OOC: This thread is about a former cleric of takhisis, who ,after takhisis died, became a chaos priest. His name is Jarzasell. (mortal chars would be nice)
BIC: Jarzasell slowly climbed over the rocks. It was the dead of night, and the stars were dim. The moons were almost impossible to see. And most prominent were the two holes in the sky. The missing constellations, of the valiant warrior and the queen of darkness were what concerned him. He only had eyes for one of the holes. The hole where his queen had watched the world. Though she would never return, her influence would be felt once more. He reached the spot. A slightly flat surface partway up the cliff. He managed to find footing in front of it. the starlight shone down, and very slightly, it reflected off of it. The shape was roughly like a hand. He placed one of his hands, with his clerical meddallion on it, onto the spot. It gleamed slightly. And then nothing. Nothing.

He tilted back his head to howl his rage to the heavens, which, to him, were empty. Then a slight snick caught his attention. A small hole appeared in the rock. A beam of..shadow....shot out, and he felt darkness. Utter darkness, the darkness that he worshipped, and was. He breathed the darkness every morning, and dreamt of it every night. The darkness was his soul. he welcomed it. The beam returned, and the hole closed. A rumbling noise opened a door shaped opening in the rock. He stepped inside. He walked blindly through the corridor inside. The area widened, and he saw that he was in a room. An altar was at the other end, and the only light was som unholy light from the altar. He walked up to the altar. He placed trembling hands on the altar. He flung his head back.

He felt like he was being burned, searched, devoured, hunted. Utter darkness clawed at him. The darkness lived. Inside him. He looked down and saw something insane. Black fire from the altar was snaking up his arms, and he was on fire. Dark fire. He was pained. The darkness was painful. But pain with promise. He succumbed to it. It was his master. "Not master" a voice inside of him said. "Mistress." he came to hs senses. He looked at himself. The darkness cleared from his mind. He saw that he was covered in black ashes. He looked like a statue. With one move he shook off all the ash. He heard a voice. "Who has come to me? Has my queen need of me? I feel her prescence gone from this world."

Jarzasell straightened. "She is gone. But we must make sure that she is never forgotten. Never. " The dark armored figure moved. "Conquest. My best ability." The figure grinned. "Bring the dragons.THe queens hand is undead."

OOC: This is after the WoS, in case anyone hadn't guessed;)
IC: Dorian slowly walked up the steps to the inn of the last home. He was relieved when he reached the top. He had been walking from Kaleth, a small town about half-way between here and Palanthas. He stepped in. He went up to the bar, and got a room for the night, as well as a mug of ale and some spiced potatoes. He managed to locate a spot at the bar and sat down. A dwarf next to him looked as though he had drunk quite a bit already.

"Be ye from these parts, boy?" Dorian thought it ironic that the dwarf called him boy, when he was 114 years old. Were-wolves don't age like humans. He looked to be about twentytwo, young, to the dwarf. "I've been here alot, but i'm not from these parts. "Then ye wouldn't 'o heard of th' shadow;ard?" Dorian frowned. "Shadowlord?" "Yeah, he be some sort o dark dragonlord, and he's destroyed alot o towns already. Jaret, Koute, Ritas, all conquered. they say he can steal the soulds o the poor folks he conquers. Make 'em into some sort o' demon shadows. And then they fight for 'im. And lots an' lots o' draconians. Filthy lizard scum. They say he's planning on solace next. " Dorian wasn't pleased by the news. A highlord? He needed to know if this threat was truly as dangerous as the dwarf made it out to be......

OOC: Angel, can you tell me what you have in mind for this story? I would like to join, but it would be easier if I knew a little more :) Thanks

OOC: Well, this evil knight-demon was made by takhisis. It's got the means to bring her back to life, but it has to accumulate energy so it can do it. So it's intent on conquering the world, and killing people, turning them into shadow-demons to fight for him, and then to ressurect Takhisis in the hidden Kalasde, the cathedral of takhisis. So it's pretty basic: either they defeat the Shadowknights armies, or have takhisis return, and with all of ansalon under her hand, rule the world.EEK!!!!!

Luvhien was eating the spiced potatoes everyone praised so much. They were very tasty indeed, but he was more interested in the conversations other people were having than in his food. Other people's secrets could always be used for some purpose.

Luvhien was a man who enjoyed delicate food, good wine, beautiful women and every kind of comfort, but he could live without them for a certain period of time, well knowing that his luck surely would turn again.

He had shoulder long blonde hair, almond shaped eyes and slightly pointed ears that witnessed a bit of elven blood. His grandfather had been a dark elf from Qualinesti. His exotic features made him popular among women that he seduced and used how he pleased.
He lived a reckless life, didn't mind lying, cheating or stubbing someone in the back if that could help him achieving his goals.

Someone behind him was talking about the ShadowLord. That sounded like an interesting subject, so he turned to the man and the dwarf and said:
"I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I wanted to ask you if I can join you. I've heard of the ShadowLord, but I don't know the latest news. It sounds like he's getting more and more dangerous".

