OOC: Hey All, I’m back again, w00t! FYI: This is Hellforge. RPGC decided it doesn’t like me so I can’t get in on my original account, so I made a new one so ill be able to get online. Let’s see if that helps any. Also, a quick note. My roleplay skills have gone a bit rusty. Im sorry in advance for any bad posts, because there is bound to be a few. I will work hard to work them out, and to regain my skills, but just please bare with me.

Krynn's night was always perfect. The stars and the almost always clear sky made for excellent viewing of just about all the heavens. The peacefulness of the sky had always been a blessing to the denizens of Krynn, and the skies had been clear since the great cataclysm. It was one of the great wonders of the world of Krynn, and most people though that it would stay that way forever. People were, partially, wrong.

Far away from civilization, and from the eyes of any prying mortals, the sky changed for a moment. Over the great plains, far away from any Plainsmen's tribes, a bright ball of flame came crashing down from the heavens. A meteor. The sphere of flaming rock and ash hit the ground hard, tearing up the local soil and plains. No one would see, but when the dust cleared, the meteor was still in tack. Magma swirled from the outsides and it seemed to secrete a strange black gas that quickly began to spread across the area.

A Small rabbit had the misfortune of being in the area when the meteor hit, and when it saw the flash not too far off in the distance, it went to investigate. It was quickly surrounded in the black gas of the meteor. As the gas crossed over it the rabbit it was hidden from view, and when the gas finally passed the rabbit was no more. What was a rabbit had become a creature bathed in shadow, mutated beyond recognition. Six inch fangs protruded from its former mouth and they dripped with acid and corrosive poison. The creature could resemble nothing more then a demon dog now, because it was swelling in size. Its eyes blazed red, or at least its new eyes. The rabbit’s former eyes seemed to sink back into their sockets, and new ones protruded from its upper head, blazing with fire. The creature went on its way, in its new form, killing any smaller animals that the mist had yet to get too, thrashing at the corpse and devouring them. The mist continued to spread.

Little did anyone know, the meteor had come from the unseen, majestic, black moon...

**********************************************************

The village of Kirn was off the edge of the plains of dust, and was a mostly quiet trade stop for local trade routes. Nothing much ever really happened there, and few people came there, much less stayed there for any period of time. So it was quite a surprise to the few locals when someone moved in off the last caravan through. They had never expected that someone would stay here, and since it was so long since any of them had seen a new face, the villagers were all begging to have the young man stay with them. The fact that there was no inn in the small town only complicated the issue, and the young traveler was forced to stay with a family. He eventually chooses to stay with an old couple off the main path of the village. Aris, age seventeen was delighted to receive such a warm welcome from them

“So, where are you in from young man?” Asked Mrs. Cnnl, the old woman who had originally invited Aris into her home. The woman was short and had short white hair and stunning blue eyes. Her eyes seemed to search you soul when they looked at you. Now, she was smiling at a new person to take care of, as all of her children had died in an accident.

“I came from Solace. I stayed there for a while when I decided to come here.” Aris said simply, fallowing the short grandma too her home, a small wooden cabin.

“Oh, so you have been on a long journey then?” Mrs. Cnnl asked.

“Oh yes, most of my life actually.” Aris replied. Mrs. Cnnl looked at him with almost a sad smile as she opened the door to her home and allowed him entry. As they walked through the doorway, Aris made sight of Mr. Cnnl sitting on a rocking chair fast asleep.

“He works hard,” Mrs. Cnnl said, “He’s just tried. He will be up soon enough.”

They walked to the other side of the room and sat down near the hotplate at a small table. Mrs. Cnnl continued to talk again.

“So, will you be staying here long?” She asked.

“I’m not sure. I guess as long as feels right.” Aris said. Mrs. Cnnl smiled her sad smile again.

“So what brought you here?” She asked, finally.

“Well, you could just say a natural feeling.” Aris said, and this time it was his turn to smile a sad smile.

(OOC: I would like it alot if someone played the Cnnls for a bit. Not for too long though.)

OOC: I"ll answer questions for you.

1. No
5. No.
The rest of them are part of the thread. the entire concept is that WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. andwering all those questions would destory the thread's real conflict. And your laoj is dead becuase it got misted. thank god.

Please Angel, do not be a dragon. If you must, do not overpower yourself. I went over this in Ancient Stir.

Lesse if I can handle three chars. If Tassana can do it, so can I. *Grin*

BIC~

Mrs. Cnnl smiled at the boy, "Well, it's always good when young men follow their hunches. Your gut can be smarter then your mind sometimes."

She moved over and peered into a pot that was boiling on a hotplate, "Would you like some of this stew? I'm told it's absolutely delicious."

She took out two small wooden bows and poured some of the stew into it, placed them both on the table, and sat down across from Aris.

"What is Solace like? I have never been there before. No one here travels much."

~~

Talonwing softly padded towards the small villiage on the horizon. THe land was crying out in pain near there, reeling from shock. He had been sent by his clan, Eaglehorn to discover what it was. They had also told him that if it was others crashing down the trees, then go look for Skystrike, the one who had left some time ago.

He wore little amor, only soft leather pants, and was shirtless, showing off his muscluar body. His golden eyes were stern, demanding, and his face seemed to be in a permant scowl. On his back, he carried a longbow (He was an excellent archer), along with a quiver filled up with arrow. His body was riddled with tattoos, the most obvious being the hawk in flight on his back, and the symbols that crawled up and down his arms. The only other thing he carried minus his longbow was a large bag on his back, packed with supplies and water.

He reached it within a day.

The villiage was rather boring, but many of the children looked at his bronze-tanned skin, stern eyes, and tattooed body in awe. He would find no information here. ONly a short rest at the inn and he would continue to the tortured ground.

~~

Nivek knew the moment that it happened. And had he not, the small messeger would have told him.

"Lord Nivek!" It rasped, "It has hit!" and with a poof, the small demonic creature dissapeared.

Nivek grabbed his clerical medallion and whispered something. The five-headed dragon upon it glowed for a moment.

"I have been correct! And those thought I was wrong! They shall all faulter at the wrath of the Dark Queen and the mist!"

Nivek had been driven out of where he lived. Everyone knew he was a cleric of Takhisis, but he caused them no trouble. Not until about three months again. He had prophesized, told them tha tnose not in the Dark Queen's favor would fall, and he was now correct. He now lived in a very small house-thing.

Those who had laughed at him and drove him out would pay with their lives. And then they'd come crawling back to him, praying to him to save them. And he'd laugh.

He stroked his medallion, the steel dragon set upon an onyx stone, a beutiful thing. Each head had a different gemstone for an eye: ruby, sapphire, emerald, oynx, diamond.

OOC: Angle when you learn to do all of these things listed, you may come back to this.

1- Read other people's posts.
2- Learn to Roleplay
3- Learn to listen.

Now, I will answer the only question i did not answer already. Black Dragons because they already deal alot with poison and desease. (Carosive Gas and Acid.) thust they are immune to the much similar mist.

IC: Aris took the stew, and noted that the lady was correct. Mrs. Cnnl's stew was spectacular. He had had few things quite as good in his life. He decided that since she was so kind to him, he would answer her questions.

"Its big, and there are alot of trees. The entire city is hoisted upon the treetops. It's truely remarkable. The Vallen-woods are huge!" he said.

Aris didnt have the heart to tell her why he had come he exactly. To tell someone that the world is in grave peril is never something Aris engoyed. He just hoped that he had enough time too fix this problem, and to find out why the land was so frightened.

(OOC2: Sorry for spelling mistakes, this was written in a hurry. Ill post again soon, later all!)

OOC: Becuase at this point, a dragon would no doubt complicate the plot. I don't mean to be mean, but it can be very difficult to roleplay a dragon. I don't think you can do it. You have enough troubles with RPing normal chars. call me POD. and second, the mists does kill them. He just has a resistance to it. Also, Lajol sounds like he's lost his mind.

And about the read thing. He's not hte only one who's complained. their's me, and quesh, and airiana, and cherizal, and Flandrake, and D_M. Luni might of but i'm not sure. that's quite a block of the RPers here.

BIC~

"I wish I could go there," Said the woman, eating her own stew, "It sounds absolutely marvelous and beautiful. But now i'm too old and besides that, I don't have a way to get there or a map. My grandfather settled this villiage along with Rodger (Mr. Cnnl)'s parents, and the Snners, which live two houses away."

*

The wind direction shifted direction, and he caught a familiar scent. Slowly he turned around and looked from where it had came from. It lead him to a house, which he knocked on a door.

"Is there a Skystrike here?" He asked sternly, displaying the rudeness that he had never lost, "A man called Talonwing is here to see him."

Mrs. Cnnl looked to the man, who appeared to be a handsome young human in twenties, bronzed and tattooed (Probaly a plainsman), "No, I'm sorry. Only this boy, who is not called Skystrike."

Skystrike

Aris had seen Talonwing enter the room, and insatntly his heart hardened. He had told all of them he didnt want to be fallowed, and here the elders sent this guy to see him? He had only bearly know Talonwing when he was back with the druid tribe they were both from, and when he left when he was 13, he told them all he didnt want to be fallowed. He wanted to see the world alone.

Aris had been born to two High Preists of a small druid clan in the thick forests around Silvanost. As a child he learned the ways of the wild, like all druids did, and developed a deep connection with nature. Among other powers his connection bestowed him, it allowed him to feel the state of nature, and that was why he was called to this village in the first place. Something nearby was causing the land to reel in pain. He had come to cheek it out.

"Is there a Skystrike here?"

The words had caught Aris, Skystrike, off guard. he had not seen any of his fellow Eaglehorns in over five years, and it did not please Aris now to see one.

"A man called Talonwing is here to see him."

Aris winced again. Talonwing had been one of his father's consorts, and that no dought meant that he was here on his command. This annoyed aris greatly.

"No, I'm sorry. Only this boy, who is not called Skystrike."

"No, Mrs. Cnnl, but yes, this man is looking for me. To him I am known as Skystrike." Aris said standing and picking up his bag which he had dropped on the floor.

"Though I dont know why he is here. I told them all not to fallow me!" Aris said annoyed.

