Autumn Silverbow sat contemplating the recent events in her life. Stealing for Knights of Neraka wasn't very fun in her perspective. On her last run, the magical sword she acquired ended up slaughtering her partner in thievery, Ka'lyn Shirkra. Now, her rage for the knights took most of her life away. Nothing would repair the death of her friend except the death of those that killed her.

Now that she was quite sure what she was doing, it was just time to set up the war she was about to wage. Not against the whole of the knighthood, but just those 4 souls who did her the injustice.

She sat inside an inn a few villages away from the knight headquarters she had just ran from. Autumn, being a good judge of character, watched every being in that inn, and made the decision of who to persuade to join her."I find your lack of Pants disturbing."

The door to the inn slowly opened. Walking was a cloaked person. Standing almost a head above others, it was a very tall person. Looking about the person sat down at a table. Apparantly finding the temperature good enough the person threw back the hood.

It was a half elf, a woman half elf. She had stern look in her eyes. She studied everyone in the inn with that look.

--------

Solara looked around the inn, hoping she wouldn't get into any trouble here. The last town had run her out because they feared her for her length. But no one seemed to mind her. Most likely because of the knights that were constantly passing through.

After her food and drink were delivered she paid adn started eating. Never losing a watchfull eye on everyone. Why is it we always forget to keep the good things close to our heart, but let the bad things cloud our mind.

A slim but well muscled young women sat near the door. Her golden brown eyes watching all who came into the inn. She was leaned against the wall as if indifferent to everyone, but her eyes were showing a mix of curiosity and fascination upon all who wandered in this inn. She'd sit here all day listening to all the news and stories she could gather from others. She was young but not inexperienced, her hand rested comfortably on the sword near her. "Gods" she thought her brows creasing, "I need to get out of this damn town" Liana Nigel had lived here all her life always wanting something more. The knight's headquarters were just a few villages away but she wasn't sure if thats what she wanted...to be a part of that.... Liana Nirel of Duryan

As Solara's piercing glare went over her, Autumn gave a curtious smile, hoping someone of her height could help. Autumn twirled her tree-bark hair around her forefinger, gathering the right words to say to her fellow travelers.

-----------

Wynter Firecaster ran to the door of the nearest inn, hoping to find some food and shelter from her chasers. She opened the door and walked in casually. It was packed, but she saw a table near the wall that would suit her just fine. She walked over and sat down, ordering food and a room for the night. She looked about the room, checking all the faces to make sure she was safe. As she found one face in a dark booth down the row from her, her heart beat faster and she gripped the dagger in her black robes."I find your lack of Pants disturbing."

OOC: mind iF I join in? Oh!! Welcome back Ranger!! :)

BIC: Ayeka was sitting in the back of the inn's tavern, watching the newcomers with interest, her odd violet/blue eyes swept each person as they made their enterance.

Ayeka frowned, she wondered what these people where up to...ever since she had split up with Kiri, Ayeka had been running as a Bounty Hunter...Hunting humans who some would have no Qualm against them being found dead... she smiled slightly, slightly exposing her elongated canines. She even had no hesitation if her contracted quarry was one of her own kind.

ever since she had split up with Kiri

So after The Hunt? Hm...split up? That won't do...))

The dramatic entrance of the black robed woman ((Wynter)) signaled rush hour. People streamed into the Inn for their daily drink, taking no notice of each other. In fact, everyone ignored each other so much that it seemed as if they were all of seperate worlds colliding in one bar, looking but not touching, acknowledging but never speaking.

The half-elf ((Solara)), half-vampire ((Ayeka)), woman ((Liana)) and, of course, the seeker ((Autumn--Did I get everyone?)) all gazed around, intent on their study of all others. One by one their strange gazes fell to the fire where sat one who didn't watch anything but flame. They, one by one, were first struck by her hair. It was flame red with orange highlights and seemed to flow as the fire she gazed at.

Giving a small yawn, the figure stood and revealed her nature. She was elven by her beauty and grace, and obviously a child. Still ignoring the rest of the patrons, as if in her own silent world, she turned from the fire and stretched.

