Straight from the interest thread, I give you, The Last Stand.
If you look in your textbooks you will find a chapter missing. Of course you will not notice this missing chapter, it was before your time that the events occured. The world has chosen to forget this terrible period, in which demons rose from Hell and almost brought about the apocolypse. Heroic soldiers fought to send them back to Hell. This is thier story.
Near the end of WWII Hitler and his Nazi forces were desperate for something that would give them the edge to win the war. They were so desperate that they turned to black magic. Hitler and his men went on an expedition to find such magic. What they found was unspeakable. Hidden in a temple somewhere in the jungles of South America was a book filled with all sorts of black magics.
Hitler returned to Germany with the book and began to practice these arts. With the help of a so called 'professional' Hitler was able to open a gateway to Hell. He summoned billions of demons from Hell to fight for him. The only problem was that he couldn't control them. They destroyed Hitler's base and he and his surviving men fled to a secret location somewhere in the mountain regions of Europe.
The gateway was left open and more and more demons appear every day. American, British, and French forces have struggled to defeat the demons. These forces are making a final push to close the gate and return the demons to Hell. If they do not succede it may mean the end of all life as we know it. Hell on Earth has been released, will you take up arms in the final stand?
Only one. No Godmodding. Every roleplayer should follow this rule and most do. You shouldn't have trouble doing the same.
The character sheet:
Age: (Above 18 at least, they don't let 10 year olds join the army)
Affiliation: (Which country you're sided with, You can be French, English, American, German [Nazi], Itallian, or Japanese)
Main Weapon: (Weapons from the WWII era only, no lasers or samurai swords or lightsabers.)
Side Arm: (Stuff like grenades, handguns, knives [Not of the throwing variety, the stabby kind for stealth attacks or just cutting stuff])
Description: (Flesh out your character. Describe facial features, hair color, build and anything else you can think of.)
Please don't make your characters super men. We're looking for regular human soldiers up against impossible odds, not Rambo clones.

Here's my character.
Name: Rick Anderson
Height/Weight: 6'4 , 158 Lbs
Main Weapon: Standard issue M1 Garand, Thompson Semi-Auto
Side Arm: Colt .45 handgun
Description: Rick has a very rough face, the face of a man that has seen alot of Hell and survived most of it. Bathing isn't one of the priorities of a soldier so Rick is usually covered in dirt. He's got a bit of stubble on his face but he rarely shaves. His jet black hair is usually matted under his helmet. He's got a slender build and like most soldiers he's pretty buff. He has emerald green eyes hidden behind his bangs most of the time. If Rick ever took the time to wipe away the grime from his face he'd be pretty handsom.
05/28/2007 12:46 PM
Name: Robert Brown
Height/Weight: Height: 6 Feet weight: 175 Pounds
Main Weapon: M1 Garand Rifle
Side Arm: Colt New Service Revolver, 3 standard issue grenades, 1 Hunting knife.
Background: His father was a WWI hero and told Robert many stories about him in the war. Robert was always interested in this and joined the U.S. Army before WWII began. He is a very good shot and rarely misses. He comes from the state of Virginia and has a long family history of people fighting in wars. He is a sergeant currently stationed on the Western front.
Description: Has bright red hair and bright green eyes. Is tall with well defined muscles. Wears standard issue army clothes. Has a scar on his right cheek that goes from under his nose to his right ear.

Quick question. Do the demons like fight with claws and fangs and have like an infinite amount of reinforce ments, or are they like super armored, laser gun weilding goliaths with little reinforcements?
05/28/2007 1:33 PM
Claws and fangs my friend. Also, you can leave out the background in your character sheet, it's not entirely important. You're character is accepted, as soon as we get a few more people we can start posting.

Cool, i look forward to this one.
the stabby kind
Lol- I love it.
I'm actually getting a vague character concept coming to me..
Or maybe not, lol (I just got a different one)
There wasn't a whole lot of exciting thing for women to do in the army and I don't like having genitalia on the outside, so I'm trying to think of something a bit interesting- so far two ideas: French resistance or Nazi (but I've a feeling Nazi chick would just end up like Alison Doody from Indiana Jones), so I'll think about it a bit more tonight and see if I can get something up tomorrow.

