Ok, this idea is based off of Tom Clancy's stories. The year is 1979, a few months before 1980. The story will take place in Miami (think of Miami Vice type theme). The story revolves around Miami's top SWAT team and police force. Over the month of June, Cuban and Lebanese terrorists have been stalking the shores of Miami, making Illegal drug deals and part of a much larger drug business. It is up to Miami's finest to track down these terroists and end the violence in the streets. If they arn't stopped, then Florida will fall to the hands of the Cubans.

The character sheets are in the idea fourms, go there to create a character. If you have already made a character, you can jump in the story right now.

Just out of curiosity, would it be possible for someone to play a character on the opposite side of the law?

Sure, that would be interesting.

Name: Charlie Allen

Age: 35

Height: 6'4"

Weight: 120 kg

Decription: Charlie is a tall, very solid man. Most people instantly realise that he is very powerful and the sneering expression that is usually on his face tells people that Charlie enjoys using his force.

Charlie stands out from the crowd in two ways other than his height. The first is that he has a thick head of bright red hair and the second is that he has some severe burns to the right side of his face. Usually, however, Charlie wears a balaclava to hide this, as well as his hair and appearance.

Occupation: Terrorist

History: Charlie was born in Australia and planned to stay there for his entire life. Unfortunantely, Charlie was called up to fight in the Vietnam war. During the war, Charlie was hit by friendly from the Americans once, and was burnt by an exploding fuel tank at the same time.

Having had this done to him and having seen the damage that the Americans had wrought on Vietnam, Charlie started to hate the Americans and evetually decided to avenge all those who had needlessly died.

And so Charlie found himself in an anti-American terrorist cell, ready to kill as many Americans as possible.

Skills: Charlie has several skills, the first being his ability to shoot rapidly but at the same time shoot accurately. This allows him to set up a L2A1 automatic rifle and fire rapid single shots at police emn. If he needs to, Charlie will also use this weapon on full auto.

Charlie's other skill is improvised explosives. Typically, Charlie will use a pipe bomb full of either Picric acid, Nitrostarch or, when he wants to create some serious damage, an ANFO bomb made using 99.9% pure ammonium nitrate. Powdered magnesuim also tends to be in these explosives.

Just a light point for anyone else to join if nfrat33 doesn't mind, it is likely that an FBI agent/contact would be needed as local law enforcement don't have the same scale... this maybe a side shoot for my RPr but nfrat33's approval is needed.

Shigetomo I'm guessing is part of the unit near site, Nightsift, Mira is part of the day shift, so get there slightly (15 or so) later, just so it doesn't get to confusing and you may have to be green team =p

sorry if my last post doesnt exactly make sense...me and luna must have been posting at almost the exact same time so it came out all weird...and Luna do you mean 15 posts?

LunaMaria
05/21/2007 11:17 PM

That would just be silly, 15 minutes but due to your groups in action about 10 now.

1/3 it's what one person thinks not said as fact
2/3 as the other units head of them they should get there first, thus he concludes they'll get there first.
3/3 if a higher up took control of the operation off site then extra units may be called in ( standard building sieges need 12 or so SWAT to cover the building and normaly end up with 40- 50 officers as well)

hey you guys wouldn't mind if i joined as one of the terrorist would ya?

LunaMaria
05/23/2007 8:47 AM

I'm have been one of the only posts in the last 2 to days. I am part of a different group from that was sent and I've done it so they haven't done anything but get there as a Lt. Officer that hasn't in the story talked to higher ups you just ran, no other units were told to hold back other than the on enroot and in the heap of confusion like the extra police officers that stormed the building more turned up.

I fail to see a problem other than the lack of movement by other people

If you read my first post Luna, my guy said only one SWAT van was sent out.

raikoh
05/23/2007 8:14 PM

name: unknown. nickname " mr. white"

age: 32

height: 6'1"

weight: 180 pounds

description: face is usually hidden under a ski mask but is believed to be caucasian male. the only part of his face seen is his mouth and eyes ( brown ). he normally has on a slight frown but when put in a combat situation it normally turns into either a smirk or a actually smile. he has a slight muscular build.

occupation: terrorist.

history: not much is known about mr. white's history. all that is known is that he has been included in some of the most violent and most successful heists ever pulled. he always is seen with his mask on and no witnesses can describe him the same way. he is beleived to have originated from america but could have come from somewhere in europe as well.

skills: he is well skilled in robberies. he uses everything from lockpicks and drills to codebreaking computers. he has exceptional skills in useing dual pistols and dual smgs. he is normally sighted useing two custom made colt .45s. although in large shootouts he'll upgrade to two uzi sub machine guns

though when he's outgunned he's also known as one of the greatest drivers out there dodgeing polices cars for miles until they finally lose him. he has been seen driving many vehicles but almost always waits for everyone to get in before he makes a escape.

