(OOC: I figured I would do a new thread. Unless someone posts something, I am considering "Magnificent Seven" dead. Well, time to begin. Read what I have got so far and tell me what you think. I need at least one character to play the 'chosen' one.)

A man in robes so blue as to be black, sat at a window in a small study. His ancient face roved over charts of stars. The candle flickered, but the moonlight of Luntari and Solinari drifted into the cold room making up the difference.

He turned his head to the sky took a long hard look. A timid knock sounded at his door. "Come in." He said not moving his head.

In came a young boy dressed in robes of dark green. "Master Tals, it's getting late." When the man didn't respond, the boy tapped him on the shoulder.

"Look at the sky Juras and tell me what you see. Tell me what is different about the sky this night." The voice was soft and gentle, but yet a firm command.

Moving toward the window, the boy scrutinized the sky for a while. "Well, the Demon Dragon is ascending, and...and the ..." Juras had the look of someone just struck with terrible news.

"Yes, the moons are aligning. A thousand years have passed. Soon, the night of the purple sky shall come again." The old man had the look of someone very tired.

"Master, does this mean what I think it does?"

"Yes. The Lady shall rise again. In a month's time. "

*Meanwhile faraway*

A dark figure, stood and looked at the sky. He wore the armor of a Knight. Next to him was a proud, black stallion. At a distance he appeared to be a normal knight, but up close it was plain that something was wrong.

His armor looked ancient and melted in such a way that the designs were distorted. His cape was old and tattered. The horse had hooves and eyes of fire.

"So, it has finally come to pass again. The choosen of the gods shall walk upon this world again, and 'bless' it with 'peace'. Well, I will have to make sure that it never comes to pass."

OOC: ooohhh...actually this would be perfect as a good turning point for my character...kalia...or actually Crystalamira...the true Daughter of Paladine...Her destiny was always to "help Krynn in it's darkest Hour" Let me know...Please...this could really be a turning point for her.

BIC: GLimmer turned her head towards the setting sun, She shifted uneasliy and Turned her eyes to the eastern sky. Something setted funny in her chest...like she was supposed to be doing something...something she had forgotten.

Absently, she traced the symbol of Paladine that was etched on her center scale...Her mind raced as something flitted into her mind...something about a purple sky.....Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

Kayito walked the alley ways of Palanthas, his purple robes whispering upon the ground and soaking up water when stepping in any puddles, formed by the drops of water falling from rooftops.

He wished to remain unseen, particulary from any Conclave Wizards. Kayito was a Mage of the Dark Eye, he manipulated the forces of dark and shadow, bending them to his will. He was searching forsomeone...a someone he knew nothing of, not even their name, only that he would know who it was when he rested his gaze upon them.

There was very little chance of him being discovered at night, as his power was stronger during this time, and there were more shadows to hide in. During the day however, he had to be more secretive and only scout from the darker recesses of the city.'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

Glimmer banked and dropped down to land just outside of the city gates. "Palanthas...." she murmered, and shifted to her human form. Kalia strolled through the gates, without recieving a glance from the guards. Her long silver dress shimmered in the moonlight.

Kalia turned her gold eyes to the temple of Paladine. her long silver hair and shimmering silver robes made her look like an unearthly spectre. She reached the temple, its cool white walls soothed the tourmoil in her mind... She reached out and touched one of the cool stone walls. She sighed and rested her forhead on the marble.

Abuptly she turned, her eyes fixed on the shadows beyond. She stared for a moment...her eyes seemingly fixing on something, then her head tilted, as if she heard something that no one else could. Kalia turned back to the temple, and walked inside.

Inside, her knelt at the altar. Before her was a shimmering statue of the Platinum dragon...Paladine.

"Mighty Paladine...Platinum Father....Guide your daughter...show me what I am to do......." She murmered... To any spectator...the light in the temple seemed to dim, then center around the woman. She seemed to become the source of the cool white light within the temple.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

Kayito froze....the woman dressed in silver had looked straight at him, he could feel power in that gaze. Something ancient and mighty. It was her, the someone he was meant to look for. He creeped out of the shadows and amde his way to the green lawn of the Temple grounds. He was unaware of how the God would treat his intrusion by stepping on his land.

