Eliana Stormwind clung to her fathers' horse with sheer desperation... and it was only that which kept her in the saddle. The sorrel gelding thundered down the path at a speed that would have unseated even an experianced rider. Her long dark hair trailed out behind her, a single silvery feather was braided into it. Her skin was darkly tanned, and it made her blue eyes stand out all the more.

Now, however, those blue eyes were filled with tears, and her skin was dirt-smudged. On her right arm, was a blood-stained bandage, and to those she passed, anyone could see that the arm pained her greatly. It was all Eliana could do to stay in the saddle.

The other thing that anyone who would have seen them noticed, was that the girl was just that.... a young girl, fourteen summers at the most, and that she was only armed with a well-made, Ivory handled dagger.

As she rode, Eliana kept herself awake by a single litany.... "Everyone's dead.... and they've taken the stone..."

Kalia_Majere
04/14/2004 4:48 AM

The litany numbed her mind... made her feel detached and distant from all the pain. Her mind churned restlessly however and repeatedly relived those last few moments....

Her father shouting at her, forcing her into Windhart's saddle. His eyes, the same shade as hers, were filled with fury and fear... it was that expression alone that sent Eliana into panic where the death and destruction around her didn't.

"Run Eliana! Get out of here!" Koril Stormwind shouted, his hands trembled against her arm as he slipped his ivory dagger into her belt. His eyes met hers for a fraction of a second before he slapped the horse. In that second, Eliana knew that she would never see him again.

The horse reared in panic, nearly throwing Eliana. Somehow she managed to stay on, and the gelding bolted down the path.... heading west... towards Silvanesti.

A cry of anguish made her turn in the saddle, nearly loosing her precarious balance.... and she saw her father fall.... and in the midst of all the destruction, she saw a mage... a black robed human woman. And before the horse carried her out of view, she saw the woman bend down and take the necklace from around her father's neck......

"The stone is gone...." Eliana sobbed as the horse began to finally slow from his wild rampage....straying into the border of Silvanesti....

A blue haired elf was currently sitting in a tree as his pointed elfears picked up hoofbeats off somehwere into the distance. He walkedd to the edge of the branch and looked down, noticing the human woman riding on a horse, obviously having no idea exactly HOW to ride said creature. He watched this woman for some time, his dark, midnight blue hair blowing around his pointed ears, each one of them pierced at the very end with a small, sapphire stud.

"I wonder why in E'li's name is she doing like an idiot, sobbing on an out of control horse..." He muttered to himself in Silvanesti.

Kalia_Majere

Eliana could no longer even attempt to guide the horse as they sped down the trails... a small animal burrow was just their undoing... the gelding's front right hoof went through the soft earth, and the beast stumbled, throwing Eliana.

The gelding went down with a neigh of surprise, and Eliana screamed as she fell... the landing knocking the air from her lungs. Stunned, unable to breath for the longest moment, Eliana could only stare at the sky above her, her ears ringing with the tourtured cries of her fathers horse, her own pain blinding her to the bright summer sky above her.

The elf almost fell out of his tree as he jumped with surprise as both the girl and the horse landed with two sickening *thuds*. For about two minutes he watched them both, then deftly climbed out of the branch and down the tree, walking, perhaps swaggering over to the horse and frowning, "This one's broken it's leg..it won't be able to get up...." He pulled out a scimitar from a sheath beneath a blue robe, the weapon's hilt seemed to be carved from solid sapphire and the sharp edge of the blade dyed blue, the rest of it grey steel. With cold indifference, he slit the horse's throat, silencing it's whining and complain. CLeaning the weapon on a few nearby leaves, he tucked the weapon back it's hidden container and walked over to the girl, his emotion a tight scowl.

"Quiet." He commanded the wounded human, kneeling down next to her and gazing over her form. She had landed badly on her right arm, and it was bent at an odd angle, probaly broken in more then one spot. Beyond that, and various cuts and bruises, she appeared over all in decent health. His eyes travelled down her body in satisfaction, but his scowl deepened as he noticed that one of her moccasins was soaked in blood. He tore off the shoe and looked at her foot; two of her toes were undoubtly broken, and there was a decent sized gash on the bottom of her foot. He tried to imagine how she'd fallen..probaly landed on her arm, twisted her ankle and landed badly one it, hitting a sharp thorn bush (he looked disdainfully at one fairly close to her which did, indeed, have blood on the thorns) and fallen.

"What a nasty set of wounds," he muttered to himself in Silvanesti again, pondering exactly what to do with the beat up girl...

