Karl stepped outside with his bat in hand. It was all he had to protect himself from the zombies. He decided to search for survivors, so for the last couple of days he had been searching though building after building. It was sad times for the people of Warren City. He entered another building. "Hello? Are there any survivors?"

Raymond sat watching the endless drizzling rain from his apartment window. He was out of food, and out of drink. He could feel the tension building up inside himself, he had to get out of here! He knew the danger he would face outside, but he could stand this endless waiting no longer.

Raymond hadn't left his apartment for four days now. In all that time he hadn't spoken to anyone, there had been no electricity, and the telephone had been dead. He had heard the screams outside, and watched the terror unfold from his fourth story window.

The safety of his son and ex-wife where what concerned him most, although they lived in the next city, he wondered how far this chaos could have spread by now.

Raymond looked down at the large kitchen knife in his hands. "It's time," he mumbled to himself. He walked over to his heavily barricaded door, and put his ear to it...Nothing. He hadn't seen or heard a soul all morning. He began removing the heavy furniture he had propped up against the door.

Once the last piece had been removed, Raymond stopped for a final listen...Still nothing. He put his key in the door and turned the lock...Nothing...He slowly opened the door and peered outside into the hallway. Nothing. Locking the door behind him, he tiptoed outside towards the stairwell.

Four days, four of the longest hardest days of his life. Lieutenant Ash Meier of the WCPD had spent the last four days trying to maintain some order in the city. Zombies had infested the city streets. The station had been over run on the third day which had been a heavy blow. The remaining police officers now had little supplies to work with...

Ash squeezed back on the Remington shotgun trigger and a shell flew into a zombies head, skull and brain splattering over the zombies next to it. The rain washed the blood from the corpse down to the gutters. The zombies would reach the cars soon. He turned his head around to see civilians loaded into a van and the doors slamming shut.

"Alright, that's the last of them!" a uniformer shouted. Ash pumped the shotgun and fired again. They couldn't risk taking back the cars blocking the street. It was going to be the only thing that saved them. As the cars pulled away the cops and armed civilians started to turn and run from the defensive line. Another shell came from the barrel of Ash's shotgun, he turned and ran to a car.

These rescue missions were hard to organize. They had to cover every street because the zombies flowed in like water. Securing a street for the retreat back to the safe houses was probably the hardest thing, so many things could go wrong...

The lead van screeched around the corner and kept moving. The driver ignored the rain and drove no slower than he would on a sunny day. Ash shut the passanger side door behind him and the police car went after after the train. The zombies had already started to move into the area that Ash and the others had been holding them from. Ash looked out the car window and through the water covered windows he saw something move in a building.

"Sam, pull off, I think someone is in there!" Sam pulled the car to the curb. Ash started opening the door before the car even came to a stop. Another cop car pulled over but Ash motioned for them to keep moving. He ran inside, his shotgun raised. He saw a man with a bat, Clearly either very brave or very foolish thought Ash.

"Come on man, we can squeeze another into the car. This area has nothing but zombies," Ash lowered his shotgun before he spoke put was ready to bring it back up and fire if something went wrong.

To tell the truth it had been a pretty uneventful day up until now, save for the hoard of flesh eating 'things' that stalked the streets below him. Sitting on his roof in a lawn chair he could easily take out as many as he wanted, but it was just a waste of ammo because no matter how many he killed more just kept coming...

Today was a bit different though, because even the the occassional gun shots were common he heard alot more than usual today, just a couple of blocks away. He thought this might actually be his chance to get off this roof. He stood up and noticed that a caravan of cars was coming towards him...

He reached down and grabbed a bag full of ammo and a short barrel pump action 12 gauge shotgun. The building he was on was about two-stories, and a fall from that height certainly meant an injury, so he choose to gently lowered his bag and rifle on a rope down to the roof of the neighboring one-story building before jumping down himself, rolling upon landing to avoid any injury. Too bad it was all in vain, however, for all the yelling and waving of his arms he did the parade of cars, unknown to him of Ash's rescue op, drove right by him...

'Damnit all to hell.'

He screamed as he kicked his foot on the ground. There was no way back up to his perch except by the rope, and one slip on that would surely break some bones he figured. No, he'd wait it out here for now, in case another car drove by. He looked around the roof for anything he could throw at an oncoming car and a metal chimney top that he thought would do...

"G-12" One of the grads called to Hiro. "What" Hiro snapped at him. "Calm down calm down." G-5 said. "Sorry I haven't had much sleep sense all this had happen. but what do you want." "The boss wants you to go out there and find survivors." G-5 had said. "fine I am out of here."

Hiro jumped off the gate that was surrounding the city. He ran to his bunker and changed. He picked up his sword that was laying on his bed.

"Hey G-5 can you get me a motorcycle." "Sure I can wait here."

"Boss so what do you want me to do with Hiro." G-5 asked. "Let him go out he will die." "Right" G-5 replied.

Hiro hopped on the cycle started it up and drove out into the city. 'Shit look at all the zombies.' As he was riding he saw the police cars. He grabbed his flare and throw it towards the police cars. 'I hope they see it.'

Still clutching the large kitchen knife, Raymond tiptoed down the stairs as quietly as he could. On his way down he noticed quite a few pools of blood on the stairs, he did his best to avoid tredding in them.

Raymond finally reached the entrance hall. The door onto the main street had been smashed in and lay on the floor in several pieces. More blood was splattered across the floor and the walls, but there were no bodies.

Stepping out onto the main street was an eerie experience. The normally chaotic bustle of traffic and everyday life was replaced by a deathly silence.

Raymond didn't want to hang around, he walked around to the back of the building, making his way to the car park, to check on his pride and joy.

"Who are you? We need to find survivors," Karl said to the police. He gripped is bat in case the man was an enemy. Slowly he walked foward, ready to hit the man if he made any sudden movements.

In times like this, Karl didn't know who to trust, even if he is alive. Until now he hadn't seen anybody but hundreds of zombies. Somehow he managed to make it from building to building with minimal action. He wondered if this man meant to kill him, or save him.

Hiro hoped they saw the flare. As he drove the cycle down the road he saw a girl ridding a bick to get away from the zombies. "Hey are you ok." He said aproching with extream cotion and cheking to see if she was a zombie. "Are you normal" he asked her. "Yes yes I am." she said as zombies came from every direction. "Hop on." Hiro said. The girl hoped on and they took off faster than a scard cat. "We will talk later lets just go ok."

"I'm Lieutenant Ash Meier, our force must have attracted all the zombies for 3 blocks. I suggest we get a move on now," Ash turned and started to run back to the car, "Come on!" As Ash got outside Sam had already started the car up again.

"Ash, hurry it up!" Derek, another cop from the car yelled. Ash glanced around the city to check for any other survivors that may have moved from the noise the fighting had caused.

"We shouldn't stay much longer," he said glancing down at his watch as if the zombies had a time frame they followed. Ash put the binoculars to his eyes and he was certain it was a man atop the roof.

"Sam! We got another one!" Ash could hear a loud curse from Sam after he said those words. "In the car everyone," Ash said jumping into the passanger front seat.

'Thank god.'

He said looking around as he saw the binoculars, or what he thought was binoculars. Either way he had started waving his hands as he pointed in his direction, even if it wasnt meant for him he try to get noticed. It seemed like it was, however, as the car began to speed off near him, followed by a very angry hoard of 'things...'

'Boy, this looks like fun.'

He figured that explained why there hadnt been as many zombies today, even thoguh there were still quite a few. He slung his rifle across his back as he dropped his bag onto the top of a moving trucks trailer on the street below, then jumped down near it. After that he moved down to be on top of the cab, bag in his left hang over his shoulder and pistol in his right in case something did go wrong...

He didnt know if there would be any room for his bag, or for him in that case, but he would find someway to get in or on, as soon as they pulled up...

"Hi, my name is Karl Towers," Karl said while leaving the building into the streets. "I have some information you may find valuable. I think there have been some murders on behalf of Umbrella Corp." Karl paused trying to work out what he was saying.

"A couple days ago I found a group of 32 bodies, they were shot to death. I don't recognize the shells, probably some kind of new gun. I did realize, however, that on every shell "Property of Umbrella Corp." was engraved. I don't know what this means, but it's rather chilling. By the way, do you have any 9mm clips? It seems I've run out."

Raymond quickly but cautiously approached the car park. It was almost empty with only a couple of cars still left there. His heart sank as he saw his E-Class Mercedes battered almost beyond recognition. Every panel on the body of the car was scratched and dented, every window smashed, and even the tyres were now flat. Raymond cursed under his breath, then quickly darted around checking the other remaining cars. He cursed louder once he realised that none of them were in any better condition than his own car.

Raymond stopped to scratch his head and think for a minute. It was pointless going back to the flat, he needed to find another form of transport to get out of this place. If that failed, he would settle for finding some food, then maybe he could go back to the flat and sit out this nightmare for a few more days until help came.

Knife still in hand, he turned and slowly walked back onto the main street towards the shopping mall. He kept walking in the middle of the road so that nothing could jump out at him without at least a little warning. His eyes darted from left to right, and he frequently looked over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't being followed.

By the way, do you have any 9mm clips? It seems I've run out."

"Derek," Ash commanded as Derek went through a back at his feat and pulled out two clips and handed them to Karl.

"There ya' go," Derek sat back in his seat and began to reloaded his gun.

The car continued to where Ash had seen the man atop the roof. They reached the man within two minutes and came to a screeching stop as they spotted him in the camper wagon.

Ash and Derek leapt out of the car with their guns raised, "Hurry man get in!" Ash shouted. He heard a groaning sound followed by two shots from Derek's side arm and he turned to see several zombies approaching them. He fired off a shell blowing away a knee of one of the zombies, causing it to fall. Two other zombies tripped over the fallen one. Derek's gun went off another six times before he turned back and went into the car.

Ash glanced back over his shoulder to make sure everyone was in the car and then he jumped into the passanger seat closing the door behind him. Sam pushed down on the gas pedal and the car went down the road leaving the zombies behind.

"Hey man, I'm Ash," Ash nodding to him.

"Derek," Derek nodded as he positioned himself a bit better having to sit with two others in the back.

"Sam," the driver said as he turned another corner.

Suddenly the radio came to life, "Ash! This is Jack from car 2-E, we got a whole mess of zombies blocking the path, we'll need to head by the shopping mall in order to avoid 'em."

"Copy that," Ash said, putting the speaker back on the holder. "To the shopping mall Sam."

"You got it."

As Raymond got nearer to the mall, he was suddenly alerted by a sound behind him. He spun around quickly and guessed the sound had come from an office building he'd just walked past moments ago. The sound was like someone walking across broken glass. He watched and waited for a second.

Slowly a man staggered out through the large broken window at the front of the building. He was wearing a blood stained shirt and tie, and he held his arms out in front of him. The man made a bloodcurdling groan as his vacant white eyes fixed on Raymond.

"Holy shit!" cursed Raymond as he turned to continue his way towards the mall somewhat more quickly now.

Suddenly he heard another sound like a door swinging open at the other side of the street behind him. He turned to see another zombie figure staggering out of a building onto the road behind him.

Raymond started to run.

He saw them apporaching and was relieved to say the least. As they stopped in front of him he could hear Ash's voice, and he quickly jumped into the rear of the car, tossing his bag into the floorboard underneath his feet. It was more backpack sized anyways...

He wouldve taken some time to take out some zombies himself, but by the time he unslung his rifle there would be more than enough to handle and the car was a much faster get away, so he opted for that...

'Damn good thing yall came... Names Garreth.'

He said nodding to the others as he looked out the window, now holding his rifle with the butt between his legs and the barrel pointing up. He wasnt sure what was goign to happen, or what had happened, but this city was hell. Just then he heard the radio flicker to life however...

'How many survivors are left?'

He said, partly fearing what he may hear, because most of the city he had seen was pretty much dead...

