INTRO: Ages had swept by over Krynn, and in their passing, had misused, and altered what once was.

Palanthus was no longer a proud and gilded noble city; but a corrupt dwelling place for thieves, murderers, whores, and fraudulent politicians.

It had become a dwelling place of evil, sin and vice. And at the top of the criminal chain lay the seat of power- The Assassin’s Guild. The present Superior of the guild was the worst yet. Superior Ramer Gut.

He was solely responsible for many of the deaths and much of the misery in the city. He was also untouchable. The Master Assassin’s guarded his back and, and Jade Warriors guarded the walls of the Guild. His two chief underlings- Jen Ruby and Kremlin, had spies throughout the city.

But the city people knew that there could never be any hope for their future in a world where Ramer Gut still lived, and so in secret, they gathered in the dark bowels of the city, deep underground, and formulated a dangerous and deadly plan.

They selected from among their number, the youngest and the swiftest, and sent them on the perilous journeys to the far corners of Krynn. Their charge, to seek aid, and bring back a handful of champions, whose skill would be beyond measure, to help the city free itself of the crime boss, Ramer Gut.

No longer would they pay protection money, and turn a blind eye to the mysterious disappearances of friends and neighbors. No more. The citizens would pool their gold, and pay the fighters who came to free them instead.

That is, if they were to break ‘The Guild’ and lived to collect their reward…

OOC: I think most of this is self-explanatory. You can be one of the champions who meet one of the runners as they come to a village/inn, or an assassin who has turned against Ramer and wants revenge.

Ramer has many enemies, as you can imagine. You can also be a part of Gut’s organization, but you’ll have to take orders from me then- I’m going to play Ramer.

I’ll also play one of the merchants who will be contributing gold to the prize money.

I guess it’s a cross between ‘The Godfather’ meets ‘Street-Fighter’ with a bit of Grisham’s ‘The Firm’, thrown in for good measure….have fun!!!!

Bummet stretched over an old brown Vallenwood tree that had long since fallen. He was traveling looking for something to do with his life and he came by this great city called Solace. He would of stayed in the famous Inn of The Last Home that was still there after all these years, but he was broke right now.

So here he was streching on the broken wood chips that were covering the giant log. When he heard panting. He looked up and he saw a young man running toward him. The young man was probably about 17 or so. He was about to shout something at Bummet when he tripped over a branch and fell flat on his face. Bummet doubled over in laughter and had to cough and bite his arm to get himself to stop. He brushed his dark brown shoulder length hair out of his face and Reached a tanned and well defined arm down for help.

"Whats the rush?" Bummet asked.
"I know who you are! Everyone knows you!" The young man said excitedly.
"Well who the hell am I than?"
"Your him! It IS you!"
"Who Damn it??!!" Bummet shouted.
"Your Bummet aren't you?"
"Well y-yeah that's me how the hell did you know that?" He said a little off guard.
"Are you joking everyone know who you are! Your famous!" Said the young man.
"I am huh? I guess I could live with that. Now...Who the hell are you, and what do you want before you get your ass kicked." Said Bummet getting bored.
"Im Jacklon and I was sent to find you. I Heard wind that you were traveling this way so I came here to find you. And I did-"
"Yeah so?" Bummet inturrupted.
"Well there is this evil man that controls Palanthas-"
"Yes yes I ha ve heard about that asshole Whats his name? Wasn't it
Ram Her Gut or something cool like that?
"Ramer Gut! Thats him! Me and the people of the city were wondering if you would like to kill him for us?
"Is it for a noble cause? Bummet asked jumping up and scratching his ass.
"I guess.."
"Great we start for Palanthas in the morning! Now can I bum some cash so I don't have to sleep on this log?" ............

Raquel was hanging around in Sanction for the time being. She was currently unemployed, with no money. And since Sanction was a haven for people with no money, that's why she was there.

Recently however, there was more and more rumors about Palanthas. The city of gold had turned into a pile of bullshit, lead by some assassin guy name Ramer Ass or something like that. She couldnt stand headhoncho type guys.

