OOC: Okay, I know I really shouldn’t be starting yet another thread but I’ve been working on this idea for the last hour and I can’t stand waiting so…

This was inspired by Majora’s Mask and some TV show I saw a long time ago. Therefore, I know it’s been done, but I want to see if I, too, can pull it off.

It starts with the awakening of an Agent of Chaos (Demon of Magic). He is incredible powerful and jealous of the gods of magic. So he creates a fourth moon and sends it hurling towards Krynn. (that’s where the similarity to Majora’s Mask ends) The gods cannot directly interfere with an Agent of Chaos and so they choose three people to save the world. Got it so far? :)

Anyways, problem is the moon is going to kill everything in all of three days. So the gods take these 3 Chosen and set up a temporal loop. So they “restart” every three days. Whether or not they know each other before the 3 days is up to you guys but they all start in the same town. (Saepenta)

So we need three people to play the Chosen of the Gods. They don’t have to be specific (i.e. Chosen of Paladine, Chosen of Gilean, ect) and they don’t have to one be good, one evil, ect. They can just be normal people, farmers even.

However, I ask that none be immortal, dragons, time travelers, or anything else powerful enough to kill the Chaos Moon by themselves.

Anyone else who wants to join after people claim the parts of the Chosen (first come, first serve), you can be people who are inside the loop, stuck and not knowing it. They have a routine that is constant unless one of the Chosen interferes. However, as this is very hard to plan, I’m going to ask that any who are not Chosen, email me with your routines so I can keep everything relatively organized.

This will be a long, long, looooong work in progress, so if you join and especially if you are one of the Chosen, you have to willing to stick with it, even if I have to take a break and sort stuff out. If I can pull this off, though, it should be very, very interesting…

Prophecy of Darkness

Darkness looms
Pending forever night
As the Demon wakes

A thunderous boom
A Moon of Might
Every life He shall take

A Goddess cries
An Angel’s tears
Fall from Heaven’s eyes

A world that dies
As mortals fear
No more time for lies

From shapely hands
With dying breath
A heart is saved

From whittled sands
The last of death
A heart is paved

A pure soul
Of Balanced mind
Preserves the Days

From dust and coal
Life shall bind
Light from Darkening haze

Three to find
Three for time
Is Darkness swept away?

This is the Prophecy that foretells the Demon’s coming and how to defeat Him. Someone in the Chosen know it/find it/read it/hear it whatever. Good becomes ignorant.
Evil turns on itself.

The small town of Saepenta slept through the night, dreaming the innocent dreams that are expected within a small town with small people. Gilean gazed down upon them, all asleep but one, a studious mage intent on a large leather bound book.

I assume you know Paladine said gravely, coming up behind the other god.

Of course. Gilean returned after a single moment.

We cannot interfere and yet…we must do something…

Gilean nodded with a distracted air and pointed.

Below, within the pits of a roaring volcano, It was waking. Hideous eyes opened, eyes of writhing magma and looked upward at the two Gods. They cringed involuntarily and the Demon let out a roar of unimaginable power, shaking the all of Krynn. Torn bat-like wings rose from amongst the impossible heat as the Demon turned, sniffing at the world. He grinned, a grin that invited nausea in even the stoutest of stomachs, a grin that vanished when His eyes met a glow within the night. Three moons sat within the Heavens—white, red, and black. The Demon of Magic roared again, crying the name of Chaos, Father of All and of Nothing.

A path was set, as predicted by those seer’s who died for fear of their own prophecy. As he flew towards the sky, his rumbling voice was heard.

Ikiliwan horvantos! Tu densecs Holdtaneros!

I am all. You will not interfere.

Day 1:

Morning

Dillyl Blacksand looked up, irritated, as sunlight streamed through his shutters and into his black eyes. He stood, with a whisper of a black cloak, and closed the heavy volumn that lay on his desk. He walked slowly down the stairs from his study to his shop and with a wave of one impatient hand, unlocked the door. He then sat to study a new pendent that he has recently acquired in a most interesting trade. Hours flew by with no interruption till about noontime.

Afternoon

The door chimed and Dillyl looked up. A red robe strolled in.

“Good day to you sir,” he called. “Some party going on next store, isn’t it? Too bad I wasn’t invited.” The red robe ignored Dillyl’s answering frown and started to look around the shop.

