A notice appears on the door of the Silver Tower. Another is nailed on a post near the great library of Palanthas, and yet another next to the door to the Inn of the Last Home. Shortly afterwards, notices begin dropping out of the sky near what seams a strange assortment of people. The people scan the notices when they get them, many ignoring them, others read a bit further.

I am delivering this message at the request of a friend of mine, but I guess it involves me as well. That being said, let me get on with this. At about the same time, Timesplit emerged from his house and wandered throughout Fernwood Village, telling the villagers about the upcoming event and inviting them to come to his house for transportation.

The rain of paper startled many. Most tossed the meaningless letter aside, while others read with acute intensity. Ayeka Drache caught her letter with one hand, her eyes widening as she skimmed the contents. Seeing her brother’s name in this unknown hand, tears misted her eyes. Rolling the letter and stuffing it into a pouch at her waist, she turned the head of the black mare, and urged the battle mare into a ground-eating gallop, the white wolf Jennah at the mare’s heels.

::Where are we going? What is so urgent?:: came Jennah’s call as the wolf loped alongside Nytehart.

“We ride to Solamnia, we have been summoned.” came Ayeka’s breathless answer.

Deep within her lair, Crystalamira woke to the sound of paper fluttering to the floor. Her crystalline claws scraped along the crystal floor, the claws snatching the paper just before it touched the gleaming floor. Her golden eyes narrowed so she could read the tiny lettering. Her eyes widened and she turned her gaze to the slumbering form of her returned mate, Navarre.

The nature of his return still even boggled her mind, but she was thankful for it. She pushed against his hulking form with one gleaming, feathered wing. “Come on lazy bones.... We have been summoned, my mate....” She said, nipping him lightly on one shoulder.

“Mmmmphhnm?” Was his unintelligible reply. He opened one deep amber eye to stare at Glimmer, the pupil narrowing to a fine slit, the cool amber warming at the sight of her.

“What is it?” He mumbled, raising his head to gaze at the letter in her claws. His black crystal scales glittered dully in the low light. “Well then... I guess we had better leave then....” He said as he stood, stretching out cold muscles.

“Are you sure?” Glimmer asked, watching him closely.

“Well I’m not about to be cooped up here for the remainder of this life.” He said with a wink and a toothy grin.

Moments later the pair could be seen chasing each other as they gained height, then began to fly west.

Within the forest of Solace Vale, A sturdy hut made from the wood of fallen Vallenwoods stood within a clearing. A young woman, an elf, stood outside, working on the sinew strings for her bow. A large cat lay by her feet, it’s striped body tan and dark brown, his large green eyes half-closed as he dozed. A flutter of paper made the elf raise her violet eyes, and push a lock of pale blonde hair away from her face. The Grass cat growled and pounced on one of the fluttering pages, and neatly tore it to shreds, as Kistalanthsa, also known to humans as Kista Starblade, plucked one of the others out of the air as it nearly fell into her lap.

She read it carefully and then nodded once. “Looks like we’re being summoned, shall we pack and go?” She mused and gathered her supplies and returned to her hut. She pulled her heavy traveling pack out from under the bed, She quickly packed clothes, and food. She unstrung her bow, and packed her supplies to make more arrows. She sheathed the short sword at her hip, and then turned to leave. She paused as something caught her eye.

The rainbow sapphire gleamed from the post of her bed, she hadn’t worn it in years, since the magic had faded from it. She grabbed it on impulse, and then headed out the door.

Within the tower of High Sorcery, The young red-robed mage, a human woman nicknamed “midnightstarr” Sat within one of the many libraries, committing a spell to memory. Not a native of this world, Middie was trying to learn everything she could when a slip of paper appeared on top of the tome she was reading.

She read the letter quickly and then smiled. Her fist adventure since arriving here! She quickly wrote down the spell for further use, and then used it, thankful that she just happened to be memorizing a teleportation spell.

She ran her fingers through her short brown hair and closed her jade-green eyes. The words were plainly visible in her mind’s eye, and she spoke the words carefully, feeling the power of the magic rush through her....

Ergoth, still her favorite places of Ansalon. Kynia sat astride Kyel, studying an old map as the Guardian stallion calmly ate his way through his morning ration. Kynia gave a yelp of surprise as the letter appeared from nowhere and landed on the map.

