PLEASE NOTE: This first OOC page will be regularly updated with any necessary information to help you along the way. It will save you skimming through lots of OOC pages to find whatever details you are looking for.

Reiterating what I said in the Interest Query thread, if everyone turns up I should have more than enough players for this RP already. If you are reading this and are interested in possibly joining at a later stage, please let me know via Internal Mail and I will try to reserve you a place. Thank you.

City of Wexdale - The capital of Denzibar and home of King Wilhelm III. It was once a magnificent walled city, but now is in a state of much disrepair.

City of Halvault - Set on the mysterious and largely forgotten Isle of Merrywinter, Halvault is thought to be a city in complete ruins. It was once almost as large and splendid as Wexdale itself with a similar surrounding wall and grand architecture.

Village of Elmswhistle - This is where our 'would-be heroes' will begin. Back in the days before Halvault was lost this was once a thriving settlement. Nowadays most people have moved away from the area to either the capital or the Town of Dennison.

Town of Dennison - Now the second largest settlement in Denzibar since the fall of Halvault.

Two Rivers Bridge - A large bridge crossing where two rivers merge into one.

Village of Hapgood - Small farming and fishing settlement by Lake Four Rivers.

The Age of Descent

It is almost sixty years ago since one of the oldest and most thriving cities within the Kingdom of Denzibar came to a complete standstill, seemingly overnight. The city in question was the once magnificant walled city of Halvault, located on the Isle of Merrywinter to the south-west of the Denzabian mainland. Many rumours and stories remain of what exactly happened to Denzibar's forsaken city all those years ago. Some of these tales contain accounts of how the citizens of Halvault were wiped out by a great plague. Other accounts say the city was destroyed by a great fire. As always more interesting and creative stories have been suggested, those of demons and others that the city was built upon the ruins of another ancient city and that the island is cursed by it's predecessors. Any official accounts of what happened are either kept secret or have long since been forgotten or destroyed. Nowadays there are more pressing matters to concern the people of this once great nation which finds itself in rapid decline. Now is a dark-age where the once proud citizens currently live as peasants, struggling to find enough food to see them through to the next day. Concern for nonessentials such as literacy and history are now a thing of the past.

-

An amendment to the Denzabian Common Law and official notice to all citizens and visitors of the Kingdom of Denzibar remains the sole offical reminder of that fateful time.

The Twelfth day of the month December, the year Ten-Twenty-Three.

The following amendments hath been made to Danzabian Law.

It shall not be lawful from henceforth for any persons to step foot upon the Island called Merrywinter. Forthwith all trade to and from the Island Merrywinter and the residing City of Halvoult hath been declared illegal. Any persons thereof forefeiting these laws, or withholding the knowledge of another persons forefeiting these laws hereby shall be subject to the death penalty.

By order of King Wilhelm II

-

Today, King Wilhelm III is but a sick and elderly spectator who forced to see out his dying days while his Kingdom crumbles around him. A nation of peasants too poor to pay taxes has lead to much of the Denzabian Army being disbanded. What few soldiers remain employed by the King lack leadership, desire, motivation and morale due to pitifully low wages and the horrendous living conditions they must endure. With no army to defend it's shores, the people live in constant fear and paranoia of invasion from distant foreign soil. Their only comfort of safety lies in the fact there is so little worth taking these days that an invasion would hardly seem worth while.

Characters of importance. (Elmswhistle)

The Daggervale family:

A family of proud nobles who's history dates back to the founding of Elmswhistle. Back in the days of trade with Halvault they made their fortune shipping goods back and forth to Merrywinter. They also owned wagons and caravans which transported goods to Wexdale, Dennison and Hapgood. Three quarters of Elmswhitle's population were employed by the Daggervales during that time.

The Daggervale's are also the owners of Elmswhistle's only two inn's -
When trade with Merrywinter was deemed illegal and passage there forbidden; the Daggervales could have easily cut their losses and moved to the capital with their fortune. Instead, the Daggervales chose to remain at Elmswhistle and since then their dynasty has rapidly crumbled.

Due to the Daggervales refusal to walk away from Elmswhistle they are highly admired and respected even though most of their employee's have been left jobless or have moved away. Today Elmswhislte is almost a ghost town. A only a handful of families, mainly farmers or fishermen remain there today.

Important NPC Characters

The Daggervales:

Sebastian Daggervale - An elderly man and once proud head of the family who is rarely seen in public these days. There is strength in the rumours he is bedridden due to an increasing mental illness.

Tarquin Daggervale - Eldest son of three brothers. He is a strong, pleasant character who assumes the role of head of the family in the absence of his father.

Jessop Daggervale - Second son. A quiet and handsome young man who takes the responsibility of overseeing the running of the Daggervale's two inns.

Laura Daggervale - Twin sister of Jessop. She is a very beautiful and elegant young woman.

Rhys Daggervale - The youngest of the Daggervales, he is a lively and energetic teenager who likes to help out with what remains of the fisherman fleet.

The Windbreaker Crew:

Captain Rus Helmfast (played by Max) - Captain of the L.D.S. Windbreaker, a patrol ship carrying Viscount Parmishroud and crew to the southern village of Elmswhistle. (Feel free to supply me with more information here if you like Max)

Viscount Rhule Parmishroud - A Nobleman from Wexdale sent to Elmswhistle by King Wilhelm III to collect taxes and foresee the inevitable exodus of the villages to the north. He in his early forties his is a thin man with a hooked nose and black receding hair which is beginning to turn gray. He is neither very patient or compassionate and his lack in these characteristics may well be the reason for his assignment of this unpleasant task.

Corporal Armand Shillingsworth (played by Tamachi) a rather tall, muscular man, striking fear into adversaries and whatever little hope is left in his men. He clings to the hope that they will find an end to this dark age very soon, and prays for it. (a full character sheet should follow shortly)

That's it for now guys. I hope it's not too much to take in at once. Take your time to familiarise yourselves with the setting and then post me your character ideas. Feel free to link them in any way to any of the Daggervales as they are going to be important to this RP. It will make things much easier if you already have a history with the Daggervales so that they know and trust your character. Feel free to ask any questions and I will try my best to answer. :)

Concern for nonessentials such as literacy

Bu.. b... buh.. I have a pain in my heart...
I actually whimpered when I read that ;)

Lol- I can't imagine not having books, but I suppose I shall have to. What a challenge!

Better brush up on early medieval peasantry and get to forming a character..

Was going to mail this to you first but I won't be around tomorrow (volunteering at the stupid zoo again, bah!) and didn't want the thread to be lonely..

