OOC: okay this story places about six years after "Quest of the nightStalker" And about five years after "The Hunt" (Hope you don't Mind Starlite! Since that thread isn't going anywhere) Aykea and Alucardt have been joined, and are living in a Valley that they helped Kiri establish. Ayeka and Alucardt have a set of Twin boys, now five years old, Adrian and Jadrek. Adrian looks like Ayeka's Father...His Namesake, dark Auburn/Red hair and Topaz blue eyes. Jadrek has his father's platinum blonde hair and his mother's blue/violet eyes.

NOTE: This is the perfect thread for Ontarys character to get his revenge against Ayeka! hint hint? Email me Ontarys! PantherMoon_2000@hotmail.com

BIC: Ayeka woke with a start, her eyes wide, an her breath came in short,
panicked gasps. Alucardt slept beside her undesturbed. She smiled at him, and gently brushed a lock of platinum colored hair from his brow. She wrapped her silk robe around her and walked to the balcony edge.

She blinked in the light of the day, and judged that the sun would set in three hours. She sighed and struggled to remember the dream that had woken her in such a fright. The dream eluded her as easily as a fox evading a hunter's trap. She shrugged and walked back inside. She pulled on a silk tunic, and doeskin breeches. She braided her long golden hair and tied it with a leather cord.

Jenna, her white wolf greeted her at the door opposite of theirs. She checked on the twins quietly, looking in on them with a pride guarenteed to a mother. Adrian, the spitten image of Ayeka's father and Brother, slept restlessly, the light blankets twisted around his leg and half on the floor. She smiled and crept into the room silently. She gently pulled the blanket free and tucked her younger son in. She kissed him on the forhead, knowing that he would sleep for at least an hour more.

Jadrek, the elder twin, slept peacefully. His longer platinum blonde hair fanned out against the pillow. His full lashes hid his beautiful violet/blue eyes. She smiled at him, but refrained from kissing him, knowing that even that gentle touch would waken him. She turned and started to walk out of the room when Jadrek called out to her.

"Mom?" he called sleepily. "Hush now..." she whispered. "Go on go back to sleep for a little while longer...there is still plenty of time...Your Uncle Touga won't be going anywhere" She said softly as the tucked Jadrek back in and kissed him. She walked outside to seek Kiri out.

The twins where due to visit their Uncle, her brother, in their joint ruled kingdom in Northern Ergoth. She felt a sudden stab of aprehension as she thought of the trip the twins would be taking with their guards. She wondered again just what her dream was about. The power to save the world...rests within a Child's Heart

((OOC: *shakes her head* Kalia...you're insane. Simply, utterly insane.

*sighs* How am I going to work this... *mutters to herself* 6 years? Okay, that works as long as this is after Love or War too. k? Hm...that doesn't work that well for Ayeka...oh well, make it work! :)

Anyways, Kiri is looking for a boyfriend. (God, I feel so silly saying that :)). Furanthas, I'm looking in your direction...or someone else...or I'll just play him myself. :P))

Kiri-koli sank lower into her plush chair and yawned happily. She shifted the large book in her lap and turned the page, taking a moment to gaze up before reading on. She was sitting within her house, her house!, that she had built with her own magic in the Valley she had restored...with help, of course, but it was still a great feeling.

She yawned again and pushed lower into the chair, feeling the soft material rub against her back, as soft as the once again familiar feeling of the power of the Stone of Temeras, which was now sitting in a make shift "temple" in the middle of the lush Valley. She had yet to get to completing the "temple"...interviewing the new "recruits"...talking Ayeka into letting her teach the kids more magic...

The mage giggled. She was on break and those things could wait. Her house was finished and ahead of schedual. It consisted of a large, public garden that was sculpted with waterfalls and almost elven trees...the house itself included one "permanent" enterance hall made of black and white marble and carved with the likeness of flying griffons. The other "rooms" of the house came at their master's call as space was limited by the lavish garden.

Kiri closed her eyes and could have sworn she smelled roses. Everything was going smoothly, perfectly, in fact, if compared to the rest of her life. Turning back to her book on Rune magic, the mage promptly fell asleep. "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and
I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

OOC: Why starlite I had no Idea a gentlemen such as myself had won your eye!! I'm honored to be in the same paragraph as boyfriend. Now I wasn't apart of nightstalker 1 but with good old elaboration scenes I think I can manage. Now for a character?......
How bout a simple red robe. Not to handsome but just enough to catch her eye.

Like hell you didn't!! Btw, sorry I haven't posted in Green Star yet...waiting for the right mood...:P

Anyways, little backround, Kiri is a silver robed mage who gets her power from the Stone of Temperas (which calls to children who have potential). Now that the Valley has been reconstructed and the magic revived...I'm thinking the Council is gunna notice it this time and send someone to investigate these "renegades". A red robe is perfect cuz the silver are all about balance and rune magic. :)

Ayeka walked throught the villiage paths intent on finding her She'Endra...her Blood Sister(hows that sound?) She was just about to turn again and walk towards Kiri's home, when she heard a faint rustle, She saw a flash of red as she was knocked to the ground.

Ayeka fell hard, her right arm pinned under her weight. as suddenly as her attacker knocked her over, the weight was removed, and she heard laughter.....VeryFamiliar laughter.

Touga stood before her, his long dark red hair flowing free as always. His bright Topaz blue eyes shone with merriment. His long red cloak flowed free in the wind, as he laughed heartily at his sister.

"Touga!! You Creatin!!" she hissed, her violet/blue eyes shadowed in anger. She lept to her feet, and swung at him, knowing that her swing was wide. He only laughted again.

"Tsk Tsk...You're loosing your edge sister dear." He laughed as he caught her up and hugged her feircely. "Now...Where are those Nephue's of mine?" He asked, as he looked behind her.

"If I know Alucardt and Jenna, they are up now and getting ready. They where up late cause they where so excited about spending the Midsummer holiday with you." she said dusting off her clothing. "I was just on my way over to see Kiri before seeing you and the boys off...would you join me?" She asked.

Touga paled, and bit his lip. Silently he nodded and offered his sister his arm. Ayeka studied him for a moment and slipped her arm though his. Together they walked though the villiage paths, up to Kiri's door.

Gently Ayeka knocked against the heavy oaken door to Kiri's study. "Kiri? Are you there She'endra?"Freedom comes costly:

A single crystal glass adorned the large table in the eating quarters. Antique furniture of all kinds furnished the luxuriant abode. The red liquid shone like liquid rubies as light from the nearby fireplace bounced off the cyrstaline glass.

A lone figure sat at the head of the table and took a sip as he gazed out the window into the now overcast night. Paying scant attention to the baying and howling of the wolves in the nearby forest. There were newcomers to his province, people with whom he had a score to settle.

Two figures emerge in the semi dark room, their shadows seemingly had a life of their own as they made there way to the seated man. "We have what you commanded us to bring master." Both held a young maiden by either hand as she struggled frantically to get free. With a motion he bid them leave as the girl stood defiantly but fearful as she was approached by the ominous figure shrouded in the shadows of the firelight. Enthralled by his eyes she did not resist as he reached out his hand and pulled her near. Only a faint moan gave away her apprehension.

He kissed her softly as his lips moved tantaizingly slow across her soft skin stopping at her neck. Slowly he bit.............................................as she held him tightly, clenching and unclinching with every movement of his.

His hunger for the time being satiated he set the young maiden upon a coffin and reveled in his act of seduction. "I will bring you back as my companion, my goals will be yours and your wishes shall be mine as well. together we will find whom I seek, but first........there are others with whom I have a score to settle." He thought back to the death of lord Drache..........Touga, Ayeka, and a burning since of revenge came upon him as he thought of Kiri. "They too will pay for hindering my will....soon."

A gasp could be heard near him as he was recoleccting(sp :D ) the maiden was becoming undead. Soon his plans would be in place. The two figures returned upon his motion to follow his next command. "There are those out there in my lands that I have a wish to deal with...............follow them"
The two shadowy figures nodded in consent as they began to dissapate in the darknes " Yes lord Taryn................"

He stood near the coffin slowly stroking her hair as she struggled to come into her undead self. "Be ready.......for there is a whole new world out there for me to show you." An ominous smile came across his face as he whispered "And I know who I will feed you first" >:)..................

((OOC: Furanthas!! I already told you what to do!! :)

The Stone of Temeras has started calling people with potential to the Valley. Last time it did this, all who were called were babies or very small children and this went unnoticed by the Conclave. Now a few older people are being called too, as the Stone has catching up to do. Say one of the Tower mages was called and this was brought to the attention of the Conclave. The Valley is protected from scrying, so they have to send someone to investigate...you can either be called or go with the one who was, pretending...

Make sense?))

Kiri-koli yawned in her sleep and rolled over in her plush chair right on top of her book about runes.

"Ow!" the mage shot straight up and watched in amazement as a spiky rune receded back into the title. Apparently, this book didn't like being sat on...

Kiri stretched and muttered, "Just as well," as she noticed a small blue sphere hovering in the air before her. It was her "doorbell" and she had disabled the sound only yesterday because it was so annoying...she sighed. She'd have to enable it again. Couldn't have people waiting at the door...

The mage straightened her silver robes and threw the door open. Ayeka stood there, grinning. Kiri grinned back and hugged her. "She'endra! Sorry, I kept you waiting...I fell asleep." She grinned sheepishly, her green eyes flashing in amusement at her own expense.

Abruptly she became aware of another presense behind Ayeka. She turned to see a familiar face and the grin left her face, her eyes adopting an unfathomable look. She inclined her head and said noncomittaly, "Hello Touga."

Not waiting for an answer, the mage spun in a flurry of silver and lead them to a dark doorway. She stepped through into oblivian and a room appeared at her feet. It was a small room with a small wooden table and a ton of cabinets. "Hungry?" she asked, grabbing a piece of fruit and taking a bite. "So what brings you to my humble abode?""I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

Ayeka stifled a giggle at Kiri's abruptness to Touga, and followed her. "the Twins will be joining Touga on his trip home, and will spend their midsummer holiday with Him." ((HINT HINT ONTARYS!!)) Ayeka said, her eyes still faintly haunted from her dreams. "I just wanted you to be there to see them off."

Just then, the door opened, as Alucardt walked in, followed by Jadrek and Adrian. Jadrek ran up to his mother, and held out his arms. Ayeka picked him up with ease and hugged him close. Adrian looked at his uncle from behind their father.

"Mom! We're all packed!" Jadrek exclaimed excitedly as Ayeka set him back down. "Good! You and your brother can leave with your Uncle as soon as he is ready okay?" she said smiling. Touga smiled at Adrian and held out his hand. The shy boy took his uncle's hand as Jadrek hugged Touga around his legs.

"I guess I better tell you and Alucard about the presents that I have for them....NightShade had her pups three months ago, Two remained behind...One male one female...So, we'll let the pups choose their masters shall we?" he said laughing, as NightShade Sauntered into the room, casting Kiri a baleful look before herding the two cubs into the room. The female was grey with cream and black markings, while the Male, was a reddish black with grey markings.

"Okay boys...Remember what I taught you...Reach out to them...Show them your true being...the pup will choose you...not the other way around." Jadrek turned and closed his lavender-blue eyes, his brother quickly did the same. Almost at once, the Female pup Yipped and ran towards Jadrek. Jadrek laughed as the pup licked his face eagarly. With a breif hesitation, the male whined, and walked towards Adrian, and licked the boys hand just as shyly as the boy looked back at him.

Ayeka smiled at her boys, knowing that they would grow up able to protect themselves...They knew basics in magic, thanks to Kiri, and they knew the magics that they where born able to do.

"alright...everyone ready?" Touga asked smiling.

OOC: K I try my best here so just go with me.

BIC:

It was mid morning when the suns light woke him from his peaceful slumber. He smelt the dew on the lush green grass and heard the chirps of forest birds singing.
Listening closer Jenovan realized what was missing from the tranquil scene, his friend and current appointed mission Amadi. Rising quickly with twigs and small pepples falling from his velvety red robes Jenovan scanned the small clearing for any sign of movement. He knew he would see nothing but it was becoming habit, For he had been following his friend on this journey for almost a week now and only lost him three times.
Thinking back to the night before Jeno(short form) saw his error, they had been travelling under a haste spell for about ten minutes and had covered many miles. As Jeno ceased the spell Amadi had brushed the back of his neck with his short metal staff. Jenovan had thought nothing of it that is until now.
He had laid a sleeping curse upon him planning to gain some ground.

" He always was suttle, I'll give'm that." Jenovan spoke to himself aloud.

Gathering his traveling kit up into one of the robes pockets, he brushed back his just below shoulder length black hair. The misty blue eyes searched the horizon as if seeing beyond, and indeed they did. At least ten miles ahead he could see Amadi walking slowly towards a hazy area. Jenovan did not waste his power trying to see into the haze for he knew even the greatest couldn't scry that place.
Thinking to himself for a moment Jenovan slowly knelt to the ground.

" Lathao uoth sundara. Belise T'dow." He spoke the words aloud with his eyes closed.
The magic began its course, the ground shook for a moment as if a giant had squashed a bug. Jeno's physical form began to reshape and sink into the earth. Within seconds he was completly one with the rock, casting his focus towards Amadi he began to move at a unbelevable speed. Many creatures gazed in bewelderment as a strange human like form flew along the ground.

Minutes passed and the miles dissapered, feeling the magic failing Jeno despeled and returned to the surface. Once again he knelt upon the ground only now he was where Amadi had been when he had left. Feeling the drain upon his energy Jenovan satyed knelt for awhile. Finally he rose and set off after Amadi, Determination and pride drove him on. Not only was he following a freind but also earning respect from the conclave.
He couldn't beleive it when the conclave told him Amadi had dissapered, he had thought the stories of "some force drawing him" had been a joke. Now standing hundreds of miles from home he beleived.99 bottles of beer on the wall.

Kiri-koli brushed past Touga and said harshly, "No, everyone is not ready." She grinned as she passed Ayeka, but hid the grin from Touga.