Yeah I'd go with French, the women had equal parts to the men in the Fench army. Nazi women had few parts, they sat there and looked pretty.

this sounds interesting
Name: Adele Bichot
Height/Weight: 5'7, petite
Affiliation: French resistance
Main weapon: *someone suggest a suitable pistol- I know nothing about guns. Relatively small but with enough power to be lethal*
Side arm: Always carries at least two slender stilettos secreted somewhere on her person- usually one in her boot, one somewhere nearer her torso. If the situation allows it (i.e. she's able to carry a bag) will often carry a small bottle of chloroform to try to make up for her lack of physicality.
Description: At first glance confident, assured and at times almost brusque, Adele can switch to playing the coquette timide in a heartbeat. She is good at reading people- and their desires, and equally adept at manipulating them.
She is very much a la mode- immaculately turned out in the most up to date fashions, long chocolate brown hair curled gently and set, face made up, lips rouged etc., her appearance a necessity of function- information gathering for the resistance.
She was a hostess and sometime singer in a bar frequented by the occupying forces, using her considerable charms and any means necessary to pry needed information from German officers: she became involved with the resistance in the early days of the occupation, being fiercely patriotic. When her husband, Gallard, a soldier in the French army, was killed, and she made a young widow, she became more directly involved with the resistance's activities.
Question, Rath m'dear- are we all starting out disparately and meeting up later, or are we already a combined demon-derriere-kicking force?
Anything you want me to change for her let me know.
I think Jay would enjoy this.. we'll have to try recruit her when she returns..

Question, Rath m'dear- are we all starting out disparately and meeting up later, or are we already a combined demon-derriere-kicking force?
I hadn't thought about this but I figure from my knowledge of WWII military tactics, you were told to always stay with your regiment (group of soldiers) if you could, but should you all be seperated and you can't get in radio contact with them for whatever reason, you should group up with any soldiers you come by. Power in numbers, that sort of thing. I learned alot about the war from my Grandpa and from WWII games like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty.
So to answer your question, it can go either way. These demons are like tanks, big and destructive. For example, I was planning to keep Rick with a regiment as their commander but I was going to have them be overwhelmed by demon forces and then have him maybe meet up with another regiment. It all depends on us, we could all end up together in one single group or we could end up scattered about in different groups or we could all be scattered about wandering helplessly through European woodlands.
I just remembered a song my Grandpa taught me, they used to sing it when marching to keep the soldiers in time or something like that. It goes a little something like this.
The coffee that they serve us,
They say it's mighty fine.
It looks like muddy water,
And tastes like iodine
Oh, I don't want no more of army life
Gee, ma, I wanna go home!
It had other verses about the food they served but I don't remember them. All I can remember is that they all end the same way.
Also, Your character is approved :)

