Okay this is basicly a you start off the game characters should be simple and not gods.

setting:A quiet town in the middle of nowhere, a fairly big town about 50 miles North to South and 80 miles West to East. Jobs range anywhere from bar winch to a miner in the mountains. The time setting is about the same as FF7, if you havent played FF7 then the world is somewhat modern but mostly with sowrds not guns, ther are trains and a few modern technology like cars and planes(airships). Jobs and classes will be based on whatever you can think up final approval will be mine and mine alone. Races will be whatever you can think of but nothing like demons or archfiends and nothing along the lines of draconic( for the simple minded, dragon people ) I will allow anthros or anything of that sort so long as you can play the animal you are. Any other standard RPG races like elves or dwarfs etc. are fine as well. I expect you to read these rules so here's my policy on PvP death can happen but the final outcome is my decision so no arguments. A player fight can only occur if both players fighting agree, I perfer you post this in OOC, so thats the jist of it all....HAVE FUN.

P.S. If there are any other questions please ask.

Oooh, I might hang out here, not because I'm new, but because I enjoy helping newbies out. ^_^ I wish I had more help when I first got started. Lol, my first post ever -

i walk to a room, c sum friends and say hi. hi. wazuup.

Thank heavens for practice!

So here's a character sheet.

Name - Jaye Firense
Job - Bar owner
Race - Elf
Class - Buisness. :-p
Equipment - Small dagger, tucked underneath her skirt, her wit and a rare use gun kept underneath her bar for trouble makers - silver bullets included.
Appearance - Typical to the elves, Jaye is around five foot eight, slim and slender with pale skin and green eyes. Her hair is a sweet strawberry blond, and is usually seen twisted in a braid down to her waist. She wears a green and gold amulet around her neck, and is usually seen wearing a stylish forest green gown with an apron wrapped around her attractive figure. She has a ethreal beauty that hangs about her like nobility, but her smile and personality are often just as charming as her looks.
Abilities - cleaning, and some simple spells. Like, washing the dishes faster simple spells.
Other - Typical elven powers, long life, not easily hurt, agility etc.

Oh god- you're my newb nightmare!
Mandatory grammar/punctuation/spelling lessons for all!
I'll RP Trunchbull..

Even my first post wasn't like that, lol- I've always been anal about proper English: the one and only time I ever cheated on an exam was a spelling test, and I was seven (panicked because I couldn't remember how to spell tractor so I wrote it on my palm. Still feel guilty!)

Well, I discovered I liked writing. And I felt totally lame when I realised I couldn't understand what people were writing when thye tpyed lik thsi w/ lots of mistaces. Made me so mad. Course, that was when I was like, eleven, so I tried to take care of that really quick. And I'm still learning. I went and talked to a vet english teacher friend about metaphors today, and how to establish them in short stories. It was a long talk. Made me happy. ^_^

Anyway, but lets make this not dead! If we can draw the newbs here, maybe we can change the world literacy levels! :-p lol

Oh what a wonderful dream!

Even literacy as a whole I'm not too worried about- a full stop instead of an ellipses now and then would be nice.
Or even a colon *swoons*

Oh yummy! I miss english. Why did I choose science? Why?!

This place- this particular forum- is a great idea (I was so intimidated, back in the day, when I joined one of the earlier incarnations of RPGC, read the RP forums for months without taking part) but unfortunately isn't used enough.

science? yick. I'm dealing with a rather devilish physics class at the moment too.

Hmm...well, I suppose we'll just have to keep the place for newbs to come and grow alive somehow.
and to save them from those who will eat them alive at first.

Yeah, I'm not 1337 at all, so I'll just admit that you 'pwned' me....NOT!

hahaha...that was followed shortly by the 'PSYCH!' phase. Similar to the 'NOT!' phase, except it usually involved offering something.

As in you go to give some a high-five, and pull back at the last second, yelling 'PSYCH!'

hehehe...

Oh, and my first post was my first post here on these forums, so if you can find that...

The only experience I've had before this is poetry and essays, I've never really written stories or anything, but I like it, and am learning more as I write. Also, it helps that I've read a few thousand novels. :-D

Much as I love the Dark Tower any of his other books will do squat for your writing ability, lol. Talk about pedestrian.

The Dark Tower books are a whole different level, transcendent, lol. Almost like they were written by a different person. They would do someone's writing style a lot of good ;)

I just try to take a little bit from each person I read. Sometimes descriptions, neat metaphors, plot ideas and character developement, things to test your character with (especially when trying to figure out things about them).

Or capitalisation, either :P

Frankly, since after his early work I don't think he's a good enough writer to be writing books on writing.

Unless it solely concerns The Dark Tower, lol.
His plots are staid and predictable, his dialogue is awful, and his characters irritating and frequently repititious.

The Dark Tower though..

I love those books- did I mention that?..

yes many times
ive only read through the first one so far but i got the last one for christmas and am so tempted to read it.
have you ever read some of his short stories too?

some of those you think you've got but then its like what??? i was sure that this was gonna happen? and sometimes he gets those bad ones (mainly the ones that aren't really horror.)

as for that i almost never capitalize when on forums. it takes to much time.

It Takes Milliseconds, You Lazy Lump!

Personally, I piss-poor spelling/grammar etc.- and, to be honest, capitalisation- quite insulting.
I think it shows a lack of care and effort- highly annoying for someone like me who spends ages staring at the screen thinking before even posting (for RPs anyway, lol).

In spammy little posts like this, who cares? But in RP posts I think more effort should be put in- it's just respectful to the other players.