Reaching down she hugged Jardek and Adrian, subtly sprinkling some dust on them. The twins collasped into giggles in the mage's arms and Kiri smiled, her emerald eyes sparkling.

Adrian was the first to stop laughing. He leaned back within the mage's grasp and stared at her through narrowed eyes. "You have something for us," he proclaimed with childlike certainty. Kiri laughed and tousled the boy's hair. He squirmed and glared at her till the mage produced two small stones, both had a blue lavender center the color of the boys' eyes ringed with gold. One, which was tied to Jardek's new puppy, was surrounded with a swirl of creamy black, while the other, tied around Adrian's new puppy, was a swirl of red gray.

"There. Now you won't lose them. You may be going on vacation but you two still have to keep up with your studies! It's up to you to figure out how they work."

Kiri-koli smiled as the twins's faces lit up with curiosity. She turned to Touga and said calmly, "Now they're ready."

Ayeka hugged her boys again, her heard swelling with pride for them. "now come on, We'll see you to the crossroads." she said, holding onto Jadrek's hand as Alucardt picked Adrian up.

"Come on Aunt Kiri...join us...it's only to the crossroads!" called Jadrek, smiling.

Ayeka smiled as she led the boys out to the stables, where Touga's carriage for the boys, their escort, and his Blood Bay Stallion waited for them. Ayeka motioned to the stable hand, and he brought out NightHeart, and Ghost. Ayeka Swung up into NightHeart's saddle in one motion. The Black Mare pranced eagarly. Ghost, The Pure White stallion, pawed the ground as Alucardt approached him. Alucardt patted the proud saddlebred stallion as he too swung up into the saddle.

The boys where greeted by Jenna and Billy. The two wolves yipped and howled their farewell before running off ahead. Touga helped the boys into the carriage, and lept up into The Blood Bay's saddle.

Ayeka turned, and waited for Kiri, knowing that the boys would be heart broken if She didn't come too.Freedom comes costly:

"Aunt" Kiri grinned at the twins and nodded that they should go ahead. They did so, to the stabbles, climbing up into Touga's carriage. Ayeka, Touga and Alucardt mounted their beautiful steeds and turned to look for the mage.

She was nowhere to be seen.

Just as the boys were started to get severely disapointed and Jadrek's lower lip threaten to extend into a full pout, a shimmer of silver and gold announced Kiri's arrival atop Pan. They flew circles about the carriage to the twin's cheers and begging to have a ride on the graceful griffon.

Kiri looked to Ayeka for permission and then urged Pan to fly low next to the twins. The great beast complied, though not without a snide remark made lovingly towards the dirty boys, and allowed them to ride before the mage. The four of them flew on ahead as the twin's parents and Touga rode their thundering steeds towards the Crossroads. There they landed and the boys dismounted with much reluctance.

Kiri-koli smiled at them and sent them off to their Uncle Touga. The mage then slid up to Ayeka's side and seeing the mother's eyes fill with tears, stole the words from her mouth.

"I'm going to miss them..."

Ayeka nodded with difficulty, this was the first summer the boys would be awya...but she had promised Touga that they would visit the summer of their sixth birthday, and every summer after that.

She watched as the carriage and their escort rode over the hill in the distance. she smiled as she saw the twins turn and wave just before the carriage dissapeared from sight. She turned, steeling her resolve. She looked at Alucardt, and smiled at him. She returned Kiri's affectonate squeeze then spurred NightHeart down the trails. The Black Mare responded eagerly, and punded down the road, leaving Alucardt alone with Kiri.

Alucardt sighed, his amber eyes dark with worry. "She misses them already...but I know better...all she needs is a little time to herself...she'll be fine." He said, smiling reasuringly at Kiri, though, it seemed it was more for himself than the dark haired woman.

Alucardt shook his head, turned Ghost around and allowed the Stallion to canter back towards the Valley.

_------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: Okay...I am gonna help you on this Ontarys!! I am gonna play one of the "Hirees" in your little group that you supposidly sent

BIC:Tyrel frowned, as the sounds of hooves reached his ears, and the creaking of carriage wheels. That was it!! The small caravan from the Valley! Their target was near.

He whistled softly in the night, mimicking the sounds of the local night birds. A soft whistle sounded nearby. Tyrel flattened himself against the ground as he watched the caravan creep by. They where taking it slow, and from the looks of it, only a few of the escorts where Vampire.

Tyrel's brown eyes narrowed as he locked his eyes on the lord of the nearby lands, Lord Touga Drache... Tyrel's lips twisted in a hate filled sneer. This man, was the man who killed his sister...many years ago, when Adrian Drache still ruled.

----------------------------------------------------

Touga reined in his blood bay, the stallion snorted in indignation and then quieted. He turned, he could feel somthing was wrong...someone was watching him.

---------------------------------------------------

Tyrel froze, and looked away as Touga's ice blue gaze swept over him. after a few moments, he sighed softly as Touga urged his horse forward again. only to look up and find the Vampire lord standing just infront of him. Tyrel nearly screamed, but Touga was quicker, he reached down and picked him up by the collar.

"What are you doing here?" Touga Hissed, his eyes covered by that errie golden cast. Tyrel shuddered at the sight of the fangs that where shown as Touga spoke. "Tell me or else!!" He snarled.

"Or what?" Tyrel choked. "you'll kill me? bleed me dry like you did my Older sister??" He gasped as Touga's grip tightened. "You have a very dangerous enemy Lord Drache! and he will stop at nothing till he has taken everything that is dear to you and to your sister!! Starting with those twin brats!!"

Touga nearly choked himself. He dropped Tyrel as shouts of hatered filled the forest. Then all Hell broke loose.

(Sorry gotta do this if I want it to start the way I want to.)
Tyrel smiled as the group swarmed the escort and the carriage. the boys within it screamed. remember...bring the red-haired child to me...alive!hissed the all too familiar voice in Tyrel's head. Tyrel nodded at once. He yelled out and attacked Touga without warning. Touga faltered and fell. Tyrel frowned, knowing that Touga was still alive. Don't worry about that yet...I want him to suffer.

Tyrel nodded once, and left the Lord lay there, unconcious and bleeding. THe group had killed the escort and dragged the boys from their carriage. The younger, the one with the red hair was crying. His blue eyes drowned in tears, while the elder, stood stoicly over his twin, his lavender eyes narrowed in anger.

"Now you little brats...now the fun begins." Tyrel hissed, his voice deep. He reached for the younger boy, only to yelp in pain as the elder boy slashed his small blade across Tyrel's hand. He glared at the boy and promptly backhanded the child across the chin. Jadreck fell back without a sound.

Adrian gasped as he saw his brother hit the ground. Tyrel smiled evily, as a cloth was pressed in his hand. He snatched up the child, and pressed the cloth over his nose and mouth. Adrian cried and tried to struggle, but Tyrel held on untill the boy's struggles ceased. Smiling, he mounted Touga's Horse, and rested the child in front of him.

"May your pain be a thousand fold Lady Ayeka Crane and Lord Drache!! For this is just the begining!!"

Tyrel kicked the Stallion and the beast lept forward, leaving all the wreckage behind him.

Alone, the two small wolf pups crept out from the carriage. They crept over to the still form of Jadrek. the female nosed him gently, and started whining, that eventually led to a weak howl.

(OOC: Okay summary here...Touga and Jadrek are alive...Tyrel works for Taryn, and Has Kidnapped Adrian for him. BIC: Nightshade was finally able to break free of the magical trap that was set for her. The large black wolf lunged forward, and growled.

She loped through the woods, searching for Touga, and her pups. The wolf stopped short as her eyes saw the wreckage of the carriage, the riderless horses, the dead bodies, vampire and human alike... NightShade growled, sending her anger across the packsong. The tide of other lupine voices swelled in her mind.

She trotted over to Jadreck, where her two pups sat. Nightshade whined softly nudging the boy. Jadrek moaned softly, and nightshade wagged her tail once, happy that the child was alive. Nightshade turned and saw her master laying still on the ground. She walked over to him. Her nose touched his shoulder, as a thin whine emmited from her throat. She nudged him, and he moaned softly, his breath ragged. She could smell the blood of him seeping into the ground below him.

Nightshade lifted her head and entered into the deep throated howl only full grown adult wolves are capable of. The howl reached through the packsong, and slammed into Jenna and Billy.

Jenna shook her head, feeling the grief of the their packmate. Billy growled, his teeth fully shown. Jenna took off at a ground eating run, catching up with her mistress, as billy did the same.Freedom comes costly:

((OOC: Oh. I thought both boys were going to be taken.))

Kiri-koli reluctantly left Ayeka and Alucardt and returned to her duties.

"Hello, Myla," she said smiling at one of her newest students. About 20 people of all ages and all races sat in an unfinished building down the street from the Temple, waiting to be taught.

Myla, a young human, bowed. "Greetings, Master."

Kiri shook her head. She had told her students not to call her that but some insisted anyway. Myla grinned and took her seat.

"Alright everyone! Today we're going to be..."

"Master Kiri?"

Kiri looked to Jithalas, an elf and the oldest of her students. She relied on him more and more to help her teach. He seemed to have an unusual connection to the Stone of Temeras and a way with people. "Yes, Jithalas?" Kiri called, not at all annoyed.

Jithalas stood with typical elven grace and bowed. "There is someone coming here, a Tower mage."

Kiri shrugged her thin shoulders. "And?"

"He is being followed by another, one who was not called.""I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

OOC: not yet.

BIC: Jenna ran swiftly, her howl in the night echoed through the valley. The packsong swelled, like a tide over a beach. Ayeka was outside of the valley, sitting quietly on the cliff edge, her eyes closed.

Ayeka sighed as she heard Jenna's howl. she opened her mind to the wolf. and was promptly sent reeling. The grey voice in her mind was filled with anguish and fury. The feelings disoriented her as the packsong washed over her, threatening to drown her in a sea of emotion.

Two voices rolled on the waves in the song. two voices that where intertwined in her own. Jadrek and Adrian. The twins voices where quiet compared to the din of the wolves in the pack, but Ayeka picked out their songs as easily as a wolf hunts a wounded deer.

Ayeka lept to her feet, and whirled, her eyes lit by the moons. The Gold cast they gave showed the feral fury burning within her soul...tearing through the packsong.

She lept up into NightHeart's saddle, and without calling to Alucardt or Kiri, she drove the mare down the roads.

((OOC: That's perfect, Kalia. Remember how I said Kiri was going to change after The Hunt and she found the Stone? Well I tried to establish that in Love and War, but that died...*sigh* It simply won't be as fun here. Oh well.))

"The first thing you must remember about Runes is that it is not the artistry that shapes the magic. The most talented artists with the steadiest of hands may not be able to control the magic better than a jittery child with no balance--as long as that child has a clear mind.

The most powerful rune mages don't use their hands at all, save to spread the..." Kiri paused and shook her head, losing her train of thought.

"Master?" one of the younger students asked, concern lit in her sparkling blue eyes.

Kiri shook her head again, trying to clear it. "I'm alright. Now where was I? Oh yes, to spread..."

"But Master!"

"What?" Kiri exploded, disturbed by the students' concern. It was then she noticed that they were looking not at her face but at her hands. The mage's emerald eyes turned downward reluctantly. The skin of her hands was shimmering softly...silver, tan, silver, tan... "Oh, my..."

Silver...tan...silver...tan...silver...black...

A sense of evil...

A familiar face, so very young, so very corrupt...

Must save...can't see...so unclear...so far gone...

Can't see...

Kiri blinked. She was lying on her back with no recollection of getting there. The premonition faded slowly and she made out the worried faces of her students. She smiled reassuringly and reached forward to take a young human's hand, intent on getting up.

With a cry she was knocked backwards again, hit by a wave of anguished sorrow and denial. The packsong sang through her blood sister and therefore her own blood, but she didn't understand, couldn't comprehend the message through the horror...darkness came once again to the mage and her students scrambled in panic.

Ayeka reined in NightHeart as she reached the site of the ambush. Her odd, violet-blue eyes shimmered with unshed tears. "Gods no..." she choked as she saw the wrecked carriage.

She saw touga and fell to her knees at his side. "Touga!? no...don't do this to me!!" she cried her attention suddenly caught by the movement of Jenna and Nightshade near a small body.

"NO!" she cried, her tears falling eagerly now. She scrambled over to the child, her hands shaking as she turned him over. Jadrek's lavender eyes where closed, his skin pale, and his hair was dirty and tangled.

"Jadrek!! honey, come on...mommy's here now...come on, wake up for mommy...." she crooned, sobbing. Jadrek's eyes fluttered for a moment, then opened. the lavender irises constricted as he focused on her. "Jadrek? Jade hon?" she murmered, holding him close.

Jadrek moved slightly, enough to hug his mom back. "Mommy?!" he cried. "Mommy! They took Adrian! they took him away!" He sobbed, burying his face in her hair. Ayeka looked down at Jadrek, and for the first time, noticed the gold cast to his beautiful eyes. Ayeka's breath hitched in her throat.

Jadrek was only a quarter human, and thus had only just started into his vampire heritage...Ayeka cradled him in her lap, as she moved closer to Touga. Jenna and Nightshade crowded near, the pups between Ayeka and Touga.

Ayeka pulled out her small silver dagger from her boot, and made a small shallow cut in her palm. She clenched her fist to make the blood flow freely. She winced as Jadrek's small teeth tore into her skin. As he drew the blood from his mother, Jadrek started to cry, all the pain and fear he felt during the attack was now surfacing.

Ayeka felt the mental pull of her son, feeling is anguish as it melded into her own. Tears coursed their way down her cheeks, only to fall into Jadrek's platinum hair. Sobbing, unable to hold in her fury and anguish and more, she screamed out into the night, as Jenna and Nightshade added their lupine voices to Ayeka's.

Jadrek fell into unconsiousness once more. She cradled her son to her, and rocked back and forth, sobbing. Touga lay behind her, uncounsious but alive. the two adult wolves sent their voices along the packsong, trying to reach the She'Endra...The blood sister...

the song traveled through the trees, heard only by the wolves, and only by those sensitive to the magic of thought. the song was a lament, a cry so filled with sorrow, that the animals of the forest paused for a moment to listen. the Hare stopped mid leap, the Grass cat stopped it's attack, and sat down looking at the Hare in confusion. The Hawk cut it's attacking dive short, while the dove landed and lent it's voice to the song.