Dillyl stared at him for a moment before he heard the sounds coming from the Roaming Bard tavern next store. He had been too busy concentrating to notice but now that he did, the noise was like a pounding in his head. A loud party was obviously in the making, and was surely to have a bunch of drunkards yelling all day. The black robe sighed, and paid more attention to his customers who were now streaming in as it was the daily rush.

He roamed the store, weaving in and out, making deals. Suddenly a wisp of gold caught his eyes. A young human of about 9 was sitting in a corner of the store reading a book. She was covered from head to toe in filth, obviously a beggar and thief.

Dillyl moved to stand above her, his imposing stance and dark eyes made to intimidate the girl. She gazed up at him with the purest of blue eyes and with no fear, quietly replacing the book and leaving the store. Dillyl sighed and closed up shop as it had gotten very late without him noticing.

As the dark mage walked towards the stairs a terrible roar burst through the air and through his ears. The mage winced and then braced himself as the earth itself responded to the unholy sound and shook as if it were being torn in two. Shaken, the mage shook his head as the cataclysmic tremors ceased and continued up the stair, suddenly exhausted.

Day 2:

Morning

Dillyl awoke to pounding. Pounding on the roof, pounding on the door, pounding in his head…he could not remember having slept in so very long…

He dressed quickly and tore downstairs. An angry mob stood at his door, pounding…

“Blacksand! What sort of foul magic is going on here?” demanded the nameless within the crowd. They were angry and wet, as torrents of rain poured from the dark sky.

“What are you talking about?” Dillyl asked, irritated. The crowd pointed up, almost in unison.

A break in the clouds revealed a 4th moon…a 4th heavenly body spanning the dark sky…it was lit with red, writhing as if not solid, as if it could come to no rest…it loomed, ever closer, closer than any moon should be…

The mage stared, as did the crowd, though he was not nearly as idle. A small vial entered his hand. Then he turned back to the mob. The masses looked up in union. “I know not what this is. But if I hear of anything from the Conclave, you shall be the first to know,” he said icily and with a black swish, he reentered his shop.

Afternoon

Dillyl Blacksand opened his shop later that day and much to his surprise, the crowds had dispersed and the rain ceased. The usual people entered and exited the store as well as his mind.

Day 3:

Morning

“Hello, Dillyl! How are you?” an annoying white robe grinned at the dark mage, then turned grave. “Have you heard about Fire? Hey—where are you going?”

“I am leaving for the Tower High Sorcery.”

“Now?”

“Yes, now.”

Afternoon

Dillyl Blacksand rode gracefully on his black stallion. The horse whined softly and glanced upwards. The writhing moon was closer now, an ominous image over a frightened world. The horse stopped, and they watched together. It seemed to be moving closer, now the edge seemed to light on fire, intense heat spreading through the air…it flew now, through the atmosphere, towards the helpless world…

“Oh my…”

((OOC: This is an example of one routine. Anyone who joins should do this and indicate if they are Chosen. No one be any of the chars I mentioned, though you can be at the party. It is for an aging dwarf named Fire Stonecutter, who is about to retire. He is really bitter about it. They’re making a big deal about how he’s doing one last job. He’s in a very bad mood. The Chosen should do a normal routine the first time and then realize that they are going back. I welcome any and all questions. Remember, if your not Chosen, run your script by me first. Thanks everyone and hopefully this will work!! ...oh, also try not to stretch this any farther than a very small town. Easier to keep track of everything that way.:):P:)))

{ooc: have to... join....can't resist. Want to be chosen, I'll use Jareth. He a sixteen year old thief of light build. The only thing special is a magical armblade which he stole once (obvious).}

Day One:

Morning

Morning came and Jareth sat up. Where am I? he thought as he removed some straw from his head. Looking at the straw and around him he recognized it again. He was in that tiny town called Saepenta. He was passing through and decided this was interesting enough to stay a while, and hide from those guards. "Let's see what this town has to offer." he said to himself.

Afternoon

Walking down the street he saw the few buildings. Not much to see here, there was the town store, but with this size they'll know immediately if something is missing. Noticing his coins running low he decided that the man standing in a group talking could do without some coins. With a quick movement he walked by and picked the pocket. He walked on as if nothing happenend. When he suddenly heard a bellow behing him. "Hey that kid just stole my pouch!" Jareth went into a stride and quickly climbed up a building. When suddenly the ground shook. He lost his footing and fell of the building unconscious.

