Pyranthas
04/01/2002 5:10 PM

Pyranthas looks out the window of his temple on the lost Templar contentient, and stairs out over the horizan. He senses something to the far north of Ansalon. He doesn't quite know what it is, but he doesn't like the feelings hes detecting, and he was hundreds of miles away. He walks to his chair and sits down and closes his eyes.

His spirit exits his body and travels over the astral plane. His spirit moves swiftly until it reaches the point where he detects the negative energy. There he stops and and exits the astral plane and his body appears at the location.

There in front of him is a vortex of swiriling energy. At the mouth stood a wizard of the black robe talking to a heavily cloaked being. They spoke in a strange language which Pyranthas did not reconize, and he was fluent in nearly all of Krynn's languages and a few of the outer and inner plane languages. The wizard looked elvish, but Py couldn't make out what the out worlder was. There was something familiar about this energy, something he had felt before, but what was it. In fear of being discovered, he transports himself back to his temple to try to figure out what this energy was.

Remembering a few words of the language the two spoke, Pyranthas goes to his library right away to start studing, when he stops dead in the tracks and realizes what the language was before he even opened a book. It was a different dialect of Templar. This meant only one thing... Tanar'ri.

This baffled Pyranthas, because he knew that language because it was the same version of Templar that he would write in and speaks with his people. Could it be that the Tanar'ri had created a new version of their language? Pyranthas's mind started racing. What did all of this mean? Who was this elven wizard, and why was he communicating with a creature as vile and evil as the Tanar'ri. How did he learn the Templar/Tanar'ri language. That language was not know to the people of Krynn. The mighty Templar's hands close tightly, and he begins giving off energy in the form of lightning as he feels anger starting to welling up within.

He darts off and starts throwing off his robes and throws on his new set of Templar plate mail. He wraps his tail around his waist as if it was just a furry white belt. He slings his massive sword over his sholder and fastens his baldric. At his side he has two more long swords and and about a dozen daggers placed insheaths along his baldric.

"I must see Thorn now," and the Templar disappears.

The Thorn sat in his study in the Silver Tower. Cai'de was around but was busy at the moment. After his marriage, the mage enjoyed spending time around his wife, even if it was just in the same building. The silver robe sighed, looking over his collection of stuff. He had been gathering items of power for many years. Now he could only think about those he had lost, especially the crystal. Thinking about the crystal ball always made him think of Py."Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?"

((OOC: Mind if I join?))

Kiri-koli pushed her silver cape aside as she sat down in the lush room the apprentice had shone her to. She was, so far, extremely impressed with the Tower of the silver robes to which she had never been before, but she could remember stories that Majie had told her...she rearranged her cape around her long legs and fixed her long, jet-black hair as it had been blown about by the wind on their journey. Her emerald gaze rose and she sighed.

A man paced about the room nervously. He also wore a silver cape but it was shorter than hers, more practical. It was clean--now--but bunched and stretched as if he spent time doing a lot of physical activities. His face was also clean--and surprisingly handsome--but nothing could tame his black hair and he kept his wild expression even when sleeping.

Kiri watched him for a moment, still somewhat disturbed by the fact that he never blinked his startling green eyes. It was eerie...

Finally--"Nîm-Jolin! Sit down!!"

Nîm bounced to a stop and turned to give his sister a savage grin. He started pacing again a second later.

Kiri sighed. "Think the Thorn will let us have it?"

"Have what?" Nîm shot back. "Does this mean you have made up your mind?"

Kiri scowled, though he had a point. She couldn't quite pinpoint what she wanted or how she was going to ask for it. Finally, just because he was staring at her with those unnerving eyes, she said, "The sword. That's what I'll ask for...And maybe a few books."

Nîm laughed, and, as always, the sound was rather manic. He kept examining the walls whenever he made a pass...and Kiri recalled that her brother was used to being outside. Perhaps he's claustrophobic... she mused. He could be, how would she know? It had barely been a year since he had found her...her lost brother, she had believed him dead...

His voice interrupted her thoughts. "Where's Jenovan? I thought he was coming to help you with this."

"He might still come..." Kiri said, shifting uncomfortably. Truth was, she was pretty sure he wasn't coming...and she hated the thought...hated being away from her love for even a day...

Nîm shrugged. "You ever meet this Thorn guy? What's he like?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the door of the Thorn's study.

The apprentice knocked softly, as if she hoped there would be no answer. She did hate interrupted the Thorn when he was in his study...and this was just another delay before the mage would see Cai'de. They were so happy when they were together and the apprentice thought it was sweet...

But the two mages had been most insistant. Sighing, she knocked again. This time there was an answer and a query at the nature of the interruption.

"Master Thorn...there are two people here to see you. They wear the silver robes but I have never seen them before. The woman, Kiri-koli, has asked for an audience as soon as is convenient..."Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching on magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

The Thorn looked up from his musings. "Take them to the library and tell them I'll be there shortly," said the mage, his thoughts still lingering on Py and the crystal ball."Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?"

The apprentice returned to the room where she had left the two mages and lead them towards the library, trying to ignore the male as he kept edging around her, his wide eyes a startling green.

"The Thorn will be with you shortly," she said, blushing as she left the room. She saw the male smile out of the corner of her eye and blushed harder.

Pyranthas

Pyranthas appears infront of Thorn heavily armored. Energy in the form of lightning dances around his body. He looks at his friend and bows his head.

"Thorn we have trouble. I beleive that the Tanar'ri maybe planning an attack. In Northern Ansalon I sensed an energy disturbance, so I went to investigate. What I saw there, was a vortex of negative energy and two beings. One a black robed mage that appeared to be Elven, and the other larger being was a heavily robed figure, which I could not identify. They both gave off energy that seemed familiar to me, but I could place my finger on it then. Also, they both spoke a language that I had not heard before, or so I thought. Once I transported myself to my temple, did I realize what language they spoke. It was Templar, but with a different dialect. I know that the Tanar'ri speak Templar, but it is the same way I speak it. What I am wondering is if it is possible that they could have created a different form of the language, or if they don't have a new breed. The energy from both figures were the same type, but the larger hooded one was much stronger. I am also wondering, since I have seen any younger Tanar'ri since... long long before I am who I am now, and I thought they were just as ugly as the adults. This whole thing is driving me crazy Thorn. I got to know the answer to this question. I am thinking about entering the Abyss to get the information I want," Pyranthas says in his long winded speech as he look at his friend. "Sorry for the long winded speech my friend. You want to come with me? It would be like old times. Cai'de is always welcome to join in. Also... I've been itching to try out this new armor of mine in battle. Its a form of mithril that is strong as a diamond, but it is really flexable and actually changes its sizes to fit the wearer."

"You know that I'd love to go but, I'm not sure that my wife will be thrilled with the idea of you and I traipsing around the Abyss, causing trouble," said the Thorn. "Also, there are some people I am supposed to meet. Maybe if we deal with them first and check with Cai'de, I can probably go." "Well, as I said Cai'de can come if she wants and we can meet with these people. I'm sure she will allow you to come Thorn. Every man needs adventure and I know I've been in that Temple way too long with my nose in the books and training my technique and mind. "Thorn, lasagna's done!" Cai'de said, smiling, as she entered the study and kissed him on the cheek. She was wearing a simple straight skirt and blouse, though mostly covered with a tomato-splattered apron. "Oh, hello Pyranthas! I was just about to serve dinner! You're free to join us, if you'd like; I made extra (it's his favorite)." She turned to Kiri and Nim. "If you'd like to join us two, that'd be wonderful!"

