Across the arid Plains of Dust, a raven flew low. The silver moonlight caused its white feathers to glow with a silver hue. Its path lay ahead, straight and to the east, where a lonely figure stood, clad in white robes. Two green eyes peered out over the desert, seeing more than just sand and darkness. The raven drew closer, and closer, coming to land on the out stretched arm offer to it. The eyes of the raven fixed with figures whose green eyes glowed with a mystical but dim light. A conversation passed between the two, images came and fled, visions of other places teaming with people, and the last of a Tower, shrouded in darkness.

As the silver rays of Solinari struck the figure, their head lolled skywards, the eyes fixing on the moon.

You call me Lord of the Silver Moon…what is it you wish of me?

There was a silence, as the figure communed with her god.

I can do as much…but they may not accept me…will you show them who I am…their arrogance may blind them…

Again the silence.

Very well…I do as you ask…when shall I go to them…will the forest permit me…of course it will…how could it keep me out…

Silence.

No I am not haughty, I know my limitations…you know them more so…I will go to the mages……though I think little will come of it…

The raven cawed loudly as it rested itself and ruffled its feathers. A companion that had been with her since the beginning, since her birth. Given to her by Solinari himself.

With an audible sigh she answered…”Yes silver, we are going.”, her gaze left the moon and she turned, walking out into the desert, preparing to leave on the wings of magic.

But she turned her head, her hair the colour of a the very moon she looked at swaying as she did.

I shall not fail you…Darkness may be dawning anew, but I will fight it with my last breath….of that you can be certain my……farewell for now…Father.

With that she left…a soft shimmer hanging in the air.

"Ji'thai! Ji'thai?"

A flushed grinning face appeared amidst the dewy foliage of the small elven town of Thynanosti, effectively startling the owner of the kind, but insistant voice.

"Yes, mother?"

Solarious studied her son for a moment, gauging the mess that had become of his soft golden hair, now strewn with berries and twigs. She let her gaze fall, but left her chin high with a disapproving air and glared at him from over her pale cheeks.

Ji'thai wilted a bit under her glare--she was the only one that could effectively ruin his perpetually good spirits and she now watched him sink into the brush till his face was entirely wreathed--and almost severed--by green. The ridiculous sight of it caused her to finally smile and he greatfully returned the expression, suddenly and easily teeming with a good-nature that had, more often then not, proved itself to be highly infectious.

Solarious now looked on her son with pride. He had the looks and talents of his father, a prominant mage and the most well-liked elf she had ever had the priveledge to know--and love. Both father and son were tall and graceful as was expected; both had incredible tolerant smiles and pools of soft cerulean for eyes that people had a tendency to drown in.

In her opinion, her husband's reputation was just short of the worst-kept secret on all of Krynn. He was known for his herbs, his shop, and his friendly--and free--advice on everything from the meaning of existance to what made the best tea for a cold winter night before a roaring fire.

But, despite this, he was not that well known and that was exactly the way she liked it. The last thing this family--and this town--needed was for the world to come knocking on Jith'ki's door and bring their problems with them.

Still, she thought with a laugh, she couldn't imagine them ever having an enemy...perhaps world peace was only a knock away...

"Mother?"

"Hm. I did call you for a reason...now what was it..."

Ji'thai grinned again and said glibly, "You were going to tell me I could travel to the Tower with father next month."

"Why yes, I was...No!" Solarious aimed a fake punch at her son's shoulder which he nimbly dodged, still smiling. "You know what I said, and what's more you know I meant it! Besides, the mages would not want a child underfoot. Even you."

"I know," Ji'thai replied, trying his best to look downcast. His eyes danced though. He knew perfectly well he would get to go sooner or later. How could he not, being the son that he was?

"Now where was I? Oh yes, I was going to ask you, you little creep, to go tend the garden. We must have supply enough for your father's absence."

"Yes, mother," Ji'thai replied happily, bounding off for the back of the house. Solarious watched him go and sighed. Yes, one day he would leave for the Tower and she would be alone...and one day he would take his Test and she would be proud, but still alone...

