The town of Threadbare had once been normal. It had once had been very boring, with an inn, a blacksmith, and etc. That was of course, until a bunch of priests came, and built their temple.

It was generally called the Twin Fires, or Flaming Walls. But it truely was a temple to Tahkisis.

But the townsfolk had no problem against it. It had no aura of fear such as the Shoiken Grove, or death knights of Vingaard Keep. It was feared, but only as a stereotype. The young boys who were dared to enter came out happy and rather surprised. Hence, the young boys came to the temple every day and played tag. The priests smiled and shook their heads. Men came and prayed to whatever god they wished. Exactly the oppisite of what was expected. Perhaps it came from the appearance.

The walls, including the ceiling were up in flames, they did not give up heat, nor did they swallow up anything. Men had put oiled paper near it, and stood as the flame did nothing to them. They would blink and it would simply be gone. The inside of the main temple room was huge, open, and empty except for a raised stage that had four stained glass windows: Each had forms of the Queen: one with the five-headed dragon, one with the Tempress, one with Dark Warrior, and the last also with the five-headed dragon. The walls on the inside were solid, including the ceiling. The ceiling was by far the most interesting: it had a large mural of the multiheaded dragon fighting Paladine, and winning. It covered the ceiling in it's entirety.

On the raised stage , in the center of the four stainglassed windows was a single closet with stained glass covers. THe inside was covered by a black silk and was the only thing that had an aura of evil.

Next to the closet on both sides under the stained glass were two doors. These however, were black and painted with red tatoo (think Dark Maul face). All the priests that were on the maind chamber were not allowed inside here, and the people who came in and out were not allowed on the raised stage at all.

Behind these doors were the true priests of Takhisis: with corruption rituals, evil ideals, and who despise the populace in the main chamber, and never left.

It was this temple that Jessica, Cleric of Paladine, was to find out what was going on. SHe stood in front of the solid doorway, noticing the two flaming side walls with half interest. Walking in, muttering a quick prayer to Paladine, she pulled her zipper cloak on to cover her medallion of Paladine.

She walked in, was greeted by a priest with a hideous scar on his face, and kneeled down.

"Paladine, I pray you will help me to follow my fate, and help me through troubles and problems." She said with complete devotion. A couple of priests laughed at a joke. Nothing happened.

She stood up. By Paladine, what is this> "If you think you'd enjoy it, perhaps i'll ask Her Dark Majesty to rip YOUR guts out."- Raist

Zen was surprised when a renagade mage like himself had recived a summons from his former master. The Qualinesti elf in all of his 742 years had never heard of any renagade mage being welcomed back into Qualinost. He had suspected that his master's new postion as Archmage of the Conclave had something to do with his safe passage into the city. As Zen pasted into the gates of Qualinost, he felt a strange omen pass over him of dark times to come. Zen brushed it off however, for he had to be sharp, and on his guard, so that he would not come to harm here in Qualinost. He had already had a spell going through his mind the entire time so he may be safe and be able to defend himself should the need arise while he was here. If it had been anyone else who called Zen into the elfin capital, he would not have come, but he felt he had a dept to his old master for introdcucing him to magiks, and being the first one to study under. Of course, Zen's powers had increased dramaticlly since he had left the aprentage of the old elf when he was about 500.

Zen walked down the marble path that was set into the ground untill he came to a colassal tower within the city. Zen knew that the High Command of Qualinest met there, and it was within the walls of this tower that Zen would meet with his old master, now an honorary Archmage. Zen was about to enter the grand center when someone shouted out from behind him.

"DIE! Your renagade!"

With that Zen turned to see a young elf, no older then 200, preparing a small fireball within his hands, taking aim at Zen himself. When the guards who had been escorting Zen unsheathed their swords to fight the young mage, Zen held his hand up and stopped them.

"I will not have you dirty your hands with the blood of other over me. I shall take care of him myself." Zen said.

"Why do you wish to throw away your life young one?" Zen called out to the magi.

"Those who do not choose an aligment are a threat to us all!" Shouted the young elf as he hurled the meaninglessly small fireball at Zen. Zen held his hand out and as the fireball colided with his had it dispersed.