She was a mercenary herself, one of the best. However, her name was fudged somehow, and she was now Rosan. How, she didnt care. There was another crash in the tavern, and her chair was knocked out from under her, and her ale spilled on her. grabbing a knife, she rammed in into the bar. Everyone turned at the clanging of steel against steel.

"OK! NO FIGHTING!!!!" SHe yelled, and stormed out, and ran straight into a messenger.

"It'syouitsyouitsyouitsyouitsyoU!!!!"

"WHAT?!?!?! ARE YOU A GNOME?!?!"

"Nope, itsjustiwassentouttofindyoutosavePalanthasanditwasreallyeasycauseiknowyoulikeSanction."

"SLOW DOWN!"

"WIll you come to Palanthas and save it?"

"WIlll you pay me?"

"Ok!"

The young man ran into the woods. He called out for help. But no one was there. These roads had been guarded by assassin's but he didn't worry until he met with the greatest assassin. Auron.

"Please somebody help me!" He cried out in vain as he ran. Then he fell and in that moment he knew Auron had found him. "Don't move," said a cold voice. "Please don't kill me."

The young man was terrified. "Why are you here?" The young man blurted out what he had to say. "Ah, so you want some people to kill Ramer." Auron said in a cold voice. "Yes" said the young man. "Well how much are you going to pay?"

The young man looked confused. "Well.." He told Auron the price on Ramer's head. "Ah, well then you can count me in." The young man got up and jumped up in down. He was supposed to go elsewhere but getting Auron the assassin who had slaughtered countless warriors would definately give the people more hope.

"Well then take me to your meeting or whatever you want to call it" Auron said. "Ok follow me.. Auron."

OOC: OK for alittle info he used to work for Ramer until he found out that he was being cheated. If you have ever played Final Fantasy X then that is what he looks like. He has a black clothes instead of his red ones in FFX.

Ok folks. Looks good so far. If more people want to play, they can just join the secret meeting or contact Giraz on their own- because they prefer to work solo and not in a group.

IC:

The woman was young and attractive. Very attractive, there was no denying that, with eyes as blue, and as hard, as sapphires. Her long flaxen braids hung down her back, like two thick ropes of gold flax.

She wore rich velvet robes, trimmed with gold. A small leather purse was tied to her gilded belt, and she wore rings on each of her long white fingers. Her dagger was almost invisible behind the thick cloak of sable.

Her name was Giraz, and she was the only daughter of Nevymar, who owned the proud Merchant House of Nevymar, in Palanthus. The young woman played in dangerous games. Her driving passion had always been one thing- Gold.

She was practical and logical, but she could also be shrewd, and without heart. A cold woman, but a rich one.

And she could afford to buy the ear of any politician, which she frequently did to reduce the taxes on her precious cargo ships and warehouses.

Her family had dwelt in Palanthus for many generations, and for that reason, they had asked her to chair the secret meeting. She studied each of the mercenaries that had answered the call in turn. Her smile was slow, and cynical.

“You will not know me above ground. When we meet on the streets, you will not speak to me. That is for my safety and yours. But I will aid you, anyway I can. I have a map of the Guild for you, but you must gain entry through cunning and wit. You cannot just attack the place for the guards are too many and you will die. The method of choice is yours. And I am sure that the assassins among you can testify that the rite of passage into an Assassin’s Guild is no easy task”. She waited for her words to sink in.

“You may contact me through the baker, on 6th street. He can be trusted for the moment. He can also be bought, as can many in Palanthus, so watch your backs. We will not meet here again, so do not bother to mark this place. Ask me your questions” she invited. To be or not to be, ay there's the point,

Three weeks travel did not work well with Raq. By the time she reached Palanthas, she was hungry, tired, and pale. Her once greatly tanned skin had somehow lost all it's color and turned to a sickly pale. SHe walked up to the gates of Palanthas.

"papers, milady?" a guard asked seriously.

"I am here under the order of Ramer Gut, to be hired under the Assasin's Guild of Palathas." She said smoothly, her words crisp.

"He would of given you papers."