The lead van screeched around the corner and kept moving. The driver ignored the rain and drove no slower than he would on a sunny day. Alexi stared out the rear window of the van, leaning forward to see past the American plice officer. He knew about the restrictions on American ploce, and even the shotgun the cop at the barricade was using seemed a bit useless in the face of the advancing undead. 'The Russian police force would have had this taken care of' Alexi thought to himself as the van turned sharply on the slick roads. He reflected on his days as a law enforcer, but they were over now, now he was as helpless as any civilian, and even more so not being a citizen even. He did have the Desert Eagle he had swiped from that freindly gun store employee, but its fire power did nothing in this situation, and the clip size was less than appealing to Kerensky. If he could get his hands on an automatic weapon, then he would not fear even going out of the van right now and searching for survivors on his own. But that, he knew, was as far from likley as this entire mess ever happening at all. So then in reality there would be a chance he thought to himself, further contradicting his own words. There was another hard turn which made him reach for something to hold onto.

Raymond's pace slowed down as the mall came into sight in front of him. Yet another zombie was stumbling around outside the main entrance and spotted him instantly. He stopped and glanced over his shoulder again to see the other two zombies were still slowly following in the distance.

Raymond stopped to get his breath back, preparing himself for a fight. He watched the lone zombie in front of him slowly approach. He was sure he could take this thing out without too much trouble, although he suddenly wished he'd chosen something with a little more 'range' for a weapon than this knife. He made a mental note to grab some kind of bat or pole at the first opportunity.

"Come on!" he screamed at the walking corpse, swinging his blade out in front of him and trying to psyche himself up.

Undetered by this, the zombie continued to approached slowly. He had once been an average looking man in his early twenties, but now his skin had stared to decay, his brown hair was falling out and his ripped clothes were covered in dried blood. As it came to almost within reaching distance, it extended it's arms revealing it's unusually long finger nails and opened his mouth with a toothy snarl.

Bang! In one quick move Raymond ducked to his left under the zombies reach and came up with a powerful stab to the side of the things head. The full blade of the knife plunged deep into the side of it's skull with ease. As quickly as he had struck, Raymond withdrew the knife and jumped back. The zombie collapsed face down to the ground, it's legs and arms twitching.

Raymond stepped back a few more paces, just incase. Glancing back at the other two still in persuit, he was pleased to see they were still a good distance away.

A small pool of blood began to form around the floored zombies head, and the twitching stopped.

"Oh yes." he smirked, feeling pleased with his handywork. There'll be no more need for any running, he thought to himself. He had always hated running and had never been any good at it. Especially now at his age. The running's more likely to kill me than these things, he joked to himself.

He strolled towards the mall with renewed confidence.

'How many survivors are left?'

He said, partly fearing what he may hear, because most of the city he had seen was pretty much dead...

"Well we just saved around twelve people. They were locked up pretty tight in that building. Plus we have ten cops with us. But back at headquartes I would guess at least one hundred. We've been putting people to work there around the clock so it's pretty sturdy," Ash said with some pride in his voice.

The lead van came into view of the mall. The driver scanned the area and saw two zombies to his left and a man off to his right with a body on the ground.

The radio of Ash's car flared alive as Jack of car 2-E spoke, "Ash, this is Jack again, I think there's another survivor out here. Can you pick him up?"

"Negative, our car is full. Turn off and my car will give you some cover," Ash responded.

"Roger that," Jack called back. The radio went out as the cars went between the zombies and the knife wielding man. The lead car pulled off and the back doors opened. Ash's squad car came up and Sam pulled off. Right before Sam came to a stop Ash turned back to Garreth.

"Hey man, you could help us out if any more of those things come out," then Ash opened the door pumping his shotgun. The zombies were still far away but as to what might come out he was unsure of and he knew how fast the zombies could show up.

People from the van were yelling for the knife weilding man to run inside so they could leave and get to some sort of safe haven.

Alexi fallowed the man with the knife with his eyes all while the van pulled up to pick him up. Some were coaxing the man to get in, but Kerensky just watched. The way he fought seemed professional, he thought to himself as a couple police officers got out of a car to help him.

Maybe he should get out and help too, or at least ask the officers if they needed help. There was still the matter of him carrying an illegal, stolen firearm, but he was sure the cops would care at this point in time.

He was sure that one of the police officers might try and stop him, or to return to the vehicle, so he moved quickly. He jumped out of the van and ran up to the man with the knife until he was about 4 meters away. He shifted his footing and in one smooth motion, slid his left leg forward and drew his sidearm with his right hand. He made sure he didn't lock his elbows and squeezed off two rounds into the bulk of one of the zombies approaching from the mans rear.

The hallow point bullets ripped through the zombies decayed flesh and dug into its rotting meat and bone. They missed any important organs, but it was doubtful if that would have made a difference at all. At all this, the zombie merley stumbled backwards at the impact of the bullets. Kerensky frowned at this and fired a 3rd bullet into the undead creatures form after it had recovered itself and started advancing him. The 3rd bullet dug into his skull and tore through his brain, melting the tissue that it didnt simply force out of its way. This dropped the zombie into a crumbling heap.

Kerensky noticed that the thing was still twitching, but he was sure it wouldnt be able to do much other than that now. He found a new target, the other zombie that had been advancing on the man. He grinned slightly and took aim.

Raymond heared the sound of approaching vehicles. He turned to see a van and a squad car quickly pull up nearby. The van doors opened and a few people jumped out, some of them started calling over to him urgently to get inside.

Raymond hesitated. One of the men continued running towards him then suddenly pulled out a large handgun and fired in his direction.

"Shit!" Raymond couldn't help cursing, as he nearly jumped out of his skin.

He was relieved when he quickly realised the man was firing at the zombies behind him. He ran forward, past the man and jumped into the van.

That was when he suddenly realised what all their urgency had been for. In his fight he had failed to notice that much further down the street were dozens more zombies slowly heading up the street towards them. Not only this but dozens more started filtering out of buildings on both sides of the road all around them.

Alexi took little note of the man running past him and instead dropped the zombie ha had targeted with a bullet to the head. The .50 AE rounds were too heavy, the Desert Eagle too big, and the clip too small to be effective in this scenario, but it was better than nothing.

He had fired four rounds already, that was not good. The clip size for the .50 AE was only seven rounds per clip. He had a reload in his back pocket (which stabbed at him uncomfortably as he sat) but that still only left him with ten bullets. There must have been a dozen zombies in sight, and he decided it would be best to get back in the van again.

He fired another shot at a zombie that had just stepped out of a doorway. It missed, but Kerensky wasn't watching anyways. Immediatley after firing the shot he turned and made for the van, not bothering to holster the large handgun before getting in and grabbing a seat next to the man they had stopped for.

He leaned over and stared out the back of the van again monitoring the action outside. "Alexander Kerensky." He left it at that and offered a handshake without even turning to face the man who had been fighting the undead armed with nothing but a knife.

Ash and Derek continued to hold their fire at the main core of the zombies knowing they would simply need to run from them. A few came closer and were hot down by a man who had came running out of a van. Ash made a note the man had some skill with a gun and would try to remember to speak with him when they got back to their base.

The sound of Derek's handgun shot off and Ash turned to see three zombies ahead of the others. He took aim and fired. The shotgun blast hit a zombie in the left side of his collar bone. The zombie fell to the ground and soon began to struggle to get back up. Ash looked back to see the van doors closing.

He opened the door to get out but his foot got tangled in the bag he had hastily shoved in the floorboard, causing him to fall on his back with his rifle up in the air...

'Shit!'

He screamed as he watched the zombies apporaching from his upside-down point of view. He was happy to see the others able to hold off an endless hoard of zombies for sometime, long enough for him to finally get his foot untangled and stand up...

When he rose he saw what appeared to be some sort of new age ninja, complete wit ha sword. He was confused but wasn't goign to give it much more thoguht as he saw the other zombies approaching. He positioned his rifle on the door he had just opened and took aim through his scope...

Three shots were expertly shot out and three of the lead zombies fell in a matter of only ten seconds. It didnt take much time to sight up again as they crowded them, and the bullets passed through one to another, but did little after that. He stopped afterwards to look around, only to see impossible odds against them...

'Hurry up! We need to find some doors with locks on them!'

He said as he sighted and went to shot another, but didnt as he realized it was merely a waste of ammo. He kept in the same position and would shot any zombies that came within a dangerous range, but none until then. He was ready to go whenever the driver was, and hopefully that was soon...

Ash tried to call out to the man saying that they had to room but he was already going through the zombies. Obviously the man could take care of himself and the girl, "Alright Sam, let's roll!"

"But sir, the girl?"

"Did you see that guy, he slashes zombies up repeatedly! They'll be fine, now go," Ash sat back in his chair and thought of driving through the protective gates of headquarters.

Sam pressed down the gas pedal and the car zoomed it's way behind Jack's van. The two cars continued on their way back to headquarters.

"My daughters stuck on the top floor, Im not going any where until I get her back"
Jake Smith Swung his bat at the officer hitting him in the side, quickly he ran to the stairs. He heard the officer call back to him, "Your making a bad mistake buddy, i'll try to wait for you down here" Not listening Jake sprinted up the stairs. Quietly he walked down the hallway.

He heard a faint sound from the third room to the left. With out hesitation he swung open the door, what he saw almost made him sick. His daughter lay there riped to shreads, two zombies over her. "NO!!" Jake wacked the head off one of the zombies and cracked the neck of the other one. Crying he sat there lying over his dead daughter.

The personal trainer ly there sobing, asking god why. All of a sudden his daughter twitched and sat up slowly, she lunged at her father. "Nat its me daddy! stop!!" *BANG*
A gun shot was heard, his daughter was finally dead. Jake turned around and saw the officer. "Whats your name? why did you shoot my daughter?"

"Assholes" Hiro thought. As he pan through the zombies he heard the gun shot from the roof top. He quickly ran to his bike. When he got there the girl he was protecting was alright she had held them off with her gun but to make sure she was still human he quickly checked her form any scrapes, bites, or slashes from the zombies. Nothing Hiro gave a quick sigh of relief and started up his bike. "Hold on." he told the girl. She gave a quick nod and they were off toward the shot he heard. When he approached the place he saw two shadows on the rooftop. "Hello any one alive up there?"

When he approached the place he saw two shadows on the rooftop. "Hello any one alive up there?"

Jake heard someone talking, he turned and looked out the window. He saw a man and a girl. Yelling "Yea me and this police officer, we'll try to get down!" Jake turned in horror, he saw the officer dead, a zombie dog on top of him. "Holy crap, how come I didnt hear that" Quietly Jake picked up the officer's handgun form the ground. Before the dog could pounce on him he shot the dog pin-point threw the head. Going back to the window Jake yelled "Im coming down, wait up for me"

Sprinting out the room Jake suddenly stoped in his tracks, down the hall two dogs were trotting towards him. "Well another day, another 100 meter run" Jake sprinted down the stairs, the dogs growling close behind. Seeing the open looby door, jake dove out getting off a lucky shot before he landed, killing one of the dogs, but the other dog dove right for him.

All of a sudden another shot rung out and the dog flew back. Jake turned, "Thanks"

'Idiot...'

Those were the only words he had said as the man ran back into the horde of zombies. He could havce helped him, but it would have been a waste ot ammo, something that was about as good as getting bitten by one of those things now...

He quickly jumped back into the car as Ash told them to leave, making sure not to get his foot stuck in the bag this time. He wasnt quite sure where they were headed, but anything was better than here, or so he hoped...

The man stood there, not responding. "Sir, hello?" The man walked back to the bike. When he turned Jake saw a long sword, it reflected the sun light. Jake thought to himself ("What kind of wacko walks around with a blade, what does he think he is, a ninja?)

"Hey guy with the blade, can you give me a lift?" "My names Kenneth JAKE Smith, but for the situation were're in, you can just call me KJ" The man turns towards the north end of the street, KJ can see that somthings bothering him. While looking, KJ hopes to get some words out of this stranger.

