OOC: Okay, I am just making my own age. I am not sure if it is similar to any other age, since I havent read that far into the series. Im not even sure if there is already an age of death, but I was just writing in my notebook and came up with this, so, yeah. Every one is free to join of course.

BIC: The Age of Death has begun. The skies purple and blacken with unknown evil forces. The lakes, rivers, ponds, and streams redden with the blood of the good. The surface of Krynn masses with the armies of evil ready to strike down the remaining forces of rightousness. Children, lucky enough to be alive, cower under their beds crying for their long-gone parents. Trees all around wither and die every passing moment. Bodies of woodland creatures litter the once-were grounds of forests, rotting there and never to be mourned for. The crumbling stone of ruined cities tumble down to the ground, never going to be touched again.

And yet there are some who remain amongst the surrounding death, who kill every evil creature who stumbles in their paths. The gods of good have provided one last chance to rid Krynn of the evil engulfing it.

One of these remaining champions holds the key to destroy this evil, and yet he does not know it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tharr sleepily stumbled out of his house. He was exhausted by the previous restless night. He had had the worst nightmare ever dreamt by anyone: of an evil creature chasing him, screaming at him in an unknown language, reaching to grab him. The creature wanted something from the dwarf, and Tharr had no clue.

When he had woken up, Tharr had found an oddly colored stone. He could not explain its prescence, but he had felt a strange importance when he held it. So, naturally, he kept it.

Like every day, Tharr wore his heavy battle armor, with his large Great Axe hitched on his back. His armor was an unusualy shade of blue, with beautiful golden etchings of leafery. His axe was double-sided, with the symbols of the good gods embedded down its handle. Both of these had belonged to his father, who had recieved from his own father. Both dwarves were great warriors and Tharr himself has been getting closer to being a hero ever since the beginning of this Age.

Tharr walked into the Red Horse Tavern and sat at a nearby table. He called the waitress and ordered his traditional morning ale.

The tavern was never full anymore, with only one or two tables holding a few patrons(whom had most likely been there all night). The tavern was well cleaned, despite the chaos outside it's walls.

When the waitress returned with his mug, Tharr tossed a steel piece to her and sipped his ale. He had a sudden feeling as the drink gave him a burning sensation, that today was not going to be an ordinary day.The Time is Near....No More Darkness...The Flames Scar the Night...The Fire Still Burns...My Future is Clear...A Date With The Devil...A Dance With His Mistress...My Path is Chosen....

OOC: You will be blessed, my dearest friend.

IC:

The old man looked sorrowfully at the purple skies, tears of sadness flowing down his wrinkled face.

"So... the time has come... "

He thought of his wife... long dead. When will he ever see her again??

SPLAT!!

His head exploded. His spirit had a tearful reunion with his wife.

Eliar spat in rage and clapped his hands twice, ten male dwarves in pink dresses pop out from the floorboards and dance a graceful ballet.

"In your dreams man,
Swim very well I can,
Zap you with my lightning,
Until you start crying."

Decklan stopped suddenly....the rustling of branches and leaves grew louder. His hand instictively went to the short sword at his side. Accompanying the rustling was a soft moaning sound, the sound of someone, or something in pain. Silently he took a few paces and slowly parted some thick brush.

Lying in a clearing a few yards away was a large stag, it's thick hyde matted with blood. On its back and legs strange sores and scabs were present. Decklan took a look around the immediate area and proceeded into the small clearing. The animal lifted it's head as he approached, and looked at him in alarm. Decklan settled near the beast and put his hand on the animal's skin and closed his eyes. He felt blood pulsing through the animals veins, it's life blood returning.

When he opened his eyes again, the animal was gone. He had spent months in the woods, living off the land, and helping any beast that was stricken by this strange disease. He knew not where this gift came from, but his whole life he had kept it to himself, for it did not work on humans. Certain that the animal was cured, he secured his bow on his back and returned his sword to its scabbord.

As he walked across the clearing he noticed the forest beginning to thin out, in the distance a small Inn came into view. With only a few steel in his pouch he made his way towards the Inn. "Why not", he said to himself, as the thought of a cold mug of ale crossed his mind. It had been a long time since he had treated himself.

As he opened the door to the Inn the warm air from the fire met him, for a moment he stood still and enjoyed the sensation. The Inn was almost empty, it was still early, but a dwarven patron sat at a table by himself. "Mornin", Decklan said to the dwarf, as he made his way to the bar. He looked at the oak casks, "I'll have a pint of your best, please", he said, tossing a coin at the barkeep. He took his ale and made his way to a seat near the fire.

Buried in his drink, Tharr nodded and mumbled "Mornin'" to the passerby. After a few seconds, however, he quickly raised his head to look in the direction of the person. "Who is he? He has never been here before..."

Tharr got out of his seat and walked to where the man went. He pulled out a seat across from the guy and sat down.

"Im guessing you are new here, since I have never seen you before. I come to this Tavern on a regular basis, and I know everyone who walks in out of that doorway. Excuse me for my suspicions, but who are you and why have you come to this small town?"The Time is Near....No More Darkness...The Flames Scar the Night...The Fire Still Burns...My Future is Clear...A Date With The Devil...A Dance With His Mistress...My Path is Chosen....

Silar and Wylin sat in the back of the tavern...the two had lived within this town for several years now...both had a decent reputation. Obviously twins, and of obvious elven decent, they both had silvery-grey hair, and bright blue eyes.

Wylin smiled at her twin and Silar winked in return... they seemed to be around 20 years of age. Wylin wore her hair loosely and it tumbled around her shoulders in loose waves. she wore the standardized clothing...heavy cloth tunic, with a chainmail shirt. her leggings where of fine white leather...and she wore steel greeves (SP) that protected her legs up to her knees. A silver bow hung against her back.

Silar wore none of the protections that his twin did...but simple, blood red robes. silver runes stitched into the hems. His hair was caught at the nape of his neck with a red strip of leather. his blue eyes watched the tavern closely, and he noted the newcomer and Tharr with keen interest.

