I'm new to this so please bear with me. I was thinking of starting a thread and would like to run an idea past any one who reads this.

Set in present time, the Gods return to krynn(now called Earth)to find massive changes. Humans dominate the planet, Krynn itself has grown in size and the races of past Krynn, Elves, Ogres etc, have vanished.(I will come up with a reason later on, or if anyone would like to suggest something please feel free to do so).

Having grown in power over the thousands of years that they have been away, all the Gods were able to band together and fend off Chaos, then deeming it safe enough the Gods returned.

Not wasting any time, and seeing that the Old magics have been forgotten, the Gods set about revivng the Old ways, Magic, Clerics etc. Choosing appropriate followers, The Gods of Magic taught people worthy enough, how to use magic. These people could be used as characters. The same with the Clerics and Paladine, Gilean and Takhisis etc.

The main plot to the thread would be the re-intergration of magic etc. into the New World and the chaos that occurs. The usual fear, what-not, that people have when they do not understand something.

Again, please comment on what you think of this idea, it most likely does need improving, so suggest away. Mainly I would like to know if people would be interested in joining this thread.

Thanks.

(OOC: I've seen two threads similar to this before. One worked, one different. Let's see if we can make this work.)

Timesplit sat behind the counter of his shop. *Looks like another boring day* he thought to himself. Pulling out a spellbook from under the counter, he propt his feet up on the counter and started reading.

"The Temprastaff has many uses. Its primary purpose is to place creatures in a stasis field in which they are in susspended animation. Secondary purposes include ..." he continues reading. "In close combat, the temprastaff can selectively encase its targets in a stasis field as well. This can be extended to cover the entire target or only the area hit. Also, the staff --"

Timesplit is interupted as the phone rings. "Hello, Greg Brown Electronics. Brown speaking," he says into the phone. "Sure, I can fix that. When can we schedule an appointment for me to come by and give an estimate?" The conversation continues for a minute, then they hang up. *Dang, what is taking them so long?* He thought afterwards. *Those other mages were supposed to be here 15 minutes ago. Oh well, back to studying.* He looks over to a strange staff leaning in a corner, then picks up the book again.Free the flame and sear the grasses,

OOC: sure I'll play! I have just the Character in mind too. Glimmer spent alot of time as a Human...Now soon in the (Past...well whatever the times used in dragonlance :S) Thread "The Seduction" Glimmer will have her children. Children have children....lol and on and on...Now what if I where to say that the "dragon" heritage was lost?? But any of these children would still have an affinity for magic. :) ok..Introducing

((OOC: hehe. I have to get in on this one. The first DL book I read had a map in it that looked suspiciously like Europe...ever since then I thought that Krynn was Earth in the back of my head...never though of making a thread outta it though. Good idea. Hm...who to be? It would be easiest to be me rather than make something up...but that could get messy. Damn, Kalia, you outlined exactly what I would do!! Hm...

Okay. Just to keep us all together, I'm also going to Monaca Sr. High school too, but I just moved there from Chicago, leaving all my friends. :( Which would suck. Horribly. I hate it so much, I spend all my time on my comp talking to them and ignore most people at school.

Name: Anya Ali (always wanted a sis!!)
Age: 14 (but mature. Skipped a grade and am in Kaylia's classes)
Hair: Short, black
Eyes: Olive green, flecked with gold
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 110 lbs.

Ooo. I'll just write as if I took after my dad...which means...

Ali is incredibly smart, loving all things scientific and mathematical, plues writing and drawing :). She has rather severe features and doesn't smile very often--or at least, people don't think she smiles cuz most don't know her well enough to notice her subtle expressions. She also loves computers and reading, loving fantasy and dreams. She is really outgoing and a fun person, laughing at everything, but the move has left her depressed and quiet. Most people avoid her as she seems to be a cold bitch type.))

BIC: Anya sighed softy as her Lit teacher droned on about A Tale of Two Cities. She hated that book with a passion--even more so now that this would be the second time she was forced to read it. Well, at least the second time she was supposed to read it. She had no intention whatsoever of opening that book again, willing to risk a bad grade and rely on her memory.

Bad grade. Anya snickered. She could have not shown up for half the year, doing no work and still get an A.

"The school system tis pathetic," she muttered, tuning out her "teacher" all together. Her left hand twitched and the pencil stopped moving. Anya blinked. She hadn't even realized she had been drawing. A small dragon, wings folded together, sat on the paper, staring at her with one intelligent eye.

Anya sighed again, loudly, drawing the attention of her classmates. She ignored their looks, their laughter, and pulled to mind a picture of her older sister. Stacey had been missing for nearly a year now--the dragon was her seal.

Anya missed her sister with a passion, missed her as much as she hated her. Though she realized it wasn't Stacey's fault that she had dissapeared, or perhaps it was, Anya blamed her for leaving and then making her move so her parents could get away from memories. They, the sisters, had always been close. Most thought them to be twins at first sight and then as they got to know the sisters, they were often said to be of like minds.

"Anastasia..." Anya's own name was an abbreviation of this, as was Stacey's. They were of like names, like minds..."And she's gone and I'm here, in this boring world by myself!" She stared at the dragon and then crumpled the paper into a tiny ball which she tossed into the garbage can.

"I'll thank you not to throw paper while I am teaching!" Mrs. Sheehan snapped.

Teaching...is that what you call it... Anya thought, sinking into her chair and counting the minutes till she could go home and talk to old friends...Good becomes ignorant.

Kaylia stifled a giggle as Mrs. Sheehan snapped at one of the girls in the front row. She closed her eyes and turned her gaze outside. The newly warm air blew in from the windows. It had rained earlier and the Blue Jays flitted from one tree to the other outside the large Plate Glass windows.

Her imagination ran wild, and she couldn't wait for the bell to ring. While Unicorns and Dragons Ran rampant in her mind, Her hand doodled ceaslessly on the paper in front of her. Mrs. Sheehan snapped somthing again, and Kaylia looked up breifly. Upon noting that the comment wasn't directed at her, she turned her eyes down to her paper. The clean white spiral note book now had a detailed Dragon drawn in pen. She smiled and wondered if Mrs B. would allow her to get an extra credit for a creative painting. She studied the sketch once more. The dragon was beautiful, prowd, but not too overbearing... She quickly scratched a few more lines and added the wings...

She paused and erased some of it, and drew again..this time adding feathers to the wings. she smiled at her creation and looked up....Right into Mrs. Sheehan's eyes.

"What are you doing missy??" She asked.

Kaylia swallowed, and snapped her notebook shut. "Nothing Mrs. Sheehan!" she gulped. The teacher was about to say something else when the bell rang.

