The girl smiled with relief, the Circle was complete. He was shut out...for now. She stood silent, her long, flowing starr-studded black dress fell down to her ankles. Her shoulder-length curly brown hair was loose, and her odd, hazel-green eyes where closed. she held out her hands for the a moment, then brought them above her head.

"Honored Maiden Huntress, Artemis, New Moon, Come to me....Silver Shining wheel of raidiance, Mother come to me....Honored Queen of Wisdom Hecate, Old one come to me. By the air that is her breath, by the Fire of her bright spirit, by the waters of her Womb, by the earth that is her body."

she said softly, but with a stong steady voice, in spite of the angered magics going on outside of her circle. the anger buffeted uselessly against the boundry of the Circle. She could sense his anger, and his fury. The angered wind took on a breif form of a shadow wolf, pacing angrily just outside the boundry, its teeth bared, saliva dripping to fade to nothingness.

Quickly, she tore her gaze from the creature less she become as a deer before the light of a car.

"Great Goddess, Mother of all I, MidnightStarr Beseech thee! Great God, Father of all, I MidnightStarr Beseech thee! Patron god Ares, God of War. Patron Goddess Bast, mistress of magic and Cats. I call thee!! help me in my time of need...Protect me from the evil that wants to destroy me." Instantly the girl could sense a bright light surround her, a feeling of warmth that shut out the chill anger that continued to worry at the circle's edge. she felt as it the Mother Herself wraped her in Her all embracing arms.

She could feel the anger grow outside of the cirlce barrier, grow untill the soft blue glow began to fade from the cirlce.

Do not fear child...you are safe...I will take you to a place and a realm that will help you... came a disctinctly female voice ....a voice that sounded both young and old at the same time, Innocent and Wise.

the white light flashed brightly for a moment, then faded all together...The Girl barely noticed that a part of the shadow followed.

Weak from the exertion, the Girl slipped unconcious, she felt cool marble beneth her, but she payed it no mind.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Conclave stood, each the three stood dumbfounded. Par-salian took quick charge. Lodonna and Justarius shook off their shock and too took action. The Girl was transported immediately to a safe room, locked from the outside. While the girl slept off her exhaustion the Three conversed, as they wondered how she had managed to materialize in the heart of the Tower, where she had come from, who she was....and what the five point star in the circle amulet she wore ment.

Finally, Par-salian shook his head, and frowned. "the only way to know is to find out. send another mage to wake the girl...bring her here.""If you don't fight for the precious things that you desire, people will take them away from you."

Jadalyn walked down the hall, bordered by doors ever few feet. These were the sleeping quarters, mostly for visitors. with the safe rooms at the end of the hall, with a resident mage's room on either side. Coming up to the last of these safe rooms, she knocked on the door gently. Pressing her ear up agains the door, she didn't hear any sounds from inside, so unlocked the door and opened it slowley, cautiously. As she walked over to the bed, she pondered why they'd selected HER to wake the girl and take her to the council. "I suppose its due to my recent expertise in people randomly showing up" she chuckled to herself ((see "sweet home chicago for more details)). She stepped beside the bed, and gently nudged the sleeping girl on the shoulder. Seeing no effect, she dipped her hand in the washing bowl and sprinkled the girl's face with the cool, clear water.************Dutchess Of Dork**********

The girl sat up immediately, her hazel eyes open wide. "what?!" she cried looking around confused. Her hand went reflexively to the Star pendant around her neck. "where in the Name of the Goddess am I" she breathed softly. then, as if just realizing that the other girl was here she lookd up at her. She smiled softly at Jadalyn. "Merry Meet...who are you?" she asked as she set her feet on the floor.

"and where am I?" She ran her fingers nervously through her curly brown hair and smoothed down the long whispy black sparkly dress."If you don't fight for the precious things that you desire, people will take them away from you."

((OOC: Okay, is it okay if this is after Sweet Home Chicago? I'll be Stacey, apprentice to Jadelyn!! Is that okay?))

Stacey glanced up and brushed her obsidian hair from her chocolate eyes. It was late...no...early. She yawned, though her exhaustian was nothing compared what it had been through the first quarter of her junior year. Here she could sleep as late as she wanted and often did. Jadelyn was quick to tease her about it...

Looking over to the opposite end of her room, the young human checked the hourglass that she had rigged to central standard time complete with digital numbers in both Common and English.

"Ah, the benefits of red robed illusions..." she muttered, stretching. It was 4 in the morning. She had been pouring over several spells for hours, translating them to English. She was determined to use as little words as possible and when she couldn't; find a way to use her native tongue. The apprentice was convinced that set spells could be in any language as long as the feeling was right. She had the idea that she was breaking away from conventional magic, using her knowledge of science to compliment her astonding progress in soccery.

Putting her scrolls and pen, a real pen that she had in her backpack when "taken", she stood up stiffly. She wondered what Jadelyn was doing and sent her a message of magic, one of her strange talents, akin, she hoped, to telepathy...the message asked simply "Wazzzz up??" a question that never failed to annoy Stacey's black robed master.

((ooc: sure! i figured this would be after that anyways - and I realized I forgot to describe myself!))

"Uh, merry meet young lady... I am Jadalyn, you are in the tower of sorcery at Waywerth, I am one of the resident mages here... You appeared in the middle of the council hall, but as we could tell you are also a mage, we have put you in one of our safe rooms until you were recovered. Now you need to come with me, you must meet Par-Salian." Jadalyn started walking back out the door, her black velvet robes just barely above the stone floor. She turned to make sure the girl was able to stand. "Do you need assistance? C'mon, you can tell me about yourself on the way" Jadalyn was interuppted with a loud "WAZZZ UP" in her head. She concentrated. "NOT NOW" she replied, knowing exactly who was trying to summon her. "I am taking the newcomer to Par-Salian, but stay close, they may want you to meet her afterwards"
to the girl she said "Are you ready? Let us depart."********Dutchess Of Dork******

The girl stood, and extended her hand politely. "My name is Heather, But most of my Circle call me MidnightStarr....Starr, or Middie for short." she paused for a second as what Jadalyn said sunk in.

"Tower of Sorcery?? Waywerth?? Mages???" she asked, her hazel-Jade colored eyes widening. "wait a minute...this sounds like something out of the Twilight zone...." She mumbled, looking around with even more interest. "Oh Goddess, what have I gotten myself into??" she mused as she centered herself, and calmed her breathing.

as her mind calmed, she began to sense a presence....that dark shadowed presence of the evil that caused the chain of events that brought her here.
"Galladon (pronounced Gal-la-Don) but how...how could he have followed me..??" she whispered as she once again grasped at the silver star that hung around her neck."If you don't fight for the precious things that you desire, people will take them away from you."

Jadalyn could feel Stacy in the room - upon Heather mentioning the "twighlight zone" whatever that was, Stacy sent her an urgent message. But before she could reply Jadalyn sensed a presence of pure evil and hatred. She shook it off, hoping it was just a mage doing an experiment elsewhere, till she noticed Heather/MidnightStarr was aware of it as well. "Who is this Galladon you speak of? Followed you from where?" The other mages had shown some concern over the girl's amulet, they did not recognize the symbol on her pendant. But it obviously was a source of comfort/power for the girl. "Come dear, you're safe. We must go speak with Par-Salian now."********Dutchess Of Dork******

Stacey crept silently beside a wall, invisible, and curious. This new girl was strange, and seemingly nervous. Stacey laughed softly. She could relate. Par-Salin had yet to show up, so the young apprentice took the opportunity to study the newcomer. Her curly brown hair framed her confused expression as she peered about with hazel-green eyes. Stacey smiled sadly. Those eyes, never truely hazel nor green, reminded her of her lost father. He had had the same eyes, though her, her mother and brother all had brown eyes. She sighed and began to listened, though nothing interesting was said until she heard the words, "Twilight zone". She straightened quickly, and sent a message to her master.

