Nakria paced the small confines of her cage, struggling in vain not to panic. Finally, weary and weak, she lay down on the straw strewn floor. Her green eyes where closed to the midday sun, her once prisine, white fur was dirty and tangled. Her captors had left the beads and feathers braided in her fur, they said it made her seem more barbaric.

Her right forpaw was wrapped in old, bloodstained linen, evidence of the trap that had caught her. she licked her bandaged paw absently, hoping to clear some of the dirt from the wound. A gold rin hung from her left ear, and it sported three small silver chains, each holding a charm, two stars and a moon. Brightly colored leather bracers graced each leg, each had a different brilliant design.

Her name was Nakira MoonFlower...she was a wolf. well, she looked like a wolf anyway. She was once a Kagonesti elf, and was changed to her present form as a result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time....the dark elf that turned her as such was exiled from silvanesti, the only home Nakira had ever known, and was never heard from again... To this day, no one had been able to change her back.

now, at 45 winters, Nakira had no desire to return to her true form. she had come to like this one, and didn't want to change....though at this moment, she would've considered it. They called her a "freak", though a wolf, she could still talk like any other...Kagonesti, Silvanesti, and Common...she hunted, shopped when she didn't give the merchant a heart attack, and loved to converse with many people.

she stood again, and paced the cage, her nerves finally worn to their frayed edges. "LET ME OUT!!!" She howled, her teeth bared in furious frustration. Her muzzle and head nearly fit through the bars of the cage, the cold iron laying against the blue triangular tattoo on her left cheek. She struggled in vain to shoulder her way through the bars.

" Oh please shut up!" yelled the chief tribesman sitting at the fire. He did not want to have to get up in the middle of his dinner.

" Quaide! Feed the beast!"

A giant standing eight feet tall barged out of one of the hay huts in the small village. He rested his two sided hammer down on the ground. He walked over to a barrel, which gave off a horrible stench. After taking out a piece of meat, Quaide walked over to the cage. He threw the stinking piece of meat into the cage.

" Happy now!" roared the giant. If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

Zekinieon peered through the thick underbrush as he crouched on the ground. He survaed the camp with little interest until he saw the wolf. The wolf was an extremly beutiful creature, but was caged like a monsterous beast. He thought it strange that the wolf would be wearing such charms and other objects but he assumed they were from a friend.

Zekinieon slowly moved closer to the cage and away from the tribesmen. He shrunk back against the shadows and knelt down beside Nakira, "Do not worry, I'll shall free your noble spirit," he said in the Kagonesti tounge only hoping to calm the creature. Nakira gasped at the sound of her native language, but covered it as if she had hurt her paw again....she whined softly, then turned her emerald eyes to the stranger.

"Please! Let me out!" she whispered softly in Kagonesti. She was shaking all over...though she was once an elf...many of the wolf traits bred true in her change...her vision, her sense of smell...and her fear showed through her movements.....

"Please!?" she sobbed, sinking down to the floor of the cage...her nose tucked under one paw.Do you ever question your life?

Kayito paced the forest with an eerie grace. He was no elven, but his footing was sure, and little did a twig snap under his feet. His velvet and silken, purple robes glistend as shafts of sunlight streamed through the canopy above. Twas a pity night had not fallen yet, he preferred the dark....naturally. He was more powerful at such times, his magic was nearly tripled.

Harsh laughter reached his ears. The smell of smoke. His first impulse was to ignore it, merely someone travelling, setting up camp. But, an odd twinge nipped the back of his mind....he could remember the last time it had done so....and decided to take a peek.

Kayito was some distance away from the fire, and the cage holding the beast. He couldn't hear much, and wanted closer. Standing in amongst the shadows created by one of the oak trees, wisps, tindrels of dark wrapped themselves around him, covering, consuming, joining, until he merged with the shadows. Becoming one with them, he moved through the other dark areas, his vision altered to travel as such. The shadow cast by the cage would suffice for now.