Kiri!! Oh gods help me! they've taken him! came the interpetation sent on by the wolves, pictures, and images...sent on and on.Freedom comes costly:

Kiri!! Oh gods help me! they've taken him!

Kiri-koli came back into the conscious world so quickly that a headache ripped through her mind. She was sweating and chilled, laying on the hard floor, tense as a sheet of steel. Elven eyes peered down at her.

"I sent the students home," came a familiar voice that was no comfort. Kiri sat up, breathing so hard that she felt as if her lungs would explode. She pushed her soaked black bangs out of her eyes and then gaped at her trembling hand.

"She'Endra," she croaked. An elven eyebrow lifted. Kiri took a deep breath and held it, forcing her heart rate to go down. The packsong wailed in her ears, sending tears cascading down her flushed cheeks. She exhaled, an explosion of air passing pale lips. "Pan!!"

Gold and silver feathers winged in the near distance. The griffon had heard the packsong from a nearby bird of prey, and taken off immediatly to his friend's side.

"Pan," Kiri sighed in relief as the griffon landed by her side. The elf helped his master onto the back of the griffon, confused. "Watch over the Valley," the mage managed to say before T'Pania took off with such speed that she was nearly thrown from his back.

The reached the site in mere minutes and Kiri tumbled from the Pan's back onto blood soaked ground. Splintered wood lay everywhere around the wrecked carriage. The mage stared and then started forward automatically to check for anyone inside.

Sharp teeth grabbed onto her leg, and she cried out in stunned fear. It was Jenna. The wolf's eyes were strange, so filled with outrage and terrible sadness, that Kiri couldn't think for a moment. She just stood, staring at the wolf with an open mouth and hollow eyes. Jenna pulled on her leg and then let go, trotting off towards the other side of the carriage, looking back to make sure the mage followed.

Kiri did, in a daze. She remembered the words of the packsong. Who was taken? Stepping over the uneven ground, she made her way after Jenna till she was stopped by something that snagged her silver cape. She jumped away and turned to see Touga, covered in blood, staring at her with weak eyes that soon closed.

The mage quickly knelt by his side. He was injured severly, but he would live. There were Circles of Healing and...

Someone was crying to her right and Kiri tore her eyes away from Touga to see Ayeka sitting on the ground, rocking back and forth, sobbing, an unconscious Jadrek in her arms.

"Oh my..." Kiri murmured.

Adrian was nowhere to be seen. "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and
I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Ayeka opened her eyes, The Packsong had shifted, allowing room for another voice...the voice was smooth, and soft...yet commanding at the same time....Kiri.

Ayeka turned her head, and saw her She'Endra kneeling near Touga. "Kiri...They've taken him...Adrain...Gods no....." She sobbed, cradling Jadrek closer. Jenna whined softly then lifted her nose to the night sky, and Howled.

In the distance, another howl answered, as the Echo of Hoofbeats could be heard. Jenna's voice was thick in Ayeka's mind

Your mate runs with mine, they run with the wind Vyusher'Sedrin They will be here soon... Jenna's voice howled as the pounding hooves could be heard more loudly.

Thank you Jel'sutho'edrin...You honor me my friend Jenna looked at Ayeka for a moment then dashed off to meet her mate.

Alucardt reined in Ghost and sid from the stallion's saddle. He patted the Stallions neck in gratitude then ran to Ayeka. Concern filled his amber eyes as he gathered Ayeka in his arms. His voice was soft, nearly imperceptable. "Alucardt...they took him...they took my baby" Ayeka sobbed, nearly all emotion pulled from her cracked voice.

Alucardt closed his eyes against his fury, and picked Ayeka up. To him she seemed to weigh nothing, even with Jadrek in her arms. He took her to NightHeart, and settled her into the saddle. He steadied her and turned to where Touga lay. He looked at his brother-in-law grimly, and then picked him up too, and settled him into Ghost's saddle. Touga sumped over in the saddle, and Alucardt tied him in, making sure that Touga would remain in the saddle for the ride home.

Alucardt then turned to Kiri. "Come on..." he Swallowed hard. "there is nothing more that can be done here...lets go back to the valley...we will find out who did this." Alucardt turned and swung into nighthearts saddle, and turned the Battle Mare around, back to the Valley. He didn't push NighHeart, allowing her to find her own pace. Ghost was teathered to NightHeart's saddle, and followed her willingly.Freedom comes costly:

Which I'm thinking now maybe I don't want anyone to...hm...))

Kiri waved Alucardt off and then turned back to the wreakage, her emerald eyes unfocused. She started to call to Pan but stopped. There had to be something here...some clue...

She searched through the splintered carriage and blood for what must have been hours. Pan left her alone, the great griffon watching with sorrow in his golden eyes. He started when she began to throw things, silently crying into the night.

Kiri... he thought to her softly. The mage sank to the ground. "Why, Pan? W-w-why would anyone take such a young...such an innocent..."

She heard a small whine and something licked her hand. One of the wolf puppies sat next to her, apparently having left his mother and come back.

Kiri stared at it and started to cry once again. It was Adrian's wolf...

Reaching down the mage stroked the wolf, trying to calm its whining. She looked off into the forest, trying to blink the tears from her eyes. Suddenly she saw something...two emerald eyes gazing back at her...familiar eyes...

Kiri? Perhaps we should go...

The mage shuddered. She had forgotten, for just a moment, about Pan and the puppy...all she could see were shining emerald eyes...

But they were gone. Kiri shook her head and started petting the wolf again. She rubbed its ears and reached to massage its neck under the collar...

"Pan!" The griffon stared at her. "The collar...with the stone...it's gone! Do you think...maybe..."

Kiri picked up the puppy and jumped on the griffon's back, speeding towards Ayeka's home. "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

OOC: LOL! :D
OOC2: Is adrian able to drink blood yet?

A small wail could be heard in the "guest room" as Taryn mulled over his agenda for the day. "The young one is quite feisty, a lot like his mother. Well......maybe that will work to my advantage. I will make him see the spendor of his deceased grandfather. The advantages of taking what he wants, the thrill and excitement of the kill, all the things his mother is trying not to let her on be. THAT will be my revenge, yes..................that will be my pleasure."

A thin smile escape his visage as he entered the ajoining room. Adrian had been making quite about of noise and resisting all attempts by the servants to subdue him. He quieted instantly as Taryn entered. "Dont worry child, no harm will come to you. I am here..........to........help. There is so much that I can show you............so much to learn."

Adrian only stared at Taryn defiantly "You know they will come for me..........they will find me out and you'll be finished."

He was cut short by a piercing laugh as a beautiful woman entered the room. Adrian could only stand mesmerized by her beauty. Taryn took this moment to implant his first seeds in the impressionable young adrian. "Yes child, she too thought that she couldnt stand my way of life. She has since learned the pleasure and rich rewards that we deserve over theses pitiful humans. Listen to me and you also will see the great benefits and..............desires of the night."

He held out a golden goblet filled with red liquid which adrian looked at with disgust. "Drink child...........you will most positivly enjoy it I assure you."
Taryn could see the child already begin to waver as he gazed at the goblet. He could see the inner struggle as adrian tried to resist. A thin smile lit taryns face in the firelight as he extended his hand once again........as this time adrian didnt resist.

Thick grey mist had gathered about the two companions early in the day. They had entered a dark and somewhat eeire woods that seemed a perfect match for the fog. Jenovan welcomed the nightmare atmosphere as a child welcomes playing in puddles. He had seen woods like this all his life and had become comfortable in them. The fleeting images of ghastly creatures in the mist, the sounds of wolves and other unknowns beasts did not chill his bones.

A howl great and ominous brayed through the forest floor seeming to come from all directions. Adami leapt towards Jeno and stood behind him peeking over his friends shoulder wide eyed with fear.
"Tell me...... you heard that one right?" Adami's usually calm and calculating voice quivered.

Jenovan smiled to himself as his plan formed in his mind. He straightened his back with a jolt and stood frozen staring off into the distance, His breathing slowed and came uneven. This did not help his friends sensitivity to the current situation.

" What is it?........ Jeno......What is It?....." He spoke these words barely holding unto his deep tone.

Adami gripped Jenovans shoulder and shook him lightly trying to jerk and answer from him. Jenovan slowly turned moving his eyes with the turn ( Like a zombie would do ) he bent slightly and Adami followed suit. Adami's Brown eyes focused hard on Jenovans Icy blue's trying to see reason beneath the horror stricken gaze.

Once again in a harsh whisper Adami spoke.

" What is It?"

" RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRR!!!!" Jeno bellowed without warning as he lunged at his friend in mock play.

Adami didn't even scream but just held in his breath and staired blankly at Jenovan. For a long moment he remained in this poise until finally exhalling. When he did so he regained a bit of his composure and continued forward muttering something under his breath Jeno couln't quite catch.

Jenovan followed Adami keeping only a few paces behind him, trying to keep the image of pure horrorific expression out of his mind. Small half muffled laughs accasionally errupted from Jeno but all in all he kept himself from laughing out loud.

An hour passed without either of the companions speaking, only their foot falls brought the reminder of each other. Without warning Adami Froze and looked about as if he was close to something he was looking for.
" Adami!....... it's only good once friend! Come on I'd like to reach the valley before night fal..." Jenovan had reached his freind and read the expression on his face.
He felt something Jenovan couldn't feel and was being drawn to it like a moth to flame.

Oooo, I get to control Adrian now!!))

He sat alone in a dark room, fresh blood on his lips. He wanted to laugh and he wanted to cry and it was tearing him up inside, a feeling that none so young should ever feel. They had left, laughing as he had drank the sweet red nectar and he had cried and they had laughed some more leaving him alone, confused.

His small hands clenched. He wanted to cry out for mother, to curl up and sob and never relax till he was once again in her arms...but dignity was so easily lost and then they would have won this round...

He frowned at the room and some of the sparkle left his eyes, which had once held all the world in wonder.

"They will come for me," he said harshly into the silence, though, for the first time in his life, words rang hollow of their meaning. Still, there was hope to cling to and he did, his small fists guarding it, protecting it...

The last hope of lost innocence.

((OOC: And no, Ontarys, you don't get to find "it". Not yet. hehe.))

Silver flashed over the mottled green that surrounded Thôrlanthas ((The Pride of Temeras--I finally named the city)) as Pan sped back along his original course. Kiri sat, still and silent, on his back. He didn't speak to her, knowing she had a harsh headache from grieving.

The mage, of course, sensed this. "It's okay...there's hope, right? Right, Pan? We'll get him back, we'll find out why..." She stopped and Pan flew on in silence.

Upon reaching Ayeka's house, the griffon landed and allowed Kiri to slide off his back and compose herself. She had to look just right, not too excited to get Ayeka's hopes up, but not too somber as to offer none at all.

The mage took a deep breath and knocked on the door out of politeness. Alucardt answered, his expression distraught.

"How's Jadrek?" she whispered. Alucardt didn't answer and Kiri nodded in understanding. "And Touga?"

"He'll live."

Kiri nodded again and made her way through the house to where Ayeka sat, clutching to a sleeping Jadrek. Her eyes were red from crying and her expression...Kiri had never seen her friend in such a state.

Her feet whispered over the floor, no movement could disturb the intense silence of grief. She sank down besides her She'Endra and waited for some sign that she had been noticed.

There wasn't one.

Kiri-koli gave a little sigh and leaned over to whisper in Ayeka's ear.

"The token...the little stone...it's not on the puppy, it wasn't in the forest, not in the Valley... it's gone."

BIC:
The mists parted suddenly as Jenovan rushed into a clearing of a green grass covered feild. Half way across the feild was Adami running at full speed, not wanting the lose him yet again Jenovan continued his race.
Accasionaly tripping on goffer mounds Jenovan eventually gained some ground on his not so physical friend. When Jeno was only a dozen yards away from his freind Adami vanished into a layer of woods.
Without hesitation Jenovan followed, dodging oncoming trees and a dense brush. He was taken by suprise when the trees ended and he stood stairing at a small city.
Before the citys gates sat Adami bent over breathing harshly, the run had taken alot out of him. Walking to meet his freind Jeno smiled and spoke in gasps ( he himself was not that good a sprinting)
" Why run if we were so close? No matter, now we are here and you can prove this foolish attraction of yours."

Lending his freind his arm he helped Adami stand, they both gazed at the arciticture of the buildings with awe.
They walked through the streets which seemed to lead them towards a solitary building, which Jenovan made out as a temple.
As they approached the temple he looked around and his gaze was captured by a single female, her hair shimmered in the sun light and even from this distance Jenovan could see her emerald eyes. She wore silver robes that only intesified her physical beauty as they wrapped about her slender form. He smiled to himself as she dissapered through a doorway thinking to himself
" If beauty such as this exists, I may yet die a happy man."
Remembering he was walking Jenovan just barely avoided a merchant hauling a load of wheat and other grains. He laughed at himslef as he said sorry to the merchant and continued on. 99 bottles of beer on the wall.

Jithalas walked through the dusty streets, absently studying the unfinished buildings. They represented hope to the elf, and seemed to agree with nature, both in function and beauty. As an elf, he really respected this and respected Master Kiri for creating it...

He sighed. He was worried about the Master, worried what the students would do without her...he was also worried about Ayeka and her husband. Jithal didn't know them personally, but the Master did and that was good enough for the elf.

Something was wrong. Very wrong. And the elf didn't like not knowing. But that would have to wait.

Jithalas, as the highest ranking student, had the responcibility to greet any new students entering the Valley now... Normally, Master Kiri welcomed them all, prefering to be the first to meet them but as she was indisposed...

There were two of them...Jithal blinked. He was aware of the Stone only calling to one...an older one, but one nonetheless. What should he do? Send the extra away? What if he wouldn't leave? Which one was the one anyway? The elf swallowed hard and took a deep breath. He forced his expression to be welcoming, even if a little cold.

