Standing in a wide open field is Nobydod. His Steel long sword in hand looking out into the field. There is a huge legion of orcs and other beings marching his way. He only hopes help will come soon.

"Someone has to be near by." he says to himself.

Fitch looked out at the legion of orcs marching toward the being out alone in the field. He looks around from atop of the oak tree and sees no one else.

"I better go help him," he mutters.

Fitch leaps out of the tree and races toward the lone figure.

[Finally] Nobydod spoke. [hoy! You!] he said to Fitch. [I'll take the left, you follow up on the right.] Nobydod charged to the right, sword in hand. [this'll be easy.] Fitch spoke too soon. There where not only orcs, but Mordor trolls too. And if that werent enough, A balrog of Morgoth.

Amidst the chaos and confusion, a dark, hooded figure glanced over the battlefield from atop the the cliff.

"Hmm... Things could get ugly."

He gripped the hilt of his largest scimitar, whilst unsheathing his second. He unlaced the single stitch in his cloak, leaving a sudden gust of wind to carry it far off into the mountains. He took a deep breath, and launched himself down the face of the cliff. He landed, feet first, on top of an orcish scout.

"This should make for some good entertainment..." With that, he ran towards the oncoming hordes, to meet with the troubled travellers, and share their burden.

His pale grey skin seemed to glint in the moonlight, as the battle raged on. The Drow lived to fight, and Raeken was no exception. Swords in hand, he mercilessly cut his way through the disorganised ranks of orc.

He stopped. He peered back over his shoulder. He had been encircled. There was no way out.

The gruesome boil faced goblins hissed and cackled at their prey, attempting to intimidate him, before finally cutting him open.

Raeken stood still. He relaxed his muscles and shouldered his blades. He grinned, and crouched, head down, onto the floor.

“All good times must come to an end… Ha ha ha! It has been memorable!”

The savage cannibals which surrounded him grew impatient. One lunged at him, but he was ready, unlike the orc, who found himself impaled on a strip of cold hard steel. With a vicious grunt, it slumped to the floor, clutching its chest, and breathing deeply.

Raeken removed the scimitar from its stomach, and wiped it clean on his robe.

“Filthy orcs! When will you learn?” He returned to his position, crouched with a clear state of mind.

The angry horde continued to grunt and hiss, as they closed in on their target…

Fitch stopped suddenly, dropped to a crouch, pulled out the two swords and the staff, and dropped the pack on the ground.

He muttered a few words and a clear white dome extended from the pack to five feet around it.

"If you get hurt, or need to fix your weapons, go to my pack. No creature with a hint of evil will go in the dome. You'll be safe when your in the dome." He shouted to his companions.

He strapped the staff to his back and speed into battle, pulling the swords from their sheaths at the same time.

A orc swung his blade at Fitch's chest. "Death to orcs!" He shouted. As he blocked it with one sword and cut off the orc's arm with the other.

"Your timing couldn’t have been much better traveller!" Raeken hollered from somewhere within the horde.

He was wrong. Had the stranger been sooner, the serrated and rusty sword of a single orc may have been prevented from plunging into the back of the unsuspecting Drow elf.

"Argh!" His scream ripped through the hilltops, stunning the nearby foes.

His eyes turned bloodshot, and his face stretched. He was still gripping the steel shaft in his back, as the orcish group began to back away. An intense purple light engulfed him, and seemed to tear his flesh apart.

He was gone.

The sun glared upon the death and chaos below. A shadow blocked out the sun for a breif second then there was a booming howl as a snow white wolf landed into the orcs.

Athos had been tracking the orc hordes for days. As he pondered how destiny led him to these brave adventuers.

[It's time I had some fun too], he thought as he landed on an Ogre ripping his tendons out of the foul beasts neck.

"I come to lend you aid to kill our common enemy", he mind-spoke so the adventurer who was trying to kill the orcs with a stick.

As his jaws gripped into the hip of a weak goblin, tossing him at the other orcs to clear the path to the center of the horde.