Waiting there patiently, he was awe struck by the beauty of the wolf, though matted and filth ridden, the eyes spoke volumes more that any words could. And it could talk? Odd indeed, but he supposed not so in this day and age. Someone was helping her...yes it was female...the voice denotted that much....a slight accent to it. He recognised it but could put his finger on it. A shaft of sunlight pierced the cloud, striking the shadow he was in........pain!

He screamed metally, his form shifted, the dark receeded from him, he lay there exposed to the light.....panting in relief.....Damn!.Come see my site : http://pub63.ezboard.com/bthedream60488

Quaide has always felt bad for the wolf. He looked at her with sadness as he sat on a large rock. He would have let her out. However, orders are orders.

" Why wont you eat?" The giant asked in concern.

" Quaide! Do not converse with the animal!" the chief yelled from the fire.

" Yes chief,...sir." Quaide shut his mouth and looked straight at the ground. He stayed like that for a while, his long brown hair covering his face, till he heard the wolf begin to whisper.

" Who are you talking to?" Quaide asked in wonder.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The chief rose from his spot when he saw a man revealed in the sunlight.

" Spy!" shouted the chief. " Retrieve him!"

Five warriors sitting around the fire jumped up and sprinted towards the man. They hoisted him onto their shoulders and carried him to a large pole. After tieing him to it tightly and holding spears to his chest, the chief was ready for questioning.

" Who are you? What are you crazy? Do you know what we, the Yukalay tribe, do to spies?!" The chief was yelling so much, spit began to fly from his mouth. He realized the man was not answering. He calmed down then smiled from ear to ear.

" Oh we will not kill you yet! We will have a little fun first!" the chief gave a sinister laugh then shouted. " Quaide! Get the wolf!"

In hesitation, Quaide grabbed the vine leash and opened the cage door. With difficulty, Quaide put the wolf into a submission and managed to tie the leash around her neck. He dropped her to the ground and began to walk towards a large, caged circle. Trying to sustain all the bites and scratches the female wolf kept giving him, Quaide placed the wolf into a caged pen branching off from the large arena. Ten sliding sticks of bamboo seperated the pen from the arena.

The mysterious man was placed in the other pen on the other side.

" Let the battle begin!" roared the chief. The sliding doors were both opened............

Zekineon was taken aback for a moment as he heard the wolf speak but shrugged it off. He would hear her tale later but now he must free....He heard the sound of another and looked up only to see him get surronded by tribesmen. Zekineon quietly moved back to the trees in order to avoide detection, he would save the wolf but there were too many of them...

Zekineon whatched in horror as they put the two in an arena, they expected them to fight. Now, this quite enough for Zekineon he knocked an arrow in his longbow and fired at the one who was giving the orders.

They arrow found it's mark in the middle of the chief's back. He screamed in pain as several men turned to look at the arrow that had come from the trees. Zekineon quickly drew another arrow and shot down another one.

Nakira had had enough....she curled up in the center of the little cage they set her in...her emerald eyes locked onto her supposed opponant. "You're all insane...." she growled

She watched her supposed opponant and sighed.... her ears pricked up and she grinned, her sharp teeth exposed. She had a plan... She yelped suddenly as one of the men outside the little "arena" poked her with a spear. She turned to the man in the purple robes...and gave him a slow and deliberate wink. She crouched low, and circled him, hackles raised...

She watched him closely, hoping that he got the hint. She watched him closely, growling the whole time, keeping her teeth bared, hoping for a sign that he understood her ruse....Do you ever question your life?

Quaide stood in thought. Should he go to the chiefs aid, or shall he take another path. Quaide walked over to the hut and picked up his large two sided hammer. Arrows wizzed by his head. He gave his hammer a full swing and bashed the arena bamboo walls to pieces.

" Run wolf! Run!" Quaide shouted over the commotion. Quaide turned to see his tribesman staring at him in disbelief.

" You big stupid fool!" shouted the chief. He was coughing blood as he spoke.
" Kill him!" shouted the chief. At that moments four warriors ran forward to kill the betraying giant.