OOC: Sorry for the bad rp skills, they have gotten rusty. Give me a chance to stretch them, and Ill be back to full form soon. As for posts about the argument above, Could they be stopped? Argue in OOC: 'swifty. I dont want this post to be cluttered. Sorry for being rude.

OOC: Crap Ive been forced to make another pointless OOC...ok, here we go. Angle I am going to make this very simple so that you can understand me. I dont have a problem with question, just know that if I answer every question now no one has room to be creative or have fun with the thread. Now, I do have a problem when people ask me questions I already answered. Now, if you would be kind enough to delete all your OOC posts, and join the thread or not, we can start over. I see some potential in you, and perhaps I can work with you to bring it out. By the way, this is a new name, I have been here for nearly a year now, so dont talk to me as if Ima a noob. Rusty yes, but noob no.

Also, sorry if I insulted you, but I find my anger has always been close to the surface as of late.

(As you will all find, most of my OOCs have been deleted, please do the same to yours.)

PS: Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone, Im glad to have returned.

OOC: Yeah, there's really no need to be so antagonistic, my dears. You too, Hellforge, while what she did might be irritating to you, but what you said to her were really pretty harsh, whether you mean it or not. Sure, Angel does have her flaws, and she might very often skip sentences... but there's really no need to do something like this to her. Don't forget that everyone's supposed to be equal, there's no 'better' or 'best' RPer, it's just a matter of whether each and everyone of y'all can bring out the best from the STORYLINE. Glad everything's over. Ta.

OOC: Skystrike, you have deleted the post where you explained about the mist. Now I am not sure I remember all of it, but I'll give it a try. I'll just edit or delete my post if there's something wrong. I wanted to send you a mail, but you don't have your e-mail address on your profile, so you'll have to live with my OOCs.
I'm going to play my character Cherizal. She's a Silvanesti red robed mage.

BIC: Six months had gone since Cherizal had passed her Test at the tower of High Sorcery in Wayreth. It had been a shock when she had discovered that she had got the red robes. Actually, she had always known she wasn't going to be a white robe, but she had always chosen to push the problem away until it was time to deal with it.

After the Test she had gone back to Silvanesti. Just to see her homeland one more time before being exiled as a dark elf. The experience in the circle of darkness had been terrible. Then she had been escorted out of the forest, while the guards shouted at the people they met "Look, this is a dark elf, this is a criminal". It had been so humiliating. Her heart still ached when she thought of it and she had nightmares very often. She usually walked until she was exhausted hoping in this way to enjoy a dreamless sleep.

It was already dark and Lunitari was full. Cherizal admired the red moon and sent a small prayer to her goddess. Maybe it was time to stop for the night. Looking at her maps she could see that the village of Kirn was not so far, but she was too tired, so she decided to make camp. She would reach the village the day after. There she could maybe stop for a while trying to figure out what to do. After 6 months of wandering, she needed a change.

OOC2: At first I wanted Cherizal to join Aris in mrs. Cnnl's house, but then I thought it could be too confusing, as Aris already have to deal with Talonwing. She will wait to the day after. And I was wondering. After the mist has killed everything in a place, does it move on to another place? I mean.. After the mist attack is it safe to be in a place or will the mist be lingering there forever?

Skystrike
09/08/2003 12:30 PM

OOC: Welcome to the thread. I dont have problems with OOCs as long as they are coupled with IC posts. Too many OOC only posts have been death to countless threads, and Im very fond of this thread so i dont want it gone. To answer your question, the mist is being shot out constantly from the meteor, and lingers in wherever it toughes. However, even if it didnt, it would not be safe. Witht he mist turning everyone who breaths it into a crazed demon, we would have a fight on our hands. If you meet up with Aris/Skystrike durring your saty in Krin if thats what you choose to do, then you may be able to persuade him to give you a talismen that makes you resistent to the mist. My email is reevejustin@hotmail.com to all who have questions, and my profile will be finished soon.

IC: Aris knew that it would be time to leave. With Talonwing here that would mean that the elders knew where he was again, and he would be pestered to death. As Aris's young emerald eyes locked with Talonwing in hate, he grunted to himself again, asking nature silently she allowed the druids of his clan to chase him across Krynn. It was mostly retorical however.

"What are you doing here, fellow wind caller?" Aris asked in mock kindness, getting to the point.

(Rushed post, srry for mistakes, they will be corrected. Damn im rusty...)

OOC: I know PoD, you said a dragon was a bad idea, but she's blind from a fight with a red, and one of her wings is crippled, so she's not as powerful as she could be.

--------------------------------------------------------------Ebony

BIC: Ebony was slowly tapping her way along the path. An aching pain burned in her side, and her head was throbbing. If she was attacked in this shape, then she was nearly helpless, the throbbing in her head wouldn't let her recall the scattered spell words, and her acid breath was dangerous to her as well if she couldn't aim, and with the lack of flight from her wing, she couldn't escape. ~" I'm as helpless as I look."~ she thought to herself. And she knew she was being followed by the agents of the army that was to rise.

She hurried down the path, the night wind stirring her black hair. As she walked, she could smell people, sense them. They had no idea what she was, and she was not about to tell. She thought that it was probably a plains village. "Our Queen be bl-." she stopped herself. She would never utter that blessing again. The Queen had betrayed dragonkind, and she would never praise her again. She could sense that she was walking between houses, and she was nearing the center of the village. A light, female voice came from her right. "Stranger, are you in need of help?"

----------------------------------------------------------------------Skystarr

Skystarr was walking throught the village. It was beautiful tonight, and the stars were clear as day. She noticed a dark-skinned woman coming in from the edge of the village, with black hair, and one arm bound in a sling as well as a rag over her eyes. She was tapping the road with a stick. She went over to her, and asked kindly, "Stranger, are you in need of help?" the woman smiled and said, "I am fine. Unless you have some sort of healer?" Skystarr frowned. "The healer died in battle a few eeks ago. I don't know if another one has been elected yet."

OOC2: POD!! YOu always lecture me about not reading posts, and yet why would Skystarr be a druid?? I have only put up one IC post, and you are howling at me for Ignoring talonwing!!!!!!!!!!!! Take a chill pill and relax, and think befor ya post. I didn't mean to yell, but please, relax.

PrincessOfDarkness

OOC: Angel!
FOUR! FOUR FOUR FOUR!!!
You have to understand a couple of things. Before I say this, I know Skystrike personally, he is not a noob (as you are), and I've talked to him already. I'm saying this becuase if he does he'll chop you up in little pieces.

Althought Kirn may be a small villiage, one would not immediatly know that Skystrike nor Talonwing are druids. They both give off the PLainsman thing. Druids are not very common and on this thread most don't believe they exist. Also, please do not make Skystarr a druid as well. Me and Skystrike have a personal confrontation that has already been thought out and please don't interupt. I guess, if you play a crippled dragon then that's ok. But please don't do anythign rash or stupid. (too late)

Besides that, like I said, no one would know that there are druids around: they woul dbe assumed to be plainsmen. Also, you have completely ignored Talonwing's presense, which really does piss me off. Talonwing is an extremely intimiating person: he's tall, bronzed, muscular and covered with tatoos. Besides that, Skystrike is not a healer. He is a druid. THere is a huge difference.

The next time you piss me off, I will go all out on my ranting powers. Gods help all who befall them, and I did mean that seriously.

Until you edit your post, you will be ignored. Entirely, much like you have done to Talonwing.

BIC~

"I didn't follow you," Talonwing growled, "Why would I follow you? What purpose would that serve? I have no reason to be around you, nevertheless LOOK for you. Your mind is still in your muscles, Skystrike."

"Please, men, stop this arguing," Mrs. Cnnl pleaded, "It will serve no purpose."

The bronzed druid ignored her. His voice became sterner as he looked down at the younger druid, "YOu have heard the land cry? If you did, it must be great. I will search the area immediatly after a quick rest," He turned to the woman, "Would you mind if I restored my energy here?"

Slightly taken aback, she nodded, "Why, of course you could. I would not turn down the offer of such a fine man. Take some stew also, please."

"No. I will be fine." The druid said, "Where can I rest?"

"My house is very small, but if you are willing, you can pick a spot on the floor, or there is a very small bed for my last son. YOu will not be able to fit in it, though," She lasped into thought, "Whatever you like is good."

He nodded to her, sent a hawk-like glare at Skystrike, and departed.

Skystrike
09/08/2003 1:41 PM

Skystrike chose to ignore the comment about the screaming land for a moment, so to tend to his current situation. It had been nealy five years since Skystrike had seen another druid, his kind, much less enjoyed their company. The tall yet slim Skystrike (Aris) had left for a reason, and one of his already terribly small tride turning up here, now, brought back memmories of his old life before he left. The cage he was stuck in because of his status with the family. Never being able to see much of the nature he shared such a strong connection with. Thats why he had originally left his fellow druids, to see the world and all of it's wonders.

Aris ran his hand through his short and loosly kept blond hair, and gave Mrs. Cnnl a thankful smile.

"I thank you for your Stew, and your hospitality, however, I must be off. I cant keep myself in his company." Aris said, throwing his pouch over his sholder and straping his boots tighter then before, making ready for travel. He made for the door.

PrincessOfDarkness
09/08/2003 2:01 PM

"No, by all means, do stay as well. I'm afraid that like I said I have no beds, but you really must remain here. There tend to be terrible dust storms around here at night. Be wise like your friend and please stay somewhere inside. And since one may be starting up now," She glanced out the window and nodded, "Yes it is."

At that moment, a grizzled old man walked in and embraced Mrs. Cnnl in a hug, "Maria! Who is this lad?"

"this is...Skystrike, you said your name was? There is another man called Talonwing. They are both resting here for the moment."

"ALright, as long as you are well."

Mrs. Cnnl nodded, "I am fine, Rodger. These men are on some sort of quest. Let them be."