Nat watched the fray from a distance. A segment of itself was currently coiled around a pillar at the Temple of the Sword, watching a duel between the elven guardian and his deadly opponent.

Another fragment was wandering the megastructure. A third was simply waiting at Thread Ender HQ.

It was bored.

In the next moment, it was rolling towards the battle, coiled in a deadly ring, spiked carapace tearing out great clods of earth.

It smashed into the orcish horde, sending some flying, crushing othes into the ground.

Uncoiling itself, it immediately began to lay into the orcs around him. Since it was not here on official business, it could only use physical attacks.

The two bottommost arms with their human-like hands it tucked close to it's body to protect. Instead, Nat lashed out with the foot-long claws of it's upper limbs.

Those deadly weapons moved back and forth with deceptive ease, striking with surgical precision. The claws went through armor like butter, parting flesh and bone like air. A single flick decapitated an orc, the still grinning head lifting through the air, a geyser of blood dying those nearby in gorish red. Several quick strokes filleted another, bones neatly picked out and piled beside the steaming guts of the eviscerated corpse.

A notched battleaxe thunks harmlessly into tough carapace, while a trio of crossbow bolts skid screeching of the rounded black surface to embed themselves in orc flesh. Nat does not notice them.

It did however, notice the mounted orc riders that charged straight into it.

Five crude lances shattered as they struck its armoured back, but the sixth found the flesh of its underbelly, gouging a deep wound before snapping off.

Nat wrought swift retribution, a series of lightnng fast blows carving the orc cavalry and their mounts into steaming chunks. But now it could no longer move freely, the ragged end of the spear was positioned to drag across the ground when it slithered, and it was lodged, Nat knew, in a major artery. Pulling it out now would cause death from bloodloss.

The other orcs, now knowing its weakness, were gesturing for spears. As the nearest one lifted its arm back to throw, Nat flicked out its prehensile tongue and wrapped it around his neck. WIth a quick controlled movement of its muscles, Nat snapped back the tongue, dragging the orc right between its waiting jaws.

A single chomp took the orc's head off, after which Nat gripped the corpse with its bottommost hands, using it as a shield as volley after volley of spears and arrows came its way.

Hoping that this apocolyptic demon was on our side rather than tearing through the hordes to get to us Athos speed past the hordes to reach the man in the center fending of orcs with a stick.

Athos let out another ravenous howl that gurgle throught the blood that streamed out of the orcs arm socket. This was it the battle he had seen in his dreams, the turning point for his life. He would stand here and bring the news to his people that the orcs have been stopped before they reach the orthern lands of his kins men.

Another two orcs, "I guess it time to take care of that Baramoth thingy with the fiery breath" he thought as he turned into a charging ogre. Smashing it skull with his own he growl in his wolfen tongue, "I guess my mom was right I always did have the harder head in our pack."

Nat was getting tired. The orc's body was large and heavy, and holding it up made Nat's arms ache. The impressive array of spears, crossbow bolts, arrows and axes embedded in the corpse didn't help make matters any easier.

And the orcs were getting smarter too, backing away as he tried to close with them. In his current state most easily outpaced him, though occasionally one or two would get carried away and linger for one last shot. After which Nat would pick them too pieces to vent its frustration.

It was a good thing, it thought, that orcs were terrible marksmen.

Athos soon realized that the demon and the man who had been fighting with the stick, could handle themselves...for awhile.

Taking off another orc limb spraying blood into the crowd of goblins shooting volley after volley of deadly arrows. Through the roars of anger that the mosters bellowed in anguish as their breathern have been slaughtered helplessly.

A cry for help, "Well i only live once", he thought as he launch himself in the air towards the valiant soldier who had left a valley of death in his path.

Landing on two goblin archers who had clearly tried to fire another volley at the beast. Steping to the side of the soldier he transformed back to his human image and drawed his sword from the shealth on hiis back and replied sarcastically,"You called?"

