(I know, I know; those of you who know me are thinking 'where the frick have you been?!' and those of you who don't are thinking 'who the frick are you?!' Well, I am TolkaninFaznin, and I have been (and still am) in college. But I miss the DLRPGs, which is why I'm back! Now, I just spent the last 20-some minutes (yay ethernet) cruising through old threads, wondering what the shiznit happened, and decided that, instead of trying to resurrect anyo f my most favored characters, I'd come up with a new one. So, here goes! Just pop in whenever, this story has not starting plot, I just let my strain of concious lead me. :-))

Zanadie hefted the pack over her shoulder once more, taking a last look at the house she had called home for the past few years. What had once been a signal of a happy place, with its bright green shutters and happy lit windows, was now a nightmarish place to her; the paint was peeling, the shutters loose from one hinge or another, the windows rarely anything more than a smudged grey from the mixture of grime, dirt, mud, and a weak candle from the inside.

She could tell that not even the candles were lit; the house was as dark as a graveyard, and as quiet. Inside, she had left her husband in the drunken stupor he had been quite familiar to take late at night. The bruises on her arms and back told her that leaving him asleep was the best choice.

She did not wince when she adjusted the pack, which held a few clothes, some food provisions, and her most prized possession; a hair clasp given to her, in a time long ago and in the hazy, almost dream-like section of her memory. She wondered at times if the clasp hadn't been stolen by her, as the one who had given it to her was beyond the grasp of her mind's eye. She remembered only three things; that he was tall, and dark, and that he smelled strongly of herbs: spell components in particular, she would learn over time.

Her mission was not to find that man. That, she knew, was impossible, but to keep this one happy memory to speed her on from far more unpleasant things.

Someone who saw her from afar would see a young woman made old by rough work and rough treatment. Her dirty blond hair was disheveled, her fair face marred by grime, a small scar by her right eye, and a welt on her forehead half-hidden by hair. Her clothes were simple and worn, threadbare in places and torn in others, her cloak nothing more than a modified bedsheet. Her shoes were naught much more protection than barefeet. But though her whole appearance was not one to please the eye, she still held herself with a dignity and elegance that could not be expressed by words. Zanadie's spirit was far more durable than her corporeal body, and though even the most learned scholars knew it was impossible, she was said by some to have the heart of a dragon.

And it was with this strength of mind and spirit that she struck out into the unknown, unsure of what it would bring, but with an undeniable certainty that whatever the world held instore for her, it was far better than what she had been subjected to.

As a teen, Bosh was fascinated with throwing daggers and entered many competitions. One day, after he won a local tournament, one of his friends made the comment...

"You'd make one sick mage bro!"

This put the idea of taking the test into Bosh's head when he was 20. He began reading about magic and studying the art. He found it farely interesting, but realized one had to be extremely dedicated to it. When Bosh was 24 he took the test and managed to pass. The heads of the robes said he did not care for magic and passed with luck.

At the age of 26, Bosh was a nomad, traveling around with different hunting parties. He wore the red robes, though he did not understand what the difference was. He knew simple spells, but did not desire as much further power as other mages do. The Conclave saw Bosh as an insult and an embarassement to mages everywhere. The only one who liked him at all was Dunbar, the head of the white robes. He saw a lot of Bosh in himself, both had more interests than magic. However, the other mages of the conclave said he didnt take magic seriously, it was just a game to him.

Now, Bosh works a little on magic as well as his body and keeps himself in descent shape. Bosh has joined many different groups of men and hunted down goblins and draconians. He was very helpful, mixing magic with his skill with a dagger. He could cast spells at the enemy from afar and when they got close, he could hold his own with his daggers. He also threw his daggers very skillfully. However, the groups always found him a bit odd. They told him to grow up and take life more seriously. Bosh is known to joke around and live life for fun. Many say it seems he has the blood of a kender somewhere in him. When he fights, he gets serious, so the groups never saw it as much of a problem other then during dinner or rest time.