"Fool." She said quietly, "Do you think that the Master of the Assasin's Guild would leave Palanthas, and someone else could take them! i have no papers, now let me through, unless you want to take the matter up to him."

The guard was not stupid, and talking to Ramer was the easiest way to die an early death.

"Very well," He said with a sigh, "You will be watched, however."

Raquel nodded, and walked in smoothly. She walked up the baker that messenger had told her about, and knocked.

"What is it?" He said gruffly, "I"m closed."

"I"m looked for Giraz."

"The big house."

"Thank you, milord." Raquel walked off, and marveled how Palanthas could have sunk this low. Knocking on the door of th Giraz, she hopped, a girl with steely blue eyes opened the door.

"Yes?"

"I"m looking for Lady Giraz, i am Raquel, here to help. I was talked to by Sacor, and i want to be payed."

As he walked back to Palanthas the young man stopped. "I must go now to other cities." "Ok.. don't worry I will get threw," said Auron. The young man turned an ran back down the road and into the shadows. Auron slowly walked down the path.

He could see that there were 4 guards standing ready to attack anything that dare moved. He walked up to them and they all moved out of his way. As soon as he passed the guards moved back into their places. He smiled. He walked up to the bakery and knocked on the door.

"I said go away." The baker opened the door and stood back in horror. "Please, no." The baker fell to his knees. "Please Auron don't kill me."

"I am not here to kill you, but I would like to know where this Giraz is." Auron said in a deep and chilling voice. "In the big house." The baker said with his head down. "Why do you want to know?"

The baker asked as he raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to kill Ramer Gut for us?" "I will try because he has cheated me." He turned and headed to the house where they were supposed to meet. As he walked he saw that someone was already there and talking to this so called Giraz.

He walked up. "Are you Lady Giraz? I am Auron, here to help kill that cheater Ramer Gut. I caught one of your runners, and I figure sense he has cheated me he shall pay dearly... with his life.

Bummet slapped the young man on the back. "Well thanks kid this has been the most dead boring trip through the sea and wilderness I have ever been through. If you would just learn to talk once and a while....Oh well whatever."

"Yes sir."

"And for the final time dont call me sir! My father was a knight I am not!" Bummet almost yelled at him. "Now fairwell."

"Bye sir, it has been an honor."

"Whatever." Bummet said under his breath.

Bummet walked up the the city gates and gaped at the colors of them, they had once been bright with color now it was faded away with lack of care. Then he looked at the gateway itself. There were 7 figures of men that seemed to be guards standing erect and watching. Bummet brushed his shoulder length hair out of his face and a smile slowly spread over his face. "This might prove to be fun after all." he whispered to himself.

"Hault!" The gaurd shouted at him.

"Hault yourself."

At that comment the seven gaurds gathered around him ready to do some heavy damage. "What give you the right to talk to a royal guard of Palanthis like that?" The guard said angrily.

"Nothing, now what gives you the right to breath in my face and practically drool on my chest like that?" Bummet asked calmly.

"I can do whatever I want this is MY city."

"Oh really? I thought it belonged to Ram her Gut or what ever that pomus fool's name is." Bummet said suddenly.

All of the seven gaurds suddenly started to get mad and the lead one asked him how he dared to insult thier leader. Bummet looked into his eyes and said "Easy!" Then he Punched him right in the gut as hard as he could. Then as quick as lightning he whipped out his sword that he kept strapped to his back and cut the leg off of the guard behind him. Then when that guard fell to the ground he grabbed them through between his legs and used him as a shield as another guard from the side of him tried to slice him one. Then he swung his sword wildly to the left of him and cut off a guard's head clean. The guard in his arms was now dead with a couple of sword wounds so he dropped him and ran straight for another guard nocked the guard on his ass.

Now there were two dead and another five left alive, plus Bummet was now not surrounded. The five were lined up in front of him one was still on the ground trying to recover from the hit in the gut. two of the guard came rushing after Bummet with thier swords drawn. The instant the reached Bummet he ducked down on the ground and rolled grabbing a handful of dirt. The guards looked at him like he was an idiot and went in for the kill. Bummet threw the dirt in thier eyes and stabbed one in the heart and ripped upwards displaying they guards insides for anyone that was watching. Than he slammed the other one in the head with the back stroke making brains splatter on his face.