Eliana's vision cleared at the lilting tones of the Silvanesti language. "Help..." She whispered in common, unable to speak any louder. "The stone... please... Everyone is dead... oh father why?" She sobbed softly, making little sense...

I have no paitence for little human girls killing themselves on horses... he thought to himself and carelessly scooped his arms under her knees and elbows, picking her up and slinging the injured girl over his shoulder as he began to scale the tree again, half for the protection from the minotaurs (who hated scaling trees) , and half because..he liked trees. He climbed up to the thickest branch and layed the girl down on it, rummaging through his pack for something to ease her pain. He was not a healer, and did not carry many herbs, nor did he know how to set bones. He would have to go deeper into Silvanesti to find someone who did, and the thought displeased him.

He was not fond of the deeper forests. Nor was he fond of other elves. But his conscience nagged at him to help this girl. He slung her back over his shoulder and jumped from tree to tree into the forest became dense enought for him to walk.

"Ah, Equinox, a pleasure it is to see you," said one elf in fluent Silvanesti, smirking, "What is that? Have you actually decided to help someone else?"

"Shut up, Kyres," He responded int he same tongue, "I know you are a healer of some sort. Fix this human," He dropped her in front of his fellow carelessly, her bad arm taking the brunt of the fall.

"I can't heal her if you keep dropping her badly."

"Just shut up and do it, so I can go my way."

White was her raiment, a simply yet finely made gown of silver and white. Square cut at the neck, and fitted at the waist, it came to rest just above her feet, hiding slightly the two white and silver ebrodiered soft leather slippers. She stood before a lake, the moon reflecting perfectly upon the silky smooth and still water stretched out before her, but for now she could not see the beauty, for her eyes remained closed against the darkness of the world about her. Even as she stood motionless, no wind or slight breeze passing to disturbed the silence about this Lady least it risk her ire. Her unbound and back length hair, as white as her dress, shone with an etheral radiance as the moonlight graced her gently, her pale and seemingly flawless marble skin reflecting the white light just as the dark waters before her did. This woman, standing before the Silent Lake, that was the Mouth of the River of Stars, was a cold and otherworldly beauty. It was then however, in that moment, that the eyes of O'Ren Ashii opened and viewed the Silent Lake with an odd mix of longing and emotionless discontent.

" I will return my Love, think not of anything else save my return, for it will make this short farewell all the easier. ", even her voice was cold and devoid of feeling, yet the words spilling like trickling water over stones from her mouth should have been ones filled with the warmth of passion and care.... yet were not. With one last look across the waters, she turned in one fluid and swift motion, walking with a graceful, but oddly strong, stride. A sword hung at her waist, and though the blade could not be seen, it was clear it was curved ever so slightly, and the hilt was of ivory, a silver and bizzare looking dragon imprinted on it.

It has been stolen O'Ren. Aid in its recovery. Leave the River and the Lake, search for it, and for those whom will be looking to find it also.....

On the night of recieving that missive, she knew of only one meaning it presented. And so left without hesitation. " I cannot fail this second time, and by the Stars I vow I will not. "

04/22/2004 3:46 AM

Ever did her eyes appear to be as two stars, shining with a cold but bright radiance, as such it was always impossible to determine what colour her eyes truly were, for few had ever seen them. O'Ren's hair shifted slightly as one hand brushed it from her stoney face so that her appraisal of the three figures was unhindered. One, the human girl was injured, exhausted, and the other two seemed to have a cool attitude towards her condition. For some reason, it was the girl that drew her attention the most, and a need to help her swelled in the usually indifferent White Woman. But caution held her back for now, and remain content she did in simply watching the even unfold. She was not stupid, and neither it seemed where the two conscious individuals before her, they would realise her watchful stance, and to that she counted on.

Eliana felt a cool hand brush her fevered brow, and again the soft tones of the silvanesti language swept over her. This time a wave of numbness swept over her, and as that wave receeded, the pain went with it... Exhausted, but knowing that she still must find help, she opened her dark blue eyes slowly.

"She's awake," muttered Kyre, looking up at the other elf, "What should we do with her?"

"Don't look at me," Equinox, Equi for short, responded, scowling down his pointed elfy nose, "I have done my good deed for the next hundred years."

"She cannot stay, Equinox. You know that as well as I do. I, however, must. You, on the contrary, wouldn't be missed - you probaly wouldn't even be notice, so therefore --"

"that's good to hear you care about me so much," He smirked, ""No one will notice your gone"...."

"I speak only the truth, besides," He smirked to match the blue-eyed elf, "I'm sure a bunch of people would celebrate, you've made quite alot of enemies. Probaly why you don't show your freakish blue---OW!"