Skystrike
09/08/2003 2:12 PM

Being called Skystrike again effected Aris in a bad way. His old tribal name had always been a sorce of anger, because it reminded him of his former cage, and Aris was quick to correct her as to call him Aris. Aris would have tried to use his druadic powers to calm the dust storm, but too much time and energy would be required, and without the help of more druids, it would be more prudent to just ride the storm out. He wasnt about to ask Talonwing for help, though the fact that he would have to saty with the other druid hit Aris hard in the chest.

Aris, without any verbal argument (However he sent Talonwing a very angery sort of look,) sat back down in the chair and placed his bag on the floor again. he continued to eat his soup without insident. After a short while, when he had finished he got off the chair and began to peal off his brown travel cloak. Under that he had worn a white cotton shirt, which he also removed. Both his cloak and his shirt were quite dirty, and Aris made a mental note to wash them as soon as possible. His pants would be washed too, but he could not removed them in presence of his company.

As Aris sat on the floar he leaned his back againts the wooden wall of the cabin and closed his eyes. Before he did so however, Aris got a quick look at Talonwing's back tattoo. It was the mark of the Hawk, marking not only Talonwings family, but his shapeshift form. So Talonwing was a hawk when polymorphed, eh? Aris had not been sure when he was back home in the forests. He was too young to remember, only 13.

Aris had been quick to hide his own tattoo. He had done it himself when his connection had become strong enough with nature to assume his own animal form. He wasnt sure if he had done as good a job as the druids back home would have, but he was proud of his work. He was proud of his portail of the Mark of the Claw.

PrincessOfDarkness
09/08/2003 2:30 PM

OOC: How do you do your own tattoo on your back?

BIC~

"I am sorry," Mrs. Cnnl quickly said, "I didn't know you didn't like it. I"m sorry, Aris. I won't do it again."

Mr. Cnnl walked into his room and fell into a restful sleep as the lady cleaned up the empty soup bowls, "We dont' get many travellers out here. Most of them are merchants from the Plains of Dust, but they don't stay here long enough for anything. Actually, we haven't gotten anyone for the past week or so. Speaking of which, you mentioned to be in the tribe? Which one? Que'shu? Que'kiri? We get alot of them here. That tatoo on his back was mightily impressive as well, I must say."

Skystrike
09/08/2003 3:03 PM

OOC: A monkey could have done it or something...? (LMAO)

"We are not plainsmen." Aris said simply, as he kept his eyes closed. It was clear he didnt want to go over this topic of descution with her.

After a bit of continued conversation with them both, Mrs. Cnnl fallowed her husband to sleep in the only other ajesent room in the small house. Aris saw his chance. Before it was time to sleep and regain his strength, Aris wanted answers.

"What could it be, thats doing this?" Aris asked, ignoring the hatred between the two druids, as he asked the more experianced Talonwing about the cries of the land.

PrincessOfDarkness
09/08/2003 3:11 PM

Talonwing stared at the ceiling, not looking at Aris, "I don't know, Skystrike. But I must find out. I fear it may be worst then anything else we've faced. But you weren't there, of course," He sat up, "Regardless of that, I am going to find out what it is when this storm dies down. I could use my power to calm it, but i'll need it for whatever causes the land such pain. It will pay, dearly."

The elder druid stretched his muscles as he stood up, "Thank you for disturbing my rest, by the way."

Skystrike
09/08/2003 3:15 PM

Ignoring the rudness and hatred of the other man, Aris continued with his inquisition. "What do you mean, i wasnt there? What happened after I left?"

Aris was suddenly worried. Thoguh he had never liked his old life much, he still had friends and family in the old druid clan, no matter how small, and now worry and guilt for leaving them pulsed through him.

PrincessOfDarkness
09/08/2003 3:21 PM

"There was.....a plague," Said Talonwing slowly, his hard barrier cracking slightly as he spoke, "The elk and deer caught it, and gave it to us. Many of the elders and alot of the young children died. My father and his brother both passed away. Chislev rest their souls. Also, my younger sister, Featherbreeze, was killed by it. I was the only one who survived of the Hawks. I was suddenly Cheiftan, but I gave it to Airarrow, you remember my brother and his want for the title? I didn't want it. When we heard the earth shout, everyone voted that I should go." He said slowly, "and I am."

"No..." Aris said, his eyes darting open as he looked in Talonwing's directions. He was lieing, he must be., but why lie about a plague...He couldnt be telling the truth could he? No it wasnt possible, there could NOT have been a plague.

"No..." Aris repeated, as if saying it would cause the fearful fact to be untrue.

"What of Shadowfox? And Windbreath? And their families? What of my family?!?!" Aris aske, in desperate shock.

Shadowfox and Winbreath, boy and girl had both always been Aris's best friends. What little he valued of his old life was in them. They couldnt be dead...No, he wouldnt believe it...

(OOC: Perhaps more on them later if the plotline allows, and depending upon how things are played out.)

"Shadowfox was taken, but his older brother and both his parents survived. Windbreath is still alive, but her parents Starfall and Earthshake both were lost, but her six siblings all survived. When I left, her youngest brother who had just turned two, Raindrop, had it pretty badly, but I think he'll pull through."

Talonwing sat for a moment in uncharacteristic silence, "We could not perform the ritual properly without you, Skystrike. Shadowfox had wanted his greatest friend at his cremation, and he was not. His parents were deeply grieved and they are angry with you for not being there.....They think his spirit is unrestful, though I believe that he knew you wouldn't be there.....It is not a matter of my opinion, though."

IC:
Aris couldnt believe it. He just couldnt. He refused to believe it. Shadowfox was gone? No, it wasnt possible. Not Shadowfox, he was way too good. His connection with nature was so strong, how could he have been lost? It wasnt possible. And Windbreath's entire family, sick or lost? Aris wished he could be there for both of them, but it was too late now. Not old had he let his best friends last wishes down, he had hurt everyone. He could bearly stand to breath, he couldnt take it. The pain was all consuming. How could he have let the two most important people too him down?

He wasnt sure, but he might have cried himself to sleep that night...

Talonwing watched his fellow druid bash himself in self-pity, but ignored it. He'd never much cared for the boy at all, and he'd gotten the same responce out of Skystrike. Regardless of that, he did feel sorry for the younger, his own loss of his family yanking the strings of his heart. He laid back down upon the floor and stared up at the ceiling. He couldn't see the stars, gods damnit, but at this point in time he didn't care.

He wanted to heal the land, fix the world, and then he could return to Eaglehorn. Skystrike could do whatever the hell he wanted, but right now, his ex-clanmate was about the last thing in his mind as he drifted off into a light sleep.

OOC: Well I read through it all. And I think my hw load wont overwhelm me. But I might only be able to post every other day. I'll play an elf, Dante I guess. He is half Qualinesti half Silvanesti. He's a dark elf. I'll give more on his background etc. later and throught the story in IC posts.

IC: Dante coughed as sand flung into his mouth. Just my luck, a sandstorm. Dante pulled a side of his hood over hit mouth and nose. There was a town near by, at least near by under normal standards. He fingered through his pouches and pulled out a mask with tiny slits for eye wholes. He mainly used this in Icewall but it should work for sand.

Dante walked forward. He saw something amiss in the storm. A building of some type, a small hut. Dante sped up but as he got closer his ring began to burn his finger he grinted his teeth and walked back. A mage, what would one being doing out here

Cherizal

It was almost dawn when Cherial woke up. She was covered with sand.
There must have been a sand storm. She thought. She had been so exhausted that she hadn't noticed at all. She frowned thinking of the danger she had exposed herself to.

She felt a little groggy. Bits of a nightmare lingered in her mind. But it was not the nightmare about the circle of darkness, she was sure about that. But there had been a nightmare nevertheless. She could remind a sense of evil darkness around her, suffocation, death.
Lunitari, why do you keep sending me nightmares! I would appreciate a dream filled with hope and happiness for a change! she muttered to herself.

While she was eating some bred and cheese for breakfast, she thought she could smell something strange in the air.
Imagination. It's that nightmare still haunting me
But she couldn't reassure herself. Indeed there was something strange in the air. As all elves, she had a strong connection to all nature around her. She often used the natural power in the trees to recharge after spellcastning.

She rose to her feet and went close to a big tree. She rested her hands on a low branch and tried to establish a connection to the tree, but failed. She tried one more time. Nothing.
Weird... Is it me? Or is it the tree?

She tried again, this time with another tree. Still nothing. It was like the trees didn't want to let her in. As if they were preparing for an attack or a siege.
Something's going on here. But what?
She was more worried than she wanted to admit to herself. She gathered her things quickly and decided to reach the village of Kirn as fast as possible. Maybe someone there could tell her what was going on.

She almost run down to the village and when she got there it was still very early. The sun had just risen. She went to the first house and knocked hoping not to wake anybody.

OOC: She is of course knocking at the Cnnl's door.

Aris had awoken early, more out of habbit then need too. His clan had taught him early on in his years that an early start was the best start. Early bird gets to eat the worm, eh? Not that druids ever killed any animals without dire need. Mostly vegetarians, they ate plants, and respected the plants they ate for their sacrafice. Beyond that however, wanderers always awoke early, to glims at the sun that seemed to hold all their fates.

The first feeling Aris became aware of was the fack that the 'Earthcry' was more strong now and more of nature called out in horror. Aris was startled awake when he realized how close it was. A dark preasence comming on at a fast pace. It would be upon them and soon. Aris was still feeling bitter loss for his tribesmen, but he couldnt worry about that now. He had only hours to prepare.

Getting up, and dressing as fast as possible, Aris walked over to Talonwing and 'lightly' kicked him in the shins. " 'Mornin, wake up, we have little time."

Aris went back to gathering his things silently as Talonwing twisted a bit, slowly awakening. By the time Aris had hear the door knock, he had already gathered all of his clothes, and was ready to set out.

OOC: Well the mage was supposed to be you Cherizal but I guess I have to work with what I have.

IC: Dante found some cover but had to rap the his cloak around him and curl up. Morning came as did the end of the sand storm. "Damn sand," Dante got up sand pouring from his body. He brushed himself off and removed his mask and hood.

"Now to see if the mage is still here," Dante ran up to where the hut was, it was still there. "Excuse me! Is anyone in?"

"What are you yellin' fir sonny," an old man came out in his night clothes.

