weapon's level. When you level up, you may choose a newer weapon or level up a weapon you already own. This will increase your weapons attack by +5.

Leveling Up
The idea behind leveling up is pretty simple. You gain a level depending on how many battles you have fought. Keep in mind that the battles are not cumulative, meaning that you have to complete the number of battles listed to level up, regardless of how many previous battles you have fought.

Level 2: 5 battles
Level 3: 10 battles
Level 4: 15 battles
Level 5: 20 battles
Level 6 and greater: +1 battle than the previous level amount

When you level up, you can increase either your stamina, or one of your attributes by +5. You may also level up a weapon, or acquire a new one.

Battling Players/NPC's
You may battle a player either by attacking first, or challenging them. Keep in mind that they must be near you. Refer to the "Location" for more info. Anyway, the battle system works by your weapon's attack on the opponent's health. Take heed that they may block or dodge an attack, according to their attributes. For example, if someone attacked you with a sword that has 50 attack, you lose -50 health. Pretty simple, right?

Battling NPC's is a bit different, though. They will confront you. You must battle NPC's every once in awhile!

Health
The health system is simple. Each player begins with 100 health and may increase it by leveling up.

Location
There are eleven locations in Thryne: the south-western coast, the Shadrak Keep, the Sacred Forest, the village of Terna, the bustling city of Rezmal, the ocean, the Remnian Island, the Surpreme Council, the Purit lake, the Ogre caves, and the Elven Shrine. You may select a location you wish to start in.

Races
-Humans: Humans are skilled in long-range combat (crossbows, cannons) but a bit weaker when it comes to magic and close-range combat (swords, daggers). Their marksmanship and strength is exceptional, but their speed is low. Only highly experienced humans may learn magic and element manipulation.

-Elves: Elves are extremely skilled in magic and element manipulation. As they gain experience, they can learn to control more than one element. Their speed and agility is great, but their strength is low.

-Ogres: Ogres are the strongest race in Thryne. They have the ability to use minimal magic and their speed is extremely slow.

-Remnians: Remnians are exceptionally skilled in their strength and speed attributes, fair in their magic attribute, and low in their agility.

-Shadraks: Shadraks are skilled in agility and stealth. What they lack in strength and magic, they make up for in their deadly stealth attacks.

-Drakemen: Drakemen are half man/dragon, so their speed is quite excellent. Their strength is good, along with their magic manipulation. But all of their aspects are balanced (ex. their magic is much lower than an elf's).

Elements
-Fire: Possibly the most common element in Thryne, fire is strong against earth, but is weak against water.

-Water: Strong against fire, but weak against earth.

-Earth: Strong against water, but weak against wind.

-Wind: Fair against earth, but weak against fire.

-Darkness: A balanced element, no more strong against a certain element than it is weak.

Weapons
-Swords/daggers:
Iron sword (Level: 3, Attack: 20)
Claymore (Level: 10, Attack: 120)
Rusty dagger (Level: 1, Attack: 10)
Iron dagger (Level: 2, Attack: 15)
Rapier (Level: 5, Attack: 50)
Large sword (Level: 20, Attack: 250)

-Axes:
Battle axe (Level: 5, Attack: 100)
Iron axe (Level: 2, Attack: 20)
Large axe (Level: 20, Attack: 300)
Hunting axe (Level: 3, Attack: 25)
Pick axe (Level: 1, Attack: 10)

-Bows:
Wooden bow (Level: 1, Attack: 10)
Iron bow (Level: 5, Attack: 40)
Wooden crossbow (Level: 10, Attack: 75)
Iron crossbow (Level: 15, Attack: 120)

Items
Items are crucial in Thryne. You can use them to regain health, pick locks, gain temporary powers and much more. You must find an item or steal it from another player. There will be new items as your quest unfolds, but these are the standard items.

-Health vial (Increases health points by +10)
-Advanced health vial (Increases health points by +50)
-Divine health vial (Revives health fully)
-Standard lock pick (Used to break into houses and buildings)
-Element vials (Gain temporary element manipulation on either water, wind, fire, earth, or darkness)

(post race choice and character name here)

I have three things to say to you Talon:

1. Try and learn from your past experiences.

2. Please at least attempt to learn how free form RPing works by looking [url:http://www.rpgconsortium.com/roleplaynow/ffrpforumsguide.cfm]here[/url]

3. You can combine out of character and the in character sections into one thread. One reason this relatively new feature was made was to avoide such things as what you did (posting two different topics). It's much easier to just have one thread with an out of character section and in character section.

well at least i put effort into this one

what flan said and one more thing....

A friendly bit of advice Talon, it's hard to get people to join in such a structured setting, especially one that has a point system as yours does. It's hard to enforce and most people here rarely go for such a game.

remember, we as sages (In my case, Exec. Producer) is our job to help newbies such as yourself to the ropes and dopes of our site. Please take what we say in consideration, it's said with idea in mind to keeping you as an active member.

it is too late for that i am already confused with this site and right now you guys are spamming my thread

Avenging_Angel

It's not spamming if they're trying to help....
(yikes, I said almost the same thing in one of my first threads)

We're here to help (honest), but we do pretty free-form here. I'd recommend taking a look at some of the other RPs on here before jumping in, so you get a feel for what's our style and stuff.