"Quiet your mouth, Kyre," He watched with satisfaction as a large, red hand-shaped mark began to show on the cleric's cheek, "I'm more concerned about a cow hearing us then what any other elf could care about me. Fine, fine, I'll take the stupid girl. Where do you think I should take her?"

"Go to the one of the big cities, I don't know and honestly - I don't care. Just do SOMETHING."

Equi rolled his eyes and switched to common, glaring down at Eliana, "You're awake," He said flatly.

Kyre, glaring daggers at the other elf, glanced around, his brown eye catching a white figure in the green of the trees, but decided against saying anything. Cleric or not, he did not want another imprint of the dubbed "Blue Elf"'s hand on his face.

An unusually tall elven girl walked quietly through the forest, glad to have escaped her morning lesson with one of the elder mages. Though she realized that she ought to remain with the other students and review for the upcoming examination, she preferred to wander the forest alone.

She was not the most exemplary magic student, nor was she the most delinquent. Her abilities were more than adequate, yet she rarely overworked herself. Magic was her talent and her future - not her favorite pasttime. She would much rather explore the deep forest alone than hover around an ancient tome with several other competitive, ambitious young elves.

Besides, no one ventured here except for Kyre. The powerful cleric did not seem to mind her visits, so long as she didn't overstay her welcome. She had seen enough of the elf's sharp tongue to know better than to cross him.

Looking up from her daydreams, Silaquendra was surprised to see that she was already deep in the woods. That must be Kyre's voice... she though to herself, heading in the direction of the familiar sound.

"It's just me." She called out as she walked into the sunlit clearing. Quite suddenly, she realized her miscalculation. Kyre had a visitor. She meant to scurry away, but caught sight of the human girl lying on the forest floor. Narrowing her eyes as she peered at the cleric, she asked quite assertively,

"What's happened?"

PrincessOfDarkness
04/22/2004 4:22 PM

"What's happened?"

Equinox looked up, his scowl not fading. THis was obviously an elf he didn't recognize, probaly after his self-exile from the deeper forests of Silvanesti.

"You, elf," He looked over at her, "Do you know who the Blue Elf is of which the older elves in the forest speak of?"

Kyre smiled, "Greetings, Silaquendra," He responded, "Apparently, this girl had a bad fall into more then a few thorns. You know the thorn bushes that line the outskirts...apparently her and her horse went tumbling into quite a bit of them...the horse is dead, thought it could have been healed," He glared pointedly at the scowling figure, "But she has broken two toes, sprained her ankle, broken her arm in three places, and is bleeding profusely from her foot. She will have to have a cast over her arm and ankle, and the foot will have to be bandaged, but beyond that," His eyes darkned, knowing that his clerical powers had not returned fully, as his goddess had just very recently returned, "She will be alright."

Silaquendra glanced nervously at the blue-haired elf. A brusque, cold manner was to be expected in Silvanesti, but his obvious hostility seemed excessive. In her opinion, most elven arrogance seemed excessive. She turned to Kyre,

"Do you need any help? We're a long way from the nearest elven settlement, and even further from human lands."

Equinox bristled and turned away, "You didn't answer my question," He said coldly, still turned in the oppisite direction, "Have you heard of the one they call the Blue Elf in the cities?"

"Do not mind him, Silaquendra," Kyre muttered, "He is cold and bitter..and all you can do the help now is moral support, I think. Having your company would be nice, after all."

Equi chuckled to himself and leaned back in the tree, closing his eyes and smirking lightly at Kyre glanced back at Eliana. He pulled out his backpack and several rolls of bandages. Then he went back over to the human and kneeled next to her, holding his cleric's medallion, "Mishakal, " He intoned magically, "Grant your blessings and magic upon this weakened girl, show her love and kidness in her weakness."

A golden glow surrounded Kyre and Eliana as the worst of her wounds healed. The gash in her foot sealed up, her shattered arm bone fused into a simple break, and her toebones fused back into normal. the glowing receded, and she looked in better shape. OF course, there were still things that needed to be fixed, "We'll still need to split her arm. And brace her ankle," HE said to Silaquendra and Equinox, more too the former.

Silaquendra knew where Kyre kept a stash of bandages and splints, and took his description of the girl's wounds to mean she ought to help. Helping herself to a few rolls of white cloth and a wooden splint, she began to wrap the girl's forearm.

"Don't worry," she said, smiling kindly. "The bone's only fractured, so this shouldn't hurt any more than it already does."

'I did my good deed for the next fifty years, Kyre. I am not doing anymore," mutted Equi with a roll of his midnight blue eyes.