"You wouldn't happen to have a mage with you?"

"Why no, but my dearly departed friend was and boy I tell you his fence works real nice. Paint doesn't fade and no one bothers me."

That explains it "Thank you," Dante started on his way to the near by town, Kirin.

The old man whatched Dante go he smiled a wicked smile. Once Dante was out of sight range he raised his hand to chest level and spoke strange words of magic. He wore black robes and was at least 25 years younger than the vision he created. The hut folded in upon itself and appered to be a jem. The mage picked it up,"It wont be long now," he looked off into the distance magic aiding his vison he saw the fog come closer and closer.
--------------------------

Dante reached the town(after Cherizal) he looked around very dissapointed. "Not even an inn," Dante shook his head and went to the town well which would be crawling with children sent to fetch water by their parents. He walked along seeing a red robe knocking on a door,So that must have been the mage. Old senial fool.

Dante slowed his pass wondering if the mage had chosen that house on purpose.

OOC: The black mage wont be a main part unless you want him to be Sky. He can try to control the fog then turn or something else.

Talonwing growled to Skystrike, but he was out the door before he could do anything else. He hopped up, grabbed his stuff, and was about to walk out before he was met with two elves.

"Yes?"

"Now now, Sir Talonwing, don't be rude!" Mrs. Cnnl shouted in a very motherly fashion from behind him, pushing the powerful druid out of the way and smiling at Cherizal and Dante, "Hello, mage. How are you doing?" She turned to Dante and asked the same question.

Cherizal
09/10/2003 4:20 AM

OOC: Sorry, Flan, but you named a hut, while Cherizal was sleeping in the open, therefore I thought you had something else on your mind. P.S: Remember the ambush!!

PoD, maybe I've misunderstood something, but I think Dante is watching Cherizal from a distance, he's not standing behind her.

BIC: Cherizal had just thought of reaching the village fast, but she hadn't really considered what she was going to say to the people she met in order not to sound completely crazy. She had to remember that humans were not so perceptive as elves, and it was possible they hadn't felt any changes in their surroundings.

When the old woman said hello to her, she stood there for a moment completely speechless. Her mind working at high speed in trying to find a valid excuse. With the corner of her eye she noticed a plainsman standing beside the woman.

"Good morning, madam! I've just come to this village and I was wondering if you could be so nice to invite me inside and give me a cup of tea? There's no inn here and I need something warm, it's been a terrible night out there with that sand storm. Don't worry, I can pay for it. And I would love to have some information about this place. I have never been here before"

She tried to smile warmly to the kind woman, even if she didn't feel like smiling at all. The strange smell had got stronger and it was like an alarm was ringing in her ears, and her body was screaming wanting to flee from that doomed place.

Aris sat in the corner, ready to leave at any time. He had been so for quite some time, and he was not just waiting for Talonwing. As much as he hated to admit it, he would need his help in investigating the 'earth cry.' Aris was almost paralyzed with fear, and that was not a good sign. Durring his adventures, Aris had come across many dangers and had almost never been afraid, but with the Earth-cry so close and so loud, added to the information he had recived from Talonwing about his home, Aris was on edge, and his feral nature, one he had developed from such a close connection to nature, and its animals, set his mind ablaze.

When Mrs. Cnnl had opened the door, Aris instantly noticed that the elf at the door was a mage. He could feel the change in anture about her, as it was with all users of the arcaine arts. Aris, like all druids of his Eaglehorn clan hated mages, with a burning passion. Though they may be polite to them in conversation, and deal with them you would never find a druid willingly allied to a mage. Magick, and it's strange powers upset the normal equalibrium(sp) of nature, and that was what the druids of Eaglehorn were all about. The mages were the incranate of the strange power that was tearing the natural order apart.

Before he could talk, he saw Talongwing walk forward, still only half ready to leave, and politely greeted the blasphomer. Aris's eyes glowed with hate. He had had a good comment to toss and everything. Now he has another reason to be mad at Talonwing.

Trying to ignore the hate in his heart for the mage, Aris went back to self pitty for his lost friends and family. He continued to wait.

"Talonwing will suit me just as well. I am no knight," he responded and then fixed his gold-eyed, intense glare on the red robe, "Are you heading out further? You are an elf, and you would of know such. A...companion," He said with the world with a large emphasis, dripping sarcasm, "of mine," he motioned to Airis, "and I are also heading out. But please do not join us."

"Nonsense, Sir Talonwing, the more the merrier. And besides, you sound like your heading into grave danger. Mages are always good for grave dangers." She grinned at Cherizal, "ANd she's not even a black robe. Red robes are always helping people."

The druid just continued glaring and sat at the table with a stubborn stare.

Aris was shaking with rage. He turned to Talonwing this time, not noticing anyone else in the room, and shouted at the elder druid. As he did so, the earth around the house shook a bit.

"How can you talk to her in such a tone? How arrogant and rude can you possibly be? She took you into her home, feed you, and kept you safe from fatigue, and all you can do is yell at her with harsh language?" Aris shrieked. All of his anger about the current situation was comming out now. Anger about the earth-cry, anger about the loss of his friends and family, and anger at the mage was all exploding on Talonwing. His emotions were so out of wack that nature began to react to them. The house was now noticably shaking.

"Do you have no sense of manners at all?" Aris yelled.

PrincessOfDarkness
09/10/2003 7:03 PM

Talonwing stood very still as Airis exploded at him, "You will throw off nature if you should like that, and very likely call it closer. Calm yourself, Skystrike, you're acting like a fool. And you're being a bad example for Eaglehorn."

With his own power, the shaking stopped. The shaking of the house, at least. The younger druid was till fuming, "And furthermore," He commanded, his tone becoming even more stern ,"I am your cheiftan. You will treat me with respect, or I will give you what you deserve. And since we have a nice history together, you know what that is."

He placed one muscular hand on AIris's shoulder, "Now quiet yourself and if you must, I will defend myself in a place where we won't harm innocents."

How could nature favor Talonwing over him. How could the spirits of collective life listen to Talon's command and overide his anger? Aris didnt understand this at all, but he guessed the elder druid must have had a better connection at the time, because Aris was unfocused with rage.

"I am your cheiftan. You will treat me with respect."

This comment alone had calmed Aris. He laughed mentally. He then let off a goofy smile, with clear distain attached afterward.

"My Cheiftan. Hahahah! I left Eaglehorn long ago! I have no tribe!"

"Thank you for your kindness, madam!" said Cherizal to the old lady.
She listened in shock while the two plainsmen in the room started offending her and argueing with each other. She could feel the hatred and the comptemt they had for her and it hit her like blow. It hurt so much. Yes, she was a mage, she was a slave to magic and that had caused so much pain in her life already, but did this really make her a worse person than everybody else?

She bit her lip trying to hide the pain in her heart, her eyes narrowed and darkened, then she spoke in a cold plain voice.
"I came here to get a cup of tea and some information, not to cause you trouble or offer my help. I haven't done anything to you and I don't deserve your sarcasm and your scorn. I do hope that it's this strange smell in the air affecting you like that and that it is not your normal behaviour to attack strangers like that. Many people would choose to kill you for what you just said."

She sat down waiting for her tea, closed her eyes to keep the tears back and tried to regain her inner balance.

"I do hope that it's this strange smell in the air affecting you like that and that it is not your normal behaviour to attack strangers like that. Many people would choose to kill you for what you just said."

"Excuse me?" The druid turned, "You mentioned a strange smell? You elves can feel it too? Strong, indeed. We should get going as soon as possible...........forgive my rudeness, also. My people," He motioned to himself and Airis, "Do not like your magik."

Aris sat on a large hill overlooking the begining of the plains in one direction, and the small village of Kirn in the other. As Aris sat, a wind picked up around him, and on that wind the whispers of the sprit of nature called to Aris. The earth-cry was stronger then ever possible. It was almost on top of the village. The whispers on the wind were tortured and screamed with hate and anger, and Aris could feel the colective emotions of nature pressing on his already strained mind. As Aris observed the area, not seeing any change in the raising sun, a few tears fell past his eyes. The events and information he had recived were too much. He was close to a breakdown.

He couldnt stand it anymore. The earth-cry had been so loud now, that there was no reason why he couldnt see what was happening. He should be able to see what was tortuing the earth by now. Aris held his hands over his ears in pain as the call of nature suddenly no longer a whisper screamed about him. It hurt Aris. Because of his empathic connection to nature, much like all druids, he could feel the land's pain. Aris fell to the floor in torment, losing control of his polymorph form. He morphed, unwillingly this time, into a massive grizzly bear. Though the pain continued, if not even amplified in this form as his connection with nature was stronger, he could now see what was going on. A dark cloud of unholy mist aproched and it was that that was the cause of the terrible and most painful earth-cry.

Bear-Aris, Skystrike, let out a battle roar, so loud that it could be heard for miles, alerting the area of danger. He prepared himself for a battle, but how exactly do you fight a cloud...?

(OOC: You cant really call druid power magicks. It is powers that belong to nature, and not to the user. Only though a terribly strong connection and empathy with nature, can a druid do anything supernatural. Its kind of like Shamanisum in 'Lord of the Clans,' though not exactly. Just for reference.)

Dante kept away from the house as it started to shake. He listened, he heard men arguing and cursing. He whatched as one stormed passed the mage. The other soon followed. Dante slowly went down the rode keeping with the plainsmen. It appeared something was wrong. Dante had felt something but figured it was only the mage his ring had warned him about.

He followed them wanting to know what was going on as much as the mage. The figure grabbed his head seemingly in pain. He fell to the ground and morphed into a bear. "What the hell?" the plainsman didn't like a mage to him. He would have moved closer but thought it best to stay away from a bear. Instead he walked to the other,"Your companion seems to be angry," Dante stayed very calm but inside he was bursting with questions and the lingering fear he had felt when he was first banished from his homeland.

PrincessOfDarkness

Talonwing only took two seconds to check his own power to realize that Airis was right. And only two more seconds to sprout wings and a beak, polymorphing into a hawk, the sign of his family (Wingfeather), and the symbol of the tatoo that graced his back. He scooped up the elf in his talons and half dragged him off. Becuase the weight of Dante would not let him get very high, Dante's feet skimmed the ground as Talonwing strained his wing muscles to keep both of them off the ground.