"Oh, come now!" she chided herself. "It's only a few times a year. Silly gathering." She smiled and tucked a stray lock of golden hair behind a gently pointed ear before moving off to clean the mageshop.

Her feet landed on soft grass. Green as her sparkling eyes. Lush and moist with the morning dew. Travelling the corridors of magic, she came to the Wayerth forest. SHe stood before the spider web thin gates, gates that no army on Krynn could even move. She could feel the power radiating from the Tower. Centuries of magic had been placecd within it, it was a store house of mystery and power....this was her first time here.

SHe touched the gates, they swung open on silent hinges. Stepping within the courtyard, several mages stopped. Their eyes fixed on her. She blushed slightly at the attention but kept her face impassive. She walked on, a few of the wizards began to approach her, she inturn quickened her pace.

They knew that she was obviously a magic user, and more obvious, of the white robes, but none had seen her before. They took her perhaps for an inturder, but how could she have entered the forest had she not been invited. Suddenly however, a figure stood before her. Clad also in robes of white, she bowed to the old man...."Great One...Par-Salian....you have been expecting me?"

His gaze, usually soft and gentle was filled with a near fury and impossible curiousity. "Indeed, your coming to us was parted unto me....however i refuse to believe such an aligation....it borders on blasphemey."

She stood defensivley, "You doubt the words of Solinari My Lord.....are his words considered blasphemious by his own followers. Much had to have changed in a few days for such to happen.", her sarcastic tone drove through him. "Very well young lady.....come with me....we have much to discuss before i introduce you to the Conclave.", he sighed. "There is much to discuss."

"I shall follow Great One....but i am no young lady...i am older by far than even you...."

Silver-haired Kelan couldn't wait to travel to the Tower. He had been training hard, mastering the spells and filling his spellbook with new spells almost everyday. His master, Esparit of House Mystic, saw the great talent for magic in him. Kelan was very talented indeed, impressing his tutors by performing a very advanced spell in his early years before apprenticeship. He summoned a familiar, a silvery white mouse.

It was very odd at first, but then he got used to him, and he named him Milkrun for his silvery white coat. He was very useful, he fit into small spaces and he could spy on others for him. He had gotten himself into alot of mischief that way when he was younger. Since their souls were linked, if he was to die, Kelan would die too.

His herblore was average, but he usually depended on his friend Ji'thai 's knowledge of plants. They had been childhood friends, playing magic together, throwing sand or dirt from the garden in each others eyes pretending to use a sleep spell. They also went to mageschool together in Silvanost, where they studied with some of the highest ranking mages in the land at the Mansion of the Moons. He and Ji'thai apprenticed with different masters, he wanting to advance in magic theorology, and Ji'thai in herblore.

Not long ago, his master had told him that he was ready for the Test, and he would travel to Wayreth. He heard that Ji'thai got similar news, and they were to travel in the same caravan together with the other apprentices. His father was proud to see his son go, as well as his mother, whom were both high ranking mages in House Mystic.

It was getting late, so he decided to leave the rest of the packing and sorting in the morning. "Good night Milkrun. Don't forget, we leave tommorow," he told his mouse-familiar.

Don't forget to pack your rose petals, said a voice in his head."Oh! That's right! I'll have to borrow some from mother," he smiled. Milkrun was always reminding him of things he forgot to do, like a second mind. Kelan didn't know where he'd be without him sometimes.

White Solinari shined through his window, like a blessing. The light reflected on the silvery white coat of Milkrun, who was lying asleep in his new robe on the floor. Finally, he closed his eyes and slept peacefully, and dreamed of magic.

Falkon Kharliss frowned and paced his room. He had pressing business with the conclave, but they had pushed him to the side, obviously thinking that since his magic was born of the earth, not the moons, that he was of no concequence.

Falkon had hair and eyes of molten gold. his movements where fluid, and as he paced, he held all the grace of a large cat. He was medium built, but to any who looked his way could see the power within that frame. Falkon was a Kharlissian, a race spawned out of the Kharliss mountains. a race of shapeshifters, a race who survived on blood...