IC: The dwarf nodded blearily."That he be elf-man. " The dwarf leaned closer, and Dorian pulled back slightly. "They say that he done gonna have dragons attack solace like he did in th' ol' days. I reckon that soon, nowhere'll be safe. Apparently he's got a bunch o' dragonmen holed up there in Sanction. Figures. I heard tell by a peddler on th' road that he's taking slaves to that blasted valley, Neraka, ain' it?,and having 'em build a fortress." The dwarf leaned conspiratorily towards them. "I got it figured how he's gonna' do the conquest. Either of ya got a map?" Dorian surrendered one of his private collection.

"Thank ye lad, than ye. Now here it goes. He's holed up in Sanction right? Well theres an ol' dwarven legend, that back in th' war of th' lance, some dwarves were captured by the Highlord, and taken to sanction. After the war some returned. They said that they had been forced to work with the Theiwar(dark dwarves) and the Daergar,(The evil brawn behind the Theiwar) to dig a huge system of tunnels around all the place. They dug a huge one to Silvanesti. It was big enough that 8 draconians could march side-byside through it, and their wings wouldn't clip the walls. I say that this Shadowlord took Sanction because he knew they could use the tunnels." Dorian frowned. "If these tunnels are there, why didn't Ariakan use them in his conquest during the Chaos summer? Why didn't the knights of neraka use them?" The dwarf looked pleased with himself.

"I used to wonder that meself. Until once I asked a dwarf who had worked in the tunnels as a boy, and he said, "Because of the people down there." I said "what people?" He says "Humans have kingdoms down below. Old ones. Old as Reorx. He helped them make the tunnels down there. They ride giant bat things, and battle dirt dragons and foul creatures from the forgotten years beneath the ground. Their everywhere. They fought us off because they didn't want the highlords taking control of the over world, because they knew that after the overworld was takne, they were next.

SO I think this Shadowlord is gonna use these tunnels to establish in silvanesti, and then he's gonna take Sancrist, and Kendermore. Then he's gonna go after Solace and all of abanasinia. After tha', all thats left is Solamnia." Dorian looked amazed. "Did you tell the knights this?" "Aye lad, Aye, but they didn' believe me." He took a deep drink. Dorian shook his head. "I'd be interested in going there, just to see if the tunnels really are there. If your right, then all of ansalon will go down fast."

"I can't blame the knights for not believing that! It sounds to me like a kender tale! But if you tell the truth, dwarf, then it would be interesting to see those tunnels. There may be hidden treasures down there."
Luvhien took a sip of his wine thinking of the tunnels and what he might find there. Maybe he could become a very rich man. A smiled crossed his face.
"What do you think? Should we go and have a look?"

A shapley red haired woman walked up to the table, her hair parted in the middle of her forehead. Her eyes were a deep blue, almost purple, and she wore a lose fitting white shirt, complimented with a short red leather skirt. She laughed as she stood at the head of thier table, her hands palm down on the cool wooden surface.
"Well really that depends on what use you have for those people. I for one wouldn't advise it. Those tunnels are perilous.. My partner died before we even made it to the first city." She glanced to the dwarf, and then back to the blonde haired man. Without caring if they were in the least interested she began here tale.
"We were searching for relic's of enormous power to resurect the god of white, Paladine. Our search for these rare talisman lead us to the tunnels that spidered out around Sanction.. We had entered the first of many tunnels when a sudden rock slide fell upon my poor unfortunate partner." Her eyes registered a hint of mock sadness.
"Needless to say I left as quickly as I could." She glanced at the two, and waiving her hand brought a chair to her side.
"My name is Miranda. I am orginally schooled as a red mage, but have since learned a few more-" She paused for a moment, as if to thnk of an appropriate word. "Usefull skills." Her eyes lit with the spark of magic power.
"If you are headed that way, I'm sure You'll need some magical assistance."

OOC: Welcome, Krakcah!

IC: Dorian regarded the elf. "I would probably be more interested in investigating the tunnels to help people, but a little bit of money thrown in would be a definite bonus." He listened to the red-haired woman's story. the dwarf intterupted Dorian. "Lss, the people control them tunnels, or so tis said. They probably didn' want ya down there." he looked at them all. "If we is gonna do this, I'd reccommend we figure out our course of action, and then get what we're gonna ned tomorrow, and set off tomorrow. We need ta' look at this." He pulled out of his pack a huge dusty book, ancient from the look of it.

"Tis a book I found in palanthas. Apparently some feller' collected it. Tis' accounts of folk as have gone down there and seen the people down there. It's written in loads of languages. I could read some of the elven, and most of the dwarven, and human, but some languages I've ne'er seen afore in me life." He went over to a table by the firepit and plunked down. Dorian sat beside. "Like here." he pointed to a page written in flowing, but vaguely sinister-looking script. Dorians expression darkened. "I know exactly what it is. The language of th cursed ones." he began flipping pages. "Miranda, isit? This looks to be the language of magic. I can't read it. Luthvien(is that right??????) have you seen that kind of elvish just below it?"