They blew straight into the small viliage, the slightly larger-then-usual bird of prey dragging an elf attracted some attention.

"What are you doing with that man?" Mrs. Cnnl shouted, unknowning that that bird was trying to save the elf. She grabbed a broom and tried to dislocate Talonwing's grip on Dante, but to no avail. Despite the fact that Talonwing had never carried an elf before, his wing muscles enabled him so to leave the villiage as rather quickly, as the mist overran the small villiage of Kirn.

The red robe had been an elf...good....

He dropped Dante and landed on a rock, preened his feathers, and then polymorphed back into a human, "This will get real complicated real fast, elf. Listen quickly, and listen good. Whatever that mist is it is bad. It wants to kill us, or something. We must stay away from it at all costs."

He also saw Skystrike emerging from the mist.

Before he knew it the kist had decended upon him, and he was enveloped in back smoke. Aris tried to hold is breath long enough to escape the cloud, but to no avail. The mist moved with demonic spped as it began to overtake the village. A few of the small farmers at work on the outskirts of town were the first to make contact with the black mist. What it did to them was horrid. They became shadows of their former self, wraped in pain and suffering. As soon as they breathed in the mist, and changed into the demonic creates Aris sees now, they attacked him. They fallowed him with speed that was unatural and there was bloodlust in their eyes. Aris couldnt move too fast. His lungs were not handling the mist too well and he was have a hard time taking breath. However, why didnt he change when he took the mist in? It caused him pain, and his innards were on fire, but he didnt change, why?

As he imerged from the mist he was hacking like crazy. Seeing the small farm village in chaos hardened Aris's heart. people were running from the mist, and from the demonic remains of those who had already breathed it. The demons chased after them, catching many and tearing their bodies apart in bloody rage.

Aris called all his faith within him and summoned a gust of wind to try and force back the mist, however, it was uneffective. The mist seemed resistent to nature. What were they going to do?

"Stay here," Talonwing growled at Dante, before jumping intot he air and swooping back, with wing and talons, into the black mist that had stopped temporarily.

This mist was strange. It could travels at impeccable speeds, yet would stop suddenly, as if waiting for a command. He would have to figure it out after this problem was solved and the land was at peace.

The mist burned his lungs and his throat, searing down his bracial tubes as he fought to grab the other Eaglehorn tribe member. The wind was pushing his light-boned hawk backwards, and becoming human was too dangerous. He made a grab for Skystrike's shoudler and dug in, making sure he didn't fall off the boy and tumble backwards, shattering every hollow bone he had.

Aris backed off from the hawk and the mist slowly, still not really being able to handle the strange black cloud. His lungs were ablaze, and he found that he could only release the pain by shapeshifting, which he did. He found that as a bear it still hurt greatly, but he could handle it alot better, as his lungs reformed when he shapeshifted.

"Skystrike, get away now!" Talonwing screamed.

Aris wouldnt, he couldnt. The cry-spawn were comming for him, and he had to battle. He let out a shattering roar.

OOC: You guys write a whole lot while I sleep! But you could have taken me along!!

BIC: Cherizal was confused. Things had been happening so fast. First this elf approaching Talonwing, then Aris turning into a bear, Talowing turning into an eagle and carrying the elf away... And then the worst... this black mist. The earth was in pain, she could feel the scream of horror of all the living beings around her. The noise was almost unbearable, but it was not her biggest problem. The mist was affecting her as well. Her body was burning from the inside and she couldn't breath.

She cast a spell of protection trying to keep the mist away, but she knew it would not keep her safe for more than a few minutes. The mist was too powerful. She had to get away. She tried to run, but her legs were so heavy and she was not able to go as fast as she wanted.

She fell down on her knees.
No, I can't die like this.
She shut out all the screams, went into herself trying to find the strength she needed and then began to crawl away.

OOC: Talonwing is a hawk. ^_^ ...you should sleep less. ^_^ Oh, and Eaglehorn refers to the tribe that both Talonwing and Skystrike belong too. ^

BIC~

Talonwing threw a icy stare in the direction of the other druid before riding the mist out of it's cloud. He took a split second to make sure that the elf was fine (still sitting on the ruck) and landed. He gave his bird body a minute or two to calm the raging fire in his wing muscles and his bird lungs, and then changed back into a human.

He peered into the mist using his hawksight, but all he could make out were dark blobs. He knew that he'd have to go back into that mist to help his druid fellow and a small red thing that appeared to be the mage he'd seen before. Not like he really intended to, but the back of his mind nagged that although a mage, she was an elf, which were almost as close to nature as druids.

He pulled his bow out and cocked an arrow as he walked straight into the mist. It stung his open eye, and burned his lungs terribly. But his aim rung true, and the demon things that he hit tumbled to the ground in a state of death, or as much dead as a undead demon could be.

Taking breath was torture, but he perserved. He was Talonwing, true cheiftan of Eaglehorn. His quiver rapidly depleted as the demons fell to the ground. Skystrike was not doing too badly himself. The red robed elf was falling to the ground, looking rather..welll....dead. He growled to himself, murmuring about elves being weak. He hurled the female over his shoulder, and trudged out of the dark mist agian. Dropping the half-unconscious elf near the other one (who looked rather annoyed), he nailed more of the creatures as he walked head-on into the mortally-wounding fog.

The demons were relentless, and he wondered distractedly where in Chislev's name they all came from. But he reached for another arrow,, and came up with empty air. So he punched the thing inthe face.

The next one hit him in the back of the head by suprise, sending him spralling into the ground. He apparently had picked up a kitchen knife, and was coming dangeriously close to the elder druid.

Skystrike had this covered, he was working like a madman, chopping the things up left and right. So he dodged the knife, grew familiar wings, and soared out, his entire avian body searing and wracked in pain.

When he finally polymorphed into a human again, he collapsed onto the ground and fainted from exhaustion.

Dante stayed on the rock only because he wanted to figure everything out. He whatched and waited as Talonwing brouth the elven mage back to the rock then flew back in. He knelt by the mage pulled some herbs out of a pouch placing them in her mouth and in front of her nose. He looked into the mist seeing severa; figures attacking what he asumed were the plainsmen.

He wanted to run into the mist but one glance at the mage chanegd his mind. He kept his hands ready incase soemthing attacked instead Talonwing flew back and colapsed in front of him. He did the same thing that he had doen for the mage. Hopefully the herbs would clear out their lungs. "Where is the other one?"

Airs, as a bear, fared much better then he would have normally. with the claws and strength of a bear, he found the battle not to be as overwhelming as possible. However, he was loosing to the mist. It was tearing him up inside, and he ahd to get away from it before he lost concentration and died. As Aris saw Talonwing back off he did so as well. However, as he did so at the edge of the black mist, he had come across a cry-spawn that looked much familure.

It was Mrs. Cnnl, and she was no longer herself...

Cherizal
09/14/2003 2:10 AM

Cherizal opened her eyes and realized she was alive. Her body was aching terribly and she felt very groggy and confused but she could a least breath a little better. She pulled herself up and looked at Dante and Talonwing.

"Thank you for your help. I guess I wouldn't have made it if I had been alone."

"Where is the other one?"

Cherizal looked around and noticed that Aris wasn't with them. He had been rude, but she hoped he was safe, noone deserved to die in that dreadful way. Then she shifted her gaze to Talonwing.
"What is this mist? Do you know if it can be stopped somehow?"

PrincessOfDarkness

OOC: I really don't feel like playing some demon-cnnl, so you do it, Jase....

Talonwing gasped, realising he could breathe again. He coughed several times, then pulled him into a sitting posistion. His lungs and throat still ached terribly, but the pain was easing.

"I don't know," Talongwing replied, "Skystrike is goign to himself killed if he keeps fightin those things, and not by them. And no thanks are needed. Despite the fact you are a magi, your are an elf, and Eaglehorn respects elves. That mist, whatever it is, is corrupting people, things, everything. It is why I am here. I am Talonwing, if you do not know already, but I have across your name."

Skystrike
09/14/2003 11:16 AM

Mrs. Cnnl said nothing, and Aris was not even sure if she was able to say anything anymore. She just charged him with demonic speed. In fact she was so fast, and he was caught off guard so terribly, that she managed to smack him so hard that even in bear form he tumbled over. Not wanting to fight the monstrocity, Aris tried to blunder off, but it didnt seem to be working. She was just too fast and the mist was really begining to slow him down.

He was forced to do battle...

As he turned arround to look back at the cry-spawn she powered forward and smacked him again hard. He could feel his jaw breaking. The pain was intence, but he had felt worse. The mist for example. Aris flew backward. Somehow the cry-spawn that was once an old lady had gained enough strength to send a 800+ pound bear flying through the air with a single smack.

Aris tried to recover, but the demon saw fit to not allow it. However, as she moved in for her next attack, Aris let out a massive raor infront of her. The sheer force of the sound-waves threw her back midair. Aris turned into a human again, making a dash for it. He was at the edge of the mist, and even with his injuries, (several cuts and bruses, Asfixiation, and a broken jaw) he managed to escape it to the very rim of fresh air. On a hill above him he saw Talon with the reched mage and another person who he didnt reconize too much.

Aris would have climded the hill, but he finally left to his wounds and colapsed right outside the black cloud of death.

"It's good to know that there's at least something about me that you respect" Cherizal said sounding more sarcastic than she had intended to. "My name is Cherizal Sølvstjerne and I guess we'll have to stick together if we want to have a chance to survive. If we don't try to stop the mist, I guess it will trasform our beloved planet in a place of death. The question is how we can do that..."

She was going to ask Dante who he was, but then she noticed Aris collapsing.
"I think your friend needs help"

PrincessOfDarkness
09/14/2003 12:59 PM

"My respect is hard earned," Talonwing replied before kneeling near Airis and checking his vitals, "He will be fine, but whatever you," He looked to Dante, "did to let me and Cherizal breathe again i suggest you do upon him as well. If we don't open up his lungs he'll suffocate. Chislev would not forgive me."