Fitch swung around one last time with the stick before throwing it aside and running toward his pack. He pulled out his bow and quiver, strapped them to his back, started running toward Nat and firing off arrows into the orcs surrounding Nat.

The sudden attack from behind confused the orcs. Their simple strategy of retreating and launching projectiles at Nat was thrown into complete disarray when arrow after arrow came whistling into their ranks from behind.

"Whihc way we go now?" One orc asked another, who promptly shrugged. Some scattered to the sides, but a good many just stood still in confusion as a very pissed of Nat finally caught up with them.

Tossing the pin-cushioned orc corpse at them, Nat gleefully waded into their midst, and soon hands, legs, arms and severed torsos went flying this way and that. Occasionally, one or two orcs managed to get beneath its guard and land in a hit or two on its soft spots, but they missed its vital organs.

The spear that was still stuck in it, however, was a problem. Nat could block the pain, but it was still a fact that a large foreign object was embedded in a vital area, and every time it moved, the spear got wrenched around, damaging even more of the surrounding tissue.

It might perhaps be time to start thinking of an exit strategy to sanctuary. It recalled seeing some such thing, a white dome of some sort...

Fitch kept on running and firing arrows into the orcs. He got to the edge of the orcs and put back his bow and got out his staff.

He started smacking orcs left and right. He cleared a pathway through the orcs to Nat.

"I don't know if you can understand me, but your hurt and you need to stand still."
Fitch said, as he was wacking away at the orcs surrounding Nat.

"This may hurt, but it will be the best thing for it." Fitch smacked the orcs one last time before dropping the staff and pulling some herbs out of his pocket.

The orcs roared with delight as they saw their opening. They rushed toward the opening.

"I hope I have the right herbs, this demon is different than anything else I've treated," Fitch thought. He pulled the spear out with one hand and put the herbs inside the opening.

Fitch then twisted around and thrust the spear out in front of him. Which the orcs promptly impaled themselves on.

"Hey if I keep this up I just might live to see tommorrow" he thought as he pressed into two goblins who were seriously planning a suicide mission with the explosives on there back. "What the hell!" Athos screamed.

" We gotta meet up with the others, or they two us but I think they got a better vantage point lets go over there."; he exlaimed as he transformed once again into his natural form.

Nat kept still as the spear was ripped out, regulating the blood flow internally as best as it could to keep loss to a minimum, allowing the herbs to be pressed into the wound.

The bottommost pair of hands clapped over the ragged hole, trying to keep it sealed, even as its internal controls slipped and blood began to well out again. The herbs exuded a strong sticky paste that served as some sort of adhesive, helping to seal the wound a little, but it was not going to be enough for a wound this deep.

In short, Nat didn't need a herbal poultice, it needed field surgery. It could slow it's heart down, reducing bloodflow, but that would put it in a near comatose state, rendering it helpless.

However, there was another way...

Nat tore the head off another charging orc, stabbing it through the chest with its other claw and then hauling it close to feast on its corpse, keeping other orcs at boy with the unoccupied claw.

At the same time, it began to exude an inky black substance from various points of its carapace, the foul liquid coating its body thickly.

After Nat had spoken, it withdrew completely into the protective covering of the cocoon.

The menbrane of the cocoon was a tough dark substance that was quite resistant to slashing weapons - up to a point. It hoped that the two-legged humanoid would be able to hold off the orcs and prevent them from doing anything too damaging.

Inside the warm darkness, it began to undergo metamorphosis, using the freshly eaten meal to fuel the change that it had planned. It's carapace slowly became transparent and gelid, then liquified. Bones too became soft and pliable, shifting into new positions. It could feel its entire form changing into something new.

It was not really a long process. Nat just hoped that it would be able to survive it.

Fitch looked back at this statement, as his hands wove a spell of fire.

"Cool," he said. "I guess I'll cook some orc for when he wakes up."

With great force Nobydod shoved his weapon through the orc and out the other side. A beam of light shot out from the other side of the orc and blasted through several other orcs, desintagrating them so all that was left was a pile of bones.