A clumsy drunk hit her arm as she stretched and the young elf frowned, her expression revealing her childlike innocence and the fire in her green eyes. She seemed aware of the others then, of the noisy world in which she was a part.

One by one, the others studied her, wondering at her shimmering skin and fiery gaze. As they watched, her hair turned slowly from its flame red to a light brown that perfectly matched the walls of the tavern.

The elfchild met their gazes with unashamed curiousity, but when her eyes met Ayeka's she gasped softly and stumbled as no elf would. Confusion lit wildly on her fair face and she gasped again before averting her gaze back to the fire, which shone off a small silver bow by her side and slowly turned her hair back to a fiery red.

((OOC: I can't remember. Elves are children till they're like 99 right? Well, she's younger than 99. A lot younger but not so young as to not be able to handle her bow or talk to people and understand things. Though she retains all childlike innocence. About what age would you people say that's at? :P))

OOC: It wouldn't be an adventure without you two.

BIC: Autumn gripped her sword tightly at the sight of the changing-hair child. "I don't remember ever doing that in my youth," the elf said to herself. Her eyes went around the room, still scanning her fellow travelers. Upon seeing the black robed mage, her senses went flying and she stood without even noticing. Within seconds, her sword was drawn and she chanted the words she hadn't used in many years to make the poison start flowing. She knew the black robe, and soon a fight would start.

---------

Wynter calmly stood and drew her dagger. Seeing her enemy standing, she had to do something about it. She whispered a spell and walked forward, dagger hidden behind her hand. The mage knew how that sword worked, and she knew it would be hard to beat, but she was a mage. Wynter stopped in front of the elf and slightly inclined her head, honoring her enemy.

"So we meet again, Autumn."

"So we do."

The battle started in a whirl of magic, dagger, and sword.

It stopped just as quickly. Autumn had her knife to Wynter's throat and the mage had a spell and dagger to the warrior's chest. They both knew their danger, but they didn't back off their positions.

"What are you here for, Autumn? Did you and Ka'lyn finally run into trouble with the knights? I knew the day you threw me to the dirt that you would fail."

"Shut up, Wynter. I have failed and Ka'lyn is dead. I'm going to avenge her death and if you wish, I'd like a good elf mage to help. That goes to everyone else in this inn," Autumn said, projecting her voice for the rest of the inn. "If you'd like to get back at the knights, I suggest you join me." Seeing the fight, Solara was curious. Standing up, again showing her full hight, she walked over to them. "It's been a while since I have had a good fight." She said, her intence gaze on Autumn, "I will help you fight them."
She knew she only did this to become known more. People would accept her easier if they heard she defeated the knights. Perhaps she could go into the mercenary business after this. Her life was all about taking the chances that came. This would be an interesting adventure. Why is it we always forget to keep the good things close to our heart, but let the bad things cloud our mind.

OOC: Mind if I join in the story? Hello Wynter...

IC: Tiver stood up from his stool, he had ran out of magic scrolls to hide his elven form, half drunk he stumbled a bit bumping into a very young elven woman. With a smile and a nod to the young elven woman, he walked over to Autumn and Wynter their blades still locked in for the kill. "I really don't think either one of you will remember me, but Wynter and Autumn... I will help you both if need be with whatever. I'm Tiver Neehigh, if the name rings a bell, it certainly doesn't mean much to me any more." His breath reeked of ale, and his stance was swaying back and forth. Though, his eyes still held the playful adventure seeking thrill of the kender he once was.

"So, how about we have a seat, and sheath our blades? Then, we can hear the tales of our pasts, and our new beginnings unless you both what to settle this now? I could see to it that the town is well payed to come to both your funerals." There was a bit of laughter as it took everything for Tiver not to laugh hoping it would calm everyone down.