Kaylia jumped up out of her desk and bolted for the door. She slowed as she passed the office, and bumped into the girl that Mrs. Sheehan was yelling at earlier.

"Oh!!! Sorry!!" she cried as her notebook went flying, it opened up at the page with the dragon sketch on it. Kaylia gulped as the Girl picked up the notebook, and steadied herself for the usuall baragge of hate and anger she usually recieved from all the other girls here."The world is not enough, but it is such a perfect place to start"

Anya zoned out the rest of class, finding that the time passed quicker if she daydreamed. Her thoughts flew to images of dragons and elves...she herself was a half-elf, trying to bring understanding to a racist world...

Goblins had just attacked and she had just pulled out her twin silver scimitars when the bell rung. Anya sighed. Her next period was off, which normally would have been a great thing...normally she would have gone off campus in Steve's old Chevy Astro, drove through Wendy's and spent the next half an hour debating the meaning of Say It Ain't So by Weezer with hilarious results, littered with the usual teenage sexual innuendo.

Now, it meant packing up her stuff, relocating to the library and sitting down to resume her endless daydreaming. Alone. Hm. Maybe today they would let her use the computers. She was sure she could hack through the system and email her friends...

Thoughts of computer hacking occupied her mind as she walked through the door and nearly tripped over a girl with amber eyes, spilling all her stuff. Anger welled up within-- were people ever going to learn how to walk?-- and Anya turned to have a few choice, and distastful, words with the girl when her eye caught an open notebook.

A beautifully drawn dragon looked back at her from on the page. Anya reached down in a daze and picked up the notebook. She was extremly picky about how dragons should look--cute dragons and particularly mean dragons pissed her off to no end-- and hence, the only person who she had ever known to draw dragons right was her sister...

And yet here was an elegent dragon, drawn with power and perfect...filled with the passion of the artist...

"Um...can I have my notebook back?" the girl asked, blushing. Anya blinked and realized that she had been staring at the notebook long enough for the halls to clear.

Her eyes glazed over and all anger was forgetten. "Sorry," she muttered, handing back the notebook.

A few minutes later, she had found her way to the Library with no conscious recollection of having walked there. She settled into an overstuffed chair and began to dream, the dragon floating in her mind...Good becomes ignorant.

Kaylia slipped into her study hall seat just as the bell rang. she breathed a sigh of relief. She opened her note book and smiled. she looked up at the clock and back at the teacher. Suddenly she closed her book, then gathered her book bag. She walked up to the teacher, mrs Glom, the Gym teacher.

"Mrs. Glom, may I have a pass to go to the Library instead?" she asked softly. The teacher looked at her breifly then scribbled a note on a slipp of paper and waved Kaylia away.

Kaylia walked up the back stairs, and around the Sr. High office, to the entrance to the Library. She walked in and handed Mrs. Dominicus the slip and walked to the back of the Library.

She set her bag down, and was about to sit down when she saw the Girl from earlier. She Wracked her brain trying to remember her name...Anya?? was that it? She sighed and walked up to her, her notebook in hand. "Um....excuse me Anya?? I was wondering if you could help me on this equasion in Physics...I just can't seem to get it right.""The world is not enough, but it is such a perfect place to start"

"Um....excuse me Anya?? I was wondering if you could help me on this equasion in Physics...I just can't seem to get it right."

Anya's head snapped up. "What the f--? What did you interupt me for? I almost had it!!" She looked down at her paper, which sported an unfinished sentence and lots of scribbled out words. "Why the hell does that bitch think I give a shit about the symbolism behind the wine spilling! I didn't care the first time and I sure as hell don't care now!"

She glanced up from the paper and glared at the girl, her severe features making her expression look positively fierce. "I was almost done with this gd project and you ruined it. Thanks. You have made my day." Her voice was thick with sarcasm. In the back of her mind, she realized that her anger was not over the insignificant project but over the drawing that had almost seemed to upstage her sister...

"Yeah, sure, I wanna think about physics now. Give me a minute and I'll calculate the acceleration at which you hit me when your grace tripped over me earlier!"

The girl blinked, anger flashing in her amber eyes. She just stared for a long awkward moment, stunned silence vibrating through the air. It lasted just long enough for Anya to regret her harsh words, but pride made her hesitate and the girl turned away. She turned to a large group of seniors obviously lead by a big, burly girl who looked as if her IQ might, might be as high as her age. She proceeded to grab papers and play the game of 'keep away'... Kaylia flinched and turned away from Anya, she didn't expect that kind of a reaction. She turned to see Melissa Plagman, and her cronies. She gasped as Melissa's hand snaked out and grabbed her notebook and started to leaf through it.

"Ahh!! now what is this?? the silly little pwincess drawling Dwagons again??" She scathed. She smiled, and waved the sketch above her head

"Give that back" Kaylia murmered, tears threatening. She hated this...she wished she had the guts to use her Karate to get her stuff back...but She held true with the philosophy of the training as well as the actuall Moves. Melissa had made no move against her, and the drawing was still in her head, no matter what.

Melissa laughed and grabbed the paper in each hand threatening to tear it in half. "Whatcha going to do about it Baby??" She hissed

Kaylia's eyes stung from the tears, but she refused to run, refused to fight, and refused to look away from Melissa's hateful face."The world is not enough, but it is such a perfect place to start"

Melissa grinned visciously, waving the drawing around, daring Kaylia to try and grab it. Kaylia just stood staring, trying desperatly to think of some way out of this situation. Suddenly a hand snaked from out of nowhere and snatched the drawing from Melissa's beefy hand. "What the--!"

Anya stood just a few inches away, though no one had noticed her. She held the drawing in one slender hand as if it were a delicate piece of parchment that was not to be creased in any way. "This doesn't belong to you," she said softly, staring into Melissa's eyes. The senior looked flustered, but could not loss face in front of her cronies.

"It's mine if I say it is," she declared, lunging for the paper. Anya danced nimble out of reach once, twice and then three times. Finally she stopped. Grinning, Melissa grabbed the paper away.

In a flash, Anya was inches away from Melissa. They stood face to face, Anya's olive eyes smoldering, her expression dark. If looks could kill, Melissa would have died then and there.

"That doesn't belong to you," Anya repeated, never raising her voice, though her intent was obvious. "I will give you all of three and a half seconds to give it back."

Melissa's eyes widened slightly and her voice raised in pitch. "Or what?"

"Or I will wipe this gd floor with your ass. There was no reason for you to take her stuff. We have a word for things like that back in Chicago. Perhaps your vocabulary includes it. The word is idiocy."

"You wanna go?" Melissa stammered.

"Oh yes. You cannot understand how pissed I am right now. I would like nothing more then to take it out on you."