"This day, I show my true self!" Nobydod exploded with a bright flash of light, sending nearby orcs flying accross the sky and splatering accross the field. The once a soldier Nobydod was now a glowing white knight in blinding armour. "BACK TO THE BLACK ABYSS WITH YOU!" Nobydod swiped out his long, bright sword and headed back into battle. slashing through several other orcs, they fell in pieces, blood squirting on the surrounding creatures. Suddenly, a single jagged spur stabs out from inside the coccoon, its razored length tipped with deadly barbs. Another spur joins it, peeling back the black substance while a flood of reddish gore and muck oozes out.

Nat struggles a bit and then finally slips the rest of his new body free to stand beside Fitch. It had shrunk considerably, shedding most of its tail mass in favour of speed, using the excess tissue to form four new chitin-plated spurs that bore its body like the legs of a spider. The upper body too was now plated front and back, though there were still tempting gaps in the neck and shoulder joints. The arms themselves had not changed much, the topmost still a pair of deadly claw blades, but the bottommost pair grasped and manipulated two new objects.

They dimly resembled gnomish blunderbusses, except that they were fashioned from bone, muscle and sinew.

"DIE!" Nat spat as it depressed the triggers. Inside both weapons, grubs that had been growing in breeding chambers were shoved by countless small pseudopods into the firing chambers, where a single powerful muscle spasm propelled them down the barrel and out amongst the orc hordes.

An orc screamed as a grub smacked wetly straight into its face, spraying the area and every orc near it with highly-corrosive fluid.

"I would be careful." Nat said, its reduced lung capacity and size making it speak at a more normal level of sound. "The splatter area of my weapons is large, and I shall not be liable if you suffer damage from it."

The orc was fried from the shock and dropped down in a heap. "I don't even want to think of how close that was." Fitch said, as he wiped sweat from his brow.

The chevalier, riding from the North, saw the ongoing skirmish above a cliff not too far from the event. Dismounting, he examined the scene and observed many a gallant hero fighting furiously as legions of orcs feverishly attempted to conquer them. He could perceive them that they have extraordinary finesses. But he, Arthamas Quel’avid, knight of the Legions of Farngilith, could not bear the sight, for he distinguished that they need further assistance. Clad in a suit of black armor with carvings of ancient structures made especially for the soldiers of the Triple-Blade Legion, he reared his noble steed and sped to aid the potent champions.

Approaching the immense conflict, the heroes did at least caught glimpse of Arthamas, due that they could not distinguish him friend or foe. The knight’s face was also concealed by the heavy visor of a black helmet. But nevertheless, the orcish commander did not miss him. Knowing that this advancing figure would be their enemy’s support, he ordered a cohort of orcish pikemen to form a phalanx formation. “Annihilate him.” Nearing the wall of spikes, Arthamas drew forth a long lance, and dived within the enemy ranks, smashing the macabre adversaries into a panicked state. Dropping the lance, the cavalier drew forth a runic longsword from its sheath and began to fend of the rushing orcish swordsmen.

The knight?s face was also concealed by the heavy visor of a black helmet. But nevertheless, the orcs did not miss him. Knowing that this advancing figure would be their enemy?s support, a cohort of orcish spearmen formed a phalanx formation. Leaping, the great Legionnaire drew a long, runic sword and smashed through the ranks, breaking the fencing pattern of the adversaries.

Nat felt the sudden shift in the orcish formation, and it soon discerned the reason. Across one edge of the battlefield raged a tall armoured figure, with a rune sword such as it had not seen in many, many moons.

"Ho there, man-friend!" Nat greeted as it stabbed two of the foul orcs with its left claw blade while parrying an axe swing from a third with its right claw balde. "Let us put an end to this cursed horde!!!"

The orcs were reassembling

As an answer, Arthamas raised his sword as salutation to the one named Nat. The chevalier has slain about 6 of the vile creatures. Yet, he could convey that there were hundreds and hundreds of more.