He stopped before them and bowed low. "Welcome. I am Jithalas," the elf paused, and his mind blanked. He had absolutely no idea what else to say to these strangers.

"Come young adrian will you not let me show you your true anture? How long will you fight what is only natural for you. I can teach many ...............many things. Fear not of what you have yet to learn young one."

Taryn felt confident he was winning the young adrian over. Instead of hostility and cruelty, he treated the child as if he were his own son. He knew this was the way he would break the child, to break him down and to mold him in the image he had envisioned. He knew that the turning of ayeka's own son would hurt her more than 'true' death itself.

He knewhis silver toung, laced with promises of grandeur and undiscovered delights would eventally wear the impressionable child down, all he had to do was be patient.

Adrian looked blankly at the ominous figure of taryn finally beginning to wonder at what he could see. He figured if he played his cards right he'd find a way to escape. But another part of him didnt want to escape. That other part of him replied o taryn "W w what canyou show me?"

Ayeka Heard kiri dimly. Her mind a jroil of turmoil as she fumbled to find a reason to this horror. Jadrek woke slowly. He opened his lavender eyes and looked at his mother. He realized what had happened and tears formed in his eyes.

He turned in his mothers grasp, to hug her close to him. His mind spun in on itself, searching for the presence of his twin. Adrian? brother? where are you??? He called.

------------------------

Adrian flinched suddenly, he could feel his brother...sense his thoughts vaugely....he heard Jadrek call his name. "Jade??" He mumbled softly, using their pet name for his older brother. Adrian pulled back his hand. "No..." he mumbed, turning away from Taryn. I don't care what he has to show me...He took me from those who love me...he took me from my mother! Jadrek!! he called back his eyes screwed tightly shut.

------------------------

Jadrek opened his eyes. "Mother!! Adrian is alive!!" He cried, actually laughing with relief...He heard his twin's voice, heard him call his name. "

"We can try to track hiim down mom!!" he cried smileing.

Ayeka blinked, as Jadreks words sunk in. "Jade? Hon? how do you know this?" She asked softly. Jadrek smiled. "Mom...we have a link...kinda like how you and Jenna have...its had to explain....we've always been able to find each other with out talking to each other...I can find him mom! I know I can!"

Ayeka stared at her son for a moment, her hand smoothing back the Platinum waves away from his eyes. "Oh Jadrek honey!!" she cried, hugging her son. "we'll find Adrian, I know it." She murmered as she held him close. What cost your pride?

A flash of anger shot across the face of taryn as adrian pulled away. Impulsivlet he firmly grabbed the young child's arm and pulled him closer to him. "There will be a time when you must come with me if you are to survive."

Quickly gaining his composure he let go as adrian backed away, "This will be harder than I anticipated. Nonetheless he will bend to my will"
"Forgive me for my outburst, its just that I truely want whats best for you. You must know that if you dont feed you'll die. If it suits you, tonite you may stay in, Shandra will attend to you while I am away."

Shandra, taryns new mate walked into the room adorned in a simple white gown and a diamond necklace of untold value. She was already rather fond of adrian as it was, now was her oppurtinty to get to know him better. In life she hadnt been able to have her own child. Now.................was her chance.

Startled but confident that his brother would find him adrian tried his best to envision his surroundings so that jade would find him. He looked warily at Shandra as she sat languidly on the ancient sofa and twiddled her fingers in a golden goblet, licking her redsatined fingers with interest.
He figured he'd get out of here................and she'd be his way out.........

((OOC: Yeah...passing out on something a lot less solid is preferable, right? *wink wink* Lol :).))

Kiri-koli stood silently, forgotten. She didn't mind, hope lit Ayeka's eyes as she gazed at her son.

Personally, the mage was glad that Jade had come up with a way to find his brother. There was a lot less risk in such unknown magic as a bond between twins than activating the stone. The bond between siblings was strong...suddenly she blinked back a small tear.

Might as well go get it, she thought. Confident that she wouldn't be missed, the mage left the house and stepped into the streets. Life was going on outside without her, the sun was shining...she sighed. A dark aura seemed to follow her, pushing back the happiness that vibrated through the Valley.

Her house was just down the street and she walked there in a daze. Entering her garden and then her front door, she summoned her study and opened the small chest that contained a stone identical to the one that Adrian clutched in his small hand.

Gripping it, the mage walked back into sunlight and started back down the street. Abruptly her eyes found Jithalas. Of course! She had forgotten, a new student was due today...

But there were two strangers talking to Jithalas. One looked as if he had been summoned, curious and eager...the other...she met his eyes and a small warmth lit in her soul. Suddenly the sunlight pierce the darkness of her mind...

Shaking her head, Kiri resisted her urge to go meet that man. She had bigger problems and she trusted Jithal to handle it...

Starting towards Ayeka's house with renewed purpose and a clearer mind, the mage reached her front door and keyed the magical lock she had set there long ago. Waiting for it to click, she glanced back at the man. He was, unfortunatly, out of sight. She sighed, a sigh that caught in her throat. Green eyes peered out of the shadows...she blinked and they were gone.

Closing her eyes and rubbing them till she thought they would stop playing tricks on her, the mage stepped through the door. Alucardt was there, looking pale.

"We are going to find him," she said abruptly, her tone suggesting not simple reassurance but a plan in the making. He nodded and followed her to where Ayeka was sitting as Kiri had left her, clutching Jade as if the boy were a lifeline.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jithalas bowed deeply to Jenovan and then dismissed him. The other, Adami, was the one who had been summoned and needed answers first.

"That strange feeling you mention is the Summons of the Stone of Temeras. It calls to those of balance and a pure passion for learning...I regret that Master Kiri, who usually meets all knew students, is busy at the moment..." he blinked and suddenly looked as young as he was. "However, I am sure you can meet her soon."

"Jithal?" The elf turned and saw Loyn, a young human, standing a bit in the distance. The elf smiled.

"Loyn! This is a new student, Adami and this is...Jenovan." He pursed his lips in thought. "Could you do me a favor? Show Jenovan to the Inn?" He turned to Jeno. "If you will excuse us? I have to talk to Adami as a potential student." He stopped nervously, worried that the human would protest.

Loyn smiled and took Jeno's hand. She couldn't have been more than 10 and was lost in her silver robes. "Shall we?" she giggled.

Jenovan was taken back by the young elfs gall, sure he was not drawn here, but his reason for coming is no less important.
As the elf began explaining Adamis attraction Jenos eyes wandered about the lively streets.
His gaze was capture by a sudden blur of blue, a small blue bird had leapt from a roof top just a ways down the street.
He followed the birds flight and was suprised when just a few feet away out of a door came the same beautiful lady as before.

Her black hair hung about her neck and shoulders freely, she wore silver robes that seemed to dance across her form. She blended with the serene atmosphere like a rose admist daisy's, he couldn't look away even though he knew it was rude to stare.
Seeing her turning to look towards them Jeno with cat like reflexes returned his gaze to Jithalas. He swore he could feel a warmth come over him as she examined Adami and himself, feeling couragious Jenovan turned his sight back towards her.
His Ice blue eyes meeting her sparkling emerald greens, he did not flinch as they made eye contact and he saw that neither did she.
Warm heat filled his chest and made him feel light headed, her face was so delicate almost elven in perfection.

As if on some cue a human child appeared at Jenovans side, her tiny hand grasping his without a second thought. Jenovan could see Jithalas was trying to get rid of him casually.
He also noticed the look of uncertainty plainly laid out on the young elfs face, he must be waiting for my approval? Jeno thought.

" Please, take your time." At this Jenovan gestured towards Adami.

" I'm here on behalf of the Conclave and my time is a most important thing, I hope your master will be free to speak with me soon . We have important matters to discuss, after you are done with Adami please let your Shalafi know I'm here.
I will go now with Loyn to the Inn." He looked down at the high spirited youth and returned her bright smile.

" Shall we m'lady?" Jenovan spoke this with a thick elven accent.

He was suprised when the tiny girl jerked him forward with strength he did not see her having. As they went along she pointed out buildings and spoke of freinds and family, finally after about twenty minutes they arrived at the Inn.
The sign above the door said " The Restless Heart " interesting name Jeno thought as he entered the building.

((OOC: A special beautiful girl? *glances around* I'll let you know when I find one. Lol.

And yes, it was rather good before I deleted it. *sighs...feels arrogent, sighs again* :):P:)))

Jithalas sighed in relief as the representative for the Conclave left with Loyn. He trusted the young human to handle Jenovan, she was both strong physically and mentally, especially for her age.

Turning back to Amadi, the elf attempted a smile. "Mages here learn at their own pace...you may go out and learn from your own mind and potential...or take classes that the Master holds...or have a one on one with her or any of the other students. We are open to everything, every possibility without limits...which calls to a certain type of person. You must be that type. To learn here is a great opportunity...we ask only one thing: that you leave your prejuices outside this Valley and outside your magic," he said, imitating Master Kiri as well as he could.

"There are temporary houses where you can stay...most students consider it a test to design and make their own dwellings when they feel they can. It is up to you. Any family, possessions you would like to bring in are welcome...we have a number of people who live here, though they are not mages per say..." Jithalas dropped off and started walking towards the Temple. It was easier to explain things there. He wondered if Amadi had any questions and asked him.

"Oh Nili?" the elf called suddenly, spotting another young student. The elf quickly begged forgiveness for the interruption from Amadi and then turned to Nilianthas. "Please run and give Master Kiri a message. Tell her a representative from the Conclave is here...tell her quick and then leave. Do not stay and ask questions. She is at Ayeka's house."

The student nodded and ran off. Jithal smiled at Adami. "You were saying...?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kiri stood in Ayeka's study, waiting patiently. Or at least trying to be patient.

"Master Kiri?" Kiri jumped at the small elven voice behind her.

"What is it, Nili? And how did you get in here?"

"I have a message from Jithalas...he says there is a representative from the Conclave here."

Immediatly an image of those icy blue eyes entered Kiri's mind. "Where?" she murmured.

"Loyn took him to the Restless Heart."

A wistful smile crossed the mage's lips, despite her current predicament. "Thank you Nili...make him comfortable, the new student too. I shall meet with him as soon as possible..."

((OOC: Btw, thanks for naming the Inn...I was trying to think of the perfect name...))
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Loyn sat across from Jenovan in the Restless Inn, her legs dangling above the ground she just couldn't reach. She sipped her drink, a sweet concoction and then looked hard at the Representative. He returned the look with his icy blue eyes and she spoke.

"I'm sorry the Master can't meet you yet...but you have to give her time. As valuable as your time may be, there is a crisis going on and it demands her attention," the young human said with all seriousness.

Jeno laughed. "And what crisis is this?"

Loyn looked him square in the eye and said, "I can't tell you. Any other questions?" "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

" I can't tell you. Any other questions?"

The serious tone in the young girls voice was shocking, and didn't suit her at all. Jenovan wondered how such a young girl could be so mature.
This question brought to mind all the hardships of his youth, answering his question before he could.

" So she is the creator of this valley? Why did she make this place? Why does she hide it from the outside?" His voice was soft and thoughtfull, he saw her facial expression change as she contemplated the correct answers.

Btw means 'by the way'.

Adami...he can just phase himself out, reappearing every once in a while as one of the students and if the Conclave wants him back...there'll be problems there, of course. If you want to write him responding to Jithal, you can, but that was more of an information let-the-audience-know thing. So it can be ignored with no problem. :P))

Loyn looked at the stranger with new respect at these questions--from his tone he was truely interested and not just because the Conclave had sent him here to find out.

She, of course, knew the answers to his questions. She was a quick study, for a 10 year old, and loved learning about history--particularly the history of the Valley. She launched into an explanation, her young voice filled with curiousity and passion.

((OOC: Sorry but now you have to listen to the whole history as me and Thorn just figured it all out today. :)))

"The Valley has a long history, much more complicated then you think. It started with the Order of the Silver Robes...you know, the ones that draw on all the moons? Well, one of that Order discovered a magical artifact called the Stone of Temeras--there are seven, actually--and it discovered him, in a way...

The Stone had been sleeping for many years, but awoke for this mage, because it deemed him to be openminded and so passionate with magic that his skill reached beyond...well, anyway, it opened up to him, and the mage could feel its magic and use it. It told him to create the first Valley of Vanished Moons so that the Stone could call to those with the same feel for magic. The mage went before the head of his Order and asked for their permission and their secrecy. They gave it and it was never spoken of again. The Valley thrived in this secrecy.

Some time after that, Master Kiri's parents were traveling just outside the Valley with their newborn child and her older brother. They were attacked and killed. The children were brought to the Valley by Majie, who was the Master at the time. They grew up there, learning of the ways of the Stone.

Now, the Master's mother had a secret. She was part vampire. The Stone and Majie knew this and hid these traits in the children. But somehow the information got out and one of the mages, a mistake made by the first Stone, went crazy! He, and one other bad guy, destroyed the Valley." Loyn's eyes grew wide. "Some say he had help from Tahkisis..."

"All were killed except Kiri and a few others. They're dead now, the others. All of them. Fate lead Master Kiri through life with her griffon friend, Pan, till she meet her best friend, Ayeka. Ayeka is a half-vampire too. Master Kiri had been traveling with Ayeka for some time, having adventures and such, when the magic that always kept her vampire traits down vanished. Another quest and long story later, she found another Stone and with the help of Ayeka and her family, she came here and started up the Valley again!"

The young girl finished with triumph in her voice and a large smile. Then she scowled at Jeno, though her eyes laughed. "Obviously if the Master wanted the Valley to be a secret forever, you wouldn't be here!""I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

Jenovan listened to everything the girls siad impressed how much she could recall.
When she had finshed the waitress had arrived with his ale, taking a long deep drink he once again met her gaze.

" I must say little one, you are quite amazing. I know twenty year old men who can't recall the story of the Fall of Istar. " He paused to let her smile and giggle in self approval.

" So your master revived this valley. She must be a great person to dedicate her self to you all?." When he said this Loyns face changed to a solem respectful expression.

