What I have found in my RP'ing experience (up 'til now) is that the participants create their own story, from (nearly) nothing. Yet, when I joined this site and began to read some of the RP's to post, I found many to be based on videogames, television shows, etc.
This makes me question what the real defenition of RP'ing is.
Can I just post a new thread? Go off on a wild tangent from everything else here?
...or do I have to be a D&D player, and know all the terminology? Stick to certain characters?
I would like very much just to have fun with other people, making up a story of our own. But, if this is uncouth on this site, then I'll try somewhere else. (I prefer original ideas and scenarios)

If you want to create original ideas, do it at the General RP forum.

Good to know I can go original.