NAME: Aida Trevalyan

AGE: 23

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Of medium height, Aida has a build that would have been buxom, were it not for the privations endured by all in these lean times. Her hair is long and dark, with a soft natural curl, and her eyes a deep and warm brown. She is pretty if not beautiful, with a small childhood scar marring her right cheek, just along the bone- although it is not large enough to be considered a disfigurement.

PERSONALITY: Independent and self-reliant by nature she is frequently mindful of other's needs. Although her manner is usually gentle and accommodating she has a deep-seated stubborn streak, and can be quick to anger under the right circumstances.

OCCUPATION:
Her mother died of the wasting sickness when she was young, her father was left to support the family- Aida, her younger sister, and a brother, as well as two grandparents- so as soon as Aida was able she would take on tasks to earn a little extra food. Mainly she's a forager: from the areas outside the village she gathers roots, flowers and herbs for the local doctor (having had an interest in medicine since nursing her mother through her illness), seeds, fruits and berries to supplement the family's diet- any extra she sells to the taverns or to dyemakers. She also, when business if good enough that she is needed, works in The Black Pig and The Cloak and Dagger, serving and cleaning as required. As the town's sawbones got older she found herself being more relied on in that area: she has learned how to make a variety of potions and tinctures, and can tend to common ailments, as well as having acted as a midwife on several occasions.

BRIEF HISTORY: Both sides of her family have long, if relatively uneventful, histories in Elmswhistle. Her father, Atherol, is the local smith and farrier, carrying on a long tradition, although times are leaner than they once were.
She assumed the maternal mantle left empty by the death of her mother, practically raising her siblings, as her grandparents were both elderly and of ill health- both of whom have died in the intervening years, as did her younger brother, Jonas. Her sister, Lisabet, left the hamlet for Wexdale as soon as she was old enough (just two years prior to current time), leaving Aida with a strange- though not, if she was honest, unwelcome- void in her previously full life.
Since then she has spent increasingly more time out of the village gathering, and learning of herblore with the doctor.
She is unmarried and uninterested in being so- up until the last few years she has been too busy and too obligated to even consider courting, and now is finding she enjoys being 'untethered' too much to become shackled to a suitor.

From working in the taverns she is well acquainted with Jessop Daggervale, and familiar with Rhys from his visits. Atherol has been farrier as well as smith to the family, as his father before him, for many years- although with the decline in their fortunes he is needed less.

EQUIPMENT:

Back pack with a bedroll attached and containing: flint and tinder box, some dried fruits, bread and cured meats, a length of slender rope, a waterskin, a small pot, the small knife she uses when gathering herbs/plants, a horseshoe.

Satchel containing: small amounts of dried/powdered medicinal supplies, some ointments, tonics, including;
bayberry (a blood purifier and detoxifier),
queen of the meadow (aches/pains/strains),
peppermint (calming and an astringent)
scullcap (powerful sleep aid and calmative),
catnip (to ease nausea and diarrhea!),
garlic (antibiotic and fungicide),
thyme (an antiseptic and helps heal),
willow bark (painkiller),
elecampane (a natural expectorant),
damiana (can help with exhaustion and weaknesses- that it's also an aphrodesiac is irrelevant...),
hops (for pain/insomnia),
sphagnum moss (incredibly absorbant, can be used to pack wounds), licorice (stimulates the adrenal glands to help cope with stress),
black walnut (prevents parasite and some fungal infections,

She is wearing dark woolen trousers and her only pair of boots under her skirt (for propriety- at least until out of the village), and a light cream blouse under a faded red jerkin, covered by her shawl. She has a heavier woolen blouse and a dark coarse weave hooded-cloak in her pack for if the weather turns.

She carries a sling (she has used it to kill rabbits, but little else) and a staff (for walking, primarily, but could use it as a weapon if needed), and a slender and light short sword made by Atherol, who convinced her to bring it.

Thanks guys, two very good characters, almost exactly what I was looking for. :)

Once everyone has posted their characters, for the sake of the storyline I might have to ask for some very slight changes or give you additional information for their histories. I have a few things in mind already, but will wait until everyone has posted.

For the reference of those yet to post, Iorlas's character is quite near to the maximum I am looking for in fighting skills and toughness.

NAME: Eolande Manyrn

AGE: 27

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Eolande is a slender, graceful woman who stands at only five four. She has dark auburn hair, that usually hands braided down her back with a few strands hanging pleasantly by her face. Her facial features are nothing particularly beautiful, but still pretty, with lightely tanned skin, a small nose, pouty lips and high cheekbones. In contrast though, her eyes are a clear violet, shrouded by long black eyelashes. It is those eyes that have caused her much trouble in the past. Her voice is sweet, but is capable of carrying a dark, fierce undertone.

PERSONALITY: The now quiet Eolande was once a beautiful, flirtacious teenager, loved by her parents and everyone who knew her. She was often given to jokes and giggles, her attractive laughter heard all over town, bringing joy the hurting town of her origin. Now though, time has taken its toll, and she speaks but a little, a soft smile her only show of merriment. More often she is prone to listening - something those needing to complain find very appealing.

OCCUPATION: A quiet and hard worker, Eolande works at whatever job she can find. The only job she has never taken would be one of babysitting. Rarely does she take jobs in the field, her health preventing her to do so, though on occassion she has been seen to work in the garden.

BRIEF HISTORY: To know Eolande, once must know who she was as a child. She was bright, happy, curious about everything around her. The beauty queen in her little town through personality alone, she had many friends. One of her closest friends was Laura Daggervale, and they remained best friends until Eolande's early twenties. As she grew older, those friends became more men than women, and more relationships blossomed than she knew what to do with. Her parents worked as hard as possible at everything to give their little princess exactly what she desired. Eolande, as a child, was as far from her namesake as possible, Eolande meaning "violet flower".

Upon her twentieth birthday, her parents died of the same disease that swept away many of the other villagers, including Darith's family. She was left alone. To comfort her, she found a newcomer who called himself by the name of Tieran Fiere. He had ventured into the village two months after her parent's death, hurt and bedraggled, seeking comfort in any way possible. With some help from the village nurse and Laura Daggervale, she nursed him back to health in her own home.

Both single, Tieran and Eolande caused the village gossips to go wild with rumors and stories. But Eolande was in love with the handsome stranger, and didn't let any of it hurt either one of them. Tieran helped Eolande survive, bringing home whatever money he could, though not much at all it seemed to her. He claimed to be in love and bewitched by her violet eyes, and she loved him for it. On the eve of her twenty-first birthday, she discovered she was pregnant with Tieran's child. She told him the next night. Within twenty four hours he was gone, taking all of her money with him. Whether he planned to do this the entire time, was never discovered. As soon as she began to show her pregnancy, she dissapeared into seclusion in the woods, with only occasional visits from Laura to help her get by. Her two little boys were born the 18th of August. One of the twins was dead. She buried him in the ground next to the river, a place surrounded by violets. The other she named Alzen, and he was her pride and joy.