Trust me, point systems are a bitch to enforce in forum RPs.....

(by the way....I gotta ask.....who's the ninja in your avatar? So familiar...><)

Can't get an errection? No problem! Wonder pill does it all for you. Check out www.wonderpill.com to make sure you stand up to the test!

Might as well spam his thread if we're being blamed for spamming.

Anyway, welcome to the RPGC. Please understand the difference between spamming and helping.

This thread should REALLY go in the RPGC Battlefield.

I can only speculate as to what sort of test could be administered.

You (yeah, I forgot your name that fast),

I thought you already tried this idea in the RP Ideas and Interest Query? To no avail? Then just be patient and join in on an existing thread until you learn the ropes. Besides, you already said you were playing it on other boards, if I remember correctly.

sorry but in no way are we spamming your thread. First of all this is a free form rp site so this type of rp will not work.

Second you really got to get into existing rps. These are the reasons: No one likes to be in a rp by a person with very little experience, being in existing rps helps people to get to know you and want to play in your rps, when you are in existing rp it can happen that you may just become buddies with someone and that ends up helping. Those are just a few and if you follow those it will help a lot.

Third I read your backstory on the other topic(which was just a complete waste of time making. I mean the topic... mostly) and it is not exactly what I would like to call that great.... or even good. I am sorry to say it really does not explain much. Expecially the thing about a magician who killed some people for no reason. There always has to be a reason to something. It can even be they were mentally insane or something.(even though that would only be used by very underexperienced rpers)

Fourth you tryed this only like 2 or 3 days ago as I remember.(It probably was more but I can not remember) It would kind of help to not make the almost exact type of game twice.

Fifth no you seemingly did not do hard work on it. Most of the stuff sounds like it came off the top of your head. Also good rps end up taking a bit to come up with. The story line usually ends up taking anywhere from a week to a few months. As an average of what I see on a good rp.

So once again just go into a existing rp and get to be known a bit around the forums before you start your own rp.

Talon seriously, your beating your head against a brick wall here. Alot of whats been said here, even by the newer memebers is accurate. It takes alot of time and effort to start a thread and if you havent got much RP experience in a free form setting, your hooped.

Free form has few rules, the ones that do exist are just in place to keep people from powergaming or getting confused. Levels and experience mean nothing. I'm sure if you challenged one of our rollplaying sage's stronger charachter with a 'level one hundred' youd get squashed like a grape. My advice is wait for a thread that looks like it's taking a long time for the posts to be typed up, something by Flandrake or Dark Master or another RPer whos been here for a while, and ask if you can join. You'll learn alot from the people posting in those threads and in the future people will flock to the ones you've started because of what you learned when you first started out.

.. I discussed this stuff with Talon over intra-site e-Mail.

So he should calm down now and quit making inane thread after inane thread. But if he gives anyone any shit - I wanna be informed about it.

Any way i would like to apologize to every one here. I was being very arrogant and foolish. I know you were helping me and I could'nt take being a noob or newb and all i can do now is accept that. So in short I am sorry for giving everyone crap.

1st. I agree with him. When I 1st got here I made two post right away and didn't even join anyothers to get some rep. My 1st post Flare City Battle is really the only post that is good. My 2nd Shadow Demons kind of suck what I mean is we are doing it good but its not really going anywere.

2nd. Don't be ashamed by being a newb. Being a newb is the best part of rpging because you get to learn so much stuff. I kind of made the same mistake with my latest post and an old one. You just really got to find something people are intrested in. If you were to change this post around and edit it some I would love to join. And to what I said about finding what people like take a look at my Star Wars post I found something people like a lot and it became a hit. So just don't blow on people that try and help you take there advice. And Flark if you read this sorry for blowing on you.

Damiem, what'd you do to the poor guy?

Good on you for that Talon, remember, everyone was a newbie once. Think of it as a training period, like rollplayer boot camp.

*Snicker* now why doesn't that "Or else......" Surprise me any? LOL!

Anyway, Talon, Apology accepted. Try to remember this, when several people, Including the site Administrator are telling you something, we're not doing it to be nasty or piss you off, we're only trying to help.

Ha, yeah, I'd think it's the "or else" thing from Damien that would make people on Death Row straighten up!! :)

I'm going to move this thread to the RP Ideas Interest Query forum, since it's not an actual roleplay.

Talon - if you decide to start up with this idea again, please begin a new thread in the RP section, with the details of your thread in the OOC/RECR section. :)

I'm putting in my two cents on this to say that Talon is VERY lucky he apologized before I saw this thread. Otherwise I would have made him very sorry indeed.