" Raaa!" Quaide gave his battle cry and ran forward. He swung his massive, double sided hammer, sending the first warrior smashing through a hut roof. The second and third warriors hesitated, remembering this was the same man who hand one battles for the Yukalay by himself. They toughened up and surrounded him, making it two versus one. Quaide skillfully spun his weapon. He knocked both warriors on the ground with the flailing massive stone blocks on each end of his stick. The fourth warrior was very short and was known for his fighting skills with a dagger. He held two and jumped onto Quaides back. He stabbed a few times on Quaides shoulder, then it mysteriously stopped. Quaide threw the man off and noticed an arrow in the mans back.

Quaide grabbed his shoulder in pain. Out of nowhere came three more warriors they threw a large rope net over Quaide and took him down with a loud thud. Quaide struggled but it did nothing. He didnt have the brains to get out of this one. He then looked up and through the rope netting he saw the wolf, the man from the arena, and a man with a bow running off.

" Help me! Please!" Quaide screamed. He managed to punch a warrior in the face, knocking him out cold. The other tribe warriors began trying to pierce his thick skin with thier spears. He roared in pain. If something did not happen soon, the giant will surely die........

"Koralindae fulgantai!"

Flames lept from the edge of the clearing, sped towards the remaining tribal warriors, and ran along the spearshafts. The smell of scorched skin filled the air to join the warriors' cries of pain and the clatter of the fallen weapons. The two who had been burned turned and ran as a man with a large red cloak stepped out from the woods.

Unarmed. Thin. Alone.

The third charged the newcommer.

Words came quickly to the man's lips, too soft to hear over the tribesman's battlecry. The mage made a complex hand gesture at his attacker, and waited patiently.

Nothing happened.

The barbarian shouted in triumph and lept at the mage full force, leading with his fists, intent on his victory. His cry was changed from one of bloodlust to surprise as the newcommer reached out calmly and clasped the huge man's wrist, turned, and tossed him onwards with seemingly little effort. The attacker's momentum carried him far into the canopy, tearing through the trees like some errant gnomish invention.

The stranger paused to smile at his handiwork and catch his breath for a moment, then turned and made for the downed Quaide.

Nakira ducked as several wooden splinters flew in her direction...the giant had shattered part of the arena... She looked To Kayito, noiced the spell he had cast. "Behind you!" she yelped, and darted through the opening in the cage.

"Where do you think you're going mutt?" Came a voice as a Vine snare fitted tightly around her neck. She Snarled, and realizing it was now or never, she darted through the tribesmen's legs, tripping him and tangling him in the rope in the process. The man fell, and the vine snapped under the weight.

She turned, torn between running for her life...or staying to try and help her newfound friends. She moved slowly through the shadows as she heard Quaide scream...her ears flicked up for a moment, then lay flat against her head again. Forgive me, friend, for being so cold... Zekinieon was running out of arrows so he decided to move away from the cover of the trees and attack close ranged. He stopped firing arrows when he had five left and slung his bow back into its place. He moved out of the woods with a rush and punched the first tribesmen that was near him. He followed that with a high kick, keeping his foot in the air he staleld for a moment and brought down his leg on the mans neck. The man fell but was replaced by three more. One lunged with a short spear, Zekinieon rolled back on his hands then flipped up to kick the enemy as he tried to recover. He grabbed the short spear from the ground and threw it.

It his a wooden shield but it stalled the tribesman long enough for Zekinieon to move in at the side. He fell after one blow and Zekinieon turned to the last one. He was armed with a short sword and dagger. Zekinieon pulled out the short spear from the sheild and moved in. The man was attacking violently one slash after another, but Zekinieon either dodged it or knocked it off with his spear. Finally Zekinieon saw an opening he stuck the spear in the ground and quickly pulled himself to stand up and his hands by the tip of the spear. He brought down his legs on the shoulders of the man who dropped his short sword in pain. Zekinieon then did a quick combo to finish him off.

Zekinieon turned to look over at the remander of tribesmen. He caught a quick glimse of the black robed and promised himself he would talk to the others about it later. There were few left and between the wizards and wolf they were almost done with. Zekinieon ran into the fray and after a short battle the tribesmen were all but gone. He helped Quaide out of the net and turned to the others, "So, did you see the black robe too?" He said in a thick axcent(sp) common. "Do, or do not, there is no try' -Yoda "Empire Strikes Back"

" Thank you for saving Quaide." Quaide said to Zekinieon.