"That sounds wonderful. I would be delighted to join you for a meal. I haven't eaten anything besides bread and fish in the last few months. It's a custom of the Templar to purify the soul I guess. All I know is it gets rather boring after a while," the Templar says and then removes his baldric and sword belt and places them upon a chair with his cloak. His tail unwraps from around his waist and trails behind him as he wanders around the library.

Ayeka rested comfortably outside. Her long golden hair was braided up, her violet-blue eyes half closed. She Yawned and the White wolf at her side looked at her curiously. She turned to check on NightHeart. The Black mare was grazing about ten yards away from her.

Koshani wondered aimlessly towards the silver tower, it seemed as though he had been walking for days, whereas in fact it had been mere hours. He had not the strength to cast a simple teleportation spell, he was exhausted. His black robes, once splendant, hung it tatters around him as did his leather breast plate. He trudged onwards, leaning heavily upon his staff, his short sword, blood stained, clattered against it rythmically.

Dried blood marred his forehead and side, a gaping wound, which had begun to fester, lay exposed on his upper arm. He could not feel the pain of his injuries, exhaustion took presidance over that. The tower was but a blur as he stumbled forwards.

In those short, mere hours ago, Koshani had came across the plans of a fellow black robe. He was not one to fear much on this plane of existence but the plans of this mage caused him to pale and cower.

Koshani was a War Magus, a revered member amoungst the Black Robes of High Sorcery,, however many in the Tower at Wayert believed him to be renegade, for he would use magicks that other black robes would bawk at. He cared not what they thought, his loyalties lay with Nuitari, and so they would remain, no matter the magic he used.

After the mage had descovered that Koshani knew of his plans, or some of then anyway, he sent a force of beings after him, as well as dragons. These beings were like no other he had encountered on Krynn, he barely escaped with his life, then he had to face the dragons, this he preferred to the beings. Only one word had stuck in his mind after the battle...Tanar'ri.

Eventually he came to the entrance of this tower, he knew that the Thorn resided here, hopefully he would not turn away a Black Robe. Knocking at the door with his staff, he collapsed into an unconscious heap.

Ayeka watched the black robe walk up to the tower entrance. she hesitated, but when she saw him collapse, she ran up to his side, Jenna loped along side her.

"Damn..." she whispered as she looked down at him. "well it looks like we'll be joining She'endra sooner than planned."

She'Endra! We have a problem down here...please alert the master of the tower that someone has collapsed on his doorstep.

Ayeka kneeled down and ran her hand down, and just above the mage's body...she frowned in concentration...the man's wounds where bad...but not mortal. He would survive if he could get to a healer soon.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

((OOC: Er…I’m a little late, so I’m going to back things up a bit.))

Um… Kiri thought nervously back to Ayeka. I think everything is going fine…

The source of her worry was Nîm, who had, on being invited to dinner, swooped down on the Lady of the Tower, kissing her hand gracefully and telling her, without blinking, just how nice it was of her to invite them and how he had never had lasagna before. The mage shook her head wearily and added to her She’Endra, Why do I get the feeling that Nîm is going to get us thrown out of the Tower? Her Blood Sister laughed.

A moment later they were being escorted down to the dinning room by The Thorn and Cai’de who were arm-in-arm. Kiri tried to think of what she was going to say…

“How lovely, how lovely…” Nîm muttered, darting around the dinning room, studying every nuisance before he finally sat down.

Kiri ignored him and took to her seat, facing the Thorn and his wife. She cleared her throat and started… “Greetings, Master of the Tower…I am the current leader of the Order of the Vanished Moons…you met the last one, an elven woman named Majie many years ago and briefly, but since then there has been no communication between my branch of the Order and yours…we had intended to be a secret society but circumstances have made that impossible…”

Nîm chose that moment and laugh and nudge his sister. “You’re boring him Kiri…”

Kiri ignored him and kept going. “I have come here in the hopes of opening an dialogue and perhaps a trade of information. You may not be aware of the tragedy that has plagued my people…”

Nîm interrupted. “What my sis is trying to say is, you have a sword that belonged to Majie and books that the apprentices would like to read. We hope that you will be willing to part with or negotiate...”

The human yelped then, as Kiri kicked him hard under the table. She opened her mouth to apologize, but the only sound that came out was a choked gasp. Nîm looked strangely at his sister, and placed a hand on hers, effectively hearing the words that were playing through her mind. Before she could say anything, he took off running.

The others at the table looked stunned and Kiri stood, motioning quickly and urgently for them to follow, repeating Ayeka’s message in hurried tones.

Nîm arrived on the front steps in seconds and knelt besides the black robe. He placed his hands on the man’s head and a slight green tint glowed from beneath. The silver robe stiffened with new pain and looked at his sister’s friend with glowing eyes.

“I’m not a healer,” he told her curtly. She blinked in confusion and he exploded. “I’m not a healer, go get one!”

(ooc Darkmaster your welcome to join in on the fun.)
Pyranthas sits at the table and listens to Kiri and becomes quite interested.

"Now please tell me about this tragedy that is plaguing you. Perhaps I can be of some service. If I can be of some service to you Kiri, than maybe you and Nim can possibly help me out, but I will talk about that when you are finished," the Templar says as he then sees Nim run off. He senses something is wrong outside, like someone was in need at that moment.

"Please excuse me friends, I'll be right back I sense someones distress just on your front porch," he says just as he disappears into thin air.

The Templar transports himself to the doorstep just outside of Thorn's home. He sees Nim and then kneels to look over the black robes wounds.
"Nim please step back, I need room," he says and then looks directly into the black robes eyes and speaks, "I normally do not assist one of the dark robes, but you are weak and wounded and it is the oath of the Templar race to protect those who are wounded and weak. I also sense from your thoughts that you are here on business," Py says as he lays his hands on the wound. He closes his eyes and begins to channel energy into his hand so that the wound could heal. His hand grows warm as his energy flows from his hands and into the wound. Within a few moments, the wound was healed and all trace of the wound was completely gone.

Pyranthas stands and gives the black robe his hand.

"Nim, tell Thorn we have a guest," he says looking at Nim and then looks down at the mage. "Come on now, get up. Your wound is fully healed. Lets get you inside and get some food into you. You need to regain some of your energy and there we will talk about your business."

He thanked the man and accepted his help up, they then walked inside the silver tower and came to a dining room, wondefully furished and eloquent. Sitting down he rested a moment. Kiri-koli watched Py disappear and was sure whatever trouble lay outside was being taken care of. Though his magic did not include direct healing, Nîm had lived in the wild long enough to develope ways of "freezing" an injured person so that their situation could not become any worse. And perhaps Py had healing techniques...he had seemed sincerely concerned when he had asked about her problems at home...

Nîm stepped away reluctantly when Py told him to. As soon as his fingers left the black robe's forehead, the mage groaned as his injuries once again started shocking his system. But Py was a competent healer and moments later the black robe was walking with them back to the dinning room...

Kiri, Cai'de, and the Thorn hadn't left, though they looked concerned. Only the Thorn had gone back to eating and he commented on the second interruption with a sour tone. Nîm laughed and sat down, and waving his fork said, "What? Can't you eat and listen at the same time?" He grinned and started digging into his food, glancing every so often at the dark mage with those eerie green eyes.

Kiri-koli didn't sit down. Looking rather relieved at the interruption of her quest, she moved off and hugged Ayeka hello.