Tow more guards the one on the ground has now recovered. One ran off. "Probably to go tell good old Ram Her Guy himself." Bummet laughed. Bummet put his sword away and pulled out a dagger and threw it right at the mans heart, killing him. He walked over to the body and picked up his dagger. "Enter in with a bang, thats what I always say."

"Run! Run!" A man came running toward him. He smelled like freshly baked bread and muffins. "Who the hell are you?" Bummet asked scratching his ass.

"I'm the baker, but thats not important. Follow me and I will take you to Lady Giraz. I do take it you are here to kill Ramer Gut right?"

"Damn straight!" Bummet said.

“Come back tomorrow”. The maid closed the door and went back into the house.

Above stairs Giraz was sitting at her table in the study reading through her accounts.

“Who was that, Celine?” the woman asked.

“No one” lied the maid.

Jareth was slightly anxious. Though it was hard to tell. He had been summoned by Ramer Gut himself. Many knew of his bracer, which was probably the reason he was summoned.

They we're letting him wait a long time however. He had been sitting here all morning, wondering why he had been summoned. His assassin skills were good. But not that good, at least he didn't think they were that good.

He was jerked out of thought by a door opening. One of the 'personal guards' peeked through. Saw Jareth and motioned to him. "He will see you now.' He whispered.

Jareth slowly got up and stealthily walked to the door, where he slipped in soundlessly. All assassins did this, mainly to keep up practise.

BIC:

Ramer Gut was not what people expected. It always gave him a small thrill when he saw that flicker of surprise dance through the eyes of the man, woman or child standing before him.

They would hear the tales, doubtless, some would have lost family or friends…or land and they always imagined someone big, larger than life. Ramer Gut was not big. They never saw him coming…

(Think ‘Al Pacino’ in ‘The Devil’s Advocate’).

He turned to the newcomer and smiled. It was pure evil.

“So you are the man who will kill the Mayor for me?”, he asked. His look said that he would like to see the man try. “He is not a stupid man”. He said it as if he found that most of the time, most of the people he destroyed were indeed, just that!

“You can understand why I cannot use my own men in a job so close to the senate. I rarely involve myself in politics, but the influence of a certain young woman, who has gained the Mayor’s ear, makes his death, …necessary”.

His eyes were cold.

“What makes you think you can do the job, Jareth?”.

MEANWHILE…

The young woman heard the shouts from down below and knew that if she did not act quickly, the guards would be upon her house. She ran down the stairs, expecting an invasion of the city, a fire, or worse!

What she saw were three people. Travel stained and weary- and not of noble birth by their dress. She looked down her nose at them.

“Explain the reason for such a wild outcry. This is a respectable area, not a zoo!” she said with disdain. To be or not to be, ay there's the point,

She was an assassin, and she had no heart.

Jen Ruby was painting her lips with the bloodied tip of her dagger, when the priest returned to his church. H saw the dead nun on the floor, her eyes glazed over with terror.

“This is an outrage!”, he screamed out. “The gods will punish you for this”. Jen Ruby laughed and skipped down from the altar on which she had been perched, waiting.

She was youthful. She had the face of an angel, the nubile body of a temptress and the soul of a killer. She was beyond redemption.

“Old Fool! There are no Gods! No one can save you. If you do not pay the protection money to Ramer Gut, you will die. You know the rules. You are helpless. No one can save you!”.

Jen Ruby walked away from the church. She left six religious corpses in her wake- all unburied.

“No on can save you from Jen Ruby!”.

Her laughter faded into the darkness...

Taken slightly aback by the request and the look of Ramer Gut, Jareth tried to keep his cool. It was obvious he was not one to toy with. When Ramer said he wanted the mayor dead, he meant it. Jareth immedeately ran options through his head. And figured out several possibilities.

"Because, I can move around unseen." he said. Trying to match the level expression. However due to his youth, he was unsuccesfull.