A crowd had gathered, surounding the two combatants. But Melissa didn't have the stomach for it. "Take the stupid drawing," she muttered, tossing it. Anya plucked it from the air easily and watched as the senior ran, her cronies in tow.

Kaylia sighed softly and reached for the paper. But Anya was already walking away. "Hey--!" Kaylia called, fearing another confrontation. Anya moved for a table and sat down, setting the drawing near a seat opposite her own. She looked at Kaylia and raised an eyebrow.

"Are we going to do Physics or what?"

Kaylia sat down causiously and looked at the problem.

'A frustrated physics student throws his physic book out his bedroom widown at 5m/s. If his window is 300m off the ground, how far does the physics book land away from the house.'

"These probs are really fairly easy," Anya started, earning her a glare. "but the way Mr. Cottage teaches them is needlessly complicated. What you have to understand is that vertical measure measurements are totally seperate from horizontal measurements. So we have this:

]

--->5m/s
]
] 300m
]___________________________________________
x meters

First, identify your veritical values. The book is not traveling upward at all. Therefore it's initial virtical velocity is 0m/s. The vertical distance up and down is 300m. Acceleration down is simply gravity. And we're looking for the time that it is in the air because RT=D. So:

T=?
D=300m
VI=0
A=9.8m/s^2 We use the equation D=VIT + AT^2
So: 300=(0)(x) + (9.8 )(x)^2...divide by 9.8
30.61=x^2...take the square root...
t=5.53

Now to horizantal info. The book is in the air 5.53 sec and traveling horizantally at 5m/s. RT=D (5)(5.53)=27.65m and that's your answer. Get it?"

((OOC: hehe. Hope I did that right. Don't wanna look like a fool. :P))

OCC:(Seeing as the Gods of magic have also grown in power while they were away, the magic that mages use will also be considerably more powerful. The level of power and mastery which Raistlin achieved can be slighty more common.)

(I'll play a Black Robed mage, the one which Nuitari took as his first student when he they returned. I was only a child at the time, and being taught in the realms of the Gods, myself and the other two mages did not age as swiftly as you would on the material plane. So i look to be in my mid-thirties, but have been studying magic for over 150 years-- lets make it thats when the Gods returned-- i am now going to be looking for students to take on and train. Any one interested let me know. Also if anyone is interested in being the other two Mages, White and Red Robe.)

Gripping the Silver staff till his knuckles eventually turned white, the Archmagus watched from the shadows as the people went by. Under the cloak of an invisibility spell they knew not that he was there. He was watching for potential students. Those that had a particular aura around them were of interest to Martin, who would only take on those most likely to succeed well in the realm of magic, so that its reintergration would be held firm by strong individuals, should its existence again be in jepordy.

"None. None of them are worthy. However they may do." Martin whispered silently to himself. Sighing in frustration, Martin swiftly spoke a few words of arcane magic, only to reappear in a dim lit hall where the source of light came from no particular direction. Standing in front of him were to other mages of similar age. A white robed and Red Robed mage, both bowed in respect as did Martin. None of them were significantly more powerful than each other, however Martin was decended from the Majere family. The main reason for him being chosen.

Looking in to each of there eyes Martin spoke in exassperation "I take it my brethren that nether of you had any luck ither." 'From earth to sky, from leaves to roots,

((OOC: Okay, I'm not going to post...gunna wait for Kalia... Have some questions though. Which gods are back and how long have they been here? How about (so it fits in with my whole Stacey thing) only the chosen have real power because magic has been gone for so long? (And there can only be a few chosen) Others can have some power but not much...unless they're special. Like Kaylia is really a dragon and Anya is getting power through her sister who is back in time during the War of the Lance. That way, powerful mages aren't common. We need a conduit (Stacey and Anya). That way I can finish my quest and we have limitations that must be overcome. Let me know if that's okay.

Besides that, common mages are well, common but they are restricted. However, they have enough power to be noticed and soon a panic will start.

My char still doesn't know she has magic potential. We'll get to that soon. hehe. :)

*Oh, that will sound great if they're not,* he thought to himself. Then he tried speaking again. "Sorry, a little involved in my book there. Can I help you with something?"

{ooc: so where excactly is this?}

There was a small croud gathered on the square. They were all looking on the man on the pedestal. He was of middle age, and of avarage build. Standing beside him were two bodyguards, with handguns in plain sight.

"Are you just going to stand by seeing you're children succumb to magic?" he was proclaiming, "Magic is a danger to you and your children. Just last week a woman got severely burnt by a stray spell, and yesterday a child broke his legs because someone gave him a stone that would supposedly make him fly. Don't you see, in this beautifull world of technology, magic has no place. When will you wake up and see it. Magic will bring us back to the dark ages if it keeps up." His rantings keep going for another hour.

"Keep this in mind, and remember your donations will help us rid of this evil magic." He concluded. Two beautifull young girls walk along the dispersing croud, collecting money and handing out flyers.

OOC: It can be based where-ever you want it to be. I am on a remote island located in the pacific ocean somewhere. We can all come from different parts, but we will eventually meet somehow. Being the 'Bad Guy' the mages will obviously wish to keep an eye on you and make sure that you do not put magic in any serious jepordy.(Which i hope you will, as it will add a nice twist in the story.) So we will undoubtably meet.

"I think we may wish to wait a little longer until magic has been fully incorporated into todays society." The Red Robe mage spoke in surprise.

"I agree. Re-Building the Towers of High Sorcery would be a very...well for a start it would take alot more wizards than us three." Speaking next the White Robe was as taken by surprise by Martin's statement.

Decending the stairs and holding both mages in his gaze "I realise that it would take more than us three! Do you take me for a fool!" Both wizards averted their gaze and mumbled an apology. "I suggest that we ask the members of the Conclave whether or not they believe it a good idea."

"Will they help though. You know aswell as we do that they see us a threat and would not mind seeing our bones smoldering in a pile of ash." His Red Robed brethren spoke hastily.

Martin replied to the answer with a sly smile on his lips"Not if we offer to part with some of our knowledge."

"What knowledge!" Both mages spoke in wonder.

"Wait my friends. I will tell you both in good time. First lets speak to the Conclave." Whispering a swift spell, Martin disappeared from views followed by the mages.

((OOC: Hm. I was going to say that something is restricting powerful magic in this time for all but a few people...and that in order to restore the "flow" the gods need a mortal in both times that are connected. i.e. Stacey and Anya. But it sounds like there's too much magic floating around already...if there's a Conclave already...

We should draw up some clear restrictions. If you guys want any. We can go with my thing and say that the people in the Conclave aren't as powerful as they think they are or are Chosen or whatever or we can scrap my idea and I'll be on my own to think of why my char could be important...