"Nice group you got here," she murmured to her She'Endra and eyeing Py, wondering when they could continue the conversation he had started. She would much rather talk about that than continue to demand things of the Thorn...she now felt very selfish...blushing she asked, "Have you seen, heard from Jeno lately?" She was worried about him too and how things were going in the Valley without her...

Nîm continued to stuff his face as if he hadn't eaten in a year--pausing to compliment Cai'de's cooking every few seconds--while his sister stayed near Ayeka, going wherever the half-vampire went. Both mages were listening carefully, however, waiting to see what the dark mage would say...Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching on magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Kiri-koli gave a wounded sigh. "You know, I'm not sure. I came here and was introduced to the Thorn and his wife offered us dinner and you know Nîm--can never refuse a meal," she laughed. "I mentioned my request and of course, Nîm screwed it up and then you called. So now I guess we just have to wait and see what that mage has to say...Oh and Py asked me about the troubles I mentioned about the Valley...offered to help me, said he could use something in return. Pyranthas
04/05/2002 9:07 PM

Pyranthas finally sits back down and eats. He scans the room listening to all of the different conversations. Finally he stood up and looks at Kiri and begins to speak.

"I know you are anxious about what I hinted to earlier Kiri, so I will state it now. Thorn, this is going to be another history lesson and i think you have heard this, but maybe you haven't heard everything yet, so you might want to get your book to start recording everything I say," Pyranthas pauses for a brief moment and then starts speaking again.

"Thousands of years ago, E'li decided to create life. He was the first of Takhisis and Galean to create life. The race he made was not the Elves or Dragons, but the Templar. The Templar were created to be protectors of Krynn. The other gods did not know about them, not until later when the other races were created. After the Templar, the Dragons were born. The Dragons were to be the allies of the Templar, until Takhisis corrupted the original dragons. Paladine created the Metallic Dragons, and sooner or later, there was the First Dragon War after of course the Ogres, Elves and Humans were created..

"The Templar had nothing to do with the war. They stayed isolated on their island, learning how to use their abilities, the power of the mind and body. They study magic, but summoned energy from their own bodies and surroundings. They could open portals to other dimensions, heal the wounded, communicate by using telepathy, control the weather and the elements, control the minds of others, release energy blasts powerful enough to distroy the greatest wyrms of old. They all had one weapon which they mastered and were completely deadly with with them, being the ultiamte warriors.

"They were extremely agile and had the strength equal to the strongest of Ogres. They were lean like elves, and even had their likeness in their faces, eye and ears. Their eyes were always the colors of gems. Most of them were very tall and ranged from around six feet to eight or nine feet in height.

"They start out in the forms of Elves until they reach a certain age. At that certain age, the become Arch-Templar. Their eyes turn silver and grow white feathery wings. They become taller and they have an increase of muscle mass. They change again when they reach a certain age and level of power. This change, they grow short horns and their skin indigo and their eyes back to their orginal color. This stage is know as the Primarch Templar. They become taller and they have an increase of muscle mass. This is the stage that most of the Templar reached, but there was one after that. It is know as the True Templar and there was only one. His name was Paladinius. His skin was pure white. He was as tall as a minotaur, and had a white monkey like tail... like mine. The horns disappear and their muscle mass doubles and are no longer quite as slender as elves, but has the physical build of a human, but their agility is far superior.

"I know your thinking this has nothing to do with anything I started to talking about, but I wanted you to just to understand who the templar were.

"Anyways, Takhisis finally found them. She corrupted a few of them and they changed. They wanted to use their power to enslave humanity. They became the Dark Templar. Over time, they changed and became deamons. There was a great war between the Templar and the Tanar'ri. The Templar managed to get the Tanar'ri in the Abyss and several other planes and there they fought. The battle lasted for hundreds of years until around around the time Huma banished Takhisis in the Abyss, the Templar defeated the Tanar'ri and traped them in the Abyss.

"I will stop here, because everything else that has happened in their life means nothing to this story and has to do with my past. Anyways I was once the one known as Paladinius, but I have been reborn who I am.

"Now, the whole reason for this lengthy history lesson is this, I beleive I ran into two Tanar'ri here on Krynn. I fear that they are planning to invade Krynn and I want to go to the Abyss to spy on them. There is much danger in this quest, and if you choose not to help me, that is fine and I will still help you Kiri. Now, tell me about your trouble."

Dark_Master

Koshani heard the name Tanar'ri and jumped out of his seat. "That name, he had mentioned it!" The others assembled stared at him, he must have looked somewhat crazy. "Forgive me." He composed himself and sat down again. "What i meant to say was that i have heard that name before, the mage i stumbled across spoke to one of them i think...he is helping them....that was my news...although i had forgotten about it for a while there."

The dark mage was still exhausted. he had to force the words out. "I am Koshani...War Magus...i had came across a mage of my order conversing with an unknown creature, he referred to him as a Tanar'ri. He is planning on aiding them in some way, i know not what it is... i missed that part. However i was discovered and he sent these things after me, they were incredibly powerful and strong. Ayeka looked to her She'Endra and gave her a reasuring look. "well...and I thought I Had problems." she smirked, her violet-blue eyes taking on a very slight Golden cast.

"Believe me Master Templar...If Kiri Cannot help you in your fight...You can rest assure that I will...She is my Blood Sister...and what She cannot do, I will do for her. I owe her my life..." She said, standing. Her eyes closed and the golden cast was gone...but there was still something about her that put nearly everyone ill at ease. "Just tell me what you want me to do."

Elsewhere...far to the north of the Silver Tower...Glimmer stirred. She felt the stirrings of something dark...Evil beyond compare in this land. She stood, stretched and walked to the edge of her lair. She felt unease and fear to her south. Cia'de...is everything okay?? she sent...not knowing if her friend could even call back to her...

If you can hear me...and If you think that i could be of some help...Use the Whistle that I gave you!! I will be there within two hours if you do! she sent again, her tail twitching in aggitation.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

Cai'de was munching thoughtfully on a forkful of Lasagna as Pyranthas explaine dthe situation. This could be it. She thought, looking at Thorn, This could be the adventure we do not return from. But do we not go? She, of course, already knew the answer. She and Thorn were to attached to the world to stand by and let anything happen.

Kalia's voice suddenly rang through her head, and then, Cai'de got an idea.

"I'll be back in a moment." She said, suddenly standing and leaving the room. She went to the bedroom and immediatly sought out the crystal whistle from Kalia and called on it."Faithless is he who says farewell when the road darkens." -- Gimli, The Fellowship Of The Ring

Glimmer's head snapped up as the Clear Crystal Tones of the Whistle reached her. I am coming!! She sent. Without hesitation, she lept from her high cliff lair, and banked sharply to the south. She flew hard, knowing that at her top speed it would take her two hours to reach her friends.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

The Thorn finished his meal and sat back. "Well, now that we've heard Py out, Kiri, what do you have to say? We can take care of the larger threat or perhaps split into two groups to tackle these problems but I would like to hear everything first.""Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?"

Kiri-koli blushed and poked Ayeka in the ribs for thinking she would walk away from this. She had been stunned into silence by Py's explanation and now by the look of mirth in her brother's eyes. Nîm was trying very hard not to laugh and barely succeeding...

The human blushed again and looked at Pyanthas. "I'm afraid you misheard me...or I mispoke...my people have had many troubles but the hardest ones--the ones that almost defeated us...they are in the past. Perhaps sometime I can tell you about them...it is definatly an interesting story! But for now, all I need...all I wanted was to reconnect with the original order and gain some advantages for my students..."