How cool to have had that shared with you.
My Grandad was in the army, too, and quite high up(there was a painted portrait of him in his full uniform hung up in the sitting room, think it was done for his retirement), but he didn't really like talking about it.
I know he spent some time in Africa and the Middle East, but a lot of the stuff he did back home involved the IRA.
So basically we'll probably have our own separate storylines, with very little crossover?.. I prefer games where there's a lot of interaction (so I'm finding Civil War a bit of a slog at the moment!) so if someone could see there way to getting to France at some point that's be swell ;)
05/28/2007 3:25 PM
There'll be plenty interaction. Like I said it could go both ways. You could start out stranded and end up in a regiment with another character. However you want it is fine with me.
05/28/2007 3:27 PM
Ok Nanuk, you wanted to know small lethal pistols and im gonna give you a list. These all come from the BIG BOOK O' WEAPONS!!!!
1. Luger- German gun, really accurate and powerful. Holds 10 rounds per mag.
2. Colt M1911A1- US gun. Very powerful rounds, as a result, less accuracy. 7 rounds per mag.
3. Browning GP35- Belgium gun. An average gun, well balenced power and accuracy. 13 rounds per mag.
4. Webley & Scott MK VI- British gun, A revolver that is sturdy and more accurate than others. Like all revolvers, 6 rounds. NOTE: Revolvers don't have a magazine. You need to put the bullets in the chamber manually.
5. Colt New Service Revolver- An American gun. A revolver that was highly liked throughout all armies and police forces. It is VERY powerful but not accurate.
These are some for now. If you dont see one you like then ill put up more. When you pick one ill try to find a pic of it and send it too you.
I reckon, what with not being entirely physical (it's not likely that she's a jeet kune do master, no? ;)) she'd want something that was accurate- she'd need to be a good shot but have a weapon that had reliable accuracy because if she missed she could be buggered.
So I'll go...Luger. With all the Germans around they'd be fairly common.
(And it's a clip, rather than chamber-loaded, just so I'm straight?)
Funnily enough I'd heard of all of those except the Webley & SCott.
05/28/2007 3:43 PM
Ok yes, numbers 1,2, and 3 all use a clip or Magazine. 4 and 5 are revolvers and you put the bullet in the chamber individually. As for a picture of a luger, just google image search Luger. It will be the first one.

Wonderful character Kitos. You're accepted. So that's about four people. Do you all think we should start now or wait for more people?
I think more ppl might yet join but they could alway catch up if you did start.
05/28/2007 4:19 PM
xD But I'm no good at decisions, I was gonna go with majority vote. Eh, I guess we can start, we won't get too far into it today.
05/28/2007 4:27 PM
I agree, start
05/28/2007 5:16 PM
Here's some demon info for the kinds of demons you'll be facing. These are just common demons of course.
1. Crawler- These are the most standard of demons. As the name suggests they crawl. Trees, walls, sides of vehicles. They'll crawl on pretty much anything. They're basic demons, easy to kill and they don't give you much hassle in small groups. It's easy to be overwhelmed by a large group of them though. They're smaller than your average human male and not as strong, they have rows of little sharp teeth and sharp claws to dig into surfaces and human flesh.
2. Shredder- These demons are larger than Crawlers. They're a bit bigger than the average human male. They have long sharp claws on their hands and feet. They stand on two feet. Their legs are bent backwards at the knee sort of like an animal. They are able to cut through the strongest of period metals.
3. Winged eye- Just as the name says this demon is just an eyeball with wings. A giant eyeball albeit but still an eyeball. It has talons attached to it's stubby feet but no legs. It's somehow able to shoot beams from it's eye.
4. Tanker - These are huge demons, the size of tanks. They are extremely strong but very slow and pretty stupid. They use their strength to make up for their speed and intelligence. They have long horns which they use like bulls to flip tanks and mow down anything in their path.
All demons can be killed with either a few shots to the head or a couple shots to their chests, aimed at the heart. The winged eyes can be killed by just shooting them in any spot. More to come and you can think up your own but I just wanted to give you basic demons to work with.
05/28/2007 6:05 PM
How about something like a super intelligent being that is like the general or admiral?
05/28/2007 6:16 PM
I told you, you can make up whatever kind of demon you want. But I have to OK it first. A super intelligent demon... I don't think so. These demons aren't know to be very intelligent. A demon general however would be fine.
05/28/2007 6:25 PM
Cool. When will we start this?
05/28/2007 6:41 PM
05/28/2007 6:43 PM
Rath, I suggest you just post your first post and then we'll go off there. Or do you have more planning to do:?
05/28/2007 7:03 PM
I wanted to make sure all the questions were out of the way before I started posting. I take forever to post most of the time because of my short attention span. Which is why my post might have a time tag of 2:38 PM or something like that but I will have started writing it at about 1:45 PM. ^^ I'll see what I can do for an opening post but if some of you think you're ok to post without my opening then go ahead. My opening won't be really fancy.