Ash looked back to see the zombies converge on where the cop car had been and sighed. They would have been killed had they stayed. He hoped the man with the sword and the girl he spoke of were alright. The men in the car remained on edge until the protective fences of headquarters came in to view.

"Finally, we made," Sam said as he eased his grip on the wheel and slowed down. The gates closed quickly behind Ash's car locking out the zombies and anything else. The cars took a right that led down to an underground parking lot, one of the reason this place had been chosen after the police station had been overrun.

The other cars, aside from Jack's and Ash's were already parked and empty of people. Whenever new survivors came in they registered their name and other information. Sam parked the car and the three police inside the car sighed, the were safe for another few hours. Maintence men went right to work on the cars checking to make sure they could do another run as they had down today.

Two officers came down from the stairs and spoke to the survivors, "Please follow us so we can get you registered. We will further explain to you the rules of this safe house once there."

Ash turned to Sam, "Good job driving in that rain. Hopefully the storm will let up for tomorrow, although, I doubt we have that kind of luck."

"Yeah, thanks. I'm gonna go get something to eat and get some sleep."

Ash watched Same leave for a moment then turned to Derek to was already leaving, "Good work today, I'll see you later."

"Yeah, you too," Derek replied looking back over his shoulder. They had four hours before they would need to have a debriefing. Ash followed the new residents of the safe house to the stairs.

The back door to the car opened rather slowly as Garreth got out, rather slowly as if trying to play the whoel thing off as cool. He looked down as saw a black speck on his crisp white shoe as he bent down to wipe it off, standing up once again as he ducked back into the car...

When he emerged he had his rifle slung over his right shoulder and the bag of ammo held in his left hand. It was pretty well packed in, holding three fifty-count boxes of 45 caliber hollow points, one fifty-count box of 9mm hollow points, and five ten count boxes of 3" twelve gauge buck shots. It also had a short barrel twelve gauge pump action shot gun within also, as well as five twenty-count boxes of .223 hollow points for his rifle...

The rifle itself was more of a treasure than a fighting machine. It was given to him by his dad as his first gun, and he figured the more bastards he killed with it the more it would honor his father, and he was goign to kill as many as he could...

He walked over to where the other newer ones stood, not really in the mood for rules and the likes, but if it got him some food besides M.R.E.'s then he was definately game. He dropped the bag onto the floor, the padded bottom keeping anything from getting damaged as he waiting for the line to get moving...

He wasnt in any mood for this crap as he slung the rifle from his shoulder to his hands, reloading it with the rounds from the band on his wrist. He turned back to see the guy that was in the car with him approaching as he waited til he was near...

'Not a bad place ya got here... Whats all this bit about registration and rules?'

He said, trying to pass the time with something besides standing around as he slung the rifle back on his shoulder, fully loaded, leaving two rounds on his wrist band...

Since the Russian didn't seem too talkative, Raymond climbed out of the van to try to find out what was going on. A maintenance guy brushed past him, seemingly on his way to check over the van. The guy seemed too busy to even notice him.

"Please follow us so we can get you registered. We will further explain to you the rules of this safe house once there," someone was saying.

He slowly walked towards a small bunch of people who were also looking a bit lost. He noticed one of them had just finishing reloading a rifle, before slinging it back over his shoulder.

"Not a bad place ya got here... Whats all this bit about registration and rules?" he heard the man ask.

Raymond walked over and stood with them.

"Thanks," Ash said to Garreth, "The registration is just to see who you are and basic personal information. It's also used as a screening process to see where we can put you to work. The rules are nothing to worry about. They're pretty basic. Only downside is we only get two meals a day and there has been talk of bringing it down to one if we don't make any progress with getting out of here soon."

Raymond walked over and stood with them.

Ash turned when he heard a man stop to close to them. He saw the knife wielding man from in front of the mall, "Hey man. Glad we had to take that detour otherwise you may have been zombie food. I'm Ash Meier," he said extending his hand to Raymond.

"Not as glad as I am," replied Raymond, accepting the handshake from the police officer. "Raymond Flark. Pleased to meet you."

Those were words he never thought he would ever say to a cop. Let alone genuinely meaning them. He had to accept that what Ash said was true. If they hadn't turned up when they had done, he would have probably died a slow horrible death. He knew he had been foolish to venture out as he had, armed with only a knife. KJ, quickly turned toward a noise he heard, zombies were coming down an ally just east of were he was standing. "Hey, dude, how are we going to get out, that bike holds two people, and you and the girl need to get out of here"

The man started telling KJ that he needs to get the girl out of here, KJ agreed and he let the man, who told him his name was Hiro, go. Regreting the descion that he just made, KJ thinks on how to get out. "Alls I got is this handgun *checks clip* damn, just got one bullet left, now Im in a pickle.

While the zombies were getting closer, KJ creeps toward the ally way to the south of him, at the other end he sees the Warren City mall, but the only problem is, theres at least 7 zombies alongside the entrance. "Well better then nothing" KJ sprints down the ally, just a few yards short of the mall. The zombies react and start to follow him. Getting by fast, KJ reachs the entrance, but sees that thr doors are barricaded shut.

"Someone must be in there" without any haste, KJ starts to knock on the doors with force
"Hello!! Anyone in there?!, hurry up!!"

"It sounds like our friend Ash here is quite the hero."

"Just doing my job," Ash said his thoughts going to his wife and child. He had not seen them for four days and he feared the worst. Some hero I am. I don't even know if the people who mean the most to me are alive.

"Well...Shall we get this registration out of the way, then maybe we can take a few moments to relax and maybe find out what's going on?" he suggested.

"Yeah, it'll only take a few minutes. It's just filling out a form and listening to a few basic rules," Ash said as he walked with the two up the stairs then down a hallway to a room set up for registration. The two police men from the parking lot handed out a form and a pen to each individual. There was plenty of room to sit and Ash sat down along with Garreth and Raymond figuring he had time to kill before his debriefing.

The forms asked for your name, age, occupation (before attack), other skills, etc. The copy machine had been found in working condition along with most of the computers. But it seemed all the information that would have been found on them was gone. That along with the fact that Umbrela had set it's own generator gave the police force a strange feeling but they ignored it because of the situation at hand.

"Alright, for the rules," one of the officers began, "It's pretty simple here. Don't cause trouble, we have a zero tolerance for fighting and stealing. Anyone who breaks this will be sent into isolation. We have two meal times, nine a.m. and six p.m. Our food carts will be brought out to different location, go to the one closest to you. We have men watching the lines and hallways so please do not try to take mroe than your share. That's pretty much it, let's just work to stay alive long enough for help to come."

The rules were strict but the people had no problem following them being too tired and afraid to cause trouble. Times such as this really should who the strong ones really were.

'Finally...'

He murmured as he picked up his bag once again, walking up the stairs behind Ash and Raymond. He hated writing, and even more he hated forms, but he figured he might complete them and get it over with...

He sat down next to the others, filling out the forms silently. His hand writing wasnt the best, but where he worked he only need to know how to use a cash register, and since he dropped out of school he had never really cared anyways...

He listened for a bit to the rules, though moved his head back down to continue writing after the first one. They were common sense, stuff he didnt feel like wasting his time on. He was suprised when it didnt take him too logn to complete it, standing as he handed it to Ash...

'There ya go, not as bad as I thought... I think Ill take a look around though.'

He said as he grabbed his bag in his left hand once again, throwing it over his hsoulder to reduce the weight as he walked towards the stairs and soon after down them. He figured he'd get to know the place a little better, and maybe find some girls if there were any...

He also just needed a little alone time, to think all of this through. With his mom already dead, and his dad killed just days earlier, everything seemed to be falling apart for him. He wasnt goign to let it stop him though, he'd get out of this no matter what...

"Damnit!" KJ cursed. With things looking worse by the second, KJ slams into the door harder, making sure that there WAS no one in there. Without a moments hesitation, KJ walks around trying to find different entrances. "If there are people in there, I can double check by knocking on all entrances, IF they are locked"

With an eerie feeling, KJ walks slowly around the conor. In no time at all he sees at least a dozen of zombies scatterd around the west wing. "Damn, If I go back, those other things will proboly be by the door, I have to move on, no matter what" Slower then before, he inches to the door, hoping not to attract any more visitors.

The west wing was barricaded to, with much more force, KJ slams into the door, while slaming he yells, "HELP!!!"

Garreth seemed to scribble the info down onto his form very quickly. He got up and left the room to have a look around.

Raymond decided to take his time, choosing not to mention his criminal record on the form. He figured that being convicted of selling stolen cars had nothing to do with the current situation. It would probably give everyone the wrong impression about him, so he opted to leave that part blank.

Everything to the jury trial all the way to the death of his daughter, his life seemed grim.

"Damn I can't believe what I just did." Hiro yelled. "It's ok Hiro he wanted you to go." The girl said in a calm, soft, and sweet voice. "Your right." Hiro gave a sigh of relief. As he drove through town he saw a car the only good one around. He stopped his bike (actually it ran out of gas) "Lets hope this car has gas." The girl checked the back sets to see if any were there. It was good to. As they both were about to get in they herd a rustling sound. Out of nowhere popped out a hunter zombie(I can't remember what the names of the things that killed Alice’s [I[fake husband in the first movie.) "Oh shit" Hiro yelled. He pulled out his Katana and charged at the hunter. The girl got out her gun and started to shot at its head. "Why wont it die." she yelled "They can only be killed by fire. We have to lure it to the bike. You get in the car and go ten feet ok then come and get me when I hold my katana in the sky." "Right" the girl nodded. "Oh yeah leave your gun I will need it." All I have is one bullet." "That’s ok that’s all I need." With out any hesitations she throw him her gun and she drove off. "Hey ugly over here." Hiro was at his bike and the hunter jumped on it. That is the worst excuse ever. It doesn't take any time at all to press the enter key. If you can't deal with pressing the enter key then don't write dialouge with more than one person.

We have the quote feature on this site for a reason, please use it when you want to quote someone.

And the gas thing they well Umbrela only gave him a short amount. But when it died there still was enough to explod because gas don't take much to egnight.

"You don't mind If I take two?" KJ started to walk out of the room, but before he was gone, he turned back and saw a strap for the shotgun. He grab the strap and attached it to the 12 gauge. He threw it over his back, and he walked over to Rufus.

"Not if you know how to shoot. Only a few of us in here are decent shots. If you can down those things then I say the guns are better in your hands," said as KJ got the strap for the shotgun.

"Now all we have to do is get to the safe house"

"Yeah, but we can't do anything in this rain. So we're stuck here until tomorrow," Rufus shrugged.

OOC:

Now are we going to use the flag and air horn for te roof or find something else?

Well we can't use them with the rain going. It wouldn't do any good. I forget who first posted that it was raining but let's say it'll stop tomorrow so we can get KJ and the others to the safe house then the zombie attack can occur.

KJ smiled. "I worked for the Warren City SWAT team, sqaud alpha nine" "I think I had the best shot, KJ snickerd."

"Yeah, but we can't do anything in this rain. So we're stuck here until tomorrow," Rufus shrugged.

"The rain will hopefully stop tommorow, I'll go up to the roof tommorow morning and give the signal." KJ started walking back to the survivors. When he came back he spotted a young women, about late 20's. She was breath taking. KJ jogged over to Rufus. "He you didn't tell me about her, whats her name?"

KJ started to talk to Rufus, but Rufus walked off. "Ok, then" KJ walked towards kelly, but before he could reach her, KJ saw a man running towards them from the west wing, screaming. Without any hesitation, KJ ran towards the man, clearing the barricade that seperated them.