" At least someone care!" The giant yelled to all the others, staring specifically at Nakira. He settled down then began to speak.

" Quaide in big trouble if he stay here any longer! Quaide must form plan. Where do we go now?" Quaide said. He tried to speak Common the best he could. The chief gave him little education. He lifted his double sided hammer.

" We are there!" Quaide shouted to the others. After pushing aside a bush, Quaide revealed a beautiful water hole. The grass was very green and the water looked very nice. A waterfall cascaded down, splashing into the clear water below. As Quaide walked onto the grass, deers, squirrals and many other animals ran for their lives. Quaide sat down on the grass by the water. He took his massive hands, cupped them, and drank, nearing depleting the entire water hole.

"Forgive you? I should be.... thanking you, and the moons..." The man took a long swig of water, which seemed to brace him somewhat. He stood and faced the party.

That is also why you find me so unconventionaly attired," he indicated his sturdy grey clothes under the red cloak, "robes are just too cumbersome.

"As to why I am here, I had thought that it was mere happenstance, a case of an uneven batttle that I could step into. Gingerly, the man took the wolf's foot in his. With a churgeon's touch, he probed the wound and his eyes narrowed. "This isn't bad, but you probably shouldn't stress it overmuch or it will weaken further. Here..." He clasped the foreleg and closed his eyes, spoke some syllables arcane, and Nakira felt a slight coolness around the joint. Rovanin lifted his hands away, tapped at the wolf's leather bracer, and was rewarded with a hollow sound. The two entered into an ernest an troubled conversation that lasted many hours before the shimmering figure dissapeared and the cleric slumped back down in his chair, taking a long drink before settling down to pray to his dark god."Ah, they have a cave troll....."

A figure watched the party from a tree. He wore a green cloak so that he might not be noticed. He thought that the elf might see him so he did not move or make a sound. He knew that if he was spotted the giant could easily grab him. He watched the group very closely and heard everything that passed each other's lips.

He had been watching them ever sense they had started to run away from the camp. He had run on the trees hoping to be unnoticed and it seemed they did not notice him.. yet. He felt a coldness run down his spine as a wave of darkness flew past him. His bounty must be near here. He was a bounty hunter.

He had been assigned to find a man that worshipped a dark god.. yet he could not remember the name. It seemed the wolf was linked to this and he decided to watch them closely just incase the man came about. He was pondering his mind when he remembered that the elves who hired him also told him to find a missing person. Could the wolf be that person? He would just have to wait and find out.

As he watched the group start to move he decided to follow, but when he tried to move his cloak caught hold of a branch. This was not good. Since he was already trying to get down his cloak hung him in mid-air as he flipped down and was stuck there. He tried to pull his cloak off the branch but he did not succeed. He hoped he didn't make much nose but of course almost falling out of a tree and getting stuck their seemed to make enough nose.

He tried to get away before anybody started looking for him. "Well lets just see if I can wiggle myself out of this situation." He sighed and stopped trying. Of course if the group moved on he probably could get out of here but for now he would not chance it.

Expecially when they had a giant, elf, and mage with them. How could he possible get away? Well of course they had the others but he thought those three would definately find him.

Nakira trotted in the midst of the group...and a sudden sound from behind made her stop in her tracks. She wipped around, head low, ears pitched forward to catch the sounds again.

She growled softly and walked back the way they came....keeping to the shadows. Her eyes searched for the source of the sound....and finally locked onto the man caught in the tree...by his own cloak.

She sat down below him and actually started to laugh. She tilted her head up and looked at him square in the eyes. "Having problems?" she laughedDo you ever question your life?

As the wolf reacted, so too did Rovanin, though he had none of the feral sleakness of his new aquaintance. The best he managed was to crouch low, a piece of wire in his hand, as he followed behind Nakira.