Kyre rolled his eyes and chuckled, pulling out another roll of bandages from his pack, "And I thought I could expect something, I really shoudl quit getting my hopes up." He wrapped the bandages around her ankle expertly, "She'll have to go after her stone, I suppose..there's no keeping little humans down for very long."

The blue elf snorted, "She'll die alone out there."

His companion smirked and tied off the last bandage, "No, she'll die with a companion." At the raised eyebrow, he grinned wider, "You're going with her."

Equinox snorted, and then gave a cold, mirthless laugh, "That's amusing, Kyre. I am not leaving these trees."

"Yes, you are, Equinox. And I will be coming with you. It is about time I get out and avoid these cow bastards."

Equi merely smirked and leaned back against a tree, "You can' t make me."

"Oh yeah?"

Eliana winced at the pain in her arm, and while the two silvanesti argued in their own tounge, She began to get the gist of what they were arguing about.

"You won't have to worry, I don't need your help... I can do this on my own or die trying..." She murmmered and turned to leave, cradling her splinted arm.

"Nonsense..." Muttered Kyre, "I will be sending my compaion along with you, and I will be coming as well." He looked at Equinox and switched to Silvanesti, "Equinox Carceri, you are going with this girl, or I will invoke Mishakal's wrath upon you."

Equi snorted and replied in the same tongue, "I"m not going."

Silaquendra remained quiet as she bandaged the girl's wounds. Though she wanted nothing more than a chance to help, she knew that her skills were inadequate for dangerous adventures. They'd probably see her as a hindrance, not a help. She's just have to wait and see.

"Glad to meet you..." Silaquendra replied tentatively. She had rarely seen dwarves before, having lived the typically sheltered life of a Silvanesti elf. "I wish I could tell you more of what's happened, but I'm afraid I don't really understand myself. I'd just like to help this poor girl."

Kalia_Majere

Eliana was listening to what was going on, though she had a limited grasp of the language, she knew that the cleric and the blue-haired ranger who had found her were fighting on wether the one would go or not, the Dwarf had surprised her momentarily, but her attention was quickly averted to what had happened to her....

Trembling, she pulled away from the elf who was helping her, not caring if she hurt the elf-woman's feelings or not. "I don't need your help, I can avenge my Father... I will...."

And then softly, barely able to be heard.... "The stone must be found..."

Kitiara99

"What hath happen two this young woman?" Ghan asked in elven. He looked at her, seeing in her, his daughter's strength. This young girl reminded him so much of his daughter. Oh how he missed her. He was determined not to let this girl be alone. He would fight for her. He still had no idea of what had happened to her, but something inside said to help her.

Kilrithiek Vaeshen sighed slightly and forced himself to take a brief rest up against the trunk of a nearby tree. He had been traveling the length and breadth of the Silvanesti woods, it had semed, and still there were no signs of that Minotaur hunting party the Legion of Steel had reportedly seen moving in Silvanosts direction. "Bah! Damn fools the lot of em..." He muttered to himself wiping abead of sweat off his well angled face. "Who would send one man after a hunting party of minotaur?" Then again he already knew his answer.

He was about six foot four, nearly the same height as Kilrithiek with that same walnut colored hair and deep forest green eyes to match. Had they not been from different families one would have almost said they were kin, save for the fact that Kilrithiek had something in the way of elven blood to his human side that his superior officer Vak didn't. Now perhaps it was because of that elven blood, or perhaps the fact that Vak just plain didnt like him, either way when the idea for this suicide mission came up apparently Kil had been the first to volunteer. Nevermind the fact that he hadn't even been present in the fortress at the time, nor the formal request he had made to remove himself form the mission. He had been chosen for this hunt and there was not going to be any way out of it, save death, which for the time being didnt look to appealing.

So once gain he sighed, readjusted his pack on his shoulders, pulled the hood of his brown and green cloak over his head and started off once again. "Damn fools..." He muttered. And so it went for a short period of time. Not even the breathaking beauty of the woods around him could pry his mind loose from thoughts of returning home to prove how pointless this all was. As a matter of fact he had been so engrossed in his thoughts that when the sound of a dwarves voice permeated the air to reach his ears he didnt even so much as look up before coming to a full halt and glancing around. How in the name returned gods had he gotten this far! He wasnt supposed to be looking in the cities, or at least what passed for one in this wood. Immediately he scowled, "Damn it...now I'll have to...by Kiri-jolith!" At that moment he realized what he had been looking at, a human female, accompanied by a group of elves and a dwarf were standing about in the woods as if nothing was amiss at all. The humn had been badly beaten however but apparently, either the two arguing elves were figuring out what to do with her or were singing some type of odd song. He had never learned that much Silvanesti save the military terms they used when hunting with one another and for the most part the elvish languages were so fluid he rarely understood them anyways. Either way thi smerited some type of looking into.

