Who am I?
I'm a writer of my first novel, based on all the fantasy novels i've read, the films i've watched and even the Japanese Anime i've absorbed. I love creating my own characters and world, and do so quite regularly in Role Play.
I'm a therapist on my spare days using my experience in Psychology and my skills in Shiatzu to help people when i can.
I'm a quirky guy with a wierd sense of humour.

How AuricFalken got into roleplaying:
I wad introduced to Role Playing when i was sixteen by friends of my brother - my first Role Playing game was actually Mechwarrior back when its creators still had the rights. I quickly moved on to Shatterzone and Star Wars (the Westend Game versions) and from there several years of AD&D 2nd edition with elite gamers. Over the years i've allowed the corruption of 3rd Edition into my soul, but i let other great RP's in as well - White Wilf (Vampire, Werewolf, Mage occasionally - especially Hunter) being a big one.

Some helpful hints for new players getting into RPGs:
Advice, eh? Its a tough one. I think that, putting my writing experience and role playing experience together, the best advice i can give is this:

Never let your own personality dominate the character, and never let the character dominate you:

Remember that when you are creating your character, that he has his own goals and plans for the future, has fears to deal with and quirks just like normal people - if you would go into a room full of assassins but your character never would, then he doesn't go in; its against his Character.

Also remember that sometimes, we can get so attached or involved with our characters that sometimes, we can forget to leave them in the game session. White Wolf refers to that danger alot in its supplement books (i've read lots of them, believe me), and its a regular thing. Role Playing should stay with the group and the game, and never leave it unless its a light, friendly discussion.