It was true however, he was a master of the shadows. But he also knew how to be inconspicuous, he could move around a crowds without being noticed. Though there were those who were slightly better than him. None of them had his bracer of course. The hidden magical blade could cut through almost anything. Of course he never mentioned it, it would make him an instant target.

"Would you like the woman killed as well?" Jareth tried. Gaining Gut's favor was the most important thing at the moment. Otherwise everything would be a failure.

Ramer’s face expressed nothing of his emotion, but it was hard to say if a creature like Gut had emotions.

“I think not Jareth”, Ramer said, his voice hard. “Killing a mayor will result in a new election and nothing more. Yonas Vale is replaceable in the eyes of the people. Giraz Nevymar is not”. Ramer began to pace the room, his tread soft and silent, like that of any highly skilled assassin. His every step was watched by a thousand eyes. The horde of Master Assassins, (for only those of the highest rank were allowed in his presence and survived), in the council room of the Guild eyed him warily.

He had something on all of them. He was a man who knew your weakness and homed in on it, twisted and used it for his own purpose without conscience. As a result, he owned you for life. It was a love-hate relationship, which had lasted for many decades, because you never knew when he would strike.

Ramer Gut was hard to kill. That was another reason to fear him. Some said he was best. Some said he was already dead! Rumors were duplicitous things. Hard to tell fact from fiction. Truth from lies.

“Killing Nevymar was easy. Killing his daughter would only turn her into a martyr. I cannot afford martyrs. It gives the people hope. I want Palanthus to realize that it has no hope!”

His eyes glinted, as dark as coal.

“I have plans of my own for that particular young lady”.

Jareth had once been slightly too careless, and killed two guards in an assassination. His client wasn't too happy about that. So he always asked what he had to look for.

For some reason he wanted to be out of Ramer presence as soon as possible. There was something not right about him that made his skin crawl. His edgyness was slightly visible. Why is it we always forget to keep the good things close to our heart, but let the bad things cloud our mind.

"Hello." she said to the girl, "Sorry i'm standing in your house, but when the maid said you were busy, i had to go investigate. I didnt steal anything, i'm only a mercenary without money. Oh yes, and i would like to kill this Ramer for you, assuming the price is right."

“Just One perquisite” said Ramer with a smile that made your skin crawl. “Take his ring when you are done. The late Nevymar presented it to him. I want you to post it to Giraz, of the house of Nevymar when you are done. See that you deliver the item personally. She will know the meaning of the message. You understand. Good. That is all”.

IN THE HOUSE OF NEVYMAR

Giraz’s eyes opened wide. What was this idiot girl doing, announcing to the entire world that she wanted Ramer Gut dead? Had the girl no sense of subtlety. Giraz shook her head. She needed professionals not circus clowns!

She shook her head, her eyes cold, and her face grim and expressionless.
“I don’t know what you are talking about. See those guards”, she said looking past the open door to the guards who were running towards her house. “They will be here in five minutes. I suggest you run away before they reach my doorway, otherwise they will arrest you and I will do nothing to prevent it. You have brought the eye of the law to my house and that I do not need!” she snapped.

Worst of all the maid had overheard everything. The maid who was Ramer's spy! Inside Giraz was screaming her frustration.

After Jareth had departed the council room, Jen Ruby slipped out from the shadows and went to stand before her master.

“Why him? You know that I can kill Yonas Vale without anyone knowing it was I. Your name will not be involved”, she said in a sulky voice.

Ramer turned to the girl and smiled.

“You’re upset because I went elsewhere for this job. It is a delicate task and you can sometimes be…” he searched for the right word, so as not offend the young vixen, “blunt at times” Ramer finished.

Jen Ruby took out a dagger and toyed with the sharp edge. She bent her head so that her master could not see what was in her eyes.

“And if I happen to meet the mayor before this foreign assassin does?” she purred. Ramer started to laugh, heartily enjoying the game.

I suggest you run away before they reach my doorway, otherwise they will arrest you and I will do nothing to prevent it. You have brought the eye of the law to my house and that I do not need!” she snapped.

