My plan for this RPG is to have the same idea as final fantasy 7. I want a similar storyline. That whole deal.

sorry about that, i dont exactly understand the oor/recr. Is that where you make up characters or what?

hello??

... did you actually read the other threads as I've suggested? And as Kalia has said before, it's not as if everyone's online 24 hours of the time, so if you've started a thread, be patient, wait for half a day to a whole day to see whether anyone's replying or not.

If you want to start a thread, you could try something like this in your first post... (everything's in bold)

It's a warm and sunny day in Midgar, which is a perfect weather, considering the fact that it's been two years since Sephiroth has been killed by the heroic Cloud Strife and his band of courageous companions.

However, the thief, Richard Cranium, isn't exactly in a good mood since he's been having crazy dreams of Sephiroth coming back to life.

"Damn, if he's back, how am I going to save the world????" He wonders as he walks into a bar.

=================

Somewhere deep in the Promised Land, Sephiroth laughs maniacally.

"What fools! I've come back to life!!!"

Then, if you're lucky, and managed to get someone's attention, there might be people trying to join your thread, and come up with a post like this to reply yours.

Oh, it's in bold again.

Miss Poosee the fortune teller sits alone at the corner of the bar, sipping wine by herself until she notices that a newcomer has entered.

"Hmm... looks like an interesting young man, pretty good-looking too. Maybe I should speak to him."

And thus, she walks over to Richard Cranium and smiles dazzingly.

"Heya, I'm Poosee."

You as Richard Cranium, will attempt to answer her or something. Buy her a drink? Flirt with her? Slap her? Headbutt her? Cry in front of her for no apparent reason? It's all up to you.

... actually, I don't really think I can go on with this, but as long as you actually DID read the many other Role-playing threads as I've suggested, you might get an idea what to do when you start a thread. This forum is about Role-playing, yes, but not in the Final Fantasy sense, but more like a Dungeons and Dragons sense. If you want to bring Final Fantasy into this, well, you can, but the method is more or less like the example I gave you.

Freeform forum role-playing is kinda like you working on a massive story with a group of other people.

As for the OOC section, it's for people to post up information about their own characters. Yes. Or speak in a Out Of Character manner.

If you have an announcement, or interesting note to make about the RP thread you've just started. Use that. Here's an example of what you can do with the OOC thread. In bold.

Guys, this is my RP thread, and it takes place in the FF7 world. Two years after the events in FF7. Basically, I want to form a band of heroes to fight Sephiroth, who came back to life. Yeah. So post information about your characters here.

Thanks eswit, ill give it a try.

It was a dark and drowsy evining in the very large city called Tibbetelle, a young child, Blade Werse, was born. The docter knew, but did not tell the parent, that this child was no ordinary child. In fact it had an abnormal mark on the baby's forearm. That mark was the mark of immortality. It is said that this mark causes the child who bears it to become supernaturally evil. Only this time, legend would be proved wrong.

OOC: That's not too bad. But you want to give your first post a bit more information. It's hard for others to join in with this because they can't be sure when the storyline is taking place. Is it just after the baby's birth, or several years later. For now, I will assume that the storyline begins after the baby's birth.

BIC:

"Doctor!" Corwyn called out as he stormed into the Tibbetelle hospital and spotted the man he sought. Outside, the first drops of rain began to fall, and the rumble of distant thunder signalled the advent of a thunderstorm.

"I have come for the child." he said. "It must be dealt with now."

OOC: Yeap, just call me Swifty. And ditto with Alanded's advice. As you may notice, both Alanded and I do not have the habit of using the OOC/Rec section, that's why our OOC (out-of-character) comments are actually posted here as well, along with our IC (in-character) posts. To give you an easier idea. Here's how you should label OOC and IC in your previous post.

Now, get what I mean? For the time being, I shall assume a NPC role of a nurse. NPC, as you know, are just minor characters, the townspeople-type you see in towns in RPG. Most of the time, you, as the thread starter, should be the one playing NPCs, but I'll just give you a hand.

IC:

"Why? What for?" A nurse came over and demanded. "The baby has yet to meet his mother!"

"You know very well why." Corwyn said. "He has the cursed mark. He must be destroyed before he destroys us!"

"But he is a mere child, and though he has the cursed mark, if he's nurtured and raised correctly, he will do more good than harm! He is destined for special things!" The nurse said. "I will NOT allow anyone to harm this baby."

Corwyn sighed. "It seems that you don't understand." He lifted his right hand, the blued metal of the revolver gleaming under the light of the flourescents.

"Doctor, I suggest you tell me where the baby is, before the nurse here gets a bullet in the head."

The nurse gasped in horror and stared, wide-eyed, at the doctor, waiting for his reply. Tears welled up in her eyes when she knew that this man could pretty much carry out his thread.

OOC:

Okay, so, stuper, I assume you are the one controlling the doctor. As the doctor, how are YOU going to reply? What are YOU going to do? It's all up to you.

Corwyn sighed and said, "No longer will i deal with this nonsense, something must be done." He lowered his gun and the nurse let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you Corwyn, i new you would understand," said the nurse. Just after she said that Corwyn raised the gun up to his head and said "fine have it your way," and shot hisself. The nurse and the mother of the newborn gasped. Unfortunatly that would be the last time she did anything. Right then, the mother went into shock and died.

OOC:

Er, Stuper, you can't control Alanded's character (Corwyn) and mine (the nurse). That's a lesser form of powergaming, which is a bad thing.

You're supposed to be replying as the doctor, the mother, or the baby. And then see how me, as the nurse, or how Alanded, as Corwyn, will react. To make things simpler, you, being the thread starter, are allowed to control all characters EXCEPT the ones taken by the players here (those players are Alanded and I).

OOC:Yeah, but since you and I are the ONLY ones here and that bloke is gone, its kinda pointless for us to stay right? I would normallytry to resolve the thread, but there isn't much point for this, since its hardly even begun.

IC:

Screaming hysterically even though Corwyn was already gone, the nurse ran out of the place and was never to be seen again.