OOC: Thanks angel :) How bout responding to some other threads? :P Im BOORED.

IC: Miranda squinted at the small passage. She smirked, her lips spreading into a cold smile,
"It is the language of Magic. Infact it's a spell of teleportation.. Wouldn't have worked a few years back, but now with the moons back in thier places, It shouldn't be to difficult. Strange thing is it invokes the power of all three of the god's together and totally omits the caster. . .
Anyone can cast it, but all three gods of magic have to agree to favor the person with thier powers. Not an easy task at all..
The other alternative is to have the head of each order cast thier part of the spell, which is what I'm assuming was what they had in mind. . And I am most certainly not going to co-opperate with the heads of the conclave, dead or otherwise." She folded her arms.
"Anything else?"

OOC: I was bored, so I figured I'd do some background on Miranda.

Ic: She leaned back, closing her eyes for a moment. It seemed like yesterday she had been in the tomb of knowledge, where she and her parner had discovered the relics powerful enough to revive a god. Obviously Paladine had not died, but no one had caught her in her lie. The only dead god was her goddess. The queen of the blessed night. The one she still drew her power from.
Her partner had been to ambitious, seeking to much power. He wanted to use the relics for his own good.
Her queen was all that mattered. He had to be disposed of. She had done her queen's will.
And now these humans would help her retrieve the last part of the spell.
She grinned wickedly. One hundred years ago she had been reborn into something less than holy. One hundred years ago, she had been sworn to a dark goddess, to a cycle of evil deeds that would never come back to haunt her. Evil deeds that had gone unnoticed.
She cherished these memories.
Her lips parted in a cold smile, something that was almost never seen to mar her cold stone looks.

OOC: Evil b*tch alert! Great post krackah!
BIC:Dorian was apprehensive. A spell ? Why was it in a collection of accounts? He shook his head. No point in worrying too much. He needed to focus on the matter at hand. "Are there any maps that could help us, ...?" He asked the dwarf. "Me name 'tis Kagore Coalfire. And yes there be maps in here. " he flipped to a page with intricate drawings , labeled in elvish. Dorians eyes widened. "Lucanesti elven? Interesting." he examined it. "Kagore, do you know where the entrance is?" The dwarf flipped to another map. "Thar. I been there. A huge cave entrance, ringed with rock columns is in the very last and deepest shaft." He pointed on the map. "There" Dorian examined it. "The mostimportant part would be to find out if the Shadowlord has any troops down there, as of yet."

He turned to Miranada. "If you've been down there before, you may be able to help us find our way. When you where down there, did you see any of the natives?"

09/05/2003 12:36 AM

IC: Miranda stopped for a second, as if in deep thought. The truth was she had killed anything she had seen in her path, native or otherwise, but she couldn't let them know.
"No.. I didn't see any. I did however have the constant feeling of being watched..." She waited a second for a response and then went on.]

"I believe the entrance to one of the branches of the caves is around here somewhere. At least that's where I popped out of.." She blinked twice. "I could be wrong, but I don't think the spell guarding the entrance was that powerful. Just a small illusion created by one of the red robes.."

Luvhien had been quiet for a while. That was rather unusual for him, but since the redhaired girl had joined them at their table, he had done nothing but stare at her. "And, my enchanting lady, what do you suggest we do?"

Avenging_Angel
09/05/2003 8:03 AM

IC: Dorian noticed Luvhien staring at Miranda. He almost laughed. He decided that Miranda was worthy of trust:most magic-users, who could have detected him as a were-wolf almost immediately, she didn't say anything. Trust was obvious. He frowned. "A spell? Why the helll would the red-robes have a spell guarding the cave?" he turned to Kagore. " Was this entrance made on purpose? Or was it an accident?" kagore brightne. "It says tha' it was an accident. They was mining 'neath the city, and there was a collapse. and the entrance opened up.

In lot's 'o the other tales, they speak of a huge rock, shaped like the head o' a fanged skull, and th' mouth twas' the cave entrance. those were supposed to be magic." Dorian suddenly asked Luvhien, "Have you ever heard the story of the dark-elf that "the earth swallowed"? It's an old legend about a wandering dark elf, who was walking near Neraka, and the earth appeared as a giant skull and swallowed him? Maybe that was one of theses..entrances. Do you know the full story?"

"I have not heard of this tale either. Please enlighten us."

"What do YOU think Luvhien?"

"What I think... You say you want to go, then I'll go with you. You may need me, or my company... or my services... Who knows... I am a gentelman after all" Luvhien smiled at Miranda. He looked like an hungry wolf.

Miranda smiled, leaning in even closer to Luvhien.
"My dear, you look like a hungry wolf." She sat back and laughed, throwing her head back in the process. Her shirt pulled tight revealing more of her female figure. Her laughing stopped abrubptly.
"Now, down to buisness. We have until the end of the evening to find the entrance to the cave, otherwise the red mages spell will start again until the next full moon. We need to go now... My things are up stairs... I will leave you gentlemen to get yours." She turned on one heel, heading towards the stairs of the inn.