"However, I don't know what I can do to save him."

The group was standing too close to the mist, at least that's what Dante thought. Aris had managed to pull himself out but he didn't make it very far. He heard screams inside the foggy doom. "We must take him away from here, I'll try my best to heal him." Together the three took the druid to the hill and lay him down under a tree.

Dante pulled out the herbs he had used and hoped his mouth noticing the broken bone in the jaw as he moved it. He set the herbs into place,"I'm not sure this'll be able to bring him back," Dante pulled out a vile,"This liquad will give him a shock that will make him puke up the mist," Dante poured the liquad down Aris's mouth.

"That should save him," Dante glanced at the mist wondering if the creatures inside good leave the poison shell.

"Which kind of herbs did you use? I don't recognize them even if I know a lot about herbs. And are they difficult to find? I think we should try to find as many as possible, I'm sure we are going to need them again."

Then she looked at the black mist that seemed to be dangerously close.
"I wonder how fast this mist moves and if it's trying to reach a particular place. Maybe we should try to find shelter in a place that's more safe than this, for the time being at last, and decide what to do next. "You should be the first to apply your own rule. Don't speak of what you don't know. And I am 70, ignorant."

She decided not to listen to him anymore, it would only make the situation worse. He could die in the mist, she really didn't care. She kept walking trying to figure out where to go.

First it would take all my strength and I would need to rest a couple of days to regain it and then thinking of the way you and your friend have welcomed me I don't wish to be alone with a whole tribe of people that hate wizards. Speelwork disruped with a druid's connection to nature, and he didnt like the idea of having that happen in a crisis. However, when he opened his eyes, and stood, fury on his face he noticed that the mist was far too close. They had to move now, and his anger could be taken out of Cherizal later.

"But I will be able to keep a fast pace, don't worry about that. But what about our friend here? I'm sorry but I don't think we've been introduced..."

"We have no time for introductions," Aris nearly screamed at Cherizal, and then turned to the dark elf, "Im sorry for being rude, but you will have to introdice yourself on the go. We need to leave, now."

With that Aris made a prayer to nature asking for the speed of a horse and the vitality of a turtle, praying that the fould mages magick had not severed his connection with the spirits of the wild. He was thankful to find that it hadnt, really. However, he felt as if he had to try alot harder to convince nature to bend to his wills. Aris cursed Cherizal under his breath as he bulted forward.

Normally, you could get the the forests where Eaglehorn made it's home rather easily. If you knew where to go, and had a basic respect and understanding for nature then it would be a rather simple matter to get to their forest homes. However, conditions were no where near normal this day. With the mist lingering about, they had been forced to take an alternative route. A rather several times more danerous and less traveled route. Not only that, but with nature screaming in horror, it made it all that mush harder to call upon her powers for your aid. All and all right now, things were rather horrible. They continued on though. They were required too. There was just too much at stake.

She knew it was necessary to destroy the mist somehow and if Eaglehorn had a way to do it, then she would do her best to endure the pain she was sure those people were going to cause her.

Aris walked now, at a steady pace, but not so fast that it were a mad dash. They (as the group) had already put a few miles between them and the mist and they slowed down now a bit, so as to be able to go further and retain their energy. Its around nightime now and the stars are begining to wink into the skies above them. Aris is left with a bit of a forboding feel as he lags back a bit to talk to Dante. The Dark Elf had saved his life and Aris felt that he needed to thank him.

"You know," Aris said after he had fallen back enough to talk to Dante alone without any chance of being heard, even by Talon's powerful hawk ears, "I dont know anything about you, but already owe you so much. I would like to change that if you dont mind. I owe you An-leshak, and I feel I should know more about you."

An-Lechak, in dradic toung meant 'life-dept' and it was the most seriouse oath that any of the Eaglehorn could possibly take. Aris owed this elf his life, and he would be intending to pay him back, be it by servitude of a favor. Either way he was honor bound to do as this dark elf wished him.

The group stopped to rest and Dante thought it the perfect time to name himself,"My name is Dantallieus. You can call me Dante. I'm half Qualinesti half Silvanesti. I was banished from both worlds and now wander Ansalon doing jobs. I have journeied to many places thus why I have an odd assortment of equipment and herbs," finished with his story Dante waited for the others to speak.

OOC: I know Flan, but it's a question Cherizal would ask every dark elf she meets because she is curious and she is a dark elf herself and needs to share her pain with someone that knows how it feels to be banished.

BIC: "As you wish, Dante" she said quietly feeling a little hurt by his answer well knowing though that was a delicate argument and that most people would not talk about something so personal with a stranger.
She lay down and fell asleep after a few seconds.

The sounds of the night filled the area as Aris looked about trying to find out exactly where they had come to rest. Aris found that he couldnt keep his mind on learning their locations however. So much had happened in only a few hours he really wasnt sure how to handle it all. This time yesterday he had been setting in for food with a kind old woman who was happy to take him in. Now he was busy running from the dank fog that had turned her into a bloodthirsty demon.

The Earth-Cry...

Even now, the beastly mist was comming at them. Slower now then before, but it was spreading out in all directions. It was hungry for them thursting for them. He could feel it in the earth, and in the sky. It wanted them, as it did all life. It was annoyed that they had escaped it, and it almost seemed to be alive itself. It was comming, and all that Aris could think about was Shadowfox.

Aris and Shadowfox had been best friends back in the village. One could say the two were joined at the hip. They spent every waking, and sometimes sleeping, moments together. Shadowfox had been the one that Aris had always confided his feelings in. Shadow was the one that had helped him with his studies when he was young, and it was Shadow who shared some of his rations durring the famine with him when he had eaten all of his own.

Aris was pushed to tears now, as he remembered the last time he had seen the other druid. It had been the night he left...

Flashback

Aris was ready. He had assembled all of his belongings and everything he would need. He had taken enough food and water to last him a month, and he had everything that he was going to need. He was leaving now. Packing it all into a pouch and swinging it over his sholder. He then pulled on his furs, so that he would be warm. He was going before anyone could realize he was gone. He had planned this for months it was time...

He was almost gone too, when he ran into him. Aris was annoyed now. He should have known that Shadow would know when he tried to slip away. The other druid always knew whenever he tried to do things. It really pissed him off sometimes, much like now.

There was no need to speak betwene the two. They had always seemed to know what eachother was thinking. Shadow had was standing becide a large oak tree covered in leaves from the comming fall. All shades of color, red, yellow and green. Standing there, with his sad look, finally spoke.

"You better get going if your going to leave before the cheiftans realize you gone, Sky."

Aris smiled, "Thanks Shadow!" And with sad tears, he was off never to see Shadow again, or ask him why he had such sad eyes. Aris mentally bashed himself for not asking Shadow to come with him. He knew however, that the other youth never would have answered yes. He had too much to look after back at Eaglehorn, and now he was gone, and he would never see him again...

End Flashback

Aris roared, crying like he never had before. Sarrow had overcome him now, and he was going to tear himself apart with sadness and a sense of loss.

(OOC: Cherizal, now might be a good time to try and bond with Aris. He would be more receptive to you when hysterical. Just an idea.)

Aris roared, crying like he never had before. Sarrow had overcome him now, and he was going to tear himself apart with sadness and a sense of loss.

Cherizal was suddenly awake. She lay completely still trying to figure out what had disturbed her sleep. And then she heard it, the sound of someone crying. She looked around: Talowing and Dante were sound asleep.
Aris...

She didn't like the boy, he had been such a nuisance and all his harsh words had hurt her deeply, but now she could see him how he really was.. young, scared, in pain... just like herself. Silently she got up and went to sit next to him. She hugged him gently and held him in her arms singing an elven lullaby her mum had used to sing for her when she had nightmares. And she cried too, for herself and her lost family, for Aris, for all the living things that were being tortured by the mist.

The fact that Cherizal was a mage never crossed his mind. There was just too much turmoil going around up there to think about any of the details. Right now, Cherizal was just a sholder to cry on, and a sorce of confort for him. He cried with great forocity into her sholders, sure that he was ruining her robes. He couldnt stop, even if he wanted too.

"I let them die! Its all my fault! If I had been there then they would still be alive! Shadowfox, my family, all gone!" Aris shreiked in hysteria.

Aris had a one way pick to pandemonium of the mind. He couldnt stand the pain and sorrow any longer, it was tearing him up inside. He felt he was going to die with pain.

The he hear that song. The melody was wonderful. It sounded as if an angle was calling to him. Before long he realized that he had fallen alseep to the clam melody...

Cherizal noticed that Aris had fallen asleep. She didn't dare to move not wanting to wake him up, he needed to rest. She hesitated a moment, then decided to cast a spell upon him in order to make his sleep peaceful.
She hoped he wouldn't bite her head off for doing so. The effects of the spell would be gone when it was time to leave.

She stroke his hair looking at the stars and wondered why he believed it was his fault all those people had died.

Aris's cry woke the elder druid. He turned to him and Cherizal, with an eyebrow raised, "Shadowfox was a very close friend of his before he left Eaglehorn. There was plague before right before I left, and his friend was swept away in it. I myself lost all of my family but my brother, who is cheiftan in my place," His barrier cracked slightly as sorrow leaked into his voice, "Many people were lost....almost a quarter of our clan. Suddenly I think it was a prequel to this mist."

Through a seeing globe, he watched his mist. It grew, working more sucessfully then the cleric could ever imagine. He thanked his Queen graciously, then looked at the surrounding area. THe only people around were two plainsmen, a mage, and a elf. He would have no problems with that. The elf was red-robed, and the entire group was heading away from the mist. He didn't worry. The mist would catch up with them, eventually, and no one woudl believe what they said anyway. The mist would consume all of Krynn.

He had nothing to worry about.

"That's very sad, I'm very sorry" she said in a whisper and thought about her family and friends. They were not dead, but it was just the same. She would never see them again.

Cherizal listened to the conversation between Aris and Talonwing with a raised brow. She shook her head thinking of when she had been cast out of Silvanesti, of what people had shouted her while the guards were escorting her out of the country. She knew she was going to experience something that wasn't better or easier. And the pain was still so fresh that she wasn't sure she could bear so much hatred one more time.