"Did she say 'Twilight Zone'??" Jadelyn ignored her and Stacey was about to press the point when a shudder ran up and down her body. She frowned. She was known to shudder when tense but life was so good lately, she had felt more relaxed then in all the years of her life.

A moment later a wave of sharp fear passed and the mage gasped. A feeling of pure hatred washed over her and the room, sweeping the marble walls with an impenatrable cold. Clenching her eyes shut, the apprentice rode it out and then looked up. Her chocolate eyes focused on the silver star around the girl's neck with a hopeless fervor and Stacey found that she could not look away from the glittering medallion.

Heather looked up at Jadelyn and then quickly looked away....she did not wish to burden anyone with her personal problems. "Its nothing...forget it...." She looked down, and softly chanted to herself.

Goddess, Kali, Destroyer, fearsome one. Help me to overcome this fear that has a hold on me. and drown it in your bloody sea. Consume this demon known as fright, protect me with your awesome might. Lend you strength and help me face whatever comes into my space. Aid me now, oh Ancient One....As I will, so it be done!

As she uttered her last word, Heather felt the warmth of the goddess reach out to her, the Ancient Power of the Crone, Kali, banishing the fear
from Heather's heart.

suddenly, she felt someone's stare upon her. Heather looked up to stare directly at Stacey, Her Hazel-Jade eyes locked onto Stacey's brown ones. Heather seemed about to say something when Par-Salian walked in, followed by Lodonna, and Justarius.

Simon walked into the council hall. Nobody paid any attention whatso ever to him. It seemed that the invisability spell was working perfectly. The new girl was in the room with par-salin and the other heads of the orders. Over to one of the sides was stacy standing and watching. It seemed she did not want to be seen. Simon chuckled to himself. Simon moved across the huge chambers, his robes making little wisking noices as he went along. But no one noticed. The huge ceiling and large walls made it hard to her little noises at all at times. Simon walked closer to the wall that stacy was hiding by. He crept as close to her as he could. Then reached out and tugged on the back of her robes.
" Can i help you with somthing." He whispered into her ear.......

OOC: I'm doing all three of the conclave for now, but I only want to stick with Par-salian, feel free to take any of the others.
Par-Salian stepped out of his huddle with Ladonna and Justarias as the girl aproached the conclave. He took his seat in the middle seat. "Girl, you are in the presence of the Conclave of Wayreth. It is we you disturbed by teleporting into here so dramaticlly."
His face becomes a stern mask. Now, renegade, you will tell us your name, the name of your teacher, the name of any other renegade you know, and what in the Abyss happened to you to send you here. In return, the conclave will pledge to let you go, free, as long as you promise not to overuse magic."
The other mages nodded in agreement. This was obviously a renegade mage. She was listed in none of the books of the Orders, and she was certainly no cleric. Ladonna smirked. She had advocated questioning the gir in...other manners, but Par-Salian had decided otherwise, and Justarias had sided with him.

Heather stood, and faced the conclave. She was puzzled by Par-Salian's questions...for she had no clue as to what he wanted from her.

"My name is Heather...I go by the name MidnightStarr...And forgive me for disrupting you...I had no idea that when I had called out for help...that I would be sent here."

Heather paused and stared back at the three, her Hazel-jade eyes direct, and non-threatening. "I do not know what you mean by renegade....but as far as my teacher goes, His name is Wayne Stansfield...He goes by the name of Young Turtle...."

She stopped, knowing that nothing she said was helping at all. While she spoke, Justarius studied her intently. Silently, he noted the clothes that she wore where odd, and of an extremely fine make. The dress was made of an odd material, seeming like silk, but not. To a first glance, the fabric looked like it was studded with tiny sewn on crystals..but, on a closer lookk, he could see that the sparkles where a Part of the fabric...Clearly not of Krynn....just like one other..... Justarius looked over to Stacey for a brief instant as the connection was made.

"Where are you from?" He asked, before Par-Salian could say anything else.

Heather looked nervous for a moment, as she looked back at him. Then, swallowing hard, She spoke.

"I come from a small city, In the State of Ohio...." she said softly."If you don't fight for the precious things that you desire, people will take them away from you."

Stacey stared into the girl's eyes as if held by a spell. She could not look away, no matter how hard she tried. She sighed in relief when the Heads of the Conclave appeared and blinked rapidly, listening intently to what they had to say. A renegade? No...

"Ah!" she shrieked, clapping a hand over her mouth. Simon was standing close enough that she could feel his breath. "Don't do that!" she hissed, instantly hearing the Simpsons play over in her head. He started to say something but she glared, and if looks could kill...he shut up and turned to listen to the meeting.

Stacey turned back in time to exchange looks with Justarius. She liked him a lot and they were of like-minds, though she had turned down his offer to apprenticeship. The young mage instantly got his meaning and turned pale beneath her tan. A moment later the word Ohio intruded on her entirely too complicated world and Stacey, for the first time in her existance, fainted.Good becomes ignorant.

Jadalyn had heard Stacey in the room, and said nothing, but when she heard her shriek she began to worry. She resolutley turned to Par Salian, intent on concentrating on the interrogation. When Justarius began speaking, she turned towards him, and in doing so had Stacey in the corner of her eye. Then she saw Stacey falling to the floor - unconsious! Jadalyn started running to Stacey - She had to catch her before her head hit the hard marble floor, but she was too far away. She was about to mentaly inventory her catalogue of spells for something that might help, when she noticed two hands reaching around Stacey's waist, from behind?! Stacey stopped falling just a few inches off the ground, and then the hands genlty lowered her to the floor. Abover her unconsious form stood a mage - clad in black robes, similar to Jadalyn's ((a little bird told me you're usually a black mage simon:) )). She'd seen him in the hallways, but never been introduced. "Sir, thank you for saving my friend. My name is Jadalyn, and you are? Heather turned towards the sudden commotion. She had tried to walk over to help, when Two other mages reached out to stop her.

"Hey!! What's the big Idea?? I only want to help!!" she cried as both grabbed an arm, restraining her.

Suddenly, as before, the presence of hate, and anger once again flooded the room. in Heathers mind, she could hear the familiar evil laughter and the all too familiar slippery voice. You can't be rid of me that easily

Heather went ridged in her captor's arms. She couldn't deal with this...She was lost, more scared than she had ever been, and now He was playing games with her.

"No!! "No...Leave her alone!" Stacey's voice rose in the great hall, startling all. Her eyes fluttered, her hand reaching out and then falling to the ground. Her sweet voice filled the stunned silence.

"Sometimes I can't move my feet it seems...as if I'm stuck in the ground somehow like a tree...as if I can't even breath, when the screams that come whispering out...as if nobody can even see...like a ghost sometimes I can't see myself...sometimes...

The two mages flanking Heather dropped their arms in stunned silence. Instantly, Heather rushed forward dropping to her knees at Stacey's side. Quickly, she found a small pack of matches in her pocket. The girl was mumbling incoherently, and to Heather's surprise, she recoginized the song that the Girl was singing.