Humans were so foolish, especially of the male variety. Miranda smiled, as she packed her few belongings. She had the one already, and the rest would be soon to follow. More followers for her God. Her mother.. Her..

OOC: Krackah, Luvhien's a dark elf. In fact, there aren't any humans with her. Kagore's a dwarf, Luvhiens an elf, and Dorians a were-wolf. Just saying:D
BIC: Dorian noticed that the man Luvhien was obviously head over heels for the woman Miranda. "Anyway, Kagore, Miranda, what sort of supplies are we going to be needing, besides the normal, food, water, camping gear?" How can we be at that entrance in so quickly? I guess the girl intend to magick us there... If she can do that, then she must be very powerful. I'd better watch out. But it's a good thing they believe me an idiot. They won't care much about what I do.

BIC: Dorian said "It's late. We're going to have a big day tomorrow, so we all best turn in. " He mounted the stairs, and went to his room, and flung himself on the bed.
Kagore yawned. Reorx's beard but he was tired! He trudged to the door of his room, and lovingly laid the book in his pack, and went to sleep.

--------------------------------------------------------Shadowknight

Jarzasell was sitiing on his dragon, a red named Sparkflame. Shadowknight was on his red, a huge former favorite of the queen's. It was named Shadowflame. THe force of dragons and knights was on top of the ridge, camped to overlook the village that they would take in the morning. The queens hand was growing, as was the power to revive her. OOC: Can do, krackah.
BIC: Dorian was sleeping peacefully. But the dream found him.

He was running his hands through the tall grass, walking along, peacefully. He saw children yelling and running, at play in the tall grass. He felt whole, and for once, alone in his mind. He kept walking along the path, and saw a little village, not far away. He headed for it. Just beyond the stand of trees, there it was. Then he turned the corner, and nearly screamed in horro. The village was buning, and there were huge wolves running around, gnawing on scorched bodies, and chasing children that fled shrieking into the tall gras, where more wolves lurked. He was horrified. Then a large brute of the were-wolves, a big black one, lunged on him, and pinned him. It bit his arm, and as he yelled in pain, he saw that the eyes were black and red like his own........

Dorian sat up in bed, sweating. He was tangled up in the sheets, and gasping for breath. He got out of bed, and found a shirt. He noticed that it was light outside already, and went downstairs. He grabbed a piece of bread, and saw Miranda was up already. He gave a wolfish grin, and said "We'll be getting supplies today. You can start geting provisions, if you like." He went up again, and knocked on Kagore's door. No answer. Frowning, he pulled it open. the dwarf was still sleeping off the dwarf spirits from the night before. He Picked up a handy pillow from a chair and threw it at the dwarf. A groan answered him as the dwarf rolled over. "time that your up." He said, and noticing a glass of water, dumped it on the dwarf. A furious roar met his attempt, and the dwarf sat up. "Lad, what be ye think ye're doing??????!!!!" He yelled. Dorian smiled. "Using an old rousing trick that a dwarf taught me. Time to get up." He left the spluttering dwarf behind, and went back downstairs.

Miranda was already awake and sitting down in the now deserted resturaunte sipping a cup of tea from a dingy chipped cup. She nodded briefly to Dorian and the dwarf, and turned back to the book she was studying.

________JUMP AHEAD________

Dorian was walking out of the inn, and standing in the stable. Kagore was already waiting for him, and on his horse. A sudden explosion burst outside. Dorian ran back out. "What the devil's goin' on out there, lad?" Kagore asked impatiently. Dorian smiled. "Just dragons attacking." Dorian pelted back indies, and got on the horse. "we have to get out of here NOW!" he yelled, and rode out with Kagore and the rest behind.

"We need to go now... I left Luthvien a map.. I only can hope he will catch up with us." Pulling herself up ontop of the horse, she began to gallop, finally catching up to Kagore and Dorian.

IC: Dorian stopped for a minute, and looked back at the village that he knew would soon be in flames. For a moment he toyed with the idea of going back. The dwarf obviously knew things that others did not, and rested a hand on the were-wolf's shoulder. "It would be no help if you went back, lad. You'd just be another smoking corpse among many. One man can't stop an army. The best thing you can do for those people back there is go to Sanction and find out what that mad man is planning next."

For a moment Dorian regretted the long lifespan of his people, the lifespan that had shown him the rise of Istar, the Cataclysm, the War of The Lance, The Chaos Summer, And the War of souls. But Kagore was right: there was nothing he could do. Dorian turned his horse around, and followed Miranda. "Let's go then!!" he yelled, spurring his horse to a gallop. He looked over his shoulder one last time, and saw a huge black-armored figure on an enormous red-dragon swoop down over the village, like a grinning death.....

