Opened to all, but a few guidelines I request are as fols.:

- do not quote a previous reply, it makes the adv hard to follow.
- no OOC in the adv itself, use them here only if needed.
- use italics to seperate thoughts from speaking. Anything written as a thought can be read by fellow participants but can not be acted upon.
- no DM, no dice rolling. Outcome of battles based solely on writing skill.
- Each person writes as if they are their character.
- No attacking of fellow adventurers, everyone who joins, good or evil, works as a team.
- any participant may advance the adv as they see fit, including encounters, however I'll move the plot a long when needed.
- Battles will be done in turns. That is if you are a caster you can not write: Upon seeing the Orcs Merald cast a fireball and watched them roast in the blazing heat then began casting another. Instead write like this: Upon seeing the Orcs, Merald began casting.
- Monster actions are controlled by who ever.
- Your character will take damage, so make battles realistic.
- Spell components are assumed to be used, so no need to write them in.
- High level adv, determine equipment/spells your char has.. do not make things up as you go, nor use items like: Staff of Uberness +30.
- When you write about your char/equipment do not use stats, desribe them in your writing.
- confused? don't be, you'll see as it goes. Be prepared for a hell of an adventure.

Dude, not sure if you realized this or not, but this is a forum in which people generally don't do turn-based rping like they would if they were gathered at a friends house with a campaign book in front of them. The people here like to rp as if they were telling a story that they have a character in. It's not first person, but usually third person.

Your rules are a little complicated and look like they would take the fun out of rping on these boards as people know it, so I don't think anybody is going to join. I'm not saying that this one thread would ruin the boards mind you, I'm just saying that I don't think you're going to get it off the ground.

Thank-you for replying. But I must state that besides the encounters, no where did I say it was a turned based adventure. In real life encounters, grps would be taking actions simutaneously, but in a forum that is impossible so writing your battle actions in segments is really the only way to make a battle realistic.

As for the rules, let me simplify for you: Keep your replies clean, i.e. no quotes, ooc's, etc.

I must have mislead in this statement "write as if you are that char.", an assumption of third person was made.

The only requirement for this adventure is imagination and some writing ability, not too complicated.

Why don't you join and show what you got, I believe my initial posting in the adventure demonstrates the style I'm looking for.

Again, thank-you for your reply, although I may be new to this forum I am not new to these types of adventures.

btw: hell of a way to welcome someone to your board.

My dear Aeramae, you've just inspired me to write. I thank you.

Goldenheart, hearty welcome to board, any negativity exuded towards you is not personal, simply just inflated ego, please ignore.

Also, the general setting is where your thread should be as it is not related to the series, Forgotten Realms.

What, did I sound a little cranky or something?

'Tis understandable ;)

Actually, Golden, I believe i'm wrong, sorry, haven't read too many FR books to be assuming the thread doesn't belong.

I'm going to post my character as your messenger, if that's alright with you, and allow you to control him as you see fit. Along the way, I think I would also create another character, if thats okay too.

Not much experience in FR setting, though, if thats a bummer.

Erylaen,

Thank-you for joining my adventure. How you join is up to you. The messenger I wrote in was just for a common point for each person who is willing to join to jump in. You may play him/her if you wish, however, with the lack of interest thus far you may find that char. quite boring. But then, even a Messenger could be much more than they seem. :)

I will say that as the adventure (story) unfolds it will be quite interesting. I look forward to RP'ing with you and I hope you like the adventure.

Aeramae,

What? Still no welcome greeting? Join the adventure will you, I want to see how good you are.

Storm

Erylaen, umm never mind about playing the messenger, I just read your post. Nicely done.

I'm gonna wait on my reply, as there is a certain someone here who's probably still debating whether to join or not.

ANother thing, do you have any idea where you want this to go, what the messenger should say? Or should i just make something up, although frankly I'm not really sure it would be compatible with what you might want.

Aye. lol. I have a general story done. I kept it general so those who join can add in twists, turns, or whatever. Post how you want, I love curve balls thrown in to my stories, it challenges me to adapt accordingly. As for the messenger, his job is too deliver a message to selected people from his Mistress, he would not know what she wants of them. Now as for the Mistress you introduced, will you be playing her? If not, then I will write her words in when I feel enough time has past and no one else is willingly to join. If so, come up with a task from her, I'll work it in to my storyline.

Also what char will be your main one for when the band of merry men take to the road?

erylaen

I'm sticking with my messenger boy to deliver the brief message, a scroll, NOw, my main char will be running into ya after you take off from the inn.

Now as for the Mistress you introduced, will you be playing her?

nah, not I, she's more of an apt job for you.

I'm going to post a character first, and if it meets up to your lordships requirements, then I may play her.

Name: Sylvia Plantarus
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Description: 6' even, 195lbs, medium length brown hair, green eyes, tan skin, wears clothing of a warrior for the most part.
Background: Sylvia is a warrior, who lost her parents when she was a young girl. She went to live with her aunt for awhile. Left her aunt when she was 17 to see the world. While on her journeys, Sylvia learned how to use many weapons, but mastered the sword. She just finished a job, and has arrived in town to look for more work, preferably one that will let her travel some more, but she will take anything.

Play any character you wish. I rather learn about them in char, not ooc.

That's it? That's all the depth your char has? Perhaps you are not suited for my style after all.

Aeramae

Two things little boy. First off, you do not need to quote a line from every previous post that you are responding to. Secondly, if you are not willing to give my character a chance, then I will be more than happy to remove her. So far I have be unimpressed with your role playing abilities, so it won't hurt my feelings to let my talents go to another, more deserving thread.

BTW, aeramae, you're doing fine.

Erylaen,

I am sorry to do this, but I'm done with this site. It is too bad, you would have been a hoot to rp with, but I'm forty years old, and do not appreciate being belittled in every reply by another, especially as I am new to this site. Sorry to have wasted your time, and thank-you for showing interest.

Respectfully,

Lawrence

Aeramae, girl, you need to stop this. Stop shitting (pardon my french) on people just because its cool to go along iwth it since the majority might also think so too. Stop harassing new members who is in every right better than you. Please stop it.

Goldenheart, I'm sorry that you felt the need to leave. Your writing skills really amazes me, so it's going to be a major disappointment to us all. And Bullcrap, 40 years old, what the heck, are you implying that you don't belong with this group of younglings?!! Beleive me, I've once roleplay with someone even older than you, and it was a helluva loads of fun mutually. *fondly remembers* And there's only one person here who is doing the belittling and that person shouldn't be taken too seriously. Believe me, its silly to even be sponging it.

But if you're leaving, I wish you the best of endeavors and bounds of success in other threads. :)

First off, when he made his first post about this thread, I didn't think he put it too clearly, so I tried to give him some advice. Sorry if it came off sounding like I knew everything, but I was trying to help. Then, he challenged me to take part in this thread. So I came up with a character, off the fly I might add, and made an entry post. When he insulted my character, he in turn insulted me. So sorry if this little girl hurt the 40 year olds feelings.

And by the way, I'm going on the record with this by saying that I highly doubt the dude was really 40 years old. Otherwise, he would have just ignored me or told me to get lost. That is, if he really was 40.

He is actually and I beleive things got off on the wrong foot with the two of you. These things do happen but if you think because someone is of a certain age that they should react a certain way then you must not know many people. I'm not trying to piss you off or anything hon. I just wanted to let you know that age as nothing to do with how a person should act or react. At least that has been my experience. :) If I would have been in a roleplaying mood as of late I would have posted but now that isn't an option anyway.*sighs*