Raising his foot, Kayito placed it on the grass.....pain surged through Kayito like molten lava, burning his very insides...but then it stopped. What..why did it stop? Taxed by the onslaught, he took a wary step forward, he braced himself for another attack, but none came, in fact he felt somewhat eased, relaxed. Choosing to ignore the issue for now, he made his way to the entrance which the woman had entered.

Walking througn the doorway, he came eventually to her, she was kneeling in front of a staue of Paladine. Am aura surrounded her...Kayito assumed that she must be in communion with her God... Is she a cleric? Kayito wondered, he decided to wait until she had finished, then speak with her.'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

((OOC: Okay, I'm in. Let me know if there is a problem with this Dark Master...))

I do not believe she is a cleric, Master.

Kayito turned slightly at the voice in his head. His apprentice stood near the doorway, as close to being outside as possible without actually being there. He hadn't heard the man enter--no one ever heard the whisper of those deep purple robes. The apprentice's dark eyes, twinged with red, looked from his master to the strange woman. Kayito turned back. Skalthan may be silent, but he still had much to learn...

Cade Looked up to the sky, oddly colored as it seemed to him, it was quite nice. "I wonder if whatever family I have is looking to this same sky." He said, beign a boy of the age of 16, he had no family to know of, only his weapon, outfit, and a traveling bag. He used a leather whip with 2 one inch long blades on the end, Cade had a leather pad on his shoulder and usually wraps it on his arm when he's not using it. He could carve a statue with it.

"Well, Sky or no sky there will be a tomorrow." Cade said, walking around, "And I'll need something to hunt." Cade had lived plains of dust for a long time, his ashen skin, and white hair not easily blending in to the sand. His eyes were black, a symbol of a drow, but his skin was lighter, which meant he had elven blood in him too, cast out from both breeds, he never had parents, and just kind of appeared one day in Qualinost, at the age of eight, never having a memory before then.

(OOC: So far, so good everyone. Yeah, Cade will will fit for this.)

A white dragon waited impatiently at the end of a forrest. Master Tals sat on its back.

"Juras hurry up! We have to get to Palanthas right away. And I think Grue is getting edgy." Tals said this last part with a smirk.

"Grue will show Tals what edgy is. And stupid Juras if he doesn't hurry up." The white was clearly in a bad mood.

The boy rushed up, carrying a large sack bursting with scrolls. Grabbing his master's hand, he mounted the dragon. Flapping it's great wings, the dragon took off.

"Master Tals, why Palanthas? Do you really think we will find what we are looking for there?" Juras's 12 year old face had a confused look to it.

"Just call it a hunch. Besides, if anything we will meet Frezan there and be able to plan our next move."

"Grue doesn't see why we have see stupid metallic!" The white was not amused.

"Grue is just jealous because said metallic is a lot smarter than him." Smirked Tals. The dragon just grunted and decided not to fight a losing battle.

Cade wandered near the northern plains of dust, carrying furs that he had gotten rescently from hunting, Palanthas had a wonderful fur tradeing system, and Cade could use some money, for a new leather strap to repair his whip, and also for some new clothes. "I might get there by... the end of two weeks, if I travel lightly." Cade said mapping out his traveling plan

Heading on the other side of Bloden, being by the sea and near mountains would provide good cover. Avoiding sanction becvause of the people who lived there, simply becuase he never liked the side of evil much. Then going through Solanthas and the High Clerists Tower to reach Palanthas.

Kalia turned, the soft, cool light fled, and the temple brightened again. Her sharp intake of breath Echoed through the temple. She noticed the dark purple robed man standing at the entrance of the temple.

Skalthan nodded once to his master and stepped into the light with some reluctance, blinking rapidly. It was obvious the brightness offended his sensitive eyes, so dark were they that only a bit of red light reflected off their deep sunken surfaces.

The apprentice said nothing to his master nor to the lady. His expression was eerily blank, as if no thoughts would pass through his mind before his master permitted them. His movements made no sound, even as the deep purple robes should have swished against the marble floor. He was unbelievably tall and thin, almost stretched. He carried no weapons as he had no use for them. A single black ring adorned one slender finger and a black amulet shaped as a sword hung around his neck. sitting in a Honda at lunch

By this time the white and his riders were about half way there.

"Tell me Master Tals, exactly who are we looking for?" Asked Juras.

"That is for me to know and you to find out."

Seeing the annoyed look on the boy's face, he merely shrugged.

