He studied the statue before him and made a quick estimate as to how much it would way. He spilled out a little of the sand and then rubbed his fingers together, in anticipation. Sweat collected on his brow.

“Easy does it!” said Mikada as she watched him carefully ease the gold figure of the dragon away from the pedestal and then replace it with the bag of sand. It worked.

The sigh she let out was explosive.
“Made it!” she said, with growing excitement. Lore turned to her, a triumphant smile crossing his face, mimicking her own. The smile quickly disappeared when they heard the grinding sound of the stone pedastal as it began to sink into the ground. A loud growl was coming from the end of the dark corridor. Their eyes met.

Kale had awoken…

OOC: I'm going LOTR here..go legolas. I suppose we'll realy go crazy with this one ne?^^; Fun! Just mix a bunch of movies together!

BIC: Legolas glared among the wreck of a tomb that had stood for possibly thousands of years. He'd noticed, with all troubles on the mind, that two people had gone into these ancient ruins, for what reason he had yet to determine. He'd lived this way for many a year, and this was not the first time he'd seen someone go that way...to never come out again.

He quickly moved towards the thing, squeezing in through a tunnel that he'd been through before. He crept silently down the paths, never daring to utter a sound, untill he reached what he had come to find. Voices could be heard, though he could not pinpoint their locations untill he turned to corner, his eyes widening in a shock no elf had ever thought of before. They where unlocking it!!

"What are you doing?!" He screamed, running towards them...but it was too late..it had been undone...

OOC: eh? eh?? I like this idea. I think I can run with it, but Zi won't write that often, so I might as well not make myself a big character. who cares?! This is great!

“Run!”

Lore pelted down the tunnel, the gold figure of the dragon clutched in his arms, a frantic look clear in his dazed eyes. Mikada came tumbling after him. In the dark, the loud echo of thunder followed in their wake. Kale had rolled himself into a giant dragon ball and was rolling in their wake.

OOC: The pit!! w00t!!!

BIC: Legolas screached, runing quickly after the creature and the people who where trying desperately to get out of the place in one piece. He took a tunnel he knew well, running out somewhat ahead of the group. As they...fell into a lovely pit, he snatched them up, screaming a ton of elven, in such a way that it was hard to understand. He glared at them uneasilly.

"Hello?? Didn't you hear what I just said?!" He quieted his voice, affraid that the large thing would return for a second, and catch up with them.

"Anyhow...what the hell do you think you're doing in ere anyhow?? This is sacred territory!!! You're....tresspassing." He sighed, flipping a blonde bang with the rest, unhooking his bow.

"You're leaving." He srung an arrow, glaring at them.

“I would love to do nothing else but leave this dragon cursed place!” shouted Mikada, covertly sliding out a dagger from her boot for good measure (she did not trust people easily, especially not the pointed ears variety of people- they were too stuffy and too lawful).

“But the think is elf- it might not be as easy as just walking out a front door!”

OOC: Oh cool, I thought this one was well and truly buried! :-)

“Sure thing elf!” joked Mikada. She winked at her companion and rolled her eyes heavenward. Elves! They thought they were the be all and end all at times. The two thieves darted their eyes about in the dark tunnel.

“Well Blondie- you got the eyes, you lead the way!” ventured Lore with a frown. He knew that if it were him, he would not turn his back on a stranger but the elf looked like he was confident of his reflexes to do just that. Not that Mikada and Lore would ever thing of stabbing someone in the back- it went against the grain. They were thieves, not assassins!

Another rumble announced that Kale was not finished with them yet.

OOC: Well, this is one of my first online RPG's, so i'm just gonna try and roll with it. If i'm allowed to play, that is.

Va'dar shifted his huge bulk to squeeze through the small opening to the tomb. The large door was only half open, a sign that something small had come through here. He made a sniff, his giant bull-like nostrils flaring at the scent of stale air. He shook himself off, as the dust from the sides of the entrance had clung to his fur stubbornly. The 8ft tall Minotaur squinted his eyes in the darkness until his eyes adjusted properly.