“Well....” She said softly as Kyel raised his head and turned his blue gaze to her.

::What is it?:: He sent, his ears pricked forward in interest.

“We are being called... to Solamnia....” She said, as she studied the handwriting. “I’m not sure who it is, but the writing is quite familiar.

::Well we are on a sort of holiday... are we going?:: He asked as he picked up the last mouth full of grain.

“I don’t see why not... we’ll just have to find passage to Albansia, and then ride to Solamnia from there.....” She said as she rolled up the map parchment and returned it to its’ case.

::All right then!:: Kyel exclaimed as he turned around, heading east. ::No sense in loitering around here then is there?:: He cried, exuberant as he picked up his heels and started eastward at a ground-eating lope.

As groups formed in Solace, Palanthas, and Fernwood Village, Timesplit appeared at each in turn, directing them to a portal he created, and ushered them through before disappearing himself.

The groups found themselves before a small but well aged keep, deep in Solomnia, where they met with those who had traveled directly.

Airiana saw a paper appear above her and float down to the cave floor where she lay. I wonder what they're up to, she thought to herself as she transformed so she could leave her underground dwelling. She tucked the letter into a pouch at her waist and headed up the stairs, opening a trapdoor to get into her lifemate's mageware shop.

It was about then that Timesplit was going around to tell the villagers of the notice and direct them to a portal. Smiling, Airiana followed him there with Matthiass at her side, a bouncing Calista following closely behind. As they went through the portal, young Calista gasped in awe at the keep, silver eyes full of excitement as they took in every nook and cranny of the structure.

Artimus grabbed on of the leaflets that were lying on the ground. After perusing its contents he figured he may as well see to the event. He was stuck on this world and was beginning to feel a little trapped. Some adventuring might be in order to keep him sane. He left his airship in the capable hands of his crew, and after finding directions, made his way towards a transportation zone.

Even among the crowd it was very obvious that this guy was not from Krynn. His clothes, his accent, his walk, and his demeanor. Everything gave away that he was far from home.

Eliar appeared with a POOF!

Along with Bardus Atthole, Schtolheim Reinbach, King Ai Mer Beech and Kevin Garnett. The latter four didn't appear with a POOF of course, but they more or less arrived at the same time. Yep.

OOC:

I'm not bringing in FF-specific characters, except for Kevin, cos' I might need him if Soaring is bringing in ZEro.

OOC: Well actually, I wasn't sure I should bring in Zero unless you brought in Kevin. Well I guess I will then.

BIC: Zero arrived shortly after Kevin did. He wondered what this was all about and decided to see.

Ankh tapped her foot impaitently and lookd around at the gathering. She was quite curious as to what exactly was going on and would like to know, preferably soon. SHe tucked a grey hair behind her ear and noticed people she knew. Kalia, Airiana, the like.

*

Karina, on the other hand, was here only becuase she was bored out of her mind. ANd this place was steadily boring her as well. She flicked flames in her hand in and out of existance while she wiated to hear what this was all about.

*

Syr frowned. The white robe pondered excatly how so many different things could gather in one place. Never had the elf seen so many different types of things, dragons and black robes and things she didn't even know what they were. Her curiosity got the better of her and she inched closer to the crowd.;

As the crowd continued to grow Artimus began to get more on edge. Maybe it was his training as a soldier or his danger sense that was making him paranoid, but it was happening none the less. He takes note of the different types of people gathering around him. People from all walks of life seemed to be teeming about.

A large crowd gathered before the doors to the keep. Then, the doors opened wide, and they were escorted to a large, comfortable room inside.

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice." An older man in a brown trenchcoat, worn from year of use, announces. "I know, your probably wondering what kind of quest I've come up with that needs all of you. Well, sorry to disappoint you, but I've got nothing of the sort. Just some things that I thought you should know. First off, I'd like to introduce someone to you. This is my sister Jemina. Some of you know a little bit about her, but I'll tell the rest to you now. When Stacey Ali first came to this world, I had just about given up hope of finding Jemina. In the course of my travels with Stacey, I found that the feind Baliol was still holding my sister, and had established a base on the continent of Taladas. Shortly after that, I traveled with my friends Thistledown, J'mes, and Timesplit to Taladas, and managed to defeat Baliol and reclaim my sister. We then returned to Ansalon, and have tried to establish a life for my sister. But, as most of you can see, I am getting old. That is why, I've decided to retire. Not just from my business, but from this world as well. I will let J'mes explain.