"Don't worry I have my ways. After all I am a..." He all the sudden trailed off. His face had a look of sudden pain.

"Master!" Cried Juras.

I can sense him. Thought Tals.

Asharan, where are you? I know you're there.

So old friend, you're still around and still meddling. The voice was dead and hallow, yet at the same time full of emotion.

I was wondering when you would show up. But, this time you won't interfer. Tals replied sternly.

It shall be you who won't interfer. Well, while I do enjoy these little heart to hearts of ours, I have no time to waste. With that the presence was gone.

Tals slumped back, exhausted. Sensing Grue and Juras's worry, He said, "It was nothing. I just got distracted."

Even though both didn't believe him, they knew better than to question him further.

Why do I have to fight him? Why does history always repeat itself?"There is no greater joy than to be reborn with every heartbeat." Belldandy.

He took a larger step forward and grabbed her by the arm "Please, i must know who you are, there is an aura which surrounds you that is immensly powerful, i need to know your name...now!"'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

She closed her eyes. when she opened them again, her perspective changed...and she saw the shock on Kayito's face as she, Crystalamira stood before him...the light of Solinari shimmering on her crystal scales.

"To my own kind...I am known as Crystalamira....to mortals..I am known as Glimmer." She spoke softly, her large golden eyes locked onto Kayito's. Her huge opalescant white, feathered wings where folded against her back...the only relief to the shimmering crystal scales. They bothering you? Cade said to Glimmer while running across the plains after a boar.

Which one of us was it that this sky was in dangerous relation to again? Nah I don't want to know, but I'll be there later, keep you're wings tied down till then alright? Cade asked mentally. Glimmer had been his only family, linked with him for some strange reason.

As The boar fell, dead, he simply skinned it, and cooked the meat. Then after a hasteily done meal he got up and began running again, this time, out of the plains toward Palanthas, or the route he planned on taking was the closest to it he could pull.

Skalthan watched his master fall to his knees, groveling before the crystal dragon, crying about how his life suddenly had meaning. The apprentice allowed none of his thoughts on the subject to surface, except perhaps for a slight narrowing of his dark eyes.

He didn't bow, didn't grovel. He was prepared to show this woman all the respect his master seemed to think she deserved...but wallowing in the dirt was not--in his opinion--the best way to go about such things.

Finally Kayito turned and motioned for them to leave the temple. He wasn't sure if it was his imagination or what, but Skalthan was begining to think the soles of his feet were burning...punishment? Still he made no movement, though he felt as if he could flee--not a feeling he was used to--as he waited for his Master and the woman to leave before him. Slipping back into shadow, he followed, content to watch and listen till called...sitting in a Honda at lunch

(OOC: Skalthon is a bit sinister...cool beans! The plot thickens.)

The white dragon had finally landed outside the city limits as fars as it could from human contact.

"Well, now all we have to do is find Frezan and find out what he has learned." Tals streached, his dark mood from before lifted. He was moving around again and that was all he need to feel better.

Let him come. He thought. Just let anything try to stop me. I will take them all on.

"If you don't need anything else, Grue will be going." Hissed the dragon.

"Are you sure you won't change you mind Grue?" Asked Juras.

"No. Grue is worried about sisters. And too much weird stuff is going on."

"Well thanks anyways. So long my friend." Shouted Tals as Grue flew off.

Looking at his aprentice he said, "Shall we get going then."

Meanwhile

A dark horse ran across the land towards Palanthas. It moved as if it were a thing of hell. On it sat a dark rider.

(OOC: What is everyone doing? Too busy huh? Well I am going to continue this.)

The master sat waiting in a street corner. He had sent Juras to get Frezan so that they could find out what he had learned. The gold dragon was a good spy, and also one of the few beings left who knew of the event that was to happen.

He looked up to see his apprentice return...with out the dragon.

"Juras, why isn't he with you?" Tals asked, sounding a tad annoyed.

"I went to the inn where he stays master. The innkeeper gave me this letter from him." Juras looked nervous the whole time.

Dear Tals,

Some buisness has come up and I haven't I won't be able to met with you until you make Priator Rock. Plus, spying is beneath me.
Love,
Frezan

The look on Tals face was murderous. "That stupid dragon. Buisness he says! Thats just his way of saying that he is off courting some girl barely half his age!"

People in the square were taken notice of the man and getting nervous. The air had a strange quality.