"Yes she is a wonderful women, I owe her so much and she asks only for me to learn." Her voice was soft and full of reverence, like the tone one uses when speaking of their mother.

Taking another swig of the ale Jeno glanced outside the nearest window, outside he saw beautiful trees swaying in the gentle wind.
A couple held hands on a bentch, staring of into the distance as if the world moved and they stood still.

" You say she is half vampire?" His tone was deeper than before and had a hint of interest.

"Yes. Does that bother you?"She spoke cautiously.

" Not at all, infact I've always wanted to meet a Nasveratu, the fact a vampire can sustain a entire magical valley is very interesting." This he said half aware of the childs suspicious eyes whatching him.

" I can't wait to meet her." Jenovans voice raised as he spoke this, as if covering some unwelcome thought.

((OOC: :) I probably would have fainted or something...lol!))

Kiri-koli nodded to Ayeka and knelt down before Jade. The boy trembled with excitment and an eagerness to find his brother.

"Shhh..." Kiri said softly. "Calm down, Jade. I'm going to help you get to him..."

Reaching absently into her pocket, the mage drew out some Dust with one hand and the stone with the other. Placing it on the floor, she motioned for Jade to sit near it but not to touch it.

The boy did so, his eyes wide as she spread the Dust out on the floor, creating a gold and silver Circle around him and a pure gold Circle around the stone. She linked the two, all the while muttering words he didn't understand.

The Dust, which looked untidy on the floor, responded to her words and formed intricate symbols that glowed with inner light. The magic complete, Kiri looked at Jade, her emerald eyes boring deep into the boy.

"Think about him...think about where he is, what he is doing, feeling..." she murmured.

Jade closed his eyes and clenched his fist, calling out to Adrian. Brother! Brother, I am coming! Think about me, Brother! he thought.

A faint whisper on his mind responded. ...Jade...I'm scared, Jade...get me away from here...

"He's scared," Jade cried out, a cry that was echoed by Ayeka.

"Just a few more seconds," Kiri said urgently. Jade continued to concentrate as the light faded and the Dust vanished. "There."

The mage reached forward and picked up the small stone. She handed it to Jade and as it reached the boy's hand it started to glow. A small sliver of light formed, pointing north.

"A compass..." Ayeka breathed.

Kiri nodded. "A fairly indetectable compass. We'll start out tomorrow. Jade needs to rest and so do you." She placed a hand on her She'Endra's shoulder. "We will get him back, but chances are that much higher if you get an hour or two of sleep first. And only Jade can work the magic. He's exhausted."

Adrian kept his cool as he and Shandra made thier rounds. He'd thought about simply trying to ditch her, she being only newly turned. It was quite possible that she wasnt in tune with all of her powers. He knew she would be much of a problem to ditch. But........in the back of his mind he felt the piercing gaze of Taryn. "They look rather tasty dont they Adrian?" A faint smile on her lips and an almost burning glare in her eyes showed her obvious anticipation of what was to come. She had the same tastes as Taryn. Ayeka nodded, and returned to the master bedroom, where she lay down silently on her back... The rage and fear played havoc with her soul. She turned on her side and felt Alucardts hand on her shoulder. She leaned back into his strong arms, and she sobbed silently in his grasp.

Alucardt sighed as he held her tightly. She had stopped crying and huddled now in his arms. He sensed suddenly of another near, and he heard a knock on the door.

"Come in Touga..." he said softly, as Ayeka stirred. She opened her eyes and looked at her brother. "Touga...." she murmered weakly. He smiled reasurringly at her. She stood and flung herself into his arms. He whispered comfortingly to her. "Its alright Little sister...we'll get the person who did this...we'll find Adrian...I will search for him too...I feel as if this where my fault...if only I had taken more precautions."

Ayeka looked up at her brother. "No Touga..don't blame yourself...there's no way you could've known." She said softly. She stumbled as she tried to stand on her own, but in allowing Jade to feed, she had lost alot of her own strength.

Touga frowned at her, and took her by the arm. He gave Alucardt a look of brotherly possesion, and led Ayeka from her rooms. "Come on...you will have to feed if you think you will have any chance to find him. Don't worry, I know of a Villiage a little ways down from the valley...You'll be able to use your magics to take only what you need, and keep the human alive..." Kiri-koli hurried through the dusty streets of Thôrlanthas. She had much to do and little time to do it in. There was an hour, two at most, before Ayeka would get anxious and insist on leaving.

The mage loathed to leave the Valley right now...everything was so new, so unfinished...but she trusted that her students could handle themselves. And there were others that she didn't know as well, families of the students, people who had stumbled across the Valley and decided to stay...they, too, would help maintain order while she was gone. And there was teleporting, she could come back and check on them.

But there were other problems...mainly the representative from the Conclave. Dashing off as soon as he had shown up would not make a good impression...but it couldn't be helped. Ayeka, her She'Endra, was much more important than any politics. They had been through so much together, she thought, recalling the day they had met...when she had almost killed Ayeka in blind rage...only to save her life in the next chaotic moment...

((OOC: I just reread the original Nightstalker last night and damn, did we do a good job. Haha))

A connection had bloomed that day, an understanding and sweet friendship that would never die...she hadn't known then why or how, only that she would give her life for the other and that Ayeka would do the same for her...

And then later, finding the Stone and the chaos that had occured, her mistaken identity...Ayeka had not only saved her life, but her very soul.

But now Ayeka's life have been torn asunder. And poor Adrian...

The mage sighed. She felt stretched, and only a day or two ago, life had been exact what she had always dreamed it would be...and when she found out who had done this... ((OOC: >:) You a dead man, Ontarys!))

"Master!"

Kiri turned startled. She had walked right past where she had been headed. She turned. Jithalas stood in the doorway of his house, his features twisted with concern.

The mage attempted a smile. She didn't like seeing him stricken. He was still too young for that.

"You're leaving, aren't you." It wasn't a question.

She nodded wearily. "There is something very important I must do...I don't know how long I'll be gone...I'm leaving you in charge of the students."

Jithal nodded solemnly. "And Mylaka?"

Kiri pictured the cheerful owner of the Restless Heart. "Yes, I shall talk to her about keeping order in town...but I don't think it will be a problem. You can hold classes if you wish, or offer the opportunity for others to share their knowledge...stay away from the more powerful spells and books. You know which ones I mean. Make sure the students don't get lazy in my absence."

The elfchild nodded again and Kiri placed a hand on his shoulder. "You'll do fine," she whispered.

"I miss you already," he whispered back. She blinked. Jithal was an orphan as she had once been and she remember saying those words to Majie whenever she would leave to do anything...

"I will come back," she said firmly. Not like Majie, not like her brother. "And everything will be fine when I return." She gave a real smile and asked about Amadi, the new student. The elf, looking brave, said that Amadi had wandered off with one of the human girls, who had offered to give a tour.

Kiri nodded. She wouldn't bother him. Besides, he was a Tower mage. He would be fine. Then, reluctantly, she asked about the representative.

"As far as I know he's still with Loyn at the Restless Heart."

Kiri thanked him and turned towards the Inn.

Loyn stood as the master entered the commonroom at the Inn, her young face beaming. The girl looked in her element, handling problems. Had her mood been better, Kiri would have been tempted to laugh.

She smiled slightly at her student and then looked at the mage. He had stood when she entered the Inn, his icy blue eyes watching her every move. She stared back into them and after a few moments, had to remind herself to speak.

She bowed. "Hello...I am Kiri-koli, eldest mage of the Valley. Welcome to Thôrlanthas. I am sorry I was forced to keep you waiting, but I had matter to attend to that simply couldn't wait."

The mage flinched. She sounded so cold and distant, not herself at all. She wondered if sorrow reflected in her bright green eyes and gave a small sigh.

A low seductive chuckle could be heard somewhere in the quiet village, easily passed off as two young ones up to playful endeavors no one took notice......

Shandra had enjoyed her encounter with the couple. They were so fresh, so delicsiously healthy that she could not resist. She took her time as they chatted under the moonlit sky about town business and gossip. Adrian sat stoicly beside her feeling a terrible sadness as he knew what would be their fate. A single tear slide down his face as he tried desperatly to keep his morale up. "They will find me..........I just know they will."

The young woman saw that the young child was distraught. She reached out her hand to stroke his head and in that instant she let out a low squeal and her face was one of utter suprise and pain all in one as two piercing teeth punctured her neck. She struggled only breifly as she felt her life passing before her. Two blood red eyes gleamed at adrian as he watched Shandra viciously hold her deadly clamp on the helpless young woman. The womans companion stood in shock as he watched totally unbeileving of what was happening. He turned and ran into the woods hoping to escape a similar fate. Shandra carlessly let the woman fall and whispered "I love it when they run." She gave a questioning glance at Adrian as he stood as if unperturbed by the brutallity of the site before him.
"You may finish her off adrian I will have the other. Take care that you do not try to flee.....there are many things that are dangerous in the night."
And with that she was one with the shadows as she prsued her helpless victim in waiting.

At first disgusted by the site of the now mangled young woman Adrian could not deny his own hunger. "I shouldnt feel bad......I didnt kill her." Quickly he took what was left of her and decided it was now or never.
"If I can just find somewhere to hide, or a house where someone will take me in i'll be safe til mother finds me."

A loud shreik could be heard in the distance "guess she caught up with him." Adrian ran in the opposite of the outcry hoping to find shelter. Escape the only thing on his mind he paid no heed as two yellow eyes followed behind, gaining on him with every step...........

Shandra returned to find Adrian was not there. "Little brat, I told him to stay put. I'd better find him before.......before Tyrel does."

Adrian was stopped cold in his tracks as an extremely powerful hand gripped his shoulder in midstride. "LEMME GO!!!!!!!!" he shouted as he turned to look at his capture. He recognized Tyrel immediatley, 'your the one that kidnapped me. Please.....just let me go."

Tyrel laughed as he stared menacingly at the young child. "You have caused us all too much trouble. I dont know why Taryn thinks your so special. And Shandra........you might as well have her on a string. Well im TIRED of it! I'll snap your little neck and that'l be the end of it. There is so much more that I should be doing than keeping an eye on a bothersome child like you."

Tyrel effortlessly raised the young child face level with himself with one hand. I'll tear you from limb to limb and blame it on the wolfnari that occupy some of this land. A perfect plan, then I will first in Shandra's eyes and soon I'll rid yself of Taryn as well." He pulled adrian close enough that his canine teeth grazed his neck, a small trickle of blood made its way down the side of his neck. "And now young one..............time to die."The magic of the mind is within you all. Do you have the power to harness it?

Ayeka released the young man, and closed her eyes. Her ragged breathing eased as the blood coursed through her system. She reveled briefly in the pleasure that passed through her like a shockwave.

She opened her eyes and looked at the man’s unfocused eyes and a pang of guilt hit her. She had once sworn to never take innocent blood without permission. She clenched her fists, and shook her head sharply to dismiss the guilt. Adrian...She had to find him....At ANY cost.

She looked back at the man and lay him down on the ground. She pit her lip enough to produce a single drop of blood. She brought her hand to her lip and then stared at the drop that gleamed on her finger tip. Gently, she smeared it on the wounds that she had caused. As she watched, the wounds healed.

“Listen to me stranger...do you hear me?” she asked softly, her voice a bare whisper.

“Yes” He replied just as soft.

“you’re tired...You need to sleep”

“I am Tired...I need to sleep...” he repeated.

“when you wake, you will remember nothing, you will think that you passed out from the heat.” She whispered, her eyes shimmering a soft silver.

“I think I passed out from the heat...” He said.

“good, no go to sleep.” she stood. the man closed his eyes and slept.

Touga faded out of the shadows. “very good sis, I didn’t think you had it in you.” He laughed. Ayeka shot him a pained look and turned away. “Knock it off Touga...I’ll to whatever it takes to save my son...Lets go...”

--------------------------------------------------

Nightshade snarled, as her Yellow eyes locked onto the Human who held her Vyusher'Sedrin Nephue-cub. She lept forward, fangs bared, knocking the human over. Nightshade stopped at that, and stood protectively over Adrian, snarling.

--------------------------------------------------

Jadrek snapped awake as Kimari, Adrian's cub started to howl. Sunari joined in her voice twining with her brother's in harmony. Jadrek opened his mind to her, and felt his brother even more strongly through the wolves. He saw him too!! The vision was distorted, and fuzzy...but there he was...and so was another man. Tall, thin, and hard-featured...and there was a woman there too...

Suddenly the connection was cut. "dang it!! Adrian!!" he cried, clenching his fists in Sunari's fur.

-------------------------------------------------

Ayeka stumbled as the Packsong washed over her...she sensed Jenna and Billy standing back as Nightshade attacked someone...

She steadied herself against her brother and looked at him... "we have to hurry...Nightshade found him!" she took of running, straight back to the valley.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

Furanthas stood as Loyn did, a gentlemen at heart he paid his due respects.
Unlike most curtiuos gestures Jeno didn't regret this one, for before him stood a beautiful lady.
Her green eyes staring at him with a hint of sorrow, an emotion he knew to well.
He matched her gaze without effort his Ice blue eyes whatching her graceful form.

Her smiled politely as she introduced herself, he could hear impatience in her tone. Suggesting she would rather be some where else doing something else.

" I have waited longer for less, besides we all have had those kind of days." He said this with a slight chuckle.

Seeing the suprise in her green eyes Jenovan smiled brightly, knowing he had thrown her off guard.

" I'm Jenovan Dumont. A pleasure to meet you." At this he bowed low in proper measure.

" As you know I'm here on behalf of the conclave. I want you to know now that I'm a open and intelligent man. My questions will be straight forward and fair....." The speech he had worked on for the last two days was cut short as he noticed Kiri's attention wandering.

" My lady. If this matter of yours is of life and death please do not let me keep you. Infact if my assistance may help I'm at your survice." Kiri suddenly looked at him with a searching gaze, as if he knew some dark secret she would have remain a secret.

" The conclave won't mind waiting another day or two..." He laughed at the end of his sentence.