Silar and Wylin...or more commonly known to others of their kind....SkyTouch and WindRider, two of the dragons of Balance...Silver crystal dragons....or Mirror dragons as they've come to be known. Mirror dragons because their scales where crystalline, and silvery in color...and seemed to reflect any lightsource...even better than their mother, Crystalamira.

"Why not", he said to himself, as the thought of a cold mug of ale crossed his mind. It had been a long time since he had treated himself.

Kithe stood and watched from the edge of the forest as the traveler entered the little tavern. Clad entirely in black, and with the cowl of his cloak pulled low over his face, all that could be seen was the slight green glow of his eyes as they watched the man that he had been following for the last few minutes.

A drink, then? Very well. I can wait.

The shadow adjusted its cloak and slipped forwards, moving in close to the building."Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

While waiting for a reply from the unknown stranger, Tharr caught a glimpse of the two elves in the back of the tavern with the corner of his eye. He turned his head and nodded towad the twins. He had seen them before, but they rarely spoke. Tharr never confronted them, since he felt an eerie feeling when close enough.

Tharr looked back at the man on the other side of the table and said, "Well?"The Time is Near....No More Darkness...The Flames Scar the Night...The Fire Still Burns...My Future is Clear...A Date With The Devil...A Dance With His Mistress...My Path is Chosen....

Monty carefully brought his small boat up to the docks of the small ravaged town. He tied the rope to a wooden post on the dock. He had finally made it. Monty has been at sea for weeks, looking for this town. It was one of the last towns standing. Evil forces were great in these times.

Monty stepped onto the dry brown grass. A red bandana covered his head. Dangling from his ears were two golden ear-rings His long black hair tied in a pony tail blew in the wind. The town was not the great fortress he had imagined. He felt uneasy so he took out his curved sword. he wore simple clothing. An aqua colored vest and long black pants. He had skills such as sailing, fighting, and was known for his slick ways in his dealings. He was an ex-merchant. When the evil armies came, he cared only for survival and quit his job. He looked around the town some more. He noticed an inn, and two rows of small torn up homes. He saw a wall surrounding the town. The wall was in poor condition. Monty aslo noticed a nearby forest, which was the most colorful part of town. Yet, with all this wreckage and poverty, life remained. Children sat in front of houses, tossing rocks into pots in play. Men and woman walked the streets, chatting. Guards stood at doors, and few at the gates of the walls. How this town remained safe from the evil forces was a miracle. There was something about this town that Monty did not know. He decided to go to the Red Horse Inn, with hope of learning more.

Monty entered the inn. He noticed a dwarf, two elves standing next to each other, and a human, like himself. The barkeep and waitress looked at Monty funny. He smiled, trying to change his image, which was a pirate who needed a shave. The inn was very quiet and Monty felt little hope within. He sat at the bar and ordered some ale and potatoes. He was starving and ate only fish in the past month. He looked at the elves once more. They seemed very mysterious, as if they had a hidden power. The human gave off a newcomer feeling. Monty looked at the dwarf and couldnt help but think of him as a leader, a hero. Monty was very good at reading personalities. If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

Silar and Wylin sat at the table...both sipping at their ale. Silar remained quiet and seemingly oblivious to his surroundings. Wylin watched the newcomers to the inn with a wary interest. The twins where of elven decent...but not pure elven....

Decklan was enjoying the warm fire when the dwarf approached him. He didnt mind the dwarf's forthright attitude, but in these times only a fool would be caught unprepared. He quietly undid the buckle on his sword and greeted the dwarf with a smile.

"Hello, I am Decklan, originally from Palanthas" he said. "Dried meats are my trade, but my supply wagon and horses were stolen weeks ago". He had told this lie many times, so his expressions backed up his story extremely well. "I just happened to stumble across this village, and was hoping maybe someone here could help me get back home".

Decklan looked at the dwarf, he wasnt sure, but he could have sworn he noted a look of skepticism. "What brings you to this fine Inn at such an early hour", he said, quickly changing the subject.

UndeadDragon

Tharr gave Decklan a suspicious look and said, "I come to this Inn everyday around this time. This has been my home for years. But, I am not here to talk about myself. I came to your table to see why you are here. I find your story odd, being Palanthis is so far away. But if what you say is true, I may be able to arrange something."

Then a gruff-looking man entered the Inn. Tharr sighed at this newcomer, not liking it when strangers suddenly appear. The dwarf quickly regathered himself, mumbled, "Be right back" to Decklan, then made his way to the new stranger.

The man smelled like sea, so Tharr gathered he was some kind of a sailor. He may have been wrong, the dwarf isn't very good with that kind of thing.

As he came up to the man, he grumbled, "Yes, is there something YOU need? I'd like to know why ye is here!" Noticing his dwarven accent was coming out, he took a deep breath, counted to three, then continued, "It is very strange to see one stranger here, much more two. This is a small village, barely touched by this...this...'plague' and you...."

Tharr was cut off by the Inn's door slamming open and a tall man dressed in full black leather stomped inside. Everyone could feel an energy about this man, and Tharr knew what kind of energy it was. Silar and Wylin tensed....Silar started to stand but Wylin, already standing, splaced her hand on her twin's shoulder...and he sat back down without a sound.

Wylin stood somwhat in front of her twin, her hand resting easily on the short sword at her hip...her other hand held ready to reach for her bow. as far as the twins where concerned this was Their villiage...and they wouldn't see anyone try to bring it grief or harm....and the Gods help those who did.

Wylin walked up to Tharr, but her gaze was focused on the warrior in black. "State your buisness here...." she said, her voice as clear and sweetly pitched as water over crystal, though her eyes betrayed her polite voice...deep fathomless blue....deeper than the night sky....deeper than the cosmos itself.

The man smiled and walked up to the elven woman. He appeared to have no weapons and his step was more floating than walking. His extreme agility was obvious.

He stood near Wylin and said, "Dear, 'elf', I come not to harm you... I simply... have a message that needs to be delivered."

The strange man looked at Tharr and smiled, then began to dig in his pocket for something. Tharr got in his fighting stance, in case this creature decided to try something funny.