"Master please calm down. There are people here. People who would proably want to carry on unharmed." Juras said imploringly.

Tals took a deep breath and sighed. "Your're right Juras, thankyou. It was my fault for trusting him to actually take something serious." Tals seemed to have relaxed by now.

"What do we do now, Master. I hope this doesn't jepordize the mission." Juras said.

"We will go to the temple of Paladine." He said it without emotion.

"But, I thought we didn't like Paladine or any of the gods for that matter." Juras was now confused.

Skalthan ignored the cool night's breeze that attempted to caress his skin. He was past such foolish notions as comfort. And emotion...emotion existed only to benefit whatever goal he might have in mind at any given moment. It would not do to be controlled by his own feelings, something his master seemed to overlook. But such control of one's self was essential in the developement of one's power.

He will learn of the value of control soon enough.

But for now, Skalthan was still the apprentice and bowed to his master's obvious wisdom. The apprentice allowed a knowing smile so that his body might feel as his mind.

A second later, performing his duty, Skalthan informed his master telepathically that the dragon was communicating with another.sitting in a Honda at lunch

Tals and Juras had gotten near the outskirts of the temple. Tals stopped and sat down.

"We will wait here Juras. I can sense the presence of many strong minds here. Can't you or has all those years of training been for nothing?"

"I...I can master! The power is amazing! How shall we approach them?" The young man, now that he had fully opened his senses, nearly keeled over.

"I am working on that right now. Though we can not go yet because someone has not arrived yet."

"But, can't we just go ahead and get started?" The kid was begining to get a little frustrated. He was only twelve so even after all the years of discipline, he still had only so much patience.

"I don't like having to repeat myself thats why." The answer was pointed as the Master had sensed his apprentice's impatience.

"Besides, this is a good time for us to regain some energy and focus our minds. You sensed the power in there, right?" Seeing the boy nod, he continued.

"There are some powerful minds in there yet. Some discplined, but none in the way ours are. I would like to get a better feel for them. Plus, I also need to, uh, ugh ask Paladine's permission."

He coughed slightly and appeared to interupt her. "If you have no objections.. i must take my leave, my appretice and i must train, however i would wish to talk with you again, and in private," he looked to his apprentice "But that can wait for now....i will take my leave and will find you again soon."'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

Skalthan bowed slightly to his master. Some training sounds very reasonable...and welcome.

He waited politely for his master to inform Glimmer of their departure and then started to walk out of the Temple grounds, turning once to incline his head slightly to the dragon almost as an afterthought.

Kalia bowed in respect to the mage. "I too must depart...I have someone to meet...further south...If you wish you may meet me there...But we will be returning to Palanthas soon..." She said, returning to her dragon form.

"Farethee well Mage...we will meet again soon." She said, as her magics lifted her into the air, to save the buildings around her. Glimmer Spread her great Feathered wings and swept them gracefully, gaining altitude. She banked sharply to the south and flew off.

She flew hard for the next four hours...and met up with Cade. She landed in a clearing, and let out a roar to let him know that she had decided to meet him instead.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

Kayiot departed from the Gardens of the Temple and walked with his apprentice, until the came to a large alleyway. He looked around him to make sure that no-one was in sight, particulary any mages. Kayito knew that there was a mageware shop in the vincinity.

"Very well apprentice, this is a rather easy spell, if you have been practicing the mind focus techniques that i taught you....no doubt you have." He grinned slightly then continued. " Find that calm, that focus. Picture yourself shroaded in shadows and darkness, gather those shadows around you...smother yourself in them....feel them slipping over your skin....the blackness swirling around you." All the while his apprentice had his eyes closed, concentrating hard...Kayito walked behind him and swipped the young mans legs out from under him. His apprentice fell to the ground hard. "Do not close your eyes! Find the calm while your eyes are open... i realise that it may prove confusing but it will work. I will do the spell aswell." Helping him up, Kayito faced him...eyes open...as was his apprentice's.

"Once again..find the focus, the calm...picture the shadows and draw them around you." Kayito began to fade, becoming a shadow, swirling mists surrounding him. He faded from sight and moved along the ground into the shadows. His apprentice could not see him or sense him. Once you have cast the spell...come and find me...it will be good practice for you.'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

"I thought we were going to meet them at the temple master." Juras said, annoyed and sleepy.