"If I had it all...." She mumbled as she struck one of the matches. The little flame sprung up like a tiny star in her hand. as quickly as she Lit the match, Heather blew it out. The smoke and sharp scent of Sulfur wafted towards Stacey.

Heather paled and nodded. "someone who has had a personal vendetta against me for years....I believe you have already heard me say his name. His Magic, is on the opposite side of the spectrum from me....same magic, same principles, but a twisted, selfish mind...bent on getting whatever he desires." She said softly, her hazel-Jade eyes closing in painful rememberance.

"I was trying to protectmyself from him, but my sheilds where buckling under his persistance. I Called out to the Goddess to help me....but when I did, I had no Idea that She would do something like this.......And now...he has followed me here..."

Suddenly feeling more at ease with Jadalyn, Heather began to tell more about herself. Par-Salian, Justarius, and Lodonna allowed her to speak.

"I am 23 years old, my birthday is one week before midsummer. I am a wiccan, or in my world, a Witch." The room became so silent with that word, you could hear everyone breathe. "We Wiccans are the holders of the old ways...Witchcraft isn't the norm in my world, We are basiccaly shunned now, but centuries ago, we where burned or hung....mostly just for using herbal cures to help the sick."

"Forgive me, But I agree with Jadalyn...My magic is different from yours...Different magics tend to ignore each other...If I where to cast a spell here, what ever i did would do as i wanted it to...within reason of course..."

Quickly, Heather raised both hands to the celing. she gathered her energy about her, feeling it gather in her body like the warmth of sunlight on her skin. as she did, she gathered another sheild around her. the shimmering bubble was cear to all.

as the bubble formed, and gaind solidity, Heather chanted in a clear tone.

Wise Hecate, bless me please, and all that does belong to me. Bless my work and my endeaveors. Protect me and keep me safe. From every Hex and negative thought, from every place that harm is wrought, from every evil that is allowed, protect me, Wise one, Guard me now.

Help me to walk in harmony, with every stone and bird and tree, with every creature on this world. Let me live in joy and mirth. That I may always be their friend and gain their protection till this life ends. Oh Wise Hecate, watch over me...Untill my soul, at last, is freed..

With each word, the bubble became more solid, untill it expanded to a circle around her. on the edges people could see violet-blue flames lick the air outside of the bubble. to those who where closest, the flames gave no smoke, and where cool, not searing hot."I prefer to be called a Treasure hunter....Its not my fault that people don't guard their valubles as well as they should..."

The three heads of the Orders, as well as the entire conclave jumped to thier feet, offensive and defensive spells ready to be cast. Par-Salian was the first to see that nothing else was happening, besides the shield forming. However, he did not sit down, nor did the othermages.
"Girl, you will remove that force now!" he shouted. "Now, I say, or we will take it as an offensive action!" The emotion in his voice was clear. Fear dominated it. No enemy had ever reached the Hall of the Conclave with its powers intact and of such magnitude. And this girl had been thrown here with ease, and formed the shield with such power...
Par-Salian was not used to fear. "Drop it, now!"

"Drop it, now!" Par-Salian shouted, his voice filled with wild fear. Stacey's jaw dropped slightly in surprise. Moving quickly, she took her place between Jadelyn and Justarius. Laying a slender hand on Justarius's shoulder, for only he could calm Par-Salian, she caught his attention and shook her head slightly. He nodded back and Stacey was gone, moving with silent speed as close to the bubble as she could. She spoke softly in English.

Heather understood Par-Salian's fear...she met that same fear every day of her life...and eventually helped people to understand.

with a wave of her hand, the sheild faded. She closed her eyes and whispered. Thank you Mighty Hecate...for your help and protection...

"forgive my actions...I had to show you that If I could do such a thing here...My tormentor could just as easily. I did not ask to come here...The Goddess, Mother of all saw fit to send me here...why, I do not know... But, I am the cause and the only hope against this evil...for though your magic is strong, and while it May protect you from him, I do not believe that it will destroy him...."

She said these words calmly...only the slightest trace of fear in her eyes."I prefer to be called a Treasure hunter....Its not my fault that people don't guard their valubles as well as they should..."

Listening to her words, and noting the slight fear in her eyes, Stacey spoke.

"Your magic is much different from the magic of Krynn...but then so is mine. I know from expirience that, however different, adaptions can be made. Perhaps if we work together we can help overcome this evil and...get you home." Stepping forward, she extended one slender hand. "I'm Stacey Ali, from Chicago. I've been here about a year...I had a companion also from Chicago..." She smiled. "We got her home..."

Actually, I know next to nothing about Wiccan...as far as I know, they believe in different Gods and Goddesses and practice a type of 'witchcraft' that I have never seen any solid evidence of...until now...strange, as it obviously exists, it has not been documented or widely accepted as fact...very unusual... she thought to Jadelyn. Perhaps you should just ask her what you wish to know...Good becomes ignorant.

Heather smiled...and shook staceys hand. "Heather Trumpeter...I am from Toldeo area Ohio...I'd like to say that its a pleasure to meet you...but..." she trailed off.

"forgive me if I have seemed rude...To tell the truth...this doesn't seem all that strange to me...almost as if I have come home...." she mused thoughtfully.

Stacey smiled back. Truth be told, she had had the chance to go home once and had chosen to stay for her magic and for...a wisp of red caught her eye...red where there should be none, reminding of the promise.

Leaning forward, she whispered in English, "Be that as it may, looking for a way home makes for a very exciting quest..."

Straightening, she asked in Common, "Are you hungry or anything?" She turned to Par-Salian. "With your permission, sir, I would like to take Heather to her room to rest and eat. She's had a long journey and a shock."Good becomes ignorant.

Heather yawned, and just asked to sleep. Stacey nodded, and led her to the room that she had woken up in. Layed across the bed was a plain cotton nightshirt, and a oil lamp at the bedside.

"thank you..." she mumbled sleepily. after stacey left, Heather changed and crawled into bed. sighing she lowered the wick on the lamp and the room was flooded in darkness, and the light of the Red moon.

Heather looked out the window and smiled. she was still smiling as sleep took over.

Greetings my child... came a soft voice in her dreams. Heather found herself outside walking in an area she had never seen. She laughed. She had never been here at all!! even as the thought crossed her mind, the landscape actually began to look more familiar...as if she had been here before.

Heather stopped, and looked in surprise at the figure before her. A young woman, with light brown, wise eyes. She had long dark hair, tied back in a simple braid down her back. she wore robes of red.

who are you?? Heather asked, looking at the woman in awe...as if she had known her somewhere before. the woman reminded her of the Goddess Aradia...from her own world. The woman smiled again as if sensing her thoughts. you must join Stacey, and Jadalyn...you have a great destiny before you my child, but there is a long and difficult road before you...tread it boldly.

With that, Heather fell once again into her sleep, as Stacey and Jadalyn where also visited...though there was a bit of a celstial fight between the Sibling Gods of Lunitari, and Nuitari....True magic is withing all of us...Magic of life, love, and mind. ((OOC: Ontarys, if you decide to join, just go to sleep somewhere and I'll write the dream sequence for you, pull you into the madness...Mwhahahaha...sorry. :)))

Stacey yawned. Her steps whispered across the marble floor, the cold stone feeling good on her weary feet. Sighing happily, she closed her eyes, letting her last vision of the hall and the objects within guide her movements. It was something she used to do often, when she had been constantly tired from waking at 5 to go to school.