"So sad the one so young must die..." Zen said, and with that, a small trail of flame began to blaze up his left leg, then up past his wait a breat, to his left outstreched arm, where it traved down it legth, to Zen's palm. From there, a massive stream of fire exhailed from his palm directly for the young magi. The Young elf was engulfed in flame and died instantly in a firely explosion.

"Come now." Zens aid to the stunned guards next to him, "Let us make haste to Lord Selsor. We must not keep him waiting."

The guard only knoded and began to lead Zen inside the building. After goign through several halls and up and down several spiralling stairways, Zen was brought to a large library.

"Archmage Selsor is in these chambers. He instructed us to take you here, and then to leave you. I am sure he is near." And with that, the guard left.

Zen traversed the halls of books slowly, sensing that his old master had become even more powerful since they had last been in the same room. Zen walked as if he were almost afraid of his old master, but he was not. He quickly regained some form as he confidently walked down the halls again. He was soon taken to Lord Selsor.

"I saw your assult down there in the streets...quite impressive." Selsor said, first from behind his chair as he stared out at the city through a window that was the entire back wall of the room.

"Why have you called me here, Master?" Zen said, with respect for the elder elfin mage. If he remembered correctly Selsor was now pushing 1200, a very old age for even an elf.

"When you were my student, I told you often of a gift that was passed down in my family. A Great gift from father mage, to son mage and so on?" Selsor said.

Zen remebered his old master telling him such stories many times. "Yes, I do remember such stories master."

"Well, as you know, I have not any children, and I must pass on this gift." Selsor said, calmly.

"Indeed, quite a delema you have there." Zen said.

"I have decided, that you, the most talented of my pupils will recives my gift. My gift of most power indeed. You will be the one to recive the gift of the Green Flame..."

And this is only where my story begins..."To see your world in a grain of sand,
and a heaven in a wild flower,
to hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
an eternity in an hour."

OOC: Follow up, oh, and if anyone wants to play this char i'm ok..

BIC~
A angry snarl followed by an explosion caused Jess to look up. However there was nothing out of the ordinary....or rather...the unordinary.

*
"YOu fool!" shouted the one who caused the explosion. "What do you think you're playing at?! That girl is a cleric of Paladine! What are you doing, letting her in?! Do you realize that she can sense the energy behind the doors?!"

"I....I am...sorry master..." Said the recipiant as he died.

"No one ever makes mistakes around here, and keeps alive for long!" He shouted to the rest of the priests.

The leader of the Twin Fires, had many names......and if you did not answer correctly, you did not get a second chance. These called him master, others called him by his true name....only two others. But to most he was simply Dark.

He slowly paced behind the two doors on the stage, where a small conversation between the other lead mage and two lowers was taking place.

The other lead, (named Astadar...most called Astar, except these called him Master.) calmly walked over to Dark.

"That cleric will discover this, Dark!" Astar whispered hastily. "The fools in front will not stop her!"

"I know, Astar." He said calmly. "She should be shooed off. Immeidatly. But how can we do this without raising suspicion?"

"This is what I don't know." replied Astar.

"The flames." He said to the panicked cleric. "She will simply come to close to the flames."

Astar sneered. "Oh...indeed..""If you think you'd enjoy it, perhaps i'll ask Her Dark Majesty to rip YOUR guts out."- Raist

Keth stood at the back of the temple close to the entrance. His long black hair fell past his shoulders un-fettered. He had dark violet eyes and alabaster skin. seemingly of elven decent, he wore the black robes of the magi, and the scent of dried roses clung to him.

M'lady...I would suggest that you leave if you value your life at all.... Keth sent to the woman, the cleric. he sent forth an image of the flames, and a feirce warning to stay back.

He stood there, not looking at the girl but at the mural above them, and smiled darkly.

Jess stood up...she had heard a warning....and she was not fool not to heed it. Something had told her the flames would get her...Put she could not help her curiosity...another thing Paladine had wanted, how were those flames maintained day and night.