The fact that the man was in a tree at all instantly allayed some of Rovanin's fears; the fact that the cloak with which he had disabled himself was not a black robe made him straighten and relax. To see the wolf laughing with a human voice at the befuddled stranger got the better of the mage, and he too began to chuckle slightly.

The redmage walked over to the tree, carefully staying well out of the hanging man's reach. Pulling a small bit of wood from one of his pouches, he pressed it against the bark and closed his eyes. Let's see if I remember how to do this...

Concentrating, he focused his mind on his conncetion to the tree, slowly pushing with his will against the trunk. The tree's spirit resisted, pressure building, until with a sudden smooth movement he breached the tree's ego where the bit of wood lay against the bark. Immidiatly he could feel a swirl of sensations... sap coursing, gentle breezes fluttering his leaves, the slight sway of the branches..... He reached upwards, through the plant, and stretched out to one of the limbs.

The branch that had entangled the man's cloak slowly lowered itself, curving softly until it came to a stop with the tip about a foot off of the ground. A moment later, Rovanin opened his eyes and smiled, patting the tree affectionately with the other hand."Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

Kayito stood, somewhat impressed by the Red Robes abilities. He leaned against the trunk of another nearby tree, his eyes straying to the ever retreating rays of the sun, that creeped back over the horizon as they allow the night to dominate. He smiled. "I will return shortly friends, i have something to take care of....", he turned to the wolf...whose beauth still caused his breath to gag in his throat, and bow slightly, enough to show respect, but not enough so that he was humbled, and then turn, merging with the shadows cast by the massive trees.Come see my site : http://pub63.ezboard.com/bthedream60488

She turned her head to the water...finally fed up with the filth in her fur. She padded over to the stream, that was fed by the pool they had just left. She lay down in the water and chanted slowly in kagonesti.

Friend undine...Spirit of the water...I ask your help in what I cannot do properly myself...Cleanse my fur of dirt and disease...return it to what it once was...Heal the brusies and wounds of my body, that I may continue my journey. Three shimmering blue figures rose out of the water around Nakria...one skimmed lightly over Nakira's body...leaving clean white fur in it's wake.

The second did the same, leaving the fur dry and soft. The third did a more Meticulous sweep over Nakira's body.....bruised muscles and cut flesh knitted and healed...She lept out of the water...only her lower legs wet now.

"Thank you friend Undine...for your help and caring touch." she shook her body once, and now all could see her in her true glory. Pristine white fur, The feathers and beads that there tied to it where also clean and brightly colored. her bracers where all stiff now like the one that Rovanin had worked on. As the group moved around them he pulled out two twin blades. He then saw a little opening and dashed through it. Two of the warriors shot at him but both of them missed.. but just barely. As he ran through the forest he hoped that none would get caught. "No.. not this time. You will not abandon this group to be slaughtered." He stopped and turned around.

Of course usually he would save his own hide but today he felt he needed to help the others. He dashed back and saw that the two warriors where looking for him. "Hmm.." He went low to the ground and started to move around like a hunter stalking his prey. Once he was by a wide enough tree he popped up and pulled out a dagger which he threw at one of the warriors. It's aim was true. As he noticed he had hit his oppenent he charged out forgeting about the other one and stuck his blade into the warrior.

As he pulled it out he heard something moving from behind. He looked around and saw that his other oppenent had tooken this opportunity to pull out his bow. With quick reflexes he jumped to the side as the arrow sailed toward where he once stood. But his left arm hadn't gotten out of the way. As the arrow nailed into his arm he dropped his blade.

The warrior took this moment to try and shoot him again. "Oh no you don't." As the arrow sailed towards him he deflected it and ran at his oppenent with anger in his eyes and heart. He wanted revenge for what the man just did to him and oh how sweet it would be..

Kori watched in the shadows of a large tree, lying on his stomach, watching the battle below with narrowed eyes. He was like a panther in the night, invisible and silent.
On had on him nothing but a pair of deerskin trousers that went to about mid thigh, and a dagger strapped to his side. On his back he had a bow and arrows, and a headband with a red hawk feather sticking out. It marked him as part of the Red Hawk tribe of the Plains of Dust. On his feet, he had soft leather moccassings for maximum stealth.