"What the hells wrong man?! The man was in shock, "Th..Th..The west wing doors destroyed....Zo...Zo...zomb..a...Zombies...Hundreds!....Coming! argh!" The man spazed out and died. "He was bitten" KJ ran towards Rufus, "We gotta get the hell out of here! rain or no rain I gotta get on the Roof, get these people out!" KJ turned and saw the man limp up, he was infected, the man was coming towards KJ, when the man was close enough, KJ tackled him and snaped his neck.

"I gotta get on the roof" KJ heard the zombies plunge their way in, they were getting close.

when the man was close enough, KJ tackled him and snaped his neck.

"I gotta get on the roof" KJ heard the zombies plunge their way in, they were getting close.

The infected man got up and Rufus wondered if KJ knew how lucky he was that he didn't get bitten doing something stupid like that. He drew out a small revolver and fired twice, one hitting through the collar bone the other just above the nose. The zombie fell to the ground and Rufus ran back.

A few other survivors had come and helped Rufus to push the barricades into place once again. Among them was the elected leader, Andrew, "Alright we need to secure an exit if we're going to get out of here. Get all the guns and ammo you can but conserve your shots for when we need them. Rufus, where did that newcomer go?"

"He said something about getting to the roof."

"No one will be able to see us in this rain, even if they were actually looking for us it would be hard."

"Let's hope your wrong Andrew."

"Yeah..." the group of survivors had started to make there way to one of the side exits and were already putting up more baricades but they weren't sure if they could be done in time.

Meanwhile on the roof of the Umbrela office building turned safehouse a man had just sneezed...

"I don't see why the chief makes us sit up here, especially in this rain," lookout one said.

"Yeah, I don't think we'll be able to see anything with day coming to an end," lookout two replied. "But orders are orders and we both know the chief will have our heads if we go back inside before our shift is over."

"Yes, bodily harm is enough to make me put up with this rain...."

He walked down to the stairs and eventually found his way to the parking lot as he wondered around. He went to one wall as he dropped the bag out of his left hand, taking the rifle off of his right shoulder as he sat down, the bag right at his left...

He brought his knees up to bend them as he rested his rifle slanted across his bag. He moved his arms to rest on his knees and his left hand grabbed his right wrist as he relaxed. His head went back and rested against the wall...

It had been a long past few days. His father had died, his mother was dead already, and now he was all alone as far as family went. He wouldve had the shop, but that was a no go until those damn things outside were gone, and to top it off he was stuck in this damn building...

His right hand moved from his knee to his pocket as he pulled out a pac of black and milds and a lighter. He opened up the box and to his dismay found only one left...

'Can this get any worse?'

He said a he tore the plastic from the cigar, taking the plastic tip in his mouth as he raised his left hand to light it. He threw the empty box aside as the end of the cigar began to turn red. He let out a deep breath as smoke filled the air in front of him, putting the lighter back in his pockets as he removed his beanie, scruffing up his hair...

He starting thinking about the brighter side of things as he inhaled the smoke of the cigar once again. It calmed him down, relaxed his mind and allowed him to think clearer in stressful situations. Smoke rolled from his mouth as he began to think out loud...

'Well, at least Im in here instead of out there with them, and plus theres other people I can get along with in here...'

He took another deep breath of the cigar, thinking of what he had just said. People... That was it, at least he could make some friends through all of this. He stood back up, hanging his beanie out of his back pocket as he threw the rifle back over his right shoulder and grabbed the bag in his left hand...

He began to head back towards the stairs, the black in his mouth less than half gone as he started walking up them. Raymond was where he had left him as he went back to sit down next to him, realizing he wasnt done yet as he set the bag at his feet and his rifle barrel up against the side of his chair...

'Things like that are pointless to me. Thats why I rushed through it so fast.'

He said, inhaling once more the smoke from within the black as he blew the smoke away from Raymonds face after holding it in for a bit. He didnt really believe what he had said, but writing was never his strong point, and anything that it was involved it was normally something Garreth wasnt...

He turned back to Raymond now...

'Your welcome to a hit if you want. Its just a regular black, helps ease my nerves, I dunno about you.'

He said, inhaling once more as he held the smoke in, taking the half-smoked black from his mouth with his right hand and offering it to Raymond...

"Don't mind if I do. My nerves could use all the help they can get." said Raymond, taking the cigar and enjoying a couple of deep puffs...

"Thanks for that," he said, handing back the cigar. He threw the completed registration form onto the desk nearby. "I think you're right. That probably was pointless. I don't see how we're gonna get out of this mess? Who knows how far this thing has spread by now?"

He paused for a moment before continuing, "I have a son, Richard. He's somewhere in the next city, and my ex-wife. I really need to find them...Do you have anyone out there?"

Ash left Raymond to work on the form and went to talk to the two other W.C.P.D. officers. The two mainly asked Ash questions about the outside and how bad it was. After speaking with them for a few minutes Ash returned to Garreth and Raymond.

"Well, I'm going back to my office and and get my things in order before my debriefing. I'll see you guys sometime soon. Oh, my office if on the third floor room 24-D, if you need anything," Ash shook their hands then went off to the third floor to get to his office.

He took off his kevlar vest and layed it against the wall. Why the cops wore it in a situation like this he wasn't sure. He guess that they were a type of uniform and gave the impresion of organization and control if all the cops were wearing one. Ash took a seat behind his desk and looked down at the city map he had been lasting looking at before he left early today for the rescue mission. The map had several markings showing where rescues had taken place or where extreme hot zones were.

Ash went to his pocket and pulled out a picture. It was of him and his wife and child. A simple day at the park. A community picnic, how things had changed. The person who had taken the photo was dead, another officer, Kenney Hensmar. Ash frowned and put the picture back in his pocket.

"There has to be a reason for these zombies," he spoke allowed to himself, "And I swear I'm going to find out what happened."

KJ ran as fast as he could, not looking back. "I hope Rufus and the rest of them get out ok" KJ slide down the East wing, he saw the stairway sign. Just 5 yards away from the stairway, KJ stoped dead in his tracks. At least five zombies were coming up the opposite way, about 2 yards from the stairway. "Oh crap" KJ swung his 12 gauge around and let a shell fly. The shotgun shell hit a zombie just above its forehead, the top half of his head flew right into the others. "Grr, Im wasting time" with out thinking twice, KJ ran towards the stairway. While running he was fireing his shotgun like a maniac, berly hitting the zombies.

KJ opened the stairway door and went in. He shut the door quickly. Sweat was running down his brow. "Well, that wasn't too hard" before he could catch his breath he looked up in shock, he heard footsteps, not one, or two, but at least a dozen. They were getting louder by the moment, KJ could hear the horrifying moans of the zombies, thirsty for flesh. "Shit, shit!!" KJ cursed. knowing that he couldnt go up, KJ ran down."This is stupid, but its the only way" Sprinting down the steps, KJ reached the bottom door, it was the basement parking garage. He opened it slightly.

Double checking to make sure it was safe, KJ walked in slowly. The garage was empty, except for a few mall transportation buses. KJ walked around hoping to find another stairway. *Woosh* KJ heard something *woosh* there it was again. Slower and slower KJ walked, turning in every direction. Just to be safe, KJ checked his shotgun, making sure there were enough shells in it. Good, it had at least 5 shells left. About halfway to the other side of the garage, KJ spotted another door. It too had the stairway sign on it. "Good, this is my way up" Before he could take another step KJ turned towards the other door he came out of. The zombies broke through and they were coming towards KJ. "Well at least I can out run them"

He turned and saw ten zombies, about 5 yards away. "Ok this is bad" He shot a zombie in the hip and ran. "I can maneuver around these things" Faster he sprinted, but he miss counted, the garage was filled to the brim with zombies, they were hidden in the dark" Dodgeing them left to right, fireing off shells, KJ thought he would never make it. before he got ganged up on, he opened the other stairway door and slammed it shut.

"Psh....that was easy" KJ was breathing very heavly, he continued to walk up the stairs. He got to the top door and he opened it. He was on top of the roof, it was pouring down rain. "Just great" KJ sat down begging to cry. "I failed, damn now those people will die" With anger he began to punch the roof floor. "I gotta at least try" wiping off tears KJ took out the air horn. In the rain KJ could berly make out to figaures on another roof, about 300 yards away. "Yes!, hopefully they could hear this" KJ ran towards the end of the roof. He blew the air horn, and a loud shattering noise occured. Nothing. KJ tried again, the noise occured and nothing happened. "What? this thing has enough fluid for one more blow, hoep it works" KJ blew it one last time, the noise seemed to be louder. He saw one of the figuares move.

'Not a problem'

Garreth said, taking the cigar back and taking a deep puff of his own as he listened to what Raymond was saying. As he breathed out smoke came from his mouth, away from Raymond, as he continued to listen. Lately he had only been thinking of himself...

Even though he knew his parents were dead, this man didnt even know how his family was. He figured it was almost the same feeling, and either way he had to realize he wasnt the only one with problems. He took another puff from the cigar before he began to speak...

'Im sorry to hear that man, but Im sure there fine. As soon as this shit hit the fan I bet they were outta there as fast as they could be, with news channels and all...'

He said, allowing the smoke to come from his mouth as he spoke, careful not to allow it to go into the face of Raymond. He had never liked when people did that to him, so he wasnt one to do it to anyone else...

'As for me, my mom died a couple of years ago, and my dad... Well my dad died just a couple of days ago. Damn things attacked us when he left our shop, and he didnt make it...'

He said, taking another deep puff, causing the plastic around the tip to begin to melt as he bent down to put it out on his bag. He discharged the smoke while he was still bent down, raising again as he tossed the tip onto the ground...

'Too bad thats the last one, cause I have a feeling we'll be needing alot more where that came from... But what about you, what did you do before all this mess came around?'

HE said, trying to change the subject to brighter times...

"Shit. I'm sorry to hear about you Dad." said Raymond, not quite sure what else to say. He had never been much good at trying to comfort people in awkward situations like this.

But what about you, what did you do before all this mess came around?'

Raymond gladly took the hint to change the subject, although he found talking about himself almost as difficult.
"Well...What can I say...I drink too much, I gamble, I've been in trouble with the law, I'm a terrible father, and my wife's divorced me. Basically I'm a complete loser. I hope I can take this opportunity to do something brave or good with my life. Maybe that's why I'm starting to lose any fear of these creatures, because I'm not afraid to die anymore. I just want to do something to make my son a little proud of me first."

He listened to him talk as he he stretched his legs out in front of him, moving his arms behind his head after he roughed his hair up a bit. It always got on his nerves because it never wanted to set the right way, but when it was damp it set fine. Didnt really matter now though, not like he had anyone to impress, just a couple thousand more zombies to kill...

'Naw man, dont think of it like that. We've all got our problems, but theres always time to redeem ourselves, and its up to us to figure out how. Im sorry about your son though, but you'll see him again, cause we're both gonna make it outta here.'

He said, trying to cheer him up, along with himself at the last portion. He did want to get out, but he wasnt trying to just fight for himself, that didnt seem right. His dad had always helped people in need, and he knew thats what he would do now if he was still here...

'And besides, right now a good drink would do me some good I think.'

He said, trying to lighten the mood with his joke. Yeah, he was a bit young to be drinking and smoking, but his father had always treated him like a man, and he had always acted like one. Him and his father were best friends, something he missed greatly...

There was a knock at Ash's door. Ash looked up from his map, "Enter," he commanded. A young officer came in out of breath, he had obviously been running.

"We think there are people in the mall not far from here. Chief wants your team to go out there again," he said panting all the while.

"Bullshit! My team can't go out there, it's nearly nightfall!"

"I'm just the messanger Lieutenant. You think they would wait to send a message in this rain, it must not be safe there anymore."

"Yeah yeah, just get on the speaker phone and tell my guys to get to the parking lot," Ash began to equip himself for the rescue attempt, "No time to rest..."

A minute or two later a voice came on the speaker phone calling for Blue Team to meet in the parking lot fully equiped. When Ash met with the other members of his team he knew the looks on their faces. They were nervous and mad. Ash would have a long talk with the Chief when he got back.

