More about Nic Doe and some RP advice!
I am playing now rpgs for nearly 20 years. I started with "Das Schwarze Auge", did go over to D & D, AD & D, and moved on from there to Star Wars from West End Games. Always as player and GM.
After that i played Merp and Rolemaster and some WOD. After that I opened my own Shadowrun group and we played it for over 10 years with me as GM. Then I had a break for three years and did this month start a new GURPS group (5 players + the gm, 3 men + 2 women / very interesting constellation) in a own created fantasy campaign setting which idea I carried around for more then 6 or 7 years. Sad but thats history cauze I am moved last year. I like system with a variable rulez set which leaves room for creating individual characters. At the moment there are only a few systems on the market that allow this: Rolemaster, the new WOD, Gurps!!! When it comes to fantasy I am more in for some dark settings. I am no fan of high fantasy. ATM I am playing a nWOD campaign with some guys around here. Also we play Pathfinder and Rolemaster. The German edition has a real nice layout. You can check it out here: http://13mann.de/index.php?page=products&cat=3 How Dogma75 got into roleplaying: I watched Simon & Simon in the 80ties. And there was a part of the series where a little boy played the first edition of D & D. One or two years later I got from my dad the first german rpg named "Das Schwarze Auge". They are still on the market and are on of the bigger players here in Europe, they own the rights and publish in addition to the above named game Battletech and Shadowrun. (So the publisher f..... it up and lost or sold all rights in 2006 till now...they even lost their german license for Shadowrun...no words for that...) Some helpful hints for new players getting into RPGs: If you like it then try it. You only learn to play if you have some loses too. Nobody was an expert when he started the rpging as player or gm. Everybody - I bet - had some sessions that were not famous for creativity at the beginning... Nic Doe's Blog Entries There are no blog entries posted by this user. Nic Doe's RPGC Buddies