"Nonsense." she said and casually slipped farther into the house. THe house was silence, but she cocked her head to the upstairs, as if she had heard something. "Lady Giraz," She said, every note of amusement out of her voice, "Is someone up there? Becuase if there is, I think we're all screwed."

With another grin, she ran into the house, and it appeared as if no one was there.

(OOC: Excellent!! Fast forwarding to the night. If that is okay, otherwise this is what will happen in the night)

A small owl flew through the night air. It had been hunting and was going to take a breather. It landed on branch. The tree stood in the middle of a courtyard, a courtyard of a very large building. The owl didn't really care about that sort of thing of course. Human beings were strange, with their tall makings. Everything around the owl was still, except for the occasionall clatter humans walking around.

Then the owl noticed something. A shade moving in the corner of his eyes. The owl focused on it, but it was gone. It sniffed the air, but he couldn't smell anything. Quickly it scanned the premises, then found it again. Just a shade moving allong the wall. Making absolutely no sound. It quickly made it's way to the building, and was on the roof in a blink.

The owl found it interested, so it flew closer. The shadow had gone into the building at some point. So the owl went to that place. It landed in the window opening. Peeking in it saw the the shade standing over another person. Then there was flash of silver, a muffled grunt, and silence. The shadow moved closer to the body. But the owl couldn't see wat it was doing. Then the shadow moved at the window. The owl immediately flew of, out of the way of the shadow. Which he could see moving along the rooftops.

-----------------------------------

"Lady Giraz?".

Giraz woke with a start. Standing in a dark part of the room was a person.
"Who are you, how did you get in here?" She demanded.

"A message for you." The voice said. And threw her a wrapped peace of cloth. She caught it and unwrapped it. It took her a moment to realize it was a finger with a ring on it. The mayor's ring, the gift from her family.

"How did you get this." She said directing her attention at the person. But there was no one there. Not even the flutter of curtains.

-----------------------------------

Next morning the news of the mayor's beheading was all over the city. Many voices silently implicated Gut. But no one could prove it. The guards were at a loss. No one had heard anything. The maid had just found his body decapetated in his bed, missing one finger.

(OOC: There. How's that for an assasination? Sorry for the whole fast forward thing. If you want something to happen in advance, I guess you have to state it in your post. Oh and sorry for bodysnatching Giraz. If you don't like the way I did that part. Bummet wasn't short, didn't have a beared, and wasn't staggering or stumbling while he was walking because he hadn't been drinking a drop. Bummet had a soft place for retards in his heart so he decided he would be nice to the mentally challenged person that had just walked up to him and struck him in the face.

Talking to the person like one would to a dog he said. "He there boy!" and patting him on the head "I think that your master has some yummy treats for you! now go take your medicine!" Then he walked away kind of irritated at what happened.

He easily moved through the streets. People didn't mind him, he was as inconspicuous as ever.

He quickly made his way to Ramer's place. Of course no one in his right mind would take the front door. So he used the standard assasins entrance (just a little joke) to get inside.

There he waited to be summoned to see Ramer.

The dagger slipped between his shoulder blades as easily as a hot knife through melting butter. A shadow slipped out from the darkness.

“Be still or this dagger will sink deeper and find its mark”, the deep timbered voice whispered in his ear. “Turn around slowly, and keep your hands where I can see them”, the man ordered.

It was then that Jareth met Kremlin. He was a tall man with a sharply featured face. His most distinctive feature was a scar that ran across his left cheek. His eyes were dark, and focused now on his prey.

“I have heard of you, Jareth”, Kremlin said. The dagger was held to the assassin’s jugular now. Kremlin could feel the rapid beat of the pulse beneath his blade. “Killing Yonas Vale was nicely done and I can appreciate the subtlety of it, but I know that a man of your exceptional talents would not travel so far from home just to kill a mere mayor. Therefore, I must conclude that your true target is another. That too does not take a leap of faith to deduce. You are here to kill Ramer are you not? And I can guess who put you up to it. Admit it. You are nothing more than the guard-dog of Jerez Nevymar!”