The man in black pulled out an envelope and handed it to the dwarf. Then he bowed to everyone in the Inn and left quietly.

Tharr, puzzled at this threatening man appearing so nice handing him a message, reluctantly opened the envelope. He pulled out a piece of parchment and frowned. He began to read it aloud:

"Dearest Tharr, Wylin, Silar, Decklan, Monty, and to whomever else this may concern: I know the small village you are in is one of the last. You are lucky. My armies are massing right now a few miles away. By time you finish reading this, you might want to leave the Red Horse Tavern, as well as the village, or die. It does not matter to me whether you live or die. Your weak group poses no threat as of now. This is just a warning. Protect and die, or flee like cowards and live. Its up to you.
Honach"

Tharr's eyes opened wide and looked at the people around him. He said, "What do we do then?"The Time is Near....No More Darkness...The Flames Scar the Night...The Fire Still Burns...My Future is Clear...A Date With The Devil...A Dance With His Mistress...My Path is Chosen....

Silar frowned and moved silently behind his sister. "We get the people of this villiage to a safe place." He stated calmly.... My sister and I may be of balance....but in this world...there is no more balance...we fight on the side of light...it's the only way to return the balance."

Wylin nodded, and sighed. "but dearest brother....what place is safe anymore from this madman?"

"There is only one place safe here....we can send them to father...and the Kirioyal...those who stay will help us fight." They both turned to Tharr Wylin's eyes softer now. "You decide my Drwarven freind... We will do as you ask...we will send those who wish safety to our father, Navare...and our other siblings to a land far to the east of Ansalon....those who will stay will help us fight."Do you ever question your life?

"Well, that doesnt leave you with much choice, does it?" he said, referring to the contents of the parchment. He looked at the twins, "This Kirioyal you speak of, how can you be so certain that the villagers will be safe there? and how do you plan on getting them there?".

Decklan had stopped at this Inn only for a few moments rest, he had no plans of jumping into this adventure head first, he knew nothing of these people. "You mention me in the same breath as yourselves, yet I have never made any commitment to you or this village. I am merely trying to get home, not fight an unbeatable army".

Decklan left it at that, and waited for their response. There was only one thing he would have given his life for, and that was his family, but they lay in shallow graves, killed by an unknown hand.

Wylin's eyes narrowed, but Silar silenced his sister with a look. "The Kirioyal are an ancient race decended from the Irdra...they are loyal friends of our parents...and the rest of our siblings. The Queen herself is a personal friend of my mother. as for your "Commitment"...that is totally up to you...though if you stay, you will be caught in the frey..." Silar frowned and looked to his twin for a long moment and nodded.

"Though if it's Palanthas you wish to go to....I suppose my twin could give you a lift...she's not as adept with magic as I am..." Wylin sighed but nodded her head. "I will take you to palanthas...it's not too far." she said as though it where only a mile away.Do you ever question your life?

"You seem to be under some illusion, elf. There is nowhere left that is safe, and the only ones who will not fight will be the dead."

Another black-clad figure stood in the doorway. His posture was straight and strong, but his form was concealed beneath an ebon robe, his hands folded within his sleeves and his face all but hidden by his low cowl. He might have been a Black Wizard, exaept that he lacked any visible spellpouches and lacked any magical aura. His omonous presense, however, seemed to have a power of its own, and when he spoke, his voice chilled like an autmn gale.

"If the people of this village flee now, they will be cut down from behind as the army tramples them. If you mages can spirit them off, then I suggest that you should have done it already, but don't suppose that they will be safe for very long. Nothing and nowhere in this blighted world is sacred anymore, so they had best learn to get used to it. If they cannot fight, they will be crushed.

As for myself, I know how to fight. Anyone interested in buying the mages a little time, I suggest you prepare to do so and offer up whatever prayers you have left in you.""Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

Wylin started to say something but Silar shoook his head. Wylin turned in a huff, saying something under her breath...something about "mortals" as she strode out of the inn... muttering and cursing loudly in an ancient, nearly unknow language.

Silar stared after his hot-tempered twin. and sighed. "well then...I guess I'd better start to work...if anyone needs me, I'll be in the center of the town.

Wylin paced angrily. She didn't have her bother's strength in magic...though she could perfom some interesting spells...but not to her twin's power. She shook her head, and mumbled softly under her breath....a small crystal in her hands....she brought it up over her head....and shattered it in her hand. as the last glimmer of the crystal dust touched the ground....Wylin was gone..... She hovered in the air nearly a mile up from the ground....invisible....and in her true form.

Dove grey wings stretched out to their fullest...mirror hued crystalline scales reflecting sunight brightly...if not for her invisibility spells....she would be a beacon for all to see.

Silar worked silently, his hands moving quickly...deftly. weaving intricate spells about the town....each more complicated than the last. to break one would still leave the others in place... Decklan gathered the few belongings he had with him, and made his way to the door. Standing in the doorway he looked back at the group, am I making the right choice?, he thought. He quickly put the thought out of his head and shut the door. He had survived this long on his own, who knows what would happen if he put his life in the hands of others.

As he made his way through the village he spotted something most peculiar. More than once he noticed dark shadows darting into alleys and seeking cover behind various objects, it was as if they were trying to avoid detection. It suddenly dawned on him that whatever plan the others had come up with was useless. Scouts and mercenaries were already in the village, it wouldnt take long for them all to perish.

Ducking into a nearby stable he collected his thoughts. Could he make it to the treeline from here without being spotted?, he doubted it. Besides the forest was probably littered with reinforcements. The Inn was now about 30 paces to his east. Securing his scabbord with his right hand he made a mad dash towards the rear of the Inn, praying that the back door be unlocked. To his relief the door opened, he quickly entered and took a small corridor towards the kitchen. Emerging behind the bar, he noticed the group still discussing their options. "We have no time", he panted, "They're in the village already, we've got to get out, we have very little time".

Tharr unlatched his great axe and brought it into his hands. The cool steel felt refreshing to his battle-worn hands. He got into a battle stance and then let his dwarven accent run free. "AYE! If ye be right, the fools will not stand a chance against me! I will slaughter them all, if it be the last thing me do! They will not get me village!"