It was morning now and he was accompanying a goblin hunting party. A big bearded warrior with an axe on his back was making a fire for breakfast. The six other fighters were getting out of their tents and putting on there armor. Bosh got out of his tent and rubbed his eyes. He was wearing a white button down shirt and brown pants. He had a red cape over his shoulders that went down to his waste.

Bosh stretched and fixed his blond hair that went down to his chin. He put it into a small ponytail behind his head. Around his waste, he wore a belt with four finely designed daggers on it. He had a small pouch of spell components as well. He scratched his light colored beard and walked up to the big warrior tending the fire.

"So whats the schedule for today Vick? Your not gonna eat all that bacon are you?" Bosh asked the big man. The man rose and laughed underneath his bushy beard.

"Will you ever grow up Bosh? Corwin went out this morning and said he found fresh goblin tracks in the mud. We should be on extra alert on our trek this morning." Vick said in his deep rumbly voice.

The group had breakfast and then they packed up and began walking through the forest. Bosh was in the middle of the seven fighters, Vick taking the front. They put him there for protection, since he had no armor and could not fight as well as the others.

They stopped and stood silently. Vick told them to hush and pointed through the tree line. In an opening was a party of about two goblins. They had curved swords and shields. They had two horses with them. They were eating some kind of bird and made no notice to the seven fighters in the treeline.

"Where are the others?" Bosh whispered to Corwin, an archer in front of him. Seconds after a swarm of goblins lept from the trees above.

"Its a trap! Every man for himself!" Vick roared. The big warrior flipped a goblin off his back and chopped its head off with his axe.

"Bosh! Get out of here!" Corwin shouted as he shot an arrow at a goblin running towards the mage. It struck the goblin in the heart, black blood spraying everywhere. Bosh saw four goblins on top of one of his fellow fighters. Bosh chanted a spell. He thrust out his fingers and small sparks shot out towards the four. The small sparks hit the goblins everywhere, who lept around in pain. It did little than give the fighter time to get up and swing his sword at one, slicing it in the chest. Bosh ran for the clearing. The two goblins with swords attacked him. Bosh parried their swords with two daggers he quickly got out of his belt. He pushed the swords aside and drove the daggers into both their necks. Pulling them out, covered in black blood, Bosh put both the daggers back in their hilts and hopped onto one of the horses. Bosh rode quickly down a rocky path.

After a strenuous three hours of riding, Bosh came upon a large dirt road. Bosh followed it and saw a woman with a pack over her shoulders leaving a small town at the end of the path. He rode up to the woman.

"Excuse me mam." Bosh said, panting a little. "What town is this. Dont be alarmed, this is goblin blood. A hunting party and I were assualted earlier on this morning. I managed to escape and got to this path. The names Bosh. And you are?" Bosh said kindly, putting out his hand.

She grit her teeth as she hefted the Goblin into the air. She wasn't used to having to lift such heavy things.
"Dor' this thing needs to go on one hell of a diet!" She threw the Goblin mentally, tossing it into a charging group of it's commarades. Her companion, dagger in hand flew at the charging goblings, nimbly dancing between daggers and swords. She pivoted, sticking the Goblin with her dagger. She jumped, narrowly avoiding the sharp tipped point of a spear.
"Cyanide, These creatures are disgusting. My dagger smells horrible now!"
Cyanide shook her head pivoting to land a fist in the stomach of another Goblin. Doreen Grimmaced, pushing a lace of blonde hair out of her face.
"You seem very calm with all of this!" She shouted over the clammor. She wondered where all of the creatures had come from. they had been walking through the forest minding thier own buisness-
Her eyes widened, a white hot pain searing from her lower back. She stumbled, digging her heel into the ground.
Cyanide ran by, helping to support her friend. THe Goblins surrounded them, a circle of dark putrid flesh.
Doreen winced, pulling her hand from the wound on her back.
The dark wave of Goblin mass washed over them.