"Who are you?" She asked quietly. "Who warns me of this danger?" "If you think you'd enjoy it, perhaps i'll ask Her Dark Majesty to rip YOUR guts out."- Raist

Keth heard her, as did half the priests in the temple. He smirked and shook his head.

I do. Do not turn and look at me... I cannot afford for them to suspect me. Turn and leave the temble, I am standing by the door....I will follow you in one hour's time....and meet you at the gates.

He sent. He had torn his gaze from the mural and locked his eyes on the woman...everyone was staring at her now...

The message was relayed and echoed immediatly to Dark and Astar. The latter panicked. "Someone is out to show what we are!" He said.

"Calm yourself, Astar, we shall watch. Who this person is must be revealed before we can take action. WE must stay hiding as much as possible.

Jess made her gaze hard as stone as she slowly walked out of the temple, keeping it straight and not looking at anyone. She walked out and took off the cloak she was wearing, revealing the fact she was a cleric. She slowly walked into the inn. Buying a wine, she sipped it for almost 45 minutes before she walked to the gates. She turned to see the black haired man....a Black Robed mage.

Keth smirked. "Because it is in my interest to do so.... I have no loyalty to the Queen, and I wish to know what they are up to in there..." He leaned against the tree, and though he was magi, he seemed more rogue-ish. He smiled at Jess and bowed.

"Keth Kurosei, At your service" He looked up and smiled charmingly...

"Now that I've most likely saved your life, you want to tell me why you went in there?" He asked, his violet eyes dark.

"Jessica Nicon." She said brusquely. "Paladine has told me to investigate, he suspects foul play. I do not trust a temple to her that allows people to pray to her arch enemy. If you could not tell i am a cleric of Paladine, and no right thinking Tahkisis-worshipper would let me into at temple."

She looked up into the rapidly darknening sky. "However since you have, no doubt, saved my life i owe a debt to you.""If you think you'd enjoy it, perhaps i'll ask Her Dark Majesty to rip YOUR guts out."- Raist

"Perhaps we should retire to the Inn, or if you prefer, My camp is only a short walk away..." Keth said as he caught her glance to the sky. "Perhaps my camp would be safer...." He said, glancing back towards the town.

He moved past her, glancing at her once before continuing down the path, not looking back.

*Great....So much for working alone... it will be a matter of time before she knows what I am....* He thought to himself as he walked towards his camp.

Keth Looked back towards her and nodded. "yes, I prefer it....but it seems that fate moves against me this time... It is my nature to be solitary, I have always been so." He smiled ruefully and then gestured to the camp under the shade of several tall pines.

"There we are...." He said, and made his way to the the unlit pile of wood set for a fire.

He closed his eyes and muttered a soft word.... a spark lept from his hand to the pitch-coated wood. The pitch caught and the flames lept up. "There we go..." he said and then sat down.

"I've been watching them for quite some time now... noting the dissapearances, and marveling those flames... and yet have gotten no closer to solving it." He growled, his dark violet eyes seemed to burn red for a moment....but it could have been the fire reflecting in his eyes.

"So, The Platinum Father has sent you to investigate.... You should be more careful, had you gotten much further the sanctified ground to the Dark Queen would have torn your mind apart..." He said as he tossed another pitch coated log into the flames.

She watched the fire flicker against the silver medallion she wore. "Those both [doors] seem to declare a warning....much like a brightly colored frog........perhaps whatever is truely going on in that temple is behind them. When I in there there was a large explosion followed by muffled voices....i could barely hear them."

She looked suspiciously at him. "You're a Black Robe, why don't you infiltrate it? They'd let you in, i believe."

The sun was slowly setting out of the hidden window in Dark's bedroom. He looked at it, cursed it.

"That girl will find this chamber...and she's got help as well. Foolish little cleric. WE will simply have to not let her go....that shall solve the probelm. However her accomplice must be destroyed as well, but he remains unseen. He will have to reveal himself in order to get in here...."

There was a knock.

"Yes? What is it!?"

"It's Astar, Dark."

"Oh, Enter."