Day two:

Morning

He woke up with a throbing headache. Now where am I? he thought as he lookd around. He was in a small shed, all his possesions were gone with the exception of his blade. Luckily no one took it of without his permission. There wasn't anything of interest inside here so he decided to leave. Extending his three foot blade, he cut through the back of the shed with ease. Running out he figured he had to steal some new things.

By then he noticed the torrent of rain comming down. But it was too late he was allready soking wet. He looked up and through a break in the clouds he could see a fourth moon, seemingly coming closer. Hmmm, probably some illusion by some wizard. he thought.

Afternoon

This time he was more carefull and he popped into empty rooms. Taking some things that were of use. Not wanting to get caught again, he avoided the main road. He made his way back to the hay loft he was in the other day. The rain had stopped, and the crowd he had seen earlire was gone. He laid out his clothes to dry, and slept under a blanket he had aquired.

Day Three:

Morning

Oh I'm still here. he thought as he woke up. Putting on his clothes again, which were dry by now. He decided that this town wasn't as fruitfull as he hoped. So he was going to try his luck elsewhere. Taking what posesions he had newly aquired, he set out.

Afternoon

He slowly walked down the road out of town. Seeing a rider passing him, who obviously didn't care about him. He walked on when all of a sudden the ground shook again. He got a query feeling, and he looked upwards. He saw the moon coming down this time. Notincing the end was near he didn't move.

"So it wasn't an illusion then." was all he said.

{ooc: hope this fits your demands. Oh and there is a bounty on him, but not a big one. If anything has to be different or removed tell me. And i'll alter it.}Why is it we always forget to keep the good things close to our heart, but let the bad things cloud our mind.

Day 1.
Harley was outside the cave where she'd spent the night, practicing her moves with her sword. She'd taken off her velvet cape to move more freely. Always on alert, she heard a strange sound from above. Looking up she saw what appeared to be a 4th moon, it looked as though it was in the midst of an eclipse - dark, with flames shooting around it. But no... the sun was setting in the west. She resolved to tell her mate about it, next time he came from his training.
Day 2.
Harley awoke, after camping in the same cave. She decided to head to town to see about this eclipsed 4th moon. She hoped Kraven would come back soon, so she could ask him about it.. Surely he would have learned something from the great fighter mage. (ooc: sorry - just fitting some stuff in from my honey's comic story he's got)
(bic) As she walked through the streets, Harley saw a crowd, not far from a tavern. "Seems like a good as any place to get information." She headed for the edge of the crowd, avoiding a few kender.
In the center of the crowd was a mage, apparantly he was heading for the conclave to see if they had any information. "Hmm. That's probably all I'll hear until he gets back... might as well stay in town."
Day 3.
Harley allowed herself to sleep in, feeling helpless to stop what was happening. She heard that the mage next door had left for the conclave. She looked out her window, considering trying to get a message to Kraven, when she saw the buildings start to burn.......

"Damn!" Javert shouted as he walked out of the blacksmith shop. "3 days to fix that stupid armor. Well, guess I better find a room somewhere. Heh, maybe I'll find something about one of the criminals I'm tracking.

Javert walked to the inn and checked in. "Anyone pass through here recently. Any trouble?"

"Nope, nothing recently." the innkeep said.

Javert went up to his room and settled in for the night.

day 2

Javert walked down the stairs into the lower level of the inn and into the street. He went to the local constable to find any more news, then to the tavern around noon. On his way there, he looked up and saw the strange moon in the sky. "Hmm, a red star perhaps? I wonder if it is the same thing J'mes mentioned. Well, if it is, I'll need to leave the tracker for Endy tonight. Maybe he'll know what to do."

After having lunch at the tavern, he went to the market to see if there was anything he wanted there. He picked up a few knives from a vender then went up to the inn for the night. Before going to bed for the night, he set out a strange rock on the desk.

A few hours later, J'mes looked to see Endy's eyes whirling redly. Looking around the library of Palanthas, he knew he had to get to Javert as fast as he could. Gathering his things for a trip, he went out and climbed up onto Sarumth. Within a few minutes, he was flying at top speed towards Javert's beacon. He didn't know how far he would have to fly but without a visual reference, he had no idea where to fly to. He would have to trust the beacon.

Day 3

"Well, he get here eventually I guess." Javert said as he walked out of the inn. He took the red stone with him, and decided to wait for J'mes at the tavern. Suddenly, a blue lizard appeared in the air of the tavern and landed at Javert's table. "Almost here," he said to himself.