Cyanide blinked her eyes, trying to focous on the moving mass around her.
"Someone help!" She shouted, hoping someone could hear. The woman had said a small village was on the opposite side of the forest. Hopefully they were close enough.. Cyanide reached for the small dagger she kept hidden in her boot and began to swing wildly. If she was going to die, she'd die without a fight.

Bini Throttlebottom was skipping through the forest, enjoying the sound of the wind passing his ears.
"Someone help!" A woman shouted. Bini stopped and perked his ears. He heard loud roars, along with weapons clashing.
"A fight?" He wondered, climbing up into a tree. Down below was a small clearing laden with goblins. Probably a group of ten of them at most. In the center lie a blonde haired woman clad in dark red leather suit, and her companion, a blue haired woman in chain mail.
"Strange combination.." He muttered. The Kender stopped to think for a moment. There were ten or more Goblins pooled around the women, with three laying dead on the ground. The blue haired woman was viciously slashing her dagger, mostly missing. Who ever had trained her wasn't very good.
"Well it's to bad I'm only one person." He muttered.
He hopped down out of the tree and began walking again. A few moments later he came to a small village and a man with a horse and a woman wearing a pack. He ran up, seemingly out of breath. They were human. He moaned inwardly.
"Excuse me!" He shouted, trying his best to sound human. Hej umped waiving his hands at the two.
"There's two women being attacked in the forest by a huge group of Goblins!" Bini POinted to the forest.
"I need help to save them. Will you come with me?"

OOC: Eh, I tried. Can yah blame me? LOL.

Bosh's appearance had startled Zanadie, but she quickly composed herself at his hasty explanation.

"Zanadie." She replied, giving him her hand. "True, there is a village, but it is small and the inhabitants are not heroic or cheritable. That is why I have put my back to it." At that moment they were joined by another voice, which reminded Zanadie of a small child trying to pass as an older man. She listened intently, and then moaned herself. "Damn! I just got back from a bunch of goblins." Bosh said in dissapointment.

"I'll try my best to help." Bosh said unsurely. He helped Zanadie mount his horse behind him. He then grabbed the kender by the collar and hefted him up in front of Bosh on the horse. The horse didnt have any problem with the weight.

Bosh rode through the forest, following the kenders directions. They came to a clearing were the goblins were. Bosh was already reciting a spell and pointing to the closest. The goblin went beserk and started attacking the other goblins. Bosh then dismounted the horse and threw one of his four daggers at a goblins throat, black blood gushing out as the goblin fell to the floor. The beserk goblin had stabbed another goblin in the gut with its curved sword. Another goblin came from behind the beserk one and swung an axe at its neck, killing it. Bosh noticed two archers aiming their bows at the three near the horse.

"Stay behind me!" Bosh shouted. He quickly recited a spell, that nearly slipped his mind. A faint blue 5x5 foot square materialized 10 feet in front of him. The two arrows passed through it, but slowed down extremely, landing about 2 feet in front of Bosh. The shield vanished as Bosh stop concentrating on it. The archers were notching their bows for a second try. Bosh threw a dagger at ones chest then ducked behind a rock.Detroit Pistons rock!

Zanadie stood petrified, vulnerable, completely open to the goblin archers. She had a blade from a plow wrapped carefully and intricately in her pack which she had planned to have made into a polearm when she could afford it, but it was of no use to her now. Fear and panic ate at her stomach; maybe her husband had been right, maybe she wasn't strong enough to survive on her own ...."Faithless is he who says farewell when the road darkens." -- Gimli, The Fellowship Of The Ring

Bosh pulled Zanadie behind the rock just as an arrow whizzed by.