He began walking about a year later, and then she took him to the violet hideaway, showing him the river, the beauty. It was nearly time for her to return to the town of her birth, away from the little forest cottage she currently resided in. He played in the river, and for a moment she was lost in thought, thinking how much he resembled Tieran, and it filled her with resentment, and sadness. In that moment, her little boy drowned. Her screams were heard across the forest, and people in the nearby village would wonder what mythical beast had been awakened that spring afternoon.

She stayed in seclusion for another six months, hating herself, blaming herself, and drawing away from the world. Laura came to visit her often, her only companion. Then one day, near her twenty-third birthday, Laura convinced her to return home. She did. To the villagers' shock, the beautiful girl who had dissapeared had been replaced by a sad, merely pretty woman with grief and silence lined in her every action. Her violet eyes glistened with tears at the sight of any child, and though one man did wish the court her, she turned him away, believing she was unable to love again, and wishing she never could. On a stroke of luck about a month ago, Laura discovered a recent opening at the Cloak and Dagger, and insisted she take the job. Eolande was uncertain at first, and didn't want to interact with people, but has discovered she enjoys the hard work. It really has been the only thing keeping her alive as well as filling the hours and to scrape some food for her plate, only to survive because she feels she should, for both her son's sake.

To her great surprise, Jessop, Laura's twin, has also been helping her, stopping by every day or every other day briefly to see how she was holding up and handling things. She had known him since she was a child, often having played with him and Laura when they were younger, and she greatly appreciates his kindness now. His presence in her life is a constant balance that she had not realised she needed.

Few people in the village actually know what happened to her in the two years she was gone, though rumors circulate, one particular vicious one claiming she sold her soul to the devil in exchange for violet beautiful eyes and having his child. Today's date nears the day of Alzen's death, four years ago.

Living in her secluded cottage, she learned many things, though it is unknown if they will ever need to be used again.

Traveling Gear -
Eolande, though she would have leaped at the opportunity to go on such an adventure before, now finds herself woefully lacking in any kind of traveling outfit that would prove prudent under the current situation. Her hair remains in its braid down her back, though pulled tighter than she normally would. A simple, unassuming brown dress covers her figure, tied loosely at her waist with a forest green sash. She wears no jewelry, and keeps the illusion of a simple country girl, traveling into town. Her clothing makes her appear even younger than her age would allow, but her eyes betray the quietness of her nature. She also has a brown hooded cloak that ties at the neck for warmth and protection if necessary, and like Laura, she wears a borrowed pair of suitable brown boots.

With a bag that crosses like a sash across her back, she has brought with her only the smallest necessities. In the bag is a tightly packed change of clothes (a dark green woolen gown very similar to the brown one), a small carved swallow charm, and soap, should she ever have time to use such a thing. She also has flint and a tinder box, a water skin, and a bottle of particularly fine rum. A bedroll is tied to the top of the bag as well.

She has a small sheathed knife, no more than eight inches long that is tucked into her belt. She also wears a pair of breeches beneath her dress, with a basic creme chemise tucked into her satchel as well.

CJay I love your character. Such great detail. :)

Just to tie you in a bit more with events at the beginning, can I ask you to add the following (in your own words) into your more recent history:

An elderly barmaid at the Cloak and Dagger has recently decided to retire. Concerned for you, Laura insisted that you take the job there. She thinks it will do you good to earn some money and mix with people a little more. Her brother Jessop has been nice to you in helping you settle in. (It's up to you exactly how long you want to have been working there, can be days, weeks or even months).

I just need to establish all of the characters who are starting with us and then we can begin.

Wow, that was amazing Jay.
I dislike my character even more now.

Is it just me or is 'has suffered terrible personal tragedy' emerging as a theme? ;)
Feels medieval already..

Just a quick note- Flark, remember how you said we might need to update char sheets as ppl join/relationships are established?
If we do that we should try to remember to put a little note so ppl know, so maybe a post to say so and then in the original edited post maybe add in a quick note at the end so it's easy to keep track of the changes?

Well, none of us want to deal with the shackles of parents to leave behind, lol. However we can all blame these deaths on the same sickness can't we? That would make it an epidemic.

And as for keeping track of changes etc, thats a good idea. I'm going to keep a copy of my original one on my computer, and then keep the updated one seperate.

NAME: Barclay Winter

AGE: 33

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Barclay's short, dull red hair and beard frame a face that could be called plain or somewhat handsome, if it was not so often marred by his foul moods. His body is muscular from working hard throughout his life, but is beginning to show signs of his age. He rarely stands straight up, instead hunching forward somewhat. His clothes are old but kept in good condition by his wife.

PERSONALITY: Barclay is rather introverted, a condition he has been inclined toward throughout his life. In recent years, however, he has become more temperamental and dismissive of social interaction, a development which is concerning for his wife and the few friends he has.

OCCUPATION: Farmer. He was raised by farmers, and it is the only trade he knows.

BRIEF HISTORY: The only son of a poor farming family, Barclay was raised with love and care by his parents and taught to work the fields and help around the house from a very young age. Though a shy boy, he got along well with Tarquin Daggervale, and spent most of his free time playing around town with him. When Barclay was 14 years old, his father died, leaving him to do the majority of work on the farm. Soon after, he married Flora Langley, a fisherman's daughter whom he had been introduced to by Tarquin. They had three children: a boy, George, and two girls, Bell and Blossom. For several years, this family lived happily, but it was not to last. At the age of five, George became terribly ill. The doctor could not determine the cause of the illness, and George passed away soon after. Barclay was devastated by this loss, and became depressed and withdrawn. Over the years, his depression began showing outwardly in the form of moodiness and belligerence. In particular, he can't stand Rhys Daggervale, who reminds him of his son. Barclay now spends most of his time working. He teaches his teenage daughters how to work the fields out of necessity, but has grown distant from them and from his wife as well.

BARCLAY's FAMILY: Barclay's wife, Flora, is a plain, loving woman who spends most of her time looking after her home and family. Their older daughter, Bell, is a diligent worker who has developed an interest in medicine since her brother's death. She looks up to Aida Trevalyan, and takes any chance she can get to visit and learn from her. Their younger daughter, Blossom, is very outgoing and friendly. She is also very talkative, and loves to gossip and tell stories. Flora's mother lives with the family and often helps her cook and clean. Flora's father passed away several years ago.

How's this? Nanuk, let me know what you think of Bell and Aida.

I'm so dopey this morning that when I read this-

who has developed an interest in medicine since her brother's death. She looks up to Aida Trevalyan, and takes any chance she can get to visit and learn from her

I looked blankly at the screen for a moment, thinking 'Aida is my characters name. What? How can there be another one?" lol.