With that, he ran out the door, ignoring the shouts for him to come back. He weaved through the alleyways and in and out of buildings, making his way to the center of the town. His eyes burned with rage as small beads of sweat trickled down his forehead.

Then a creature jumped out in front of the dwarf, only to be met with an axe to its neck. Tharr was always ready for surprises, yet he did not get a good look at the thing who was ready to attack him.

The dwarf reached the town center and he began looking for Silar. The Time is Near....No More Darkness...The Flames Scar the Night...The Fire Still Burns...My Future is Clear...A Date With The Devil...A Dance With His Mistress...My Path is Chosen....

Before Decklan had time to say anything else, the dwarf burst out the front door and into the street. "Wait........you blundering idiot", he shouted, his voice trailing off at the end of his sentence. "Damn" he said, pounding his fist on the bar top.

Jumping over the bar he ran towards the door "Come on" he yelled at Kithe and Monty, "Lets go, follow me". Pushing open the door he took a quick look around and began running towards the center of town.

Iulus watched on the shadows of his small home. He could see the aweful demons wreaking havoc already, on his beloved town. Evil mages and clerics of the dark gods were controlling them and using their own powers destructively.

Many villagers had rallied to fight them, but to little use. "I should be out there," he whispered silently to himself. Then he thought, why waste my life for this? Because these are the people you have come to love, a voice replied in his head. In his hands, he grasped a platinum medallion with the picture of a dragon. The holy symbol of Paladine. He didn't wear the robes of a cleric though.

Clerics of the gods of good were forbidden, and were usually hunted and killed by those of evil. Even white robed magicians were forced to bend to the will of the dark mages. The pact of brotherhood between mages was broken. The balance was destroyed.

The people of Ansalon lived under the rule of ruthless and evil monarchs, or even military rulers like in Solamnia. The Knight's of Solamnia had been forced to disband, and the Knight's of Darkness took their place. Most people sided with evil, so they would live a better life. But a few pockets of resistance and good still lived. Like thise town, this beloved town. Iulus, only a young man of 19, had found Paladine in that time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

His parents had been killed in a raid on their small fishing villages, and he found among his father's possesions a medallion of the platinum dragon. Then, the god spoke to him. He filled him with hope for the ravaged world. His hand guided him to this town, where he had did what he could to help the town in secret. For assasins would surely come and kill him if they found out he was a cleric of Paladine.

He wore baggy pants of white cotton, and a vest from the hide of a pure white stag over a bare chest, killed when Solinari, the white moon was full. But no one had seen the white moon, or the red, for a long time. Most had even forgot about them. Every night, the dark moon would rule the sky, the other two forgotten and lost, as if they had abandoned Krynn. Then, he added the platinum chain.
If he were to go out in the open, he would be a beacon of hope and light. And also a target for the dark mages and clerics. He could feel the reassuring touch of Paladine strongly. Before he left, he took the time to give a prayer to Paladine. In response, he could feel a power surge through him, that was much like magic used by mages. Now, he would be able to fight in the name of Light. "You cannot reach them. We tried once, yes, precious. I tried once;
but you cannot reach them. Only shapes to see, perhaps, not to touch.
No precious! All dead." -Gollum

Monty was very upset. He had come to this town for safety, and only found more danger.

" I dont understand! How did you survive this long?" Monty asked the others. He stepped outside and jumped back in suprise. Right before him was a large dragon in the center of town.

" Hey! Dwarf! Im no fighter! I need to get back to my ship. Sorry i couldnt help." Monty ran back towards the docks, his sword still in its hilt. He continued on running, until he ran into something hard. He staggered back up and saw about ten black armored knights in front of him, blocking the docks. They all held their large swords up, ready to attack. They began to charge towards Monty. Monty ripped out his sword just to have it thwacked away by one of the knights. He ran towards the sword and picked it up. He had to get back to the others.

" HELP! THE ARMIES! They've blocked the docks!" Monty sprinted for his life. He suddenly found himself in a dead end of an alley-way. The ten knights were only twenty feet away. Monty held his sword waiting, waiting for help...

Without the need for arcane chanting, Iulud sent a bolt of white light to blind the soldiers that were about to attack Monty. Monty was spared from the blindness. "Hurry! Before they come to," he yelled, gesturing upwards. He was standing on top of the building that consisted of the left side of the alley. He threw a rope ladder down, and he didn't wait to see if Monty decided to climb up. He hadn'y met this man yet, guessing to be a newcomer. Must be, for he wore clothes that screamed of foreing make.

He looked behind him, and was pleased to see he had followed. The knight's were now crying in protest, demanding him to come back or else. Or else what? Turning, he could feel a grasp of coldness sweep over him. A dark cleric, who was so bent and wrinkled with age that he looked pratically undead, was standing their, weaving a dark clerical spell calling on the power of Chemosh, god of the dead. His eyes widened in surprise, and didn'thave the chance to mutter a prayer to Paladine before being struck by an overwhelming grasp of cold. Falling to his knees, he tried to protest, but he only gasped in pain.

He should have been lying dead, but his faith in Paladine was fighting the spell of the dark cleric. The cleric of Chemosh was surprised also when he didn't die. He saw the dark cleric grasp a medallion with the skull of a rat, that was decorated richly with dark gems infused with power.
Fighting off the death spell, Iulul grasped his own medallion of faith. An aura of white light shot from his body, and hit the old cleric, burning him wherever it hit. Soon, he was just a pile of ashes, and his former medallion fell to the floor with a clink. "You cannot reach them. We tried once, yes, precious. I tried once;

Monty crawled up the ladder without haste. He was about to thank the man, when suddenly a dark cleric stood before them on the roof top. After it cast the cold spell on Iulul, it summoned a skeleton right in front of Monty. Monty parried the skeletons axe with his sword. Monty then kicked the skeleton in the torso, sending it flying off the roof and crashing to the floor, making its bones scatter. After that, he looked back and saw that Iulul has finished off the cleric.