"I honestly can't understand all this... I know what you told me why, but still... "Not safe," Aris said instantly, "Any mage who is affiliated with this mist would he known by the conclave. There are no renegade mages powerful enough to work with this mist, and as information travels you could very well be alerting the propiator of the mist as to our knowlage of the mist. "I think you're wrong, Aris. The conclave would never let a mage do something that could ruin the balance. You see, the balance is a kind of law for us. If a mage tries to do something to affect it, then the conclave will deal with him or her. And a renegade mage with the help of Takhisis can undoubtfully have the necessary power."

"Besides, I owe you. If any of them try to lay a hand on you they will have a powerful druid up their arses." Aris added, unexpectadly, blushing.

It was a big change for him, and Aris was still no where near trusting any mage. He could still barely trsut Cherizal! He was 'improving' though. Still though, he couldnt stand owing the mage anything.

Eaglehorn will treat with enough respect, at least in front of me. Know that I am sacrificing my name for you and the earthcry."

Aris knew that no one would be able to hear it without a strong connection to the earthmother, like he had Talon had.

I'm more resistant to this then you are, Skystrike, you know that. No, I dont' think we can trust them. And no, I don't like it either. I'm sacrificing my own name for this Earthcry. And perhaps YOU may not think much of that, I do.

" We really dont have much of an option do we. If we dont do anything to stop this, the the earthcry will destroy us all. Its not like our names arent worth preventing that. Anyways, Im an outcatse and your viewed as a lunatic. What are we giving up exactly."

"Do you really think that a single mage is behind this? Its too much, it feels more like there is a darker presence at work here...doesnt it?" Aris said across the winds. However, as he spoke his thought shifted to Windbreath. How was she doing now? Was she ok? Did her family get through the disaster ok? Was she still the same? Did her hardships change her?

Aris wasnt sure, but he though he might have sent his thoughts along the wind after the mesaage by mistake.

PrincessOfDarkness
09/26/2003 6:22 PM

Less lunatic then you might think. I was Cheiftan, remember? Had Eaglehorn thought me mad, Airarrow would have gotten it immediatly. But I gave it to him to come and see what this was. I think now that that was wise indeed, he is even less tolerant of magik then I am. And yes, there is a very strong presence at work here, whatever it is it wants the world destoryed, the Earthmother in ruins.

He sighed mentally. Skystrike had always been like this.......he then caught whispers, something unintentionally spoken.

How was she doing now? Was she ok? Did her family get through the disaster ok? Was she still the same? Did her hardships change her?

Dante didn't expect much from anyone; the druids didn't bother him. He would face the insults with force or ignorance. Which ever would best suit him at the time. One thing he was concerned about was the mage. How could one mage control power like that.

Flashs of the mist and screams from inside flashed through Dante's mind. He pulled a vial and drank it's contents. He grunted and shook his head. He new he would feel bad after the three days. That was enough. The gods knew she had tried to talk to these people, but they were obviously deaf.
"Blessed Lunitari, you are really a bunch of narrowminded idiots. You'd rather put the future of the world at risk than accept help from the conclave, wouldn't you? Well, do as you want, but I'm not coming with you. I will find help some other place. Aris's keen ears had picked up the conversation, and he stopped midrun. He grunted in annoyance, and screeched to a halt. He was now more annoyed now then anything else. Here they were fighting with eachother and the earthcry was a mere moments away. Aris called upon the winds and sent his message, only this time he focused it so hear that even Cherizal, with such a severed connection to the earthmother, would be able to hear at least some of it.

"We dont have time for this! We have to go now, its right behind us!"

Without giving her time to react, or caste a counter-spell, Aris called upon the earthmother and caused winds to target Cherizal. Whats wrose, was Cherizal was begining to stir, and Aris knew not how she would react to being stolen like that. They had no chance though, for if they didnt they mist would have overtaken them.

The group was close to eaglehorn now. Aris could sesne the other Nature Callers, for their strong connectiuons to nature had an aura of power about them. They were deep in the forest now, and should arrive at the camp within the hour.

There was no dought that they sensed Aris and Talongwing as well. It was also likely that they could feel the 'foul' presence of Cherizal as well...

Cherizal slowly waked with a strange feeling. She opened her eyes and realized someone, judging from his clothes, probably Talonwing, was carrying her. She closed her eyes again trying to remember what had happened. She didn't remember she had fallen asleep or got injured. Why were they carrying her?!

The last thing she could remember was arguing with Talonwing and Aris because she wanted to get the conclave involved... She was going to teleport herself to the tower... Had she failed? Then the truth hit her... Her sleep was their work. Anger, confusion, annoyance, thirst of vengeance filled her for a moment. Then all those feelings were gone again. She was empty, there was nothing left but pure, cold hate.

She didn't open her eyes again, she didn't say a word. She just pondered on the situation. Her body wasn't aching anymore, the sleep had brought new energies. She must have been sleeping for a long time. Good, that was in her favour, the guys were surely exhausted. And they could just keep carrying her.

She knew they would sense it if she tried to use her magic, so she just used a meditation tecnique. She went deep into herself and relaxed. Everybody would believe she was sleeping soundly, even if she was not. It would give her some time to think in peace and she would be able to listen unnoticed to what people said when they finally got to Eaglehorn.

Aris hopped that he would be able to get there soon, as he needed restm no matter what his body told him. The time for travel and talk was not now, but it would be a time for rest.

Windbreath had heard the word just as soon as the elders knew. There was a band of warriors approching the camp, and at least two of them were druids. Could Skystrike have returned? She shook her had, not wanting to get her hope up, and readied like the rest of the tribe for what could possibly be a problem. You see, because the elders also knew from the wards that were around the camp that at least one of the four travlers was also a hateful mage. Though Windbreath could not think of any reason why two druids and a mage would be in a party together, Windbreath knew that it was true.

Either way she was told to be ready for combat. They were close, only a few meters of the perimiter of the village.

Talonwing handed CHerizal to Airis before entering Eaglehorn. Steadying his breath, he walked to the guard.

"It is I, Talonwing."

"Cheiftan!" The man bowed, "I shall fetch your brother at once."

Seconds after the guard left, another druid with a large diving hawk on both his arms returned, "Brother!" the man shouted with a small grin, "Good to see you."

"As you, Airarrow."

Aris took Cherizal as Talon moved ahead and meet with the guard. Aris fell back into the shadows a bit next to Dante, still holding Cherizal over his sholder. Aris looked at Dante and saw that the dark elf bore the same fatigue that he himself had carried. Aris's ears picked up the conversation ahdead, and began to move forward again. It was now or never.

"I guess we better move along in then." Aris said, looking to Dante.

Aris heard many colective gasps as he steped out of the shadows and came into view. Aris had expected this comming back. As he looked upon all those waiting at the entrence, a few elders and several guards, Aris noticed many emotions present. From the elders, paticularly Talonwing's brother, he saw hate burning behind their eyes, where as in some of the guards Aris hinted contempt and surprise. Again, Aris had expected this, and was ready.

What he had not expected was to see Windbreath. She was waiting behind the guards, with a look of complete surprise upon her face. She had changed alot. Her once short blond hair was now sholder length, and a beautiful raven, and her eyes seemed to have gotten slightly bigger. They glimmered in the early morning light.

Aris was stunned. After so long he had finally come back. The question was, did she still care? As of now, she face of shock refused to tell.

Dante stepped out of the shadows as well. He was lucky most of the druids were distracted with Aris and the mage he carried or Talonwing, the chieftain. He moved behind Talonwing and spoke low,"I sugest we move on quickly. Skystrike will have to deal with his problems another time," Dante awaited Talonwing's reply.

"Its a mage!" called a druid from behind the lines fo guards and elders. As he did so, the whole group of Eaglehorn before them looked directly at Cherizal, who was still hoisted on Aris's sholders. Hate flashed across all their faces in an instant.

"What is a Hellspeaker doing here?" an elder screamed at Aris, as several druids behind him barked in a very harsh matter.

"Kill the hellspeaker!" Called one of many druids behind the elders. Aris slipped into the best defensive stance he could holding Cherizal, all the while still looking into the shock covering Windbreath's gaze.

At those words the hair on the back of Cherizal's neck raised. Her first thought was to cast a spell on all of them and run away, but she managed to control herself and didn't move, even if her body shivered in fear against her will. She sent a silent prayer to Lunitari and waited for Eaglehorn's next move.

The continued screams from the druids had finally awoke Aris and took him back to reality. He truned from Windbreath to look at the rest of the druids. As he did so his eyes blazed with fire and a strong gale pick up around them causing the trees to sway.

"You lay one had on this mage and I will maul you all to dust. I dont care how many of you there are."

After saying this Aris could not look at Windbreath. In fact, he refused to look at her, after he said such a thing.

"SILENCE!" Talonwing roared, shutting up the crowd, "This is unacceptable."

"You've lost your head, brother!" Airarrow replied vehmently, "Bringing a hellspeaker here!"

"Quiet, Airarrow! I have my reasons, and they are my own! I am cheiftan here, you'd best remembert hat! It is my title, and it was yours when I was gone! I am back now, and hence the title is mine."

"Yes, I have brought a hellspeaker into Eaglehorn, breaking a vow. For that I know of the punishment, and I will not exlude myself from it for my rank. It is for the mist. The hellspeaker is only here for a breif period, and then we will continue on. Hopefully, one of the Ei'rach will company us. They are best with such Earthcrys and problems. You will treat her with, if not repect, then neglect. I will not see any torture such as rock throwing...at all! I'm glad we have an understanding upon that."

Turning from the shocked crowd, he looked down at one specific person, Windbreath to be specific.

"Windbreath, I have heard you recently became an Ei'rach . Would you like to accompany us to remove the mist?"

"Windbreath, I have heard you recently became an Ei'rach . Would you like to accompany us to remove the mist?"

Windbreath, even now was still in total shock. So many people she had tried to cut out of her life, so many people that had left without a word... Anger was begining to boil within her vains. Aris had not been here when he was need most. Aris had not been here when Shadow died. Aris had not been here for her when she lost her family.