Someone decide and explain, out of context, what restrictions exist. That's probably your job, Dark, as it's your thread.))

Anya followed Kay into the store reluctantly. She was in a hurry to get home as it was past 3, the time she usually when online and talked to her friends back home. She did this everyday, even if they didn't come on for days in a row. You really have to learn to let go of things... a voice in the back of her head said. But then again, another voice chimed in.what's wrong with the hope that I can keep in touch? I've been talking to Chris for years on and off and I've never met the guy!

She glanced nervously at her silver and blue watch. 3:15. She sighed deeply and looked around the shop. She was itching to get home but she knew better than to push her new friend. So she kept silent and smiled at Kaylia, making idle chat.

They walked deeper into the cluttered store. Anya glanced around with minor interest. Her love of technology ran deep but this shop was filled with old, used stuff with wires everywhere. Anya prefered her stuff new and incredibly up-to-date.

Sighing again, Anya glanced at her new friend. Kaylia stood straight and tall, smiling as she glanced around. A familiar feeling washed over the young human, a feeling of companionship that she had thought she had lost. Her friendships always started themselves, begining with her as a silent tag along, feeling that she was there to protect and entertain her companion. Eventually, if the friendship was real, she would lose the feeling of subordinate and see the other person as someone comfortable to be with...an equal.

Don't you dare... her mind warned of her tendency to put others on a pedastal...she had done so often and been dissapointed too many times...but she couldn't help smiling. Kaylia was unique, unlike her other friends...artistic...graceful...loving dragons. Her smile stretched.

"Um, hello, were you sent by the council?"

Anya glanced up at the shopowner, and her smile fell upon him as rays of sunlight. She blushed slightly, though she wasn't sure he had even noticed, and lessened her smile as much as she could till her severe features all but overcame it. Council...hehe...must be a good book...

Hiding a laugh, Anya managed to pull off a graceful bow without falling over. "My greetings, good sir, we have journeyed far to seek your advice."

Her smile lit again and besides her, Kaylia giggled slightly.

(OOC: Why does my computer have so many problems? Err, now I need a new moniter too. Maybe I should take it to timesplit :) )

"Oh, you are. Uh ... Um, hold on a minute," Timesplit said as he locked the door and flipped the 'closed' sign. "Come this way," he says to them as he leads them into the back of the store.

"The council said they would be sending some mages but I was expecting, ..., well, some older ... people. But please, have a seat, and I'll make my report." He says as they arrive in a small laboratory.

The girls have a seat and Timesplit began his report to the 'council.'

"Yes, well, I've continued my research on time and space magic, and have been practiceing with the temprastaff. Of course, I have been carefull not to let the general populace know about my magic. I know what would happen if one of my spells went wrong, and practice far from people. Of course, I still can't do much until I get more spells delivered. You wouldn't happen to have any for me would you? No, they would have just sent those in the mail. I'm sorry to report that I still haven't found anybody else with the spark of magic. (He's found you two now, but thinks you're already mages). I've continued monitering the others in the area as well. There is a person in town trying to ralley people against magic. I haven't taken any action against him, but am slightly worried he might try to act against us. Does the council have any new orders for me?"Free the flame and sear the grasses,

Meanwhile in a mansion somewhere on the west coast. The public speaker was returning home. Not wasting any time he immediately went to his study.

Opening his safe he took out a large leather bound book. Laying it carefully on his table he began studying it.

Without knocking, a woman entered. Carrying an attache case she sat down in front of Micheal. Micheal didn't look up on her arival, without taking his eyes from the book he asked, "Is everything ready?"

"Yes it is, but are you sure you wish to do this?" she asks with concern in her voice, "I mean you have no idea if this will work."

"It will work, it has to." he said while closing the book. The woman could see the book clearly, it was blue colored allthough faded, it had white ridges on it and silver runes on the back. Micheal quickly put it back in the safe and locked the safe. Hanging a painting in front of it again. "Come let's get to our training excersizes." he said as they walked out.

-----

Unnoticed by both in the corner of the room was a small white mouse that saw the conversation. Quickly scurrying back into a hole in the wall, making his way through a tunnel leading away from the mansion.

Anya followed the strange man with guilt coursing through her veins. They weren't from the Council--whatever that was--and should probably have spoke up...

But Anya's curiosity got the best of her. Kaylia walked silently by her side, an equally guilty look on her face. Anya reached over and pinched her.

"Ow!" she whispered, whipping around. Anya slid up next to her without the man noticing and whispered back. "Let's see where this is going..." Kaylia nodded.

They sat in a back room that was as cluttered as the main shop, though many of the things here Anya didn't recognize. The man began to talk, giving them an obviously planned speech. When he stopped with the request for orders, Anya could only stare.

Besides her, Kaylia opened her mouth to speak, an action which tore Anya out of her daze. She reached over and pinched her friend again--"Ow!"--and motioned for her to be quiet.

"This news is grave indeed. The Council has been monitering demonstrations and they have been increasing in number. Feelings against..er...magic," she gulped, quickly turning her pause into a cough. "Excuse me...weather doesn't agree with my allergies. Anyway, fear against magic is on the rise, something that cause great concern as you well know."

"Orders...we can get to that later. The Council has been noticing lately that many misunderstandings have been floating around. This was one of the reasons your report was called in. Your opinion is highly regarded by the Council and it is our hope that these misunderstandings are restricted to...the more...limited members. To be polite. Ahem. So before I tell you of new news within the Council, I need to know what you know about events, recent and not. Uprisings, renegades, new magic...ect. Oh and what tests you are conducting in your search for the spark."

Anya sat back and crossed her legs as if she was ready to settle in for a long conversation. She smiled at Kaylia, hoping the girl would refrain from giving them away. Her hands twisted nervously in her lap, though her expression stayed neutral. She hope ferverntly that the man would take her nervousness as someone who drinks too much coffee...

Magic...oh the possibilities...

Kaylia's light amber eyes widened slightly. She Understood completely what this man was talking about. Kaylia remembered it quite clearly, she had met a man about four years ago, and he had started to train her in magic, and the lore of these returning Gods. She noticed now the predicament that Anya stumbled into.

Kaylia stepped forward, and took the report herself. "I am Kaylia...my surname is unimportant...I was trained by Thorn, if you should have any questions ask him." She shot Anya a sharp look, all shyness, and uncertinty gone from her expression...She knew what she was doing."The world is not enough, but it is such a perfect place to start"

Anya frowned as the man talked. He was being incredibly vague--though someone who knew anything about it probably would have known what he was talking about. But she needed details.