Once it's fine with Flark that connection's fine with me- it's a small village so it makes it more realistic and means we're more invested in each other.

Will have to dredge up some botany lessons about medicinal plants from the recesses of my memories.. ;)

Sorry nanuk I think you misunderstood me slightly. I (might) only need some people to change their char sheets just once before we start. (Like I did with CJay). There's no requirement from me for people to constantly keep updating them, unless of course you really want to.

I'm holding out before requesting any more changes because I'm waiting to see what aspects you guys are covering on your own. I did CJay straight away because I felt she was a little too isolated from the rest of the group and saw an ideal way of bringing her in closer.

Now we're just waiting on Propaganda and Sway.

By life you mean watching the Eurovision, right? Because that's what I'm doing, lol.

No I'll never admit it! I was doing far more cool and interesting stuff...

Don't worry, you can have no idea about the whims and workings of my twisted little mind.

With the exception of my small addition, yes she was perfect.

-

Anyway FYI Sway has mailed me to say she will no longer be taking part, so now we are only waiting on Propaganda.

I didn't want to have to do this, but since I've heard nothing from him since his initial post and I sense people (including me) are anxious to get started, I'll give him until 3.30 pm GMT tomorrow to post me a character concept. If he hasn't done so by then I'll set the old ball rolling and he will have to join in at a later date (if he still wants to).

Name: Vaal Grett

Physical description: Vaal is truly a hideous fellow to look upon. His face is covered in scars, there are hundreds of them all over his body. Supposedly the result of years of fighting in the streets of Wexdale. His cold blue eyes speak of a certain dementia or mental disturbence that has left him feral and animal-like in his demeanor. He disdains clothing, with the exception of his sack-cloth trousers and a large thick leather belt done over his shoulder and accross his chest. He carries a nine inch dagger on him at all times, an item he treasures above all else. He is often seen polishing it and sharpening it in his spare time. His thin, unfed and skeletal appearance, wether attributed to lack of food or a high metabolism, leaves him with nothing but his leanly muscled body and taught skin to protect him from the cold nights he spends in the streets. A particularly large and grizzly scar lies on accross his stomach from when he was almost disembowled by a guard in Wexdale for assaulting another member of the city guard. His escape is a shrouded endeavor, and little is known of it. He has, although only forty, a full head of grey hair, it is long and matted, obviously unkept and unattended. His high cheekbones and cut features would've been described as handsome if they weren't marred beyond admiration by his countless scars and frequently picked blisters and festering wounds. Blood stains litter his clothing and hair, drier blood can be found on his claw-like hands. His teeth and fingernails have been filed to fine points. obviously for offensive purposes.

Personality: Afflicted with many forms of dementia and numerous memory suppressive disorders, he is a truly difficult person to befriend or even understand at times. Although erratic and violent, he isn't murderous or particularly malevolent. When he can be calmed down, he can be described as an attentive and quiet individual, one who likes to listen and observe. His animal-like behavior, such as growling and snarling, has made him less then respected by those in any walk of life, even the homeless look down upon him like some sort of beast. He is most often described as a predator. He prefers to hunt his own food and more often then not, he'll eat it raw. Also a tendency to crawl on all fours and hide about in the forest for days at a time has also garnered him a strange reputation as a madman.

Occupation: None to really speak of other than as a guide in the forests near Elmswhistle, or a hunter of sorts, though he makes no real money from either.

Brief History: He was born in the slums of Wexdale, to two loving parents, they however were taken away at a young age when local thugs had robbed his house and his father had tried to stop them. Young Vaal, at age three, had to sit and watch as his father was torn apart by knives and fists. His mother was then succesively raped and killed as well. They left him crying in his house all alone and desolate. After wanderingthe streets for a few days starving, he was taken in by an old tailor, who although gave him a place to sleep and food to eat, had no real desire to either raise or care for the boy and only really ever used him for running errands and doing chores around the house when he was older. He was often beaten and later even sexually abused by the man, leaving his already tortured mind in chaos. At the age of ten he ran away and left for the forest, he then proceeded to try and live off of the land. It was hard at first and he often had nothing to eat and nowhere to sleep or seek shelter. He often wandered by small towns or settlements on his travels and stole food from the locals. He was often caught by town authorities and severly beaten or whipped for his petty crimes. Eventually however he came to rely almost entirely on the forest for both food and shelter. The knife he carries has no sure origin, but many believe it to be of some relevance to his father and mother. He eventually came to Elmswhistle on his travels and began to frequent the place seeking both food and some kind of social interraction, something he had been craving for years. His attempts at either were never really well met, but he has yet to leave the area for one reason or another.

Thank you.

Sorry Critch but you appear to have failed to read the very first piece of information I posted here. On the positive side I do like your character, but unfortunately for you there has already been several people mail me to inform me of their interest. For that reason it would be highly unfair to let you join ahead of those who mailed me like I asked and are waiting patiently. Sorry Critch, but your character has been declined for now. I will let you know via mail if a place becomes available.

Cool. I hope you read my latest edits though because there were some horrific grammatical errors in the first editions. It was quite hard work knocking up 4 attempted highly quality interlinking posts in such a short space of time. It's a good job I'm flarkin ace, eh.

I don't envy you.
You and Max.. you're both in positions where you have to make 3 or 4 posts for every one your players have to, lol.
This is why I don't DM.
That and I'm a control freak...

I chose the easy option- Lichy had me up late last night and his RP is stealing all of my creativity. I'll definitely try to work on spectacular for the next one. Promise :)

I hope my super detailed plan all made sense? Remember you can ask me questions here too if anything isn't making sense to you. I know I have a tendency to forget to explain certain details every now and again.

Terra_Withers
06/13/2007 5:45 AM

NAME: Leoraki Terran

AGE: 36

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Leoraki has a strong muscular build of which he developed over the years by his profession. He has light Onyx hair that runs down to his shoulders, it is straight but sometimes curls slightly. His light tan-colored eyes sometimes come out as orange pupils that look as gold as the sun. He has a broad chin, pale skin with light rosey cheeks, a medium sized nose and slender lips. His eyelashes aren't completely perfect, they are short and cause Leoraki to sometimes receive pain in his eyes. His voice is not mellifluous, but very strong and loud, but he could probably get louder. His neck is as broad as his chin and very thick.

PERSONALITY: Leoraki has always been a happy man, he has loved noise and hated silence. He isn't the kind of man who hates not to talk either, he can sometimes be a chatterbox. But Leoraki isn't all smiles and chit chattering, deep down is a very angry and outraged man, whenever Leoraki is insulted in a way, which by the way he does not appreciate, he lashes out as angry as a lion. Recently due to this he has not been treated as respectfully as he used to be. Also Leoraki is not shy, he isn't afraid to just go out there and be himself, infact... He loves it!

