I've been posting on here for quite a while and the term "powergamer" and "powergaming" as came up. I was wondering what is that?

"Haiyah!" Eliar let loose a fireball.

The world exploded.

"That's powergaming, baby." Eliar said.

Swifty, to copy the words of chung: If you cannot give a reasonable answer to a serious question, then do not reply on it. A little more elaborate is in order here.

In essence, a powergamer is someone playing overly powerful characters, that either cannot be defeated or performing impossible acts to stay alive. (read, win the arguement) You can compare it to the "god-mode" in games such as Diablo and Doom.

It is our opinion that characters with such impossible stats are taking away the fun of the others involved.

Jesus, Caelin, I WAS answering his question. Do I have to make myself totally serious and give multiple-paragraph answers to this question?

I provided an example. What did you think I was doing? Acting crazy? Having a seizure?

What I did in my previous post was powergaming, a guy being insane enough and powerful enough to destroy an entire world with a single spell. And even though the world has exploded, he's still standing. THAT is powergaming. If morrowind was dissatisfied with my reply, I wouldn't mind elaborating more.

Caelin, an explanation by example is just as valid as a three paragraph essay. If morrowind still felt unclear on the issue, he could certainly ask for further elaboration HIMSELF. There's no need to jump in and start snapping at people (though this is only an assumption on my part, based on how you worded your reply) just because they happen to act differently from you.

Remember, different doesn't equal bad. Variety is the spice of life, baby. ;)

Everyone has their POV, people... What swifty did was acceptable, even if in ;) bad taste. (J/K) anyway, as this has now gone off topic, I'm locking this, we don't need bickering sessions in the rp forum....

play nicely people ;)