Ah, a report, she thought, looking at the thick wade of paper. Some light reading...

She reached forward eagerly but Kaylia got in the way and took the papers. Anya started to interfere but Kay shot her a dangerous look. Anya stepped back, her expression thoughtful. She almost seems like she knows what this man is talking about... she thought, recognizing that her friend had it all in hand. But the forceful part of her personallity surfaced again and she reached over and took the papers from Kaylia with a quick snap of the wrist.

"Excuse me," she said. Looking down, she read the first page and frowned so that the man could see. "Will you please leave us for a moment? I need to discuss something with Kaylia here."
The man frowned but left the room. Kaylia opened her mouth to give an
angry protest but Anya held up a hand. "I realize that you know more about this than I...that much is obvious. Just give me a minute."

Her green eyes flashed as she read the report. Kaylia tried to read over her shoulder but couldn't keep up with how fast the pages were being turned. "Why are you skimming it? What good will that do?"

Anya ignored her and finished the last page. "57 pages. Damn thorough report," her eyes flashed. "And I didn't skim. Pick a number and I will recite the page. Now then, what the hell is going on and what do you know about all this?"

Kaylia snatched back the report and opened to the middle. She searched through the pages for a minute and then turned to stare at Anya. "These pages aren't numbered..."

Anya simply nodded. "What do you know?"

He gathers some equipment from the shop and brings it to the girls. "Here, hold one of these in each hand," he says, handing a pair of contact leads to Anya. ((OOC: That sounds good Dark. Who are the other two Chosen?

So as it stands magic is limited. Some people have a lot, but very few. A connection between the magical past and present has to be established.

I don't plan on Anya going back in time. Stacey made a deal with Lunitari that if she could prove her worth through the Balance and her wish to bring magic back home, she would be given the power to establish portals between the two times.

For now, Anya is getting her power through Stacey...the more magic Stac gets the more powerful Anya is. But that too is limited. When Stac completes her quest, the two sisters will be united in the present and magic will flow freely between them and between the two times. Does that make sense?

How about this? Stac's quest won't be doing anything in this thread (or any other unless we start them again) but Anya is important for establishing the portals. Let's say that whoever the bad guy is tries to stop Anya from learning magic so the first portal (which needs both sisters in the two times) can never be made.

In fact, I'm going to say at about this time, Stac is becoming an apprentice, which will give Anya a boost of power. She has to learn to control it. Anyone interested in trying to keep her from doing so and letting the magic consume her? :P

Does that work?))

Anya started as the man re-entered the room abruptly and asked who the head of the black robes was.

Black robes...sounds evil...Megan, yeah right, what a name... But it was too late and Kaylia had already nodded. Anya rolled her eyes in frustration and prepared to bolt. But the man didn't seem angry. Instead he looked intriqued.

He brought out a machine and Anya followed his instructions without hestitation. He then did the same with Kaylia and muttered about magic.

Magic? Anya thought, startled. What? Like witches? Telepathy? Anya raised an eyebrow, trying to mantain her skeptical expression but a smile crept slowly onto her severe features. ((Up to you if you notice it or not)) She recalled the report perfectly, and realized that this was no fairy tale. More like an elaborate movie...feasible but too good to be true...

Anya planted herself in front of the man and glared at him till he felt as if he were drowning in chocolate. "Basics are good," she said firmly, getting the hint across easily.

The moment was ruined when a wave of nausea hit the girl and she doubled over. No, she cried silently, as pain laced through her head. An image of a woman in black robes and a great tower fluttered through the haze, then dissapeared.

OOC: Any suggestions will be really appreciated thistledown. As for the other chosen, well that remains to be seen. Just now we will call the White Robe Kathryn and the Red Robe Jean-Paul.

Standing in front of the structure which still had alot of work to be done to it, Martin and Kathryn gazed at the soon to be Tower of high Sorcery. While the Conclave of Mages worked on summoning elementals to aid them in their task, both Kathryn and Martin were working on the perimeter.

They had decided to have three layers in which an individual would have to pass in order to gain entry to the Tower. The outer coating was a detection field in which your level of power and intentions towards visitng the Tower are reviled to the Master of the Tower(Whose position was still to be filled.) The second layer is a forest much like that at the Tower at Wayerth, moving from place to place, finding you instead of you finding it.

The final layer sourrounds the actual Tower, it is an energy field constructed using the most powerful of magicks which Martin, Jean-Paul and Kathryn could summon. Such defenses were risen incase a riot should erupt and the Tower become a target for mobs once again.

The task was intricated and time consuming, not to mention taxing to their stength. There was one more defense and it arrived with Jean-Paul. A Pheniox. It was on a loan, so to speak. Given to Jean-Paul as by Lunitari, it was to act as a gaurdian should the Tower be attacked. Until the flow of magic is fully restored, the Pheniox remains, as the wizards who are to occupying the Tower are not strong enough in magic and the three chosen could do only soo much.

After finishin the perimeter and checking everything over nearly a dozen times, Martin spoke. "Now that, that is finished we can move on to more pressing issues. There are a couple of young ladies which have arisen my interest."

Secondly, are you spelling Phoenix wrong on purpose? I've never heard of Phoenix's on Krynn except for what I have made up myself and they were the guardians of the Order of Centuri...but as they were all for Balance it would make sense that Luni liked 'em. :)))

The wings where huge, the pearly-white feathers gleaming in the light. The Dragon stood...and looked down at her... Kaylia gasped as she noted the symbol etched into the dragon's center chest scale....The symbol of Paladine...

Who are you?? she called out. The dragon regarded her calmly, It's gold eyes level with hers.

"Oh, sorry, that's right. Like the sign says, my name is Gregory Emmett Brown, but please, call me Timesplit." (Emmett L. Brown is Doc in back to the future.) He looks over and sees Anya reading the book. "Interested in Electronics too? (hehe, nice try.) If your looking for spell books, or something like that, don't bother. Aside from a few that I just got, most of my stuff is on the computer. Really helps having it pronounce things for you when you're mostly self-taught. That there is a book my professor gave me. Just like to go through it once in a while. Anyways, let's see."

"Many years ago, ..., no, try this. There is a series of books known as dragonlance. A little under 20 years ago some writers came across an old tome. They managed to contact a person on another world. A man named, Astinus, I belive. Anyways, it seems he was a historian of sorts. He granted them access to the knowledge of his library. Using this, these writers were able to publish, as fiction, a history of the world of Krynn."

"Now, while contact with Krynn had been very rare, it has increased in the last few years. But magic here didn't start with the writers. Far in the past, beings from krynn located earth. They gave it the gift of magic. They would keep watch on us from time to time, but prefered to take a very passive role. On krynn, however, these beings, which termed themselves gods, were very active in the world. Starting about a thousand years ago, they stopped coming here as often. Eventually, they stopped coming alltogather. During this time, they were apparently having problems on Krynn, and were not able to take the time away to come to earth, for lack of a better term."