Jareth was silent for the longest time and Kremlin showed his impatience. “Fool. Do you think I would harm my own half-sister?” Kremlin demanded. “Admit the truth to me and together we can get Jerez safely out of town before Ramer discovers what she has plotted against him, and the blood tie she bears to me. This plot will not succeed young Jareth. No one can kill Ramer Gut. I have seen many try and fail”.To be or not to be, ay there's the point,

Ruby did nothign but stare, so Raq left, whistling to herself. Looking at impressive building called teh Assasin's Guild, she quietly dashed down teh street, quiet and lithe as a jaguar. Finding a window, she saw two figures slightly show up from light in the room. Sitting down in the windowsill, she caught the majority (she hoped) of the converstaion.

You are nothing more than the guard-dog of Jerez Nevymar! Fool. Do you think I would harm my own half-sister? Admit the truth to me and together we can get Jerez safely out of town before Ramer discovers what she has plotted against him, and the blood tie she bears to me. This plot will not succeed young Jareth. No one can kill Ramer Gut. I have seen many try and fail”.

Another one, she thought, this place is crawling with assasins and Nevymars!

She studied them both. One she'd got a small description of from her friends in Sanction: Jareth, they called him. The other was related to Jerez (Giraz?) Nevymar, and looked like he worked for Gut. He had 'The Look'.

"Well," She whispered to herself, "He's never seen me try to kill anyone then." As for Jareth, he needed to go. Pulling out a small bladed dagger she patted it lovingly. "My favorite throwy." Aiming it a Jareth's head, she threw it. Slipping out of the window, and the wooshing of the blade split the air.

She didnt realize she'd left something behind in the windowsill- her identification for Sanction. It had her name and picture on it.

Kremlin laughed softly at the false bravado in the assassin’s words.

“Brave words my reckless friend, but words are cheap!” Kremlin shook his head. “If an assassin wants to kill Ramer, he has to do something that goes against his very nature. By trait, assassins are solitary creatures and that is their weakness. It is what has led Ramer to the top. Knowledge of that weakness and the ability to put it to good use. My friend, to kill Ramer, an assassin must ally himself with another of his kind and that goes against the grain. No man can kill Ramer alone. It is a job for a group…but alas; such things are impossible for an assassin can never truly turn his back on another assassin, can he? He will never know whose gold truly fills the other man’s purse!”.The time has come, the Walrus said, to speak of many things. Of ships and shoes and sealing wax. Of cabbages and kings.

"Are you making a proposal?" Jareth mocked, this assasin wasn't just going to let him go. He wanted something. So he might as well play along, he had little other choice.

"You were stalking me girl" spat out Jen Ruby. "That is reason enough. If anyone has some fast talking to do, it is you and that companion of yours- who you had thrown into jail. A plan concocted by the two of you no doubt". Jen Ruby looked to her guards and then grinned.

"This is Palanthus and Rammer rules in this place. I could have the two of you beheaded and none would say nay. Now, both of you: talk! Why are you here and what is your connection with Geraz Nevymar? My spies tell me that the two of you were making a disturbnace outside her door early this morn and then, both of you were seen slipping in through her front door. Her door is always watched and now it seems; it was with good reason".

Kremlin paused for the longest time.

"Take my sister away from Palanthus safely and then I will lead you to Rammer myself" said Kremlin. The dagger was still in place. Trust never cae easy to an assassin.

OOC: Go for it! This thread is supposed to be twisty with betrayals and backstabbing at every turn...its the nature of the Guild.

Kremlin slowly felt a blade being eased against his neck. "Very well," a voice very like that of Jareth said, "we'll get your sister out of the city. Any preference in how?"

Were Kremlin to look around, he would see someone exactly like Jareth. However, the blade is extending from a bracer on his left arm instead of the right. He was wearing a wicked grin from ear to ear, well almost.

"Mistress Ruby." Raq said crisply. "I dont meant to contradict your word, (especially when your stoned, she added mentally) but if, even if i WAS here to assasinate Ramer, i would not stoop as low as to ally with a loud, obnoxious, retarted, and obviously drunk idiot like him."