(( OOC: Hey thanks. And I think it sounds like a plan. I really liked th idea when first saw it and hopefully we can get this thing moving again. Lets show them what it's all about!))

Bic: "Greetings Silvanesti..." He had moved from position on the path, his light cloak flowing about him gently as he made his way into the sunlit glade. He had moved his hands away from the scimitars strapped to either side of his waist. No good in trying to find out what was going on with that injured woman if he got himself killed in the process. Then again, they could just decide to kill him anyways. He was after all in thier lands without permission though perhaps the fact that he was hunting the minotaur might give him a little room for manuevering. "Is there something amiss?" He was trying to speak a little in thier language but once again, as he had been told before, he was stumbling over the words. "You need to learn to let the words flow like a stream. Oour language is smooth and fluid, you cannot rush it without marring the perfection that has been cultivated over hundreds of years..." Wise words from a Silvanesti ranger he had been hunting with who, after laughing for several minuets proceeded to try and teach him to speak the language. Obviously it didnt work and after stumbling over a simple phrase like "Is there something amiss," he merely shook his head slightly and sighed, slipping back into common before trying again, "What happened here?"

Cocking an eyebrow, Equinox moved and glanced over, "You speak our tongue rather well," He remarked in fluid Silvanesti with a dry smirk and a dryer tone, "As for what is going on, well, we seem to be quite burdened with a human child here who insits on going to get some stupid stone....and apparently my companion," He movied to Kyre, who waved, "insists both him and I come."

Eliana looked to the human with relief. "Thank Chislev...." She muttered and limped over to him.

"Finally, someone who will probably act before the brush grows over top of him... They say when Dragons think the world moves on... I think that the same coud be said of the Elves...." She said, her words filled with disdain... then she flushed in sudden embarrassment.

"Forgive me, It is not that I don't appreciate you helping me and the healing of my wounds... But the Jewel that was stolen from my father is a key to a weapon that could destroy what delicate balance this world has... the war of souls has passed, and the world once again moves in it's proper cycle... but if this weapon is unleashed then all is for naught." She cried, her bright blue eyes a stark contrast to her golden tanned skin and her long black hair.

She had no experiance in true battle, only what little training she had gotten from her father... she had to have help if she had any hope on recovering the Gem....

Wating untill they elf had finished speak he gave a small nod, his limited skills in thier language at least giving him the basic idea that A, he had once again been made fun of about his poor elvish, and B they were trying to figure out what to do with the injured woman. Low and behold however he didnt even have to ask any more before she started making her way over towards him. Apparently she was deciding on her own what to do and it looked like it might have something to do with him. "Is there something..." It was then however that she spoke out to the elves...

"Finally, someone who will probably act before the brush grows over top of him... They say when Dragons think the world moves on... I think that the same coud be said of the Elves...." She said, her words filled with disdain...

Hding the smirk that flitted across his face he took a few more steps closer to Eliana, offering his hand as she drew a little closer. Finally things were starting to get a little more ineteresting for him. Though of course he couldnt forget his mission but then again, he had been ordered to aid any of thier allies that needed help on the way. Once again another wonderful mandate from the illustrious Vak to try and keep him away from the fortress. Bah! Why not just disnabd him from the order it would make things easier this way. "Well what, might I ask are you having trouble deciding to do?" He shifted his weight slightly before reaching up to pull the hood down from off of his head. No sence in trying to hide himself any longer, they could tell he was human he just had to hope that the slight point of his ears wasnt noticed underneath his long brown hair. The last thing he needed was to deal with a Silvan who took it into his head to get snippy.

The group was suddenly interrupted by a tumbling shape that came careening towards them out of one of the tallest trees in the woodland area that surrounded them. A long, loud wail acompanied the figure which ended abruptly with a loud "ooof!" as the wind was knocked out of them. The individual lay motionless for a moment, and it was almost impossible to distinguish what in fact, it was. Everything seemed to be differeing shades of white, so that not one part or feature was intirely distinguishable from the next. Just as the gathered people were thinking of prodding it with something, the lump uncureld itself suddenly and sat up abruptly, white hair flinging to the four winds.

"Woah! That was definately a fall to kill even a kender!"

She, for in fact the person in question was a female, blinked slightly and looked around at the group. She was elven, that much was certain. She had the almond shaped eyes, the finely chiseld features and the slightly pointed ears which marked her as such. However, that was where the similarity to her elven kind finished.