Tiver winked at the both of them as he glanced over seeing Thistledown, and just as quickly he was there next to the Thistledown trying to trade stories and pouches with the gnomish kender. Tiver felt a bit more peaceful then deciding to not drink anymore for the night."If you think these are the sayings of insane mad man, then you've nevered messed with a kender with a cold." - Me

She jumped out of her chair towards the compnay when she saw they would not kill each other...at least for the moment. She touched the arm of Autumn..."Your name is Autumn?" she said softly even while her eyes danced with excitment. She didn't wait for a reply but continued. "We should all sit down we have already drawn to much attention to ourselves" "It would do no could I think to be locked up in some knights prison" she said sternly. " "You have drawn a few possible companions already, best not to let everyone hear it." The elfchild watched as the fight developed with wide-eyed innocence, then walked slowly towards the group and sat down as everyone calmed. One by one they noticed her once again, having forgotten so quickly. The elfchild blushed softly and then walked closer, automatically gravitating towards the humans--something that none of the elves, even the drunk one, failed to notice. A shy smile in place, she sat down near the one with the wolf.

The strange and beautiful beast, with its mismatched eyes, moved closer to the elfchild, looking rather suspecious. The elfchild smiled and reached down to pat it on the head, her long hair instantly turned a blue-green. "Hello Jenna," she whispered and the wolf nudged against her hand and waged its tail.

Looking up she spoke louder, though her voice was still soft and hard to hear. Her accent was strange, neither Silvanesti nor Qualinesti, nor of any the elves could identify.

"I would be glad to learn of your histories, and aid in your adventures. I, too, am a mage." She looked surprised by this last annoucment and looked down as if she expected to see flowing robes instead of traveling elven clothes. She glanced up with fiery green eyes and blushed again, giving a small smile and a shrug. The elfchild looked around at each of the companions in turn, her gaze settling on Ayeka. She then frowned and seemed to shrink in her seat, falling into a strange silence."I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

Wynter raised an eyebrow at the actions of the elfchild, but quickly put it down and turned to Autumn. "Well, what's your plan, genius?"

Autumn gave the mage a cold hard stare. "There's a secret entrance on the north side of the complex. That's where me and Ka'lyn went to deliver our cargo," Autumn stated quietly.

"Yes, I know that same spot," Wynter replied softly.

The door to the inn opened. A man strode in, his feet making almost no noise on the wooden floor. As he walked, the rapier dangling at his side slapped at his hip. He was quite plainly an elf, for his face was smooth, his build was thin, his ears were sharply pointed, and his shoulder-length hair was the color of the sun. He wore the simple garb of a traveller. When he stopped to look at the patrons of the inn, mischief danced in his eyes. His gaze stopped on the group. He walked over and sat down at a table near them. "If wouldn't be too much trouble, I have travelled long and hard, and am in dire need of some conversation. I shall buy us a round of drinks if you would agree to have a small chat. Oh, forgive me. Tiver looked at Autumn and Wynter since had finished speaking with Thistledown, and trading pouches and such. "The name is Tiver Neehigh once a kender now an elf do to the lack of magical means. I'm a collector of things, and a slayer of dragons. I also own a ship called the Cursing Dwarf, and I'm displeasured by all things undead. Only since my guardian Xander was killed by a evil Lich." Tiver shot a glance at the half vampire though it was nothing more then I don't like you and will grow to hate me most likely glance. Tiver smiled with a nod knowing it was not the half vampire that killed his friend. "Sorry, I meant nothing of that, but I am a good fighter. I am also sure that nothing can can in our way when me a Thistledown put our heads together." A bit of laughter followed from Tiver lips as he was now sobering up.

Tiver's gaze fell on the young elven woman, and he was a bit taken back by her strange beauty. Shaking it off Tiver greeted the bard Jamros with a empty chair. "Hello Friend, rest yourself here if you will, and join us on the adventure that lies ahead. Once we a have a plan figured out?" At the news from Tiver that Xander had been killed, Wynter's breath slightly staggered. Autumn cast a glance over to her but turned and listen to the rest of Tiver's story. Autumn greeted Jamros with a nod.

"Wow, I never knew so many people were dying for an adventure. I am Wynter Firecaster, mage of the black robes. To satisfy some of your curiosities, my powers are not dwindling like some." Wynter never took her eyes from the table and closed them for a moment. Autumn relieved her of the attention by starting with herself.