Monty walked over and picked up the rat talisman then placed it in a pouch on his belt.

" That should sell for some gold. That is if i get the chance to sell it." Monty muttered to himself. Monty then walked over to Iulul.

"Thank you a thousand times! You saved my life back there!" Monty patted the man on the shoulder.
" Dont worry, you will be repaid........sometime."

Monty was interupted by sounds of battle.
" Hurry! We must go back down. Even though i am just an ex-merchant, and tried to escape earlier, I feel like a coward on this roof, while the dwarf and the others are fighting bravely. You are very powerful! I havent seen a cleric of good in a long time. Maybe you can get on top of one of those dragons, you two would do some damage together! Oh, yeah, i forgot to tell you, the two dragons are on our side! I guess that answers how this town survived this long. However, as you can see, the armies fear them no more. At that moment, the two men heard a shout of triumph and whirled to face one of the black knights pulling himself over the top of the rope ladder. Shouting in some black tounge, the fiend stood and drew a wicked-looking blade. As he did so, however, a hand shot up from below, grasped the figure's greave, and pulled firmly. Screaming, the knight plummeted to the stree below with a sickening crunch, and in another moment the black-robed man pulled himself onto the roof. From beneath his cowl, his green eyes glinted.

"Don't bother with 'Overwhelming.' It only leads to mispreceptions. You'd better get down, over that way would be fastest."

The man pointed for a moment to a convienient upstairs window, then turned and ran off along the rooftops in the opposite direction, heading for the center of the town."Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

Monty nodded to the mage in aknowledgement. He then kicked through the window, bashing the glass. He jumped inside and found himself in a little boys bedroom.

" Sorry about that pal." Monty said patting the little boy on the head. Suddenly pounding was heard on the stairs. Monty held his sword high, ready for anything. The door smashed through and wood pieces flew everywhere. Inside walked a large, steel helmeted knight. This one was larger than the others outside. It held a large chain with a spike ball on the end. It began to spin it with great force. The knight swung it at Monty who ducked just in time. The spiked ball kept on going and crashed into a mirror. Monty charged the knight and managed to give it a nice gash on its right arm. The knight dropped the chain in pain. Monty then got behing the boys bed and pushed it across the room with speed. It slammed against the knight causing him to stagger. The knight tripped and fell down the staircase.

" Dont worry. He wont be coming back." said Monty reasuringly to the boy. Monty ran down the stairs and thrust his sword right in the knight gut, finishing him for good.If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

Decklan raced towards the small town center, unaware that the two others had split up and left him. Emerging from an alleyway, he spotted one of the twins, seemingly caught up in some sort of spell casting. The dwarf on the other hand was nowhere to be seen. "Your spells will only hold them for so long, many of them are already in the city", he shouted. "We must find a way out of this city, otherwise we will die in vain". "The docks".....was all that could be heard as he raced off in search of the others.

Decklan rounded a corner and noticed the sea farer exciting a nearby house, blood dripped from his blade. "Find the others, and meet me at the docks as soon as possible, I fear it is our only way out of this mess". With that said, he set off in the general direction of the docks, hoping to find the dwarf on his way.

A few moments later he was within sight of the docks, the location of the dwarf still remained a mystery. Hiding behing an empty ale barrell he counted the forces guarding their escape route. Damn, he thought, there must be almost twenty of them. dejected, he sat back against the wall, now what?.

Out of nowhere two guards fell down and died. A figure emerged from the shadow holding a sword and a sheild. He wore a green cloak and was standing in front of a abondoned house yet that was were he had lived for these few years and had never been noticed but now with the army of darkness here he had to protect it. He saw two more and jumped onto a rooftop and spotted three up there. "Man there are alot of you aren't there?" The figure said and jumped over the three and cut at them with his sword. "Well even if there is only three of you i dont have time. He said as he cut a leg of one and kicked another in the chest sending him of the rooftop. He dodged the other with grace as he bashed his hilt into the others head when he swung at him. "Now that is some bad fighting." He cut the knights throat to make sure he was dead and leaped down to the ground. He saw many people running for saftey and saw a little boy just standing ther while a guard came at the boy. "Oh no." The figure ran and grabbed the boy as the guard swung his battle axe at the little boy. The axe cut his cloak and tore it to shreds. There in the misted of the battle feild was an Solamnic Knight! With the guards hesitation he sliced the guards chest and grabbed the boy and ran him to his mother. "Here you mam, just dont lose him ok." The Knight sprinted down towards the center of the town to help stop the evil threat.

On a hill to the north of the small village, Honach paced back and forth. On the one side of him opposite from the village, stood a massive army of evil. He was grumbling to himself when a tall man in black leather walked calmly up to him. Honach turned to the man and his lips twitched into a 'smile'.

"Ah, Dred, I take it the message was sent? I didnt send the small forces too early did I?"

"Aye, sir. The message was sent.", said the man in black.

Honach turned to his enormous army and yelled, "Alright, we have them where we want them. The two elves, or should I say dragons, are the only threats that pose us. The rest will stand no chance at all. How a small group of men and two dragons slay the thousands of us?" The army cheered at the remark, but Honach cut them off, "Enough! To arms!"

The cheering quited almost immediately, and the sounds of weapons being readied spread throughout the masses.

Honach mounted his massive black steed and unsheathed his long sword and got his shield ready. He then lifted his sword and paused for what seemed an eternity, and then yelled, "Charge!"The Time is Near....No More Darkness...The Flames Scar the Night...The Fire Still Burns...My Future is Clear...A Date With The Devil...A Dance With His Mistress...My Path is Chosen....

As the little group watched the docks and tried to figure a course of action, the black-robed figure again appeared, emerging from a nearby alleyway. With measured steps, he advanced upon the two closest guards barring the way onto the warf. The knights turned, raising their swords, but they seemed to hesitate at the sight of the robed figure.

Kithe stopped about twenty feet from the pair. "In the name of the Great Darkness, move NOW." His last word seemed to echo with the voice of the sea, and one of the knights, visibly shaken, stepped backwards and sheathed his sword. The other, however, did not appear so willing.