Ayeka ran, her speed greater than that of her brother. Touga watched his sister with pride...he knew that she would not stop till she found who had her son...

Once the got to the valley, Ayeka ran towards Kiri's home. "Get the Horses ready! You and Alucardt will need them...Wake Jade! find the cubs!" she shouted as she dissapeared down the small road.

Touga nodded to himself, and ran off in the opposite direction.

---------------------------

Ayeka ran into kiri's home, nearly slamming into a pair of her students. She caught one before he fell. "Were is Kiri?? Tell me!?" she cried, the panic rising in her voice.

The sudent blanced at Ayeka's verbal attack. "S-Sh-She's at the I-Inn!" he stuttered as Ayeka relesed him, and ran back out side. She made it to the inn and rushed inside, calling out.

"Kiri!! Nightshade found him! Hurry! We have to go! there's no time!" she cried, her eyes still holding their Golden cast, her teeth esily seen in her state of distress.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

"My lady. If this matter of yours is of life and death please do not let me keep you. Infact if my assistance may help I'm at your survice."

Kiri looked sharply at Jenovan Dumont, her emerald gaze trying to read his soul. She had considered bringing along some of the students--the more magic the better--but none of them had enough training, experience...she could feel the definate aura of power around Jeno and he was a red robe...could she trust him?

His icy blue eyes stared back at her and he quipped something she didn't quite hear. His tone was flippant but his eyes...

She decided to trust him...after all the Stone would not allow a threat in the Valley...he was of the red robes...his eyes...

Enough! she thought. Stop trying to justify and make a decision!

"I do require your services," she said firmly, her tone descisive. "if they be offered. A friend of mine...her child was taken by someone...we don't know who. We...she...has plenty of enemies and...if you would accompany us in this quest to rescuse Adrian, I would be in your...the debt of the Conclave. I will answer the questions when I can and..."

She cut off abruptly as a wave of excitment passed over her. A split second later, Ayeka bust into the Inn, shouting something about Nightshade...

"Hey, Ayeka! Slow down! What now?"

"Nightshade has found Adrian!"

A smile flooded over Kiri's face and she let out a yell of pleasure. Ayeka stood beaming, though edging towards the door. The silver robe took a second to study her friend...something wasn't right. She was full of energy and, faintly, Kiri could feel a familiar feeling of bitter esctasy coming off her She'Endra...the mage shuddered at the memory. Who had Ayeke found to feed on?

She lost the thought as her friend started dragging her out the door. Kiri beckoned to Jeno, making hasty introductions and mentally calling to Pan. The griffon was in front of the Inn in no time, having been waiting for something like this.

"Hmmm...this is no good..." Kiri muttered. Pan could only carry two people with any semblence of speed. "Ayeka, I'm going to change...Pan can't carry us all and that way Alucardt can come with us. I don't think Jade should come right away and be put in danger..."

Kiri saw Jeno raise an eyebrow and grinned to herself. Time to put on a show...

She swirled her silver robes about her lithe body, readying her mind for the magic. Her robes spun not as cloth but as liquid silver from where it spread to her skin...the transformation was beautiful...a dance of shimmering color as a sliver of moonlight...

As the magic was completed, before them stood not one but two griffons. One, Pan, was his usual gold and silver...the other...primary feathers shone as obsidian, bringing out the soft emerald of the secondary...

All aboard... she whispered in Jeno's mind, watching Ayeka climb up on Pan. With liquid grace, the two magical creatures took to the skies..."I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and
I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Jenovan had little time to compliment Kiri on her transformation.
Hopping oddly on to her/it ( sounds bad with her LOL ;) ) they took to the skies. The wind dashing against his face bringing cold tears to his eyes. With the hem of his robes he wiped them away, tossing the hood over his head he kept his face low.

" I've never flown by Griffon before! It's much more agile than any dragon!" This he spoke through his mind.

" Usually I don't jump on a lady I just met but this is a unique situation." He said this yelling against the howl of the wind.

Looking towards the other griffon he saw the two riders casting him dark stares. A chill ran down his spine at the tought of Ayekas fangs finding his neck.

Tis better to have loved and lost.

Ayeka settled and leaned back to Alucardt. He wraped his arms around her and held her close. He whispered something and she smiled weakly at him. He smiled gently back at her, then looked up at the necomer. Aluardt frowned, he didn't know this human... and he didn't exactly know why Ayeka's She'Endra would invite him to come along.

Ayeka looked at Jenovan oddly...she didn' t know why he was here...but if Kiri trusted him...that was enough for her...pitty be his if he should step between her and adrian or the one who kidnapped him.

--------------------

Touga Reined in Ayeka's horse, NightHeart. Jadrek was nestled in the saddle in front of him. He patted the mare gently. "Alright Jadrek...ready?" He asked. Jaderek smiled and nodded, though his eyes reflected his fear. The Jadrek's cub was nestled into the small saddle back behind Touga, and the pup whined softly..

"Its okay little one...we'll be able to let you out soon...we need your link with Jade to find Nighshade..." Touga murmered softly, and he slapped the reins against NightHeart's neck. The Mare Reared and lept forward, leaping into a fast, Ground eating Gallop.

-------------------

Ayeka rested, her head against Alucardt's shoulder. She sensed Touga with Jade and the pup Sunari...They had NightHeart, and where following closely.

"Hold on Adrian...We're coming" She sent strongly along the packsong...hoping that Nightshade could pass it along to him.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

The wolf nightshade stood protectively next to young Adrian snarling menacingly as Tyrel approached. "Foolish dog! you are nothing to me."
Taking a step forward to finish what he had set out to do he let out a sharp yell as he looked down at his chest. Blood flowed freely from the long wooden stake that protruded from his blood stained chest and torn shirt. A gasp of pain and a look of suprise belied his fear....... fear that after all this time........he was going to die.

"You are a fool Tyrel. You dare betray our master? He who gave you the gift of life after death? You dare go against his will?"

Shandra slowly lifted her hand to rest firmly on Tyrels shoulder as he gasped and writhed in agony. Pushing him to the ground he shattered into dust upon impact. A stiff breeze removing any last trace that he ever existed.

"You disappoint me adrian. You could have died tonite. You must keep your senses, why would you escape from someone who can give you all that you could ever ask for? W w why would you want to leave......me"

She recieved but a cold stare from adrian and a snarl from the strange wolf as her reply. What she didnt know what that adrian had felt a pang of compassion for her. 'Had she really cared for my well being?

She sobbed lightly as she held him close, ngihtshade seeing that she would not harm him permitted her to do so without inerruption. " Come we must return before Taryn, he will want to know what happened to Tyrel............and what almost happened to you."

............................................

Taryn sat angrily at the head of his ancient table in his dinin quarters. He had seen all that had transpired, suffice to say he was not pleased. " I willpunsish them both for their foolishness..........."

"I wont be able to keep him hidden much longer........they risk too much in going out alone." Eyes blazing red he smirked as he saw the vision of the two returning stealthly through the night back to his palace.
"I have a plan..............The magic of the mind is within you all. Do you have the power to harness it?

Adrian shuddered inside as Shandra hugged him. Nightshade growled and stood, her yellow eyes locked on Shandra...while her ears where cocked towards Adrian.

Adrian blinked and stared back at the black wolf. "Ni-" he stopped short, unwilling to speak the wolf's name. He stared at NightShade and smiled slightly. He turned from shandra..and hugged NightShade tightly. Nighshade whined softly and licked at his face.

Jade hurry! please...get me away from here! he sent frantically. Nightshade yipped and amplified the message on through the packsong.

----------------------

Ayeka blinked, and tensed against Alucardt... "Adrian?" she breathed. "The packsong...Adrian's voice is being carried by NightShade's.

Ayeka took a deep breath and called out to her son.

Adrian?? Its mom... She called, her voice boosted by Alucrdt's and powered by Jenna and Billy.

For a few seconds she heard nothing but the howl of the packsong. then..faintly...oh so very faintly...

Mom??? Came adrian's sweet voice.

Adrian!! Oh thank the gods! We're coming...we know where you are...but you must tell me hon...this is important...Who did this?? Ayeka cried, her voice ripping through the packsong.

Adrian's voice came even softer still. another Vampire mommy! He said his name was Tayrn!!

Ayeka blinked, her son's words came like a physical blow. she clung to Alucardt in desperation...Tayrn....

" Oh Gods no....not him...Alucardt! Taryn has Adrian!" she cried.

Adrian felt his mother withdraw, with the promise that they where coming...they would get him out of there. He hugged Nightshade even closer and shied away from Shandra's touch.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

The excitment in adrian grew as he finished contact with his mother. Up until that point he wasnt sure if he'd ever escape his captors. Although thankful that Shandr had just saved his life he wanted desperatly to be with his mother once again. "Just a little longer...................hurry..."

Noticing that the young child was shying away from her Shandra turned on her heals and spoke "Come.........we must return before Taryn tonite." With inner determination she decided that anger would not be the best way to win the child over. Proceeding as if nothing had happened she held his hand and began the trip back to the lair when a huge figure emerged from the darkness.

"I am Bertil, Taryn has sent me to escort you back to the lair."

Nightshade growled menacingly at thelarge wolfnari clansman. Standing defiantly next to adrian he made it clear that he ws staying with his master.

Shuddering slighty Shandra consented. She never felt comfortable around wolfnari people. Their huge frames and wolflike appearance always unsettled her. Adrian did not fair any better, he held Shandra tight as he had never seen a wolfnari clansman before.

In the back of the young childs mind however.....confidence reigned. Soon.........mother will find me......I put a chill up your spine like an eskimo.

Ayeka lept off of Pan and ran through the woods. She caught sight of several shadows off to her left. Alucardt ran swiftly behind her. She heard growling and immediatly knew it was nightshade. Ayeka broke through the brush, Alucardt right after her...both had their swords drawn. Jenna and Billy also joined in.

Ayeka spun on the girl trying to guide Adrian, while Alucardt turned to face the Wolfnari. Ayeka's eyes gleamed gold, her hair falling loose around her.

"Give me back my son you bitch!" she hissed. Nightshade tried herd Adrian out of the way. Ayeka raised her sword agianst Shandra, only to be knocked over by another Wolfnari.

---------------

Adrian clung to Nightshade, as he watched his Mother being knocked over by one of those odd Wolf creatures. "MOM!" he screamed. Trying to run to her, but nightshade growled, and grabbed his sleeve.

--------------

ahead, Touga heard fighting...and he spurred NightHeart to go faster...

--------------

Ayeka hissed at the wolf-like creature as she rolled out from under it. her sword was covered in blood...she had managed to drive it through it's leg. "I am warning you! Give me back my son...and I will not harm you!" she hissed, her eyes fading from gold to silver.

Quickly she dodged and slashed at the wolfnari, her movements almost too fast to trace. the Creature fell...she turned to face the woman again, only to be confronted by another Wolfnari.

It seemed as if wolfnari were everywhere, one would be wounded or slain only to be replaced by another.

"Give me back my son you bitch!"

Shandra laughed amidst the chaos as she spoke......"He is MY son now........you'll never get him back"

Ayeaka made a dash for the two, she knew that Shandra was no match for her. Before she could get any closer she was confronted by thebig wolfnari that had been sent to escort adrain and shandra. Wounded from the earlier encounter anger filled his mind as he attacked.
Howls and yelps could be heard clearly in the night as alucardt fought to make his way to ayeka.

Ayeka fought desperatly to reach her son but the wolfnari ws proving to be a worthy adversary. Although quiker than the large wolfman she flt every blow that he was able to land. Anger and frustration welling inside her she decided not to hold anything back........

OOC: you decide how you wanna rid yourself of him lol.

Seeing her chance to flee.....shandra held adrian tightly and tried to make her escape her escape. "She will have a hard time getting through those wolfnari. IF she makes it."

Shandra paid little attention as nightshade followed silently behind...........they may have gotten away this time........but he was gonna make sure he didnt lose his master ever again. I put a chill up your spine like an eskimo.

((OOC: Hm...I seem to have gotten a little lost...:)))

Kiri flew just behind Pan, straining her ears over the wind to hear anything new from Ayeka. Jeno shifted uncomfortably as she banked around a small bird. He started to say something but was cut off as an anguished cry floated back, carried on a sympathetic wind.

"Oh Gods no....not him...Alucardt! Taryn has Adrian!"

Kiri swore loudly, though only Pan understood her. Taryn! It can’t be! He was banished…I’ll kill him, I swear to… she raved.

Kiri, wait! Pan shot back. He doesn’t know…

Kiri barely caught these words. Anger seethed through her veins and she found that she could no longer fly straight. Losing altitude with every passing second, the black griffon pitched forward, and attempted a shaky landing that was successful save for that Jeno couldn’t quite hold on and fell into a large bush. Kiri paid the mage no mind and started transforming back to her normal shape.

Kiri, no! You have to stay that way…we can use it… Pan’s voice—he had landed up ahead and was helping Ayeka fight—penetrated the haze that clouded her mind just enough that she let the magic bleed away.

A low rumble sounded in the woods, as a primal beast stalking its prey. Moments later they emerged, a people that the mage had only read about—the Wolfnari. They surrounded her and started their approach.

((OOC: I really can’t believe you brought them into this but what the hell…hehe.))

Kiri scoffed at them. She had no plans to stay on the ground long enough to be attacked. But a moan stopped her in mid take off. Jeno! He had been knocked unconscious in the fall…torn between staying here and going to help Ayeka, Kiri hesitated just long enough for the first beast to attack.

They slashed at her with razor sharp claws and she tore back with her hawk-like beak, all the rage she had welled up inside at Taryn and these beasts, at how they had shattered her and Ayeka’s life with their petty need for destruction and chaos…the griffon waded through the Wolfnari, and for a second, almost forgot that she was human…

The cry of a griffon, echoed by another rang through the woods. She couldn’t hold them off any longer, they were everywhere, ripping and slashing…but she was determined to fight to the end, even as the ground ran red with spellbound blood…

OOC: sorry Stacey!