OCCUPATION: A loyal and cheerful man, he has very few occupation... His main is being a blacksmith, and an excellent one to, he does not laze around for a few minutes and then start, as soon as he receives the word, he is already crafting a soon to be fine blade, he also mends weapons and likes to keep a collection for himself. When he is not partaking in his own business, he is helping his three brothers at the family farm as a farmhand, he also delivers groceries and herbs to his mother who, still an old lady, cooks and makes do with the household work. His father is now dead, still honored by the family he ALWAYS manages to visit the spot he was buried along with his younger brother, Thoris.

BRIEF HISTORY: Leoraki was born on the Terran Farm, a rich and wealthy farm that delivered fruits and vegetables to the townsfolk, also nearby was the vineyard which his father eventually bought. A few years after Leoraki was born, Garrik was born, then Hirun and eventually the last to the Terran dynasty, Thoris. His mother was a cook who offered herself to cook banquets and feasts. Leoraki, Garrik, Hirun and Thoris always went down to the Black Pig to visit Jessop Daggervale, Garrik and Hirun loved the many visits because to them Jessop was inspiring, but usually Leoraki would escape the three to see the local blacksmith and admire his work. When the two uncles of Leoraki died, Leoraki became an apprentice to a local blacksmith, Kerrnin Gray he was called, he taught Leoraki everything about the arts, eventually Leoraki's father was called to the war and eventually died in a war. Saddened by this Leoraki was now incharge of the family, he would keep everything in order, and managed to make his own weapons of his own. After a few years, Leoraki was hired by another rich family to build a fence around their land due to constant robberies. The family gossiped about the craftsmen and he became famous in a way, Thoris, 'the favorite' of the family was Leoraki's little builder, little because he was only nine years of age at the time. After Leoraki's eighteenth birthday he met Ms. Luwanda Rhysa, who in time he married. Garrik and Hirun were jaelous of their brothers partner, she was so beautiful and cheerful. Leoraki and Luwanda had one child, a boy named after Thoris, only because the child looked like Thoris as a baby.

Hurin moved from the Farm and became a soldier, Leoraki and Garrik opposed the idea, because their father died as a soldier. After three years of a feud between the brothers, Garrik, bad-tempered and angered broke away from the family and become a sailor in a distant village. Leoraki only had his mother, his wife, Thoris and Thoris (Jr) to looked after now, after Leoraki and Luwanda's second child, a girl named Cresentia, Leoraki opened his own business, a blacksmith and was well known in the community. After his wife died, the village became aware the Leoraki was no longer always happy, he was a mere man, hiding behind a mask of happiness, but really he was angry and sorrowful. Leoraki felt sorry for Thoris, his only option was to have an arranged marriage which he hated alot, Thoris' demanding wife demanded them to move away to a different village. Leoraki kept the business but sold the house and Thoris (Jr), Cresentia and himself moved back to Terran Farm.

After six long hard years of farmhand duty and blacksmithing, Thoris had came back with a child, Kithi, a baby girl with the most golden eyes. His wife had been taken by a bandit... or so he claimed. Leoraki laughed at the excuse Thoris made, eventually Garrik came back, still no children or wife, he was never interested in that kind of stuff, he returned with a bargain. He becomes Leoraki's apprentice, in return of him staying to help in the farm. As time passed Cresentia learned cooking from her grandmother, Garrik, Thoris, Leoraki and Thoris (Jr) worked together in the farm and the blacksmith. Kithi died of an unknown illness, but ones lost others are gained. Hirun came back, with his wife, Ruby and four children, Emeraldia, Gaia, Morgan and Elizabeth. Emeraldia, Gaia and Elizabeth were cared for by Ruby and Hirun began to help with the farm.

Leoraki moved to a more remote home near his blacksmith, with Cresentia, who was now 16 and Thoris who was 18. Cresentia taught Thoris cooking because Thoris believed men should help women out with the cooking and household work. Leoraki eventually remarried, to Cruacia Valentine, who conceived one child, another boy, Dominic. Thoris and Cresentia eventually moved out of the home to distant villages, Dominic, now eight but still young was a very academic boy, he would always play teachers with himself and plan new weapons for Leoraki. Cruacia Valentine fell in love with another man and left Leoraki, Leoraki had to hide his sorrow for his child, Dominic. Leoraki began to take part in Dominic's activites, and gave him a great education and hoped the best for him. Now, Dominic 14 and Leoraki 36 they still live in the home and take part in the families activites.

ITs so quiet! Whats wrong with you people!

I thought we were waiting on Iorlas.

I do imagine things sometimes, though...

Yeah, obviously there's only so long we can drag out a walk to the river, so I was stalling to avoid getting too far ahead of Iorlas. If he hasn't posted by tomorrow I'll make an attempt to move things along without him.

[Posted By Terra_Withers on 06.13.2007 5:45 AM]

NAME: Leoraki Terran

Sorry to tell you this but I mentioned in the first paragraph of the first OOC post that we don't need any more characters at the moment. If you like I can add your character to the list of about 7 others who were also interested in joining and are currently on standby.

I know it's ridiculous that the RP sits here dormant while I shun away keen new players, but unfortunately until the beginning of the story completely unfolds that's the way it has to be.

EDIT:

but I mentioned in the first paragraph of the first OOC post

Sorry, it was the second paragraph...

Will you be PMing us or will you be posting that particular notice here?

When the time comes I'll PM people individually so as to be sure I get their attention. I doubt I'll be inviting everyone together, more likely 2 or 3 at a time. Of course there may be some people who are no longer interested, so I will simply move on to the next, contacting people in the order in which they expressed their interest.

I'll have a look later when I get a proper chance (and don't feel like I'm going to fall asleep) and see if I can post something that isn't too obviously filler, lol.

Just for future reference, Terra, if you do end up joining us-

Leoraki has always been a happy man

deep down is a very angry and outraged man

A loyal and cheerful man

??
A little bit paradoxical, surely? Cheerful andangry?
I know you mention later a reason why he presents an outer facade of happiness but it's a facade rather than being actual

His main is being a blacksmith, and an excellent one to

*cough*too*cough* ;)

Leoraki became an apprentice to a local blacksmith, Kerrnin Gray

In my character's history it's already established that her father is the sole blacksmith of the village (a village which is really too small to support more than one).
If you do end up joining later maybe you could edit your backstory so that you're from another village/town, and were the blacksmith there.

Oh, and-

He has light Onyx hair

You can't have light onyx :P

Yeah I'd spotted that. I'm figuring that some of the new characters may be from the other towns and villages, so I haven't been overly scrutinising them since they may need to make some slight changes anyway.