She thought of Majie's sword and blinked back a wandering tear. She decided not to mention it and looked from Thorn back to Py. "I will be happy to join your quest and prevent this invasion...I can almost pledge the help of another...if I can find him." she smiled sadly, wondering where Jeno was right now...

Suddenly she jumped. Nîm had poked her in the ribs. He looked at her with those wild green eyes and twirled his chain weapon around his finger. Pyranthas smiles.

"Well, first thing that I need to do is open a portal to the Abyss. I can do that myself, it won't be much of a problem. Koshani, thank you for your information, and I am very sorry you had to face them. They are very powerful and are not to be taken lightly when fighting. They mage you talked about, I wonder if it is the same one I saw. If it is, I beleive that he two may be a Tanar'ri. I sensed the same type of energy from him and the other. Anyways, I am ready to head out as soon as everyone is ready. I will be in the library meditating. I need to be at my full strength and power just to open the portal," and with that the Templar leaves the room and heads back to the library to begin his meditation.

Glimmer was startled to notice the Tower just below her...Surely she hadn't flown this far so soon! Thorn or Cia'de must've had something to do with it. Quickly she spiraled down, landing on the top spire, an addition Thorn did for her when she studied here.

The moment all four feet touched stone, She shifted form. Kalia didn't bother to smooth her silver robes, and continued towards the main hall. She reached there and saw Thorn, Cia'de and Pyranthas. as well as three other people she didn't know. She looked at the Young woman with the Dark hair and Green eyes, the man who stood slightly behind her...Did a double take at the Blonde Woman with the Odd eyes, and bowed formaly.

"Forgive my intrusion...." She said softly, her silver hair covering her expression. She straightened and looked over at Cia'de, her Gold eyes wide. "I came as soon as I heard your call Cia'de...What can I do to help?" she asked softly.

Ayeka watched the woman dressed in silver robes just like The Thorn rush into the room. Ayeka marveled over the beauty of her silver hair, and golden eyes. She also didn't miss the woman's double take and look of surprise as she looked at her.

"I wonder..."she muttered softly to herself as the woman began to talk with Cia'de...Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

Koshani watched the Templar leave the room, They are going into the Abyss...my they are courageous, they have to be otherwist they are simply mad. How will they survive in there, daemons and wraiths haunt that place, not to mention the undead mages and clerics, filling the ranks of my Queens dread army....emm....perhaps they can serve me in my own pursuits.

"Might i be so bold as to offer my aid on this little expedition, as you may be well aware of, Magic, except dark magic or magic in the servitude of my Queen, is rather weakend upon entering the Abyss. Therefore i can be a valuable asset to this cause, should any trouble arise whilst we are in there...you do not have to question my motives, this will bring me no personel gain, except the knowledge that no force capable of threatning the balance of magic will enter this plane."

He looked around to see the reactions and comments of those sitting at the table.'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

"But I don't use magic. I use the energy inside and around me to defeat my enemies and accomplish tasks, plus I am a Grandmaster with the Longsword," Pyranthas yells as he reaches the library and then sits on the floor to begin his meditation.

The Templar sits down and closes his eyes. He lets his mind wander an becomes relaxed. He begins to levitate from the ground as he quiets his mind, letting his mind rest for the first time since he had discovered the recent events. As he acheives complete relaxation, he leaves his body and his spirit enters the room with the others, undetectable to anyone in the room, and listens.

((OOC: Wow, I leave for 3 days and this is all that happens? What the--? :)))

Kiri-koli suddenly shifted her weight and became very nervous. The mage's slender fingers twitched and her emerald eyes glanced from side to side. Nîm sighed. He wished his sister would lighten up a bit. Both their lives had been hard in different ways...and why she had turned out so worried while he was so carefree, he did not know...

Probably because she took the ashes and started building again while I fled to the woods... he mused in an unusual moment of deep thought. A moment later it was gone and he was grabbing her arm and dragging her towards the new woman who had arrived.

"But..." Kiri stuttered, her eyes dazed. "I have to talk to Jithal and Myla…and Pan, I have to talk to Pan, and get my stuff and find Jeno and my…”

Nîm cut her off. “Jithalas and Myla are fine! They can run the Valley for a while. It’s good practice. Besides, you told the apprentices that they could have some time to pursue independent studies. You have your bow and your Dust, you need nothing else. You’re not going to disturb Pan because if you tell him what we’re doing here—and you will—he’ll insist on coming and that wouldn’t be fair to Pyllo.” The human paused to let that sink in. The last thing Kiri wanted to do, he knew, was take Pan from his new son.

“And I’m sure Jeno will turn up somewhere,” Nîm finally added cheerfully before he planted his sister firmly in front of the newcomer. “Hi!” he beamed at the beautiful woman, his smile reaching those eerie green eyes.

Kalia smiled at the young woman and the man with her. "forgive me...My name is Kalia...Kalia Majere...Or better known to most humans as Glimmer." she said smiling warmly. Her smile faltered as her golden eyes rested on the Woman with the Golden hair and Blue-Violet eyes.

"Might I inquire as to your names?" She asked softly.

Ayeka smiled wryly and extended her hand. "My name is Ayeka Drache-Crane." She said, her eyes never leaving the woman. Kalia hesitated and then took Ayeka's hand...And let go immediately, holding her hand as if it had been burned.

"Pleasure's...all mine...I'm sure...." Kalia murmered, her expression wary.

Ayeka smiled, but there was something coldly pleased about the expression.

((OCC: I don't get it. Why are Kalia and Ayeka in conflict?))

Kiri-koli frowned slightly at her She'Endra. What's that all about? she thought to Ayeka, more curious than worried.

Nîm-Jolin, on the other hand, didn't seem to notice anything. Stepping forward, he grasped Kalia's hand and kissed it lightly, that quirky smile never leaving his face.

"I am Nîm-Jolin and this is my fretful sister, Kiri-koli." Leaning closer to the woman with those blue-violet eyes as if sharing a secret, he whispered, "She's got responsibilities."

Kiri shot daggers at her brother with her eyes and Nîm whisked to his sister's side. The resemblense between them was remarkable, pushing aside the fact that she looked as serious as he was silly. "You've changed sis," Nîm said loudly. He paused and then whispered just as loudly, "Whaddya think? Silver or gold?"

Kiri shook her head in dismay and smacked her brother. "A pleasure to meet you," she said to Kalia, with a small bow. 04/11/2002 5:42 PM

Pyranthas stops meditating after ten or so minutes, not really knowing why. He stands up and places his massive sword on his back as throws on his sword belt with his two other long sword, as well as his cloak and then heads back.

"It's good to see you again Kalia," Pyranthas says as he spots his friend and bows, and then looks at the whole room and says, "For those who wish to join me on this quest, remember you may not survive this, so those who wish to not come with me, please speak now. For those who wish to, let me know of any gear you may need so I may get it before we leave, because where we are going, there is no shops, and the creatures are very dangerous. If things turn for the worst, I will open a portal and you must leave, and I shall to defend your passage out of the Abyss. One of you must warn Krynn if there is to be an invasion at that point. I will give you instructs of how to do it if the time comes. Now does anyone wish to not go on this quest?"

starlite4774
04/12/2002 2:56 PM

Nîm-Jolin bounced around the room, though he was unusually quiet. He eyed his sister. She was sitting near Ayeka, her slender body tense, her knuckles white in her lap. She was worried, though her concerned had nothing to do with the dangers Pyranthas had just spoke of. She was worried about the Valley and the apprentices and Jeno and Pan and...pretty much everyone but herself.