"Well, this was a...all apart of my plan. I had deceided that it was better to meet them seperatly." Tals grinned sheepishly.

"Lets follow those two mages." Tals said managing to slightly change the subject.

"But, Master you said we should stay away from most mages on Ansalon just on principle. Those two even look like rouges. You said it yourself that they are too unpredictable." Juras looked upset and even a little scared.

"Yes normally I would. Magic on this continent is an art that is very selfish and often makes for very selfish people. But, it will be okay. They consider us "mages" here even though that is incorrect. I would never take anything from the gods unless I have to."

"Master, your rambling again."

"Sorry, lets follow them."

Asharan had finally made it to the city limits when he saw a dragon fly over head. He would have just ignored if not for the fact that he sensed its power.

He hastly turned about face and began to ride in the direction of the dragon.

So my quarry is already on the move. Well. I didn't want to go to Palanthas anyways. That place carries the poison of too many old memories.

Skalthan listened to his master's voice, closing his eyes to concentrate. A moment later his legs were bruised and he was lying flat on his back. He accepted the critism and the pain with clenched teeth and listened to the correction, watching his master seep into the darkness.

Taking a deep breath, Skalthan stood still and allowed himself to get in touch with his surrounding. He felt no anger towards his master, just a burning need to get it right...to surpass his current skill...

The alley was dark and silent on first glance, but with the second came a tingling of sounds...the city was alive and seemed to breathe...to laugh and cry...bang and creep...

Bits of light filtered through cracks and crevices, created the coveted shadows and he gazed at them with his dark eyes, defining their edges and feeling their soft power...

As he watched, his subconscious reached to them and they answered his call. Dark clouds swirled around him, edging into the break the wall of his physical self...he whispered the spell and felt a coolness slip over his skin, taking away his breath...breath? What did he need that for? It seemed as a fading memory...

The night was alive. A new world spread out before him and he wished to cry out in joy. The shadow around him tingle in response and he sent out a sound among them...except it was sound no longer...

Slipping through the bases of building, avoiding the moonlight, Skalthan marveled at movement without friction, without shape or boundary--besides the accused light and even that would not stop him forever.

So lost was he in this newfound power that it was some time before he remembered his master's last words to him. Soaring up to a space of darkness created by a third story, the apprentice eyed the Land of Shadow and the search began... Kayito was pleased that his apprentice had succeeded in casting the spell, more so for his own sake...he could become rather moody if he had not perfected a spell first time round. He was surprised at how easily he moved within the shadow...Kayito supposed he should never be surprised around this young man, he was incredibly adept in his power and skill...much like he was his at his age.

Well done Skalthan.. now find me...you are good but there is still much to learn about this world. On that Kayito sped off passing buildings with the swiftness of the wind, he seeped through cracks and down holes, through the sewers and up again attepting to avoid any light source. Although he had effective spells to counter-act the light, Skalthan did not...not yet anyway. 'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

((OOC: Moody?? LOL. Sounds about right. :)))

Skalthan took his time in the tracking of his master, exploring every possibility of this new spell. He often thought that knowing the limitations of any particular spell was essantial--not only to ensure that it can be used to it's full potential, but to understand those limitations was the first step in breaking them.

Moving slowly, he followed the echo of his master's last telepathic call, and got his first real surprise when he found that the other mage had slipped through a keyhole.

Such compression did not sit well with Skalthan and he took the time to train himself out of his reluctance to do something entirely outside the capabilities that he had known all his life. He realized he had to let it go...up was no longer just up, it could be any of a infinate number of directions as gravity had no effect on something so insubstancial. There were numerous chances to find and use...

Eventually he got through the keyhole but by then the echo was gone. Looking around, the apprentice scanned the area for other clues and realized that he was slowly becoming familiar with how things looked in the Shadow World...he now could recognize a few people, though their features were bright with reflected light; the colors, shapes distorted.

Skalthan decided then to test his depth perception and speed at the same time. He took to the streets again and gauged a clear path along the shaded sides of building that ended in a pool of light.

The speed was exhilerating, like nothing he had ever dreamed of...he reveled in it, feeling like it was most natural thing in the world...

Stopping was an entirely different matter. It took the apprentice a few frustrating seconds to halt his forward motion and a bit of himself edged into the pool of light...

