Our people has seen the rise and fall of great civilizations. The land was once our home, we were the rulers. Then they came. At first it wasn’t so bad, many of these two legged tribes revered us, if they feared us it was usually combined with respect.
Then the fires came, they chased us out with torches, burning heat and smoke. A selfish lot, one who didn’t care if we survived the winters or not, yet they wore the pelts of our fallen, as some sort of trophy. And even though thousands of years have passed, it still sickens me to think of it.
Our people have fled, faded into the background and left the world to humans. However humans, with their greedy and selfish natures, have nearly destroyed the planet we all called home. We have learned to mimic them, their behavior and their appearance… for some of us have not forgotten what magic we have always possessed.
A glamour. A simple enchantment that makes people see what comes easiest to their minds. It doesn’t change us, not really. But it does make a wolf look like a human to eyes who want to see a human. Some magic is funny that way.
The world is different now…split in twain between technology and magic, remnants of both still haunt this land. Humans still fight to control the world, we could fight them for it I suppose… but for now we search for a home to call our own.
Who am I?
Among the humans I am known as Kageki…which translates to the name my people call me, Shadowspririt.
What am I?
Haven’t you been listening? I am a Dire Wolf, and my people are back….

Kageki frowned, the wind was sour and strong, rustling through her fur, stinging her eyes. The lands below were full of humans, and she knew that her magic must again come to play....
To any who might spy upon her, saw a woman in her late twenties, perhaps even early thirties, with long black hair, and bright blue eyes. She wore clothing similar to those she saw below, a loose fitting white shirt, and more form fitting red pants. The Royal pack had scattered, and somewhere in this city were decendants, she could smell them on the wind.
Kageki snarled, and the human image wavered, becoming transparant, showing the wolf below. Fur nearly pristine white, the ears that twitched with each nuance of sound, her paws and even the tip of her upheld tail were black. She was the decendant of the alpha male, thus the hereditary ruler of the pack, till she chose a mate....but that wasn't even in consideration at this time...
The image solidified again, and Kageki took a long shuddering breath... forcing herself to calm down. The pack depended upon her, she was given the charge to find them all.... those who were left. She jumped down from the cliff ledge and headed for the city ahead...

Bleeding from the nose, the would-be thief stepped back. "What the hell...? I thought you were drunk!"
"I am drunk."
The thief hesitated, turned, and ran. Rufus sighed. Another night, another thief. Every night some punk would try and take his money, mistaking him as another helpless drunk, and every night Rufus would beat him to a bloody pulp.
Rufus started home, having sufficiently lubricated his brain with alcohol for the night. But something stopped him... something inexplicable. He turned to see it move down the alley. He straightened, spine tingling, neck hair standing on end. Was this the alcohol messing with him? Or was it real? He saw a giant dog - no, a wolf. A giant, black wolf. It turned to face him, it's yellow eyes peircing deep into his soul. He looked away, frightened, and shook his head.
"No. It can't be real... I know it isn't real..."
When he looked back, the wolf was gone. He was alone in the alley.
Rufus shook terribly, memories flashing through his mind. A cold sweat dripped down his face, down his back. Finally he began to breathe again.
"I'm not nearly drunk enough yet."
He headed back toward the bar.

Taiyou Tsuikyuu squinted in the sunlight as he made his way through the streets of the city, weaving in and out of the people as they passed. It was seemingly a quiet day, full of sunshine and and business, but for Taiyou Tsuikyuu, that was part of the problem. The city was full of humans, and to his senses, they stunk, giving the air a slightly sour heated smell as he sniffed the air on instinct.
Taiyou Tsuikyuu sniffed a second time, his nose catching a familiar scent. One of his kind was near, he was sure of it.
For the young male, "his kind" meant another wolf, for he wasn't what he seemed. Under this human face was a dire wolf. A large wolf of young age with red-brown fur and yellow eyes, with beige on his paws, ears and tail. He only appeared human now because of an ancient form of magic called a glamour - it made it easier to blend in with the populace after he got seperated from his pack. He had even learned to copy their clothing. Today, he wore a loose fitting royal blue shirt with black pants and black boots. A longbow and quill of arrows was on his back. To further fit in, Taiyou Tsuikyuu had taken on the job that the Humans called a Ranger, which was an easy explanation to why he travelled so much.