“Fythomlux, guide thy sword that I may slay many a foul orc for the sake of the gallant ones and thy Legion of Farngilith.” 2 orcs attempted to dismount him, however ended up being bashed in the skulls.

Arthamas could see nearby the dome which they use as protection. He also noticed that some of them were already wounded. This time 5 orcs attempted to dismount him, beating the great steed with throwing knives and bullets.

His black horse stirred violently in pain due to the painful cuts, quaking its rider severely that he lost concentration.

But nevertheless Nat came to the rescue and viciously tore the enemy dismounters.

“Many thanks, friend, but see, there are still many” said Arthamas, “My steed can still manage, nevertheless we must continue. Look! The enemy!”. More orcs stampeded at them.

Seth eviscerated a nerby orc with his bare hands. He turned and removed two orcish heads with one swing of his massive sword.

"I WILL KILL YOU ALL!"

He jumped into the air, halfing an orc on his ascent, and landed on another orc sword first, skewering it and sliding to the ground.

?Many thanks, friend, but see, there are still many? said Arthamas, ?My steed can still manage, nevertheless we must continue. Look! The enemy!?. More orcs stampeded at them.

Nat nodded its armoured head. "How could I possibly miss them?" It said. "Look out for the cavalry!"

Even as it spoke it could hear the thunder of warboar hooves as the lead elements of the orc cavalry charged from the flanks, lances levelled to spit them like lambs for a roast.

Nat gathered the toxins in its glands and spat it out in a fine corrosive mist which the wind (thankfully) blew away from them into the midst of the charging horde. Instantly the front rank fell into disarray, the mounts rearing in agony, spilling their riders to the ground, who were in turn trampled to death by those pressing in from behind.

"I count at least twenty down! Now steady your sword, Sir Knight! For they come on!!!" Nat said, bracing itself to meet the charge.."

It seemed that Arthamas would encounter a difficult one. His steed was extremely weary from its wounds. It would only be a matter of time it would tremble and fall. But the courage of his kind is unbreakable. He dared challenge the wave of orcish cavalry.

“Ha ha! Come! Be slain foul orcs! Meet your very doom!” he cried.

Suddenly, an orcish marksman fired an arrow, which accurately punctured the neck of his shaken horse. Arthamas had no choice but to set foot on the ground, for the steed had died. “Filthy beasts!” he cursed. Grasping the runesword with both hands, he prepared for the mighty clash.

When they were nearing, the horrid orcs had broken into a loose formation. A bad move for the vile creatures and the two fighters had a good advantage. One had reached Arthamas, and the knight swirftly dodged to the right, avoiding the pointed lance and its charge. Swinging his blade he stabbed the mount first, leaving its rider falling. Lying on its back, Arthamas chopped the orc into two. It cried out in pain as orc blood massively spilled the earth.

“Where are the others?” he cried out to his companion, who busied himself fighting the mounted orcs. Arthamas saw that ten more were coming at him.

Fitch was startled by the new arrivals, but quickly recovered and raced over to the downed horse. "Friend knight, I will restore your horse, just make sure to stay alive." Fitch shouted over the roar of orcs.

He wove a web of powerful balefire that shot out from his hands and struck the orcish marksmen, simply erasing him from time.

The horse opened its eyes and slowly got to its feet. Fitch healed the wounds on the horse and fed it some herbs from his pocket. He then wove a sword of fire, and jumped into the middle of the charging orcs, slashing one orc after another. "Will this orc horde ever stop?" he thought tiredly.

Nat gathered Its legs and leapt into the midst of the fray after the Chevalier, landing on top of a mounted orc, crushing the dirty green-skin and wounding the massive beast as Nat's four legs dug their jagged tips into the creature's flesh.

By prodding the warboar, Nat got his new mount headed in a direction roughly headed to reinforce the knight. It passed by two more orc riders, his claw blades coming up to block spear thrusts from both and then snapping back down to break both shoddy weapons in two.

The two orcs promptly drew their swords, wheeling their mounts around for another charge, while another swept in at Nat from behind, swinging a massive double-bladed axe...