Once everyone arrived Ash gave a brief summary of why they had been called together, "Okay listen guys, it turns out there are some survivors in the mall closest to here. Apparently they're trying to signal us and I'm guessing they're desperate otherwise they wouldn't even bother in rain and fading daylight. So I'm expecting a whole shit load of zombies," Ash stopped and looked at the faces of his team.

They were all stern and but beyond that they showed little emotion, "Alright, let's do it!" The men went to their cars, two vans and two squad cars, ten men. The cars roared out of the parking lot and through the opened gates.

Ash looked back at Derek, "You feeling as bad about this as I am."

"You know it..."

OOC:

As Hiro moved forward in the mall he came past a gun shop that had already be broken into.

First off with the security guards there the people wouldn't need to break into any shops, they have the keys and can open the gates/bars from the control center. Second, there are no gun shops in the mall. I already went over that with UGA. Other than that it was a good post.

IC:

"HELLLLLLLLLLP" He yelled as loud as he could. Hoping someone would here him.

"Did you hear that?" Murphy said.

"Yeah! Come on man!" Larry said already running in the direction of the yelling.

"Hey, Where are you two going?" Scruff shouted behing them.

"We heard yelling, it sounded like help," Murphy called back.

"Be careful," Scruff quickly went back to work.

The men ran until they heard the noises, growling, barking, and yelling from someone inside.

"I'll draw them off, you get to the shop," Larry said running away from the stairs. He then began to shoot and create as much noise as he could trying to draw the hounds out from the shop. Murphy moved the stair barricade and slipped through running for the shop when he thought that most of the hounds were distracted by Larry.

He drew out his revolver as he entered the shop and fired three times. A hound dropped but there were two others still inside. He jumped behind the counter as one leapt at him. The other turned and ran at him from the opening in the side. He raised his gun and fired. The dog hit the ground and slid forward a bit.

The remaining hound jumped atop the counter and Murphy crawled forward some and then went into a run. He fired back two shots not bothering to aim. He didn't hear any yelps so he guessed the dog to still be alive. As he rounded the corner he saw the man they had come for. "Run man, run!" Murphy yelled chancing a look back to see the beast skid along the back isle then stop himself and start running forward.

Just then a message sounded over the loud speaker. It was telling Blue Team to meet in the parking lot fully equiped.

"Hey, do you think they're going out on another rescue mission? I wouldn't have minded tagging along on something like that. Oh well, come on, let's take the opportunity to have a nose around. Maybe we'll find a drink somewhere?" he said to Garreth as he got up from his chair.

'Hell, maybe they havent left yet. Id rather go out there than sit here and wait for them to come to us...'

He said as he headed down the stairs, waiting up for Raymond, though he feared he was already too late as he heard tires screeching just as he and Raymond, if he was still right behind him, began to hit the bottom of the stairs...

He said jokingly, bringing the bag over his left shoulder while he still held the straps in his left hand...

'Sounds like a plan to me.'

Said Garreth as he followed up the stairs, and once they found nothing on the floor they had previous been on led up to the next floor. This floor was a bit different, wherein on the last floor there was an open area here there was a booth, like a security booth of some sort. It seemed a bit strange, but nothing too out of the ordinary, so Garreth continued on...

He led down one hallway, but to his dismay all of the doors, three in all, except for a janitors closet, had been locked. Strange once again, and so he headed back to the start where there were two more hallways they hadnt explored, talking as he did so...

'Ya know, its kinda weird that they'd take time to lock up the doors on this level and not the last, I mean, that would be the last thing on my mind. And that security booth back there? Maybe there's something up here we aren't supposed to know about...'

Garreth wasnt really sure, but he knew that the bag in his left hand was sure getting heavy, and once back to the security desk put it and his rifle down, sliding it down underneath it...

As he did he saw a couple of security screens, further insuring that there was indeed something on this floor, but it could be a miriade of things. One thing did stick out however, because most of the screens were of hallways, while two were different...

One was facing a door, and the other was inside another room, facing a desk with a blank wall behind it. Garreth looked back up at Ray...

'Hey, come 'ere and have a look at this.'

He said, pointing to the screens that stood out, both sporting Umbrella Corp. logos...

Garreth had already been looking around the screen and desk, but besides a keypad and some other buttons there wasn't much to go on there. He took another look at the screens, and then went back to talking with Raymond...

'Yeah, Id say your right, and hell, if nothing else it gives us somethin to pass tha time with, eh?'

He said, laughing a bit...

'Not really, I think its science and all that jazz, but thats never been my strong point.'

He said as he tried to open one of the two drawers on the security desk. One opened with out any problem, but it was empty...

'Figures, but whats behind drawer number two?'

He managed to joke a bit as he moved to open the other drawer. This one didnt open though, locked. There was a key hole above the handle, and since he didnt really know much about picking locks he set off to find a key...

'Its a long shot, but maybe theres a key around here somewhere?...'

He started looking around on the floor, and under the desk...

Flark

"Hmm, science isn't my strong point either." said Raymond as he threw the documents back onto the desk, uninterested.

"But maybe I can do something with that lock, let me have a look."

Raymond knelt down in front of the desk and got out his knife. He used it to unscrew the casing from around the lock on the front of the drawer.

"Before I got into the business of selling car, let's just say I was in the business of 'acquiring' cars." he said slyly as worked away at the lock.

Once he had the front piece of casing removed, he poked the knife inside the keyhole and began probing away at the locking mechanism. The knife scratched and scraped inside until eventually there was a loud clicking sound.

"We're in." said Raymond with a smile. He removed the knife and pulled the drawer open as they both looked inside...

Garreth said as he waited until Raymond had the lock pick, wherein he crouched down beside Raymond and the now opened drawer. He looked in only to see more files, but these had to be more important that the last...

His fingers shuffled through the files, picking out one labelled 'Security Logs' as he handed it back to Raymond. Reading wasn't his strongest point, and he was big on doing it either...

'I never liked reading in school, you dont mind, do you?'

He said as he continued to shuffle through the files, hoping to find something else of particular interest. The only thing close that he found was something about blueprints as he place it on the table, careful to keep his place in the iles he had already looked over...

He was a bit slow with some of the less common words, but was sure that nothing else was anything important, except what was found shoved at the back of the drawer...

'What do we have here?'

He said as he reached back to grab whatever it was that was reflecting a bit of the light that got to it. -Jingle Jingle- Rang the keys as he pulled them from their home. Strange that they were in a locked cabinet, but hell, what wasn't strange these days...

'Bingo, maybe these babies'll help us out, though Ive got a feeling we'll still be needing that knife too...'

He said as he tossed the keys in the air, catching them with a proud smile. He leaned back against the desk afterwards, waiting to see if Raymond had uncovered anything...

(OOC: Talk about 'passing the book', lol)

"Hey, a lot of this technical jargon means nothing to me." said Raymond as he flicked through the 'Security Logs', quickly scanning over each page.

"Wait a minute, what's this?" just as he was about to give up, he stopped on the last page as something caught his eye.

"These look like passwords. I wonder if they activate these computers? Or maybe they open up those locked doors? Take a look, what do you think?"

'Passwords eh?'

Damn, so much for his boastful smile upon finding the keys as he went over to look at the sets of numbers on the page. He glanced at those, and then back over at the keypad that was on the desk, and then to Raymond...

'You dont think...'

He said as he moved towards the keypad, waiting for Raymond to bring his 'book o' passwords.' It seemed to fit, a keypad, an enter button just a bit below, and now several sets of numbers. Now they just needed to figure out which ones did what, he s'posed...

(OOC:Tamachi, I think we have a charming way of getting through this sort of thing without have any idea what we're really doing, lol)

Raymond inspected the page more carefully. The passwords were tied in with the appendix of the 'Security Log'. The 'Log' was split into several seperate sections, each one therefore having it's own password.

"I think each of these passwords must open one of those locked doors in the hallway. This file is split into sperate sections, each one is a log for people entering and exiting these rooms. It seems like whatever's in them is pretty important. There's an entry of the time and date of anyone who's ever been in or out of those rooms recorded in this file. Come on, let's punch one of the passwords into that keypad and see what happens?" suggested Raymond. He then began to read out the first password for Garreth to enter.

Garreth thought to himself as he slowly entered the digits into the keypad, careful not to make any mistakes. Once he had entered them he moved his finger over the enter button, moving his eyes to watch the screens as he started to speak...

'You watch those screens, and Ill watch these... Maybe somethin'll happen?'

He said as he watched his screens, pressing the button though nothing appeared to happen on any of his screens, though down one of the halls he heard a buzzer like noise, like a door being unlocked. He couldnt tell which one, but maybe Raymond had seen it on one of his screens...

"I didn't see anything move on the screens, but there was definately a sound like a door being unlocked come from down the hall. Come on, let's check it out."

Raymond wandered off down the hallway. He stopped at the first of the locked doors he came to and examined it. There was a small panel to the right of the door with a single button. Above the button was a tiny light flashing green.

"It's flashing green now. We must have unlocked it!"

With his knife held ready, Raymond pressed the open button and watched the door open electronically before him. Inside, the room was filled with more desks, filing cabinets and office computers.

"Oh shit, is that it? I was hoping for something interesting! I'm getting tired of this crap." said Raymond disheartedly.

Garreth had moved to be on the other side of the door, with his gun ready in his right hand in case there was somethin inside the room. Partly to his dismay and partly to his liking there was nothing, as he holstered his pistol again and looked over and Raymond, noticing he had only a knife...

'Well hey, if we were coporate spies this would be a field day, but theres gotta be somethin in one of these rooms. But in case there is, you might want this, eh?'

He said, grabbing the pistol out of his left holster and holding it out for Raymond to grab. At close range these things were deadly, and with a knife that only made it worse, so a gun would the way to go...

"Hey, thanks Garreth, I appreciate it." said Raymond, checking out the pistol with a slight grin.

He looked around the room a bit but nothing really caught his eye except for the coffee machine. Raymond wandered over to it and gave it a try. The machine hummed and gurgled a bit, before dispensing a plastic cup of hot coffee.

"Not bad." said Raymond after trying a sip. "Maybe not quite the drinks we were looking for, but still..."

Raymond sat himself down at one of the desks to enjoy the brew.

"What should we do now?" he asked "Do you want to go back and try another passcode for one of the other doors? Or maybe we should get a few hours rest while we've found somewhere safe and quiet?"

'But they're drinks either way...'

He said, coming back into the room just seconds later, his rifle and bag in hand. He sat down in a chair behind a desk, laying his rifle and bag on the desk as he unzipped the bag. He looked through everything he had, laying the shotgun on the table as he moved back to the coffe machine to grab his cup...

'Or you can take the twelve gauge, I almost forgot abou that bad boy...'

He said with a grin that matched the previous one Raymond had given him, sitting back in the chair as he turned to him and began to answer his question...

'Well, if we go to sleep and something happens I doubt that they would have time to come and look for us. Im still puttin money that there is somethin in one of these rooms, what about you?'

He said, taking a sip of the coffee, careful not to burn his tongue as he did so...

"Who said anything about leaving them behind? Are we going now Andrew?" Scruff asked.

He slid the pistol and spare mag back into there slots. He figured he'd take the shotgun. It was just a normal short barrel pump action 12 gauge, with a strap for shoulder carry and a sleeve on the butt that would hold five rounds to be loaded in, aside from the four it could hold to be fired. He soon heard what Raymond had to say...

'Haha, very funny.'

He said sarcastically, taking a drink of his coffee once more before sitting it onto the table. He reached down into his bag, taking out a box of ammo for the shotgun and holding it in his hand as he looked over at Raymond...

'But you might need some bullets, laughing boy.'

He said, rolling his chair over to his desk and sitting the box of ten 3" buck shot shells down...

'It should hold four, one in the chamber and then three more to pump in.'

