(OOC: Everyone has a darkside, some just do not show it. All of the greatest heroes of Krynn have turned to their darkside from time to time, but most have returned to their sanity only to become stronger from their experience. But there are some that only show their darkside, and thrive on the power they find there. It is a time before the Chaos war, and the world is beginning to feel the heat of what is to come. The land is dieing and the father of all and nothing is about to arrive, but a greater evil resides on the land. An apprentice of the great Raistlin Majere, he has thrived on evil and power. See what could happen if we all gave in to the Darkness Within.)

Darkness was sitting in his tower, watching the world as it suffered from the Anvil Summer. He watched the crops die, the rivers run dry, and the people suffer. He liked what he saw. Darkness had lived on Krynn for centuries, and he wanted nothing more than for everyone to suffer like he had in his life. And now the end was coming for Krynn's people. He knew what was transpiring, he knew that it could have all been avoided, but he knew that the selfishness of one race had sealed the fate for all of Kynn. He laughed inwardly to himself. A knock came at his door. "Come in," he said in a harsh voice that chilled the messenger to the bone. He saw that it was his apprentice, Christian, that approached. "Ah, you have news for me I take it."

"Yes master," Christian hated his new master but he dared not speak it. He had witnessed the horrible things he had done in the past few months, most of them still haunted his dreams. His former master, Raistlin, had never been so cruel or evil as this man was. "The knights wish your assistance, the legions of Chaos are attacking. The world is being set aflame, what should I tell them."

"You can tell them to burn for all I care. But I will go to investigate, this Chaos intrigues me. I will leave within the hour. You will watch over my tower until I return." Darkness then began to activate the portal which would take him to the city of Neraka.

(OOC: Im not sure where Im going with this yet, but I hope it catches. Im thinking that a few battles with Chaos's minions would spice it up a bit. The Chaos war series dealt with the legions of Chaos attacking several parts of Krynn, but lets try to make our own addition shall we >:).)We are damaged provider modules,

Darkness arrived in Neraka, his magic taking him there swiftly. As he had hoped, he liked what he saw. The knights of Takhisis stationed there were being overrun by dragons made of pure fire, ghosts that walked as shadows, and creatures that took no shape but all at once. These beasts had been lost to Krynn since the earliest ages, but now Chaos had chosen them to destroy the world. Darkness watched as a shadow wight approached. The creature stared blankly at him, its body blending in with the night around it. Its two glowing red eyes were the only sign that it was even there.

"Do you wish to destroy me," he asked the creature, "or do you wish to simply feed off my magic. Just so you know, not even you could handle that feat." The wight lunged at Darkness, but Darkness was quicker. He moved to the side and let loose a blinding burst of flames at the creature. It screamed in pain a moment before it ceased to exist, again. "As I thought, they present no challenge to me."We are damaged provider modules,

In a dark alley, somewhere in the city of Neraka, a figure crouched over something. Rising, he wiped a long serrated dagger off on his leggings, leaving a blood smear. Sheathing it, he bent down again, and picked up the object he had been looking at. Blood dripped from the dead body of a man, most likely a merchant of some sort. The figure carried it off, and deposited it in an abandoned house. He then locked the door. He whistled a tune as he walked off, casually taking off the bloody gloves on his hands and tossing them in a trash barrel.

He reached his destination after a few minutes of walking. It was a huge three-story house, seemingly abandoned. The windows were boarded up, and the roof was in dire need of repair. He walked up, and simply knocked on the door. ".....Who is it?", a voice called out. "Do I really need to tell you?", the man replied. The door swung open, and a dwarf stepped out. He had no beard, which was extremely unusual in itself, but he also was missing one leg, which he replaced with what seemed to be the leg of a chair. "Eh, come on in, Kage. We've been having a lot of trouble with those blasted Knights nowadays, so we can't be too careful." Kage scratched his chin thoughtfully and said, "Yes, I could of sworn one of them was watching me when I followed that merchant." Kage stepped inside. The dwarf looked around, then closed the door.