"Just stay here if you want." Bosh said, panting with exhaustion. Bosh an out from behind the rock. He threw a second dagger at the one archer left. It struck the goblin in the heart, who squealed and collaped to the floor. A goblin swung a wooden club into Bosh's leg from behind, causing him to fall on his back. Another goblin lept on top of the mage, who held the goblins swordhand as best he could. The goblins free hand grasped Bosh around the neck. Bosh couldnt do anything. He hoped one of the others would help...Detroit Pistons rock!

OOC: New thread, so I'm going to introduce a new character.
Name; Layana
Age:28
Eyes:Green-blue
Hair:Brownish-blonde
Race: Human
Past: She was captured by an Overlord(not a dragon) when she was six, and lived in the harem until she escaped at 27.

BIC: Layana was slowly walking throught the forest. Her somewhat gauzy dress caught on branches occasionally. She had the look of one who had once been soft, but now was....different. She had escaped the harem only a few months ago, the harem where she had lived since she was six, and now that she was free, she enjoyed her newfound life. She heard yells, and howls as well as the wail of a hoopak. She smiled. A kender had helped reenter the world after she escaped, and now she was always kind to kender. She sighed and payed more attention.

She could tell now that it was coming from the right side of the path. She could tell that she had to be a little ways ahead to be exactly parallel from it. She stepped into the forest, off of the path. a goblin arow was stuck in a nearby tree. She sighed. Goblins, were no difficulty to kill, unless the grunt rushed you. She suspected that was the case. She calmly lifted her pole-axe like weapon, and looked around closely. A battered looking woman was standing in the clearing by a rock, obviously shocked by something. Layana noticed a foul-faced goblin archer aiming for the woman. Layan swiftly made a lunging-dive across the clearing and beheaded it. She sighed as the headless corpse fell at her feet. She knew that it would take forever fo her to get the smell out of her blade.

She wiped her blade off on the goblins filthy rag that passed for a shirt. she went up too the woman and smiled. "Are you alright? I'm Layana.Whats your name?"

(krackah this is pre-sea-war, ok?)
Karma the gnome was bustling through the forest, ith his gully-dwarf asistants, a kender that had latched onto them, and a fellow gnome. Karmagjklhskfhkihlkheouhlskmhflwnflwhflskdf.wkuwiwjhskhfliouiuoiukjn, jknkujkujlujlajadfjakjehifhw, asked his fellow gnome, Lajerhhsfjshohekwjhlhslhdlhmhmhlhhmhjmlhlmnlhlhn, known to humans as Lajer, where they were. "Lajerhhsfjshohek, doyouknowwhereweare?" Lajer frowned and ordered the horse to a stop. "Wellwemustusethecompassofcourse!" He beckoned to the head of the gully dwarves and said. "We Must use the compass to find where we are. Please get it out for me ."The gully dwarf, Lolg, frowned and then brightened. "Oh me get it. Big boss guy want big pointy thing." Lolg turned. "Hey you Igef! You get boss guy big pointy thing." Igef looked confused. "Which big pointy thing?" Karma was exasperated. "How many pointy things do we have , Igef ?" Igef frowned as if thinking about how many carrots had been in yesterdays rat stew. "Ummmmmm, me think....two!" He held up two grubby fingers.

Lajer sighed and said. "Lolg, you know what i'm talking about ! You get it." Lolg frowned at the idea of work, and with a sigh rummaged around in the cart. "This pointy thing?" he asked waving the dwarf that they had kidnapped's axe. "NO!" "Oh thiis pointy thing." he lifted out the "compass" that was the size of a large stewpot. "Yes that it thank you ." Lajer got off the cart. He carnked the whirly cranked that turned the gears, that made things spin, and made the red painted(so that if it was needed in a forest with enchanted fog or smoke you could see where to go) arrow, that was big enough to skewer the kender napping behind the wagon seat, point north-ish. The arrow whirled, and pointed vaguely down the road. Lajer lifted the compass and put it back in the cart.