He took in a deep breathe before he went in, stopped, and opened his mouth wide.

"Aaah-whoo!" He sneezed and coughed a bit. "Bad air..." he said quietly to himself.

As Va'dar walked along the path toward the main hall of the tomb, he noticed that several traps had been sprung. Sharp pikes stuck out of the wall, but there was no blood on them.

After a minute or two, the warrior heard voices coming from about 50ft ahead of him. Crouching down to about 6ft, he crept as silently as he could to the side of the wall, attempting to keep hidden in the shadows. He unhooked his large warhammer from the holder on his back, and held it tight, adrenalin gripping him when he heard -

" “I suggest you make your mind up quickly chum”" After a loud rumble from further down the tunnel.

The elf glared at the two theives, piercing blue eyes narrowing dangerously, arrow still cocked and ready to fling.

"First thing. I have a name. I am not a chum. I am Legolas." He spat on the ground, walking forward with a slight motion of his hand to signal following. He continued on, turning the corner with a shreak, arrow pointed directly at a huge animal. It was a good thing he'd spotted him.

OOC:I know. I felt like finding it again and being strange. This could be a beginners place i guess. Hey new dude, nice to see you're interested. You could join us in OOC: Eswiftfire. Va'dar stopped dead. Every muscle in his body seemed to tighten, his eyes fixed straight ahead of him, and his heart seemed to stop. He'd thought he had hidden well! Hmm... he might have hidden well among his kind, but not against one with elvensight. He recognized the almond eyes and angular face immediately.

Va'dar made no move to attack, he held his hammer the same what it was before, not moving it for fear he would be shot.

Finally, the great buffoon remembered to breathe. He snorted in a breath that might have sounded to the unaided ear like some sort of noise a bull would make before attacking.

Vad'ar's eyes locked onto Legolas'. Whereas other minotaurs rushed into battle relying completely on brute strength, this was not so for him. The Minotaur's eyes sparkled with intelligence of more than just the battlefield. This was a rare occurance among his kind.

He spoke in clear common language, with an odd accent. "I... uh... Hullo." The warrior stuttered slightly. His voice was a deep baritone, nearly shaking the walls with his proximity to them. OOC: Definitely! Welcome to the boards man! And you have to meet eliar at some point; he’s practically a legend in this place, and he will definitely make you laugh.

BIC:

Mikada rolled her eyes up at Lore. T-O-U-C-H-Y she mouthed at her disreputable companion and Lore nodded.

“Very well, Legolas” said Lore. “My name is Lore and this is my apprentice, Mikada. We are explorers and we would appreciate your assistance in avoiding becoming dragon food”, he quipped. Explorers my ass, but he was hardly going to admit the truth to a snobbish elf!

And then the other man appeared and Lore and Mikada gazed at him with open mouths.

“Who are you?” Miakada demanded. “By Paladin! You made me jump! I thought for a moment that Kale was already upon us!”

The minotaur looked at the newcomers, Legolas, Lore and Mikada. He blinked for a second, then let his tense muscles relaxed, and his hammer lowered slightly. He looks at each of the three in front of him in turn before Mikada speaks, then he almost jumps in the air, his muscles retensing.

"I... I'm Va'dar." He said simply, raising a clawed hand to scratch an inch atop his head.

"I saw the door open at the entrance, and I thought someone might be inside, where they shouldn't be... so I came... and inspected.... and... now it's now." Va'dar said slowly, to keep his words clear and understandable. He didn't sound stupid, it sounded simply like he was taking his time to use the correct words in a second language.

"Uh. Who're you, and why are you down here?" The minotaur asked quietly, glancing around the cave at the rugged walls and ceiling. He thought he heard a distinct rumble."Hope is the denial of reality. Oh ho, so this is Kale’s guard then, thought Mikada, and her mind raced quickly for a palpable excuse as to why she and her brother were lurking uninvited in the dark corners of Krynn.

“We are explorers, Va’dar” she lied glibly. “Architects and we came this way to study the ancient cave writings that liter these walls. Unfortunately our studies seem to have disturbed the sleep of the golden dragon that dwells within this cave, through no intention of our own”.