Astar calmly walked in. "What do you think about that girl? The cleric?"

"I know which one, Astar! It is very simple. We will wait until she gets in here, and she will not come out."

He paused as though listening to something only he could hear.... He began to laugh softly. "Seems they're planning our demise...they know who you are...but are still puzzled as to my identity... which they will have trouble truely figuring out." He smiled, showing a flash of white teeth.

"Nuitari can only aid me so far in the Queen's domain..." He said as he clenched a fist. "I've been here for many years...and she dares set foot here...." He growled, the sound eerie in the moonlight, and again his eyes seemed to flash red, but it seemed impossible to tell if it was real or just the firelight.

Jess was about to ask how he could have been here longer then Her, but was interrupted by three streetboys.

"Hey, it's that girl who hears voices!" Yelled the first one. "What are you doign by our treehouse! I mean the weird guy in black always hangs here but who are you?!"e

"yeah," Said teh second, a bit more timid. "This is our ground! Go stay at the inn!"

"I am sorry." Replied Jessica. "Why dont you go back to your mom?"

"WE dont have moms! THey left us here! They went into the temple and made this deal with this guy in black and gave us to Kurt's father!" Said the third, motioning to the first one who had spoken.

"But father dosent look after us. He just drinks."

Jessica looked at Keth and whispered in his ear. "I wonder where their mothers went." She said sarcastically. She then turned to the boys. "I'm sorry, but i have no where else to stay."

"It's possible they where taken by those who hide behind those painted doors..." He said, as he looked up at the rising moons. He then glanced back at the children....

"Stay here.... I'll be back... there's something I need to take care of...." He moved off into the night... He had learned an ancient form of shapeshifting form another of his kind.... the Black Dragon Kisanth. He shifted with a thought... and using the form of an owl, flew off into the night...

He landed near his lair and shifted to his true form immediatly. The huge black dragon snarled as he caught the scent of the goblin near. "Fool....What do you want here?" Kethryveris snarled, his wings buzzing slightly in agitation...

The goblin was startled at the sudden appearance of the dragon... "Forgive me Royal One...." It trembled... "I've been sent by the black wing...they demand you join their ranks at once!"

Keth's head snapped back. "I hold no loyalty to the Queen.... I am sworn to her son and she has no power over me... Leave, before I decide that Goblin is on my menu for dinner tonite...." He snarled, as acid dripped from his jaws, burning holes in the stone he stood upon.

"B-But Royal One!" The goblin trembled.... "I was to retrieve you or not return!"

Kethryveris snarled. "Then you will not return..." With a single lunge, the goblin was gone, nothing remained but bones...and even those here melting from the corrosive acid.

"Damn....I didn't think they'd find me yet... If they suspect that Its me trying to destroy this temple...." He snarled and turned to the lair, and pulled out several small baubles, he always carried them in pretense to the temple as "offerings"

"Yeras ago, before the cataclysum, a power was formed by a species of most powerful and lost metallic dragons. These dragons were like no other, and breathed a powerful Green Flame. A Flame the sneared all, no matter their defence. The dragons, on ther verge of extinction, from un unknown sorce, mated with an elven prince, and formed the first of the Zeltrenari mages. Mages of most powerful and ultamate abilities. These mages were a blood line that has been carried down in secret in my family, passed on from father mage, so son mage. The Secrets of the Green Flame passed on between the generations." Selsor said.

"Why are you telling my this, master?" Zen asked.

"As I said, I have no children from which to pass the secrets too, and I am dieing, and quickly. I must carry on the blood line of the Zeltrenari, at all coasts. So you, will be the one to recive the gift of the powerful Green Flame."

"I see..." Zens aid, his eyes alive with passion, with greed almost. He wanted this power, and was all to willing to obtain it.

"It will be harder for you, as I will not be alive long enough to teach you all the secrets one should have when they take on the gift. You will be taught much, but will have to learn much again on your own." Selsor said.

"I am willing to do any work it takes to carry on this legacy." Zen said.