"Who are you to order us around?"

Kithe moved forwards again, quickly, almost at a run. The knight tensed, then swung his sword in a mighty swath that would easily have decapitated the black-robed man, had Kithe taken his last step forwards instead of hopping back. In a flash, a swath of silver light blurred across the knight's form; in the next instant his throat was gushing blood. Kithe held his curved sword high and to the side, holding the finishing position of the draw cut for a long moment before he sheathed his weapon again beneath his robes.

He turned his gaze to the other guard but spoke loudly enough so that the others, who had noticed the sudden commotion, could also hear. His voice was as vicious as his swipe had been.

Iulus watched with his light gray eyes, that were soft, yet hardened. His silver white hair was flying in the moderate sea breeze. In his hands, his platinum medallion was clutched. His lips moved in prayer, and he could feel the winds rising higher.
Soon, it was a veritable tornado where he stood. This he sent towards the army that was massing outside the village. His perch was a precarious one, and if an archer were to place a well aimed shot, he would fall from the crumbling town wall, and die. But that risk he was willing to take.

The massed winds were sent towards the army, and caused chaos of their ranks in it's passing. He even thought he saw a horse go flying over the heads of astonished knight's. He didn't waste his time. He knew that the remaining villagers were already in a tight fight with the mercaneries that had already penetrated the village. He ran towards the docks, and found Decklan and Tharr were already there, as well as Silan the dragon in mortal form.

The two knight's were quickly dispatched by Decklan and Tharr, that left a mage and two clerics of Takhisis for him and Silan. White energy flared from his medallion, and he shaped it into a ball of white hot flame-like mass. This he threw at the two evil clerics.

One fell to his knees, the white hot energy searing him to a crisp. But the other, who looked older and more omninous and powerful, had made a shield of a glossy obsidian like substance that reflected the searing white hot ball of holy energy.
It came back to him, and instead of hurting him, it seemed to give him more strength. The cleric was already busy with his own clerical spell, and a wraith from the Abyss appeared to battle him. His own power, he could feel, was starting to wane. He hoped the dragon would help him. "You cannot reach them. We tried once, yes, precious. I tried once;

Decklan regarded the dwarf cooly, "it is your call, you know this town better than any of us, what is our best option?"

Looking up he noticed two figures, one clad from head to toe in black, the other looked by all acounts to be some sort of cleric, but in this day and age could that be possible? Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a semi-hidden figure on a rooftop across the way. The dark shadows attention was focused squarely on the cleric, his hands made strange movements. Decklan took his bow from his back and notched an arrow. Taking careful aim, he let the arrow fly. A moment later the arrow struck the darkmage in the throat, his gargled last breaths were all that could be heard as he toppled off the roof and landed with a thud in the street.

Notching another, he walked into the street from his hiding place. In rapid succession he fired three arrows, instantly scheduling the three unfortunate knights an appointment with Thaksis. Securing his bow, he unsheathed his sword and ran to help the two who were now yards from a usable vessel.

"AYE! Who be ye, to come up and slice a guard's head off and ask me what's me plan?! And who be this fellow over yonder who killed a guard and asked authority from another?"

The dwarf paced back and forth, thinking tremendously, overwhelming his head. He rubbed his chin and stopped. He sat down, with his axe on his lap, and began to rub it thoughtfully. He opened his mouth a few times, only to close it again. Then it strucks him.

"Ah! What be that place ye be speaking of, Silar, where we could hide at and regroup ourselves? We can't take on this whole army! Well, at least, not yet. Standing on the first board of the docks, Kithe knew he couldn't wait for long. Although still shaken, the guards eyed him suspiciously, trying to muster the courage to attack the ominous figure. IC: As Decklan approached the first knight in his path, he heard the black robed figure shouting for the pirate's assistance. Looking back, he hoped to see the others taking the call to arms seriously, and hopefully sooner than later.

The dark knight who stood in his path swung his blade in an arc, hoping to knock Decklan off balance. Instead Decklan parried the mans blow and the knight stumbled forward slightly. Seizing the moment, Decklan spun sideways, his sword slicing the mans armor from his gut to the small of his back. Blood dripped profusely from the cut, the knight slumped to the ground, clutching his fatal injury.

Decklan was within 10 feet of the black robed man now, "Try to keep them occupied for a few more moments", he shouted, looking back at the others once more, hoping they were on the way.

Tharr nodded at Monty's idea. It sounded as if it might work, if nothing interfeered, of course.

The dwarf heard the strange figure's yell from the docks. He turned and saw the guards who were recovering and planning to advance on him. Then Decklan bgan to help the man, and Tharr had no choice but to join in. He yelled, "Lets help them! Come on!"

The dwarf picked up his great axe and plowed through the guards. He twirled and swung his axe as if it weighed a couple of pounds, when it weighed more like 60. He lopped off one man's leg, leaving him falling and screaming. He slashed another's gut, and entrails dribbled out.

So much for bluffing through this one... damn these people, they can't take a hint!

"Okay! But after we finish these guards. We should........" Monty ducked as a guard swung his sword, just missing his head. Monty kneed the man in the gut then pushed him into the water, his armor too heavy to swim in.

" We should go over the plans." Monty finished his sentence.

The guards charged as Kithe had said. The ten guards were now between the eight. Kithe held one side by the end of the docks, the rest were at the foot of the docks. Monty searched his pack for something. When he finally got it, he rolled the item across the floor of the docks. It was a small ball which let out a cloud of black smoke. As the knights charged in, Kithe's sword again flashed out from beneath his robes. With a short run forwards, he thrust the slightly curved end directly through the visor of one of the onrushing soldiers. Jumping upwards, he used the embedded weapon as a pivot to vault over the first few enemies, freeing it again as he landed. Without even looking he made his first reverse cut and, twirling, began hacking at the knights' rear, severing knee tendons and slashinging at arms with vicious understrokes designed to minimize the effects of the heavy armor. He fought silently and swiftly, making no complaint, nor cry of victory as he made sure that his part in the hammer and anvil strategy held."Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

Decklan watched as Kithe vaulted the group of knights and Monty made his charge. Decklan swiftly manuevered to the left of the remaining knights, they now had three angles to worry about.