"It lookslike we got out of there just in time. I do hope Luthvien made it out alive."
She reared her horse around to watch the carnage. Her queen would be quite pleased had she still been alive. She glanced back to Dorian.
"The cae is about half a days ride from here. We best start moving.." It was then she saw the red dragon swoop down over the village. her breath caught in her throat.
"I... We have to go... NOW!" She shouted, forcing her horse to full speed.

OOC: CURSES! My threads will not go to the second page!;):D:D
BIC: Dorian galloped along, and could hear Kagore puffing and wheezing along behind them.

--------------------------------Jump ahead!
Dorian's horse was going at a swift canter now, he was in the lead. As he rode along, they went by an overhanging tree. He heard a noise, and rested on hand on his sword. The woods exploded, and a mix of draconians and goblins burst out. He drew his sword, and swung, beheading a Bozak. With a quick twist of his falchion, a goblin lost it's arm and fell to the ground howling. Kagore had his warhammer out and was bashing any skulls within reach.

OOC: They can't ride away right after thwey kill all the goblin/draconians, because they're going to find T'han Quickpak. When they get to Sanction, can they find Ronin from Sea-War? None of them know him, and he's a good char.

IC: Miranda smiled at her choice of companions. She applauded softly.
"Very nice. Reminds me of someone I used to know."

-Sanction-

The brimstone stunk. Rancidly. It was times like these he wished those damned knights of Neraka would just piss off. After the elves had captured him, he had been brought back to sanction, taken from the Kender and the woman Adrien. for all he knew the sea war was still raging. Ronin sighed.
He missed the sea, Adrien, and even that damndable Kender. He blushed as Adrien's name entered his head.
He hadn;t felt like that when they were together. He sighed again, looking around his dank and dull prison cel.
He guessed distance made the heart grow fonder.

IC: Dorian turned as he heard a small noise in the trees. He scrambled up the slope, and in a small hollow, he found the band's camp. It wasn't much, bit's of bones and a charred sticks laying around. Shoved against a log, he noiced a sack was wiggling. He fronwed, and kneeled. He undid the top, and a kender with brownish hair crawled out. It rubbed it's wrist, and then recognition dawned on it's face. "Dorian! How nice to see you! Remember me??? T'han Quickpak!" Dorian's face darkened at the memory of sklipping out of the inn to get rid of a kender that was following him. "I remember."

MIranda sighed. A Kender. Of all the things the gods could toss at her, a Kender had to be one of them. Uttering a small prayer of protection she walked up to the Kender and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Kender, I don't mind you following us.. But do not under any circumstances touch these pouches. If you do the dark queen herself will fly down and eat you whole."

The dark gates of Sanction beckoned ominously to the four travelers, like a dead and blackened hand that swept up everything that came down the road. Dorian pulled his horse up. "Miranda, where do we go once we're in?" He asked.

"Well, I left a map just on the inside. So we'll know once we get there. If I recall correctly however sanction is about a three days walk south west from here using the caves.." She turned back to the Kender.
"yes, the real queen of Darkness. I hear she was just fooling blessed Paladine, and has been secretly terrorizing small villages of Kender."

IC: Dorian hid a small laugh as the kender's eyes widened in horror. "Someone should stop her, shouldn't they!?" He turned to Dorian, who was shakign so hard with silent laughter that he routed the kender to Kagore. Kagore faced the kender. "Don't worry laddie: Reorx'll keep the kender from harm." The kender's tears vanished. " I was thinking someone more mortal, like the Solamnic knights?" Dorian managed to get out a "I'm sure they will." before he burst into laughter.

Dorian turned to Miranda. "We have to get inside first. We can't exactly waltz up to the gates and say, "Would you let us in, pretty please?". Unless the kender has a magic idea, how do we get in." Suddenly Dorian's glance caught sight of a small, wooden door by the base of the wall, a ways away, in a grove of ancient oaks. a plan began to form in his mind. "On the other hand................"

IC: Jana leaned herself comfortably against the tree, in a cross legged position underneatht he boughs of the broad tree. It was such a beautifyl day, such loveliness, so much in contrast to those death seekers in sanction, she thought with distaste eviden on her plain face. She noticed a group of travelers below her..
a dwarf, a kender, an elf, and a human
interesting... she thought, her curious eyes peering at them from above, the hill.

OOC:
[marquee] welcome, erylaen![/marquee]

Well, the current chars are
Kagore, a dwarf
Dorian, a were-wolf
Miranda, I believe is human
T'han, a kender

Basically their all on a quest to find a huge labyrinth of tunnels that start at Sanction and supposedly lead all over Ansalon. An evil force is conquering ansalon, and Kagore believes that he's going to try and use these tunnels to surprise everybody and take all the dwarven kingdoms.

Miranda has a connection with takhisis which Krackah'll have to explain. Dorian's going because he doesn't want ansalon to fall under the rule of the Shadowknight, and T'han's, "along for the fun". What they learned was that the tunnels were made during the war of the lance and that they were not used, because it turned out that the caves and underground passages beneath ansalon were already occupied.

Right now, they're trying to get into sanction. They can meet up with Jana easily.