That scent again. It was close, getting closer, and his hazel green eyes started to search the horizon with curiousity. The wind weaved though his auburn hair as it picked up slightly, and he smiled as the scent was stronger for a moment. Somewhere near the edge of the city...
Taiyou Tsuikyuu continued making his way in that direction, his booted feet almost silent as he made his way through the busy city. Ecited, hopeful, he made his way toward the familiar scent..

Rufus awoke suddenly, crying out as he did. Rufus squinted, and grabbed his head. Hangover. He opened his blinds to find it excruciatingly bright outside, another glorious day in a string of glorious days. He quickly shut his blinds, trying to dull the light that was percing his eyes.
He had dreamt the dream again.
Ever since he was a child, he had experienced a reoccuring dream. He could never quite remember what happened. But what he did remember was always the same.
He was a child in this dream, playing near the forest where he grew up. (His mother always told him not to go near the forest, but would never say why). On this day, he was playing alone with his favorite ball. A miscalcuated kick sent the ball directly into the forest. He chased it to the forest's edge, then stopped. He saw two eyes, two very yellow eyes, staring at him through the trees. He froze, trapped in the gaze. A growl eminated from the forest, from the eyes.
He was running, running as fast as he could, but he couldn't get away. He could hear it behind him, coming closer, and closer, and... That's all he could ever remember.
He reached down to his leg, to feel his scar. He never knew what from, but he had a scar shaped like the claws of a wolf on his right calf. His mother died when he was just a little boy, and moved to the city with his uncle. He never knew his father. And he never knew why he had this scar.
He once told a psychiatrist about this dream, claiming it actually happened. The psychiatrist scoffed at him, claiming he was making it all up. "It's just a dream," he'd said. Rufus didn't know what the truth was, and probably never would.
He washed up and put on his clothed. It was a little past noon; he had a lot of time to kill. Before he left he grabbed his bottle, and holstered his revolver. He could feel it was going to be a long day.

The hunt had began. It always began in the same manner. Kor stumbled across some drunk or a junkie or a vagrant. They all tasted like flesh and filled him well. He loped along slowly behind the shambling homeless gent. He wasn't even panting or showing effort. Finnaly the man stumbled and fell and then he was Kor's. After a brief feeding freny that left the alley way splattered with blood and dismembered small body parts. The man's face floped around on the end of Kor's nose as he tossed it in the air like pizza dough. He heard a noise behind him, but didnt turn. He had nothing to fear but another dire wolf and fear itself.
03/13/2005 6:33 AM
Kageki walked through the city, the glamour of her human form unwavering. The scent of others grew stronger as she turned her head towards the wind. She first had to find a place to stay, even if it were a simple den in the barren land that surrounded the city, or even a deserted alley....
She paused, catching the scent of blood. She felt the fur bristle around her neck and along her back. The scent of human blood, there was no mistake in that. She turned away from her course, and followed the scent. It didn't take her long to find the source, and the huge black direwolf.
She didn't like humans, but she didn't care for their useless slaughter, eye for an eye was never her style. She paused in the entrance to the alley, watching Kor intently. She suddenly realized that to gather her pack, she may have to fight others, both wolf and human....
03/13/2005 10:15 AM
Kor flipped the face in the air one more time and deftly snapped it up in his jaws as it descended. With a quick smack of his chops, he swallowed the face and stood, strectching out carelessly. He then turned slowly to see another of his kind in glamoured form. With a quick chuffing noise that resembled a chuckle, he lifted his leg and tipped a kidney on the wall. This was his territory after all. With that done, he sat back on his haunches and cocked his head. His tongue lolled out, but his posture didnt fit the casual doggy pant he had adopted. He was keyed up.
(OOC: I'm not mistaken in guessing the wolves can communicate with each other am I?)
"Y'know, it's always a great idea to sniff around before you enter an alley way. I mean, no self respecting wolf marks his territory in the middle of the street, thats asking for trouble. What brings you to my humble lair?"