Shooting Bummet a look for effect, she continues. "I am here, in Palanthas to seek a job from Ramer Gut. I have heard he pays well, and i am well skilled in my art. From a mistaken contact i thought that Miss Nevymar could provide me with that job. Since she was not answering the door, i assumed i would go in and she if was simply ignoring me. Since the upstairs was guarded and the downstairs held no items of interest, i left, and ran into this moron, who was shouting to assassinate the person who would pay me. Dead, Ramer would not pay me, so i had to end that. Seeing how you took care of the matter, i assumed you had some posistion in his favor. I was going to wait until you were done with this fool, then i would ask. That's why i was following you. Plus, i wanted to see how you would react."

“And now you know£ said Ruby. She turned her attention tot eh other man behind bars who had kept silent all this while.

“And your defence?” she asked. But the man said nothing. Tiring of the interrogation, Jen Ruby turned away from the two prisoners and gave instructions to the guards.

“Let them sweat it out in the cells for a while. Maybe the rats and damp will make them tell the truth in a few days”. She left them then.

With that, she crawled out of the window and headed over the the large, squat, building that was looking very intimidating. She found a window easily and sat in teh sill. from here, she noticed two figures, talkign.

“It seems we have an impasse,”

Both looked like assassins. Damn, she thought, this place is crawling wit them!

Pulling out a real knife. She aimed it at the man on the left (Kremlin) and let it fly. The only sound was the whistling of the wind and the sound of paper flapping, and Raq was gone. However, she left somethign rather important on the windowsill: Her ID to Sanction.

On the paper it said.

Assassin-
If you wish to kill Gut, come to the library tonight. Assuming you're still alive, and your comrad is too.

It was an east feat to grab the knife that had flown through the air, a lucky one, for now Kremlin had a second dagger in his possession; one he was able to train at heart level on to the second figure.

“Well boys, we could stand here like statues till the night patrol finds us. Not a possibility I relish. Or we could go follow that darting shadow just slipping round the corner and discover who it was that just broke out of Ramer’s prison? I very much doubt if it was a good friend of the Prefect. Both were exactly alike. The only thing that was different, were the bracers. Which were on different arms.

Geraz Nevymar was not an important woman, she was not skilled with a blade and she lacked any true ambition.

What she was was smart. Smart had kept her alive in a world where skill with the blade was valued, and she had none.

Her beauty had won her the ear of the Mayor of Palanthus but Vale was now dead- killed by orders from Ramer Gutt, she was sure of that.

As she sat brooding by the window of her bedroom, a slight noise caught at her attention. She turned and saw something that was unexpected for one who led such a completely well planned existence.

Geraz's face revealed her shock and surprise. She rose to her feet, tipping over the chair in her agitation and wonder.

"But it can't be" she gasped, as she faced what could only be a ghost. "You're dead!".

The ghost walked over to her confidently and as the ray of sunlight struck his well remembered face, Geraz knew that he was as alive as she was.

She ran into his arms and was caught in a warm embrace.

Yonas Vale was laughing openly, and chiding her tears.

"Did you really that Gutt could kill me so easily? Have you never heard of a body double Geraz. In these dark times, politicians find them very useful. the assassins killed my bodyguard, Lenard- a good soldier...he will ne missed. He has my face, its a flawless copy...", Yonas grinned, "I think he even managed to fool you a couple fo times, dear Geraz".

The girl stared at him in wonder.

"Who else knows that you live?" she whispered for she did not want the walls to hear these glad tidings.

"Only you" Yonas whispered back. "Come, we must make plans. Ramer Gutt will be at his weakest when he is most confident that an enemy is no longer a threat...i.e. dead. We must act while the iron is hot!".

Geraz simply grinned boldly and nodded her fair head of hair.

Kremlin let his gaze run over every inch and crevice of the library and then turned it back to the twins.

“It’s empty,” he said. He leaned back against one of the old tables and began to idly play with his knife.

“So tell me what brings you two here- surely not to work for a man like Ramer Gutt, I would have though such a menial task beneath the likes of such nobility?”

OOC:

A noble is an assassin who has reached the top of his skill level i.e. a Master Assassin.