"Wake up!" she muttered to herself. Here she slept as late as she wanted and had a helluva lot more energy. Except tonight. The familar feeling of weariness stole her breath and gave her an insatiable thirst for her waterbed.

"But the book..." An angry memory, being too tired to read. Stacey frowned. But it was one night, and had been a busy day, she could go to bed early...opening her chocolate eyes, the young mage was stunned to see she had arrived at her room. She glanced back. It should have taken her longer to get here...

"Oh well," she muttered, taken to talking to herself when alone. Crawling into bed, still in her robes, Stacey fell to sleep.

Stacey Ali... Consciousness flooded, turning to surreal perceptions. The young mage blinked. She was standing in a large room. It was empty, and colorless...how that could be, the human didn't know. There simply was no color...

"Where am I?" she called, stepping forward through nothingness. A wisp a red caught her eye and she spun. Color! It was beautiful and she wished to hold onto it, never to let go...

The red converged, swirling, spinning, as a vortex of life where there is only nonexistance. It grew, brighter and brighter, till the human was forced to cover her eyes...

When she could look once more, she saw before her a young woman with laughing eyes and flowing red robes.

Stacey Ali, we meet again. The awed human bowed and said nothing. I have been watching you...and your quest for the Balance, as well as your love for your friends is commendable...I knew when you were willing to let go of your life for Caitlin that you would go far...that is why I approached you...

I have not forgotten my promise as you so worried. It was not the time...though I daresay that time will soon cease to be a problem for you... The goddess gave a small smile, a sight that exploded in the mortal's mind...

My kin have their doubts...as do you. But I stand by my decision. And, for now, it is time. The promise I made to you on that fateful night was simple. You prove yourself to me and the Balance and I will allow you your greatest wish...and the chance to bring something lost back to your world. But be forewarned! The trials before you shall be difficult...

"I am..." the mage started to say ready, but stopped. "prepared." She smiled. "And willing."

Then go, young magus. Three companions shall be traveling with you. The human nodded, though she wondered who the third was. Remember the Balance, for only it can see you through...

Stacey smiled in her sleep as she returned to her soft bed and the night's oblivion stole her dreams...Good becomes ignorant.

Jadelyn left the Hall of the Conclave intent on finding Stacey and forcing some answers from her young apprentice. When they had first met, the human had told them all about her world...including that no magic existed. Had she not known? Had her friend lied? Her friend...

The mage angrily pulled her black robes closer to her body, holding onto them as if they were a lifeline. Her "friend" was an intriquing precurser to a new magical technique. Nothing more.

Walking the empty corridors, Jadelyn managed to convince herself that her apprentice had indeed lied and that it was high time Stacey learned of the consequences that go with such actions.

Walking faster, her heels clicking on the marble floors, Jadelyn went on with renewed purpose.

She never made it.

Wearily, sitting on a nearby bench, the mage closed her eyes for just a moment...

She awoke to mists. Eyes fluttering with confusion, the mage sat up, startled. Wall to wall mists enclosed...where ever she was. No one was to be seen, though the mage could feel eyes...

"Where am I? Who's there?" she yelled into the mists. Gathering her magic, she armed herself, determined to insinerate these damn mists if she had to.

Peace, good mage. There is no danger here. The mage spun. Sitting in the air was a young woman with flowing red robes, holding a rather large book. She gave a disapproving look with her wise eyes before shutting the book with an echoing bang. There is so much about you that is uncertain...

"What do you mean by that?!" The mage demanded. The goddess, for she was indeed an immortal being, stood and ignored the question.

There is much to be done. A merging of worlds, perhaps...the infusion of magic... She said cryptically, smiling as the mage frowned. You are to accompany your "friend" on a quest for the key. That is all you need know for now.

"And if I decide not to go?"

The goddess narrowed her eyes and vanished as if she had never been.

Jadelyn woke with a start, cold marble pressed against her face.

Heather nodded and followed Stacey and Jadalyn. She seemed more comfortable in the traveling clothes that the conclave had given her.

a Loose silk tunic, and tan leather breeches. The soft leather boots reached to her knees, and the soles where heavy, but thin enough so that she could feel the ground beneath them.

She smiled as she walked, and went through the things she had aquired from the wizards there. all manner of herbs, all that she recognized. Rose petals, chamomile, nettle, Mugwort, coltsfoot, mandrake...ect. She went through the little packages methodicly, and carefully rewraped them, and placed them back in the pouch.

She went to the other one, and sifted through little bits of colored cloth, ribbons, and the multitude of stones. Some where just common stones...Granite, Marble, Sodilite, Quartz. While others where valuble...Jade, topaz, amber, Cinnabar, Pearl, aquamarine, ect.

she murmered a quiet prayer to the Goddess in thanks. and she followed the group."The world is not enough, but it is such a perfect place to start"

Heather sighedl...they had been on the road for weeks...they had lost both Jadalyn and the white robe..they had wandered off days ago, leaving Heather and Stacey alone. Heather looked up to the tripple moons...noting how much they where like the Tripple goddesses she knew so well.

"In my world...the white would be known as the Maiden...the Red, the Mother...and the Black the Crone..." She sighed and held the silver pentacle in her hand and began to wonder what had happened to their friends.Though sometimes the pain is part of love

"In my world, we have one freakin' moon and I'm starting to think that's the way I like it," Stacey muttered darkly. She was worried. Constant concern showed on her face, her features taunt, her hands never quite sure what to do with themselves.

She had been traveling for weeks now--on foot--something that would have once been impossible for the couch-potato she had been. She had liked that too. Being lazy, sitting around...

She sighed, and looked away. She had explained to Heather on their second day of traveling that she liked her company and any crabby-ness was just a byproduct of her wish to go home. For the last year...she hadn't thought about it, home. It had been as far as her daily reveries about dragons and soul-mates during class...never reality. Now it was possible and slightly more probable.

And that was making her homesick. And she was being a bitch to Heather. And she felt bad, no matter how understanding Heather was.

This was the first attempt Heather had really made to talk about her home directly to Stacey. Jadelyn had been interested enough, but the red-robe had always walked away. Her own thoughts were bad enough...she didn't need to listen to someone else's memories as well.

And now Jade was gone. Stacey blinked. Four days, five hours and--she glanced at her watch--37 minutes since she and the white robe had disappeared. An equal amount of time since Stacey had stopped talking but for sarcastic replies...she was worried. Lunitari had said she would have three companions. Now she had one.

Had she failed?

Stacey shook her head. She had to snap out of it. This wasn't helping. Nothing had happened for weeks and that had to be partially her fault. Something she had overlooked, failed to do...

Distractions. Her old vice. She glanced around. There was only Heather and the possibility of more magical toys.

At least I'll make up for being a bitch a bit...hopefully... she thought.

"So, Heather...tell me about your pendent. It's beautiful...looks important." She absently played with her own necklace--the small pewter dagger with the cheap plastic jade stone. Jadelyn had offered to replace it with something of value, but Stacey had declined. After all, around here, plastic was more valuable than diamonds...if anyone knew what could be done with it.