Kor's turf was relatively small, about a hundred square blocks in the industrial/residential district and most of it was alley way. There was always food for Kor here, despite the smell of chemicals in the air. Kor was at home.
03/13/2005 10:51 AM
Kageki frowned, the sight of what this one had done sickened her... but then, she knew that the cities would change her people, didn't she? She shook her head to clear it, and stepped forward.
"I am calling the pack, our time is returning..." She allowed the glamor to fall from his gaze, knowing it would hold should any humans approach. She stood only four inches shorter in height than Kor, but her stature signified her as a wolf of the wilds, one not 'tamed' by the cities. Her tail raised as one of a dominant nature, head lowered, ears forward.
every nuance of her stance spoke of the wild, one who lived her whole lift one day to the next, never knowing when her next meal would come or if she would even see the next moonrise.
03/13/2005 12:56 PM
Rufus walked through the streets, every once in a while taking a swig from his beer. The wind picked up, blowing his coat aside, giving a glimpse of his revolver. Most of the people in this area of the city knew exactly who he was. He was nearly a celebrity.
This part of town was known for its crime. Pubs lined the streets, and in every alleyway was a gang, ready to mug the unsuspecting. The police had long tried to clear this area, but each time they were unsucessful. Crime ruled in this city.
As Rufus neared a newspaper stand, the owner stepped out to meet him.
"Hey, Rufus. How have you been?"
"Same as always, Mac."
"Of course." Rufus, as was his norm, walked away without paying. He had a deal with the owner; as long as he got the paper every day, Rufus would keep Mac from gettin' mugged. So far Rufus had done his job.
Rufus sat down on a bench next to the stand. He was just about to open it, when an article on the front page caught his eye.
"Another Body Found: Death Toll Continues To Rise."
"What is this...?" Rufus though, eyeing the article.
"A string of brutal murders has struck the town. Authorities are dumbfounded as to the way these men have died. So far, there have been 23 deaths, all within the same hundred square blocks. It is a mystery as to who - or what - killed these men; their bodies were torn apart by what appeared to be claws. Authorities warn anyone who is out after dark to be extremely careful, as they have yet to find a single lead on this case. The strangest part is that it appears the victims were eaten alive.
Forensic agents have found what resembles wolf's fur, but genetic testing reveals it is something different. The public is urged not to panic, but to be extremely cautious, as what may be a giant wolf -"
Rufus threw down the newspaper, heart racing, breathing heavily. His entire body was coated with a thin layer of sweat.
"This can't be happening," he thought, "not again! Never again!"
He was shaking uncontrollably, and sat back down.
"Hey, are you alright?" The owner walked over to Rufus, grabbing his shoulder. Rufus took a deep breath, then exhaled, shuddering.
"I'll be alright."
"Looks like you've seen a ghost!"
Rufus stood up, patted the owner on the back, and took a swig from his beer bottle.
"So now I know what I gotta do," Rufus muttered to himself, "I have to stop them. Again."
03/13/2005 2:35 PM
Kor apraised the stiff look of the wolf. His image was cultivated to lure the unwary in. He looked like a ig puppy, until he growled. Hers was more of an agressive stance that would send prey running. Kor shook his head.
"You call your pack then, I have all I need here. Food, space, a den. City life comes with dessert and junk food."
Kor pushed his snout into the corpse's wreckage and fished out the intestines. Pizza and a mcdonalds apple pie. Delicious.
"Go do what you have to do, just leave some humans around so I can eat occasionally."
He rose and loped through a wall of steam spewing from a sewer grate. Bloody wilderners, their time had come and gone. It was time to adapt. Not take back the world.
03/13/2005 3:17 PM
Taiyou Tsuikyuu continued to follow the scent through the city, by thi time he guessed it was a female. He was still making his way toward the edge of the city, when the scent suddenly changed. He easily changed course and in a few minutes he was in a few minutes he stood in the opening of an alley.
HA pure white wolf stood alone in the alley having an agressive posture. Sniffing, Taiyou Tsuikyuu reconized hers as the scent he had been following. There had been another dire wolf here too, judging from the third scent, but it was gone now. It had gotten what it wanted, the human carnage was horrible.
