OOC: I thought I'd bring in a new character and a new rpg...not exactly sure where this is going to go...I wasn't even sure of what title to give it...but here we go! Oh, one more thing...this takes place during the years between the War of the Lance and the gods leaving.
BIC: A lone figure entered Palanthas, covered from head to foot in dark gray traveling clothes. It was of medium height, yet due to the number of garments it had one, one could not determine wheter it was man or woman. It moved with the easy fluid grace of an elf, and if one saw the figures eyes, they would swear that it was indeed an elf.
Save for the small fact that it was much smaller than any true elf would be. The figure made its way to the Gold and Silver Inn. Many people looked at it, wondering who it was and why they were bundled up so, considering it was only mid-fall. Once safely inside the Inn, and secure in a rented room, the traveler took off the garments, revealing a young woman. Salmina tossed her clothing in a corner, wrinkling her nose. She hated the fact that she had to travel dressed this way, but it was necessary.
"Ugh, I can't stand the way those things smell," she said to herself as she walked out of her room. She was extremely hungry, and had to get something to eat. And the smell of the inn's food wasn't helping matter any.
Salmina made her way downstairs and into the main room of the inn. It wasn't very crowded, but then again, it wasn't peak buisness hours at the moment. She found a table in a corner and went over to sit down in it. Unfortunately she had to pass by many other tables and patrons, and received numerous stares.
She sat down at the table, and waited for someone to come take her order.
"Do you think she's an elf?" she overheard someone from a nearby table ask their companion.
"Maybe, she does have the eyes and ears for it...but she's way to short."
Salmina shook her head. This was what she got for her mothers hasty actions. Looks and stares, and being sought after by unwanted people. All because she had the misfortune of having mixed blood.Oh, I'm sorry, is this yours? You must have dropped it. You know, it's a good thing I found it for you. Here you go.

Saqur watched this girl. She was a half-blood all right. Elf, maybe kender. He snorted into his ale. A kender and a elf. Right.

"Hey! If you want to sit, you wont find an empty table! You cant sit here, if you wish." he motioned to the seat to him. "Two ales please." he said to the serving wench. Then he looked at the half-elf thing. "Do you like ale? It's good here."

Salmina smiled at the man. He was the first friendly person she had encountered since her hasty retreat from home. She sat at his table and shook her head.
"Only half of me likes ale good sir," she said, the smile faltering a bit.
"My name is Salmina Half-Elven...what is your name?"Oh, I'm sorry, is this yours? You must have dropped it. You know, it's a good thing I found it for you. Here you go.

OOC: Starting a story without a direction is dangerous. They tend to die on you quite quickly. So figure out where to go with the story quickly. If you can't figure out anything, I'll try to help out. In the mean time, meat my half-elven. Made her over a year ago.

BIC:

Solara wandered through Palanthas. The fact that people occasionally stared at her was something she ignored for a long time. Standing at 6'2 she wasn't the shortest around, and the only real thing that gave her heritage away. Was the red haze in her hair, and the slightly more muscular build. She had gotten used to the occasional stares, and gawkers.
People still hired her aid. And this time she was to meet in an Inn.

She opened the door of the inn. Quickly looking around, she saw her client wasn't there. So she decided to wait, and sat down in the corner of the inn.
Why is it we always forget to keep the good things close to our heart, but let the bad things cloud our mind.

OOC: Well, my character is fleeing an unwanted suitor...perhaps she can find someone she loves and who can lover her and accept her in return.

BIC:Salmina looked over at the elf-girl in the corner. She wasn't full elf, but could pull it off if she felt like it. Salmina shook her head. Unlike herself, half-kender, half-elf. No one would mistake her for full anything. Such was her legacy.
She sighed, and looked over at the corner again. She smiled. Obviously, she was waiting for someone. No reason why she should wait alone. She waved at the lone girl, and hoped that she would accept the invitation.Oh, I'm sorry, is this yours? You must have dropped it. You know, it's a good thing I found it for you. Here you go.

Solara saw what appeared to be a girl waving at her. The girl appeared to be an elf, but was too short to be one. Interested she got up and moved over to her table, and sat down.

"Hello." She said. Why is it we always forget to keep the good things close to our heart, but let the bad things cloud our mind.

"Hello, I'm Salmina Half-Elven. I noticed you sitting over there by yourself. Since you look like you are waiting for someone, why don't you sit here, with me and this gentleman?" Salmina looked at the girl, hoping she wouldn't take offense to the greeting, and silently cursed her kender half.Oh, I'm sorry, is this yours? You must have dropped it. You know, it's a good thing I found it for you. Here you go.

"Greetings, friend." Saqur told the other elf, which was also a half breed. "I am Saqur Uth Dalamar. I am also Half-elven except i believe that taking on a Solamnic name is more fitting to myself. Who might you be?"

He glanced at Salmina, who looked like she'd seen a ghost. Saqur smiled. "Yes, i am related to the Dark Elf, Dalamar."

OOC: Uh, would you mind letting me determine whether or not my character is shocked? I don't mind being allowed to rp, but I would appreciate the same consideration that most of the others get in here.Oh, I'm sorry, is this yours? You must have dropped it. You know, it's a good thing I found it for you. Here you go.

Alot of these problems can be fixed before they occur. Instead of saying that Salmina is shocked you could have said "Saqur prepared for her companions shcoh and replied, "Yes, I am related to the Dark Elf, Dalamar"
I don't mean to criticize, lord knows you are prone to defensiveness. Take it constructively to better your rp skills, Princess.signed:

Ah, yes, lol. i was generally pissed, normally i dont act that way, but alright.

Yes, the reaction i was thinking about was being shocked. A man walks into a bar and falls down.

OOC: Well, guess I'll just have to roll with it.

BIC: Salmina quickly recovered from her shock. Someone related to a dark elf...it was the first she had met any like that. Suddenly she didn't feel so alone anymore. She smiled to her two companions.
"Ah, well, I am pleased to make your acquaintance. Perhaps we can be...friends?"Oh, I'm sorry, is this yours? You must have dropped it. You know, it's a good thing I found it for you. Here you go.

"Ah, well, I am pleased to make your acquaintance. Perhaps we can be...friends?"

Saqur glanced at Salmina. "We can very well be friends, Miss Half-Elven. They are in short supply these days. Talk of war, armies, friends normally get run over by a dragon or something. Dalamar may be a dark elf, but he did insist i learn Silvanesti." How many men does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Well, one to screw it in, but and an unlimited men to boast about the screwing part.