She attempted a "camera smile" at Heather--to cover her worry much as she covered her hatred for pictures of herself--and hoped a conversation would start.Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms munching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Heather smiled at stacey...knowing the worry the girl felt. "well it's a talisman of sorts...it's what connects me to the Goddess...She held the silver star in her hand and noticed something...it had changed...the circle was still made of silver...but the star itself had changed. each point, interlocking, was now made of crystal...and each a different color!

"Stacey...look at this...each point has changed...it's crystal now...and each a different color...but they are right...the top point, is violet..the color of imagination...for the element of spirit. this one here(The lower left point) Is green, the color of healing for the element of earth. This one...(the upper right) Is yellow, the color of the sun, that which powers the winds, for the element of air.

(to the upper left.) this is red, for the color of blood, and rebirth, love and anger...the element of fire. (then to the lower right) this is blue...for the color of life, dreams and shapeshifting...element of water...the silver circle represents the moon, and the mother of all...and the fact that together, these elements make up our world." Heather smiled. "If you wish stacey..you can call me Middie...most of my friends do..."

Stacey listened closely despite herself. The talisman was beautiful, even moreso now that the connection was explained to her. She had a soft spot for polytheistic religions...they had so many interesting stories and traditions, even if she didn't believe herself.

She had seen--and done--so many things here...it was impossible not to believe in gods. But back home...even with Heather here, she wasn't convinced. She made a mental note to ask her friend if her magic worked as well--and as obviously--back home as it did here. After all, what did Lunitari need her for if magic was so existant back home? And why was it such a secret if it was so powerful? She didn't think they were hiding it out of fear or anything like that--though if it really did exist in such quanities back home, they might think about being afraid.

People suck, she thought with a small smile. Fearing what they didn't understand...oh, the ignorance, it was almost amusing. She was hardely afraid of Heather or her power...she just wasn't convinced.

Though I'm not nearly as skeptical as I would be if someone here told me God existed... She gave a wry smile--still looking at the pendent--and thought about her abandoned religion.

"If you wish stacey..you can call me Middie...most of my friends do..." Heather said then, and finally the red-robe looked up and smiled.

"Cool, Middie. You're stuck calling me Stacey, I think...my real name is Anastasia but then it's my younger sister's name too...our parents are weird but they turned out to be right...me and Anya are almost twins." She paused and thought for a moment. "I can't remember ever having a nickname that stuck. William called me 'Siggy' for a couple of weeks, though I can't remember why..." she laughed, her fondnest for her lost bestfriend and sister shimmering in her chocolate eyes.

She shook her head after a moment and looked at the pendent again. "Life must be simpler for you," she joked. "I have to deal with 118 some elements." She grinned, hoping her friend wouldn't take offense. "Hm...I've never heard of 'spirit' being an element. Middie laughed. "No..Stacey...but that's alright.. you're talking about the periodic table (crap cant' remember chemistry right now)? I don't mean those elements...." Middie sighed and turned to the stream nearby. "I know that that is water...that it is the giver of life without it, nothing can live...in hypothecial terms, water is adaptation...it's a liquid, forever flowing...in a sense is also a representive of time. in reality...water is water...H2O, with other trace minerals such as iron, cloride, and others. But to me, it is part of this world, without it, the world could not exist."

She pointed to their camfire. "Fire...a creation of friction, heat, fuel and air. Fire...a destroyer...yet, when a fire destroys a forest...it leaves it purified, ready, for new life...rebirth. without the element of fire, nothing could truely grow...oh it would for a time...but then grow stagnent...and eventually die...Fire is change...without it, we could not survive. The Earth, just dirt, and rock...with a molten heart that pulses and flows just like our own blood. but look...the grass, the trees, they could not survive without it...and the animals that consider it home...the earth is our home...and even ancient civilizations recognized the earth as a Goddess....Gaia, Mother Earth, Mother Nature...Demeter....all are the earth. with out it, we could not exist.

The air, we breathe it...all things breathe...Wether it be Oxygen, or carbon diodxide..the air is an element that we cannot live without...even the element of fire cannot survive without earth and air...water cannot survive iself without air or earth...

as for spirit, everthing has life..spirit is an intangible element...everthing has it's own spirit...as hard as it can be to prove, its not ment to be proved..but ment to be believed it..to have faith. the moon has been thought of for melinnea as a goddess...for many it's father sky, mother earth, sister or grandmother moon, and brother or grandfather sun...folklore and faith are hard to place these days....what I said about the moons here...it was the colors I was refering to...the maiden...or Spring Goddess is represented by the color white, for innosence (Sp) The Mother, or the summer/fall Goddess, is represented by red, the color of blood...for the birth that all mothers endure. The Crone or Winter Goddess, is represented by Black..the color of death, secrets and protection."

Middie stopped realizing she was rambling... "Im sorry Stacey...I didn't mean to ramble like that.Though sometimes the pain is part of love

Stacey grinned. "You're not rambling...in fact, it seems we have something in common: we both like to explain ourselves.

"On a certain level, I would agree with you...that is, if I liked symbols, which I don't. Symbols imply...order. I believe in chaos as a natural tendency of the universe...spontaneity. But at the same time, there is cause and effect...how can I make this make sense?" She laughed and leaned forward, trying not to try and order her thoughts. It was better to just let it flow. "A friend of mine once said that everything is random. Everything. I, for the helluva it, called him on the point, and came to the conclusion, more or less, that though beginings are random, effects are not because with everything you do, there are a certain number of possibilities...and of those, even less probabilities... does that make sense?

"See, you may agree with this, but there is a fundemental difference between us. You look at water and you see a life-giving element, placed here with the intent of...well, giving life. At least, I think you do. I see a molecule...a combination that is the cause. The effect is life...a random, yet narrowed possibility of something that can exist with water as its benefactor. And I believe that there are things, somewhere, that can exist without water...perhaps the same effects with a different cause."

She shook her head. "Does that make sense? Is there really a difference or is it just me?" She ran her fingers through her obsidian hair and went on. "Now, fire...as I said before I believe in the natural tendency of chaos. Fire seems...narrow to me and I don't want to broaden it to include everything. I was once told I could never look at something without seeing the big picture...maybe that's why. Now chaos...that's everywhere. It can be seen in everything and it is not just an element of life, but an element of existance of...anything. It's not a symbol, it's a fact and...I confess, I don't see a need for abstract (to use your own word :D) items that are broaded to generalize existance.

"It is curious...but I was waiting for you to mention light. Nothing would be here without it. Perhaps you include light in fire? I see light as an incredible feat of existance...not only in the sense of photons--which are rather unique--but in its greatest creation being the 4th stage of matter. Fission and fusion are elemental to me in their...new level of energy creation. Energy, like chaos, is a fact to me." She shrugged briefly. "Perhaps there is no difference between my facts and your symbols...besides the spirituality that we hold in each.

"Speaking of spirits...I am at a loss for that one. I'm not sure what to say in regards to souls...but I do believe the mind is seperate from the brain...and I believe it because it is intangeble and yet there...like time, dimensions...it is a function of perception and I don't claim to know everything.

"As for the moon...in my mind, it gives nothing but tides and earthquakes, which are important in and of themselves but other than that...it's just something to do a bit of stargazing at." She smiled softly, unhappy with her conclusion but aware that it would get no more coherant than that.

She sat back and gazed at the fire for a moment. Heather waited, as Stacey looked like she would say more. But her mind was elsewhere, avoiding the inevitable--but delayable--frustration at not being able to voice her thoughts.

I just had a debate in Common, she thought. That wasn't all that odd...but she had even found suitable substitutes for words the people of Krynn didn't even have...