He stepped quietly into the ally, not wanting to startle the female. He let his glamour own, revealing his true form of a red-brown wolf, young with beige on his paws, ears and tail. His yellow eyes were curious as he regarded the female; his posture non-agressive.
"So, it was you I was following..."
03/13/2005 5:48 PM
Kor leaned back on the park bench, reading the newly aquired newsie. He read the article on his territory and sighed. He was building a reputation. He walked by the stand he had purchased the paper from. He knew mac on a casual basis and that was it. With a kurt nod, they acknowledged each other as Kor walked by. He absently strolled down the road, scratching his chin with his left hand. He bumped into some guy and snarled at him angrily. It always paid to be agressive in this are of the city. He had an apartment just up the block and he usually managed to find the rent for it in his prey's pocket. Especially that bank manager. Kor had never had caviar before, and he never wanted it again as far as his stomach was concerned, but the money in the man's wallet had been insane.
03/13/2005 9:28 PM
Rufus was having an internal conflict; his rational side told him to ignore the problem, but his heart could feel the grave danger the city was in. His heart told him there was a wolf in town, and no matter how bad the city was before, the people would be in more danger than they could ever imagine.
More would come. More always came.
Memories came flashing back. The last time this happened he had ignored it. He had done nothing. And the consequences were terrible. The images of the mutilated bodies, the sounds of the screaming in the night kept building up in his mind.
"Somebody help me! Somebody! Please!"
He could hear their voices, every one of them. Their blood, their eyes, he could have stopped it! He could have -
"You sure you're alright?" Mac had brought a cup of coffee. "You look like you really need a day off. Don't worry, I'll be fine. Everyone knows that if they messed with me they'd have you to answer to. Go on home, get some R & R."
"Thanks Mac, you're a good friend." Rufus got up to leave, when a man bumped into him. They locked eyes. "Those eyes," Rufus thought. "Those eyes... there's something... strange about those eyes..." The man had walked away.
Rufus sighed, chugged the coffee, and started walking. To where, he didn't really care. He needed to think.
03/14/2005 5:28 AM
Kageki growled and whipped her head around to face the newcomer. Her blue eyes fixed on Taiyou Tsuikyuu. She rose her heaad further, noticing the non-threatening posture.
"Why follow me? I'm nothing more than a wild wolf trying to gather the packs..." She spoke mockingly, her pride raw from the black wolf's indifference. Immediately the glamour returned, and Kageki strode past the rust colored wolf.
It was more than just trying to gather the packs... she was following something... a pull to her soul, a mystical force that promised peace and freedom. She paused outside the alley, looking up to the sky and for the thousandth time wondered why she was being called to do this, why she so hevily relied on her instincts. She turned her icy blue gaze towards Taiyou Tsuikyuu again.
"I am Kageki, The Shadowspirit. I am calling the packs... follow if you will, or stay in this city like another Dog...I do not care."
03/14/2005 1:47 PM
Taiyou Tsuikyuu backed up a pace or two, looking apologetic. "I only followed you because I caught the scent of one of my kind. And if you are no more than a wild wolf, so am I. The glamour may make it easier to move around the cities, it doesn't mean I like living here."
His glamour went back up as he walked down the alley toward Kageki. "I am Taiyou Tsuikyuu, the Sunchaser, and I'm no dog. I've been searching for members of the packs since I got seperated."
03/15/2005 8:07 AM
Kageki lowered her gaze and turned to stare out at the city streets and the people that walked by. "Forgive my rude outburst. I did not mean to sound so petty. Our people have been scattered, they have adapted, but it's time to leave the cities to the humans. The search for our Paradise has begun."
"For centuries, we have fought humans for space to run, hunt and live... that fight ends here."
She sniffed at the air, again catching that peculair scent on the wind, one that promised paradise....
"Can you smell it?" she asked absently, the scent was clean and sweet, like moon-kissed water...
"It is that scent that I am following...." She muttered.