A man in brown leather skins steps forward. "As most of you know, I am not of this world. I came here from the planet Pern to gather information and return it to Pern. I have completed the first part of my mission, but I must now complete the rest. In a few days, I will be returning to Pern. Traveling with me will be Javert and his sister, and the kender Thistledown. The mage Timesplit will join us shortly afterwards, by his own means. I doubt that any of us will be returning to Krynn, and we wanted to have a chance to say goodbye. I have learned so much from you all, and I can never repay you."

"I'll miss you all too," the kender piped up. "But I'll be able to see what I can do to help on Pern. It sounds like they have humans who are like gnomes, so I won't be that lonely. And it's a whole new planet to explore!"

"I might return, from time to time, but I do not know for certain." A man in a blue jacket said, a strange looking weapon hanging from his belt. Looking closely at the gun, the words 'Jim Brown’ can be seen engraved on the handle. "Of all the times I have traveled to, none has captured my interest as much as this pocket of space called Krynn. I wish you all the best of luck."

"I've met so many of you on my travels, but I have to go." Javert spoke again. "I think this is the best thing for my sister and I, but it's hard to let go. I will miss you all, especially you Stacey. If not for you, I don't think I would ever have found Baliol again, and never put my parents to rest. Thank you. As a token of my gratitude, I give you this. It is a compass I once quested for. Hold a person's image in your mind, and it will point you to him. Midnightstarr, please give it to her and pass on my reguards when you next see her."

"Kalia, you have been a great help with Sarumth" J'mes told her. "I'm sorry, but I have little to give you. But take these. A copy of my report, my last jar of numbweed, and this." He handed her a small but finely decorated belt knife. "Just an ordinary blade, but made with the finest Pern metals we could create. I've never heard of one breaking. Maybe not as good as your claws, but better than your nails."

"Taemyr." Thistle said sadly. "It's been a long time. The inn has long been empty without your laughter. This is for you. A pouch from the gnomish brewer's guild, with enough gnumash paid up to last another 5 years." His eyes scanned the crowd as he spoke. Failing to find her, his head dropped again. "If anybody finds her, the pouch will be waiting at the tavern we spent so much time in." He looked around again. "I also have something for Mirror. You were one of the first friends I made when I left Mt. Nevermind, and you taught me much about the world here. These are copies of all the maps I've made since then, from all over Krynn. They will remain here at the keep until you claim them."

"Eliar" Timesplit called, smiling at Thistledown. "I hope to see you again, but I do not know for certain. Please, take this, until I return." It is a book of spells developed by my master Mythran. It uses a different system of magic than what's used here, but I think you'll eventually get it working. It also lists many of the planes I've visited, and how to get there. You've done a lot of maturing in the time I've known you, and I hope that you will continue to do so after I leave."

"Now, please," Javert said. "Join me in one last celebration of our time togather. My kitchens are not the best in the world, but they have prepared a joyful evening for all of us."

Timesplit stepped down from the small dias the group had been on as music began to play from the walls. Walking to Ankh, his blue coat and hat rippled as they changed into a fine suit. Thistledown, J'mes, and Javert suddenly became stunningly attired as well, then the ripple continued to pass through the crowd, until all were dressed in rich finery. (Or at least had the illusion of it till they left.)

"Lady Ankh," Timesplit said, extending his hand. "Might I have the honor of this dance?"

"Thanks, although I wouldn't really say that I've changed or mature during my time here." Eliar said. "It's just that as time goes by, I managed to show people different sides of myself. Anyway, I will photocopy this spellbook here and safekeep the original for the time being. You better come back for it in the future, or I'll use it to wipe my butt."

King Ai Mer Beech von Marderfarker sighed in weariness. "I first came in merely to mock Princess Cassandra, yet ever since she left, I was reduced to nothing more than a shadow of my former self. My jokes had gone stale. Sometimes... I had contemplated leaving too."

"So am I." Bardus said. "I wasn't even featured in the FF2 ending."

Schtolheim continued angsting, so it really didn't matter what he had to say.