A shock jolted through his system. It wasn't pain like he had ever felt when his nerves had warned him of danger...it was festering and spread...

He jerked back instinctively and, shaken, thought it was perhaps time to find his master...Staying as far away from light as he could, Skalthan took to flying around the city, looking for any imprint made by a shadow with magic and poccessing of a conscious mind. His search lead him--thankfully--to the dark sewers then to an abandoned building where he caught a glimpse of his elusive master.

Ducking into a hollowed support shaft that ran across the ceiling, Skalthan attempted to catch his master by surprise...Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching on magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Asharan reined in Indari and sat at a distance. "Human?! That's something I haven't been called in along time. And here I thought you two would be worth the trouble." The voice was deep and hallow and while it had a cold quality, there was the unmistakble sound of amusment.

The rider's armor had a hidously warped quality though one could tell it must have once been very beautiful. The rider was proably about 5 foot nine. His helm covered most of his face, but two red pinpoints of light came from under the helm. On his shoulders flutter a dark blue, rotting cape. The most noticable feature was a simple golden chain whose perfection and color stood out from the rest of the armor.

The horse its self was large. And black. It's eyes also glowed red.

"Let's just make this simple, which one of you is the scoin of the gods? I know one of you is so there is no use in lying."

I really should have just kidnapped Tals and brought him here. Then I could have made him tell me which was which.

Glimmer snarled, and lowered her head. Her tail lashed from side to side, Her wings extended slightly as if to give her better leverage. She kept her eyes locked on what could only be a Death Knight.

This is not good Cade...I don't know if I can hold my own against such darkness.... She sent. Her mental voice was worried. She glared at the Knight, and Roared, her full throated roar only caused the knight's mount to Fick it's ears in mild irritation.

"But, first we should find a better place to talk. The story you are about to hear may attract unwanted attention. Plus, there are others who are chosen to play a role and they are not present."

Asharan had been riding at fairly fast pace. He didn't want to enter the city right away because it would be a difficult thing for one in his condition to do. And Palanthas like all of Anaslon was a painful place for him.

The globes raised to an equal level of the creatures, and with a nonchalant wave, the globes sped to their targets.

Skalthan neared the Grove and a great feeling of trepidation washed over him. It was shockingly strong, despite the logic that told him he could not be hurt. Not in this form.

Creeping near, a coldness joined his fear. He knew his master was testing him, knew that Kayito was as frightened as he and would eventually be stopped by this fear...

No, he thought suddenly. My master is more afraid than I. He is prey to those feelings, those that are not beneficial.

Still, the apprentice felt tense and was reluctant to go any further, his irrational thoughts preventing his "body" from obeying his thoughts.

But then he sensed something. Something about the woman they had met earlier. Something was happening and surely his master would want to know.

The purpose flowed through him and he cast aside the fear. It nawed at him still but would grudgingly allow him to at least go as far as Kayito.

Flowing into the Grove, Skalthan stopped near his master and would have smiled at the sight of Kayito stopped between two trees, not moving. The apprentice edged a bit further than his master, as if he had over-shot his mark.

I wonder who is the master of the creatures this time? Nokomis should have died a long time ago.

"Watch out young warrior. These things aren't what you think. Their claws contain an unusual poison." Tals cautioned.

Well, I had better get prepared for battle too.

Tals begins to move his hands in a quick variety of stiff mantras. "Come forth Tital!"

Suddenly a light seems to stream out of his body and forms in front of him. It takes on the shape of rather large huminoid being. The creature is dressed in clean, stiff robes. It is well built. It has two huge wings made of blades. The strangest feature is its face. It has no eyes, nose, mouth or ears and is completly bald.

Tals himself is standing there eyes closed. He seems to be concentrating very hard.

Tassana sat in her living room reading a scroll by the light of her fountain. The light of Solinari shone well in the room. He too looked as if he were reading something. A light touch on the shoulder startled the usually unstartlible kender. (Is that a word?) She looked up from her scroll.

In elven form, Tinsel stood looking at Tassana. The silver dragon looked anxious and nervous.

"What is wrong?" Tassana asked softly. She didn't want to wake Zynx, a baby brass/silver dragon Tassana had found in her travels.

The female silver sighed and looked down. "You might want to come and have a look at this yourself, m'lady," she said as quietly as she could.