03/15/2005 7:44 PM
Kor reclined in his 'lair'. The shoddy run down apartment was barely big enough to sleep in, and it was strewn with shredded bones and shredded rubber chew toys. He hoped the landlord never got nosy. He didnt have to follow his scent anymore, he had gotten used to this new territory. He moved at least once a year to keep the city on its toes and away from his back trail. He rolled around on the carpet of the floor and listened to the howling wind. Only it wasnt the wind. He flipped onto his stomach and padded through the oversized pet door he had installed. The building was pet friendly, and he had driven the local dogs insane. He wandered down to the street, leaving the glamour up until he reached an alley. The howling was coming from the beta male of the pack. The rotweiler had once been a proud pet, until it had savaged it's master. Kor was almost ashamed of his ragtag pack, but it was the best their was. He snarled and got the message across. No howling. There was a startled gasp from behind him and Kor turned and snarled. The man seemed more shocked by his size then his own situation, but it became apparent as Kor advanced on him.
03/16/2005 2:07 PM
Taiyou Tsuikyuu stood at the end of the alley now beside Kageki, watching as people passed by on the streets. The male had lived among humans for a time now, learned to adapt in many ways, but had never truly felt comfortable around them. Now, not only wasn't he alone anymore, but Kageki planned to reunite the packs, to resume the search for Paradise.
"There is no need to apologize. I know why your nerves are frayed; mine have been as well." he than sniffed the air and looked at her. He too caught the scent of sweetness in the air, and told her so.
"I will come with you. You seek to reunite the packs and find paradise - such a task cannot be done alone. I will come."
03/16/2005 4:53 PM
The an ran back into the deserted street screaming about big friggin dogs. Kor and the rest of the pack were on him, but the road was too bright. Kor turned at the screeching brakes of the truck and winced. He rolled about two feet and got up shakily. He grumbled and turned to run into the alley. As he emerged on the other side his glamour came up. He had been seen by at least two or more humans a block away from his lair. Let them tell the press, most people would just laugh. But there were those that hunted his kind for a living. He was worried about them then anyone else.
03/16/2005 10:46 PM
Finally, Rufus looked up. He didn't know how long he had been walking, deep in thought. What he did know is that he was in a very dangerous place. It was getting dark, and this was the biggest gang center of the town. He could handle the everyday criminal, but they worked alone.
It took him a moment to realize that this was also the area of town were the murders had been, where the wolf would be.
"I don't even have my shotgun," he thought.
He immediately turned around, to start back to his home. He just hoped he could make it home.
03/17/2005 6:27 PM
Kor had gon back to his cruddy little hole. the bruise ran up his entire left side from shoulder to knee. This was terrible. He would have to go around at a limp untill this healed. If he didnt it would break open. He would stroll down to that kiosk which lay a few blocks away from his turf. He vaguely remebered tylenol or advil or something there. He took a light breath on the street and began following rufus inadvertantly. He smelled a lightly familliar scent but didnt recognise it.
03/19/2005 11:13 AM
Kageki's lips twisted in a faint smile and she nodded, moving back onto the street. It didn't take her long before she caught the scent of the black wolf who rebuffed her before...and began to follow.
03/20/2005 8:02 PM
Meeting Kageki's faint smile with a grin of his own, Taiyou Tsuikyuu walked beside the female, following the scent he had smelled in the alley. The scent that had lingered with the carnage of the ripped up human.
His demeanor became serious, his eyes narrowed as they followed the scent.
03/22/2005 7:52 PM
Kor stopped at the kiosk and bought a small bottle of painkiller. He tossed back about eight pills with his good arm and crunched them. The taste was disgusting. He sat down on a bench, wincing as his weight settled. It hadnt been a good day. The human that got away, the car, the packs return. It meant alot of good things were to change. Where would he hunt?
03/23/2005 11:29 AM
A rough hand grabbed Syare's shoulder and spun her round. She stared into a pair of yellow, bloodshot eyes above a nose that looked like it had recently been broken. The thief held a knife in his other hand.
"'ello, pretty one!" he leered, his breath a foul wave of beer and garlic. "Make one noise and you're dead." Syare flinched and clutched her small handbag tightly. [Fool!] she thought angrily to herself. Why had she gone through the alleyway all alone, at this time? Her mother had warned her so many times...Now she was going to die and it was all her fault. Like all the thieves and muggers in this city, she knew this one wouldn't settle for just her money...she had heard so many dreadful stories, from so many people she knew. What could she do? The guy had a knife.