"Now, recently, I'm not quite sure why, they have again taken an interest in Earth. They have brought back magic to the world . And that brings us to modern times."

"Recently, 3 people were chosen to lead the return of magic in the world. In addition, a council was established to govern the magic use in this world. Much of our work is modeled after the order of magic on krynn. Here, as there, magic use is divided into 3, well, 4 factions. The White robes, the Red robes, and the Black robes. These designate which path the mage wishes to follow, and also which god of magic they follow. Whenever a mage is certified, he is forced to choose a color. Also, they agree to follow the rules set down by the council. Each of the groups is regarded as equal and try to get along whenever they can."

"But you said there were 4 factions," Anya interupted.

"Yes, there is a fourth. That of the renegades. Those that refuse to follow the rulling of the council or to choose a color are branded renegades. On krynn, they are hunted down and punished by the council. Here, however, the council is not strong enough. In fact, the council has to use renegades these days just to keep up membership."

Michael was in his fitness room working out, when one of his butlers walked in.
"Um sir?" he said carefully.
"Yes, what is it." Michael said slightly annoyed.
"The artifact you wanted brought here has arrived." he said.
"Good." he said and he went to change.

When he came back he went to his study, opened the safe and took out the book. Book in hand he made his way through the long hallway of his mansion. The same woman from earlier came up to him and matched his stride. "Don't forget about the party tonight." she said.
"Don't wory I'll be ready." He replied.

He went down into the basement where there were lot's of ancient artifacts. Standing in the middle of the room was a large wooden box.

"Well open it." he said to one of the men standing next to it.

"This is the one you wanted delivered first." a man in expensive clothing said, "There are a lot more objects which require carefull study at the site. This one also requires better studying. And..." he silenced at a motion from Michael.

The crate was opened and the side were removed. Blankets covering the object were also removed. Michael gazed at it with marvel. He placed the book on a nearby table and started searching through it.
"It's exactly the same." He said satisfied.

The object a black standing oval, sort of like a mirror. But there wasn't any glass in the center, just an empty space. It was very worn and chipped, but one could easily make out five heads of lizard or dragons. It had an ominous feel about it.

"Have you found a suitable person for it?" Michael asked.

"Yes we have found some that show potential." the woman, who had followed, replied. "One girl in particular has drawn our attention. We are preparing action for her capture. We can have her in by tomorrow."

"Good. Proceed with the plan." he said as they all leaved.

The object remaining there in the dark.

Amist the turmoil of people gasping in shock and fear, and the more dramatic screams, Martin continued to walk down the path until he passed a particular shop. Stopping, he walked up to the door. A powerful force of magic was very close by. Opening the door, he walked in. It was a shop, selling what looked to be electronics. He paid no attention to the shop, he was still trying to pin point the sorce of the magic, but his 'vision' was hazy.

A man walked up to him, looking at Martin rather suspicously.

"Timesplit! By the Dark Son i haven't seen you in years... just one thing before we go through the back. What is the force of magic that i can sense in here, it's somewhat overpowering." Martin spoke.

Waving the question away with a gesture of his hand, Timesplit lead Martin into a back room where sat two young women both appeared to be studying from books. However when one of the girls looked up into Martin's eyes, the force he felt overtook him and the room spun around him. The hidden power behind those eyes could rival that of the Gods themselves.

Anya watched Timesplit leave to take care of some customers, and then turned to speak to Kaylia. But another wave of nausea washed over the teen and she sat down instead, pretending to study the electronics book again. Her olive eyes blurred, though, the written words with them.

Suddenly she was elsewhere, in a large room. Features waved and voices spoke in whispers, but the words were unintelligable to the young human. Before her lay a large piece of black stone, the only thing that managed to stay in focus for more than a few seconds.

The Rosetta Stone? she thought, swaying on her feet. But no, it was nothing like the Stone...

Dragons...a dragon of five heads, of all colors and none...Anya screamed, though no sound came from her throat...the colors waved, the blackness thickened...

Anya awoke screaming. Her eyes focused, but saw nothing by dragons...energy crackled through the air, building...

Blood pounded through her veins, faster...too fast. Tension welled within her back till she thought her spine would break from the pressure...

Building, waiting to explode...

She continued to scream...

((OOC: You guys (if you're still interested in this) can get me at home.))

Anya slipped through her front door, her breath coming in gasps. She had left the electronics shop quietly and all had been too preoccupied to notice. She leaned back against the smooth wood of her front door, eyes closed, shaking.

Slowly her chocolate eyes opened and she gazed at her house. It was a strange house--big and comfortable, but not hers. Anya closed her eyes again and was home. In her mind she saw the smooth, white walls of her home, bright and roomy. To her right sat a rarely used dinning room, filled with beautiful knicknacks of crystal, a silk green tablecloth, glasses laced with golden leaves...everything in its place, everything proper...except for a coat and backpack thrown carelessly over one plush chair. Anya smiled.

To her left sat the most used room in the house. A comfy, green futon sat across from a small entertainment center sporting a N64, Gamecube, VCR, and tv. Next to that sat a small cockatiel who looked up from his preening and whistled a greeting. A small beep sounded from the computer which sat in a large desk laden with an organized mess of papers. Anya headed for the large black chair that was her second home...

...and tripped over a small couch. She was back here, back in Pennsylvania. She sighed and headed for the back of the house, where her computer sat, beeping to high hell.

She grinned as she sat in the black chair. It was hers even if the house wasn't. She fired up the Gamecube and sat back, content to shoot at TIE fighters till her mother got home.

beep Hello.

Anya squealed in delight and then blushed, glad her friend couldn't see her red face. She typed a greeting back to her best friend and resumed her destruction of the evil TIE's.

Shooting TIEs again?

How did you know?

I'm good like that. X-wing?

Anya grinned. No, the Falcon. And before you ask, it handles like a drunken brick. In her mind's eye, Anya pictured Brian sitting before his computer, sighing.

I'll never understand you and Steve...Star Wars really isn't that great you know.

*gasp* I had no idea you felt that way!! Anyways, you don't have to understand me.

And why is that?

Cuz I don't understand you. Haven't we had this conversation before?

Probably. So how 'bout them Yanks?

Anya grinned again and replied. Their lighthearted conversation went on for several minutes before she heard something she had never heard before in this strange house. I think there's someone here... She pictured him shuddering. He was easily creeped-out.

She stood and crept through the kitchen slowly, following a strange shadow...