That part at least was true. They had hoped to slip in, steal the statue and be out again before the mighty Kale had so much as batted an eyelid. And, if this crazy elf and big goon would step out of their way, Mikada knew that they could do just that.

“We must hurry, Va’dar,” Lore said, his fear beginning to show in his eyes. “Kale will be upon us all soon and I doubt that he will be willing to listen to reason from ant race other than his own”.The time has come, the Walrus said, to speak of many things. Va'dar's eyes narrowed at the two thieves, and he seemed to be working something out for a moment. Kale is a Golden Dragon, which means he is a good Dragon... so that means...

"As you say, Kale is a Golden Dragon, which means he is a Dragon of good. He would not harm you..... unless..."

Va'dar growled at them, his eyes narrowing even more, flashing dangerously in the firelit light of the cavern. He raised his hammer in his right arm slightly, though not making any actual attacking gestures. He pointed with his other hand, a long, strong finger tipped with a sharp claw. He was pointing at the three of them, when he spoke.

"Your lying. What did you do?" The minotaur said, his voice growing lower and taking on a rough texture. "Hope is the denial of reality. It is the carrot dangled before the draft horse to keep him plodding along in a vain attempt to reach it." –Raistlin, Dragons of Autumn Twilight

Mikada and Lore shared a quick glance and then both siblings immediately lifted their arms into the air in quick surrender.

“Why’d you make him mad?” Lore accused.

“I didn’t make him mad!”, Mikada snapped back at her younger brother.

“Mikada, say something nice to the mad cow before he uses that ugly hammer on us!” Lore demanded.

Mikada eyed the sharp edge of the hammer and then plastered her best smile on to her face. She was an attractive woman when she remembered to be so, and she now exerted the full force of her charisma onto the menacing Minotaur.

“Now now, Va’dar dear”, she said, taking a tentative step towards him. “I can explain everything”. She side stepped the elf, and glared at him as she did so. But Legolas continued to watch her antics with a bored expression on his face and an amused glint in his eye.

“You’re no help at all!”, she whispered at him fiercely as she swept past, and then quickly sidled towards the entrance of the cave that was now well and truly blocked by one mad looking Minotaur.

“My brother and I told you the truth. We are students of archeology, nothing more”. She grabbed Lore’s hand in her own and dragged him with her. They would get out of this without having their heads chopped off, or fried alive by dragon breadth, she promised herself fiercely. They had got out of worse jams before!

“Nothing but the truth” she swore blindly. “Kale was sleeping till that one came along!”, she said, pointing an accusing finger at a surprised Legolas.

When Va’dar turned to look upon the elf, Mikada and Lore were quick to make use of the opportunity and flitted past the Minotaur and his lethal looking axe, and quickly darted out into the sunlight. The time has come, the Walrus said, to speak of many things. "Wait -- Nagrak!!" The Minotaur swore in his own language, after the two had run past him and out the door. He glanced once at the elf, with the bow still pointed at him and growled. He turned quickly and ran towards the door, which he couldn't fit through unless going sideways. Damned small humans, thought Va'dar.

Va'dar, not giving himself time to squeeze through properly, charged the door with one arm above his head. His large legs brought to him the blessing of large running strides, getting to the stone door within moments.

Colliding with the door with such intensity that he might have knocked over a dragon, Va'dar purposely smashed into the door and pushed with all his might. As soon as his body slammed against the cold stone, the door leaned forward and fell with a loud crack against the forest floor. Va'dar scrambled over the door, going over top of it when he then looked around for a moment to see those who were running from him. The minotaur's sharp ears picked up Mikada and Lore about 50 ft away, heading away from the cavern. He saw them after a moment, and, snorted in a breath through his large nostrils, he leaped off in the direction and started to go at a sprint.

"Come back here, Thieves!" He roared in the Minotaur language (OOC: I'm not actually sure if they have their own) and raised his hammer high as he kept up his speed, his long strides taking him past tree's and bushes that were only a blur.