He walked out side as he heared Sarumth's roar, which quickly turned to terror as he saw the meteor bearing down on them. He thought to himself, *Damn, too late.*Free the flame and sear the grasses,

Day One

Jury Stargazer Misato Walked into town, Yawning. She had traveled all night, and needed to sleep. She walked to the nearest inn, and payed for her room. She walked wearily up to it, and walked in. She tossed her pack into a corner and locked the door behind her.

"Ahhh...Finally a bed" she murmered and promptly fell asleep

Jury spent the remainder of this first day inside her room, sleeping then went out later to inspect the prospects in this town.

Day Two

Jury walked outside to hear the murmerings of the people, all preoccupied and looking up. Jury, allowing her curiosity to get the better of her, looked up too. She gasped at the sight of a large moon there...she had been so tired yesterday, that she didn't even notice.

'will it fall?' 'where did it come from?' Came the wondering voices around her. Jury looked up once more shrugged, and continued on her business...She was a theif after all.

Day Three

Jury was walking along, counting yesterday's profit, and munching on a apple. She looked up and was startled to see that the moon was closer...too close. She could feel the hairs on the back of her neck rise as she stared at this terrible sight. "What is going on here??" she muttered as she felt the ground below her feet shake. She could hear people crying, and shouting...She knew that this world had seen this last day.

She didn't know what she could do....it all seemed so hopeless...then as The pendant of the Centuri Began to radiate a warmth that she had never felt before...she fell to her knees.

"help us!! Our world cannot end this way!!" She screamed as she felt the oprresive force from the falling moon.

---------

Day One

Jury blinked, she stared around her in awe....she must've fallen asleep on the trail...only to see that doomed city before her...Startled, she looked up, to see the moon that had destroyed everything in sight...the moon that would continue to destroy...unless she could find a way to stop it....She ran forward, clutching at her pack...she wasn't tired anymore...she had to do somehting....but what??The power to save the world...rests within a Child's Heart

Suddenly a small bell signaled the enterance of a customer. Dillyl sighed loudly and stood up to greet the young boy that entered his shop. As he moved past an antique table he had many papers organized on, he noticed a new piece of strange parchment. The black robe frowned and decided to get rid of this boy fast, in order to find out who had been here without his knowing.

The mage came upon a sixteen year old boy. Not very tall and light of build. He spoke without any warning. "High, I'm Jareth. have you noticed anything strange lately? Like a fourth moon crashing into the world." he said bluntly. He didn't know what to expect, none of the people in the town acted panicking. But he had to find out if it was a dream, or if it really happened.

Getting old?

According to my mother, I've always been old...but we're not going to get into that. :)))

Day 1--Morning (still)

Dillyl stared at the young boy as he spoke, his expression going from simple annoyed to one of a pure skepticism. What was this half-wit of a boy doing in his mageshop, disturbing his studies? Fourth moon? Not only was this boy daft but, as far as the black robe was concerned, his parents were just as daft for letting him out of the house!

Dillyl Blacksand gave an exasperated sigh and turned around, intent on ignoring the boy and getting on with his studies. Hopefully, the child would just go away...if not, well magic was useful for all kinds of things.

Taking a step towards the back of his shop, the mage cursed and stopped abruptly. The boy darted around to see that Dillyl had walked into a table.

The black robe frowned. He had thought he was more towards the front of the store...no where near this table. Looking down he caught his breath...

The strange piece of parchment that he has noticed before was sitting, alone, on the table where it had no place being...Dillyl picked it up slowly, noting with more than a little fear that the ink had changed.

It now matched the exact shade of the boy's eyes.

Dillyl was not used to fear and banished it instantly. He wondered what he could get out of this strange occurrance and decided to the keep an eye on the boy.

"Here," he said harshly, handing the paper to the boy. He then moved off as if uninterested.

((OOC: The paper, of course, holds the phrophecy. Jareth can either study it here, or move to another part of town. You all still have to find each other and there are other things to explore. If you wish to stay in the mageshow, you already know what happens. Small recap, afternoon brings in a red robe who comments on a party in the tavern next door, Dillyl works with customers and shoos out a little girl who was reading in the shop. ))"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

Jareth slowly took the piece of paper. Looking at it he saw the strange words. Looking at the mage, who had gone back to his tasks, he knew he wasn't going to help him anymore.
Carefully folding the paper, and tucking it away. He walked out.