She glanced to the Kender, making sure he hadn't toucher her pouches.
"I believe the entrance to the cave is right around here." She said, a little louder than usual. "The treasure we spoke of earlier will most certainly be right inside."

A treasure! Jana thought excitedly. This treasure they spoke of would surely be a treasure fit for a king. If she could manage to get a hand on it, maybe just maybe…no, she tried to push the tempting thought away from her mind, but then was revisited with such a ridiculous idea after a moment of hesitation…maybe she could indeed retire?

Dorian sniffed. He smelled a human female. Of course, Miranda was acting weird because someone was listening. "I still think we should try the door."

At this point, T'han understood few things, except "door". He looked down and recognized it. "Oh, that door!!" he said excitedly. "Don't worry it's quite safe. I've used it before. It's part of an abandoned section of the wall, andthey only use the top. C'mon!" he cried, and ran towards it. Dorian raised his eyebrows, and shaking his head, took the packs off his horse, and followed the kender, and Kagore followed suit, Dorian noticing the young woman in the trees, but keeping silent.

Hopefully it should stay that way until she could snatch that precious something out of their hands. ANd they would be doing most of the dirty work...her lips drew into a wicked grin...all she would be doing is to pluck it and bag it, then its off to luxury...to the great city of palanthas to the riches of a new wonderful life...

Then her mother's voice whispered across her mind...don't start be counting coins that aren't in front of ye...

"Unless you plan on joining our expedition I would advise you not to mess with this group. I have a use for them, and they will do me no good hurt." Her eyes flashed a deep purple, and then returned to thier normal color. She stood stoicly, awaiting a response.

What made her even more afraid was the way the woman’s eyes shifted colors… bad idea…very bad idea of mess with these people…she quietly reprimanded herself…But if she could join their group andtry to gain their trust, maybe that goal she had had might actually still come true.
With forceful confidence, she repeated, “Yes, I’ll come along, you and your friends will not regret it.”

They had already gotten the door open. Jana meekly followed them into the tunnel and was met with a horrible smell and terrifying darkness. She gave a quick glance back at the entrance when they advanced further in…almost regretting her decision. "Walk girl." She whispered into her ear, venom dripping from her tone.
"And smile... you're in the home of the great Tahkisis now."

The stench of sulfer whipped into his eyes like the smell of freshly cut onions, bringing stinging tears to his eyes. The airborn irritants hurt like the abyss, and frankly he was sick of it.
The chain tied around his ankle pulled like his worry for his friends. Eventually he would have to get back to them.
A draconian eyed Ronin suspiciously, and muttered something in it's gutteral tounge about getting back to work.
He was amongst the prisoners of Neraka, mining for fossilized dragon eggs that could be fertalized by a male sea dragon to produce a sea born draconian.
He had to shut this operation now.
Adrien would have his head if he didn't. A fresh gust of wind cut down into the firey pit he was working in.
Someone had just entered Neraka.

Dorian entered Sanction through the door calmly. He noticed Miranda jabbing the woman in the back. He gently pulled her arm away. "No need for that."he said coolly to Miranda.

-----------------------------------
T'han skipped up to the woman, topknot and hoopak swinging. "Hi! My name's T'han Quickpak! But my friends call me T'han for short, and you can too. Isn't this great? Of course, I'm just along for the fun, but I've known Dorian for a long time, and I like Kagore, the dwarf, even though I just met him!. Mirand said she tried to bring back Paladine, and I thought that was awfully nice don't you think? I mean, if I was a god, then I would want to be brought back, wouldn't you ?"

----------------------

Kagore liked the tunnel. It was good solid stonework, and reminded him of his home in Thorbadin. He heard Dorian's voice, and then the kender's high one, which prattled on and on. He shook his head and took another swig from the flask. He leaned against one of the many stone objects that were abundant, and waited for the others. He ran his hands over the stone and smiled. Could it be a statue? he wanted a closer look and it, and lit a match. It was a perfectly preserved statue of a human male, normal looking, standing and howling in terror. At the base were emerald green scales.

Only one thing could do this, and as a dwarf he knew the signs well. "Run for it! 'Tis a basilisk down here!!" and ran back s hard as his legs could go.

--------------------------------
Dorian ran down the tunnel, Kagore's cry ringing in his ears. He reached the door, andslammed against it. Nothing. It was sealed. He cursed, and went back to the group. Kagore was shaking. Suddenly, what Dorian had been dreading happened: he heard the slide of scales on stone, and saw the movement in the shadows as the giant green snake came into view. He drew hs sword.......

10/22/2003 3:12 PM

Jana rubbed the area where Miranda had jab her. She didn't say anything, but continued to follow them obediently further into the tunnel.

Then to her misfortuen, a kender hopped up to her and began to speak to her in a cheery tune that she immediately winced.

Jana groaned...of all things a kender was talking to her! She wanted to shout for him to shut up but she didn't want to risk any further alienation from her action. It was bad that the others had ignored her yet kept her under careful scrutiny, but it would be even worse if she was totally alone in the group, completely isolated yet traveling with them. Even if it was a kender keeping her company.