As she walks into the kitchen she doesn't see anyone. Suddenly she was grabbed from behind. A piece of cloth was put at her nose. An acrid odor filled her nose, and slowly everything went dark. All she could hear was something that resembled "Get the bag."

---------

From across the street a nosy neighbor could see a black van (always a black van) parked in front of Anya her house. The front door slowly opened and two dark figures, carrying a large bag between them, came out. They put the bag they were carrying in the back of the van. The doors slammed shut and the van drove of. Thinking it was nothing the nosy neighbor went back to watching soap reruns.

Anya rolled over in her sleep, the first sign that she was waking. Had anyone been watching--and it was likely someone was--they might have wondered if she was still breathing as her sleep was so still. But then she moved, finally, and appeared to go back to sleep.

Though, of course, she didn't. It occured to her that she was dreaming, dreaming that she was on a hard bed rather than her waterbed, dreaming that the sounds of her house had changed. She often had waking dreams rather than deep sleep dreams and at first it didn't bother her.

But then, it didn't go away. Didn't shift as dreams do. She sat up and glanced around. This was no dream.

The hard bed wasn't a bed at all, but a couch surrounded by end tables filled with exotic items. Anya at once had the urge to touch all the obviously expensive things in the room, pick them up and gauge their worth. She resisted this urge, however, and not because it wasn't her stuff.

Abruptly, she was off of the couch and across the room, moving too fast for someone who had just woken up. The door was locked, as she had figured, and the windows, too. She didn't recognize the surrounding area though that wasn't surprising. She hadn't cared much to learn about her relatively new home.

Ignoring the food and water pitcher that has obiously been set out for her use, Anya sat back on the couch, outwardly content to wait, inwardly, seething. Whoever had brought her here better have a great explanation...or they were going to regret it. "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

She got up and walked to it. Her fingers lightly touched the acrylic paint. She felt as if this dragon was more than just a painting and a dream...something that was somehow a part of her. She frowned agian and then yawned. She stretched and grabbed the brush on her nightstand, and brushed out the tangles from her platinum blonde hair as she thought.

By the time she had the platinum strands smooth and shining, she still was no closer to understand what was going on. She sighed as she pulled on the broom skirt, and the peasant style shirt. She put her platinum necklace around her neck, and fingered the odd symbols gently. She wondered if the man at that shop knew what it ment. The power to save the world...rests within a Child's Heart

Anya glared at the man that walked into "her" room, glared at him when he mentioned the cameras--taking it as if he were mocking her intelligence--and impaled him with a look when he suggested she get dressed.

After he left, Anya weighed her options. The man seemed nice enough, but considering the way she had been forced from her house, the niceness was probably just because he wanted something.

Well, of course he wants something!! You're a freakin' genius!! she thought angerily. She felt embarassed too...the fact that she was wearing something other than her clothes meant someone had undressed her.

Anger welled up within the young human till she wanted to burst through the door and kick that guy's face in. However, he was probably ready for something like that, unless he was stupid...

No, that was too much to hope for. Deciding to vent her anger and then calm down, Anya took one of the expensive vases that sat in the decorated room and smashed it against the wall. It broke into a million fragments and Anya smiled at the chaos of it. The doorhandle jiggled as if someone was coming to investigate, then stopped.

Anya took a deep breath and got dressed quickly in the clothes they had set out. She stopped and glanced at the food as she passed, but decided she wasn't hungry enough to risk a drugging...not yet at least. She had seen too many movies for that.

Slipping on her shoes which had been layed by the door, she walked over, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door to signal she was ready. "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

Kaylia moaned softly in her restless sleep. In her dreams, she saw the dragon again. That Dragon from her painting. The Creature was huge...the size of a football feild at least. Kaylia stood frozen as she stared at the brilliant crystalline scales, at the opalesant feathers on the wings. The Dragon lowered it's head so that It's golden eyes where level with Kaylia's amber ones.

You are my future Kaylia...My family....as I am your past...your ancestor. The dragon murmered softly.

Kaylia stumbled back in her dream as she stared at the dragon. THe dragon started, and wipped her head up looking away from Kaylia. Your friend is in much danger....you have to help her. A bright flash of light emminated from the dragon, and standing before Kaylia was a human woman...about 23-24 in appearance.

Kaylia stared in shock at the woman. The woman's hair was a few shades lighter than her own platinum blonde hair. what shocked her the most was that their features where identical...

"Who are you?" Kaylia muttered, in both the real world and in her dream.

The woman smiled...to my Adoptive human family, and my closest friends, I am Kalia Majere" Kalia said softly.

"Kalia Majere!" Kaylia exclaimed in surprise(she said this in the real world too.). she had heard the name was once famous in history...many many centuries ago.

"To most others I am known as Glimmer...and to the Dragons I am known as Crystalamira, Daughter of Paladine."

Kaylia murmered the names to herself(yes you two hear this in the waking world.) as she reached out her hand. "I must go...THis tires me child...Help your friend...Go to her home...You will find what you need there."

--------

Kaylia snapped awake. Her pale amber eyes wide as she looked around her. She was back in Timesplit's shop. "Anya is in trouble!" She managed before their odd expressions on their faces registered in her mind. "What?" she asked, her platinum hair falling in her eyes.

Only then did she feel the warmth raidiating from the platinum pendant around her neck. She looked down and held the metal disk in her hands. A bright light shone from it, a light and warmth that healed her body, and filled her soul.

Anya heard spidery words that sent a shiver down her spine. An invisible force only added to the feeling, hauling her off the ground as it she were a broken doll and freezing her skin when it touched.

For once, Anya's subtle expression aided her and betrayed the fear she felt. Her eyes returned Michael's gaze cooly, even as she choked on panic.

He said something she barely heard but she got the message. The invisible force retracted and Anya almost lost her balance on the way down to the ground. Her reflexes were aware of everything, though, even if her mind wasn't.

The young human took a moment to get control of her feelings. She had often wondered how she would react in a situation like this...by the look on Michael's face she was doing much better than it seemed from her end.

The two strongarms made escape impossible...not that that was needed. Anya was both too mad and too damn curious to even think about running away. She decided to push him and see how hard he pushed back.

"Yes," she answered, "all that remains is the right time."

"Good." he said.

They walked on through the house, down corridors. They eventually reach a small staircase downward. It keeps winding down, ending with a large door. With a few words from Micheal the door swung silently open.

They entered a laboratory. But one that seemed straight out of a bad horro movie. With too many ornaments, and leather bound books. Standing there in the center of the room, was a large black oval. Standing upright, with nothing in the center. Strange worn headlike tings adorned it.