Kori was here on a scouting mission, a place not terribly far from his desert homeland. Rumours of a powerful dark man amassing an army for unknown reason. The Red Hawk tribe, though, viewed this as a threat and deemed it should be investigated.
Kori, a man of 19 summers, was chosen because of his skill with the bow, and his stealth. He wasn't as muscular as most men of his tribe, with more of a wiry frame. Though it did not pronounce him any weaker.
His skills of speed and stealth were what the chieftains prized as traits that were needed for this mission.

He had dark brown hair, the colour of the mountains before the last sliver of sun escapes beyond the horizon. Bright hazel eyes, that were adept at finding and seeing what most passed unknowingly. These he used presently, to see what progressed below.
The group below were fighting what was probably a band of mercaneries that were answering the call of the dark man. He needed to know. But there was little use in involving himself in the fight, for it was not his battle.

Kori watched, mesmerized by the beauty of the wolf. It had more intelligence in it's eyes than any normal wolf, and the decorations spoke out also. "Such a beautiful creature..." his voice trailed off in a whisper. Then suddenly, an arrow embedded itself in a nearby branch.
Instead of panicking, Kori took the time to breath and look to see where it had come from. It could be just a wild arrow. But then he saw the archer that was preparing another arrow aimed towards him. He had to act fast. A second arrow embedded itself directly where he had just been, and would have been in him if he hadn't moved quickly.

By then, he was standing, and his bow was already knocked. The arrow shot true, and hit his attacker in the neck. A first glance, it wouldn't look too serious. But on closer inspection, it showed that he had penetrated a vital vein that brought blood too the brain.
Quickly his lifeforce was being gushed out by the wound, from which his attacker had foolishly withdrew the arrow. He fell to the ground, dead or dying. Now, he thought, it's personal.

Arrows started to rain from above, hitting their targets with perfect accuracy. Kori was being a big help, even if they didn't notice. From his vantage, he could see the troop hidden in the darker part of the brush. There, he killed most of the surprise party, before they could surprise their targets. At Nakira's shout, Rovanin looked up, then forced his will out! A wave of green went rippling through the undergrowth, the line of grass stretching out until it reached the wolf's position, where it entangled and distracted her assailants. The mage realized, however, that her first command had been the wisest one... the party had to escape.

The mage shifted in the grass, and, turning, bit down upon the corner of his cloak that he had soaked with Nakira's blood. Sucking the iron-flavored cloth, he focused carefully in his mind, drawing the shape of the transformation. He had to be precise, or nothing would come of the spell.

Slowly, the teeth clenching the red cloth began to elongate, piercing the hood. The traveling clothes began to melt into the mage as silvery fur began to sprout from his skin.

Fangs and fur,
claws and jaws,
ears,

As he tried to defeat his opponent he could see that this one was not one to fool with. He came from the side then pulled his blade upwards to try and cut the mans neck. The man dodged the attack and swung at him. He ducked as the sword swung over his head barely missing his head. He then jumped backwards and waited for his opponent to come at him.

His opponent wasn't as wise as he thought. The warrior charged at him with his sword in the air. What a fool. He quickly swung around and as he did so he pulled out a dagger and threw it into the warrior. The warrior stopped as the dagger ran right into his stomach, he spat out blood and fell to the ground, dead. He then pulled the dagger out of the man and then sheathed his left hand blade as his left arm was injured by the arrow.

He put the dagger back in his belt and moved on to go help the group. He saw arrows flying above and didn't know whom was shooting them yet who ever it was was helping them. As he heard Nakira shout he ran up and saw the red mage become a wolf. As the mage helped Nakira he saw that a couple had moved around them and were planning to capture the two wolf's. A chourus of howls answered her....and she ducked in surprise....a small pack of wolves burst cover from the woods. She watched as two took down her attacker....one rounded next to the newcomer....watching the fighter's back....