Then all of a sudden somone shouted "Basilisk!"
Everyone started running and Jana followed. A massive snake suddenly lurked into view. She shriek, flailing to get her short dagger from her sheathe, but someone couldn't mangage to get it out.

Everything was happening so fast, she saw Dorian leap at the snake and then...and then...everyhting seemed to disappear. Jana could feel herself falling, falling into darkness.

"I should have known Sargas wouldn't have given up control so easily.." She muttered, rolling her eyes.
"Quickly, back to the surface!" She shouted. In her current condistion she dare not try to cast any magic. Especially none that woudl draw the basalisks attention.
Stopping her eyes widened as an idea came to her. Grasping the pendant from her pocket she whispered a few words, attemtping a warding spell.
"Creature of Darkness.. Begone!" she shouted, casting her hand out toward the creature.
It was still moving.
"Was worth a shot.." She muttered as she began to run amongst the others.

Dorian jumped onto the back of the venom green snake, avoiding it's stare, which could turn anything into stone. He raised his sword, and brought it down hard in a chopping motion. THe blade bounced off, leaving a dent, and the snake even more deadly and infuriated. Like dragon scales. Too bad we don't have any lances.....

----------------------------------------------------------------

T'han heard lot's of yells and then he was running with Kagore. Suddenly he ran into a stone wall. "This is it, lad. We're trapped for the beast. He heard a noise, and saw Dorian on the huge green snake, hitting it with his sword. He had a strange, burning desire to see it's face. The snake heard him and quieted. Kagore drew his axe. Dorian went flying, and hit the stone wall, and slid to the ground. Kagore raised his axe. "By Reorx you great snake! Face me ye' coward!"

T'han pulled out his hoopak, and the snake faced him. He heard a cry of don't look into the eyes, and covered his face, but too late. THe image of the bright, bulbous yellow eyes seemed to burn into him. Then he couldn't see anything. He heard a dwarven war cry, and the clash of metal on scales,a bellow from the serpent, and then nothing.

Shadows quickly engulfed the corridors, as no hint of sunshine became any longer apparent. Jana’s light foot padded along the hallway, searching for a way to escape.
“Hello!” She cried. “Hello?!”
The only sound that greeted her was her own echo.
She continued to walk desperately down the corridor, her breathing heavy.
Where was she? How did she get here….? Just when another question was on the verge of assailing her mind, a clanging behind her made her jump around in fright.
A silver spoon was lying there on the floor, seeming to emit a silver aura. How did it get there, she wondered walking towards it. She picked it up to examine it but bit back a cry as it came alive, twisting in her hand.
She tried to drop it, but it wouldn’t let go, but kept writhing, the silver spoon twisting and turning as in agony as she watched in horror. The handle only stuck to her skin as if it was glued.
She could feel the taste of her own blood at where she had bit her lip, but she didn’t care.
Her breath was now coming out in harsh gasps. She continued to stare at it, and suddenly there appeared on the spoon two dark slits. With timid prudence she brought it a bit closer to see what it was and her heart almost burst. The slits opened and now dark yellow eyes aimed straight at her.
She couldn’t hold it back any longer. She screamed.

"I see you're ok." he said, blinking at the sudden brightness of Miranda's light. Suddenly, it shone on an a statue, which hadn't been there before, a statue which had a stone hammer in the middle of the dead basilisk's forehead. "Kagore." he said softly. "Merciful Paladine." the stone dwarf had a look of rage on his face, and Dorian became aware of another thing, at the dwarf's feet.

The kender lay on the dwarf's stoney shoes, curled up. He rolled th ekender over, and T'han stirred, moaning. DOrian sucked in his breath. THe basisk had blinded the kender and killed the dwrf. They were shaved down to 4, one a cripple...

"I'll explain it all later. There's no Draconions out there are there?"

"I'll explain it all later. There's no Draconions out there are there?"

Dorian snorted. "No. How would I have gotten in here without a fight if there were." He glanced over there slightly pitiful trio, Jess hanging in the air with Miranda's spell, all of them looking worse for the fight with the snake.

An old friend of hers..

"As am I. It's been a long time, though, but her bizarre ability for getting out of tight spots would be welcome now.

y name is Ronin.. Can you get me out of

Dorian nodded, and studied the lock. He frowned: it was a numerical one, simply made, but hard to pick. He then noticed the hinges of the door were rusty. Very rusty. He hesitantly jerked on the door, and the hinges suddenly writhed and twisted. Another hard jerk, and they broke. "Come quickly, .....Ronin."

Ronin wakled out with a dwarf breathing in his first breath of fresh air in what seemed to be a life time..

Well maybe not so fresh, as they were still in Neraka(?).. But all the same it was a breath of freedom.

miranda spied the new man that had followed Dorian back. "Wonderful.. another peasant." She whispered. "Can we please get moving along? I don't want to end up with Draconian blood all over my new blouse.."