"I am Autumn Silverbow, theif and Kagonesti warrior. My partner in crime has just died and I am going to avenger her death with the help of these glorious warriors," she said for Jamros, waving her hand to indicate those sitting at the table with them. "Our plan is so far, to sneak in through the theif's entrance and go into the commander's quarters. There, we can kill him easily. He sleeps very lightly. But he is not the only one. There are three others: Taarik Shovik and his two luetinants Diable and Frikan. They will be by the treasury, which is guarded by 20 knights and 2 mages."

The elfchild watched the introduction with typical wide eyed curiousity and then nodded to herself and stepped forward. She stood there for several seconds till she was sure she had everyone's attention. She then lifted a silver, elven bow and indicated Autumn.

"As you can plainly see, I am very young," she started, her soft voice carrying to the corners of the tavern. "but that does not mean I do not know about the ways of the world. You have professed yourself and your dead partner to be thieves and now you ask for our aid in bringing to justice the men who murderered your partner." The elfchild's fiery gaze leveled with Autumn's before she continued. "You wish to punish them for the murder of a thief. Then you are going to steal again. Revenge over an evil deed commited to stop another evil deed is not always justified." She paused and took a deep breath. "However, as things are never a simple black and white, I would hear some reason for this act and then perhaps pledge my bow and my magic to you."

A stunned silence filled the room after her speech till someone in the backround shouted, "Just who in the Abyss are you, anyway?"

The elfchild drew herself up to her full height and then faltered. She opened her mouth and shut it several times, looking back and forth between the elves and Ayeka. She blinked several times and then seemed to come to hard decision.

"I...I-I-I..." she stopped and seemed as if she were struggling to recall something. "I am Vardethalae! And I beseech you all not to enter into this too quickly!!" She now looked straight into Ayeka's violet/blue eyes. "You are quick to judge the men deserving of said fate, though life is full of misunderstandings and lies...as you well know." she finished softly. With a wave of a slender hand, a vague image floated through the air. The crowd gasped and broke out into whispers, though none but Ayeka recognized the image as Touga, her brother.

((OOC: Did anyone else find it odd that we were all so interested in helping a thief without asking too many questions, like was the death nessecary and who murdered her? "Well," Autumn started, locking eyes with the elfchild, "you are quite right. Helping a theif kill the people she stole for is completely unjustified. But, there is a reason, and it is conditions of my theivary."

"The child is right, Autumn, we have no right to go in and kill the bastards that took Ka'lyn's life," Wynter replied angrily.

"Would you shut your mouth, Wynter? For once, listen to me. These aren't the same conditions you stole under." Autumn shot a look that burned Wynter to the core, for it was the same lightning-filled look Wynter's brother gave to his enemies.

"As I was saying, the conditions of our stealing. We never stole from the poor, we never stole from Knights of Solamnia. We stole from the knighthood itself. Magic swords, daggers, steel, spells...everything we stole from the treasary inside the headquarters. Those four corrupt souls wanted the steal from the knighthood to take it over. They were committing treason so the commander, Jurin Resiv, could take over the headquarters. Ka'lyn told them she wasn't going to steal anymore, and since she knew of the operation, they killed her. I am supposed to be on another mission right now, but I don't have the heart to do it." Autumn looked straight into Vardethalae's eyes. "I want to kill them to stop them, and break into the treasary to get the things I stole and sneak them back in before inventory next month. I was hoping it would redeem what I have done." Tiver's mind still swirled a bit trying to catch everything that was said though the ale was fighting not to let him sober up. Tiver had changed quite literally since the last time Wynter had saw him. No longer did Tiver have the magical form of a kender, but now an elf that looked slightly like Xander. Tiver was no longer the wild eyed kender that laughed at even the slightest danger, but now was a elf that hungered for battle. Then again from all that could be seen Tiver had become a drunk drowning himself in barrels of ale.

