How Chip_Graycastle got into roleplaying:
Long ago in the ancient times I studied with masters of Dungeon in small poorly lit rooms filled with students. In other words, instead of studying in college as I was supposed to, I played D&D.

Some helpful hints for new players getting into RPGs:
Jump in an practice, BUT do not ruin the fun for others by always having to win or be the center of the action.