He said, rolling back to his desk to take another sip of coffee, bigger this time. He wasnt really one for coffee, and he'd kill to get a coke, not to mention what he'd do for a couple of good shots...

'Well, I guess Im ready when you are... If nothin else we can find a Coke machine, I haven't had a Dew in days.'

The mall survivors turned and ran through the exit as the zombies overtook the hastefully set up barricades. Four were left inside when the atractive Kelly fell to the floor tripping over her own feet in panic. "Get her up!" Andrew shouted at the door firing until his magazine was empty.

A zombie came up from his side and he reluctantly side stepped out the door and let the clip drop the floor. He quickly drew out another one and pushed it in to place he put one bullet in the chamber and ran back to the door.

Rufus pulled Kelly to her feet but met face to face with the zombie Andrew had been forced to flee from. He rasied his gun but was hit from the side falling to the floor.

Liz, the other remaining survivor fired off a round that went through the temple of the zombie and Rufus pushed the thing off pushing himself to his feat. He looked to where Kelly and the zombie were to see the zombie on the ground and glass on the door shattered.

Andrew had fired through the door at the back of the zombie's head. Liz and Rufus turned and unloaded their weapons as Kelly ran for the door. She slipped on the blood from the zombie.

She kept moving on her hands and knees and crawled through the opening created by Andrew cutting herself. Rufus and Liz leapt out and turned reloading their weapons as they ran to the South side. Andrew helped Kelly to her feet and joined the others.

Ash had heard the gun shots before he opened the South side door and ordered his men down that way at a run. They saw a group of just over ten people running towards them followed by a crowd of zombies.

Ash went to the radio on his person and called in for the vans and squad cars. They came screeching down the road and stopped just short of Ash and his men.

The police fired off several shots at the closer zombies but once everyone was in the vans they dove into their squad cars and fled the zombie hoard.

He said sarcastically as he got up, grabbing both the bag and his rifle in his usual way. He headed out the door and back down the hallway towards the security booth, right behind Raymond. Once there he slid his bag and rifle underneath the table, the rifle having to be slanted as it wouldnt fit horizontally...

'I think they'll be safe there... Now where were we?'

He said, looking back at the papers that contained the security codes, picking the next one down as he turned back over to the small keypad, walking over to face it as he looked back over at the paper, reading the numbers aloud as he typed them in, a few seconds delay between each...

'3.. 2.. 1.. 8.. 4.. 1... There we go, that should do it.'

He said, hinting at the noise that sounded once again down the hall. He walked down towards the door they had just opened, and then past it. He figured if that passcode had unlocked that one, the next one would unlock a nearby door...

He was right, another green light and another now unlocked door. He reached down, grabbing first his left pistol, chambering a round then holstering it again as he drew his right pistol, chambering a round into it as well though he kept this one drawn. He waited until his 'partner' was near before he opened the door...

He reached over with his left hand across the door facing to open the door, holding the pistol in his right hand as he swung it open...

'Damn, not even a coffee machien in this one...'

He said, the room was the same as the last, nothing special at all. He holstered his pistol once more, checking both safetys on each gun before he spoke again...

'Maybe you should pick the next code, eh?'

He said with a laugh, beginning to head back to the security desk yet again...

Rather reluctantly, Raymond followed Garreth back to the security boothe. He picked up the log and entered the next code into the keypad.

They couldn't hear a noise from the door, but they figured it was probably because the doors were getting further away from the boothe as they worked their way further down the list.

"Come on then, let's see what surprises are in store for us this time?" Raymond said with a grin as he lead the way back down the hall.

Stopping at the next door along from where they had just checked, Raymond noticed the green light flashing.

He unslung the shotgun and held it ready, before pressing the open button.

The room inside looked like some kind of conference room. It was mainly filled a large oval shaped glass table with the Umbrella insignia etched into it. Many large comfortable looking leather seats were positioned around it. The walls to the left and right of the table were covered in large video screens.

Raymond entered the room and picked up the only item on the table. It was a hand held remote control. He pointed it at the set of screens to the left and pressed on.

Instantly the screens lit up with the Umbrella logo, after a few seconds an introduction video started running, talking about Umbrella research. It began with images and detailed information about a 'secret laboratory hidden deep beneath the city'. According to the blueprints access could be gained through this very building. Raymond stared in horror and amazement as it went on to show and explain the research that went on deep beneath their very feet...

Since they were more or less taking turns with the doors, Garreth allowed Raymond to take the point this time, following him down the hall and to the door that was now blinking green. Once there he allowed him to enter fist, pistol drawn and ready if anything were to happen...

He followed in right behind him, and upon realizing that there was nothing dangerous, went on to look for his Mountain Dew. He had seen the table, as well as the screens btu had missed the remote as well as Raymond picking it up...

'Shit!'

He screamed as he swung around, almost firing a bullet into the viewing screen as he let out a sigh of relief. At the first of the video there had been an eerie noise, like some opening credits to movies, a rather high, drawn out tone. No matter now, as he walked towards the nearest chair, one at the head of the table, and took a seat...

He watched in horror as the computerized voice explained everything he wasnt able to comprehend from the images. What in the hell was a lab doing underneath their city, and why hadn't they been told about it?

'What in the hell?'

Was all he managed to get in, whispering it more to himself than anyone. Not much of this meant anything to him, the scientific terms that is. Truth of the matter be if it wasnt for the images that followed along with most of the experiments then he wouldnt have a clue as to what anyone was talking about...

As of now most of the experiments had been small, and were not of much concern, at least in the present situation. It continued on until it abruptly stopped, a black color overcoming the screens as it went to security screen...

All that could be seen was the Umbrella Corp. logo, followed by six small dashes beneath...

-Authorization required-

Was all the computerized voice had to say. The cold tone lingered a bit until Garreth finally spoke up...

'What in the hell is going on? First an underground lab and now this?'

He said standing, looking at the screens as if it would help any. The remote looked to have a keypad on it as well, and maybe one of the passcodes unlocked this as well, but he wasnt sure...

'You dont think one of the other passcodes would open this up do you? Maybe try the passcode to this room? Worth a shot Id say...'

He said, not really wanting to walk back down there again and retrieve the passcodes, but he would if he had to...

Flark
07/30/2005 8:10 AM

Raymond tried the room passcode into the remote.

The screens displayed, -ACCESS DENIED, then returned to the starting logo.

"Shit. I don't think there was anything in that log that looked like a passcode for this, but I suppose it's worth a try. I'll go get it." he said, heading back towards the boothe.

Raymond returned with the log and examined it further.

"I really don't think any of these codes will work, but I'll try them anyway. Why don't you go check out the last couple of rooms while I try these? If you run into any trouble, just give me a shout." he suggested.

Tamachi
07/30/2005 9:03 AM

'Damn!'

He said as the computerized voice rang out and the six dashes were restored. He flopped back down into his chair, nodding to Raymond as he left the room...

'Passcode this, passcode that... Damn things...'

He was still whispering complaints to himself once Raymond re-entered the room, though he quickly stopped and stood as he listened to what he had to say...

'Alright, lemme just get a quick look at the last couple of passcodes and Ill be on my way.'

He said as he walked over to the list of passcodes Raymond had just sat down onto the table, looking at the last two passcodes of rooms on that page, and apparently that floor. They were labelled out beside each one, and they had been through all but two on this level...

'I think that should do it...'

He said, whispering the numbers to himself as he left the room, walking rather fast down to the boothe as he typed them in, trying not to forget what they were. Luckily he heard a buzz after he completed the first passcode, moving on to the next one as he began to type it in...

'Yes!'

He said as he heard another buzz, meaning that the door had been unlocked, but wait, what was this? The screen that was overlooking a door was now different. Instead of a red color next to the door it was now flashing green. He looked over at the other camera screen of the room and tried to memorize some of the surroundings inside of it...

'Bingo'

He said as he left the boothe, walking down and past the door they had just unlocked and to the other rooms. He unholstered his pistol as he reached the first room, opening it up rather quickly, as if knowing the contents of the room already. It was just like the other two rooms, office desks and computers...

'Figures...'

He said as he walked out of the room, turning to walk to the other door. Once there he looked at the wall adjacent to the door, noticing the camera as he went to turn to face the door again, noticing something at the end of the hall...

At the end of the hall one side opened up farther, with enough room to allow for a Coke machine and a snack machine to be placed, and be out of eye sight until one was right on top of them. He stood there for a second in amazement, still facing the machines as he shouted down the hallway...

'Found tha snack machines!'

He said, turning to walk away as he went back to the door. He unholstered his pistol again, opening the door to the other room, pistol ready. This room was different, having only one desk and a computer, and on the walls were several plaques, belonging to a Dr. Carter. He walked behind the desk, holstering his pistol as he tried to open the drawers. Of course, they were locked. He walked back to the door frame, leaning against it as he shouted down the hallway...

'I hope you still have that knife of yours, cause we need it again! Whenever you finish those passcodes there's s'more locked drawers down 'ere!'

He said, waiting for Raymond to come to and 'unlock' the locks...

Raymond tried typing more codes into the remote control with no success.

'Found tha snack machines!'

Nice one thought Raymond, quickly giving up with trying to view the rest of the video. It was quite obvious that a different code entirely was needed to access it.

'I hope you still have that knife of yours, cause we need it again! Whenever you finish those passcodes there's s'more locked drawers down 'ere!'

"Yeah, I'm on my way." he called back, heading up the hall towards him.

Raymond entered the office room belonging to a certain Dr. Carter, where Garreth was waiting.

"No luck with that video. Maybe we'll find something to do with it in here?" he said, as he got out his knife and got to work on the locked drawers.

'If we're lucky we will.'

He said as he looked around the room for anything else that might help them out. The desk was pretty vacant, save for a calendar that seemed pretty normal, and the computer was turned off, and like everything else more than likely passworded. He started looking around the room, particularly at the plaques...

'Hey, this Carter guy's name is six letters, think thats a clue?'

He said, walking back to the desk to flip on the computer, making sure to give Raymond enough room to work as he waited for the computer to boot up...

'Hey, this Carter guy's name is six letters, think thats a clue?'

"It's got to be worth a try logging onto the computer with." answered Raymond.

After struggling for a few minutes with the drawer, he finally managed to get it open using the knife.

Inside the drawer were various folders and document. A quick flick through them led Raymond to believe there could well be useful information contained within them.

Hidden underneath all the papers was a plastic keycard.

"Bingo!" exclaimed Raymond, grabbing it and holding it up to show Garreth. "This has got to be useful. Maybe it'll give us access to the underground laboratory. Now we just need to find an elevator or something?"

'It cant hurt'

He said as he waited for the computer to load. About the time that Raymond picked the lock a hard drive password screen had popped up on the computer, and Garreth had entered the doctors last name, causing the screen to go to his desktop just as Raymond found the key card and proclaimed "Bingo!"...

'You took the words right outta my mouth.'

He said as he moved the mouse around, searching through the desktop for anything that seemed juicy. Most of the stuff seemed pretty boring, except for one file that his mouse moved over...

'T-Virus eh?'

He double clicked on the file, only to see another password prompt...

'Oh damn these passwords to hell!'

He said, typing in Carter once more expecting it to work, but it didn't. He decided to click on another file, but this one wasn't locked, and niether were any of the other files he tried opening...

'Thats weird, this looks like the only one that is locked, must be somethin good... You wanna give it a shot?'

He said, moving back from the keyboard and mouse...

As the vans and police cars left the mall parking lot in an obvious hurry driving right past a group of monsterous hounds that were upon an car. Ash scanned the car and saw the terrified girl inside he was about ready to hault the car then saw the window crush and the blood splatter he turned his head back straight.

The cars made it to the safehouse with little problems, aside from the massive hoard of zombies at the mall the streets were clear. They pulled into the parking lot and as before men and women were waiting for them. They took the injured to a make shift hospital. The others were taken to the registration room.