Throughout the centuries, the male Karlissians where the protectors, but after two hundred years of life, color seeped from their world, and emotions ceased. the longer the males lived, the closer they came to being a Vampire, one of the cursed...one who killed for the breif rush of power....the only light, as dark as it was, in thier endless darkness of existance. Some were stronger than others....like Falkon, at six hundred years.

The Karlissian women where treasured, for those Males who had found lifemates, the color returned, emotions flooded back in a rush... The Females where the light to their darkness....their only salvation...

lately, females were scarce, most children born have been male, and more and more males have been succumbing to the darkness....and the remaining males had to hunt him down, before he did too much damage, to either the Kharlissians, one of their females, or to any of the mortal races of Krynn.

Falkon was known as the Golden Angel, he was a hunter, he found and stopped the vampires before they did too much damage...he had come to the conclaive to speak of his problem, to plead for help, and he had been brushed aside.

Falkon paced, and bit his lip, reveling in the flash of pain his teeth caused, his molten eyes locked onto the doorway, waiting impatiently. In the thinking of a human, a 100 years is a long time
To the Earth, a 100 years is Nothing
This planet lives and breathes on a much vaster scale.
We can't Imagine its slow and powerful rhythms-we haven't the humility to try.
Thus, If we where gone tomorrow, the Earth would not miss us.

OOC: I just realised....i haven't even given her a name yet...oops....hehe.

IC: Sandaria walked a pace behind the Great Magus. She had to give him respect, for one she had been ordered to do so by her higher power, that and the mage was powerful, one the most powerful on Krynn. To that there was little dispute.

He led her to a room, lush and slightly perfumed. There he sat down, resting his weary bones. His white beard and hair matched his robes, blue eyes tried to pierce her soul, to no avail. He grew anxious around this woman, she un-nerved him, power radiated from her as though she were the silver moon itself. But at the same time, he felt empowered. Strengthend, as though in his youth again, weilding unfathomable power once again as he did in his prime, without the tiredness that often follwed it now.

"Who are you?", his voice was ice, cold and hard. She smirked. "Do you not already know? Has our Silver Lord not already spoken with you.....most likely he has....but can this be i hear you ask as so many will in the future. Can she be the Silver Daughter, she who has been birthed of Solinari's Magic and given mortal form. I can answer this.....yes....it is i....The Silver Daughter. I have seen the birth of power, raw and in its purest form. I have watched as a Golden Dragon hatched and breathed air for the first time. I have seen the mountains grow old with age and crumble into dust, only to be reborn.....on the wings of magic have i seen true wonders......"

Her green eyes darkend. "But i have also seen fear. I have seen true death. I have seen chaos which no mortal, not even you could ever imagine. Evil in its darkest form has crossed my path, only be diverted by the light of the upmost splendure.....", she shook with excitement at the memory. Yet chilled with fear.

"I never lie about who i am Great One......i have sacrificed god hood to save this world which i have come to love as my has.....i have seen mortals come and go....and now i shall go as they do.....from the plane of my fathers moon i have crossed, broken boundries and faced armies of shadow and flame that would prevent my coming. In doing so, much of my former power has been lost....the higher powers have stripped much of it, making me weak and far from my past glory."

"I come to avert evil Par-Salian, ad do not toil, i come not to take your seat as head, for such is beyond my desires, no....i come to ask for aid. I come to ask for guidence. This is my forst time as a motal Par-Salian, i come to it on unsteady feet."

His face had softend, his eyes brimming with tears. He stood up and walked to her. Embracing the Silver Daughter, he let her weep. She now knew fear the mortal way and it ripped her apart. Evil was spreading, faster than she had expected. She had the strength, but not the courage, for this she needed help.

"I will help you Child of the Magic......Silver Daughter....forgive my doubt....it comes with old age.....however i leave you to rest for now....i have other buisness to attend to before i bring you before the Conclave.", with that he slipped her out of his arms and sat her down. Smiling he left, the smell of roses in the air.

Falkon paced....he was getting more and more upset at being locked away, seeming as if he was being tossed aside. his hands twitched reflexivly, and he shoved them in the pockets of his breeches...he bit down harder on his lip, and the wash of pain brought back some sense....