"We just recieved word that a mage of some sort has just appeared in Neraka. He seems pretty powerful, too. Destroyed a Shadow Wight with pretty much a wave of his hand. You need to be careful with this one, Kage. Very careful.", the dwarf said. Kage gave a chuckle. "No worries, friend. All mages must sleep, and all mages are susceptible to a dagger in the back. Just you wait, before the day is through, we will have all the magic items we need to get out of this city with our lives." With that, Kage walked out of the room, leaving the dwarf, who was shaking his head."No, I don't think I could even stand to touch anyone lately. This is the first time I've been out all week - I'd still be in, but I cut my hand on a Speghettios can."

Darkness wandered through the streets of Neraka aimlessly, just watching the chaos take form around him. Everywhere he went the creatures were swarming, but for some reason they never approached him. "These creatures have no fear, but they fear my power. This is very interesting indeed, why do they not attack me? I came here for a challenge but thus far none have appeared to me." Darkness continued walking down the streets until he met a dark knight patrol fighting a group of shadow wights. The wights finished all but one of the knights and were closing in for the kill, but this knight was different somehow. He was a tall man, very muscular, and he had long flowing black hair. He did not wear the armor of the dark knights and his weapon glowed with the blessing of Paladine, not Takhisis. Darkness watched in amazement as this knight single handedly finished off six shadow wights.

"A strange place for a knight of the Solamnics to be wandering around. What are you doing here knight, and if your answer does not please me know that I will kill you without another thought."

The knight looked at the mage and wondered a moment what to say. "Mine name is Blade Sharpsword, and as for my reason for being here, my god has commanded me to aid these knights with the rest of my order."

"Very interesting, take me to the lords manor, and remember your refusal will mean your death." Darkness' eyes glowed even deeper red under the cover of his hood. Blade could not refuse those eyes, they were strong and demanding, they showed power and intelligence, but most of all they instilled fear deep within his heart. Blade never feared any man. His mother had taught him magic at a young age and the knighthood was unaware of it. He could cast rudamentary spells, but this mages power was far beyond his comprehension.

"Follow me to the mansion." Blade then lead Darkness deeper into the evil city.

(OOC: I had to bring in another one of my characters to spice things up a bit. A Solamnic Knight and the darkest mage to ever live, this should be interesting >:).)We are damaged provider modules,

Chewing thoughtfully on a thumbnail, Anarlath studied the scroll in front of her, interrupting herself with a yawn. She glanced at the magical light that rested at the windowsill and blinked her eyes. By Lunitari, she was tired.

The scroll swam before her tired eyes, and she blinked again. Best leave it off until tomorrow, she decided. Glancing around her room that she had in the Tower, making sure that everything was in order--she always liked to be organized--she nodded to herself once. Dulak, she whispered softly, and the magical light on the windowsill went out.

As the light faded away, shadows clung to her red robes, dying them almost black. The darkness seemed to grow from within the room, until it was bigger than she herself. Anarlath shivered. She wasn't the superstitious type, but it seemed an omen.

Finally, she fell asleep to half-remembered dreams and nightmares.

Darkness had seen many evils in his lifetime, but these beings of Chaos were astounding. Everywhere he went the dark knights were fighting off the creatures. "This truely is Chaos." he muttered to noone but himself. In the deep of night Neraka seemed almost peaceful, but on these troubled nights the city was bustling with the sounds of battle. After what seemed like an eternity of walking, Blade had finally lead him to the mayors manor. As he approached the door a tall, skinny man dressed in what once could have been expensive clothes, but now were torn and dirty, awaited on the threshold.

"Darkness, thank the dark queen you have arrived. I have much to ask of you, but please, follow me inside so we can have some privacy."

"Lord Mithan, you are a mess, is this little invasion bothering you?" Darkness almost smiled at the look on the lords face. "Yes there is much we have to talk about."We are damaged provider modules,