Seeing and hearing the urgence of this request, Tassana put the scroll on the table and stood up. She stretched. "How late is the hour?" she asked.

"It is late our hour. Passed midnight, I should say," Tinsel responded.

"Passed midnight?" Tassana said a little too loudly. She quieted her voice. "I started studying around noon. You mean to tell me no one alerted me to the time? No one has eaten. Poor Zynx must be starved."

"I am not, m'lady," Zynx replied, again startling the kender. "Tinsel fed me near sundown. 'Tis ok, you know. You don't have to feed me all the time. Tinsel and Coby help me a lot."

Tassana smiled at the dragon who was growing pretty fast for one so young. Already he was about the size of a human in height. Bleak memories of their first encounter came to the mind of the kender. She sighed.

"M'lady," Tinsel interrupted, "I really think you should come and see this."

The silver dragon led the kender and baby dragon outside. Tinsel then pointed to the sky. "See the moons? What is it that looks different about them?" she asked the kender.

Tassana looked up at the sky. She gazed at the three moons. She could see all three moons because she worshipped all three gods. Much was what it cost her to learn magic. Worship us all three and magic will be given thee. Ask for powers from one and thy magic will be done. Lunitari's words still echoed in Tassana's head like the repetitionous wind. They are words she will never forget.

She noticed how close the three moons were tonight. She had been noticing them slowly getting closer and closer every night. Her eyebrows creased. "It would seem as if they are trying to align," she observed.

(You are correct, m'lady,) Coby whispered from somewhere behind her.

It was obvious for her that he was in dragonform. He and Tinsel never spoke with their mouths in dragonform. His words were like soft music dancing on the breeze. She turned and looked at the huge dragon. He was 23' in length. (He had grown since Fernwood Village.) She cocked her head. "What does that mean?" she asked, confused.

*For one who studies magic, m'lady, you sure do not know much of your gods,* Brightsky said, looking uneasy at the sky.

The pegasus had been with Tassana since a few days after her departure from Qualinesti some.... 8.... 9 years ago? Tassana stopped counting, finding it pointless. She would never get to go back. And why should she be allowed? A kender living amonst elves? How absurd!

"I know much about my gods, but I have yet to find the meaning of an alignment of the three. Such things don't accure, do they?" she asked, puzzled.

Tinsel nodded her head sorrowfully. "Every thousand years, Lady Tassana. They align and there is something of a celebration in this. Some call it the Night of the Purple Sky."

"Sounds big. Sounds important," the kender said, returning her gaze to the sky.

Coby and Tinsel nodded in unison. "It is. It is very important," Tinsel said.

Tassana sighed. "I will have to look upon this matter. I will go to the Tower in Wayreth. Mayhap they will know something."

Her eyes fell to the pegasus. "Brightsky, would you mind taking me there? It is a long wallk otherwise."

The pegasus stallion nodded in agreement. Tassana then looked at the three dragons. "Stay here unless you are called for. I will return as soon as I can. And please keep my home in one piece," she told them and then hopped on Brightsky's back. The stallion leaped into the sky and soon pegasus and kender were enveloped in the darkness of the night.

OOC: Sorry for such a long post, but there were some things I needed to explain etc etc."I would rather be in a room with a hundred draconians, a thousand ogres, and two big red dragons than in a room alone with a bored kender." (Not the exact quote, but close enough.)

OOC: I think I'll play my Lady Knight in this one- Salome Lonestar, Knight of the rose. Incidentally; for those of you who are interested in trivia- there was a Gregory Peck film called 'Purple Sky'.

IC:

It was a cool night and Salome Lonestar was riding away from the small town of Eldgore, where her last assignment had taken place on her skittish young roan Nimka, when she happened to glance to the skies and see the dark purple hue that was spreading its way over the far horizon.

"That is no ordinary sunset, Nimka" the lady knight knew this at once. It was like a premonition, although she could give no palpable reason for her certainty. Her golden brown eyes became thoughtful. She knew that her comrades would be awaiting her return in Palanthus but she felt reluctant to return to the chapter house when so tempting a mystery lay before her.

With a devilish grin she changed Nimka's direction and rode west. If anyone might have an answer to this particular problem it would be her old friend Rain- the seer. Surely she would be able to shed some light on the purple sky.

The time has come, the Walrus said, to speak of many things. Of ships and shoes and sealing wax. Of cabbages and kings.