He lifted up the blanket and quick sneaked a peak at the dwarf that they had kidnapped. It was still snoring off the 30 mugs of dwarven spirits that it had taken the gnomes, gully dwarves, and one kender, to out-drink him. The kender, had been the one that finally beat him, and then was still able to throw enough water to revive the gnomes so they could tye up the dwarf and throw him in the cart.

Bini tried listening to the two as they rode away.
"HEY WAIT UP!" He shouted, trying to run as quickly as his little legs would carry him. Finally reaching the clearing where the two women had been. One of them still lay on the ground, the other had run off, apparently taking the oger's with them.
He walked up to the fallen woman with blue hair and prodded her with his toe. She moaned rolling over on her back. He cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted at the top of his lungs
"I found one!"

She sat bolt upright, reaching for her hip.
"Where's my dagger?" She asked, glancing to the small being in front of her. Bini blinked.
"You had a dagger? I just found you, honestly I don't think I've seen one.. Let me look through my pouches."
Bini began to rumage as the woman stared at him. Finally he shook his head.
"Nope, no daggers in here! There's some lacy coverings of somesort but no daggers.."
the woman blinked standing up, feeling her head throb.
"ow..." She muttered. Suddenly she looked straight forward at the small creature, as if remembering where she was.
"My friend.. Doreen.. Have you seen her?!"
Bini shook his head. He had, but he hadn't seen her THIS TIME. And he was sure she wouldn't be comforted by the knowledge tahtthe ogres could have eaten her for an early dinner.. He shrugged and waited for the others.

She watched the two riding the horse as a small shadowy figure loomed up behind them.
"Watch out!" She shouted in a streak of blonde hair and red leather. The shadowy figure fell to the ground with a loud thud.
"gotta be careful in these parts... Would you two mind assiting me? My friend got hit pretty hard by one of those things..." She glanced to the dark form of the now dead ogre.
The tiny voice of the Kender made her perk her ears up. It was coming from the direction she had left her friend.
"A-Are you here to help us?" She blinked.

BIC: Bosh got up from the ground, black blood marking some spots of his red cape adorned with runes and his white shirt. There were a lot more people in the clearing he had not seen before. There were now some gully dwarves and gnomes in the clearing. Bosh looked back at the rock and saw Zanadie speaking with another women. Stepping over dead goblin bodies and retrieving his daggers, Bosh made his way over to Bini and the women with blue hair.

"Hey, Im Bosh. Who are you and what do you need us to help you with?" Bosh asked the women as he knelt down next to her. He then looked at the kender, Bini.

"Hey you, kender, whoever you are. Stay here with the women, I'll go handle those gnomes." Bosh said, patting the kender on the back and standing up. He walked over to the gnomes and gully dwarves.

"Good morning guys! Where are you off to today? Whats that you got there?" Bosh asked as he reached out the take the large compass from the gnomes hand. A gully dwarf jumped up and bit Bosh's arm.

"Ow! Hey what the Abyss bro? Get off me!" Bosh shouted shaking the gully dwarf off of him.

"Well in awnser to your friend's question I am a little injured right now." She said, wincing as she touched her lower back.
"I don't think anything of importance was hurt though." Bini smiled.
' "That's good. From all the blood in this clearing you must have been able to defend yourself." Cyanide smirked.
"No, that's my partner Doreen's work. Her weapon of choice is the dagger. I prefer to use whips myself." She smirked and Bini blushed as he realized she was serrious.
"Are you one of those... Dominionatrixes?" Cyanide blinked, trying to figure out what the creature was saying.
"Do you mean Dominatrix? Nooo. I just prefer to use a whip. It's more light weight and compliments my other- Abilities rather well I think."
Bini just sat in wonder. Was he hitting on him? Being filrtatous? He'd never had a female, let alone a HUMAN female flirt with him before. He blushed, his pointed kender ears turning bright red. He just couldn't preform under such pressure. Women. He sighed. Only you and your allies stand between the revival of the Di'verne and the total annilation of man kind...