That's absolutely fine my friend. :) It did make me chuckle to see how loved up you are is even affecting you IC. :D

One small point I did notice is I'm assuming from your post that Darith & Rhys are only bringing one boat between them? My (Tarquin's) original plan had been to bring one each, but assuming the boat is large enough for 8 people it doesn't really matter all that much. My original thinking was that the fishing boats would be very small (4-man rowing boats).

It's only a B12 deficiency anyway, lol- it can cause brain damage (I had terrible memory problems before it was diagnosed) but once it's treated it causes no problems at all.

On a serious note, didn't I hear you mention you are a vegetarian, or have I got that completely wrong?

If so, does that not cause a bit of an problem with having a B12 deficiency? Personally I doubt it would cause me much trouble as I live off stuff like fish, meat and cheese. (It's peculiar shaped fruit which gives me issues, lol.)

Seeing as you have 4 characters there to my 1 I figured I'd need a little input ;)

Flark
06/26/2007 8:53 AM

So, reckoning I'm finally ready to post a reply, I find myself stuck- what would they do?

Good question. :)

Alright, in the hope of establishing how the remaining characters would react, let's first go over what we can assume they would have just witnessed. Remember it's dark, visibility is of course poor, and the noise of the waves is making communication near impossible.

Rhys is currently the only one in the boat and is desperately struggling to control it on his own. It is in real jeopardy of smashing into the surrounding rocks. There isn't much he can do until he gets some assistance with the rowing.

Tarquin and Jessop have their hands full holding onto the rope until someone can help out Rhys. There isn't much these two can do at the moment either.

Laura and Eolande disappeared under the waves seemingly trying to swim towards the boat...

I would say this is the point where the remaining characters (Aida & Barclay) need to have decided what they were going to do - the probable choices being (a) swim towards the boat, and (b) assist Tarquin and Jessop with the rope.

Choice (a) would make it fairly unlikely that you would see anything which just happened with Eolande and Laura.

Choosing choice (b) there is a chance you would have spotted the trouble they were in and might have spotted Eolande drag Laura to the water's edge before being swept away.

Do they try and heave Laura and the others to be boat, lamenting Eolande for lost, or try to find her?

If you're still unsure of what to include in your post - then simply act out however you think your charcater would act to these immediate circumstances and I will progress the story a little further in the my next post.

Also - CODPOR - please let me know that you are still with us or else I will be forced to take over the control of your character.

Don't worry about the delay, nanuk - it'll give me time to prepare a few little surprises. ;)

As for what to do next - well that is entirely up to you. Personally I would recommend going back to the village as there is very little you can do to help now that you are stranded on the beach.

Now that the brothers are out of the scene and that Tarquin's plan is in motion I'm hoping to gradually hand more control of the story over to you guys. Laura wont be feeling at her best for a while so is likely to go along with whatever you guys decide.

And if we are going back to the village, does that mean the rest of the trip to the island and back will be out of the narrative?

so, would I be anywhere right in thinking that we're heading back to the village, and Iorlas is heading back to the village, so... the adventure is more than likely not over..? ;)

Ahh ha, if all goes to plan then things are only just warming up. ;)

Hello everybody :]

I've been recruited to join you guys, and i'm really excited because this is an awesome RP *fangirling moment*

Here's my profile, I'm going to try to jump in and meld where everyone is right now.

Name: Saysen Silnye

Age: 32

Physical Description: Saysen has one of those faces that could be fourteen or forty and look the same--not young, not old just a tad off kilter. He has deep set amber eyes that tend to cloud when the weather gets stormy, and coarse hair tied back in a tuft at the nape of his neck, a color somewhere between burnt auburn and black. His nose has been broken more than once, and even when it was in one peice it was too long for good looks. On first glance he looks thin, but upon closer examination you find that Saysen is really very wirey, and the slim muscles he has are defined by years of labor and craftsmanship. His skin has the leathry texture of sun and sweat and time, but the pigment remains on the pale side, just the darker side of almond flesh. His fingers and toes are almost abnormaly long, and when he's particularly delighted with sometihing he tends to look like a monkey. It is very hard for Saysen to keep his fingers still. He stands at right under six foot and weighs around one hundred and fifty pounds. On his left side is a long scar from a wheat scythe--and accident from childhood--and there is a circular wound on his right ankle from a wolf bite that never healed properly. He favors long vests and loose pants and can't stand shirts or undershirts that cover any portion of his hands. He keeps his eyebrows thin and his fingernails short. The only physical sign of the hard time that has befallen the land on Saysen are the small crow's feet sprouting from the corners of his eyes.

Personality: Saysen is one for whistling in the dark. He's never been wealthy or good looking, so he figures he might as well be happy. He has become a tad desensitized to violence over the years, and may sometimes come off as indifferent or foolish. He's always good for a laugh, but is able to break someone's finger and laugh about it, it really doesn't phase him anymore. Saysen can have moments of great intuectual depth, but he also has moments of childish immaturity. He is mildly ADD, it is very hard for him to keep still and paces when he becomes nervous. He tends to fall back on sarcasm and humor when confronted or uncomfortable, and has become a master at changing the subject. He has a deathly fear of horses and an amazing sense of rythym. Though he usually portrays a goofy or nonchalant exterior, Saysen is very well read and is quick with numbers, however he can't write much more than his own name. He has mild dislexia and most of the things he's "read" have actually been read to him. He is exceedingly embarassed by this fact and few know he can not write. He loves to sketch in charcol, especially people and faces.

Occupation: Saysen is a traveling "salesmen and trader" who might every now and again resort to theivery.