And, she thought with more than a little surprise, Heather did likewise. She mulled over this for a moment. She had been for over a year, but Heather had been here mere weeks...and yet she was speaking Common all along.

Stacey closed her eyes and rubbed at the bridge of her nose. This was giving her a headache and with no advil available on the planet. She forced herself to take a deep breath of the cool night air and then gazed into the dancing flames once again. They flickered, oblivious to the dark frustrations that skirted the edge of her mind, sending red motes into the sky...

Red?

She leaned forward and stirred the fire pit. It was definatly hot enough to have blue-white flames by now, but as it grew from a bonfire to a roaring inferno, it just became more and more scarlet.

Stacey gave up trying to get some blue in the fire and sat back. The heat was almost unbearable now but she didn't move. Just closed her eyes and thought again over the language thing. It was a puzzle she wasn't about to solve anytime soon...

Damn, her accent is better than mine! Though, she had tried to stay as Chicagoan as possible...still!

The red had followed from the fire and now lit the insides of her eyelids. She watched the writhing color...

...and heard a chuckle. Her eyes flew open and she looked at Heather, who was toying with her pendent.

What do you expect from my daughter? Another chuckle.

Stacey shook her head to clear it. The fire was hot and she was drowsy...probably daydreaming. She had never lost her habit of dreaming just before falling to sleep. Still...

Huh. Oh well. Her mind moved on to other things and she waited to see if Heather would continue the conversation.

The flames flickered a brillant blue-white, casting shadows on the nearby trees.Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms munching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Middie smiled and nodded as she stared at the flames. "of course...I understand your point too, though they are different, they are in a sense exactly the same..." she said softy, and she noticed stacey wince. "Have a headache? I think I may be able to help." she grabbed the kettle that was resting near the flames, and set it on the edge of the fire.

She rummaged through her bag, and grabbed a small knife. She walked over to a tree that she noticed earlier, and stripped the bark from several branches. by the time she returned, the water within the kettle was near boiling. She crushed the soft bark in her hand and dropped it in the water. "white willow...the bark has pain killing properties." She said smiling. after a few mintutes she added mint and chamomile from her own stores...and added a bit of the maple sugar she got from Jadalyn.

After a few more minutes, she held a piece of cloth over the kettle opening, and poured some of the liquid into two cups. "There...It may be a bit bitter but that can't be helped much...thats the way willow can be...but the mint and chamomile should mask most of it...and the maple sugar to sweeten it. the Willow willl help your headache...the mint and chamomile will help you to sleep easy." She handed one to stacey and sipped at her own.Though sometimes the pain is part of love

Stacey eyed the drink as she would a poisoned vat of green tea, and sipped cautiously from it. It was as bad as she had thought it would be and she made such a face that Heather laughed.

"Ick...my tongue is just too used to pounds of sugar for this." The drink was hot, though, masking some of the taste and she downed it, hoping that it wouldn't scald her tongue off. "Ow! Damn!"

Heather raised an eyebrow and Stacey held up a hand. "I know what you're thinking. A year here and I'm still not used to the taste?" She giggled. Her tongue felt numb, and she knew it was only a matter of time before she found out how bad she had burned it. Shrugging, she dug through her bag and pulled out a couple of her vices. "When I was taken, I had a bar of chocolate and a Mountain Dew in my backpack...the first time I saw a mage do the poof thing with food, I knew I had to save it. This stuff has a decent shelf-life anyway...so I waited 'til I could duplicate it. Then I made myself a horde." She giggled again, and offered Heather a pop and some chocolate.

"They don't go well together but I got over that in a hurry. Eventually I figured out how to get aluminum and made the cans too. Before that, it was pretty messy." She grinned at the memory and nibbled on the Swiss chocolate. "Ah, almost tastes like the original. Hey, and my headache's gone!"

Stacey leaned back, relaxing for the first time in days. Heather had understood her little speech...which made the world a better place, whether the other knew it or not. She waved a hand around, encompassing them, the forest and the stars. "So what do you think about it? Any of it? New gods, new magic? The old gods, old magic? Plutonium, what do you think about plutonium?" She grinned, indicating the last part was a joke. The look in her eyes hinted that it was also a memory but she didn't elaborate.Computer games don't affect kids…if Pacman had affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms munching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Heather shook her head. " No thanks on the Dew...I never really cared for it....but I'll have some of that chocolate if you please!" She giggled and took a bite, allowing it to melt on her tounge.

"I am really gettin worried stacey...where have Jadalyn and that White robe gone off to?" She paused and her eyes darkened a bit. "Stacey...I've been having these dreams lately...of a woman with dark hair and red robes...She's always smiling at me...like she knows me more than I know myself...and this place...It's seeming to become more like home than "home" ever was...." She trailed off, and looke up at the sky, Lunitari was full and still low on the horizon...and she stared at the constellations that had suddenly become comforting to her here.

"I don't know what to make of it...." She said softly, her face a mix of emotion...of puzzlement and fear...wonder and worry...Though sometimes the pain is part of love

Loden headed down the road at a casual pace, the night was crisp and cool, he enjoyed it that way. Solinari's silver light gleamed on his white robes, lunitari turning them pinkish. He couldn't see the black moon of Nuitari, nor would he ever wish to. A silver pendant with the eternal symbol of Mishakal hung around his neck, softly moulding against his firm chest. Rising with each breath. He was a Cleric of the Goddess and served her faithfully.

He was 25. Yet still emcomposed the embodiment of compassion and love that the Goddess bestowed upon her followers. Never had a fellow being died in his hands. She had always answered his prayers of healing. Undoubtably that would change soon. Rarely had he even left the temple of the Goddess, but now found himself far from her sanctury. He was raised there, and knew little of the out side world. He never had the need. But he knew of evil. Many the night would his dreams be filled with the tempations of the Dark Queen. She would have loved such a Cleric, devote and faithful in his ways. But he held them at bay, even the prayers to his Goddess could keep them out. But he learned to live with it.

There were a few people ahead of him. He quickend his pace and was soon upon them. "Evening....i am Loden, Cleric of the Goddess of Compassion and Healing...Mishakal....it is a pleasure to meet you all." His innocence was all too plain on his face. Heather stood, and looked at both newcomers. Her white silk tunic gleamed brightly in the combined light of Solinari and Lunitary. Her jade eyes looked at the two with a mix of wary suspicion. Her hand went to the pentacle around her neck, readying herself for anything that might happen...knowing that her knowledge would protect them to the best of her abilities.

"Greetings stranger..." she said, as another voice peneterated her mind No need to fear my child...a cleric of light is nothing to fear.

She stoppd in mid sentance and something made her turn to stare at the red moon. She shook her head to clear it, and again heard the sinister laughter of Galadon. She shuddered and offered a weak smile to stacey.

"well I guess we wanted company...now we have it!"

------------------------------------------

Galadon stumbled through the streets of Neraka....he didn't know how he managed to get here....It had to have been that Brat! He sat down, his black clothing tattered beyond recognition. His face would have been hansome, but for a red burn-scar on his right side....it covered from hairline to jawline...that eye was white, and gave an errie impression of a demon staring into your soul.

"May all the gods of Evil damn your spirit MidnightStarr!...I will not let you go so easily." He hissed, and felt a pull of evil guide him to the heart of the city...some evil god rested here...a Goddess to be exact...He would plea for Her help to lead him to victory. When you hear Temptation call-

Stacey stared at the man in blue, her chocolate gaze spearing him with figurative daggers. "Who are you and what do you think you know about my sister?"