"Well, Autumn I must admit this sounds like a suicide mission, but I must also say this sounds fun. Just think there was alot of things I wasn't able to see when I found myself wandered through their the halls just a few nights ago." Tiver smiled a bit thinking to himself that now was most likely not the best time to say that.

"Hmmmmmm.... So Ayeka your half vampire? Maybe you have an idea on how to kill a Lich maybe right?" Tiver was trying to changing the subject from him quickly. Tiver knew someone was killed, but just didn't know who that was all. It was something Tiver just happened to hear someone bragging to another person when he was there.

Thalae blinked at the drunk elf. There was some story here but what, the elfchild had no idea. She turned slowly back to Ayeka and time seemed to slow as well as her thoughts...

The room started to spin. How did she know the vampire's brother? How had she been able to conjure up that image? She had no memory of studying magic, though she knew she was a mage, she just was. And the image had been perfect...something someone as young as herself shouldn't have been able to achieve...

Thalae closed her eyes and swayed slightly where she sat. Her memories stood before her, there, complete but...she felt as a deaf person might feel, knowing the vibrations of sound exist because they move her hand...but she cannot hear the sound and therefore it doesn't exist at all.

She clenched her fists and was aware of someone far away shaking her, asking questions she could not answer...she sqweezed her eyes closed till her face contorted with pain, trying to force her way through the shroud that engulfed her mind. An image came, the friendly face of an elf...her mother? It had to be. Around the smiling elf lay forests...forests where? Why did she feel as if she could understand Ayeka's pain, her torment, her conflict?

...what conflict?

The elfchild suddenly felt very small and very alone. She reached forward with a cry and fell into the arms of the nearest person, grasping as a frightened child. She rocked back and forth within that comforting embrace, whispering, "I don't know...I don't know..."

((OOC: Question. If I remember correctly, and I rarely do, wasn't Wynter a red robe? With the Staff of Lunitari? Oh and, btw, I've got a little subplot going (If you couldn't tell :)), feel free to move on with the story. I can do it while traveling.))

Solara watched all the introductions with definite interest. "I am Solara Mydel. I am what most would consider a ranger of sorts." her voice had a slightly Kaganesti accent, "I have no problem helping you. However, i am interested what sort of reward there will be. Will the treasure be split among us?" One could see from the stern look in her face she was not going to just do this for free. Why is it we always forget to keep the good things close to our heart, but let the bad things cloud our mind.

Ayeka blinked in surprise as the elfchild flung herself into her arms. She felt an odd stirring as the child began to cry, saying "I don't know" over and over.

Ayeka wrapped her arms around the child impulsively and murmered softly under her breath. There was something familiar about this child, something Ayeka had an overwhelming urge to protect.

Ayeka looked over at the Kender, Tiver. She had heard his question and nodded absently, knowing that if it came to that, she would Kill what she had to...and her only just reward was the human knights that would fall by her hand. The power to save the world...rests within a Child's Heart

Vardethalae cried herself out and calmed down, her hair a messy tangle of sorrowful blue. She peeked out from within Ayeka's grasp, knowing, somehow, that if she were with the half-vampire, no harm would come to her.

The elfchild watched as small conversation was made and another demanded to know what was in it for the group. Personally, she didn't care, though she had to admit the prospect of magical items was appealing.

She reached into a small pocket and played with an item within with almost nervous energy. Sighing, she gazed at the group with her green eyes and then caught Autumn's attention, her expression asking plainly, "When do we leave?""I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and
I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Liana watched the conversations with intense interest but throughout her brow began to furrow. She pushed the hair back behind her ear revealing slightly pointed elf ears. She sighed inwardly "Never wanted" she thought her eyes showing a brief flick of sadness. Her hand began to slowly grab for the purple stone around her neck and upon touching it a look of stern resolution replaced the sadness. "Well Autumn" she began her bottom lip slighlty pouted as the child in her unconsciously began to show, she was young according to elven standards, "I do not know if you are in need of my services, I know I am young but I am not inexpierenced" She paused and then straightned in her chair " But I offer you my skills as a swordsman and a archer, I also have some knowledge of the woods." She looked toward Autumn with a firm face but her eyes were pleading. "Please not again" she thought, 'I've no where else to turn."Liana Nirel of Duryan

Tiver looked at the group that had gathered for the adventure ahead. Flames flickered in the eyes of Tiver his lust for adventure was showing wildly with the help of the ale that was still in his system.