I hadn't planned for Ji'thai to be this near his Test, nor was he going to be Silvanesti...but I've decided to go along with it cuz it's a mess to change things around and I might miss my opportunity to bring him further into the plot.

Just don't do it again. :P))

Jith'ki paced around his room in the Tower of Wayeth. He was nervous and rightly so. The usually reliable Par-Salian had completely missed the lunch they were to have had together before the big meeting of the Conclave. It was so unlike him that the elf had inquired and been told--rather rudely--that the Head of the Conclave was busy.

Just that, busy.

Which meant, of course, that something was wrong.

"And my son's on the way," the mage growled. He was instantly startled by the weight of this...bad mood. But he was an elf. Patience was his heritage.

He could wait.

He could.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"Have you everything you need?" Solarious called. Ji'thai stuck his head in the door and grinned.

"I think so, mother. I can't wait to see Kelan again."

The elfmaid frowned good-naturedly. "Just promise me you won't get into any trouble!" she called as he ducked out of the room again.

"Mom!" he yelled back, indignant. Solarious smiled sadly. She hadn't expected it so soon. Her husband was gone and now her only son had gotten the letter...

It was a beautiful day. Soft light shone through the canopy of the verdent Silvanesti forest, illuminating the still sleeping homes of the elves. It was early, and she knew Ji'thai had been too excited to sleep. Oddly though, he seemed happier about seeing his old friend than taking the Test he had been preparing for all his life. It was so like her son, it brought tears to her eyes.

Of course, Ji'thai choose that moment to come back into their living room. He stopped cold, a smile frozen on his sweet features. "What's wrong, mother?"

"Nothing, dear...I'm happy for you."

He smiled and hugged her. It was too much like good-bye and she was the first to pull away. "Now, now, you still need..."

"Too late! The caravan's here! I wonder if Kalen is already aboard..."

Kissing his mother on the cheek, Ji'thai flew out of the door.

"Don't help Kalen cheat when it comes to herbs!" she yelled after him. The last thing she heard from her son was his ringing laughter.

((OOC: *slaps himself across the head with a fish* Sorry, starlite. I won't do it again, promise :)))

The wheels of the caravan were creaking loudly as it slowly, but surely made its way across the damp ground. It had rained the other night, and it was a blessing at that. The rain brought much needed water to the city, to the plants and the forests around it that were starting to dry up in the heat. Kelan loved the rain, he would run outside and dance around when he was young, bu at that moment detested it.

His small, inexpertly made herb garden had flooded, and most of the herbs and plants being grown for his spell components were either floating around, or sinking under the mud. His mother had smiled when she saw this. She had constantly reminded him not to use dark soil, for it wasn't good at absorbing the water too quickly.

He had argued that it helped grow them quicker, and his mother had left it at that. She never liked arguing at her son, and decided to let him learn his lesson.

He sighed. "Well, I guess I'll have to borrow some from Ji' thai," he had said. Now it was mid afternoon, and the warm sun was reflecting the beauty of the forest, making it even more by the sparkling of the wet leaves. Milkrun was poking his head out of his robes, and twitching his little nose to get a scent. It was interesting for him, becasue of all the new spell components he had purchased earlier that day. All these new scents, it's intoxiacting! he remebered him saying. He smiled.

They were now in the area where Ji' thai resided, and he saw his friend waiting with his bag and pouches all ready. The other three young mages smiled, and waved. They were all excited about going to do their Tests, if not a little frightened. He remeber the sagely advice he got from his master: "Always remember to have the right components when performing a spell," he had said. "Yes, master" he replied, blushing.

He was apt at forgetting the right combinations of components, even after he mastered the spell-words. He decided to work on it on the trip. Milkrun's nose twitched again, smelling the arrival of a new mage about to enter the caravan. It was Ji' thai.

((I'll stop there, and give you a chance to reply ;)))

starlite4774

Ji'thai paused a little as he crossed the threshold of his house. It could very well be the last time he was here for awhile and it was a disconcerting, if not unpleasant, feeling.