Outside the shop, he looked around. Everything seemed the same, there was the man he had stolen from. He remembered it clearly, he stole from him and was caught. He ran away and climbed up a roof. But a tremor threw him off, and knocked him out cold.

This was odd. Then he noticed the comotion from the inn. He didn't know precisely what was going on there. Well now he had a chance to do that. So he went in.

Inside he saw everything revolving around a dwarf. Who didn't seem all to pleased about it. Drawing attention of one of the other attendants. "What going on here?" he asked. Why is it we always forget to keep the good things close to our heart, but let the bad things cloud our mind.

Day 1

Afternoon

The woman glanced at the young man who had stopped her and then stared. "It's Fire Stonecutter's 201st birthday!! Everyone knows that!" she said before hurring back to the party.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fire Stonecutter sat in the middle of a mob loud enough to drown out even the grumblings of one unhappy dwarf. His piercing blue eyes glared at everyone within sight from over their wrinkles, and said plainly that he wished looks could kill.

The party-goers, likely drunk, ignored this and continued to offer him congratulations and drink after drink after drink...

Fire refused them all, kind words and cool brew...he couldn't afford to get drunk now. He was close, so very close, to his last carving--the talk of the party--and he both loathed and welcomed the time that drew ever nearer.

Tomorrow he would carve his finest piece and then retire, never again to caress and shape stone with his withered hands.

Off to the side, two of the party-ers, and only two, looked as if they were not totally enjoying the party.

"I'm worried about him...he's so tense, he's liable to kill himself!" the male said to his companion, who shrugged.

"I still think he'll relax...the party is a good thing. He'll be just as tense sitting around waiting for tomorrow by himself, maybe even more so." she said, though she didn't look entirely convinced. The man sighed.

"Maybe..."

In the meantime, the dwarf sat as long as he could contain himself. Then the kender showed up. With a mighty roar, the dwarf turned to the man and woman. "Take...me...home!" he demanded. They exchanged worried glances and then made for the door. The party ignored them.

As they reached the door, the dwarf collasped and the two gasped. They made to carry him, heading for a house near the edge of town.

Jareth roamed about the party till the afternoon. Carefull enough not to drink anything, since being drunk hampered stealing, and helped himself to some coins from others. Two years had tought him not to steal to much from others, as not to draw attention.

Somewhere in the afternoon the dwarf yelled out to be taken home. 201 huh he thought. That was pretty old, older than most dwarves got. Then a thought occured to him, age meant knowledge. He might know about the paper he got. As he made his way to the dwarf, the dwarf suddenly collapsed. It was probably too late, the dwarf would be carried off and die in a bed. Jareth had seen that happen to his mother, when he was only 12 years old. It meant he had to look somewhere else.

He headed outside, looking around. He noticed a man probably not local walking around. He was looking intently around, as if he searched for someone. Judging by the weapons, probably a bounty hunter. Then like a shot he ran to the back of an alley, and climbed up a roof. A bounty hunter, might be looking for him. As he went up the roof a tremor occured, the same tremor. Jareth fell to the ground, knocking him outcold.

DAY 1

MORNING
Mirror opened her eyes as the light from her un-shuttered window fell across her bed. She sat up, the rumpled covers falling off of her body to reveal the tattoo's of her kagonesti heritage. She shivered slightly as she placed her bare feet on the hard floorboards of her room and padded over to where a robe hung off of the back of a chair. She tied the flimsy silver material around her half naked body and looked down at the table. There was a note along with a small pouch of coins: "Thankyou for a night to remember. I'll look you up again next time I'm in town. I hope the money I've left covers what I owe you. W." She tipped the money out onto the table and counted. Standard pay. She sighed and closed her reflective eyes, biting back tears. From fighter mage to whore all in the space of a few months. She ran a hand through her long white hair, which was now streaked with a bright crimson shade and looked out of her window. The door slammed open behind her. The lanlord, wanting his cut, as punctual as ever. She turned around without saying a word and handed him half her earnings.
"Hurry up wench, we open in a few hours and there's that party this afternoon. Make yourself look a bit more attractive before you come down, you'll put the patrons off their ale." The door slamed shut again.
Mirror shighed and blinked back a tear from her almond shaped eyes as she sorted out her serving wench outfit.