Windbreath turned so that her back was facing the group. This way none of them would notice that tears were streaming down her face.

"You cannot possibly expect me to make this decision lightly. Stay and rest, as I can tell you need it. Talk to me tomorrow night." Wind said, and with that she ran off.

"What is the mist?" one of the elders said looking at Talon with a look of distain, "Is that the dreadful calling we have all been hearing as of later? You have much to explain cheiftan."

"The mist is magical in nature, as suspected, and it is the source of the Earthcry. It is also at the command of a hellspeaker, as assumed and predicted. It is a terrible thing, not only killing the land but mutating the creatures as well. Elves are slightly immune as are us Druids, but over time all succumb to it...." he triailed off.

"How dare you..." A voice called over all the druids before them. Aris knew the voice, and instantly felt his entire body go cold. It was Shadowfox's father Echoscream. Aris knew that he would have to deal with this conversation sooner or later, as Talon had warned him beforehand, but Aris was certain he was not ready. The owner of the voice pushed forward through the crowd untill he was facing Aris. Emotion of the death of Shadow was still fresh within him, and fighting with his father was just not something he was ready to do, but apparently Echo thought different.

Echoscream was one of the tribes few reaming elders, and was a powerful druid. He was a sturdy man, with a heavy stock and short silver hair. His eyes were a piercing blue, and seemed to tear right into you whenever they gazed upon you. People in Eaglehorn had children early, and because of this fact, Echo was not too old. The mad was in his mid thirties about, having had his first and old son when he was only fifteen.

"How dare you come back here, after leaving like you did?" Echo said, shacking with anger.

"You know, he never told us where you went, even when we knew that he knew where you went. He didnt tell us even when we punished him for keeping the information. Did you know we have to find out what you did when we located your hidden journal under you hut?" he continued. Aris's stomach sunk about 10 inches.

"Did you know that Shadow would not have contracted the plauge that passed through here had it not been for you? If he had not been in your hut looking for things to remember you by he would not have come in contact with an animal bearing the plauge? Had it not been for you, he would not have been out of the house when he had been bitten by that animal?" He said.

Aris was on ther verg of tears. Echo was right, it was his fault...all his fault his best friend was dead, and his other best friend is no longer the person she used to be from greif. It was all his fault.....

I will see to his punishment, not yourself. My father was very leniet when it came to personal possession, it is just as much his fault for letting Shadowfox snoop through everything. Skystrike's posessions are not meant to trifled with. Even Shadowfox knew that. He knew the danger he was in."

Staring back at Airis for maybe two seconds, he sighed,d as he gain turne dback to Echo. Although the druid was older then him, their powers were about equal in strength, "I will provide the hellspeaker and Skystrike with lodging. Unless you would like too, of course."

"You seek to repremand me...?" Aris said, as if he was more bewildered then anything else. After that he had gone from sadness, to rage in two seconds. He had merely 2 moments to place Cherizal down, which he did slowly. He couldnt believe what he was hearing. They were actually trying to punish him???

"You seek to...to scold me? For...for living my own life?" Aris said, his voice, and the winds, suddenly calling up around him. It did not take too long before the winds had become a full blown typhoon in the local zone.

"I AM NOT YOURS TO REPREMAND CHEIFTAN! I AM MY OWN, AND NOT OF EAGLEHORN ANY LONGER! I AM NO LONGER IN YOUR JURISTICTION!" Aris shouted over the gale, as Cherizal's still body shifted in the heavy winds, as it about to go twisting off...

And Cherizal still hadn't got over the fact that they all thought she was under them. These kids drive me crazy Dante had two choices; he could either stay here and make sure they didn't hurt Cherizal or follow Talonwing and make sure they didn't kill each other.

Windbreath sighed in defeat when she relaized that the dark elf had fallowed her. However, she remembered her control.

Windbreath took a deep breath as the Drow was talking, considering what she were to say. In reality, she should not be revealing any of this information to him, an outsider, but inside, Wind knew that if Aris trusted him, then so should she. As he finished talk she breathed in again heavily, trying to ponder as to where she should begin.

"The druids of Eaglehorn," She began slowly after a few moments of thought, "Have no power of their own. Magic is the wrong term. Essentally, we druids are normal human mortals. What sets us appart is that through ritual and practice we have developed a connection with nature and it's command spirit. We call that spirt the earth-mother, though others refer to her as the goddess Chislev. The earth-mother is more then that though. All things nature, be it the weather, or the ants that live in the earth are of the earth-mother. By connecting with her spirit, and that which she represents, we have gained a mutual trust with her. The earth-mother allows us to use her gifts, and in return we pay homage to her in everything that we do.

It's not as if we worship her though. We see her more as a mother figure for us. She takes care of us, and teaches us what she can, and in return we live in total equilibrium with her. It is by maintaining this cycle that we remain in her favor, and may barrow her powers."

Wind pasued another moment, and then continued in a more resolute tone,
"Talonwing's family has been holding the honor of cheiftan for us since the begining. Wise and honorable sages have come generation by generation. Talonwing's father Shiverpool, had been the cheiftan before the plauge that killed so many of us off. When the deadly biel had decended upon us, Shiverpool had been one of the first to go, having scraficed himself to call about a great gale that kept many of the animals bearing the plauge away. However, it had been to late. Because of our close work with animals, far to many bad been infected before we realized what had happened. Many of us did not last the season fallowing."

"Talonwing took the throne, so to say, after the death of most of his family. He tried to get us through the hard times, but in the end he was just not the sagely type. The glove just didnt fit him well at all. Lord Talonwing realized this, and ordered his younger brother to look after his title while he went off on some mission reguarding the torment of the earth we have recently become aware of.

You see, we believe that the plauge that killed so many was a work of the Tower Magic. It is that kind of unatural power this disruts our connection with nature, and that is why we dislike it so. It is not of nature like all other things are. It is an anamoly. Hearing that this earth-cry may be caused by the same unatural powers only seems to confirm our beliefs." Windbreath said, looking around the area slowly.

"Skystrike, left before all that," Wind said slowly, "He had always been a dreamer, wanting to see the world that he had so fallen in love with durring his druatic study. When he left, it hit us all very hard. As you can see we are a very samll community, and even before the plauge we were very few in number. To see one of our own go off like that and risk our safe isolation made many people come to believe that Skystrike had betrayed us. You see we are normally forbidden to go to far off away from the village. If people were to find out about us..."

Windbreath finished abruptly, and walked off. She seemed very hurt by all this, but was outting up a strong front. In reality, she didnt want to talk about Skystrike anymore. It was just too painful.

I had thought that drow meant dark-Elf. Was I wrong?

Well tecnically it does but in the FR settings the drow are a sub-race. They have different abilities and are very different from all the other elves. However in the DL settings they are merely banished elves rather than a whole different sub-race and society. It's like the Europeans and the Asians; both are human but they have very different cultures and racial traits. I'm not trying to draw this out into a big thing I have no problem with Dante being called a drow, I just wanted clarification.

IC:

"How is he? Is he happy? Does he think of us ever?"

"He seems in good health and happy, at least aside from the recent events. And as for thinking of you, I'm sure there is not a night that goes buy where he doesn't wish to visit his homeland. The first thing he asked about when Talonwing and him meet again was what had happened at home," Dante walked away then turned back,"I see the way he looks at you, you never left his thoughts."

Dante jogged back to check in on Cherizal to make sure she didn't do anything childish. He spoke few words to her, assuring her he would be back with the two druids quickly.

He walked through the forest following the sounds of arguing. and waited for a pause before stepping in,"Excuse me but this is not the time. I think we could all use a good rest for the night then leave in the morning. Now do either of you have a better idea?"

As she continued back to her house, Winbreath felt better about this entire situation. Even with the earth-cry screaming off in the distence, Wind found she could smile.

"So he does care about me..." Windbreath said, moving forward.

Aris was not too sure what time it was when he begun back for the camp. Durring the time he had spent at his secret spot, Aris had finally been able to sort out his thoughts. The sun peeked over the trees around camp very slowly. The sky was a kind of orange red, that was always very beautiful to see in the morning. Aris had awoken early, like he always had, to watch the sun raise into the sky. Aris did not stay still for long though, as he knew that he needed to be on the move. They had warned Eaglehorn, as they had planned to, and now it was time for them to move on.

As soon as Aris had finished getting ready we went to go and wake the rest of his party. As he went through the village however, he saw that alot of them were already awake. They all eyed him with hatred.

As Aris came upon the tent where the others were to be sleeping, he saw Windbreath already waiting there. Aris almost stopped cold in his tracks. He had thought to move away, but she had seen him, and beconed him over. Aris fallowed.

"Good morning, Skystrike." Wind said, sounding rather pleasent.

"Please, dont call me that," Aris barked, "I have not gone by Skystrike since I left. My name is Aris Blackthorn."

"Really? No need to be so testy!" Windbreath laughed. Aris felt happy. To see her smile again seem to give Aris renewed strength.

"I have decided to come along with you," Windbreath said, suddenly sounding serious, "You will need me."

"But it's too..." Aris began, but he was quickly cut off.

"Dont you dare say it 'Aris'," Windbreath barked, "Im comming, weather you like it or not. Now, lets go wake the others."

With that, Windbreath walked inside, and kicked Talonwing lightly in the stomach. He had slet there because Aris had destroyed his tent earlier.

"Wake up uncle!" She laughed, kicking him lightly again.

"Do not kick me, Windbreath," Talonwing grumbled, jumping up and stretching his impressive psysique, "And do not call me your uncle. Just becuase I happen to be the one you live with dosen't mean you can."

Cracking his neck, he patted Windbreath on teh shoulder and nodded to Aris, "Have you decided to come along for the voyage, Windbreath? I assure you it will be filled with many troubles and travels, and hopefully Airarrow has not killed the mage yet."

As Aris moved forward he saw Dante and Cherizal, both apparently sleeping.

"Come on guys, we need to go soon. Get ready to leave." Aris said, shacking Cherizal and Dante both a bit.