She's probably even worried about me, he thought sadly. Kiri was courageous...he had known that the second he had set eyes on her after believing her lost for so long. Courageous, strong...he had, however, also known in that moment that she didn't remember. He hadn't been surprised. She had been too young to remember, even as he would never forget...

Their father stood tall and tense, watching the road from which they had just come, his black eyes glittering as the cold steel he held in one slender hand. Their mother stood by his side, just as tall, her emerald eyes shooting daggers into the darkness, a wide-eyed child held in one hand, Dust in the other.

He stood just behind them. His parents wouldn't allow him to wiggle through and look into the distance. He had stopped argueing when his mother had given him such a frightened look, her green eye writhing with fearful fire...

He now played with the dirt between his toes. They were far from the road and the tall trees provided much needed shade. He didn't realize at that moment that he would forever remember the exact color of the bark, the wailing sounds of the wind... the murmured voices...

Suddenly his mother was beside him. The young girl in her arms wiggled and let out a small coo. His mother smiled then, and that smile shocked him more than anything else, more then the running, the screams...she was saying good-bye, he realized and in that moment he was older than anyone ever should be.

That smile still in place, his mother set his sister down and placed her small hand in his. Her voice was no more than a whisper against his cheek. "Nîm, I want you to run...run and don't stop no matter what you hear." She looked up then and spoke with more urgency. "And I want you to hold your sister's hand, never let it go. You're all she has now...promise me you won't let go. Promise me."

The boy blinked back tears and promised his mother he would never let go in a clear, even voice. She touseled his hair and said that she would always love him and then he was running and she was screaming and he was running...

Nîm blinked and looked at Py. He knew Kiri would never listen if he tried to convince her to go back to the Valley...but he had to do something. He had made a promise...to protect her even if he couldn't be by her side...

This about warning others intriqued him. It would take whoever did it away from the front lines...far, far away. He stared at Py and wondered if the Templar could hear his unspoken wish. He hoped he could, hoped with a passion that he could...Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching on magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Pyranthas hears Nim's unspoken wish and he smiles.

Nim, I hear all around me. I will not let Kiri fall. She shall be protected by myself at all times when we are in the Abyss. I know she is all you have right now, and I shall protect her with all my ability.

Pyranthas pulls a necklace with a small emerald and a small emerald gem stone. He walks over to Nim and hands the amulet to him as he looks deeply into his eyes sending his thoughts to him.

This amulet shall protect her. It is a Templar Artifact called the Amulet of Recall. It is linked with a small emerald that I shall place in this room. The amulet's wearer can then say a command word, and the wearer is then transported to the location of the emerald. I will tell her the command word when the time is right and I will tell you the word if we are not together as a group, the same way I am communicating with you now. Not to fear, she shall be fine.

Pyranthas then turns and walks towards the library, murmering something in the unknown language of the Templar.

Kalia_Majere
04/12/2002 7:01 PM

Kalia smiled and hugged Cia'de. her gold eyes flicking warily at the woman. Ayeka in turn stared back openly...her dark eyes daring Kalia to challenge her.

Kalia hesitated to follow Cia'de...and stared back just as openly at the woman. Finally she turned back, and stood directly in front of Ayeka. The two women seemed exact opposites...Kalia with her silver hair and golden eyes, seemed the perfect embodiment of Moonlit serenity...Ayeka, her Long Golden hair, and her deep Blue/Violet eyes seemed the embodiment of darkening twilight...dark into a moonless night of Shadows. They stood face to face...their height equal...and both had power at nearly inexhaustable sources.

"I want to know why you are here....Shinma" Kalia said, her voice soft, but the harness shone in her eyes. Kalia's senses where correct as she watched the Shinma Flinch at the word.

Ayeka did flinch...but her dark eyes stayed locked on Kalia's. "Shinma? ah...I see...Draconic for Vampire? am I right ...Drache Dragon! My last name is your true identity madam...I don't care that you know who I am...But you..you hide within a human body...I don't know which is more pitiful."

Kalia glared at Ayeka. "I don't know...At least my existince isn't cursed to take innocent life..." she snarled, and turned away...walking towards Thorn and Cia'de.

Ayeka stumbled as if Slapped. "I never...." she faltered...cause no mater what she said, it would be a lie...she Had taken innocent blood....but that was when she had no choice....she...sh-

Ayeka straightened, tears shining in her eyes. "Fine...if that is the way that you all feel...I will not join you...but I tell you now...the only innocent blood that I have spilled in my past was to save my son...stolen from me in a tantrum of Spite and hatred...I had to do what I could....no doubt what you would do Dear Dragon..."

Kalia's head snapped up and She Glared at Ayeka....The brood...laying safe within her lair...the four perfect eggs...one Crystal clear, one Glimmering black...and two a shimmering silver-grey. "How dare you!" she hissed, her own eyes filling with tears.

"I wanted to save the world...." the Unicorn said, the light fading from her horn.

The Darkness smiled around her..."It is enough to save yourself..."

Pyranthas
04/12/2002 8:46 PM

Pyranthas returns from the library yet again to see Ayeka and Kalia in a verbal battle. He looks at Ayeka and then at Kalia.

"Ayeka, I try not to judge those I do not know. I know Kalia, and even though you do not quite understand why she hides in that form, I do. She hides because she is fearful for her life. She does not want to be slain by some dragon or warrior who is just looking for the fame and glory of killing a dragon.

"As I said, I do not know you. You are a Vampire yes? You are given immortality in exchange for your humanity, preying upon humanoids to satify your blood lust, your thirst, your way to continue on living. Why did you choose this way of life? I know what immortality is, for we the Templar are also immortal. Even though you are a "Vampire" you are welcome to join me on my quest. I believe I may have something for you so that you may control your cravings," The Templar says as he hands her an iron flask. "This flask contains blood. Do not ask me where I got it, and it is warm blood. It is yours to keep."

Pyranthas pauses for a second and then continues, "You said you killed the innocent once because you had no choice. You had to save your son. Please tell me about these people who placed your child in danger."

Kalia_Majere
04/12/2002 10:08 PM

OOC: I am gonna say that this is about five years after the start of Nightstalker pt2, fate of a child...that way Adrian is now about 11 years old.

Ayeka was stunned at Pyranthas's sudden inturruption and stared at the flask in her hand. She tried to say something, but for once in her life, she was dumbstruck.

"Forgive me...I...I didn't want this curse...I was Born with it...I am of a noble race of the Vampires...our people are born this way...we must feed only to survive...and usually I only take what I need from willing donors...no more..no less. I am only half Vampire...My mother was human...but that is a long story...best left to rest." She paused, slipping the flask into a pouch at her waist.

"I have two sons, Twins...Jadrek is the eldest, and Adrian is the second...Adrian is the spitten image of My Father...and even bears the same name. A Coridale...one who was bitten to attain his Immortality...considered by us Asuli Pure Bloods to be Cursed...He once tried to kill me under orders of my father...this same creature...This Vampire in the true sense of the word...Kidnapped my son...

"I know that he lives to this day...but each day, he is being pulled further and further from me...Five years have passed since he was taken. My Brother Touga Drache, my Mate, Alucardt Crane, and my Blood Sister here, Kiri-Koli, Have been searching for him. During the first few weeks, I was greatly Injured due to a battle between us and Humanoid wolf-like creatures who where trying to keep us from Adrian...I had to kill...or loose all hope of his, and my survival..."