AFTERNOON
Mirror squeaked at another pinch on her rear end. "The next person that does that to me get's a fireball up their left nostril!" she swore quietly to herself. She turned around to the patron who had touched her and gave him a coy look, giggling as she hurried off to get him some more ale.
The party was in full swing, and Mirror noted that the only two people who didn't seem to be having a good time were her, and the person who the party was for. She kept hearing grumbles coming from the old dwarfs direction, and could empathise with him entirely. She put her tray down on the bar and closed her eyes in a slient prayer to Paladine to help her out of the mess she were in. If only someone she knew would come in, someone who did not detest her anymore, a kind, friendly, familiar face! Who was she kidding, she'd burned all those bridges! She opened her eyes, refilled her tray, and began her circuit of the room once more, careful not to spill ale down her white off the shoulder shirt with puff sleeves and short doe-skin skirt.
Suddenly, she noticed the dwarf collapse and demand to be taken home. She smiled. It was bound to happen soomer or later!! Then, she noticed someone walk out of the bar after the dwarf, someone she didn't recognise. It wasn't often that strangers came to this town. If there was one, maybe there'd be others. Maybe, there'd be one that knew her..................

Morning

The rain fell upon the earth and the crowd gathered before Dillyl's door, demanding answers of the mage.

Meanwhile, Jareth woke as before but this time something was different. Suddenly he identified the sound. The dwarf was not dead after all, vocally arguing with someone, his voice highpitched with pain. The words were too distant to make out.

((OOC: Okay, I thought I explained it well enough in the intro...I guess not...No one here has played Majora's Mask for N64? It's a Legends of Zelda game meaning it has lots of puzzles and stuff. In the game Link has 3 days before everything restarts and he has to run around figuring out stuff.

Obviously, you guys can't run around and look at stuff, so you're supposed to write about yourselves going around town. That tringers things, like I explained the party and such. For more interaction on your part, you were all supposed to hook up and talk about the prophecy.

The Prophecy is the key. To keep things rather simple there are only three real puzzles that have all been mentioned so far. (One was very subtle and I will be elaborating on it later.)

To help, I'll point out some stuff.

Prophecy of Darkness

Darkness looms
Pending forever night
As the Demon wakes

A thunderous boom
A Moon of Might
Every life He shall take

This refers to the coming of the demon which you all know about. Don't worry about this.

A Goddess cries
An Angel’s tears
Fall from Heaven’s eyes

A world that dies
As mortals fear
No more time for lies

This is the first clue and refers to something you need.

From shapely hands
With dying breath
A heart is saved

From whittled sands
The last of death
A heart is paved

This is the second clue and refers to something you need.

A pure soul
Of Balanced mind
Preserves the Days

From dust and coal
Life shall bind
Light from Darkening haze

Last clue. Again something you need.

Three to find
Three for time
Is Darkness swept away?

This just refers to the fact that you need three things and have three days (though they repeat so...)

Does that help?

Mirror, if Mara is still in, I suggest you talk to Kalia about taking her spot. And Mara, the dwarf had a heart attack, it wasn't caused by anything but old age.))

Day 2

Morning

"Are you feeling better?" Jareth jumped at the sound of a small voice at the foot of the bed. A small girl of about nine stood looking at him with wide blue eyes that seemed to radiate innocence and intelligence. "You fell and hit your head...I thought you would be more comfortable in a bed...but if you're feeling better, you should leave." she blushed. "This isn't my house."

She set some food at the foot of the bed, mere scraps--but judging by the rags she wore as clothes it was all she had--and then vanished through the doorway.

Jareth stood and looked outside. It was raining, though the 4th moon could be seen through the scattered clouds.

Jareth walked slowly through the hall of the house, which seemed to wrap around the outer wall. He glanced this way and that, looking for anything valuable to steal but there was nothing. With a sigh, he looked to his right and straight out a small window. The rain was starting to clear up and Jareth had a nice view of the mage shop.

He saw Dillyl talk to the people and then go inside. Most of the crowd left, except for a few people who muttered darkly in their small groups. One woman stood alone, staring at the mage shop with the strangest expression...

Day 2

Afternoon

Runtha Ragania walked slowly down the street, his red robes trailing in the slight breeze. Beside him walked K'ater Moon, a white robe, and friend.

