I started out roleplaying with one session with a good friend that's no longer with us and it's taken off from there. When I hit college I got into the online MUDs. Castle Arcanum was the first place I roosted and after eight months I was staff (whatever the fuck that means).

I quit, went back to playing, over and over and over. After a while, killing the same old monsters and getting the same old EQ gets lame, so I bounced out to The Realms of the Shadowlords and tried my hand at building with the SMAUG code base. Room descriptions were great, mobile descriptions were good, mobiles were WAY too powerful. I didn't get a chance to fix the problem however. A legal dispute between our Implementor and Arcanum's Implementor caused it to go tits up.

I did a little more gaming with my wife and cousin, it was ok. I met the Lich and ended up here. This beats the hell out of watching text scroll by on the screen and hoping you didn't enter too many commands in case you have to flee.