"Then it is time to first recive the gift..." Selsor said as he turned around for the first time in their conversation. He held in his hands a transparent neon green globe. He stood, and walked over to Zen. Then, he placed the globe over Zen's heart, and left it there. It floated quietly in the now night.

Slowly, the energy was absorbed into his skin. Zen was filled to the brim with a power he did not understand, but it felt so powerful, he wanted to know more. His body glew green for a few moments, untill it dicipated.

"You have recived the gift, and quite well I might add. We train, non-stop untill I die. You, are the next in the long legacy of the Zeltrenari Mages."

And with that, Zen's new magical training began...

Keth remained in dragon form, his dark red eyes the color of dying coals.... He moved restlessly in his lair....wondering where he should hide now... If those fools in the black wing found him now, they'd keep sending messengers.

"Damn it all...." He hissed as he began to move all of the gems and such into a small satchel... The velvet bag was enchanted and held everything...

He turned and looked around one last time, before leaving the lair. Though the huge cavern was located on a low cliff ledge, he didn't use it to benifit his flight, and still within dragon form, lept into the air. While airborn, he shifted back into the large owl, the bag gripped tightly in his talons.

Of all times for this to happen... this is too close.... He thought to himself.

Jess slowly began to become impaitent with the black mage as the night grew darker. The three boys were snoring blisfully in trees (Jason had fallen out of his). Jessica slowly got up and peered around. She grasped her cleric's medallion and light slowly seeped out from under her fingers. She slowly began to walk up the cliff until some flashed. PIcking it up, it was about triangular in shape and was a dark black.

A dragon scale. A black dragon scale. She found more of them as she scaled the cliff, and noticed acid marks on the rocks. A dragon had been here. A black.....and had not gotten her even though it knew how to get to her camp....

A most ludicris idea came to her head. Keth.....the unloyal BLACK robed mage....who strangly ran off.....Gods no.

Returning to the camp, she settled into an uneasy sleep.

Keth had found a new lair...this time buried deep within the nearby mountain chain....hopefully now he wouldn't be so easily found. With a snort of derision, he took to the air again, and returned to the camp.

He kept to the owl form and circled the camp three times before shifting in the concealment of the trees. He dusted off his robes as he walked back into the clearing.

He sighed as he saw them all asleep. He began to bank the fire to keep the heat. When he heard one of them stirr in their sleep.

Keth picked out one of the baubles, a perfect sphere of obsidian. "Here...You can have this one..." He muttered a few soft words and it glowed a soft blue. "It will protect you and your friends." He said as he dropped the gem in the boy's hand.

Zen couldnt remember the last time he had learned so much in such a short time. He had suspected that that his new training would be fruitful, but he had no idea. The Zeltrenari Wizards had learned thigns that were never even heard of before. As he lost himself in the tomes and scrolls of the magic of the Green Flame, he became more and more amazed with what it was capable of. Already being quite proficent with High Sorcery, and Wild Magic, it did take alot to suprise Zen, and the new magic did just that with every page.

He had trained for a little over eight months strait when his master, Archmage Selsor died, of old age. The amount of respect that Zen had felt for his new and old master was so strong that it even put a break in Zens studies. He promised hismelf he would take time to morne the dead elf.

The funeral was quite a site to behold. The old Archmage was much loved in Qualinost. It saddeneed Zen to see such a great Spellcaster leave the world. Especially since he took most of the secrets of the Green Flame with him.

He left all he knew in writen records of course, but Zen was not naive. He knew that with selsor gone, he no longer had political immunity in Qualinost, and would soon be removed from the city. That is why Zen did not stay at the service for too long. He made haste to Selsor's tower, so that he may lock himself inside and continue his training for as long as he could.

Saddly, things didnt work out that way...

There was an entire armed battalion awaiting at the foot of Selsor's sanctum.

"We dont want you here, renagade!" The captain said.

"You will leave Qualinost immidetly." He continued.

Zen ahd expected this kind of metting eventually. He didnt not want to create any kind of unwarented violence within the city again, so he said simply.

"I left my robes and my rations at the power, may I at least be allowed to retrive them?"