"Well, it seems that we have gathered each one with their talents to aid in your help Autumn. Do we have the supplies we need to pull this off or should we gather something more? In hope that we have every thing I would think it a good idea before we draw anymore unwanted attention to ourselves then need to be."

Tiver glanced around the tavern seeing a few hidden eyes watching, but nothing of real concern. "I say we leave two or three at a time to keep the talk about gathering as secret as we can to give us a head start, and maybe a surprise on the knights. Does this sound fine to everyone else?" Tiver looked at Autumn and Wynter waiting for the go ahead. "If you think these are the sayings of insane mad man, then you've nevered messed with a kender with a cold." - Me

((OOC: Elven Ranger!! You've disappeared again!))

Thalae left the tavern alone, taking Tiver's suggestion but not waiting for any others to join her. She was anxious to get underway, to do something...anything. The wait was grating on her nerves and her mind and her small fists clenched by her side.

My, my, you're quite possibly the most impatient elf I've ever seen... came a thought in the back of her mind. Thalae looked up in surprise, wondering where the thought had come from. She was impatient...at least moreso than most of the elves she saw, and as a child...

What's your point? she thought back at the voice, feeling as if she urgently needed an answer. The voice said nothing, but the elfchild felt a strange warmth within her pocket. She reached down a slender hand and pulled out a small blue stone. It glowed with some strange inner power and then faded to a dark sapphire.

"Damn!" She stood within a large clearing, holding up torn and dirty robes. They shone a silver in the moonlight. She stared at them with dismay and then began to empty the pockets. Her companion laughed as more and more items emerged ending with a small red pouch.

The woman glared and tucked one annoying bunch of black hair behind one rounded ear. "This is hardly funny," she said, but this statement only made her friend laugh harder as she threw some clothes at her. The woman eyed the ranger-type clothes with even more dismay, sighing heavily as she fastened her red pouch back onto her belt...

Valatae blinked and was back before the tavern, alone. She looked down at her clothes. They were the same ranger-type as had been in the dream--vision?-- but then they were very common and she couldn't tell if they were exactly the same. She peered at them closer, discovering a few extra pockets that she hadn't been previously aware of. Reaching into one on the right, she pulled out a small red pouch...

Voices were coming out of the tavern now and the elfchild realized that the other companions were finally coming out. She glanced into the bag quickly and then stuck it back in her pocket along with the strange blue stone.

"I have everything I need." Solara said bluntly, "I just have some things to take care of. I will meet you outside of town." And with that she walked out, her impresive hight clearly visible.

Once outside she pulled her hood over her face and walked on. Walking past shadows, she quickly ducks into an alley. Waiting there is a small black cloaked figure.

"I'll have you're money in some time." she spoke softly.

"Ah you have a mission." came a his from the figure.

"Yes I do, and it will gain enough to pay you." she responded almost spitting out the words.

"Tell me what the task is." the voice hissed, ignoring her anger.

"I don't have to tell you that. You should be glad I'm willing to repay the debt my father made with you." her voice becoming more agrivated.

"You will tell me, or i will double the price. And we can do more to you than you can imagine." the voice hissed with amusement.

Solara sighed. "We're going to attack the black knights, and steal their treasure."

"Ah yes, that would gain enough money. However, it has come to our attention that they aquired a new sword. A magical sword. Get me that sword, and the payment will be fullfilled." the voice hissed, pleased with himself.

Solara knew that was the sword the thief leading the mission was after. But she had no choice, she had to do this. "Very well, I will bring you the sword."

The figure didn't say anything, and with a poof he was gone.

Solara turned around and stalked out of the alley. She headed for the edge of town, where she would wait for the others. I will have my revenge on them on day she thought as she walked on.