He jabbed the first knight under his breastplate, his sword sliding easily through the underlying flesh. A second knight turned his attention to Decklan, and just as he he was about to swing, he was cut down from behind. The knight wailed in pain as his knees buckled and skin and tendons tore. " Im sorry knight, my mission is important. When you get the knights, come back and regroup with Wylin. Ask her for directions to the refuge location." Monty waved farewall to the knight he had only just met.

"Okay people. Time is an enemy! Those who wish to come with me on the recruiting mission, step into the sail boat. Me and Siliar cannot do this alone." Monty looked back and saw that the elf was playing around with one of the lines like it was his first time on a sail boat. Monty smiled at this site. It looked as though Monty would have to do all the sailing on this trip.

"Wylin will need warriors as well. I fear her mission will be more dangerous than mine. For she will stay on land, and not in the safety of the sea. Tharr and Kithe should go seperate ways. You are both great fighters, and both groups need one. As for Iulul, you possess charisma and clerical powers. You will show the towns in need that there is still hope. Decklan, I feel that you must go with Wylin, as i said, she needs solid fighters like you. Where is Wylin anyway? This would be a lot easier with her around." Monty looked around for the female elf.

Silar smiled. "do not worry about her...She is here...I suggest you all swallow your fears. We do not travel without due protection...She will not need as many "guards" Neither will I ...for we are your "escorts".

"Wylin! Sicarlia Ythsar Fwourns worthan!" He shouted in an unknown language. Abruptly, A great dragon appeared in the skies above the docks. THe dragon was One hundred and ten feet from her nose to tail..her wings stretched twice that length...one of the famed Mirror/crystal dragons...her feathered wings as grey as the clouds above her. She looked down, her blue eyes showing the concentration she was using in controling the dragonfear.

"I am WindRider, one of the eight children of the Crystal dragon Glimmer...the remainder of my family will want to help once they learn of our peril..." She shouted over the sudden wind that swept the docks.

Silar smiled and leaned back against the mast of the ship, content in the looks of shock and surprise.Do you ever question your life?

" Oh my God! A dragon!" Monty nearly fell off the docks. The few knights knocked into the sea swam away in fear. Monty's blank face of wonder quickly changed into a serious look of anger.

" Wait a minute Silar! Are you a dragon too? Does this mean that we are gonna ride on YOU and not my beloved ship?!" Monty stomped around in anger. If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

Seeing that they all had their missions he soonly departed only to see a dragon in front of him. His horse reared up but he payed no heed. "So the twins are dragons. They were very good to keep this little secret even from me." He smiled at the thought. "Well i am off. And I hope we all make it out of this alive." He whispered to his horse and his horse set off at a gallop. As he disappeared he saw the army in the city. Thank god they got out of there in time. He sliped into the forest where he could not be seena and road out to get the rest of the Solamnic Knight's. Which he hoped were atleast 50 cause they were definetly gonna need them.

Silar doubled over in hearty laughter. "No, my friend, I will stay as I am... Unless, that is, there is need of me. If need be, I will fly ahead or behind, whichever is of need. Come, we should be off." He turned and waved his hand to his twin.

Windrider grinned and turned to those who chose to stay with her (Hopefully a few ;))and lowered one feathered wing. "Come on...climb on...and don't worry about falling...I do know some magic and a barrier spell will keep you onl." she said, her head low.Do you ever question your life?

Monty sighed in relief.

"Thank god. Do you have any idea how great this is Silar?!" Monty rubbed his hands together in excitement. " What warriors wouldnt want to fight alongside two dragons! It is perfect! This brings so much hope! It makes our mission a lot easier. Also, i get to keep my wittle shippy wippy" Monty rose the jib and got to the wheel.

" Those who want to come with us hop in now. We cant let the armies find out about our departure. Hurry!" Monty pushed off from the docks, the boat was moving slowly away....If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

As the dragon swept downwards, Kithe bowed his head, his robes and cloak billowing out in the wind. The breeze caught at his hood, tearing it away, and for the first time his face was revealed. He was human, having long, black hair caught up closely at the back but with no beard or mustache. His eyes, however, were what held the attention of the onlooker- a wierd light-green color that was oddly unsettling. As the dragon landed, however, he closed them and seemed to allow himself to be lost in the moment....

With a snap his eyes came open, his hood was pulled up, and he turned to Tharr. "Go with the dragon, dwarf. It would not do for me to be seen with one of her kind."

So saying, he sprinted down the pier, sprang to the top of a piling, and lept into the rigging of Monte's ship, catching a cargo net and swinging around to look back at the others. He raised his hand, once, then turned and began to descend."Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

"I will go with the dragon", Decklan said, "I will help in any way possible". He regarded the others "Monty, Kithe, Silar....I wish you all safe travels, do not underestimate this enemy, we are still greatly outnumbered". "May the paths of our lives meet under better circumstances next time", he said with a smile.

After wishing the others farewell, he walked towards Wylin. "I would be honored to accompany you" he said with deep admiration. This was truly the most magnificent creature he had ever seen.

Tharr was the only one who had yet to make up his mind. Decklan wondered what was taking him so long?

OOC: I think Iulius is gone, he wanted to drop out earlier and it seems he didnt stick around till things get better. So, either Wylin had him as brunch, he slipped on the slippery dock, bonked his head and drowned, or he was killed by a dark knight in battle. What to do...what to do? I like the pre-lunch snack idea.

Monty smiled as Kithe came aboard. He was happy to have such a brave fighter come along. Monty did the right thing and got off the boat to say goodbye, his eyes began to water.

" Oh Decklan! Its been a great thirty minutes with ya!" Monty squeezed the man with all his strength.
" And you Wylin!" Monty tried the best he could to wrap his arms around the dragons neck. But it was impossible. He wiped off the tears from his face and head back to the ship. He stopped when he got to Tharr.