History:Saysen was born in Elmswhistle, only a few years after Tarquin Daggervale. His mother dies in childbirth, and his father, a talented woodworker and musician found his only joy in Saysen's mischief. He and Tarquin were friends in thier childhood, Saysen usually concocting complicated schemes to hide someone's laundry or snitch pie-crust from the baker and coercing Tarquin into participating. Tarquin was always the one who was able to talk them out of trouble. Saysen was friecly loyal to Tarquin and would take (or throw) a punch to defend his friend. Saysen took great joy in the drum and the pan-flute as a boy, and could be found playing them outside people's windows at the wee hours of the morning, much to the shagrin of Sebastian Daggervale. Tarquin was one of the few who knew of his friends dyslexia and (when he could get him to sit still) would read to Saysen from the books he could find in the village. Saysen's happy havoc continued in Elmswhistle until a few days after his fifteenth birthday, when the local cobbler accused him of stealing from his workshop. Saysen had taken nothing, but his reputation and his tendancy to speak before thinking landed him on the bad end of a wheat sycthe by accident. He lost massive amounts of blood and stayed unconcious for almost three days, and even when he awoke, the blow had severed many of the muscles in his left side, and it took him months to recover and move like he used to. To this day his left side remins stiffer than his right. Barely a year after recovering from the blow, Saysen buried his father. It was then that Saysen decided to leave Elmswhistle. Though Tarquin and the Daggervales generously offered to house him, he felt confined in the town, and the cobbler still had it out for him, so Saysen began to travel. By the time he hit twenty five, he'd been to the far shores of Denzibar and back to the capital. He'd learned that he was very good with hands and had a great affinity for children.Say When he could not find work or food he turned his capable hands to theivery; however, knowing the hards times across the land he was always careful to take from those who had enough to spare and to never take more than he needed, rarely would he thieve things to sell them. Saysen learned to dance and learned the joys of sleeping outdoors. His fear of horses, a phobia from childhood was embedded even deeper when an aging mare kicked him in the nose during a thunderstorm. He now will refuse to come within twenety feet of an untethered horse. During the same storm, blinded by the pain in his nose, Saysen wandered into unprotected woodland and was attacked by a wolf, the artist responsible for the wound on his ankle that will not heal properly. The most useful skill Saysen pick up was that of needle work, not only can he mend his own clothes, but he's fairly proficient at decorative embriodery. The one skill Saysen has never aquired is the ability to hold his liquer--he's done after two pints. Saysen was in the market in Wexdale, "borrowing" vegtables, when he was nearly trampled by a drunken party--four merchants and a nobleman, and odd combination to be sure. He would have passed by without another thought, but he'd heard one of the party mumble "Elmswhistle" in conversation, and Saysen was curious for news of his home. He walked along behind the party, catching snips and sentences as he went; appearently this drunkeness was a celebration--the merchants had come into a great deal of wealth, according to the nobleman. They all seemed quite pleased with themselves. Saysen had no idea what any of this had to do with Elmswhistle, and was about to turn around and find a napping apple seller, when one sentance stopped him dead.
"Tax them until the country rats are sleeping with their own cows in the weeds!" one of the merchants bellowed. The wealth they spoke of was to come from the poor people of Saysen's hometown--they would steal them blind in taxes. The apple seller was forgotten. Before the sun had set on Wexdale, Saysen was headed towards home.

Sweet!

Baggsies on initiating the new girl ;)

I'll let you initiate her IC, but the OOC is all mine. *grins*

Seriously though, absolutely superb first post there Zombie! :)

Just one thing you need to keep in mind though Zombie is that the nanuk and Codpor's characters are currently quite a way off from Elmswhistle. (They are positioned on the west coast at the narrowest point of crossing to the Isle of Merrywinter) For you character to be way out there he would probably need some kind of reason or explanation. Of course you could be following the coastline down from Wexdale but you would have probably started to cut inland before you would ever reach them. If you can't think of a good reason for being out there don't worry too much as everyone should be heading back to the village very shortly. I can always keep you occupied with a few NPC's if you get there before everyone else. :)

Okie-Dokie, I wasn't planning to run into them, just get caught in the storm, cut inland, then head to Elmswhistle and meet up with them in the village. Saysen does get lost very easily though, so if you'd like me to meet up with them early that's cool with me too, I can go either way. Saysen has no sense of direction, he just follows roads. :p

Nanuk *eep* don't eat me.

Ah that's cool. Well to be honest you're probably very near to where Max is currently picking up Iorlas's character right now - but feel free to do whatever you like, you sound like you know what you're doing. :)

MAX -

Excellent post my friend, welcome aboard! The LSD is cool by the way. :D

Now where is Iorlas?

Oh, and I thought I had already included this...

Obviously, by Flark's post, I was recruited into this. I don't have a set character, though, it's more like I am making cameo appearances as NPC's. I'm glad to be here, and I hope to bring something good to this wonderful thread.

:)

Thanks for the post nanuk, and Max for the kind words. :)

Alright guys we have yet another new player joining in shortly so hopefully we can get the ball really rolling again. Feel free to post us your character sheet here buddy.

For your easy reference I'll update the first OOC post with information on the new NPC style characters .

And just to reiterate, in case it isn't me.

Just pointing out that for the sake of time keeping, whoever makes the first post at dawn should lead it with the following information

(The Twenty-Fifth day of the month September, the year Ten-Seventy-Nine.)

(Day three)

Cheers guys.

Always happy to oblige ;)

Max for the kind words

Yeah, Max is awesome.
You're awesome too, Flark.
Max'd be even more awesome if his god-bless-him-it's-terrible-but-necessary work schedule would allow him some time to work on a certain thread... but he's still quite awesome ;)

Oh, my painkillers must be kicking in finally- hooray!

Feel free to post us your character sheet here buddy.

Ooh, mysterious!
Or it would be if you hadn't put our new recruit's name in the updated first post, lol.

A heart pre-welcome anyway!

whoever makes the first post at dawn

Well myself and CodPor are currently still in the cave, experiencing one of the world's longest ever evenings, lol, so I don't know if it's us. But I'd say either in CodPor's next post if he has nothing I need Aida to respond to, or mine if he does, we should skip it on to the next morning, and wake poor Laura up.

NAME: Corporal Armand Shillingsworth

AGE: 36

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Armand is a rather burly man, and tall, with long brown hair which he pulls into a pony tail that hangs a bit past his shoulders. His eyes are blue, full of both compassion for his people and pride for this once great kingdom. He has a fair complexion, and is quite the lady's man in many respects...

His armor is comprised mostly of chainmail, with the exception of his steel helm and steel-braced wooden shield. His family crest, six golden eggs placed pyramidal from the bottom of a shield underneath a golden wing all set in the foreground of a horizontally-lined blue background, is on his shoulders and the center of his royal blue over-garment and the center of his shield, which is also blue...

At his right side hangs a steel longsword, and at his back is hung his shield, the inside of which hides his steel broadsword. At his right side was a satchel that carried a few pieces of gold in a sack as well as a few other things such as a length of rope, tinder and flint for starting a fire, a pipe and tobacco for smoking, and a flute to ease his mind when times get rough. Just in case, he keeps a knife belted next to this satchel...

[url:http://members.optusnet.com.au/~mkgregory/eburacum/armor2.jpg]Armand

((I am sorry to do this and kill the creative aspect of my character, but I've had a bad last few days and have had to resort to window shopping to find a character, something I never do. Flark can attest to that, and once again I apologize. There are, however, a few exceptions, and for that matter whatever is stated above takes precedence over the picture.))

PERSONALITY: Armand's personality most closely resembles that of a heroic knight, though he neither wants nor has the fame and riches that most knights of legend are garnered with. Instead, his reward is the smile, and the warm feeling he gets when helping others. If he had it his way no one would ever know what he does for other people, but of course that would be nearly impossible...