[Well, if I'm going to die anyway -] she thought, [- may as well try and get this guy caught. My last great service to the world. Aah.]
Looking the thief right in the eyes, she opened her mouth wide and screamed, "Heeeelp!"
03/23/2005 5:16 PM
Rufus straightened as he heard a yelp. He couldn't quite tell from where it came, until a second, louder, more frantic yelp sounded from behind him. Not thinking, he ran toward where he heard the sound. He rounded the corner to find a thief mugging a woman.
"You bitch!" the thief screamed, throwing her into the dumpster to his right. "I'll deal with him first, then come back for you later!"
The thief lunged toward the intruder, knife gleaming. Rufus merely stepped aside, smacking the thief in the back of the head. The thief stumbled.
"You'll pay fer that you bastard!" The thief lunged again. Rufus chugged the remnants of his beer, and smashed the now-empty bottle over the head of the thief, who grunted. He began to turn around, but Rufus had unholstered his magnum, which was pressed into the back of the thief's head.
"That's enough. If you want to live, you'll leave now."
The thief hesitated, gave Rufus a nasty look, then left. Rufus sighed, and walked over to the dumpster. He opened the top, and looked in at the girl.
"You can come out now. You alright?"
03/24/2005 10:12 AM
Syare looked up at the tall man who had just rescued her. "Y-yeah. I guess so. Could you give me a hand down here?" She struggled to sit up. Her body was covered in rubbish and her hair dripped with sweat. She took Rufus' outstretched hand and clawed her way out of the dumpster, gracelessly stumbling onto the ground.
"Lord, I thought my time was up. I'm so stupid, walking around with all those murders and things going on. Did you see the size of that guy's knife? And you just ran in there and showed him who was boss! Weren't you scared or-"
Realising she was babbling, Syare blushed deeply, then straightened up and stretched out her hand formally. "Thankyou so much. I'm Syare, what's your name?"

He ignored her hand. "The name's Rufus. Yes, you are stupid." He turned around to leave, then hesitated, and turned his head back. "You comin'? We best get out of here fast." When he turned back around, the thief had returned. With friends. Shit...
There were 5 of them. The one in the middle was obviously the boss; he was the biggest, meanest, toughest looking one of the bunch. And he had a tommygun. He walked forward slowly.
"Well well well, looks like we got ourselves a regular ol' hero, eh?" He laughed, as did his gang. "The hero's got nerve," he scoffed, "steppin' in on my territory, and takin my girl. Well, I don't like heros..." He turned the safety off on his tommygun.
This is not good, Rufus thought as he fingered his Magnum, not good at all

04/03/2005 9:54 PM
Kor looked into the alley and froze. He shook his head and walked up behind the thieves. With a growl he dropped his glamour and jumped on the thief with the hot tommygun. He calmly ripped his throat out and turned on the next one, snarling loudly.
Kor leapt, landing on the man's chest and ripping his intestines out. He dug his head into the hole and chewed an essential organ into shreds.
04/05/2005 7:33 PM
Rufus didn't hesitate; he immediately shot one of the assailants in the knee, then another in the upper thigh. All the while he was thinking a wolf just came to my rescue... a WOLF! The two remaining thiefs tried to run, but the combined speed of the wolf and Rufus's reflexes eliminated any chance of their escape.
But a wolf! A wolf just came to help me?
04/05/2005 10:01 PM
Kor turned from the last corpse ( which had been eviscerated) and growled, but the sound held little menace. He trotted past the girl, brushing against her hand as he went, and turned at the corner of the alley. He howled for dramatic effect (because let's face it, what looks more chilling then a howling wolf) and ran out of sight. He shifted to glamour just as he hit the street. Nobody saw him and he melted effortlessly into the crowd.