"You will take none of Selsor affects with you, they will all be burried with him in his tomb, and guarded carefuly." Said the captain.

"But surely, you cannot expect me to elave without my robes and soem food? You could even escort me as I retrived them." Zen said.

The guard seemed to waver for a moment, untill he finally knodded, and Zen moved forward. When he got to the top of the tower, he put on a new set of brilliant emerald green robes, and within them he managed to hide the largest and most knowlageable of the Green Flame Spell books, and several exortic spell components. He wasnt able to sneak any more without being noticed. He picked up has bad a strapped it to his back. Just as he was about to elave the room, he snapped his fingures and muttered a short phrase. The Green of his robes was recplaced by a gray, so they appeared to be nothing more then a heavy travel cloack. This way he would not draw attention, and the robes true form was hidden. The robves were actually quite a powerful Green Flame artifact sued in the castings of several complex spells. They also offered him powerful spell protection.

"One more thing." The captian watching him like a hawk said.

"In his will, Lord Selsor left this to you." He siad, as he turned around and took a beautiful staff with a large emerald at the end. The staff was about 5 feel long, and looked as if it was a branch from a tree, a large stright brach with small braches holding the emerald in place.

"A gift. It is powerful, whatever it may be."

"Thank you." Zen said.

And witht hat he was off on the road out of Qualinost, and eventually Qualinesti. He didnt quite know where his travels would take im, but he wished to eb ready... so he took out his spell book and began to study.

Jess slowly awoke to Keth and Jase talking. Half-asleep, she missed what they were saying, but the mage was back, and that was the important part. However, she heard him falls alseep and decided to talk to him in the morning. If her obscene thoughts were correct, then she'd have an angry black.

*

Jase looked at him. "Woah...." He said as she looked at the sphere. "No one's ever given me something so neat..Thanks! I owe you one!"

He scampered up his tree, and leaned back on his tree. "You're an orphan too? I'm sorry......it sucks having no parents, but Kurt likes it. He likes the freedom, but it's good to have someone to look up too. You don't mind if you're my...what's the word the grown ups use...role model?"

He placed the sphere his pocket and said. "I'll keep it for the rest of my life." He murmured, and then fell asleep.

Astar raged. Fumed. That damned dragon refused to listen to his queen's will! After they found him, he still wouldn't listen! That dragon was going to find himself walking into walls.......

Dark, however, was much calmer. He slowly laid out a trap for teh dragon to fall into....a rather large and intricate trap. Involving that damned cleric. And a couple of boys. In reference to a friend who's name means cabbage, and he's sick: "Poor cabbage, he's wilting." -Blake

Phen'ox (or just Phen) strode lightly amoungst the tree trunks, his shoulder length, unbound, black/blue hair stirring in the slight breeze that passed by. Black leather breeches, a light blue silken shirt, and a black woolen cloak where the only possessions he seemed to carry, save the money pouch to his left hip. Voices drifted to his ears, the sounds startling him. His iris' flashed a sudden bright blue, and he leaped into the air, the branches and thick foliage covering him from sight as two people walked underneath him. He sighed silently, his eyes once again flashing as he floated gently to the forest floor.

Without the bright flash, his already crystal blue iris's were already circled with a ring of black, a stark and breathtaking comparison. Making sure that no one else was ahead or behind, he carried onwards, his booted feet falling softly on the earth.

OOC: Ok, Phen'ox is a psionic, for the most part, he can really only use telekinesis, however he knows how to prevent people from entering his mind. He can also create energy, however this is simple focused TK, and does require some mighty concentration on his part.In life there is torment...

"Mmmm." Said Jase. "Dun flash that light." He rolled over, and fell off his tree again. He got up again. "Wierd...coulda sworn someone was flashing blue lights at me..." groaning, he squinted in the darkness.

Being raised on the streets gave him keen ears and keen eyes, and he adjusted quick. He carefully listened, and heard booted feet. Someone was coming.

He scampered up a tree, and saw the person. ANother thing that streetlife taught you: trust your gut.

"GUYS! someone's coming!"