Still, there were people there for him. His father, Kelan...what else did he need? He would see his mother soon, and hopefully she could shower him with praise for completing his Test...his father would show him some of the more potent sections of the gardens as a sign of pride and trust...all would be well with the world and this momentary discomfort would fade like a bad dream.

The caravan came to a halt with a loud creak that shattered the young elf's reverie. He smiled bravely and jumped in, swinging his pack to the top with reckless abandon.

The first thing he did was to note the sorry state of Kelan's herb garden.

The second thing he did was to fall back out of the caravan, laughing until his sides hurt.

Five minutes later, still giggling and with the help of his fellow students, Ji'thai was in the caravan and hugging his best friend, starting what would surely be an incredible journey.

The second thing he did was to fall back out of the caravan, laughing until his sides hurt.

Five minutes later, still giggling and with the help of his fellow students, Ji'thai was in the caravan and hugging his best friend, starting what would surely be an incredible journey.

"Hey! Mind if I tag along? I've had a long day. And my pouches seem to be getting heavier by the step. Hmmmm I onder where I got all this stuff anyways. Onus Tanglethumb at yer sevice"

onus stood still with his topnot falling to the side of his cheek as he looked upon the giggling ball of fun that was before him.....expecting that look he always assumed people gave kenders. He never could tell why people where always so 'happy' to see him, always being so nice as to 'show' hime the quickest way out f town, he guessed that thoughtfulness was a trait people were learning everywhere.

"This is a lot more fun than where i just came from........Some REALLY mean guy had the nerve to tell me I wasnt really real. And people said I was crazy.......just hope you dont meet that guy. He even told me........"

Onus quickly hushed as he perceived he was being looked upon with typical disbeleif, a look he was all to familiar with. no one EVER believed a kender story.........even if it was the truth.

"So.......you guys got room for one more? im good at keeping track of things. Come on, i promise i'l behave."So what is it? Do you just flip a coin in the morning to decide what you will be for the day? Heads Knight of Neraka Tails Solamnic Knight :D"

"Erm..." he said, already holding tightly his possesions. His face was still red from laughing, but flushed when he saw the kender. They would have to be careful, but Kel liked kender. "Good day to you master kender," he said, speaking for the rest of the group, "Errm, we would be honored if you accompanied us on this trip."

He smiled sheepishly. Everyone else were storing their possesions in a chest, and magically locking it so the kender didn't get into their things. 'More out of safety for the kender'.

Ji'thai stared at Kelan. He knew that his friend had a soft spot for kender, but this was unbelievable!

The young elf smiled nervously at the kender. He had never met one before, but he had been warned by at least half the Silvanesti nation that they were sneaky little devils...always smiling while stealing everything you're worth.

Now, Ji'thai wasn't worth all that much, but he scooted as far away from the kender as he could while still being in Kelan's line of sight, and magically locked his herbs--some rather rare--away in the small trunk he had brought with him.

"Kelan...what are you doing??" he whispered, hoping the kender didn't speak Elven. "We'd be honored? Not only are you getting our stuff picked over, but the other mages are likely to hang us!"Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms munching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Kel was also know not to act very good undewr pressure. He thought it would be fun to have a kender along, as long as he didn't casue any trouble. "Relax Ji' thai. I'll be responsible for the kender," he said to his friend. The other mages were already chatting with the fun-loving kender, and were listeing to some of his stories regarding "Uncle Trapspringer".

"I want to see him now." Jith'ki said firmly. The young red robe standing in his way glanced up from the floor nervously. The elf wasn't known for his temper, but the look of calm control on his face--barely contained--was enough to give anyone who knew mages and their power a heathy respect for distance.

"I am sorry, Mastermage. Par-Salien is busy..."

"Yes, you have said that twelve times now. My response remains the same."

The nervous young mage tried desperately to remember just how tolerant white robes were required to be. Sneaking a look at the not-quite-glowering elf, he decided he wasn't going to risk it. He whispered something to an equally young companion who better kept Par-Salien's company and the white robe ran off.

"A message is on the way, Mastermage..."

--------------------------------------------------

"Master?"

The apprentice stepped preciesely one foot into the room that held the Head of the Conclave and his two guests.