" My dwarf. Listen well! I would have loved for you to come with me, but i feel you are needed where Wylin is going. And believe me, im good when it comes to my feelings. I hope to see you all again. Goodbye my friends." He pat the dwarf on the back and stepped onto his ship.

" So, Silar, Kithe; any of you know how to sail?" Monty asked with a smile. If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

Kithe looked down from his perch in the rigging, then reached up and began to climb. Swaying on the rope netting, he managed to get to one of the topsheafs and began to untie it to let the sail come free."Eyes that fire and sword have seen,

As his horse kept on galloping he looked back and saw that he was deep in the forest. He then heard a shreak when a orc jumped him and he fell to the ground. Other orcs appeared at once and began to try and kill him. He dodged the first few until something big hit him. A huge dark knight was standing over him. He pulled out his sword and killed a couple of orcs as the knight tried to kill him but to no avail. When he was finished with the orcs he turned around to look for the knight. He was gone. He was then picked up and soon in terrible pain. He noticed that the knight had gone around him and attacked him. He tried to break free but could not. He saw a arrow comeing right towards him and duckt. It hit the knight right between the eyes. He then pulled out his sword and deflected an arrow right back into the shooter. He jumped back on his horse and ran for his life. He knew that soon many more would be following him and he had to make a gap between his pursuers.

Tharr shook his head in disbelief, tears slowly running down his face. He had stood there, saying nothing, thinking of his life in this beloved town and having to leave all he has left. These armies have desecrated his grounds, and the dwarf had to run like a coward.

"So it has come to running. I wish it wouldn't have been this way. I shall miss this village greatly." With that, Tharr climbed onto the dragon. Wylin suddenly tensed....every muscle went ridged. her head wipped around, her eyes searching the skies. and there just above the mountains, Wylin's eyes narrowed. Dragons! A wing of blues flew in tight formation headed their way. the five dragons flew close together, nearly wingtip to wingtip.

"Hang on! This could get rough!" she cried as she lept into the air, her great wings flapping wildly for altitude. Just as she leveled off, three of the five broke off and headed in her direction, the rest headed for the ship below.Do you ever question your life?

" Holy sh*t!" Monty kicked off from the docks with all his strength. He pulled tightly on the jib sheet. In that moment a blast of wind hit the sails sending them away from the docks very quickly. Monty looked back and saw Iulul. He was the one responsible for the wind!

A dragon swooped down and Monty cried out to the cleric. It was too late. The dragon snapped down on the cleric, biting off its head. Monty cried at the sight.

" Let's not let his sacrifice go to waste!" Monty screamed. He made the sailboat go as fast as possible. However, two dragons were gaining on them.

" Silar! Do something!" Monty yelled at the elf.If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

Silar mumbled something under his breath...and he rose up above the ship....and shifted in midair....he dived at the one blue that had just attacked the cleric.

He caught the blue in a tight grip, and they both fell like stones for the water below. at the last moment....Silar's voice could be heard murmering words in arcane....the Blue could find that he couldn't move...and Silar released the blue...to have it crash into the water....only to drown.

The second Blue caught SkyTouch from behind...He Roared, and attempted to flip around, but the Blue had it's claws set tight to Skytouch's wings. Skytouch thought quickly as they both fell....a void between dimmensions...the void that he and Wylin loved to spend time..the place where silence reins.... In a flash of light, the two dissappeard....

within the void, Silar used the advantage caused by the sudden confusion that struck the blue. another flash...and Silar was standing once more on the deck of the ship....the second Blue gone... He looked up, and watched his twin deal with the three attacking her.... Do you ever question your life?

As Silar looked up, something fell against him, hard, and he nearly struck Kithe in surprise. The black-cloaked man slumped to the deck. Leaning on his sword, he was obviously stunned.

"Darkness, dragon, what was that?! I knew that grabbing your hindleg wasn't the best exit after I jumped the first one, but I didn't expect.... and the..." Kithe promptly vomited from system shock, and began pulling himself towards the mast.

Decklan felt the chill wind redden his face as the dragon leapt into the air. His shoulder length brown hair whipped about his face, his eyes teared. Both he and the dwarf were holding on for dear life as the dragon readied itself for battle.

"Over there", Decklan cried, pointing to the East, his voice almost muted by the rushing air. Three sapphire blue dragons emerged from the clouds, their site's set squarely on Wylin.

Honach smiled as his troops rushed into the village, plundering and killing the villagers, setting the homes ablaze. He smiled as his dragons prepared to attack Wylin, not noticing the apparent failure at the docks. He was not worried. Monty helped Kithe up then went to the tiller. He was grateful for survival. He was not worried for Wylin and the others, he had a feeling they would be just fine. The sailboat was moving across the water at a great speed. Monty looked back and realized, the docks were out of sight.

"Well oh wise Silar! Where should we head first?" Monty asked of the dragon, back in its elven form.If your expecting a kick in the balls and you get a slap in the face, its a victory!

As Tharr held on to the dragon, a light trembling in his pocket stole his attention from the oncoming dragons. He stuck his hand in it and pulled out the stone that he found when he awoke and forgotten about. It was pulsing yellow and white, trembling in his hand. Small bits of lightning emitted from it, reddening the dwarf's palm. Then, as he watched it, the sphere grew an inch larger and turned the color of dark blue, the color of the attacking dragon's scales. It lifted from his hand and levitated over his head.

Tharr just stared at the stone, frozen by anticipation and fear. He lowered his hand and the ball stayed where it was, pulsing blue. Then the ball's color held at a very dark blue and the lightning shocks grew. Rings of energy surrounded the stone and then a huge bolt of eletricity shot out at one of the oncoming dragons, striking it in it's neck, making it fall to the ground. Another bolt struck the other in its chest, causing it also to die.

Then the stone became normal size and dropped. Tharr used his quick reflexes to catch it and then stared at the stone dumfoundedly. He stuck it back in his pocket and said to Wylin, "I guess we wont have to worry about them..."The Time is Near....No More Darkness...The Flames Scar the Night...The Fire Still Burns...My Future is Clear...A Date With The Devil...A Dance With His Mistress...My Path is Chosen....