OOC:

I based most of his characteristics off the tyrannids for warhammer 40k, with a touch of daemon influence thrown in. If you don't know about 40k, tyrannid are basically a viral infection that evolved over time into something that absorbs the bio-ecologies of entire worlds to continue their evolution. If you have ever played Starcraft, then you'd probably think of them as a sort of super zerg race.

Of course, tyrannids are under the control of the hive mind, so Nat differs from them in a major way in that sense. But most of the other traits I use for Nat, like its weapons, strength, the biomorph implants that include toxic glands etc, are taken from the tyrannid source book. I have yet to actually use any of the daemonic powers its supposed to have because its already a bit too powerful, so I might just use it as a simple tyrannid variant instead.

Seth swung the orc into his neighbor's spear before impaling that neighbor with a short sword Seth had found on the ground. He turned and dove between an orc's legs, pushing himself up at the last moment so that his sword went up through the orc's body.

Nat saw the ring of orcs around it and realised that it was in trapped. It had gotten somewhat separated from the others during the fight with the cavalry, and now twenty or so grim faced orcs ringed it tightly, waiting for it to make its move.

Well... Nat was up to the challenge.

Going from a full stop to a charge, Nat was upon them in an eyeblink. One orc brought a wooden buckler up to block, and Nat cut right through it with a single swipe of its left claw blade, then followed through with a quick thrust with the right claw that punched through the poorly cured leather helm the filth wore.

Another orc came from behind, swinging a flanged mace with all its might. Nat turned to meet the attacker, pulling its claw free and shaking great gobbets of bloody flesh free in the process. From left and right, two hasty spear thrusts scored lines on its chitin armour, but failed to penetrate.

Arthamas felt perspiration over himself behind the metal protection. 10 more orc riders charged thunderously at him, laces pointed. Quickly, he seized the lance of the newly slain orc and hurled it to one of the incoming assailants, which passed directly through its skull and knocking it to ground.

To this, the nine others were greatly frightened and began to retreat.
“Ha! Running away, misshapen brutes!? Come, taste my blade!” Arthamas cried.

But then, a band of about 20 orcish crossbowmen assembled, aiming their ranged weapons directly at him. They sniggered wickedly. Grasping his blade, Arthamas raised it shoulder level and dashed rapidly to meet them.

“Ha! A fool he is! The bolts shall penetrate his armor!” yelled one of the orcs in joy.
Realizing this, they fired altogether, spraying a cloud of bolts toward the knight.

Arthamas waved the runesword diagonally downward, parrying the entire spray of bolts and breaking them into tiny pieces. The orcs were dumbfounded. “How the bloody hell did he do that?”

Reaching the assembled mob, Arthamas sliced through the ranks, slaughtering 10 orcs at once. The filthy blood splattered all over his visage. The remaining orc marksmen retreated for their demise. But still more foes were charging.

Nat shook itself to get some of the blood of its body, then regarded the battlefield. The human throwing deathly energy to its right and the chevalier to its left had carved a bloody swathe through the enemy ranks, and yet another companion had also jumped back into the fray with deadly force. There might still be hope yet.

While the orcs were still of balance with the furious counterattack, Nat took aim with both deathspitters again, firing slug after slug into the massed orcs behind, where the deadly projectiles could harmlessly kill orcs by the dozens without threatening allies.

Deadly gobbets of acid spattered left and right, and by the time the flanking orcs had managed to charge close enough that Nat had to go back to melee again, forty of the foul things lay lifeless or twitching on the churned earth.

Arthamas Quel’avid was breathing intensely. The runesword was covered entirely with hostile blood. The Tol runes glowed bright green on the fine, smooth blade. Above the grip, the eye crest seemed to throb as if alive. The sword was rather menacing to behold, for it seemed more a creature than object.

Again, it appears that the orcs were fleeing again. But orcish gladiators, armed with tridents and nets, took their turn to attack.

10 of them encircled around the horseman and threw their nets in an attempt pin him down.