Nark and Kurt groaned and turned the other way. Jess opened her eyes. "Light." she said quietly and the silver medallion glowed. The person showed up easily in the artifical light.

Zen had been traveling for months, learning more and more as he went. Zen was used to traveling long distences, it happened to him often. He had come this way because he had heard rumors of a temple with walls of flame. He was very interested in what he could learn from such a place.
Now, Zen was on the outskirts of town, reading through his spell book as he walked along. The book was ingenious, as you would merely say in the old languages what you wanted to see, and the text would appear before you. It was quite a useful tool the Green Flame mage had picked up before he left. It had helped him past the time along his travels, and had expanded his knowlage greatly, of the forgotten Green Flame."To see your world in a grain of sand,

But...sense came to him, this person meant no harm. The light dimmed, once again, his eyes resuming their strange appearance. "I am Jessica, Cleric of Paladine. This is Jase." She cocked her head to the small boy with a rock and sling. "That is Keth." She pointed to the dragon in disguise.

Jase looked at him, and slowly put teh rock down. "Damn, you have weird eyes! You got some disease or cursed or blessed or something?" He asked curiously. "THey're so sparkly, kind of the how the Clerics of Mishakal dress."

"Shut up, Jase." Said Kurt from a nearby tree, with a short sword in hand, "You're sounding like a moron! Nark, wake up!" He kicked the boy, and needless to say, Nark woke up.

"Whaaa....?" He asked.

"Regardless of your eye color, though it is quite strange, i must say that you startled us all. Why were you being so quiet? Trying to sneak up on us?"

"Phen? Is it kind of like Hen or Ten? You have alot of rhymingness!" Jase asked merrily.

"SHut up, Jase." Said Jessica to the boy.

Phen regarded Jase with mild amusement. "Yes...they are rather...wierd. But I have become quite fond of them, their a sort of side effect... my abilites, turned them like this. Rather beautiful though, aren't they....and my apologies for startling you all, I was not attempting to 'sneak'. I merely did not wish to be noticed as I passed through this area. Some do not take kindly to me once they discover whom it is they converse with. However something tells me that....the three of you would not blanche at such things.", his eyes rounded on Keth, where they stayed for but a moment. Appraising Jessica, "A cleric you say? Interesting.....I would wonder why a Cleric of such a god would be in the company of a black robe wizard.....might I enquire as to why.....oh no, tis none of my buisness, but if you would be so kind as to allow me your company, for a short while at least."

Keth regarded the stranger for a long moment, then turned, his long black hair falling loose around his shoulders. "Stay if you wish...." He said, and turned towards the coming dawn...

Memories of his past plauged his dreams, and he would not be able to rest further tonight. Memories of the swamp south of Xak Tsaroth... His mother and his three sisters. He remembered the day that the Dark Queen commmanded his mother to join in the battles... His rash attempts to stop her.... How the Goddess Struck him without mercy, and left him for dead...

He gathered his sisters, Jeht upset at the apparent loss of her elder brother (For reference, Jeht appeared in "Black Wing" as the highlord's mount). Their mother was killed, struck through with a shining dragon lance. Kethryveris survived....and slept with the rest of the dragons at the Goddess's defeat at Huma's lance.

He was one of the first to wake and on his wanderings of Ansalon met up with another black, Kisanth by name. She taught him an ancient art of shapeshifting, a power of the mind not of magic, in exchange of a few magical artifacts that he happened to have that she wanted.

Years later he heard the summons of the black wing....and refused them....using his newfound power, stayed in the form of a large raven that stood vigil over the encampment. He found his youngest sister, Jeht there....as the highlord's mount. During an early skirmish of the War of the Lance, The black Highlord used a magical ring to cause Jeht's death, so that he might use Kisanth as his mount.

So many things tore him from family...all caused by the Goddess... he would never join forces with her....

And boys play tag......yet their are two doors that emit evil, but i am not allowed near them. The Black Mage is on the same quest as I am....and the boys are orphans."

Jase looked at Phen. "I think you're eyes are really cool! They're like...all glowly and flashy, but they made me fall out of my tree."