Heather, more intent on the fact of two strangers than any sibling connections, seemed trusting enough to welcome their new "guests". Shaken by the surprise, Stacey was more inclined to be cynical and sarcastic--but even she couldn't miss the obvious.

((OOC: Wow, did you just give me a headache. Okay. First, we should finish New Thread and thanks for taking over for Crimson. I don't have time to post now but I will look over that later...I think it was my turn to react or something...

It would make sense for this and New Thread to be going on at the "same" time, because supposedly at the end of both, the conduit between the two sisters opens...at least that's what Lunitari wants. Stacey just wants to live in both worlds and bring magic with her...I don't remember if she knows it's through her sister or not... How that'll work with Anya, I dunno yet... ack.

Well, here's a problem--and a headache. Dark Master started a thread over at Cerulean Reverie (which I can't seem to connect to at the moment...I'll have to get a link later if you want it) called the Games and I kinda threw Anya in there. It's an interesting story so far, though we kinda stopped for the moment...

However, it takes place after New Thread...Anya has her own magic instead of her sisters, but she isn't all that trained. She goes back to Chicago for college and meets a mage/telepath named Zoria...Anya gets into trouble and can't do that much. Some, but more instinct stuff than training.

Now I know Timesplit isn't sloppy so if she was his apprentice...she should know more.

Possibilities? I dunno. My head hurts. Perhaps the potential Timesplit feels comes all from her sister and after the whole New Thread/Witch Light deal is over, Anya's power drains. She goes to Chicago, she has to learn again.

Or we could just ignore the Games, but I'd rather not do that.

Is this a problem or am I just anxious? I think I'm hungry. haha. A slight smile came across the man's face. "On earth I am called Greg Brown. I run an electronics shop in Pennsylvania. However, I suspect you would like to know the less mundane aspects of my life. "Missing?" Stacey started.

"Missing." That one word carried a world of understanding and hurt like hell. Stacey muttered it to herself again and, of all things, laughed. "I knew it was too much to ask...YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO INVOLVE HER!!" she suddenly yelled at the sky.

Her only response was a flutter of nearby startled wings and the twinkling of a bloody moon.

"Oh hell," she muttered then, standing and pacing. She didn't know...but she suspected. She had been charged with proving herself and bringing magic back to her home...she should have known it was too big a job for one person.

It took the mage a minute to bring herself back under control, to make sure she could trust her voice, before she faced the man called Timesplit. "I don't know where she is...but I'm pretty damn sure she is in trouble. The shit has hit the fan," she added with an upward glance. "And maybe, just maybe, I don't feel like playing this game anymore. YOUR DIVINE PLAN CAN KISS MY ROYAL ASS!"

Her control burst like a fragile bubble and she stalked over to her backpack. She stared at it for a moment, making her decision, before she started shoving her things into whatever space she could find. Then, hauling the lumpy bag onto her right shoulder, she started off into the woods.

"Where are you going?" a startled Timesplit called after her.

"I'm going off to live the life of a two-bit mage and like it. To hell with home, to hell with the gods! I will NOT have my sister moved around like some worthless pawn for their amusement! Oh no, this game is officially over, and guess what? NOBODY WINS!"

Tearing off her red robes to reveal a simple white shirt and well-worn jeans, the mage threw the symbol to the ground and headed back the way they had come.

"Another strange thing....I feel as though I've come home...not torn from it." She looked at Timesplit. "Who is this woman....and could it be possible that I am from this world???"Look beyond the coffers

Loden was dazed,. it happened so fast, the girl had run off....he didn't know if it he would be out of place to follow...."Will i go after her also?" Til the heart's blood boils or the bones be ash,
til the tallow be dust and death's teeth gnash
this one be mine.....

Loden ran after the girl, all the while whispering silent prayers to his Goddess. She sure can run fast for a slip of thing.....Mishakal give me strength..., "Young miss...Stacey! Please...", his white robe caught on a protruding branch, twisted around his ankles, he hit the soft earth hard. "Dammit girl.....", muttering forgiveness he stood up and dusted himself. Taking hold of his silver pendant, he whispered in reverence.

"Mother devine and goddess most fair, this child of yours, lost and wild, to her I ask you bring me, a light of your wisdom to guide your son through dark places.", the small globe shimmered before him, not something he would normally pray for, but She knew he was good for it. Smiling and giving silent thanks, he followed the globe for short space......but it vanished. Dumb founded, Loden prayed once more, to no effect. Sighing he looked aorund. "Alright miss....I've just about ran out of devine patience!", again his run ensuded, hoping to catch up with Stacey.

"Yeah? Join the club!" Stacey yelled, practically in Loden's ear. She had stopped running after a short while being more of a sprinter than a long distance runner. Plus, that damned panther was practically gnawing on her leg. Not a good thing to trip over.

So now she glared. Well, ignored the panther and glared at Loden with her best Look of Liquid Death that said quite plainly "Go away or I will end you." She was definitly in the mood to be alone and who did this guy think he was? Chasing her and swearing at her? Hell, this boy didn't know what he was in for! If he thought he could match a hardened product of the '90s and a public American school, he was in for a nasty little suprise.

She gave him a minute to wilt under her stare and then rolled her eyes. "Was there something you wanted?"

Timesplit stood with Heather, waiting for the others to return.

OOC: Yes, the woman is supposed to be Lunitari Thistle, and yes, my "self" Character did dream of her.

BIC: Heather sat down, staring at the fire, the light playing on the Pentacle hanging from the silver chain around her neck. The five points glimmered in the firelight, violet, gold, scarlet, azure, and emerald....the crystal shimmered and the silver shone.

She looked up at the Red moon and seemed lost in thought....her eyes half closed and slightly clouded.

"I've been thinking of that woman you described." Timesplit told Heather. "I could easily be mistaken, but one person that comes to mind, based on your description and the power needed to span our worlds, would be Lunitari, the goddess of neutral magic here. That moon there belongs to her." He guestures to the moon she was staring at.

Heather tore her gaze from the red moon, the words had startled her. "A Goddess?" Then she smiled. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised....Neutral huh? well...I guess that would be all around, though I strive for peace, Balance is the way of nature, the way of a 'witch'"

"Witch, ey?" Timesplit wondered. "That panther earlier. That was a Wican spell, wasn't it? A long time before I practiced magic, I lived in California. I knew a few people there who practiced it. I don't know if it worked for them or not, but they belived it did so I didn't pry. Never would have guessed then that I'd be a mage talking about magic on another world."

"I suppose that's a large part of what brought you here. I don't really know much about the structure of your religion on earth, but its possible the gods here made some kind of deal with something in your religion to bring you here for a reason."

(OOC: Honestly, I did have some friends in high school that said they were wican, but was kind of freaked by it so didn't ask many questions about it. 'People fear that which they do not understand.' Course, one of those people also said they could turn into a cat. Forgive my ignorance if I said anything wrong Kalia. Hope I'm not way off in my assumptions, since Timesplit probably would have read up on it.)

Was there something you wanted?

Startled out of his wits, he leapt back a step. Calming himself, he smiled. "By my goddess you......", sighing, "Well....i didn't want anything specific, you ran off....I ran after you, obviously, however if it is your wish to remain a recluce, I will be more than happy to abide by such wishes..", he inclined his head slighty and turned. "Well....its you choice...."