No good…

Their nets only ended up being torn apart by the knight’s exalted blade.

They grumbled to their failure, but nevertheless they poised to strike him with their long tridents. Unfortunately, they were no better than the previous.

Arthamas caught one of the attacker’s trident with the other hand and broke it, then thrusting his sword, hacked its head into two. Two of the orc gladiators saw that they too would be butchered easily, so they dropped their weapons and jumped relentlessly to grapple him.

But in mid air, Arthamas slashed across their stomachs, cutting them also into two.

On his front, four of them were perfectly lined in a row that the warrior slashed across their heads in a single stroke, slicing their brains out.

The last three of them jabbed wildly in all directions, trying to keep a certain distance from him. But then again, their heads were sliced off, dropping to the ground.

Two more trolls charged to meet it, and a crossbow bolt intersected his path with them, digging deep into its lower left arm. Nat managed to keep his grip on both Deathspitters however, and as the trolls closed he fired off several slugs at each one, high-corrosive fluids burning through the trolls, eating right through their flesh.

Another crossbow bolt thunked into its carapace but failed to penetrate, while several more simply skidded off the slick surface. Then a deadly rain of them, one of them lodging in the chitin just inches from Nat's eye.

By the time the storm of corssbow bolts ended, Nat resembled a bizarre pincushion, though thankfully most of them had failed to penetrate. Unfortunately for the crossboworcs, Nat hadn't stopped charging through the hail of projectiles, and the entire group soon found themselves at the tender mercies of its twin claws which moved in broad scything strokes across their ranks, accompanied by dismembered arms, legs, heads and various other little bits of fleshy pieces. Blood sprayed everywhere, turning the ground underfoot into a sticky mess.

OOC: lets make it 780. Also, i think by now they should pretty much have no chance of attacking whoever it was they originally planned to attack in the first place. Eight huge trolls flanked it, and behind them walked a smaller orc carrying a blood red banner with a smouldering eye. "Hey Nat see if you can get the others over here. When I was overwhelmed by the goblins I saw a Ogre Demo Team. Basically walking dooms day devices.", athos growled urgently.

Nat considered its options. The orc warchief was almost right in front of it, but ogre sappers weren't something you wanted to leave running about on the battlefield unattended. If they came up while it was busy finishing a pile of orcs... well, the consequences would not be good.

It would be better to take them out now, it guessed.

"Go for the warchief!" Nat shouted to Athos, even as it moved towards where the lupine creature had last seen the sappers.

And saw its quarry almost immediately. Eight brutes with bandoliers of explosives slung around them, and a gabble of goblinkin around their feet.

They saw Nat at the same time that Nat saw them, charging towards it in a frenzy, fuses lit.

Nat cursed as he lifted the deathspitter held by his good arm. It had long since lost all feeling and control of the other one. Sighting along the path the ogres would take, it pulled the trigger in rapid bursts.

The first shot went wild, streaking off into the sky. The second slug hammered into the dirt just in front of the swarm, splashing corrosive fluid onto some of the goblin pack but hardly slowing the rest (or the ogres) down. The last one hit one of the explosive bandoliers square on, while the ogres were only feet away.

There was a booming WHUMP! as the casutic elements triggered an explosion that detonated all the explosives in an uncontrolled chain reaction.

The blast shredded all the goblins and the ogres, flinging bits of bone like deadly shrapnel that killed or wounded even more of teh orc horde. It also picked Nat up like an invisible hand, lifting it high up into the air and hurling it forty feet before slamming it down again, wrenching its good lower arm off in the process, as well as shredding its carapace armour in several places.

Nat cursed as it got to its feet almost immediately, feeling no pain. It had only its claw blades and fangs to depend on now. It had used the last of its glanded toxins earlier, and it would be hours later before they were replenished. Furthermore, with its chitinous armour torn up like this, it was more vulnerable to the swarming orc hordes than ever before.