Two goblins had ran away while the others fought. They hid behind some trees as they watched there comrades die. "What will we do now?" Said one of the goblins. "Well either we could fight and die or run," the other one said.

"I think you two should die." A figure appeared in front of the two goblins. "What the.." Was all the first goblin could say before the figure shot a arrow into its heart. Before the other could move the figure threw a dagger into his head.

The figure grabbed his arrow and his dagger and wiped the blood off. He put them back and then heard a couple of voices. He walked into some light, he was wearing a green cloak with leather armor on underneath his cloak. He had brown spiky hair and hazel eyes. He looked around at all the people that he could see.

"Seems like these are the people the two goblins were talking about. I think I'll keep my eye on them." As he said this he jumped up into a tree and continued to watch them..."True strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me."

OOC: Whilst it's not my thread I say go for it :) The more the merrier!

IC: Two goblins Jumped out of the bushes, on either side of Bini and Cyanide. Cyanide reached for her belt and pulled out a long rope of black leather. She smiled, her purple eyes filling with hatred.
"You boys just don't give up do you?" She spat, jerking her arm forward. The rope of leather lasoed around one Goblins throat as he started making Gargling noises. Bini stood wide eyed, almost in terror.
"My goodness.. such violence.." He muttered realizing the other blood thirsty creature was drooling over him. He reached for his pouches and pulled out a small sling shot made of vallenwood tree and vine. He closed one eye and aimed with the other, a small pebble smacking the goblin in between the eyes. It roared in rage as it accidently back handed it's partner.
The other goblin, whose face was begining to turn an odd shade of purple made a guteral gurgle and lunged for Cyanide. She in turn side stepped it's lunge and pulled back, breaking the Goblin's neck.
"Idiot.." She muttered unwrapping her whip from around her victims neck. Bini Shot another pebble at the now enraged Goblin as three more jumped out from behind. Bini Gulped. Cyanide Sighed. This was going to be a long battle.

OOC: This looks like a good place to jump in. :D

Bini Shot another pebble at the now enraged Goblin as three more jumped out from behind. Bini Gulped. Cyanide Sighed. This was going to be a long battle.

The mysterious figure in the fire cloak had been watching the progression of the battle from her perch in a tall tree. in all the excitment, they had yet to realize she was there.

She sighed as she watched the 3 Goblins approach the kender and it's companion. Though they fought well, they were quickly being over-run by the enemy. She couldn't takie it anymore.

Hopping up from her crouched position on the high branch, the leaves did not move as she stood up, one foot in front of the other. Pulling two arrows from the quiver on her back and took aim at the Goblins. With only a slight whistle as they flew through the air, the arrows met there targets. Two Goblins lay dead, elven arrows in each of their throats.

That should even the odds.

Swinging the longbow over her shoulder, she swung easily from branch to branch until she was on the ground. The last Goblin saw her before the other people did. It came at her straight on, weapon raised. The cloaked figure dodged to the side, pulled her long dagger from her boot, and stabbed the Goblin in the back, squarely in the right lung. As it fell, she yanked her blade free, wiped it off, and re-sheathed it in one fluid moment.

Turning to the group finally, she pulled back the hood of her cloak. The face revealed was striking. Young and smooth, she had big hazel eyes. As she shook her had slightly, a thick mane of silvery-white hair flowed well past her waist.

"Hello," the Ranger introduced herself,"I'm Catlin Sonrei."

Catlin nooded looking at both of them.

"I think you're friend here is right," she advised Cyanide, "if this Doreen is in trouble we should help her.

Slinging her bow and quiver of arrows over her shoulder, she let out a liltling whistle that sounded like a birdcall. Out of the bushes, just past the tree Catlin had beeen perched in just a few minutes before, came a completely beige Mare. The horse trotted to her mistress, kneeling to allow the elf to climb into the saddle. Once seated, Catlin whistled again and the horse stood up.