She gaped in shock as the wolf pack continued to attack the merc company, she growled, her eyes taking on a feral look as the commanders that stood in the background fired their crossbows...two of the wild wolves fell to their bolts. Quaide had been eating berries from a bush far from the others when he heard the sounds of battle. He ran towards the sounds, his long, two sided hammer tightly in his hands.

He finally made it to an opening where the mercenaries were surrounding the man who hangs from tree like a monkey, who Quiade had not met yet, and the fast moving assassin man.

The mercs did not see the giant who was running from behind.

First Quaide threw down his weapon. He grabbed two mercs heads and slammed them together. He then lifted a man above his head and tossed him into a tree, snapping his back. The giant regained his weapon and swung it with deadly force, knocking down mercs by the second. He then hurled the hammer at a merc about ten yards away, smashing his skull and killing him. A merc came from behind and stabbed Quaide in the back with his long sword. Quaide pulled the sword out with ease and bent the steel as if it were rubber. The merc looked at the giant in shock, who, within seconds punched the man in the chest, denting his armor greatly. The armor was pressed so hard against the mans lungs, that the merc suffocated in front of the strong giant.

The three men had killed off a lot of the group, but Quaide heard screams of the lady wolf.

" She needs our help! Follow me!" The giant yelled to the other two as he ran through the trees.

As he fought off the three mercs he saw a wolf come and aid him. "Why thank you wolf." He said as he cut a mercs shoulder blade and then his knee leaving him there so the wolf could finish him. He saw a giant come out and saw him bash the other two skulls like they were nothing. "Thank you giant."

As he turned to run with the others he saw a merc sneak up on the giant again and try and stab him. He kicked the merc in the head than sliced the merc in the neck. He ran as quickly as he could to get to the others that were soon way ahead of him. He caught up to the giant and stayed by his side, incase any more came he could help the giant fend them off.

The giant barbarian ran with great speed, knocking over soldiers with his great steps. He finally caught up with Nakira.

" Why we running?" the barbarian asked in confusion.

" It's only a few hundred soldiers! Me bash all their heads in for you!" Quaide offered.

As Rovanin padded along, he kept a sharp eye out for enemies along their path - looking almost exactly like Nakira, minus only the jewlery and the tatoo, he could easily be mistaken and targeted. As the group ran, however, and more and more of their party caught up, he realized that they had left the danger behind by several hundred meters of forest. He growled at Nakira once, still cursing his lack of voice.

They were a curious bunch, Kori remarked silenbtly to himself. Two mages, a barbarian giant, a lady wolf, and some other humans that seemingly tagged along. How had such complete strangers just come together and act together so naturally when really they had only know each other for half a day long? Was it all because of the lady wolf? And the amount of people that kept poppoing up and joining? Kori contemplated this while a hawk flew overhead.

He looked up, and he saw the hawk studying him. He found that strange, but before he could call out to it, it suddenly banked and flew down towards the group that had decided to make camp.
He saw it prop down onto the shoulder of one the the companions. So it's a tame bird, he thought.

The light of day was swiftly fading into the darkness of night. Already the sun was lingering for its last minutes on the horizon, before it would diseappear completely behin the mountains. He sighed. Such a beautiful sight... His stumach grumbled. Kori hadn't had the time to hunt for any food since the day before he stumbled on this little group. But did he dare risk it now, and leave to hunt for game? What if they left? They were his source for answers, and he would follow them until they led him to those answers. "You cannot reach them. " Just a little further to a nice hill to camp on, wolf man." Quaide told the male wolf.

" It would be smart to start collecting fire wood now." Quaide said as he bent down and placed an enormous log on his shoulders, along with his hammer.
He then accended a small slope till he got to a grassy hilltop. It was above all the trees and very visible from the sky.If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

Just below the hill, the second silver wolf stopped, panting. Blight, even in this form running is tiring!
The wolf shook himself vigerously, and fur began to fall away as it slowly increaced in size. Legs bent in strange directions, his ears shrank and crept down his head, and bits of red began to show through under the molting fur. With a growl that turned into a shout, Rovanin shook his head, free of his own transmutation. He sat, kneeling where he was, his dark eyes almost black in the dusk. He managed to pant out "We shouldn't stay... on the hill. We'll be too visible.""Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