Seth didnt give the wolf a chance to engage the chief. He turned and snapped a sneaking orc's neck then shot himself upwards. He landed next to the chief and swung his sword at the brute's neck. The orc was fast and managed to duck the swing. The orc took seth's leg out from under him and brought a club down on seth's left arm. It snapped at the forearm, just under the elbow. Suddenly seth pulsed with yellow light and the chief was thrown backwards, a shive residing in its stomach.

(OOC: 677 (676 if you want the shive to kill the orc, but I doubt that would kill a child))

OOC: 677 I guess. That orc chieftain has been blessed by his tribal shamans after all. Not likely to die that easily. :D

Nat shook itself to get the ringing out of its head, and was moving to limp back towards the orc chieftain when the orc cavalry returned for a final charge. Howling, Nat stabbed one through the heart as it passed, ducking sideways to avoid the orc's spear, then was stabbed through the rear left leg by another orc rider. This time, the crude weapon had no trouble penetrating the shattered chitin, sinking in deep and pushing out cleanly through the leg.

With a snarl, Nat lopped the offending orc's head off while it was trying to pull its spear free, then took an orc blade right through its back as an orc jumped it from behind. Nat shuddered as the orc twisted the blade savagely, rending its internal organs, then swung a vicious bakhand swipe that knocked the orc flying.

A final blow from a fourth orc with a double bladed axe opened a massive wound that sent gouts of ichor shooting everywhere. As Nat crumpled to the torn and bloodsoaked earth, it heard the axe swing again, killing blade whistling through the air, dripping ichor.

OOC: 675, one orc is probably more wounded than dead.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!" Nobydod yelled as he screeched into battle, cutting off countless orc heads, he stood to his feet to get his bearings, but then he noticed it, a long sword sticking through his back and out his chest, three arrows in his heart, and then a flying javilen flew with pervect aim and skewered into his stomach. Blood splatered to the floor, "I... have not failed... YYYYEEEEEAAAAARRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!" Nobydod screemed, and exploded in a bright flash of light sending orcs a good distance all around him flying through the air, killing and wounding most of them. Nobydod was dead.

OCC: Great, Nobydod is dead. That's what like four of us left now. Any body want to kick it up a notch? I've got a few creative kills left in me. I won't be able to post that often, I've got a lawnmowing business to run.

Seth leapt into the air, floating there for a few seconds. Suddenly he pulsed with yellow light, which spread out from him and incinerated about forty orcs in a heart beat. He dropped into the middle of the smoking hole. There was a brief still, then everyone went back to the fight. Seth gutted another orc that rushed him and snarled.

Athoses gut wrentched as he saw his companion sacrifice hime self feeling hate surge with in him Athos stared at Nat and saw what he was gawking at. Demolition Troop. One thing to do. White fire surged from Athoses body as he looked into the sky and howled so loud that the earth shook it turned black and the moon apeared with a magnificent glow that showered upon the orcs consumed in pure fire he said to himself with a wry smile ;"this is for my people orcs will know their place in the world after today." And with that he shot into the white sun that was the moon. The orcs stopped fighting and gazed into the moon. Then a ivory blast of light beamed into the spot where Athos was and spread with lighting speed. Orcs and goblins alike screamed in terror as they were burned alive. The fire touch his fellow warriors but parted as if knowing they are not the true enemy. As the sky turned blue once again the other heros realized that there was indeed still hope for this epic battle.

(OCC: hey I can't keep up with the thread so I thoiught I would go out with a blaze of glory I would say a good 300 were killed I am not sure but ya Athos sacrificed his life he is dead. thanks for the great adventure (:) )

OOC: Actually, my character is dead as well. Demolition troop + orc cavalry = 100% pwnage.

(What? I gotta kill off 300 orcs by myself? jerks.)

Seth looked around, he was alone. Time to bug out. He jumped into the air and shot to the edge of the field from there. The fortress these lot were off to was probably going to survive now, and well. Seth dispatched an orcish captain as it ran at him before turning and running from the horde.

(OOC: Aright, I guess thats over and done with)