04/07/2005 8:29 PM
His gun still smoking, all chambers empty, Rufus could barely move. His heart was racing. An ice-cold runnel of sweat ran down his neck. He was stunned. A wolf had just come to his aid. A wolf! The very creature Rufus had sworn to kill. His brain could hardly take the strain this conflict put on him. Suddenly he snapped back to the now. He could worry about the wolf later. Right now, he had to get out of here, and fast. He didn't want to go to jail. Again.
04/07/2005 8:38 PM
Kor was in a mental fog. Why had he done that? This wasn't his territory. And what was one more human, one less meal? Not in this city. He was more confused then the humans undoubtably were. Why did he help those two? He was going insane or something. He looked at his glamour's watch and decided he should go home and sleep on it.
04/27/2005 8:54 AM
Kageki followed the scent of blood and gunsmoke. She came across the bloody scene, and just managed to duck around the corner before the local authorities had spotted her. The scent of both wolf and gun powder was thick in her nose, and she followed...
04/27/2005 2:49 PM
Staying close to Kageki as they continued to follow the scents in the air, Taiyou Tsuikyuu's nose wrinkled at the sight of the gore. He didn't have to sniff to smell the gunsmoke. It almost made the male wolf sneeze as he ducked around the corner swiftly with Kageki, but he stifled it as he continued to follow...
04/27/2005 9:33 PM
Rufus only snapped out of his daze when he began to hear the sirens of police. He grabbed the girl, and dissapeared into the street, away from the bodies. He passed a woman as he dashed from the alley, catching a glimpse of her deep blue eyes, and long, black hair, followed by a man. He regarded them off as unimportant as he ran off, afraid the authorities would find him.

Kageki watched the man run off, the scent of gunpowder strongest as he passed her by. Hestating only a second, she followed him... the scent of his fear, and his shock was thick in her nose...

His eyes watching the man as he passed, Taiyou Tsuikyuu turned to Kageki to say that they might follow him to learn more, but found the female had already had the same idea. After all, the young male reminded himself ruefully, She IS pack leader...
The man with the gun got out of sight for a moment, but his scent was easily followed. Curious as a pup to find out what was going on, he jogged on beside his female companion.

OOC: I don't quite know what's up with klip_klop_391, so I'll go ahead and continue for now. I don't want to write too much.
Rufus, still dragging the girl, made his way toward his house. He pushed people out of the way, ignoring every complaint and insult flung his way. He even ignored the incessant nagging from the girl he saved.
When he was nearing his house, he felt he was being followed. He didn't know by who, but someone was following them. He just knew it. He began taking many alternate routes, trying to confuse the followers. When he believed he had sufficiently thwarted pursuers, he finally entered his house.
"Make yourself at home," he insisted, closing the door after the girl. He walked to his fridge and popped open a beer.
"Want some?" She shook her head, and he shrugged. "More for me then, I suppose." Rufus then walked over to his dresser, and reloaded his magnum.

Kor was suddenly side tracked by the scent of that female wolf. He moved into the alley way and de glamoured. He began sniffing along behind the two's trail, slowly catching up to them. There was no wind in the alley way, save for the occasional gust of a sewer grate but he still caught their scent quite soon. He stayed a corner behind them at all times, using his nose.

I feel really bad taking klip_klop's character, but I guess it'll have to be that way. For now I have no idea what to do with her, how to build her character, nothing. So it'll take me a bit to make her a realistic character. Sorry about that.
Rufus took off his jacket and his shirt, and threw them in a corner near the door. He walked over to his dinner table, which was a stack of orange crates covered in a cloth, grabbed a chair, flipped it around and sat, facing the girl.
"So, Syare, was it? That's an interesting name," Rufus slurred, taking a swig from his beer.
"Thanks, I guess..." Syare shifted her weight. Her hands were nervously wringing behind her back. There was a moment of awkward silence. Syare hesitated, then said, barely a whisper, "what... was that? That thing?"
Rufus stopped mid-swallow, coughing and sputtering, beer spraying into the air. He wiped his mouth with his arm. "A wolf." Syare's eyes widened, and she opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted.
"Look, I don't really want to talk about it right now. Right now, it's time to calm down. We're safe, alright? God damn..." Rufus finished off his beer. "We're going to lay low here for a while, alright? Then I'll call a taxi and you can go home. End of story."