Runtha sighed softly and glanced around. Down the street stood two people, a young boy and a woman. They were both gazing up and then the boy spoke and the woman jumped. Runtha hid a smile and walked on, taking no more notice of the two who obviously feared the 4th moon. And with good reason... he thought with another sigh, then spoke.

"This is all your fault you know."

K'ater turned and raised an eyebrow, meaning both he didn't follow the statement and wasn't sure if they should talk so close to the other two on the street. Runtha decided he didn't care if the two heard and indicated with a shrug. "The moon...your name...it's your fault."

The white robe gave a thin smile. "So you're sure then, that it is a bad thing?"

Runtha nodded. "It does not bode well for us, I think."

"What are you going to do?"

The red robe's shoulders dropped. "I don't know...but I feel as if I should so something..."

K'ater frowned thoughfully. "What about Blacksand? Together we might..." he stopped as the other laughed.

"I talked to Blacksand yesterday...or at least tried to. He wasn't in the best of moods...and with the crowd this morning...I fear I wouldn't get much of a welcome."

K'ater nodded. "I'll talk to him tomorrow. Perhaps he will have cooled down by then...on a different note, did you know Othelia is looking for you?"

Runtha shook his head. "What does the lovely Cleric of Gilean want from me this time?" he asked with a hint of sarcasm.

"Seems Jare Onyxhammer, the dwarven gemsmith, found a blood red stone in the quarry outside of town yesterday." The mage shrugged. "You know Othelia...she tried to take it from him. Said it was a sign from Gilean. Honestly, I don't understand why you put up with her."

"I put up with her because...well, she had a hard life before. Her family was as poor as they come and her father beat her...you know her story. And she's so dedicated to Gilean and the balance..."

"You feel it's your obligation to support her."

"Well, yes," Runtha admitted. "She is innocent in so many ways..."

"What are you doing tomorrow?" K'ater asked then, knowing his friend would appreciate the change in subject.

"I think...I'm going to stay home and study. As you know, I have quite a collection of books...perhaps one will mention this strange occurance."

The white robe shrugged again. "I hope so...hey!!" Taking a step forward, he grabbed the collar of a small person who tried to dart past.

"A kender?" Runtha asked, then saw that it was not. A small child dressed in rags with golden curls and bright blue eyes stared back at the two mages, clutching a large loaf of bread. "A thief." The red robe amended. "What is your name?"

"Tia Sophenya," she answered immediatly, looking unashamed of her crime.

"Give me the bread, Tia, and tell me where you got it from," the child did so and then was sent on her way. Runtha turned to K'ater. "I'm going to return this and then go talk to Othelia. You're going to talk to Blacksands tomorrow?"

"Yes, tomorrow I will. As for the rest of today...I shall go and look in my own meager library for more information and then let you know if I find anything..."

The two mages shook hands and then parted ways.

Day 2

Afternoon
Mirror walked through the streets of the small town and pondered. The wind gently pulled at her scooped up hair that was held in place by two fancy claw grips, a gift from a previous regular customer. They were one of the few things she kept from her punters, they were silver and reflected the light as she moved. They reminded her of her old life.......
She hefted the basket from her left arm to her right and looked up at the sky. A fourth moon was moving further towards them, getting bigger as it did so. Another day an it will probably hit us, she thought, the idea not really sinking in to her brain.
The wind suddenly picked up speed a little and became sharper in it's attack. She shivered, wishing she had brought a shawl with her to cover her shoulders, bare due to the serving wench top she was currently wearing. All she seemed to wear nowadays was seving wench gear. Occasionally the top would change colour and she would swap the skirt for a pair of doe skin breeches as she had done today, but it was still basically the same. She missed the fine elven armor she used to wear, and the finely made silver robe. She missed the silver sash she wore to hang her spell components off of, she missed..................
She was so preocuppied in her own thoughts that she did not see the two people standing, looking up at the sky, having an in depth conversation about something. She carried on walking and smaked into the smaller of the two, a boy of about 16 by the looks of him, and spilled the contents of her basket ( two loaves of bread, a few potatoes and some cheese) onto the floor. She looked up at the boy, glanced at his female companion, and then dropped to her knees to hurridly pick the things up. She looked up at the boy again, and realised he was the same person she had seen in the inn the previous day, the one who had gone after the dwarf. But there was also something else strangely familiar about him............
"Excuse me," she asked the young man, "Do I know you from somewhere, you seem very familiar?"