Ayeka turned from him, Tears now standing freely in her eyes. She shuddered and crossed her arms across her chest. "I fear for him, for his sanity...and for mine...I did what I had to...I wasn't proud of it...and, the man that My Mate brought to me was a convicted murderer himself...the city jail would've dealt a much harsher fate that what I did to him." she trailed off, keeping her back to Kalia and Pyranthas...her twilight eyes locked on the fading sunset beyond the tower window.

Kalia's eyes registered the shock that she obviously felt...her mind went back to her lair, where her eggs where safely nestled...if someone where to have taken her eggs, or the young hatchlings...would she too act with such ferocity? Kalia nodded to herself once....Yes...she too would kill to protect her young. She stepped forward, stepping around Py without makeing a sound.

She rested her hand on Ayeka's shoulder. "Forgive Me for what I said...I..I was wrong...I shouldn't have said what I did...""I wanted to save the world...." the Unicorn said, the light fading from her horn.

The Darkness smiled around her..."It is enough to save yourself..."

04/12/2002 10:30 PM

Pyranthas places his hand on Ayeka and nods his head.

"Please come with us on this quest Ayeka," He says and looks at Kalia and smiles.

Pyranthas looks at the table and races his hand up. He makes a pushing motion with it and the table moves.

"We should probably get moving on. I don't want any invasion to happen now," he says and his arms fling out to his side and starts pulling in energy. His muscles tighten underneth his armor as his strength and energy increase.

((OOC: Damn! Wouldn't you know it, I thought of a reaction of Kiri after it was too late...*mutters darkly*))

Nîm hovered around the back of the room, anxiously waiting for the time to leave, his hands clutching the amulet that Py had given him. He had been here, indoors, for too long and it was starting to wear on him. He had been ignoring it for a while--successfully, oddly enough--but now he felt as if his skin was the only think keeping him from flying everywhere at once.

Kiri-koli had no such problems. She had forgotten her nervousness about leaving on this quest and "abandoning" the Valley, had forgotten Pan and even, perhaps Jeno...but then again perhaps not. Nîm frowned at her. The mage was standing just behind Ayeka, noticed by none but himself, her lips white, her hands clenched.

Ayeka started telling her story and Nîm only paid attention to half of it. He knew it already, had lived it through his sister. When Ayeka started crying, Kiri edged closer to her friend, giving silent support. Towards the end the new woman, Kalia, was in shock, and asked for Ayeka's forgiveness...

Nîm-Jolin wasn't sure if the half-vampire would forgive the dragon but one look at Kiri said plainly that one apology would not be enough for the mage. Even though the anger had not been directed at her, it had hit a nerve--a nerve he felt as well, though he was not one to act on such...

Kiri-koli saw nothing else in the room. She met Kalia's eyes and glared, her severe features speaking plainly to the other woman.

You may apologize now, but I will not forget this, even if Ayeka can. It is because of people like you with your petty predjuices that my parents died...

Distantly hearing Py say it was nearing time to go, Kiri followed Ayeka where ever she went, always standing just to the back and right of her She'Endra. She glanced at Kalia once or twice--each time with a glare--and on the last her emerald eyes flashed to a angry golden tint.

((OOC: For those of you who don't know, Kiri and Nîm's mother was a half-vampire. She was killed for it. Her children, however, have never exibited the signs (except for a short time in Kiri's life--The Hunt) because their magic supresses the genes.))Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms munching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Kalia Met Kiri's eyes and heard her message clearly. She nodded once in acknowledgement to Kiri's anger. Her Golden eyes calm again, her features serene once more. Mentally she wanted to slap herself. How could she have done this...Her duty in this world was more than to confront a single person, no matter what that person was...or who they where.

She turned to Ayeka and lowered her eyes in shame. Ayeka turned her eyes dry once again. She tried to reach out to Kalia...to show that she wasn't all that angry with her...when Kalia turned, Tears falling, and fled from the main room, fleeing back through the door that she had come.

Ayeka took a single step forward as if she planned to follow her, then changed her mind...figuring that they both had done enough damage for one day."I wanted to save the world...." the Unicorn said, the light fading from her horn.

Pyranthas stands and gathers his energy. He glows and then suddenly it appears as if the glowing has turned into fire. The room begins to shake. Outside the ground begins to crack and rocks and pebbles float upwards. Pyranthas concentrates on where he wants the portal to open to. Suddenly in a omniponent and powerful voice he says, "Portal to the Abyss I command you to open before me!"

In a flash, there is a swirling vortex of energy that takes place on the table of the dining room table. The vortex begins to take form, and becomes steady, and the Abyssal plane becomes visable.

Pyranthas lowers his power as low as he can and then is the first to enter the Abyss.

Nîm-Jolin appeared in front of the portal just as Py entered, glaring into the desolate Abyss with his startling green eyes as if challenging the realm of death. He felt elated and was eager to take that first step, to make the plunge...

Kiri-koli stood just to the right and back of her brother, peering over his shoulder. She was there for him, guided by him, and they protected each other with a bond that was astonishing in its sudden appearence...the female mage was pale but the same euphoric glimmer could be seen in her emerald orbs...she glanced back briefly for her She'Endra and then faced forward. Nîm grabbed his sister's hand and grinned wildly at her.

"J'mes, J'mes!" A man in a blue coat called to a man in brown leather. Someone has entered the abyss. I can't tell who or why, but we need to find out. Let's move." The man runs by J'mes, gathering supplies and looking frantic. J'mes sits at a desk, bewildered.

"Um, ok, um, now?"

"Yes Now! Let's go!"

"Alright, alright." J'mes gets up and calls to his dragon. *Sarumth, get ready to take off.*

*What is is?*

*We got trouble. Krynnthread.* He answerd to his dragon. (Krynnthread is their term for a krynnish emergency on the scale of threadfall.)

*And I had just found a nice rock, too. I'm getting up.* By this time, J'mes has gathered his few belongings and is getting the harness for Sarumth. Endy flys to him with a note that Timesplit is ready. After getting everybody on the dragon, Timesplit leans forward to talk to J'mes.

"We need to go the Thorn's tower at 10 minutes ago. Do you think you can do it?"

"No problem. Here we go."

The dragon, lizard, and two riders take off, and dispite the time it took them to prepare, they arrive at the tower just as the portal is opening in the dining room below them. Timesplit jumps off the still-landing dragon and runs down the stairs into the tower. He arrives at the dining room just in time to see Nim and Kiri step through the portal. "What's going on?" He asks.

Koshani stood and marveled at the portal. He looked inside and could see nothing but a dead land. But he could feel the power on the Abyss flowing and gathering around him.

He stepped forward and entered after the others. He could feel the energy building, pulling him forward. There was no hesitation about entering, without fear he did so.

Power surged through him...dark power....evil power. He could feel his Queen on the other side, did she know they where coming?'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

Well, I had wanted to redecorate this room anyway. Cai'de thought as the portal opened on the table. She watched Pyranthas, Nim and Kiri, and Koshani, then looked at Thorn and took his hand. A second later, a large weight landed on her shoulder and she turned slightly to see the large eyes mirroring her face, set within a black sea of fur.

"Mreow?"

"Yes, Toss, you can come too!" Cai'de said, scratching the cat's ears. She looked through the portal.

Such a wasteland, such a dismal sight. . . accompanied with the idea that it may be the last thing we see . . . . She glanced at Thorn. but for him I would be afraid . . . She smiled ever so slightly, knowing the severity of the situation yet being comforted with her husband's presence beside her.