In a cave on the opposite side of the hill, a group of armoured figures stood, staring out through the waterfall that ran over the cave enterance. Some seemed to be talking to eachother, but no sound came from their all-enclosing helmets. They were all armed with various weapons, some with swords, some with hammers, some with axes and yet more with maces. Some carried great two-handed weapons, some carried shields and some carried a weapon in each gauntleted hand. As he listened to Nakira talking his mind wandered about. "I don't like the look of that waterfall. Don't you think it would be wise to avoid it?" He had a strange tingling on the back of his neck. That usually meant danger.. yet he didn't know where it was.

He unsheathed his right hand blade as his left hand was injured by a arrow. "I really don't like this." He looked around and saw to his amazment no animals. "Hey Quaide? Shouldn't there be animals around here, I mean they could drink out of the waterfall. So why are the animals avoiding it?"

It was true that there should be animals about. But why were they avoiding the best place for water in the area?
They couldn't be afraid of the companions who were setting camp, it was too far for the animals to take caution. Someone, or something, must be keeping them away. He decided to investigate."You cannot reach them. We tried once, yes, precious. I tried once;

" Humph! You cant assume danger because of absense of animals. They probably just migrating or something." Quaide said as he began to walk towards the waterfall.

" Oh come on! Theres nothing wierd here!" Quaide said as he looked back at the others. He sighed and lifted his hammer to his shoulders.

He stepped into the river leading to the waterfall. It was about five feet deep, however Quaides walked across with ease, the water only up to his stomach. He was about a yard away from the water fall when he thought he heard one of his companions yell something to him. What was said was unheard because of the loud crashing of the waterfall. He stepped into the first feet of the large waterfall.

Three helmeted men clad in armor and with sheathed swords at their side stared at the giants face as it was revealed through the crashing water. Quaide seeing them, gave a friendly smile to the three.

" Just takin a walk fellas." Quaide said, hiding his fear. The giant turned around slowly and was about to walk back, hoping he wouldnt have to fight them.

Quaide then felt a huge thud at his head. He dropped his hammer and went limp. Blood dripped down into the water. As he crashed down to the floor, he hoped his friends would see something was wrong, but he could not yell for help. The group of armoured figures looked at the prone form of Quaide, and the fluke rock that had fallen from the less-than completely stable roof. One shook his head, as if to say that this was not something that had been meant to have happened. Then he snapped his fingers, the wound on Quaide's head healing over in moments and his breathing mellowing to a sleeping rythem. The armoured figures remained standing there watching the waterfall from inside the cave.

Zekinieon shrugged this off and continued his search alone, Dart was staying by Narika for some strange reason and Fenix was taking to the skies.

"Quaide, the tracks here or old. It looks like there haven't been any animals around here in awhile. Maybe those mercenaries scared them off." No reply came..."Quaide? Quaide!?!" Quaide, however, had just vanished- it occurred to the mage that the big man might just not think to call out the safety of the cave, but Quaide was a nomad, used to working in a group. He would surely have made some sign...

After a minute of tense waiting, the redcloak stepped forwards, drawing his dagger. Going where the cataract poured over the rocks, he began to make his way up, paralell to the falls. Gaining a little height, he sat down on a moss covered rock to catch his breath and recall his spell. He waved at the others to stay put."Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

The thin line slowly expanded as the spell matured, the V-shaped gap widening. Where there had been one fall, there were now two, uneven torrents with a gap in the middle.

The mage angled his blade to try to cut the flow so that the cave mouth would be exposed. The water beading on his forehead was not merely spray, however. Hurry up, everyone... I can't maintain this for long...."Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

Her gaze dropped to Quaide's inert form, to the small group of armored men, her eyes narrowed, and her growl could easly be heard over the roar of the waterfall.

"Friend Undine...Part your currents, stay in the form that my friend has shown you....stay untill I say otherwise." The water spirit's reacted intsantly to Nakira's plea....and they parted their ways, rolling easily down the waterfall...causiing it to stay in it's parted form.