Kevin sipped his glass of wine slowly. "I do not know some of you here as well as I should have, but I am aware that we fought side by side during the Chaos War in one of the most celebrated and remarkable stories ever told in the history of Krynn."

Airiana bowed her head sadly when she learned of their departure. "Thou shalt be missed," she said to each of them with a sad smile.

When the illusion of finery swept over her, Airiana smiled as her own illusion was replaced by this one. She wore a long, flowing silver dress that waved around her when she moved and her dark hair curled in soft ringlets all the way down her back.

Looking over to her mate, the dragoness could see that Matthiass' guise had changed as well, and he wore a fine suit in a rich, chocolate brown color. Little Calista smiled happily and danced around, revelling in the feeling of the shimmering-blue dress as it swished from side to side.

Matthiass took Airiana's hands in his and they glided around the dance floor in beat with the music. Calista twirled and giggled around and watched the beautiful dancers around her.

Artimus is slightly surprised by the change in his appearance, but some force of will causes him to revert back to what he was wearing before. Looking around he notices the man in blue and thinks to himself, "I've seen that guy before. I can't quite place him, but I know I've seen him before." Artimus then begins to mingle a little. Even though he looks like a soldier he carries himself with an almost royal presence. And it is still very obvious that he is a little out of place.

"Are you okay, sis?"

Recessed in shadow and dressed in finery of a fashion unknown to Krynn, two women gazed on the preceedings. One had a smile and a tear and the other a look of concern. Anya Ali had known coming back here would be hard for her sister, but the uncharacteristic silence was too much. Stacey hadn't said a word since she had returned to this world, merely watching and listening, not even twitching when her name was mentioned.

"Sis?"

Stacey blinked and her expression, a smile lost in the adventures of the past, transformed into the small, sad smile of the present. "I'm okay," she said softly.

Anya pursed her lips in obvious disbelief. "Are you going to at least go up there, say hello to people before we have to go home?"

Stacey shook her head slightly. So much had changed...she was afraid not to be recognized, afraid that nothing was the same as it had been. So much had happened...she'd forgotten so much of Krynn, stuck on the societal rules of Earth, playing its game...she had loved and lost and known so much hurt...

Anya sighed and turned her gaze back to the crowd. So much evil...and it was an unkind word, a doubt, that destroyed innocence. Her sister would never see Krynn the same way.

Eliar appeared with a POOF for no reason at all beside Stacey, holding a can of Coke. "Yeah, I know, Earth sucks. Even one as insanely powerful as I, and indescribably handsome, and awesomely well-versed in the arts of planetary hopping, seldom return to that place, unless I gotta buy something, or I wanna need something new to... er, make my pop-cultural references during my adventures here. Anya stifled a giggle and hoped her sister would respond to this strange man's levity. She understood that it was hard to have someone intrude on one's own private hell, but, life being a series of moments, most of the time all one can do is roll with it.

And hope the moments all connect somehow, somewhere.

Stacey raised a disbelieving eyebrow, either at the interruption to her misery or to the debatable self-discription. Meeting the man's eyes, she calmly reached over and helped herself to his coke. Taking a long pull, she made a satisfied sound, wiped the condensation from the can on her dress and offered her hand. "I don't believe we've met."

"Nope. And I'm Eliar Swiftfire, the embodiment of sexiness. The one and only manly mage who defies everything that was once considered manly. I have a dark and tragic secret that makes me angst a lot, which, of course, made me much sexier." The spiky-haired mage said, extending his hand to Stacey. And yes, incredibly, he said everything with a straight face.

Schtolheim Reinbach, the gorgeously gorgeous yet tragically tragic swordsman walked towards the mage. His motions so fluid and graceful that it could inspire elven poets to compose 1000-stanza poems for him. "Sir Swiftfire!"

"Ack! Go away!" The mage cried.

The swordsman hung his head in shame, in a voice full of sorrow, he spoke. "Yes... tis' a sad occasion, my inclusion will guarantee an even sadder one... I am cursed..."

"YADDA YADDA YADDA!" Eliar interrupted. Snapping his fingers, a TV appeared before the swordsman, and it's playing an anime. "Go watch Graveyard of Fireflies then!"

The swordsman sat before the TV and watched intently while wallowing in angst.

"Yep, that's Schtolheim, ladies." Eliar winked.