"Lieutenant Meier," a man spoke to Ash.

"Yes?"

"Chief wants everyone in for debrief now."

Ash and several of the other officers sighed then drug themselves to a conferance room. The men all took their seats waiting for the chief to speak.

"Well good work today boys. From what I hear we didn't lose anyone this time. Very good. So how is it out there?"

"The same it's been for the past four days. We're going to run out of supplies if we keep having to do this," Ash replied.

"Yes, I was thinking the same thing. But there isn't much we can do. We lost good men and women trying to get to that radio tower. We can't even find safe routes across the city. I know you have family there Meier. And we have no way to know if they're alright. The whole thing is just bad..." the chief stopped speaking and gazed at the sober faced Ash.

"We came here for the debrief. We all know about the situation, let's just get the information down," Ash said without emotion. The cheif nodded and the group retold the rescue events and the newcomers they had brought.

They took the injured to a make shift hospital. The others were taken to the registration room.

KJ followed the rest of the survivors to the registration room. He was glad that everything was alright, for now.... He stood silently as officers gave instructions on how to fill out the forms. Thinking about his past life, he remembers the tragic insident of his unfair trial. He would make sure he wouldn't write that down. KJ recieved the papers and quickly sat down at the nearest table.

The questions seemed easy, name, age, blood type, occupation, he froze when he came to backround. KJ didn't know what to write. Feeling awkward, he began to scribble down certain things. Everything but the trail and of the murder of his partner. He didn't think anyone else should know about it. He finished with relief and walked out of the room.

While walking down the hall, KJ spotted the hospital wing. He walked over to the area, he saw Kelly, it seemed they were patching her up, some sort of cut perhaphs. He decided to wait until she got out to talk to her. KJ decided to go over to an officer, he was next to hiro. "Sorry to interupt, but what do we do after we fill out our forms?"

Screams could be heard but no one came to help. The girl in the car was trapped. The zombies had trapped her in. Hell hounds started to ram the windows. "Help." Thats all could be heard. She had no weapon no defense. Glass flew every where the hounds had broken through. A bloody scream filled the air.....

He took another bite of the candy bar and another swig of the Coke as he nodded in agreeance, sitting the half empty can back down as well as the Snickers bar, heading down towards the doors at the same pace as Raymond...

He figured it would be the same as the last rooms, save for the apparent conference room, but he wasn't taking any chances as he reached the first door, which just so happened to be on his side of the hall. He drew his pistol and opened the door, cautiously but at the same time quickly...

'Wow, who woulda guessed?...'

'Any luck in your room?'

He said, leaving the door cracked as he exitted the room...

Raymond waited until Garreth had checked out the first room before he tried the second.

This room was clearly different. Inside looked like a sort of security check-point with reinforced glass pannels to the sides. Between the pannels was a barrier. Beyond the glass pannels and barrier was a door which curiously looked like that of an elevator.

"I think we've just found the way into that underground lab! Typically the last place we looked, eh?"

He strolled forward and approached the waist heigh barrier, then got down on his knees and crawled underneath it before standing back up. Just behind the pannels was a switch. He flicked it upwards and the barrier immediately raised itself giving them easier access.

"Come on, let's see if this key card activates the elevator, then maybe we should report back to the cops downstairs?"

The rain had turned to a slight drizzle and would hopefully stop soon. THe Chief got up and walked to the window, "Take a look at that Meier." he said pointing to the rain water, stained a slight red from blood flowing down into the gutter.

"Good thing that huge water treatment plant was built last year," Ash said as he watched the water continue to flow. "This is some fucked up situation, huh."

"Yeah, what really bothers me is that nobody knows what's wrong."

"What do you mean?"

"Think about. We have an airport here, no planes have been seen for four days. All of our outside communication has been cut and yet no one has come here to see what is wrong. It has to be a cover up."

"You can't just black out an entire city. It makes logical sense that someone would come."

"You're right, but how much longer do we have to wait."

"Hopefully not long," Ash said taking in to consideration what The Chief had said about a cover-up...it couldn't be true, could it?

"Sir, we have Governor Isacson on the phone for you," a woman spoke through a speaker phone.

"Put him through," he said pushing a button on the machine.

"Hello Governor, what can I do for?" the seated man said calmly.

"Listen here Marchovy, I want information on this epidemic in Warren City."

"I'm sorry sir but we know almost nothing about it. We think it may have been a biological weapon. I've already contacted higher-ups and they are sending experts to work with our scientists."

"Alright," the governor replied, "Make sure you send any new information to my desk right away."

"Of course, goodbye Governor."

"Goodbye," Isacson said with some reluctance.

Thomas Marchovy leaned back in his chair after he had hung up on Governor Isacson. The Umbrela Corporation as a whole had become fully aware of the outbreak on the second day. The man who was locally in charge set up measures to quarantine the city. Then the issue had been transfered to Chairman Thomas Marchovy.

Marchovy knew the only way to truly cover up the situation would be to burn Warren City to the ground. He could keep the United States government off his back for a little longer but sooner or later something would give and Umbrela could be found out. Marchovy couldn't allow that. He turned his chair and looked out his window at the sky. The Warren City incident would be controlled, Marchovy was sure of this.

First he tried the call button just to be sure, but as he suspected, nothing happend. He then proceeded to insert the keycard which disappeared completely into the slot. Now pressing the call button caused it to light up.

"It worked."

They waited but the lift seemed to take an awful long time to arrive.

"Damn, I wonder how far down does this thing goes?"

Eventually the lift arrived and the doors opened with a ping and the key card released itself. Raymond had the shotgun prepared, but to his relief the lift was empty. Taking the card, he then checked inside but there was nothing more than a single button and another card slot.

"Right, I think we've done enough. I don't know about you, but I really don't feel like going down there without at least warning the others about this first. Should we head down and tell those guys what we've found? They should probably be back from there mission by now I would expect."

"Hi Ash, pleased to see you made it back safely. While you were gone, we took the opportunity to do quite a thorough search of the building and managed to open a few of the locked doors upstairs. We've found a few things that you may find...interesting.

As you may well know, this building is owned by the Umbrella Corporation. But do you know exactly what Umbrella have been working on? It seems they have been carrying out all kinds of genetic experiments, and we've actually found an elevator which we highly suspect leads down to a secret underground laboratory.

'Well, to make a long story short, me and Raymond here were getting bored of just sitting around and doing nothing, so while Ash and his crew were gone on the rescue mission we decided to do some exploring. We went up a few floors and starting exploring the rooms, and most of them were just your average office rooms, save for three.

The first one was a conference room, with a video screen that showed an lab underground this very building. The next room apparently belonged to a lead scientist here. We found a keycard in his office, and went on to find a room with an elevator, which we are guessing leads to that underground lab. The keycard unlocked the elevator, and thats when we came back here...'

"Ash, we'll leave you to prepare your team, but make sure you come and find us before you head down into the lab. I'm sure you could use two extra men, and we really want to see what's been happening down there for ourselves, right Garreth?"

Raymond removed the elevator keycard from his pocket and offered it to Ash.

"Are we in on this?"

"Yeah," Ash said taking the card, "Just know though, the lab could be even worse than up here. If you want, I'd be willing to have you guys on my team, more help is always good." Ash shook hands with the men and asked them to wait there. Ash would be back and they could go to the armory together.

Ash walked through the makeshift safehouse in search of his team members. The speaker phone would have been much easier but with the team being called together like that, too many questions would be asked. Ash wasn't bothered by it. He knew where his men usually were. It wasn't long before he found Derek and Sam. He told them to help gath the team and report to the armory.

'Damn skippy!'

Garreth replied immediately after Raymond had turned to him to make she he wanted in on it as well. He was getting tired of being couped up inside the building and wanted to go out and do more than what he had been doing. That, and plus his curiousity was getting the best of him, something he had a bad habit of...

Garreth simply nodded when asked to stay there, sitting down on the glass table behind him as he started checking his pistols, speaking to Raymond as he did so...

'So, whadaya think is down there?'

"Who knows? I guess we'll be finding out soon enough though," replied Raymond. He remained seated as he ran a hand through his dark curly hair thoughtfully.

"If this lab really is the source of the zombie infection, then's always a chance there could be some sort of cure down there. Let's just keep our fingers crossed."

After severl minutes Ash entered the conference room, "Well follow me down to the armory so we can get you boys outfitted before we head out. The rest of my team is already down there." Ash took Raymond and Garreth down into the office storage room which was currently filled with police equipment and Ash's team. The men had not yet been briefed on the mission they were about to go on but Ash had no intention of leaving them in the dark.

Ash waited till the door was closed so no one could hear him outside, "Listen up," the men turned their attention to Ash, "First off I'd like to introduce two people that are going to joining us, Garreth and Raymond. Second, I'd like to apologize for keeping you in the dark like this but I will explain everything when we get upstairs to the conference room."

"I thought all those doors were locked," Derek said.

"They were, but that's beside the point. Just get your gear together and be ready to move out."

He entered the room just seconds after the others it seemed like, just in time to her his introduction being made as he sit his bag down, the rifle slung over his right shoulder and both pistols holstered...

'Im Garreth...'

He said with a nod to the others, taking a quick look around to see who all was there...

"I thought all those doors were locked," Derek said.

Davian was bustling about, as usual. He was minutes away from completing the project. Then it all went wrong. The alarm bell screeched, signalling the horde had breached security. Lucas sat at one of the few chairs that was free in this over crowed "safe" house. A hand full of cheerio's was the only solid food he had had today and his body was makeing sure he knew it. The last few day's had gone by so fast what he once thought were thugs were now "zombies" it seemed at first it might have been a group on angle dust or some new drug but it was when he saw a corpse crawl towards him his view really changed.

the overpopulated room was makeing him very uncomfortable, there had to be something better he could do then just sit around waiting for something to happen. Finaly he dug a crushed granola bar from his duffle bag and an energy drink.

There had to be a 7 11 some were close, or some building that at one time sold food With this many people in this small of a room it would not take long for the need of food and water to highten the level of stress in which case people become very.........unpredictible with there actions.

He would need a few other people with him if he went to get food and water. there wasn't a way he could carry enough food and water by himself and still be agile enough to survive the roaming gangs of....zombies

The first zombie crawled through the air duct. Davian lifted up his shotgun, pulling the trigger. The zombie exploded into a gory mess, showering the room. Tarott turned the room's auto-defences, and the gun turrets began firing. Zombies splatted left and right, but they kept crawling through the shaft. Tarott had ten minutes tops. Becky was tired of sitting. She stood up, popped her back, cracked her neck, and went to see who was in the safe house. She had already met pretty much everyone there, but she was bored, and needed something to do. She noticed Lucas sitting on a chair, a packe between his legs, food and drink in his hands, and a nervous expression on his face.

The teenager grabbed her own belongings, and went over to talk to him. She was careful to keep her gun and ammunition in her own bag. No need advertising the fact that she was armed. Besides, she didn't want her only source of protection being stolen from her.

"Hey," she said to Lucas. "My name's Becky. What's yours?"

"Hey Phil, does that look like a light to you?" One guard said to another.

"It's been two days since we've been here, I think we would have noticed if someone was in a building next to us."

"Still, we 'ought to report it."

"Yeah, I suppose..." Phil turned and walked back inside to report the sighting. After he reported it the request was sent for a team to go check it out. It would a few minutes but the team would be sent out.

Meanwhile in the armory Ash's team finished getting their gear together, "Alright, let's head out," Ash said. The assembled group made their way to the elevator and Ash turned and stopped.

"Alright here's the plan, Derek Sam and I go down first. One of us will bring the elevator back up if everything is good to go. If we don't come back up report to The Chief, and you'll move from there." Ash turned to Derek and Sam who reluctantly stepped forward. Ash pressed the button on the elevator and after a few moments of silence the traditional ding could be heard.

The three men stepped into the elevator and Ash pressed the button to go down. The doors shut and the three readied their guns.