Ayeka stared at the portal, her twilight eyes wide. She scanned the dismal landscape...and smiled ironicly. she was about to walk through when she felt someone's hand on her shoulder.

Kalia smiled at Ayeka, and held out her hand. Ayeka stared at her for a moment then held out her own hand, their anger and unjustified hatred forgotten. Jenna Whined and licked Ayeka's free hand.

Kalia noted Ayeka uncertanty. "its always best to do it at a run if your afraid...I usually do..." She smiled. Ayeka nodded, and the two ran to the portal, and stopped dead once on the other side.

He smoothed out his battle torn robes and leaned heavily upon his staff.

He could see that Py was somewhat tense and heard him say that the Tanar'ri were near by. Kiri-koli and Nîm-Jolin moved off to the side, facing each other. Between the two of them they quickly created a Circle of Gold and Silver Dust on the barren floor. Whispered words and waving hands caused the chaotic Dust to form intricate runes and patterns.

Stepping back, Kiri watched her brother take control of the Circle. It rose up off the floor and burst into a million mirror images of itself. One by one they inflated, forcing powerful Spheres. Concentrating, Nîm flung the first Sphere at one of the Dark Templar. It struck his chest violently, wrapping him in a halo of writhing energy. The second Sphere finished the vile beast off.

Nîm smiled at his sister and started aiming the remaining Spheres at their enemies.

"Liqua Silver," Kiri muttered. A shining silver bow appeared instantly in her hands. Stepping to his side, she began to cover her brother, allowing him to use the deadly magic.

But the Dark Templar were too many. Nîm, concentrating on his magic, could not defend himself and Kiri-koli was hard pressed to cover all sides. There was nothing here to hide behind...to give any sort of strategic position...

"AHHH!" Nîm screamed and the magic faltered. His arm was sliced and an arrow found his attacker's eyes just a little too late.

They have horns, very sharp teeth. They have claws. They stand around 6-7 feet tall. Long orange hair. Red eyes and are very muscular. They weild wicked long swords.)

The last of Tanar'ri finally reaches them. Pyranthas feels the strength that Thorn gave me surge through him. He knew what his friend was going through. Even though Thorn may not have know it, Pyranthas and Thorn had a very close bond. Pyranthas could at times see what Thorn saw and feel what he felt. The pain the evil was causing Thorn, drove Pyranthas harder, making him every bit more deadly.

A Tanar'ri jumps at Pyranthas's back. Pyranthas swiftly spins around and holds up his left hand and holds it right in his face. He lets out a scream of anger and releases an energy blast which quickly incinerates his target. The other Tanar'ri see this and start to run off. The enraged Templar disappears and then reappears infront of them. His sword is away. He holds out his hands in front of him and sunddenly hundreds of small energy blasts shoots from his hands, decimating the remaining Dark Templar and the ground around them.

Once Pyranthas calms down, he transports back to his party.

"Sorry about that... I didn't mean to show off at all. Anyways, what you saw were just young warriors. The other Tanar'ri are much stronger, and they are much better with their weapons," Pyranthas says and then pauses. "We should probably get going to find that raiding party. Koshani stood alittle from the group, he found their company stifling at times. He looked out over the barren wasteland that was the Abyss, hearing the whispers of seduction and death that plagued this very realm of darkness. The Queen was aware of their presence, or his at least. One of her own, sneaking around the sands of decay and plunder. He could tell that she was not amused. However it was also clear that she had little idea of his intents, Nuitari was closest to his heart and soul, she could never replace his dark power, and aas such would find it difficult for him to yeild unto her, she knew that she was second to her Dark Son, when it came to the black mages.

Still, he looked. Transfixed and ever watchful. It was only Cai'De's voice that stirred him from his trance, he turned and waqlked over to them.

"A place to stay? How we find a place to stay in this barren land.", his voice grew soft but subtle, filled with an eery dread. The cleft was maybe three feet long, but only a couple inches wide. One side rose higher than the other, which is why they couldn't see it before. There was a cool draft issuing from it ....

OOC: Sure, it's nice to know that our existence make people pay more attention and value abandoned threads even more.

(OOC: Sorry! I thought everyone abandoned the thread so I abandoned ship. I havent been here in months. Lot of stuff has happened...)

Pyranthas shakes his head. The vision... could it be true? or could it only be a an alternate future. He had to know. He scans the horizan and closes his eyes, relaxes and feels himself slip out of his body. His Astral projection flies over the plains of the Abyss as he searches for some sort of shelter or cover. He sees nothing, nothing but plains. He remembers something about the Abyss from many years ago when he came here for another battle. He heads back to his body and he wakes up.

He points ahead to the right as he starts thinking about Qualinesti. On the horizan something amazing happens, it transforms into a forest. A dead and dark forest, but still a forest.

"There's cover lets get to it. We need to be on our guard friends. We are in the Abyss remember. The enemy is everywhere. This plane of existance will morph its terrain to how one thinks of it... it will be a twisted form, but it will transform."

(OOC: Welcome back. Let's see if we can get this moving again. Kalia, Starlite, you up for it?)

"Hmm. Maybe it would be better for you and Thorn to stay and guard the portal." Timesplit told Caide. "I'll go on with Pyranthas and the others."

Kalia_Majere

Kalia nodded, and followed Pyranthas. Ayeka frowned but followed anyway. She didn't like it, if this terrain would change with a thought, who was to say they were'nt playing into the enemy's hands?

Pyranthas
05/04/2003 1:40 AM

Pyranthas moves towards the forested area with his sword in hand. He lets him mind wander, searching for any enemies. He sences nothing.

"So what have you been up in over the years Kalia?" he asks.

Gait stood high in a tree of the Qualinesti forest. He looked over the forest for a ways then jumped down. Landed and pulled out his sword. "There is a disturbance here..." he said to himself. He ran off heading into the forest more and more. He stopped at a tree that stood taller than all trees. He looked up in awe and saw a shadow lurking at the top, stareing down at him.

Pyranthas starts thinking about his visions that he's been having. They've been coming to him more often it seemed. What could this mean he thinks. Am I doing the right thing? Am I dragging everyone to their doom? I am only trying to prevent what is to come aren't I? Whatever it is that I am doing, I'm getting worried and for the first time I'm second guessing myself. He closes his eyes and shakes his head trying to clear his head. No, he thinks to himself I am doing the right thing. I am doing this to protect Krynn.

Kalia looked over at the Templar, and feeling the tormoil that he seemed to radiate, she walked over to him... She remembered the first time she met him...years ago...

The ship that held ready to set sail... it was the first adventure she had embarked upon... only a month after she learned the truth on who she was... The demons that attacked the ship... the journey to solamnia with Jorgan and Katyr....

She smiled and reached her arms around Pyranthas's shoulders. "Don't doubt yourself, My friend... Be assured that I don't..."

Gait looked up staring at the man at the top, if it was a man. It looked creepy with the eyes of a demon. Gait looked directly into its eyes and was paralized. He couldnt move. Not even blink. It seemed that the shadow was looking deep into his soul, then streching it out and felt like his chest would burst open. Gait cried in pain. He was on his knees, holding his head from the suffering. He had sudden visions of a woman, a woman then a knight then a .... six headed dragon......

Pyranthas
05/06/2003 10:56 PM

Pyranthas looks at his friend and smiles. "Thank you," he whispers and looks back towards the wooded area. and then back at Kalia.