BIC: Ayeka struggled with the Wolfnari, Jenna yipping and snarling, trying to help her mistress. Ayeka's silver cast eyes where narrowed, but through all the tears she couldn't see the other Wolfnari coming up behind her.

The huge creature lunged at her, knocking her over. She Screamed, a scream of sudden Pain and Dispair. The wolfnari Snarled, and Ayeka's scream was cut short.

--------------

Adrian struggled, trying to see his mother...then he did....just as she fell from the Wolfnari's attack. "MOTHER!! NO!!" he screamed, putting all his strength into fighting against Shandra. "She's dead...She was no match for the Wolfnari...and therefore...Not worthy of you, young lord." Shandra soothed as she picked up the struggling child.

-------------

touga reined in NightHeart. "Stay here!" He said sharply to Jadrek. the boy nodded solemly at his uncle. Touga ran up to the odd colored griffon and drew his sword, he kept the last of the Wolfnari away, his sword slicing easily through fur and flesh.

"Kiri??" he cried, looking back at the black and emerald griffon. "Its alright..." he shouted as Alucardt killed the last of the wolfnari.

-------------

"Ayeka!?" Alucardt shouted, the pain and worry in his voice evident. "AYEKA!!" He cried, as he held her close to him, she was barely breathing, the wounds slowly seeping blood...she was still alive...but just barely.

"Don't you dare do this to me!" he cried. Touga ran up to them His white shirt tattered and stained with blood. Jenna whined and nudged her mistress, and sat back her eyes solemn...then she threw her head back and howled, the grief ripping through the gentle grey waves of the packsong.

Alucardt held her close, his eyes focused on her face...noticing her eyes as they opened slightly. With a quick motion...He slashed open his wrist, allowing the blood to flow.

He brought his wrist to her mouth, watching as she swallowed slowly. Mouthful by mouthful.....He looked up.

"I can keep her alive for now...but she will need human blood soon..." He said softly, his eyes locked on her. Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

((OOC: Hm...so did we win against the Wolfnari?))

The majestic griffon winged down to the ground, and landed beside Ayeka, concern shining in his golden eyes. Alucardt didn't look up, his gaze solely on his dying love, but he managed to say once again that Ayeka needed human blood if she was to survive.

Crouching as low to the grass as he could get, Pan tipped his wing and motioned for Alucardt to carry the woman up and set her on his back. The ride would be bumpy, but it was the easiest way to get Ayeka over to where Kiri was fighting.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Kiri-koli tossed one of the Wolfnari back into the forest, but they kept coming, their low growls ringing in her ears, but barely heard over the pounding of her own blood as her heart struggled against the tide that flowed from her wounds.

"Kiri??"

Relief flooded through her consciousness, bringing instant hope. Gathering her magic, the human griffon ignored her pain just long enough to enact an explosive sphere that sent the Wolfnari flying into the trees with many a sickening smack. Touga waded in with his sword and finished off the last of the Wolfnari who stubbornly came forward.

Well, that was fun... Kiri muttered faintly in Touga's mind as she sank to the ground, weak from loss of blood.

Shandra and adrian made their way bak to Taryns lair as swiftly as possible. Adrian as if comatose followed almost mindlessly behind her, hope gone........distraught at the apparent death of his mother he didnt care where he was being lead to know.

Upon arriving at the lair they were greeted by a grim faced Taryn. "You know.........they have discorverd hid capture, they will come for us. We must leave shortly."

Adrian burst out in tears and shouted "SHE'S DEAD!!!!!!! That that wolfman killed my MOTHERRRRRRRR! NO.......NO.....NOOOOOOOOO!"

Taryn only stood, outwardly unfazed.....this could be to my advantage that he beleives ayeka dead. Taryn knew full well that there were'nt enough wolfnari there to kill her or the others with her. "They were but pups.....someone must have gotten a lucky strike in"

Shandra held adrian closely as he bawled uncontrollably. Taryn quickly got a few things together and prepared for what would be their first move. "We must leave at once.......The wolfnari will not be happy that ome of there pups have fallen.....they distrust vampires as it is. They will be bloodthirsty for revenge. It would not be wise to be in their way. I am sure that touga and the rest havnt seen the last of the wolfnari..........that should giv us the time we need to move on."

The three departed the large home and never looked back........the heat from the burning lair gave an erie glow in the still dark night.

"Not a trace of our being there will be left."

Adrian followed..........nothing mattered anymore......his mother.........was gone.

I put a chill up your spine like an eskimo.

Ayeka held tight to Pan as he tried to take her over to Kiri...her She'Endra. The moment Kiri neared, Ayeka thrashed, fell off of pan and tried to get as far away from Kiri as she could possibly do in her weakened state.

Alucardt caught Ayeka and held her in his arms. "Kiri no!" He shouted, keeping her away. "She could kill you in this state!" He said, holing his one arm out to keep her at a distance. "Lucky enough that she is councious enough to keep herself away from you...but If I can't find someone soon, she will either kill you, or pan, or even our guest here...Keep away from her till I return!" He turned, and walked over to Jadrek, and lifted his son off of the Horse. "you stay with your uncle and help keep your mom warm okay?"

Jadrek looked at his father, his blue/violet eyes wide and haunted. "Yes Daddy..." he said softly. Alucardt swung up into NightHeart's saddle and spurred her on, heading for the nearest town.

Touga took Alucardt's place in holding Ayeka. She had closed her eyes and was again unconcious.

--------------------------

Alucardt droce NightHeart mercilessly. Once he reached the town, he asked directions to the town's dungeons. he walked up, and pounded on the door. the Captian of the city guard looked out, his eyes narrowed at Alucardt, suspicion glinting. "what do you want?" He growled.

Alucardt smiled charmingly and walked inside, uninvited. "I want one of your prisoners...one you have sentanced to death...." Alucardt said simply. The guard started, his eyes wide. "You want what?" he said incredulous.

Alucardt frowned, impatient. "Did you not hear me? now do as I say!" He hissed. his eyes held their gold sheen, and the guard stumbled back. "Okay Okay!" he cried, grabbing the keys. "Who are you? I'll hold you responsible if he escapes to kill again!" he shouted.

Alucardt smiled. "Lord Crane...at your service captain...and I assure you...he will not escape....he won't survive to see another sunrise." the guard backed away, and quickly unlocked the main door to the dungeons.

Once they had gotted to the last cell, the guard said, "well, here he is Lord...I trust you can handle him?" Alucardt said nothing, but unlocked the door, and walked into the cell. the man was haggard, but with a burly build. Before the prisoner could utter a single syllable, Alucardt swung his joined fists, clubbing the prisoner against the temples...and the man fell.

Alucardt picked the man up and walked out of the cell. he tossed the captain a bag, from which could be heard the tinkling of coins. "Your compensation my good captain."

the captain watched after Alucard, surprize lighting up his face.

Alucardt swung the unconcious prisoner over NightHeart's shoulders then swung up into the saddle.

-------------------

Touga held his sister tight, now and again giving Ayeka a little of his own blood...keeping her alive..till Alucardt came back. The thunder of hooves and A proud Neigh heralded Alucardt's return. He swung from the saddle, dragging an unconsious man with him. Kiri eyed Alucardt in alarm. the other man looked positivly sick.

"He's a convict...he's a murderer, and a con artist...the world is better off...and from the jails that I picked him up from...his death now will be much gentler than what they had planned for him." Alucardt growled. Ayeka moaned softly, her breathing becoming ragged. Without another word, Alucardt dragged the man over to her. he took his knife and slashed the man's wrist. Ayeka stirred as the blood touched her lips, her eyes fluttered open...and her eyes wheren't the liquid silver or Gold that Kiri was used to, but Blood red.

Ayeka moved with lightning fast reflexes, and with a feral cry, bit down into the man's throat. as they all watched, Ayeka's wounds closed, her eyes cleared, the blood tint was gone..they where silver now. In the next moment, she pulled away from the man's body...sobbing.

Alucardt caught her...wiped the blood from her lips. "Shhh...it's alringt...we have to do whatever we can to save adrian....don't blame yourself for that low-life's death...what you dealt to him was much more gentle than what they had planned for him in that town.....

Ayeka continued to sob...her tears fell in streams, her sobbs wracked her frame...she cried for her son...the man she had just killed, she cried against her very nature.....Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

The fog of darkness lifted and Jeno sat up in reflex. Sounds of battle and feirce beastial growls, pain filled yelps split the air. All he saw was blackness, stupidly he pulled the hood from his eyes. As his eyes took in the sorrunding he saw Kiri and her friends huddled around Ayeka.

Standing slowly he wabbled as he moved towards them. Tripping more than once over the mutalated remains of massive wolf creatures.

OOC: Sorry Fury! as I stated in my last post, Ayeka would've killed whichever human tried to donate blood to her...in the state she was in, she wouldn't have stopped once she started...;)

So Alucardt helped by going to the next town, and by paying off the captain of the guard, brought out their worst criminal, knocked him unconcious, and brought him to Ayeka...

((OOC: Lol. Sounds like you people are having fun. :)

Reminder: I need my no-win situation at some point.))

Kiri-koli, still a griffon, had not the strength to cry. She wanted too...she wanted to do a great many things. Change form and comfort Ayeka...cry out into the cruel sky...take off and soar after Adrian...ripe Taryn's throat out (>:))...but she didn't feel up to doing anything of these things at the moment and so she had to content herself to lay in the midst of a battlefield soaked not only with blood, but unending sorrow.

Behind her, soft footsteps announced Jeno's awakening and relief, however sortlived, penetrated her gaze as she met his icy blue eyes. Her emerald orbs then turned to Ayeka and she winced as her She'Endra cried. She knew what the half-vampire was going through, forced to take that of another to live, and it pained her greatly to see anyone suffer so, but especially someone so undeserving...

Pan, who had taken to the sky to get out of Ayeka's way, landed near Kiri and supported her, his lovingly soft feather tickling her pain, chasing it away. The mage leaned against her childhood friend and was accosted by a terrible thought.

Where to go from here?

Jenovan saw the sorrow imbeded deep inside Kiri's eyes.
Emerald admist sparkling tears of clear, he wished he could say some words to comfort her, but what could he say.
She was as new to him as he to her, yet still his heart ached in response those shimmering emeralds.

"Would she turn from my voice?
Could she let herself be comforted?" He thought.

Thinking back to the day he lost his best friend, Jeno could say now that he wished someone would've comforted him.
With measured steps he slowly moved closer to Kiri carefull not to disturb her.
As he came to her side the other griffon looked warily towards him.
Seeing no bad intentions in his eyes and no cunning in his soft smile it allowed him to approach.

" Kiri-Kori. I offer my shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and a heart to weep with you.
If you will except these from a stranger?" His voice was low and calm, and he could see her relax a bit at his words.

He remained standing next to her, his Ice blue eyes held only concern and compassion.
In his very soul he wished he could take her pain for his own, to leave her with nothing but joy.Tis better to have loved and lost.

Kiri-koli closed her eyes, trying to calm her breathing as she listened to the concern in Jeno's soaring voice. How long had she known him? A day, two days? It might as well have been eternity.

The crisp air, riding on a calm breeze, entered her lungs and she felt the magic melt away till it was just her, always her, hidden within...

Emerald met the ice of sapphire and a small sob bubbled. She fell forward and cried on his shoulder--literally--keeping her tears as silent as possible. After all, Ayeka didn't need to be any more upset than she already was...

"Aunt Kiri?" A small voice registered and the mage looked up into brave eyes. Jade held up his hands and opened them to reveal the Stone, still pulsing with magic. His voice trembled but his young face was set with determination. "Can we go get Adrian now?"

Ayeka stirred, as she heard Jadrek's voice. She opened her eyes and they focused on Alucardt... "Alucardt?" she muttered, her eyes still a little unfocused. He gently traced a line across her cheek. "Shhh...It's alright now...we'll find him...don't worry." he said as he helped her stand. NightHeart nickered and nuzzled her mistress. Ayeka clung to the big horse.

She turned to Jadrek. "Its okay hon...We'll get him back..." She muttered, and pulled herself up into the saddle. "they cant be f-far from here..." She stuttered, still a little weak.

Touga rested his hand on NightHeart's reins. "you're too weak sis, you can' t go like this...they will kill you for sure..." Ayeka moved sharply, and tapped NightHeart's flank, making the mare dance sideways. "I am going...weak or not...That is my son...and I will save him...or die trying." she snarled, and slapped NightHeart's reins against her shoulders. The mare reared, and lept forward, casing everyone to step back.

"If you must go, We're going with you.." Alucardt said firmly as he swung up behind her before NightHeart bolted. The battle mare shifted under the weight, then lept forward, her hooves thunder in the night.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

Ayeka dozed to Nightheart's even gait. Alucardt held her tightly, to keep her from falling off. She came to with a start as Alucardt reined NightHeart in.

"what? what is it?" She asked, suddenly alert. She looked around, to see a broken camp, only the smoldering fire was left behind. "The where here...and not that long ago..." she muttered, As her Violet-blue eyes scanned the forest. "Keep your eyes open...someone could be near." she whispered.

NightHeart's Ears twitched and she snorted. Ayeka tensed...someone was here... She drew her sword, and rested her hand on Alucardt's arm, so that he drew his too.Oh, Moons of Mercy, Moons of Light

Seven Years have Past...Ayeka, Alucardt, Touga, Kiri, and Jadrek have searched in vain for Adrian...Ayeka cries in frustration for her lost son during the night...Jadrek blames himself for the loss of his younger brother... Alucardt and Ayeka have grown apart a bit due to Ayeka's bitter loss..Touga alone in this battle turns to Ayeka's Sh'Endra for comfort...his feelings open to this girl who he once tried to kill.

Touga walked into Kiri's foyar of her home...He was weary...and had just returned from a month long ride in search for his younger nephue. "Kiri? are you there?" He asked softly. He turned to see her seated at her desk, littered with all manner of books and parchment. She looked as weary as he felt. "sorry to interupt you silya (a word meaning high statured lady) I have just come back in...and would perfer to report to you than see the dissapointment in her eyes again."