Neraka(?)..

Dorian smiled. " "Another"? Why Miranda, I never would have guessed. You don't look it."

M iranda shot a glare as icy as the deapths of the abyss to the dwarf.
"My dear friend, I was insinuating YOU were the peasant. I happen to come from a family of great wealth." She smiled cooly. "But enough of this. We have to move on!"

Ronin blinked and glanced to the dwarf. "Where'd you pick this one up at? A looney bin?"

Where'd you pick this one up at? A looney bin?"

Dorian snorted. "Almost as bad. An inn."

*JUMP AHEAD*

Dorian looked down the tunnel. Theyhad just snuck past the parts of the tunnel that was still used. There was a sort of metal gate between the sections, but so rusty that it had nearly crumbled at a touch.

"Well, this is it."

Spiderwebs flapped dismally as a sort of foul breeze from the depths, bearing the stench of rot and the scent of dirt.

Dorian blinked as a few pieces of stinging grit swept into his eyes.

T'han, greatly revived by Dorian producing a flask of Palanthian whiskey from his pack, grinned cheerfully, and hiked the pack on his back up slightly higher, and marched off down the tunnel, swinging his hoopak, and singing cheerialy.

Dorian glanced at Miranda and Ronin, and, with a shrug, set off down the tunnel, T'han's high voice reaching him.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee'reee

Off to save Ansalon!
The most wonderful
continent of Ansalon!
We hear it is, it is,
in most greatest peril,
because, because, because
becauuuuuuuseee!

Because of the evil

Miranda groaned and plugged her ears, half tempted to send a mute spell after the singing creature. She rolled her eyes at ronin, who seemed not to be paying attention. he was a strange one..

Ronin was secretly analyzing the woman walking next to him. Her very aura craklced with power, and yet in body she seemed to be frail. He supposed most mages were like that.. much like Adrien in that regard. But this womans soul was tainted.. he could feel it.

"Dorian.. where exactly are you all headed?" Ronin asked, hoping it would some how get him to Adrien faster, and losing hope quickly.

Dorian sighed.

"There's a new representative of our old friend DragonQueen trying to take over Ansalon." He began, falling into step with ronin.

"With the help of a dwarf named Kagore, we found out that Ariakus had an enormous series of tunnels dug all through Ansalon, based in Sanction, so he could invade easily and quickily. However, he found out the the dwellers underneath the ground weren't very friendly, and he was forced to turn back. This general, the Shadowknight, is planning to use these tunnels, and invade Ansalon. He has found a way to neutralize the underground dwellers, and we're here to find out if the tunnels exist, how he is going to invade, and try and stop him."

Ronin got the deffinate impression tah dorian was sick of telling the tale.
He felt as if he had been thrown out of the frying pan and into the fire. Shaking his head, he sighed too.

"I was brought here by a group of sea elves that are planning on taking over all of Krynn. wonderful world we live in huh?" He asked.

Miranda smiled gently at the dwarf, although it wasn't a smile meant for him, but for her queen. It was true the Dragon Queen had a new represenative on Earth, but it wasn't the shadow knight... She smiled inwardly to herself.

Oh no.. Krynn had a much bigger problem to deal with.

ronin snorted. "Probably. I know thats what happened to mine!" He exclaimed, recalling the dragon that had suddenly surfaced infront of his ship. That seemed like such a long time ago... He shook his head sullenly, as a tear fought to break lose from his eyes.

He shook his head. "Sorry.." He whispered.

Well, this is it. I've been afraid that this would happen for a long time, but i realize that I've only been vainly attempting to stave fof death.

Frankly, this thread isdead. It was an iteresting idea, but now that I look over the plot more and more, the less and less sense it makes. I was a tad desperate when I posted this, yes. Desperate posts never get anyone anywhere.

So, with great grief, I must say: Farewell, Shadowknight.

OOC: Mindless, chaotic, errant rambles...SO WHAT! At least its going, that's good(check out my last thread, bah)
And since i fail to thoroughly read those successive posts after mine...here i'll start...

BIC: With waht great force that hailed her in the air, her simple mind could not conceive. The mage's powers had slowly waned, whether it was from neglect or from environmental obstruction, ery (Jess, Jana, idon't care, let's stick with ery if it's no bother) fell with a heavy thud, producing a good amount of dust in the air, prevalently entering her companion's nostrils.
"Well, thank you so much for that wonderful floatation spell," she said her voice laced with inconsiderate sarcasm, as she dust her rear from the dirt that had eagerly clinged to her.

"Hmm, you two have no idea what it is you're doing, huh? Shades, a kender's companyw ould be much preferable then."

OOC: Just my excuse or explanation for the time i went MIA.
I died of exhaustion from my social/school busyness before i could have a chance to palce my fingers on the keyboard, other than school related.

Had too much of a good vacationto reply promplty.

Now, I probably won't be replying to the forum as soon as i hope after this because-- the excuse is the same as the former.