"I've been having these visions lately. They have been of death and distruction. In almost everyone I find myself against a Tanar'ri of equal power and skill. It takes place on Krynn, except it is not only Krynn, but it is the Abyss and Krynn melded together or so it seems. There is so much death all around me and it's hard to focus. Ultimately in the battle I loose. This vision I can't keep out of my head. I just don't know wiether or not to believe it to be a true vision or just a possibility of a future. I haven't had any other visions that I can not deny it to be false. I don't know what do do. I have never felt this weak before... wait there was one time where I felt absolutely helpless but I don't think I want to get into that right now."

"Whether they are true or not." Timesplit said. "The only way to be sure is to go to whatever's causing all this and find out. And even if they are equal to you, you'll have us as well."

(OOC: Timesplit is way more confident than he should be. Ah, how little he knows.)

OCC: Imay be rather new to these forums, and I dont post alot. The fact is I just look over threads, things like that, see there pretty good, and take pleasure in reading them. But, Is it just me, or is this some type of private thread, or does this keep alternating between characters. I dont mean to be negative, Im just wondering.

(OOC: In answer to your comment, no, it is not a private thread, but it does involve mostly members who have been on the forum a long time. There aren't really private threads, but it is generaly considered bad form to join a thread that's already going strong. There are exceptions to this, of course, but normally it's a good idea to join in on the first page of a thread or so. You might try Fernwood Village thread though. That one's designed for new people to hop in anytime.)

"It is good to have such good friends who believe in your abilities, even when you, yourself do not. I thank you my friends, you are a big help and I needed the moral support. It is not often that I look to others like this, but it is the one of the few times I have felt weak and helpless, regardless of my powers," he says as he hears something whisper to him. He reaches and his draws his mighty sword and spins it around a few times. He feels something stangely different about his sword. He continues to hear a whispering. He begins to sense its point of origin. It is his sword. He feels it channeling through him through his hands up his arms and through the rest of his body trying to communicate with him. It starts to give him a tingling sensation. He looks at his sword strangely.

"What the...," he says as he stops. As he stares at the blade, the sword begins to glow lightly and then it begins to glow brighter. The voice becomes clearer to him. It says Pyranthas... Pyranthas... there is light within the darkness ahead. Believe in yourself, believe in your friends, believe in your abilities, believe in your faith, and believe in me. I shall light the way for you when it is dark. You have unlocked my voice finally, after thousands of years of waiting, you have unlocked my voice and my abilities. I shall light the way for you, slay your enemies the Tanar'ri for you, give you strength when you need to fight harder, to put your enemies in darkness, heal you when you are near death, I shall show you those who are invisible to your eyes and let you know when evil is near along with removing the need to sleep from you so you can go longer warn you when magic is around. I shall help you cut your enemies down to size and make them fear you Pyranthas Bronzeblade. Remember, I am your light in the dark and the blade stops communicating with him, glowing brightly as darkness desends upon them.

"We better hurry, night is getting near," he says as he raises his sword to light the path ahead of them.

Kalia nodded and started after Pyranthas. A slender hand on her shoulder stopped her. She turned and gasped in surprise. A young woman stood there.

She was dressed oddly (In a short blue kimono with a silver oriental style dragon on the right side) The blue of the tunic lending color to the landscape around her. She had long black hair that hung to her waist in soft waves. Her almond shaped blue eyes where almost as brilliant as the tunic. She was barefoot and in her hand was a crystal staff.

Take care Crystalamira...you must survive this... or I cannot exist.... She said softly.

Kalia looked around, but the others where only looking at her, not the woman that stood before her.

They cannot see me or hear me.... Live... so that your children can live....so that I may one day exist. she said and was gone.

Kalia blinked as though she was released from some spell, and looked around. "What was that?"

Pyranthas
05/11/2003 2:01 PM

"What was what?" Pyranthas asks Kalia as he looks deep into her eyes, reading her thoughts. He looks at her puzzled and says "I didn't see anyone my dear friend. It's possible that the Abyss is playing with your mind. I has the tendancy to do things like that? It could have also been an omen. What ever it was, do not worry Kalia, I will not let you fall. I would rather have my life ended to protect you than to have you be killed. I would do that for all my friends."

Gait ran from the tree where the shadow lurked. He ran from it with all the stregth he had left in him. He went until he tripped on a stone. He landed on the ground, knocking the breath out of him.

He pushed himself up and saw the shadow ahead of him. Only this time, it wasnt the same one, it was a cloaked man, holding a staff. This is a nightmare, he thought.
He pushed himself off the ground and made his way through another part of the forest. Then the forest started to speed right by him so fast he became dizzy. He came to his senses as he saw people in front of him standing about 50 yards away.

Meanwhile ....

Cai'de's eyes opened, still feeling heavy with the weight of their surroundings. Toss was anxiously licking Cai'de's face, and as soon as the human struggled to sit up the winged cat ran in a little circle, mewing.

Cai'de cradled her pounding head in her hand, sleep and opression muddying her thoughts. She was here ... Toss was here .... She knew the others were out and that she and Thorn had been charged with watching the portal. That must be where he was now.

A stretch and a yawn later, Cai'de looked down at Toss, who was still mewing desperately.

He's hungry. Cai'de thought. Her own stomach growled with empathy. I have no food. Maybe Thorn did, or perhaps he knew where to find some. Ultimately, she should relieve him of his shift, as she had no idea how long she had been out.

She stood and left the cleft, Toss flying to catch up and settling on her shoulder. Outside of the cleft cave, Cai'de could barely make out a dark shape on the horizon. Funny, that wasn't there before .... She thought. She looked at Toss and shrugged, which caused him to growl, and then turned back to the portal to find Thorn.

But Thorn wasn't there.

The portal hung like a mirage, quiet and unmoving. There was nothing on the ground, nothing on the horizon except to her back, where her friends had departed earlier.

Thorn was gone.

At first, all Cai'de felt was a numbness, and then every part of her became a great weight of dread. She ran to the portal, Toss lifting off her shoulder in surprise.

"Thorn!" Cai'de called, looking around, at, and behind the portal. "Thorn!" Her heart raced, her hands shook, she couldn't think, "THORN!"

He wasn't there ...

She looked out about her, about the nothingness, absolute nothingness, no remains, no sign of a fight, no sign of anything.

He wasn't anywhere ...

Cai'de fell to her knees, shaking, feeling the need to cry but at the moment being too overwhelmed to do so.

Where was her husband?

((OOC: I'm baaaaaack!!! ::fanfare:: I have no friggen clue what's happened to The Thorn, so if he does return I'll let him decide Thorn's fate. As for me, I know exactly where I'm taking this, so you guys just continue what you've been doing and Cai'de will eventuall meet up!))

Cai'de' didn't know how long she'd been there, kneeling on the ground with no thoughts but dread, fear, and a deep sadness since her awful discovery. Toss was curled up by her side, sleeping lightly.

Cai'de siged and looked at the cat, which had been a wedding gift. Her thoughts drifted back to that day, seemingly lifetimes ago. She remembered her dress, the ceremony, her friends ... and Thorn. A burst of new pain opened within her, and she cried for the first time over this devastating loss. Wracking sobs wrought her thin frame and threatened to break her altogether. Toss sat up and looked at her, and then butted his head into her elbow, mewing. Cai'de wrapped him into her arms and he consoled her, licking her on the cheek as if that would wash away their troubles, but he sensed many things, and knew their troubles were just starting.

A large shadow passed over them, and Cai'de took deep breaths and stopped her crying. Toss's fur stood on end, and a low, hardy growl eminated from his small body.

Cai'de looked up, and felt all hope extinguished.

((haha!!!! More later!!!! ::runs away, giggling::))