"It would seem so....but I feel it's something more than that....I feel as though I've come home, not torn away from it..." She mused.

(OOC: Cool...my little bit with the panther in the story is true, though in R/L Only those sensitive to such things would be able to see him, and even then for only glimpses, like a shadow where none should be. I actually had a friend freak out for a moment a couple years ago. My tabby-tom cat was lounging under our Yule Tree and she could have sworn that she saw a huge black "cat" under the tree.

She said when she looked again it was only my cat, Bast, who is black and white. it unnerved her till I told her what it was. She's been okay with it since. I move in Celtic/and Shamanistic magicks. The Black Jaguar is my Spirit Guide, or Guardian Spirit....whichever. He is what is closest to my heart, and a part of my soul...it's hard to explain.

and as far as your friend saying he/she could actually turn into a cat, well, unless they've figured out something I havent, it's BS. unless they mean meditation shapeshifting...which I do alot, I open my mind to the animal I choose, and act like it...thats all....

Then there is the Shape shift in the Astral form...that is the most probable.))

Stacey let out an explosive breath. If there was one thing she missed, it was being able to walk down the street without someone using words like 'abide'.

And I thought I wanted people to be more intelligent... she mused. Not that a big vocab denotes intelligence...ha! And what fucking street?? This is a trail at best...

It was the politeness of this place...it needed a '50s era in which everything was about white-picked fences and shy housewives and then people got over it. Being casual was definitly all it's cracked up to be.

She leaned against the nearest tree. "You might as well stay. It's not like Anuket over here is going to give me any privacy." She stuck her tongue out at the panther. "Yeah, I'm insulting you!" She looked back at the man she had scared half to death. That had almost made it worth it. "So what did you say your name was again?"

Dark_Master
04/09/2003 9:54 AM

Well....you haven't seen stranger things thats for sure..... "Oh..my name...its Loden....and to say it was a pleasure meeting you....is....well....something...", he half smiled and eyed the panther. What was he getting himself in for...Lady, I hope you know where I'm going with this one....give me strength..... "Come on.....we should rejoin with the others......providing the beast will allow it..."

starlite4774

A slow smile crossed Stacey's face as she realized she had done more than startle this Loden by yelling. He had absolutely no idea what to make of her! Not that that was so unexpected...but she was kind of used to hanging around people who knew her origins.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well...Loden," she replied, purposefully pronouncing his name with her Chicagoan accent. At home it would have been a lot of nothing, but here...she smiled and chanted a few words, producing a Snickers bar complete with plastic wrapper from thin air. She unwrapped it idly, then produced a can of Dew and pretended to frown. "Here, could you hold this? I only have two hands." She motioned at the closed can and then held out the Snickers bar to him, still half in the out-of-place plastic wrapper with the foreign print.

"Anyhoo...don't let the kitty-cat bother you. He wants to go back to Heather. And I don't. Not yet. 'M hungry first and still rather pissed off. What to do, what to do...what do you do when your god betrays you?" She thought about that for a moment and then grinned. "Hey, you know what? In my language, that rhymes."

04/09/2003 2:06 PM

Heather, becoming too restless, stood. "I'm going after them...." She said and left the circle of firelight.

The Jaguar looked up at Loden, and bared his teeth, though no sound was issued. his green eyes glowed in the weak moonlight, and then his posture relaxed as Heather came through the forest, moving nearly as silent as the great cat himself.

"There you are" She said softly. "Stacey? are you alright?" She asked, her hand straying down to pat the head of the Jaguar. The great cat purred suddenly and pressed his cheek into her hand, closing his eyes in pleasure of the contact.

"All right?" Stacey echoed with a false cheerfullness. "Well, I would guess that would depend on your point of view. I'm physically fine and mentally...well, I've entered the first Stage. You know, Denial? This would be the second time I've been disillusioned by a God...though, I have to admit, it was nice of this one to be real...

"But yeah, I'm good. Never better. Just talkin' to Loden here." She waved the Snickers bar at him. "If you're not going to be a gentleman and hold this for a sec, you could at least say so."

Timesplit watched Heather go off to find the others. *They'll be gone a little while.* He thought to himself. *Better go see how things are going on earth.* Chanting a complex spell, he dissapeared in a flash of light. When the flash was gone, a small sign fell to the ground. 'Back in ten minutes.'

04/13/2003 2:47 PM

Heather stared at Stacey as if the other girl had lost her mind....absently she snatched the snickers bar from Stacey's hand and held onto it...

"so...." She sighed and met the panther's green eyes for a long moment, then looked up to Stacey and Loden. "Now what?" She asked, feeling intrusive.

Dark_Master
04/14/2003 9:36 AM

Loden ran a hand through his hair, sweat beaded on his forehead. What in the name of the Goddess have I gotten myself into?!, "Well....are you headed anywhere specific.....by the sounds of it you both aren't that familiar with Krynn?"

starlite4774
04/14/2003 3:17 PM

Stacey frowned, disappointed that Loden hadn't been forced to hold the Snickers bar. She had wanted to see his reaction to the feel of the plastic. "Oh well," she muttered, tabbing the Mountain Dew and watching it burst open with a splash. "Whoops, sorry about that," she said to Loden, who looked like he had gotten it right in the eye.

She paused thoughtfully or at least seemed too. "Oh I'm familiar with Krynn," she said. "In fact, I've had it up to here with Krynn," she added, oblivious to the fact that Loden probably wouldn't get the Earth cliche. "As to what we do now...well all my ideas involved an ass-kicking of the divine sort, so I'm up for suggestions."

Dark_Master
04/16/2003 1:28 PM

"Stacey," Timesplit began. "Running away from the gods is not going to help you sister any. I though you might have a clue where she was but I guess I was wrong. I also thought you would be willing to try and help, but I guess I was wrong about that too."

starlite4774
04/21/2003 1:16 PM

"Help?" Stacey demanded, annoyed at the tactic he had used, even more pissed that it was working. "I've been doing nothing but help. Help this god, help that warrior. Take a good look around. This might be normal to you, but, as much time as I spend here, as much as I come to love and accept, this still isn't my world. And yet I'm here, helping. And you would think that certain parties would have the decency to keep other certain parties out of it! Why torture her? Isn't one of us enough?" She sank down to the ground and glared at nothing. "I am working for what I get here and what's more, I'm doing a job for a being that I was raised to think of as all powerful. How can I help? I can't even see the constellations under which I was born without her leave. I don't even know what I'm doing out here anymore."

Kalia_Majere
04/21/2003 3:19 PM

Heather was saddened by Stacey's outburst, and strangely sympathetic.

"I know how you feel Stacey...." Was all she could say, to say anything else would seem stupid and lame. And she sat there, the panther at her side, eyeing stacey with those bright green eyes.

starlite4774
04/21/2003 4:30 PM

"Yeah, I know you do, Heather," Stacey responded with a sigh reserved for those twice her age. She really didn't want to take her anger out on her friends, but she had to take it out on something. She looked up into Heather's bright green eyes with her own dull, chocolate brown ones and sunk into dispair. "Anya had green eyes," she muttered uselessly.

A moment passed and she looked up at Timesplite. "I need a sign, hell, I need a billboard and I really don't think that's too much to ask for right now.

((OOC: Yeah, about that billboard...I'm working on it. lol. Anyone have any ideas?))