Still clutching the shotgun which Garreth had given him, Raymond waited amongst the team of police officers in front of the elevator. He certainly didn't envy Ash and his two companions role of going down there first. If this underground laboratory really was the source of this outbreak, God only knew what lurked down there now.

Raymond ran a hand through his dark bushy hair, it was something he usually did when he was stressed out. He had noticed himself doing it more and more as the tension had built up in him since volunteering for this 'mission'. Still, he had no regerets. Raymond had done enough sitting around. His reluctance to leave his own appartment in the first outbreak may have initially saved his life, but he had almost stayed there too long and missed being rescued. No, the time for taking a back-seat was over. It was time for action. It was time for Raymond to actually do something honourable for once. Throughout his life he had been a constant failure, letting down those who cared for him most. He couldn't even managed to be a good father. Now he wanted nothing more than to get out of this city and find his son safe. If there was a chance that he could somehow find a way to help control this outbreak, to prevent it spreading further than Warren city. He was willing to go through anything if it would help prevent his son befalling the same fate he had witness happen to the residents of Warren city. If it cost him his life, so be it.

Raymond clutched at the shotgun again with both hands tightly. Breathing deeply he tried to mentally prepare himself for what he was about to face.

"Becky I don't...didn't live in this area of the city. do you know Were is the closest store is? ... someplace that would have food and drinks? I thought I saw a 7 11 a block and a half away when we were being rushed towards this place. "

Phil came out of Sergeant Casey's office and went back to the gate. He went back to where he had been standing outside and watched the clouds in the soon to be night sky.

"Well I reported to Casey. He said he'll put priority one on it and get it to The Chief."

"I bet Ash won't be too happy about going out again."

"Ha yeah, we're lucky we get to stay safe behind the gates and walls."

"Amen to that....."

Meanwhile in the office of The Chief, Sergeant Casey had just been given orders to assemble a team and go next door. When asked why Ash didn't take his team, The Chief let the Sergeant in on the mission. Casey understood the importance of keeping the mission a secret and went off to gather his team.

(OOC: Note: It will take Casey about 10 minutes to gather a team and leave. I will post with him again at that point.)

Ash felt his heart beating fast as the elevator went down. The aminously calm elevator music didn't help his nerves and when the elevators finally stopped and the three police officers took their stance. The doors opened with a polite ding and the men were greeted with a large open room. Ash stepped outside with Derek and Sam falling in behind him. A small flight of stairs, wide enough to fit six people led down to a lower area that had doors at the opposite end.

The strangest thing Ash saw were what appeared to be train tracks. "How could we have missed a subway?"

"This whole thing is giving me a bad feeling Ash," Derek said looking down the tunnel.

"Agreed, but it seems this room is safe enough, at least for now. Sam, go up and get the others."

Sam nodded and ran back to the elevator, somewhat eager to leave the room. Derek and Ash looked around a bit but chose not to open the doors just yet. Ash scanned the high ceiling and wondered exactly how far below ground level they were.

"This is sure some crazy shit, huh Ash," Derek said nervously.

Davian was in trouble. He was low on ammo, and his defence turrets were the same. He ran over to his bench, and brushed past his testtube holder, on the way for more ammo. His test tubes fell to the ground, mixing. "Aw, hell." he breathed to himself. He picked up a tainted tube, but dropped it on the table. It hit an apple, shredding it of it's genetic structure. "YES!!! I'VE DOME IT!! AHAHAHA!" he picked up the spilled tube again, rushing to a machine. All he had to do now was make a few energy receptors for his weapon. That would take a few minutes. After a tense minute or so of waiting, the elevator finally came back up. The team gripped their weapons nervously, but were relieved to see Sam standing behind the opening doors.

"It seems clear enough below, come on," he told them.

It was a tight squeeze but the rest of the team managed to cram themselves into the elevator. As they began their descent the team quizzed Sam about what he'd seen below, though he revealed little other than the fact he'd seen a set of train tracks.

Moments later, the elevator doors pinged open revealing the nervously waiting Ash and Derek.

The team quickly moved out and formed into a defensive position. A little unsure of himself amongst these professionals, Raymond was the last out of the elevator and cautiously moved up just behind them. The team looked competent enough, so Raymond decided it would probably best if he stayed at the back of the group and kept out of peoples way for now.

All is well, there are 11 people in all (that is with Raymond and Garreth). Even if 9 people couldn't fit in the elevator it would just be two trips, no big difference. I figure we might as well have Garreth with us. Just have him stick with Raymond and you can take minimal control of him until Tamachi comes back.

A little unsure of himself amongst these professionals, Raymond was the last out of the elevator and cautiously moved up just behind them. The team looked competent enough, so Raymond decided it would probably best if he stayed at the back of the group and kept out of peoples way for now.

"Alright people listen up," Ash began, "Derek, Sam, Andrew, Jack, you three are with me. We're going to open those doors across from us one by one and make sure it's clear. From their we'll choose a path to go down. Everyone else stay on this platform and the stairs, if something comes out I want cover for the retreat back up."

The officers Ash had selected moved down the stairs with him and approched the first door. They formed an arc where the door would open. Ash took the door handle in his hand and looked back to make sure everyone was ready. He opened turned the knob and pushed inwards while stepping back. He rose his gun and joined the arc the others had formed. The door opened into a short hallway that led to another door at the end.

Ash and the group did this for the other four doors and found two more hallways another open room, and one with stairs that led upward. Ash guessed the stairs led to the control room of the train because he could see windows on the side of the wall several feet above.

"Okay, let's check out where these stairs lead first," Ash commanded. The five officers went up the stairs guns at the ready. At the top was another door with a small rectangular window. Ash looked through the window and saw what did appear to be a control center. He tried opening it but the door was locked.

He order everyone back several feet then Derek blew the lock area with his shotgun. The officers below grew nervous until Ash came in on the radio, "Just unlocking a door, no danger as of yet." Derek entered the room followed by Ash and the others. They looked around the room but but found nothing telling them about the accident.

Jack scanned over the computer pannel and turned to Ash, "It looks like this is a map of where the rail way leads," he said pointing to a screen that was lit up.

"Where are all the trains?" Andrew asked peering between Ash and Jack.

"More importantly, where do the trains lead?" Ash said starring at the map screen.

Sergeant Casey and his team had just finished gathering together and were standing in the parking lot going over their final checklist. The team consisted of eight men, two squad cars with two people each and two vans with two people. The gate was opened and the men drove out heading next door. When they drove around to the front they could see a large number of zombies crowded around the area.

"Pull it back boys, we're gonna need to find another way in," Casey called over the radio.

The team drove back and stopped when they saw a low window. Casey got out and pulled out his side arm and fired several shots shattering the window. He unloaded his clip and locked in another one. Four other men got out of the cars and headed inside leaving the drivers behind. Casey wasn't one to play it cautious but he was an excellent shot and a smart man.

"The fire was this way," Casey said. The group ran through the building shooting down zombies as they went. Casey called out asking if anyone was there as the group continued to fight off the zombies already on to their next ammo clips.

The nearest zombie turned to base elements withing milliseconds, the energy pulse shredding ten of the zombies behind the first. The team outside must have heard him, because the cataclysmic bang that shot out of the nullifyer.

Sorry, my buddies went out to the all you can eat place a couple blocks away. That was before this, um, whatever happened. According to my scientific calculations, they have been infected by some sort of mind-altering substance. It could be all over the city by now. If only I had a pure, untainted sample. But enough about me, what are you guys up to? I'll be glad to help. I've got 25 energy recepters, each with 50 shots. When a receptor runs outa ammo, it overheats, then goes critical. When that happens, get the hell away from the recepter. It blows leaving a radius of 10 feet wiped clean. But more on that later. We better get moving. Even my genetic nullifyer cant hold up against THAT! He pointed at a massive hoard of zombies, over ten thousand strong that was walking toward them 10 blocks away (the street was a long one).
Oh, bytheway, the names Davian. I'm a scientist, but not one of those pansy scientists in the movies. He worked out every spare minute of his day. He had trained himself not to need as much sleep, so he worked out about 5 hours a day.

Not long after they'd gone, they heared the muffled blast of a shotgun. Ash's voice quickly came over the radio to calm their nerves as he announced that they had just breached a locked door.

Staring down at the rail track as he waited, Raymond pondered about the possibility that this may not be the only way into the laboratory. He wondered if this track could also lead to other Umbrella owned buildings within the city...or even outside of the city...

Maybe it didn't matter.

What did matter was the fact that both were hungry. She could see it in their faces. She sighed. They did nothing to deserve starving to death. Shaking her head again, she turned back to face Lucas.

OOC: The energy receptors are like ammo clips. When they run out, they turn into grenades. Noone else can use them, as there is only one nullifyer. As for the nullifyer, the weapon basically shoots a pulse of energy the size of a bullet, that is fed through a subnuclear mesh in the receptors. The energy then can ambiently breack apart the genetic composition. Picture a strand of DNA. Then cut all the wires connecting the balls. And sorry about the quotation marks. I was really tired last night.

Two in the sternum and, before she even hit the ground, a fatal shot to the head. With the gun still smoking and not a blink from the crowd, he pivited and shot the officer twice in the head. Rufus scanned around and pulled out his notepad. He began taking down notes on who had been scratched or bitten before Lucas had shot her. He didn't want to be standing next to the person when they turned.

"The area is secure, but i need 5 men to help lif....Oh, now I remember, I've already got it. Silly me. Carry on." Davian looked sheepishly at the man. He looked really angry, with his jugular vein popping out.......

Casey sighed, "Alright let's move...and we aren't stopping again." The cars left the lab and drove back to the safe house were they would be welcomed with the new problem of infection among a handful of survivors.

"You need to go up a level and check in. Come to my office, J2 on the second floor. We'll talk to The Chief about your little toy there," Casey said to Davian.

"Hey Ash, take a look at this," Derek said unfolding a large piece of paper.

Ash walked over and looked at it for a moment, "A map, well that's nice..." Jack finished his scannign of the computer and began typing on keys. He found a main menu where he tried to open up information on the lab but it was classified. He tried the train and it worked.

"Well, what have we here?" He said with a smile.

The other three cops stood behind him watching the screen. After several moments of cursing and guess and check Jack found his way to a screen that gave options to call back trains without drivers. "Remote control..."

"This train could be a way out. Move the trains however you need to, just get one to us. Derek let's go back downstairs and take a look at this map. Sam, stay here with Jack."

Ash and Derek went back downstairs where they unfolded the map, "Alright, standard set up, lab, storage, test rooms; just like the movies..."

"What was that?" whispered one of the officers, as a faint scratching sound caught his attention from down by the rail track. The officer signalled for the rest of the team to cover him while he cautiously moved forward towards the edge of the platform.

Near the back of the group, Raymond shot Garreth a nervous glance as the officer reached the platforms edge and aimed his shotgun down towards the track...

Davian looked through Casey. When he was deep in thaught, he always loses eye focus. "So, You're saying you've got a legitimate government system in this chaos? Then maybe you could find a way to aquisition me these material." He handed Casey a list of basic materials, mostly the type of produce you find from a Supermart. It had aluminium concentrate, 10 fire alarms, and many other things. But the hardest thing to get was at the bottom of the page, Pure Alcatthium Phospherous. The only supply of the stuff was right in warren city, in the quarry at the edge of town. It was a highly mutagenic substance, and tended to do peculiar things to genetic algorithms. Noone had made a system to grade the stuff, most people didn't even know what it does. But it was the main ingredient in his weapon. He had some with him, but not enough to make a full nullifyer...

OOC: What do you guys think of my design?

Casey smirked and handed the list back, "Far from it. I'll see you again soon." Casey walked off with the others to return the gear they had taken.

"Umm.... Ok." Davian quietly stepped into the room.

"Err... Proffessor Davian reporting for duty. Has anyone told you about me?"