In the military, he is a man that more earns respect than demands it, whether that be achieved through his actions as a commanding officer, or his kind words as a friend. He is a patient man, with little that would truly awake his otherwise dormant anger aside from dishonoring his family or his country, and he is normally a reasonable man even with that...

As said before, man of respect, both to his commanding officer as well as those he commands. He does not flaunt his family name, but rather treats others as his equal unless he is given a reason to do otherwise. He is also a man of honor, and one of the bravest men these lands have ever seen...

OCCUPATION: Corporal in the Royal Army of Denzibar

BRIEF HISTORY: Armand was born into a noble family, taught to respect for his country and pride for his family name from the day he opened his eyes. His father was also a part of the Denzibarian Army, as were was his father before him, and his father, and so on. As so, from the day he could hold a shield and sword, he had a strict combat training schedule, both in armed and unarmed combat. When he was older, his father schooled him in the finer arts of combat, including advanced swordsmanship, equestrianism, including mounted combat, and field and squad tactics...

It should come of no surprise then that Armand enlisted in the army at the earliest age and served every since, nor should it come as any surprise that he is a commanding officer in said army. His family name could have gotten him that position, but it's obvious that he deserves it. Having said that, his family name also carries with it an air of recognition, an air crisp with devout servitude and unwavering courage and loyalty...

All said, Armand is a great man with a noble history, and he spends every living minute looking for ways to better the country, his family's homeland, wherever he can. He has never given up, and doesn't plan on starting in his upcoming adventure...

Alright you guys, so there's Armand, hope you guys like him... Sorry again that it took so long Flark, but hey, what can I say, Rome wasn't built in a day, not that he's anything close to Rome, but hey, it worked. Anyways, if I don't have my post up by tonight it will be up by tomorrow night, I've had a long weekend and I'm on vacation now, so I'm between riding water slides, getting sleep, and the forum, and those three things don't mix well as I have found out...

At any rate, I look forward to RPing with you guys, so we'll see how it goes...

EDIT: Somehow a let a spelling error get through the spell check, so I fixed it. Shows how smart I am huh?..

2ND EDIT: Forgot to pick the link in for the picture, I'm just doin' great today...

I'll try to edit it in the morning, when hopefully my brain will be a little clearer.

nanuk, stop being so self-critical, your post was absolutely fine! Personally I hate writing that 'explaining to an absent char what happened' kind of post., but unfortunately they become necessary all too often. Don't worry you did good. :)

Max, what are you doing?.. Please don't take this as a 'Max what the fuck are you doing?!!!' because it's not. I'm just curious as to where myself and Tamachi should go with our next posts?

Only the Viscount has disembarked ship at this point and Shillingsworth was supposed to getting his men to follow, but now he can't. Is that what you were meaning to do or have one of us got mixed up somewhere? If that's what you were meaning that's fine I just wanted to clarify before the Viscount blows his top.

Oh...I was under the impression that the Viscount was the last person to leave the ship - meaning he went ashore to join the rest of the people, including Corporal Shillingsworth.

Since they were all ashore, I was having him move to anchor the ship in deeper water, so that if a storm came up they wouldn't damage the ship from being in such shallow water.

I was going to ask what you wanted me to do with Iorlas's character in next post. Evidently, I misinterpreted a couple things...

How about I just remove that post, save it, wait until Tamachi posts the Corporal's disembarkation, and then repost. Would that fix it?

This vacation is killing me, and to top it off the bitch behind the counter last night didn't know how to fix the wireless when it went down last night and wouldn't let me fix it so I was S.O.L. Sorry- seeing as I had posted last of myself and CodPor I thought he might want to get something up.

I'll try to get something up today or tomorrow- how far to the village should we go? If it's supposed to be a day till we get there you guys will be there first so I don't want to mess up the timing.

Flark
07/29/2007 8:15 AM

Don't worry nanuk, you guys might want to hold fire for a moment.

I'm going to briefly narrate the next few days in an attempt to get things moving along to where they should become more interesting. I was unsure whether or not to do this just yet, but I think things are starting to lag a bit and we need something to spark a bit more creativity.

I've said it before I know, but after my next series of posts I want you guys to start taking more control of the storyline instead of me leading all the while. I think the majority of you are all familiar enough with the setting now so that once certain things are revealed very shortly you guys should be confident enough to do so.

Any feedback or comments are welcome. :)

(This might take a while by the way. I'll post again here in the OOC once it's all set)

I know you said you wanted us to take more control of the story but at the moment I don't know what's supposed to be going on, so I really couldn't do much more for fear of messing up whatever it is you have planned.

Well I reckon it would make most sense if you simply turned up in the village for now. If you like you could make your way to one of the pre-destined areas such as the Cloak and Dagger, the Black Pig, or even the Daggervale Estate to see what's going on.

It's probably best if you guys avoid bumping into Tarquin for now. Let him go about his 'business' and I'll have he come and find you once he's good and ready. *grins*

Flark, I'm a bit confused. Did Jessop present his plan? Reading your post, it looks to me like he's just thinking about it, and I'm not really sure how to respond if that's the case. Barclay ain't no mind reader.

Oops, yeah he did, sorry I was just being too lazy to type it out as speech.

I've mentioned it elsewhere before, but just in case I don't get on again tonight I should let you all know that I'm away for a week from tomorrow.

Do please catch up with your character posts, but let's no jump too far ahead with the story until I get back.

See you all soon.

uh, yeah, I'll try... shouldn't be too difficult, considering I've no idea what's actually going on, lol.

Gahh! I'm back already from a great holiday with excruciating tooth ache. I would expect nothing less.

Right. Now then. What's going on? Hell I don't know it's far too late to figure that out...

I think I'd best try 'n pick this thing up tomorrow.

You're back!

*happy dance*

That was a surprisingly quick week considering the aching hole you left in all of our lives, lol

Woo, sorry for the absence guys, been running eight-hour two-a-day practices for marching band. I've done nothing but sweat and sleep for a week. Sorry about that.

Anyway, I'm not exactly sure what to do with Saysen at the moment, so I may wait for a couple mroe posts before I jump back in.

Hi Zombie, welcome back. :) Don't worry about the absence, as you see not a great lot has been happening recently.

If you just have him enter the village on his original task of warning the Daggervales about what you heard in Wexdale, that should work fine. That should take you straight into interacting with Tamachi's guys and the thick of the story.

...er, Aida's going to the town with Jesop to look for Tarquin, Barclay's staying with the cart?

have to go out to my friend's at some point today to give her a hand with something- not sure what time, but if I don't get a chance to put up a post before I have to go I'll try when I get back

Barclay's supposed to be taking the cart back to his farm to be specific. Close enough though. ;)

No rush. :)