LunaMaria
05/24/2007 9:31 AM

and I put out a second set of cars in my post so we wouldn't have to wait for me an the other Swat guy to work in the same van as that would really slow this down.

nfrat33
05/24/2007 3:15 PM

luna seriously, I'm the GM, and yet you put out cars. I specifically only wanted one van sent out, for light action. Stop taking orders, if you want to, make ur on rp.

LunaMaria
05/27/2007 1:44 PM

Well all mighty GM what would you like me to do as god only knows you wont like me to do what I will so.... You never said there was only one van and light action... bombs going off everywhere and a hostage situation so one van is a good plan???

So what do I do next?

And I haven't done anything to effect anyones else's story, so I really don't get why it's such a problem other people have stormed building but I can't turn up and do nothing?

If you had such a ridge plan for the story you should have let other people play SWAT

Why don't you cop the **** on?

You cannot join someone's thread and then decide to try and run it the way you think it should be run.

The GM is almighty when it comes to how his thread is going to go, you silly little girl- it's his thread. If you don't like it leave- with a little dignity.

You've had exactly this argument in Critch's thread, very nearly the same in the sadly deceased Firefly thread, and GOD knows I was aching to set you right for doing it in the Apocalypse thread (though Jack handled your IC idiocy so efficiently that there was no need to).

If you can't get it into your head that the GM has final say on what goes on in their thread then stop joining- or ask more questions about the story before you do.

bombs going off everywhere and a hostage situation so one van is a good plan???

Did the bombs go off before the van was dispatched?
No.

And SWAT are highly trained, it's not uncommon for just one unit to be sent out- police resources aren't exactly unlimited.

Sorry for the butt in nfrat but I was getting tired of her and the interruption to your thread.

nfrat33

WOOT NANUK! you took the words right from my mouth.

LunaMaria
05/28/2007 12:39 PM

Jack never said he had a problem with what was happening in fact by his doing my idea became a major part of the RP all I did was use it as a way of getting my character in. In the Gods one they didn't like my idea for a persona so I didn't want to join, but here it just didn't see what all the fuss was about, it really didn't effect the story and it other wise would have left it the way it is now with me having little to say.

Well I just wait for way later in the story as a single unit to be called in later if nfrat33 want me still to be here.

Nanuk that was rather personal and I take offense, I would as you to remove the

silly little girl
comment

Ask all you like because it's not happening- you are acting like a silly little girl.

You're repeatedly being argumentative almost for the sake of it with the thread masters- you should not need to be told the same thing multiple times and in multiple threads.

Of course at times people have their own ideas but you broach them reasonably with the DM- you say 'fair enough, I see where you were coming from- what would you think of this alternative idea that I have'. You don't keep arguing a point you've already been called up on- such as the number of cars called to a scene, or the validity of a domain for a god.

In the Gods one they didn't like my idea for a persona so I didn't want to join,

Again, petulant, and hardly a mature declaration- as well as completely missing the point; it wasn't the persona Critch had a problem with, it was the fact that you would not pay attention to what he specified regarding domains, which were valid and which were not.
And even though it was his world, not a pre-existing campaign, so therefore he would logically be the one with the final say on what was acceptable or not, you still kept trying to argue with him.

Jack never said he had a problem with what was happening in fact by his doing my idea became a major part of the RP all I did was use it as a way of getting my character in.

I can't even remember what incident you're talking about but I meant the ridiculous bit near the end when he specifically told you- both IC and out, not to leave and go to the base; but you decided to have your character steal a jeep and defy what he- as the thread master- had said.
Then you had the boy soldier character you were also playing do something silly like tackle him or pull a gun on him and he had to deal with that, too.

If you felt it was justifiable for the character you were playing, fair enough- but you still should have checked with the threadmaster.
He could have had a specific reason for not wanting you to go- you could have ruined a storyline he had set up.

You introduce story elements that the DM hasn't okayed- that you haven't even approached them with. That's not on.
If you have ideas you set up your own thread.
If you have an idea you think would be good for someone else's thread then you suggest it to them first.

This is far from personal- I don't know you as a person, maybe you're very nice, I don't care- but as an RPer you have some serious work to do on learning the common courtesies and conventions.

That's all I'm going to say on it- this isn't the right place to take this any further (and sorry for the interruption nfrat), any other issues you want to address internal mail me.

I know, but I don't want to shove my character into a situation without a little set-up or someone to, you know, interact with...