He sat down, and rested his head back on the chair. His face was paler than usual, and had a smudge of dirt on one cheek. his long red hair was tossled and windblown...he sat forward and rested his head in his hands. "this is hopeless...."

-------------------

Jadrek stood on the balcony of his room. Syla, the cream and grey colored wolf stood at his side, her miss-matched eyes searching for his. Jadrek had his long platinum hair braided back, only a few loose waves fell into his eyes. His twilight eyes searched the horizon...and his mind searched for the link that he and his twin had...

the link they did have...untill two years ago...that link was strong...they had almost found him...then that link was cut...severed as coldly as a knife through a silken thread. Tears shimmered in Jadrek's Blue/Violet eyes and he wiped them away hastily...he was thirteen, crying was for babies...

--------------------

Ayeka stood on her balcony...her twilight eyes filled with rage as she glared at her mate. "come on honey...you can't keep blaming yourself for this!" Alucardt cried, pain evident in his amber eyes. Billy stood at his side, As jennah stood by Ayeka. "I had him...and he slipped from me...like a ghost...that...that Creature took him from me in spite...all because i ruined his plans some deal he had with my father...This Is my fault...if I hadn't..." She began to sob.

"If you hadn't...Lord Drache would have killed you...and Adrian and Jadrek wouldn't be alive right now...be thankful that they live... You can steel the band from the Cooper hands

It had been quite an eventful night for adrian. Taryn had taught him a great many things these past few years, and his teachings were just now beginning to make since to him.

When he was first captured he had been rebelious, resentful. He was afraid, ithout his mother or his twin, all he wanted was escape. But Taryn changed all that, he told him he was only doing what was best for him, that ayeka was not letting him realize his true calling....supressing his bloodlust his rightful dominance over humans as vampires were a superior race. TSlowly he started to beleive it til, now..he didnt want to beleive anything else. The past was the past.........now......he enjoyed the hunt, the look of anticpation and at the same time the pain of his victims, the smell of fear, the art of seducing his prey, many times giving themeselves willingly.

And in his mothers place came Shandra. She had truly grown to love him, they would often go out and feed together. She spoiled him to no end. And this night was no exception..................

The soft light of lunitari shown brilliantly in the still night as adrian and shandra sat perched high atop the castle walls. They could see for miles in every directon as a chill wind blew carrying the low moan of a loan wolf in the distance. Shandra frowned as she looked upon young adrian with mock disgust "Why adrian you were sloppy tonight. Look you have a spot on your shirt." Adrian could only shrug as he looked at her in mock sorry "She tasted so good i just couldnt help myself mother. Will I be punished?" Unable to supress a laugh he giggled as Shandra tapped his nose. "Come adrian we must have everything in order for when Taryn arrives, he will be here shortly after his meeting with the wolfnari cheftains."

"Father will be pleased, I am glad he chose this castle its big......much bigger than our last lair. Still from what i hear the owner was an important baron of solomnia. Wont his ummm untimley death as well as that of his so tasty daughter cause an uproar? Not to mention we are taking overhis castle." Shandra only laughed "What can these fools do to use? They are like cattle to do our bidding. One day we will rule the world. orry not abot the people Taryn will deal them as he see's fit, and the wolfnari grow tired of the solomnians and their persecution, they will ally with us."

A grey wolf moving swiftly through the woods caught the sharp gaze of Adrian........memories, emotions welled inside him with the sudden flash back of his own brother and his brothers wolf. And in that moment he kew his brother was thinking of him............and just as suddenly as it had came......the memory was gone. "The past is long forgotten.........our paths shall never meet again." Without a second thought he folowed Shandra down the winding stairs........."Time to make this our new home...........""So what is it? Do you just flip a coin in the morning to decide what you will be for the day? Heads Knight of Neraka Tails Solamnic Knight :D"

Jadrek kept his hands tight on Kendras's reins, the black Stallion raced on, as Jade's hand clenched on the lightweight sword in his hand. Only thirteen and nearly as good as his mother with a sword. He raised his sheild as a blast of flame hit it.

Jadrek strugled under the blast, but held steady. He kept his sword in his lap, and lowered the sheild long enough to cast his own, his fingers to his lips, he said the words clearly and carefully, and as quickly as he could....a lance of Ice appeared above him...and shot forward...only to be shattered by his mother's sheilds.

"Good Jade...not bad..." She said, sending another shot,...this time of lightning that sprang from her hand.....it collided with his sheild, and he was knocked from Kendras's back. The Stallion reared, and turned, heading back for Jade, just as he was trained. Jade landed easily, tumbling to land on his feet. He had his sword in hand, and sheild held ready.

Ayeka appeared from his left, her sword held low, meeting his sheild with a solid Thunk. Jade winced a bit from the impact...and brought his sword up...Ayeka dodged and Jadrek smiled in admiration at his mother's speed. He dropped the sheild, and feinted right, left, then came straight at her. Ayeka's eyes widened as she met his blow, her attention caught by the sword, she didn't notice the spell he was casting. Flames circled her, and she cried out in surprise, but her sheilding held, untouched by the flames as they died.

when she cried out, Jadrek neatly disarmed her....and he stood there, both swords in hand. Ayeka looked up and smiled. "Good....touga taught you that one didn't he?" jadrek noded smiling. He turned from her as Kendras returned to him. Ayeka took this moment....and reached for her elder son...her silver dagger in hand. Jade cried out in surprise, as he found he couldn't even struggle in his mother's grip. she held the flat of the blade against his throat.

"Never turn your back on an enemy...even if you think they are well contained..." She hissed softly in Jadrek's ear. "Yes Mother..." he said, shaking suddenly from the sheer power his mother possessed. Suddenly, He heard a snarl...and they both fell. Syla had his mother pinned..and was panting happily, looking up at them with her mis-matched eyes.

"Not bad...but Jadrek..If I had been a true enemy...that welt on your neck from the flat of my blade....would have proven to be a disabling wound....I wouldn't try that move again..." Ayeka said, as she pushed Syla off, and stared pointedly at the red welt on Jadrek's throat.

Jade blushed as he rubbed the welt. "Yes Mother..I understand." Ayeka sighed, and hugged him. "come on...Let's see what your aunt Kiri is doing." she said as Jadrek reached for Kendras's reins. You can steel the band from the Cooper hands

Than see the disappointment in her eyes again...meaning you would rather it was I that had that honor...

Kiri-koli leaned back in her chair and closed her emerald eyes. Her slender fingers spread out along the smooth surface of her redwood desk as if she wished to dig in with her nails; a semblense, perhaps, of control or stability where there was none. She didn't like Touga's tone, nor the way he was looking at her. She could feel it...his eyes...his soul lain bare, as if strung out for her mercy...their relationship had always been one of sarcasm and teasing--after all, they had both wished to kill each other at one point or another and you don't get over that in a hurry--but in the last few years--dear gods, years!--their comfortable situation had dissolved as he had needed more and more of her help through the sorrow...

I wish...I wish Jeno was here, she thought, glad that her eyes were closed, lest they betray her longing. Her on-again, off-again relationship with the red robe had been put to the test over and over...and he had remained supportive through everything, even when she had pushed him away. I am going to marry him, she thought suddenly and managed to stifle a small laugh.

But not now. No, now Jenovan was off doing the job she couldn't. They say that pain get better in time...and Kiri-koli wanted to know just exactly who they are, if only to give them a piece of her mind before ramming those words and any other pearls of wisdom they might want to offer up their...

Her She'Endra was falling apart, slowly and quickly, and she could feel it. Touga was looking at her like that again...Alucardt was straining to keep his marriage intact and Jade...poor little Jade...a mere 13 years old was having his heart laid out for him on a silver platter of guilt on a daily basis.

Sometimes, I almost think it would be better if Adrian were just dead.

A small gasp escaped her lips and the mage quickly clasped her hands over her mouth. She felt herself flush and Touga was giving her the strangest look...

I can't believe I just thought that, her mind whispered. She wondered if she was going to cry. I mean...oh, gods...Jeno, please...

"Not hopeless," she forced herself to say, trying to outwardly compose herself even as she blinked back tears. It wouldn't do to fall apart, not now. She could be something stable, if that's what everyone needed, she could...even if Jeno and Pan were running the Valley and her eyes betrayed the calm set her of her jaw...even if she wanted to scream that he was right and this was pointless and that all their lives were being ruined..."There are always possibilities. We will find him," she said, reaching forward to squeeze Touga's hand, though she regretted the action for what it might mean. She tried to give a reassuring smile as well, but couldn't really tell if it worked.

"So tell me, what it is you wish to report...other than your pessimistic outlook," she chided gently. "And try to remember...a 'nothing new' report means nothing but a test of our persistance..."Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms munching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Touga sighed and offered Kiri a rare smile...not a smirk...but a true smile. "Persistance is the one thing in our favor..." He chuckled. "well I found the ruins of an estate south of Solamnia...It was burned to the ground...just like the others..."

He stood and paced a bit....nervous energy that he couldn't seem to be rid of... "Nightshade said that she could smell him...and her pup...I couldn't understand why lanka would run that day....till now. Their bond was strong enough that she didn't want to stay with us...she wanted to return to her Master....Adrian. I fear what that man is doing to him...The sense I am picking up, is that Adrian isn't the innocent he was..."

With a sigh, he sat back down, his head bent. "The information I tried to gather is small...the only thing of concequence is that when we fought the wolfnari seven years ago...when Ayeka was nearly killed by one..." He trailed of and cursed Vehnmently. When he looked up Kiri could see the sudden tears in his eyes...but he stared past her....as if he couldn't even see her.

"Tayrn told Adrian that Ayeka was dead...and that woman we saw Adrian with...she has taken Ayeka's place as his mother... Gods damn that creature... Adrian thinks his Mother is dead...and it's all that monster's fault!" He snarled, his eyes flashing silver for a breif moment...before he seemed to collapse in the chair...all fight taken from him. "I don't know what to do....I can't tell her this...It would kill her...." He sobbed. You can steel the band from the Cooper hands

Kiri-koli stared at Touga, watching him sob with a thoughtful emerald gaze. She had expected nothing...a cold trail, a whisper on the wind...but not this, this was new.

And it very well could destroy Ayeka.

The tear-stained memories vanished, taking the weariness with them. She could do something...she could make this better. There was nothing standing in her way. The Valley was taken care of...she had friends...her brother, her love, Pan...and they would see to it that life went on without her.

And what she had moments before precieved as a weakness, her inability to run anything, to escape this limbo, was now transformed. Let them have her responsibilities. They had gladly volunteered and now she had a new job.

"Hope," she murmured. Touga looked up at the word and she met his eyes, ignoring his own tears and his own weakness. "Don't you see? This brings us hope...Adrian is a child, he is being hurt and things are only going to get worse between now and when we bring him home. You said he had lost his innocence...that he has another for a mother...how bad would it be, in the same situation, if Adrian believed his mother to be alive, but having foresaken him...

"This woman...this monster...has made a mistake. She has lied. And when Adrian is shown the truth..." she let herself trail off, glimpsing a flicker of light in the darkness. Her eyes flicked to the door of her study. Her She'Endra was coming. She looked back at Touga, caught his gaze, and held it.

"This is how we will tell Ayeka...this is how it will not destroy her. It is hope...it is the chance for Adrian to heal. He is still young and he will see that the so-called love his "mother" has pressed upon him has been a lie...built on a foundation of evil. And he will see that, and he will come home."Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms munching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Touga blinked as what Kiri was saying sunk in. Just a split second after her, he too sensed his sister and Jadrek seconds before they walked in the door.

Ayeka walked in ahead of Jadrek, her long golden hair tied back in a neat braid. She walked with a more confidence than either had seen in years...she had gone under more training with her magics as well as her swordsmanship. Jadrek walked in just behind his mother his platinum hair a bit disheveled. He smiled at kiri, his blue/Violet eyes sparkling.

"Guess what Aunt Kiri? I actually managed to surprise mother! with the move you showed me Uncle Touga!" He smiled, and Hugged his Uncle as Touga stood. Touga smiled at him and studied his nephue. At thirteen, the boy was tall....about one inch shy of his mother...who was 5'9" He was lanky, but that hid a wiry strenth. Jadrek had his father's hair and his mother's eyes.... a striking combination.

Ayeka looked from Kiri to Touga...her eyes narrowed. "What have you two found out?" she asked her arms crossing. Touga blanched a bit, and cleared his throat. He looked to Kiri and sighed. "I have a bit of news...at first I thought it was bad...but now...thanks to kiri, we have found a bit of hope...."You can steel the band from the Cooper hands
and the rabbit from the cook
you can walk through a gauntlet of far seeing eyes
if you hide as a tree in the wood
you can talk to the deaf and hear from the mute
deception will save where the sword arm fails
if you work with your heart and mind

Taryn entered the dining area quite pleased with the new lair. "At last a suitable place to start our reign. I see you two have had a good time with the........former occupants of the estate." A faint smirk belied his understanding of 'good time'. Blood still lay strewn across the marble floor and the powerful smell of death still permeated the air. "Have someone clean this up soon......and keep them alive."

Adrian sat in an old oaken chair staring into the fireplace relishing in the exqusite delight of his night escaped with the doomed residents of the castle.
He wondered how anyone would want to live other than the way he and his 'family' lived. Everyone feared them, and he could have what his heart desired at a whim.......he could ask for nothing more.

"The wolfnari clans have allied with me....soon i will have all of solomnia under my subjection. I will change nothing.......there is only one i truly seek, and one day, i will find him."

A twinge of anger overtook Taryn as he rememberd the death of lord drache and with him the chance at fulfilling his own personal quest. he was getting his revenge against the perpetrators......more than they could know. But there would only be one true goal in mind......and one day he would fulfill it. In the back of his mind he knew they would never stop looking for adrian........but he had decided that there was no longer a need to stay on the move. he knew.........the adrian they would come to find........would not want to find them. And with that.......his revenge would be complete.
"So what is it? Do you just flip a coin in the morning to decide what you will be for the day? Heads Knight of Neraka Tails Solamnic Knight :D"