There were allready some people inside, working on various flasks and studying books. Strange odor flowed through the air, constantly giving another smell.

The one thing that seemed odd, in the room was the computer terminal. Which seemed in contrast to the rest, strait out af a sci-fi movie.

"You are probably wondering, what a man like me is doing campainging against magic." he asked, but he continued without waiting for an answer. "Well as long as people believe that I am against magic, they won't notice my nice little laboratory. And won't tie any magic related accident to me. "You're still a hypocrite, and terribly cliche..." she returned, though it was without much conviction.

Anya gazed around the room, her olive eyes wide. She couldn't believe this, wouldn't believe this...it was exactly like that one movie she had seen--what was that called?--down to the misty vapor that seemed to come from nowhere.

Horrid odors assaulted her and Anya held her breath. She silently thanked her allergies, which had always hindered any physical acivity she might do by making her breathing shallow, but now it was a god's send, she barely had to breath at all.

A god's send...she sighed. God was nowhere and she was here and this was real. She began to shake uncontrollably and stuck her trembling hands in her pockets. A cold wave flowed over her tense body as her blood seemed to slow and freeze. The young human clenched her teeth and tried her best to relax, effectively hiding her nervous reaction.

A pleased look came to Micheal's face, when he saw the young woman in fear.

"Come," he said, "there is still time. Let's see what your potential is." And she was led to an annexing room. This on with more books, the only smell was the musty smell of old books. In the center was a book on the table. "Read from it." he commanded her.

The book itself was quite tattered. But the nightblue cover was still clearly visible. The bone white binders slightly faded. The one thing that was still clear, were silver runes on the front and ridge.

Anya moved slowly to the table in front of her. Michael nor his secretary made any move to hasten her progress towards the ancient book, instead silently watching with anticipation in their eyes.

The young human looked at the book in awe, memorizing the tattered features, the deep blue coverings and pure white bindings. Silver symbols covered the front and side.

With a slightly trembling hand, Anya reached forward and touched what she assumed was the title. She couldn't read these runes...didn't know why he had asked her to...

Her hand jerked back. Anya stared at it and Michael's shadow drew in a sharp breath. Her hand was not burned...it just tingled...

She causiously reached down a second time. The feeling returned as she came in contact with the soft leather but then faded. Anya shrugged in unconscious and unintentional apology and turned to Michael. Disapointment appeared in his eyes for a mere second and then he frowned.

"Read it," he commanded again, giving a sharp gesture towards the book. Anya turned back and muttered under her breath but she hadn't the courage to speak up or defy him, even though her mind told her to.

She opened to the first page. There was no tingling sensation at all now and the writing inside was just as foreign as the cover. She was about to turn back and tell Michael to shove the book up his ass--or at least try to tell him that between the nervous chattering of her teeth--when a gust of air came whistling through the room and nearly knocked the human off her feet.

Shouts rang across the room as Michael and his assistant struggled against the gale. Spidery words were said and lights flashed. To them, a protective shield seemed to have sprung up around the girl, one they could not dispell nor penetrate.

To Anya...all at once the walls and sounds of the musty room desolved into a whirling vortex of red. A calm came over her as the vortex hurled the world away while she stood still within the eye...

All at once the world focused again. Anya gasped softly. The book was still there, on the table before her, but the scenery had changed. She was in a forest, voices in the distance...

Strangly intriqued, the human reached forward. Her hand pressed against some unseen solid. She couldn't step in any direction, save for closer to the table.

The voice was coming closer now and Anya realized it was someone singing...someone familiar...

In all her splender, Stacey suddenly walked into view, singing Weezer at the top of her lungs. Anya stared. Her sister looked the same as when she had last been seen and yet different...she was wearing a sword and long red cape, seemingly stronger then she had been...far from the pale, weakling computer nerd she had been...

Anya watched her sister with longing, waiting to be noticed, waiting to ask Stacey where the hell she'd been all this time...but her sister's chocolate eyes never turned towards Anya. Instead she wandered through the forest, stopping before a dead tree. She raised one slender hand and muttered something. A fireball issued forth from her fingertips.

Anya rocked back, stunned as if she had been hit by that fireball rather than the dead tree. A warmth flowed through her body...

"Stacey!" she shouted, but the vortex came back and whisked her away from her unhearing sister. She found herself back in the room, Michael and his shadow running towards her...

She sank to the ground and the leather book, knocked by the receding winds, fell into her hands, open. Olive eyes peered down and watched in amazement as the runes squiggled and reshaped before her eyes. Just before Michael reached her, the human began to read...

((OOC: If I remember correctly (Ha!) I said that Anya was getting her magic through her sister. This was just the conduit opening up all the way. Let me know if that doesn't fit. ))"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and

Taking the orb from Timesplit, he mumbled something unintelligable and sat down in an empty space on the floor. Withdrawing a small vile from his inside pocket, he snapped the cork stopper off and emptied the foul smelling liquid into his lef palm.

Dipping his index finger from his right hand, into the liquid which was starting to drip between Martin's fingers, he traced a circle of the stuff around his self. Finishing that, he brought his palms together so that the liquid covered both hands, he then picked up the orb and began chanting.

Lights of every colour danced around him. Silent lightning eminated from the orb. Martin let his palms go, but the orb floated in air were it was left. Opening his eyes, he looked into the orb, to see a picture of Anya, crouched by a table witha book on it. He could feel a great power, it fogged the vision somewhat, but he over came it.

The picture clearing,, Martin focused on the book. It was black, with silver runes and a night blue binding. Suddenly , he realised who the book use to belong to...then a force began stop his scrying. It was surprisingly powerful. He had to maintain a high level of concentration...but it availed to nothing. With a loud crack the orb split and Martin was thrown across the room onto the wall with a THUD!

Slightly shaken, more from anger than what had just happened. Who dared use such power against him. And also from fear. The book...he must find out where Anya was and how she came into possesion of that book.

Timesplit rumages through more of his equipment, and emerges with some wires and a small box. He clips the wires onto Kaylia's left and right hands, then goes over to the box. "Martin, move away a second." As Martin moves away, Timesplit presses a button on the box, which sends a tiny electric buzz through Kaylia's body. Anya clenched her fists. Michael was too damn calm for her right now. Calm meant control. She decided that she would have rather he had exploded.

With no other real options, she followed Rodger to the dinning room. He lead the way slowly and stuttered when she asked absently what they would be eating. She could have sneezed and he probably would have had a heart-attack...but then where would she be? There was more to this place than met the eye. She found herself wondering where Michael had gone and asked Rodger.

He, of course, couldn't or wouldn't answer. But it was worth it to see him pale and his clear eyes start to roll into the back of his head. Good to know, she thought. Good to know.