"Pardon my intrusion, sir, but there is a Master Jith'ki here. He is...most insistant upon seeing you."

Falkon bowed formally and smiled at at Sandaria. "greetings Lady, it's a pleasure." Falkon said as he took her hand in his. He raised her hand to his lips and promptly felt an odd feeling circle his heart....as if she where something he was missing....

He reeled suddenly as color flooded back into his life...he blinked once, twice...disbelieving what he saw.Keep your strength
And keep your pride
Keep your wits close by your side
Time will tell, and freedom come-
Before the fight is done.

Sandaria allowed him to raise her hand to his lips. But, something odd occured as swayed almost where he stood...."Are you alright.....", there was a note of concern in her voice, for which she would normally be without.

Par-Salian turned as the apprentice walked in. "Jith'Ki....really? Well....i am....", he noticed the forlon and almost horrid look on his face....."Very well....i will go to him.....tell him i will be with him presently.", and the young mage bounded away, bowing as he did so.

"If you two will excuse me for now i have other buisness to take care of.....", he bowed slightly to Sandaria, and nodded to Falkon, then he turned and headed out the door.

So anyways, uncle trap...................

Stopping his story he turned his attention to the goings on of the room. This looked like things could get interesting............if he could just 'investigate' his surroundings more......... ;D"So what is it? "What is going on here?" Jith'ki exploded as Par-Salien entered the room. The human mage raised an eyebrow and the elf threw up his hands. "Lunch? The meeting? Did you completely forget? Now, I know something is really wrong."

The elder mage stopped himself, taking deep breaths. It was odd...he had a terrible feeling...Anxiety...about Ji'thai. Yes, that's it...

"I'm sorry, old friend," Jith'ki said, this time with a measure of calm. "But I know something is going on and I don't like it already. Now, far be it from me to enter into business that is not my own, but..."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Your responsibility, eh, Kelan?" Ji'thai asked with a bit of amusement. He tried to look angry as he pulled a bit of terrin root from the kender's pouch and backed away in a hurry, but there was amusement in his almond eyes. He added the potent plant to his own pouch and magically sealed it as best he could. The kender smiled and moved off.

Ji'thai relaxed against back of his seat, noting the path of the little creature by the general uproar that flowed from his end of the caravan to the next. Still, no shouts were particularly murdurous so maybe it wasn't the end of the world...

The elf looked at Kelan and laughed.

Par-Salian mused at his old friend. He knew all too well what was really at his heart. "No my friend i did not forget, however i had other buisness that unfortunatetly had to take place over our meeting. Again i apologise.!, he thought carefully about how to ay his next thought. "True, it is far from your buisness, however, i fear i need all of the Conclaves council on this matter."

"We have a visitor, one my own order....sort of....she has travelled far and has a fair bit a reputation. You will all meet her soon though, for i am calling a Meeting of the Conclave, they should all know of her presence should they become alarmed if they find out other wise. I assume that you will be there aswell?"

OOC:Star....are you wanting your char to be on the conclave yeah?

((OOC: Erm...isn't the Conclave just made up of the main three? I can't remember...trying to get stuff in before I fall asleep. I would like to be in on the meeting, but Jith'ki and his son are definatly white robes. I don't want them to be dark elves and I'm seeing if I can write a character without going neutral. :D))

Jith'ki nodded. "I will be there, my friend. I think...I think maybe you wanted this, my overreaction." The elf smiled. "Or else you would have just canceled our lunch plans. Tell me...do I get a preview? Any hints as to the nature of this strange visitor who brings you so much anxiety?"Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms munching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Onus always enjoyed the warm reception he recieved wherever he went. Why, the always gave him plenty of space to go about his way. He was totally amazed at how tightly they would clutch their possesions and still somehow have them 'fall' into his pockets. *guess they need to hold on a lil tighter* he'd say, fully intending to give it back only to think it rude to do it so quickly.

That made him think to what was in his pouches "ji'thai was in such a hurry to get his terrin root back that he didnt bother to take back some of the other 'interesting' things he ummmm dropped" Besides....onus thought, "Maybe he did it so that i could hold it for him. maybe i outta....................................:D"So what is it?
