How Shallandra got into roleplaying:
Someone very dear to me invited me to try it once - and boy did I get hooked. It was a great way to gather together with friends, try all kinds of crazy stuff, and learn about one another. I've always enjoyed the world of sci-fi and fantasy, and it was even better being able to play an active role in whatever world I found myself plopped into.

Some helpful hints for new players getting into RPGs:
Just be yourself - not necessarily the 'self' you present to everyone in the real world, but the 'self' that is hidden deep within you. We all have some part that is looking for an outlet of expression - allow that part of you to be set free, take on a life and personality of its own. You'll be amazed how much you can learn about what's truly deep inside you. :)
